Ready, set, ah fuck Pt 4
This is kind of random and I don’t even know if I’m gonna keep running with it, but thinking about it has been fun so:
What if there’s a super top secret Secret Division in the Navy, where the first rule is that you do not talk about it. Ever, y’feel?
And Mav and Goose were actually just about to be recruited/reassigned when the incident with Cougar happened and they went to Topgun? But after, a few years maybe, Mav gets sent there.
The whole situation is, as mentioned, super secretive. Only a select few even know the Division exists, and Viper is one of them.
The Division, unlike the standard military deployment/assignment, looks at the individual, their strengths and weaknesses. Maverick, being the way he is, is kind of exactly what they look for in a recruit.
This is still rough, so I’m still figuring out the objectives this division might have lol. What do they do? Why do they do it? WHat’s the goal here?
So far, the only thing I’m certain of is that the division sometimes actively works against the navy/overall government. Like maybe Hydra but well, no eugenics. Free will, maybe.
Almost anyone in the Navy can be recruited for the Division. Pilots, engineers, SEALs, even civilian contractors.
Mostly what I’m stuck on is whether I should just make this purely indulgent and add in like, Tony Stark and Peggy Carter. Arthur and Eames from Inception. Stacker Pentecost, the Hansens and Mako Mori from Pacific Rim. Just go ham with my faves, you know?

Lance makes like a bard and courts Pidge with a good story.
To Find a Princess, You Gotta Kiss a Green Paladin (7.6 words | Rated T | AU | Actor AU)

Turn Over a New Leaf (8.8K words, Complete | Rated T | Fix-it | S8E1 rewrite | Romance | Allura and Lance friendship)
All his life, Lance has craved attention. To be seen as more than the farm boy from Cuba. On the eve of the Galactic Coalition’s final offensive against the Galra, Lance finally learns, with a little help from his friends, that growing up means letting go of what you want and accepting what you need.
In Deep Space Where the Wallflowers Grow (2.4K words | Rated T | Post-Canon | Pidge Salsa Dances)
Pidge Holt is so done with being paraded about the universe, expected to mingle and meet and greet the Galactic Coalition's bigwigs. During a brunch on a Galra cruiser, she retreats to a quiet spot in the stateroom by a vast window to do some stargazing, but her solitude is interrupted by a certain social butterfly.
A Pidge in a Dress is Still a Pidge (5.6K words | Rated T | 1950s AU | Science Fiction)
“Just one dance,” Pidge’s mom had stated. One dance with anyone and Pidge can leave the gala at the Altean embassy, go home, take off this beautiful but totally not-Pidge ballgown and go back to being a tomboy girl genius. Alas, the only available dance partners are creeps who are trying to suck-up to Admiral Sam Holt through his daughter. It's gonna be a long evening
Shapeshifter, Shapeshifter, Shape Me a Match (6.1K words | Rated G | Fantasy AU | Shapeshifter Lance)
On a quiet little farm, a mischievous shapeshifter meets his match in a studious girl.
It Is You I Have Loved (A Collection of Plance Fanart and Short Fiction) (Ongoing project)
What it says in the title: drabble plus fanart.
The Tithe (Ongoing story | Rated T | Teen Romance | Pre-Canon | Garrison Trio | Inspired by Tam Lin | Sex Magic)

I Crave None of Your Blood (Ongoing story | Rated M | Post-Canon | Graphic Depictions of Violence | Character Turned in a Vampire | Grief/Mourning | Eventual Sex | Rough Sex)
Lance, Pidge and Keith, three Paladins of Voltron, each carrying a permanent legacy of their Voltron experience, and now pawns of forces that might save or destroy the universe.
Centaur’s Rising (Ongoing story | Rated M | Mild Violence | Grief Mourning | Eventual Sex | Pacific Rim Crossover)
The last place Lance wants to be is in a Conn-Pod, but it may be his best chance at a new beginning, provided he can move on from the past. A retelling, of sorts, of Pacific Rim, featuring Pidge, Lance and Keith.

[20 Question Fic Writer Tag]
I wasn't actually tagged by anyone and I would never usually do this but @ainulindaelynn said anyone could consider themselves tagged and this one looked fun so here I am. 🤪
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
Five! Four one-shots and one multi-chapter WIP.
