when the 1.6 patch notes said "pets that love you will sometimes bring you gifts" i did not think that meant my cat would head to the lake, wrestle a fish twice his size out of the water, and drag it home to me

Inuyasha's life before canon is exceptionally tragic to me.
He was born into grief. His father gave his life for him to be born, and his mother too, though her's was a lengthier death. She gave up her status and any acceptance she might have found, in favor of raising him. After she died, Inuyasha had NO ONE. He was a child, and he was all alone, knowing firsthand that there was absolutely no one in the world who wanted him. In fact, every human and demon he's ever encountered has made it clear they wish he would die, or that he'd never been born.
He has to live with this, knowing that the entire world is factually against his existence.
So he learns to be tough. He grows spines to protect himself and he lashes out first. It's too painful to hope, but he still does. It's too painful to try and connect, but he still does...
In spite of all the anguish and cruelty he has suffered, his heart remains kind. He can't bring himself to hate, the way that they hate him. He was born of love and it lives inside him, protecting him so that he can still be vulnerable, so that he can still find love, in spite of it all.

All this time, I wandered in my mind palace and get out a little more of what I remember about my most beloved man (read as Sakuma Rei).
so here are twelve more things about my boy that I think about at night☆
1. His current desire is to try everything new and interesting that is in this world and live his life as fully and vividly as possible.
2. He likes any kind of music, whether it's jazz songs, pop music, cute nursery rhymes and even bossa nova. And if possible, he would like to try to sing it all (imagine Rei singing children's songs and be touched)
3. He tends to pamper people he is attached to (especially if they are younger than him).
4. When Rei is weak, he tries to make physical contact with people and get them to share their warmth.
5. He believes that it would not be so bad if his IQ level became lower.
6. He gets more sleepy when he worries.
7. When he loses his temper, he can start speaking with "Oresama Rei" intonation.
8. If he starts sharing his worrying with others, he thinks he's starting to complain about life. therefore, he very quickly turns the conversation to another topic.
9. Despite his omniscient reputation, he sometimes does not understand the motives of others, and also has difficulty self-awareness.
10. He's sure that everything he learned during his own life was in order for Ritsu to live well and happily.
11. Sometimes he plays the guitar to relieve stress.
12. The experience of the "average employee" seems new to him. And he doesn't seem to really want to take the lead again.
Every time I write something like this, just know that I'm looking at you now with puppy-dog eyes and saying something like "Is he cute? Tell me he's cute. The sweetest in the world, isn't it?"

Throwing some thoughts out there about how fucked it is that people think Aemond needs to “get over” having his eye cut out.
Long story short I have nerve damage in my face due to double jaw surgery and Aemond’s scar goes right through some hefty facial nerves. I would not be surprised if the majority of that part of his face is numb or partially numb due to nerve damage. So that’s facial spasms, migraines, tingling, jaw pain and hot and cold flashes on top of the trauma of losing an eye.
Nerve damage can take years to heal and half the time it never does so Aemond's not just coping with the loss of an eye, it’s chronic pain from being facially disfigured.
