#eliot posts #dunme #delicious in dungeon #dungeon meshi #sorry to put toshiro in the roll of shitty job interviewer lmao #but he was the best fit for ''guy that wants me to read their mind''#laios being my internal monologue here #i was on my THIRD interview of the day i was Dying #tho since the prev two interviews i had were for similar positions and told me their salaries outright at least i could use that number #(though tbh my work persona is more of a kabru. my customer service voice is unparalleled)#(at my first job even my coworkers thought i was sooo cheerful til i got too comfy and casually made a joke abt wanting to asphyxiate on a #plastic shopping bag like a sea turtle. in front of my sweet elderly coworker. oops!)#(also this job was during quarantine and after weeks of working together i took my mask off in front of one coworker for the first time #and she called like half the department over from their registers to look at how pretty i was??? prettyboy powers unmatched ig)#(also my first interview today went SO well i charmed that interviewer so good despite my lack of qualifications)#(she even complimented my social skills and said i seemed like the type who could get along well and make good conversation with anyone!)#(which is important bc i was interviewing for an elder care position. also old people especially tend to think i am a Delightful Young Lad)#(unless i accidentally make a morbid joke around them ig lmaooo. or. well. some of them like those too. but not that one coworker lol)#(if only that skill transferred over to actually making friends irl. my autistic ass has so few close irl connections)#(i hope my exceedingly short list of character references does not prevent me from getting hired)#AND ALSO my first job asked the same wage question and i said twelve dollars #and they were like all our new employees start at 7.75 #the union insists that we pay all new employees a whopping 50 cents above min wage. (we'd pay less if we could)#like dawg why did you ask that then??? if my answer did not matter at all???

I fucking hate how landlords can just fucking raise your rend endlessly. And that it's oh we need to raise it to keep pace with the cost of living. Like fucker you're the cost of living. You're a big company just trying to drain people of all the money you can. You don't care if the people living in your apartment can afford it only that you get money.

#like my rent is going up $110 but they also arent telling me if the utility bill is going up separately from that #bc they charge it separately even though i dont actually see a utility bill bc the building wasn't designed for individual unit billing #and that went from 50 to 75 last year #without them telling me #it's just like in order to keep pace with rent alone i have to get a yearly raise of like a dollar and a half an hour #i get good raises but i dont get that #when i got the place i made 3x income for rent #now with this one check wont cover it #plus bc i had two people hit and run me my car insurance is also going to raise my rates #like this is just yes we can keep demanding more money from you but nobody is willing to pay more #and the only reason im even managing to get paid what i do is because its a union job #also that the health insurance is fucking amazing #which is the entire reason I have no plans to find a different job unless i absolutely have to

Why can people get away with horrendously overcharging older games

I don’t care how popular a game was, there is no reason a game that came out over a decade ago should cost more than twice as much now, and it especially shouldn’t be more than games coming out right now.

#i forgot that another reason why i dont play pokemon aside from my personal qualms with the gameplay itself #is that i cant fucking find a copy of black that isnt a bazillion dollars #i bought black2 without realizing that it was a ‘fake’ copy #the game works fine but i cant transfer my pokes to bank #which is important to me cause if im gonna play pokemon games then i want my babies in home at some point #i dont wanna just leave them in the game itself and never see them again #so i need a legit copy of black so i can transfer my pokes there then from there to bank and from bank to home #(specifically want black so i can get reshiram since i got zekrom in black2)#but as i was saying i cant fucking find a legit copy of black #people on ebay want close to $80 for it and theres no fucking way im paying that much for a game that came out in like 2010 #pokemon games coming out right now are $60 and thats already a lot #the pokemon games for 3ds were like $30 or $40 i think #theres just no way im paying $80 for a game that old #not pokemon but i had this same issue trying to get ttyd too #thank god its getting remade this year cause otherwise i never wouldve gotten it #people are charging like $50 or more FOR THE CASE ALONE #not the game. THE FUCKING CASE #i do not give a shit how popular or amazing or ‘ahead of its time’ a game is #that is just fucking robbery #i am so filled with visceral rage right now i can barely express it #the ‘you had to be there’ culture surrounding gaming is sooo frustrating i cant express it #its just soooo hostile to new players and im losing my mind #king sad sack

Yknow if Joanne’s really wants to stay in business and thrive again they have to completely redirect their targeted audience. Most people don’t walk into Joanne’s and go “god I REALLY want to get hundreds of dollars worth of Easter decor, and yards and yards of gold metallic brocade and this specialty st Patrick’s day flannel”

Most people walk into Joanne’s and go “man I’m like 5 black buttons short for my project” and then they go to the button isle and all of the buttons are ornately designed except for the single overpriced bag of regular black buttons.

#they need to start carrying plain shit #I’m not even kidding #bags of plain buttons #rows of plain old matte polyester satin #just like a lot of really basic fabrics in a variety of colors #bulk isles of big roles of bias tape #Walt talks #if Joanne’s could offer me a plain ass no design selection of plain ass polyester fabrics in a wide variety of color #for about 10 dollars give or take a yard #I’d actually shop there on a semi frequent basis #right now I only go to Joanne’s for felt; thread; and the occasional button run #which means I’m there maybe 3 times a year #I know everything at Joanne’s has to be marked up because they’re paying bills and employees #but I feel like their priority choice in products isn’t doing them any good #like chill out on the 50 st patricks day flannels and get a little more enthusiastic about plain 4 way stretch fabrics

vibrating bc I just realized it'd be very feasible to see one of my favorite bands live for the first time later this year

#concert-going has always been so hard bc I'd always have to haul ass back to chicago to see anything. when I lived in my old college town #and for the past few years I've mostly been too broke to buy tickets for anything anyway #but I live downtown in a different city now #a city where bands come sometimes...#they're gonna be a bus ride away and I could afford to go #not gonna buy the tickets yet bc a 50 dollar purchase is intimidating. but.#absolutely worth making that purchase in a paycheck or two #even with my mixed feelings on their newer stuff. seeing the front bottoms live would be a transcendent fucking experience for me #I wonder what I'd have to do to bribe them into playing joanie lmao #fr tho I'm so hyped about this #it's gonna be on a work night. but even so #I can do it!!#it's such a miracle living in a place I actually like and having a job that pays me liveably #holy shit #invasion of the frogs