2. What is your AO3 word count?
16,451
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Currently Assassin's Creed, formerly (but I'm sure I'll be dragged back into it at some point) Star Wars. I also have a bunch of old WIPs for Pacific Rim and (🤢) the MCU but never completed/published any of them.
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
I only have five fics posted so:
Hideaway - 147
Bright Skies - 136
Press On, Move Along - 92
Out of the Cold - 35
Honor Bound - 22
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes! I try to respond to every comment I get, even if it's just a short little acknowledgement. Because I would like people to know I see them and appreciate them so they keep commenting. <3
6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Press On, Move Along. Everyone died, dude.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
Hideaway!
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Not yet! 🤪
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
Yes, as of like... three months ago. I have yet to publish any of it though and it'll probably be a long while before I do, but I also have a little one-shot that may be done long before then if I decide to actually finish it. In terms of "what kind" I think it's pretty vanilla. IDK how else to describe it.🧍🏻‍♀️
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
Not generally, except for the AC Star Wars AU that has taken over my brain. I'm not even sure I would count that as a crossover so much as a fusion AU because there are absolutely no Star Wars characters in it.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
I'm not positive this person was copying my fic, but I distinctly remember not long after I posted Hideaway coming across a fic with the same premise (Din playing hide and seek with the kids on Sorgan), which followed all the exact same plot beats as mine. And I do mean exactly. Obviously the plot itself is not particularly groundbreaking and I think there are plenty of other similar stories out there, but this one was similar enough to set off alarm bells.
I didn't end up doing anything about it because again, I like to give people the benefit of the doubt and it could have easily been a coincidence, but obviously if they had fully reposted my fic then that would be a different story.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Nope!
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Actively written a fic with another person? No. Plotted a fic from start to finish in a months-long series of increasingly deranged DMs? So many times. Hi Parker. :)
14. What's your all-time favourite ship?
Girl... I can't answer this. I don't know about "favourite" but if I had to pick a ship that has made me crazy for the most amount of time, it's probably Mako/Raleigh.
15. What's a WIP you'd like to finish but doubt you ever will?
I still think about my post-Mando s2 fix-it fic every once in a while but I honestly doubt I'll ever finish it. Disney has pretty much killed any care I once had for this show and it fucking sucks. :/
16. What are your writing strengths?
I'm not even being modest right now I just actually don't know lmao. Anything that I might qualify as a strength isn't consistent enough for me to feel justified in calling it a strength.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Overthinking my use of commas, editing while I write, feeling directionless when I don't do enough planning ahead of time but feeling suffocated when I do too much planning ahead of time. Also just being sooooo fucking slow, but I think that can be attributed to the overthinking.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I avoid it as much as humanly possible. If someone is speaking another language I'll usually just note it in the text somehow or, as has been the case with Honor Bound a lot of the time, purposefully write from the POV of a character who doesn't speak that language which, in addition to conveniently sidestepping that issue, works well as a narrative device.
I just absolutely hate the thought of putting Google translated dialogue in a fic and having a native speaker cringe their way through grammatically incoherent dialogue lmao.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Marvel >:(
20. Favourite fic you've ever written?
Honor Bound obviously holds a special place in my heart but Out of the Cold is really good. Like really good IMO.
No-pressure tags: @orphiceonian, @aeide, @findusinaweek, @reiverreturns, @basimibnishaqs, ????? anyone else who wants to <3

Ao3 Ask Game
Thanks @koskela-knights I don't always do these just because I don't ever check if I've been @ ed but I saw this in the tags and figured it would be fun to do
1. How many works do you have on AO3? 194
2. What's your total AO3 word count? 4,744,015 I like to write very long stories typically lol
3. What fandoms do you write for? I write for really whatever I'm hyperfixating on at the moment. Currently that's Alan Wake, but I've written for the Alien series, Marvel and DC (mainly movies but often incorporating comic books characters of plots into them too), Resident Evil, Kingsman, Hannibal, Cobra Kai, Detroit Becomes Human, the list goes on lol. There's a lot
4. Top five fics by kudos Kid. - Eddie/Venom meet MCU Peter for a sort of uncle&nephew kind of relationship like a flower in bloom, how the ink flows over your skin - Ed/Stede modern AU from OFMD Just Another Day - a sequel to Kid. to wake from a life not worth living, is to be born into something new. - Eddie/Richie AU after IT Chapter 2 movie where Eddie survies It Was Never About Jealousy - Detroit Become Human AU where Gavin and Elijah are half siblings and are dealing with a lot of unresolved trauma post good ending of the game
5. Do you respond to comments? Usually. Sometimes I forget and sometimes I worry about spamming people with 'Thank yous' when I can't think of anything else to say, especially on repeat commentors, but in general yes
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? Honestly, my angstiest would be one of my first fics on Fanfiction.net (i have 75 works over there with a few of the later ones having been ported over to Ao3, but definitely not all of them). Are You Coming For Me? was a Lestrade/Mycroft story where Lestrade got kidnapped. It ended with Lestrade being rescued but he was blind and had been tortured and it basically just ended there lol because I didn't know what I was doing at the time. I've written much darker stories since then, but they typically have some form of happy ending after all the darkness, even if it's a twisted happy ending. In that regard, Break Me Slowly, a Gavin/RK900 fic inspired by Hannibal might be my darkest. It has a happy ending. Just one of the characters is basically stockholm syndromed into it lol
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? Probably Mistletoe, a modern Pacific Rim AU about Yancey/Chuck around the holidays. It's mostly just fluff and I enjoyed writing it so much I actually rewrote it. It's mostly the same story with slightly different versions and I'd say better writing in the second version
8. Do you get hate on fics? Very rarely. I got some hate for my OFMD fics, but most of the hate I've gotten in the Uncharted fandom which is sad because it's one of my favorites, and one of my favorite games of all times. I will say I got so much hate on one story in Uncharted that I stopped working on school work for about a month and literally just focused on writing that fic. The irritation of hate mail spurred me to write that one as long and as quickly as possible lol
9. Do you write smut? Occasionally. It depends on what the story calls for. Though even in fics that I've intended as just smutty one-offs, I usually can't help but add more plot. And there's been things intended as smutty that end up having almost no smut because I get so invested in the plot
10. Craziest crossover? I don't write many crossover stories anymore. I was a big Superwholock person so I wrote for that (though all those stories are on FF not Ao3). Otherwise, my crossovers are typically within the same group, like my Alan Wake fics involving elements of Control or all the crossover fics where Saw characters interact with characters from Jigsaw and Spiral to try and bridge the gap between those films. Nothing too crazy though
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? On Amazon, yeah. One of my Alien fics was being sold for like .25 cents or something on Kindle
12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Yep! Several to Russian and I think one to Chinese
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Technically yes, but they don't have Ao3 accounts so it's always just been put under my username
14. All time favourite ship? Hannibal/Will is one of my all-times. I haven't written for Hannibal in a long time, but that fandom will always be special to me and I love rewatching the series and movies. William/Zeke from Spiral are another big one. I really like the fucked up ships lol with lots of moral quandaries
15. What's a wip you want to finish but doubt you ever will? He Fell Hard; I Fell Harder - Jason/Salim from the House of Ashes video game. I've tried going back to it several times but it's largely a fluffy fic with only a few moments of real conflict and I just don't do well with fluff. It's very hard for me to write something fluffy if something horrific or heart breaking isn't going to immediately follow lol
16. What are your writing strengths? I'd say creating large, compelling AUs and worlds. Some of them I've even toyed with making into original stories because just how AU they are compared to the original source material
17. What are your writing weaknesses? Endings. I struggle with endings and a lot of times by the time I get to the ending of a longer fic, I've lost a lot of motivation to write. Again, it's the conflict that I really love to write so once things start to get resolved and end, I struggle
18. Thoughts on dialogue in another language? I've done it a few times for characters that I think require it and it would make sense for them to speak their native language over English. It's definitely difficult though and I try to limit it so it's less likely I'll fuck up a translation. Sometimes to avoid that or if I can't figure out a decent translation, I'll state a character is speaking in their own language rather than writing direct dialogue, if that makes sense
19. First fandom you wrote in? BBC Sherlock Holmes all the way back in 2011 (that fic is on FF) The writing is so bad in it haha
20. Favorite fic you've written? There's a few. My Death Stranding fic, You're the Hero, I'm really proud of just because it's the longest, most expansive fic I've ever written at over 180,000 words. Dancing to the Pain, a Walking Dead crossover with the TV show and the Telltale games, is another favorite because it was unfinished for so long but I did finally get around to writing the last few chapters in it. Even if it took like a year.
My most recent one I'm proud of would be Constant Acceleration Wrapped in Poetry, Darling/Zane modern AU fic from Alan Wake that dealt with a lot of serious issues like grief and survivor's guilt and addiction that I just think I handled really well and in a hopefully satisfying way for the reader
I tag @alphawave-writes, @hoffmanstits-enjoyer, @ratty9boy& just anyone who might want to do this if they haven't already

I have overcaffeinated myself by accident after pulling two opening shifts in a row and listening to fast paced music so. It's time for me to return to rambling about fandom OCs.
Going back to the TRON verse for tonight's focus: Echo, a recompiler that was originally part of the ENCOM system who got copied over to the Grid. Girl has had to deal with the reigns of TWO tyrannical despots. That shit gets old, yo. The fact that both of them have had some connection to Kevin Flynn is not lost on her. Understandably, she has some very mixed opinions on the guy, and Users in general. They aren't bad per se but their track records aren't... great. Not the least bit dependable, really.
(She and my boy Drive were played in the same RP setting but have no real knowledge of each other, except in one crossover AU. Might ramble about that crossover at some point in the future. The basics is that it was a giant mash-up of TRON, MCU and Pacific Rim that @crystalshard and I cooked up years ago at the height of all three fandoms' heyday.
And to those handful of people who know me who are going, 'Wait isn't that Eleven?' Yes. No. Kinda. Echo and Eleven are from the same... evolutionary tree.)
Echo started existence as a repair program on the ENCOM system. She was not a Flynn program; her User was a woman named Kate Terhune. Kate worked for the company for only two years before seeking her fortune elsewhere. The bulk of her programming work was assimilated by ENCOM when she left due to the terms of her contract. The abrupt silence from her User left Echo hurt and confused on the other side of the screen. Had she done something wrong? She had carried out every order ever sent to her. She had been dutiful and obedient. But still, she was never summoned to the I/O towers. For a time she loitered near them until Dumont gently bade her to rest and have patience - somewhere else. Lingering as she was did her no good. She was far from being the first abandoned program he had seen.
And so Echo left. Much as her User had she set out to make the best of the situation. Sure, she might not be receiving any new orders, but she still had a purpose. She didn't need new orders. Healing other programs had been what she was created for and damn if she was not going to do her best at it. User input or lack thereof was irrelevant when she could go out and find injured programs herself. She always had been more flexible than some of her peers when it came to how her directive was carried out...
Things went - okay. Not great, but not terrible, either. Until the MCP came along and fucked things up for everyone. Life became a blur of energy starvation and tyranny. Echo avoided being rounded up and sent to the arenas through sheer luck. She learned to keep her head down and bite back her anger. She learned to fight back in small ways, such as how to siphon minute traces of energy from larger sources (ie: military sources). Rarely enough to be noticed, but just enough to keep a small stash of emergency vials she could give to patients in need of an energy boost. She was fully committed to the life of 'crime' and prepared to continue it until she was caught and executed. Luckily for her, and everyone else, the MCP's reign was eventually ended by the Security program TRON and the User KevinFlynn.
Now, her story could end here. And for one version of her, it did. She would remain in the ENCOM network for who knows how many User years. Updated versions of her were even included in the occasional ENCOM OS releases. Her code was, after all, company property. But we aren't gonna talk about those other versions. We're going to talk about the copy of her that Flynn edited and dropped into his own Grid. Not for any personal reason - Echo had never met the User and vice versa. He just knew her file name was part of enough ENCOM OS versions to trust that she was a solid program to have around.
The Echo of Flynn's Grid rezzed in with a snazzy new suit and jade green circuits and the same mildly acerbic, tenacious personality of the program who had survived the MCP's rule. She mellowed out a bit after adjusting to the new system, where energy flowed freely and the atmosphere was optimistic instead of oppressive. Her role as a medic revolved around patching up programs banged up during their work instead of trying to stave off deresolution caused by prolonged energy deprivation. The Golden Age of the Grid was a complete 180 from the life she'd led in the old system. It was almost... cozy.
Then there were the Games. Echo avoided them like a gridbug nest. Memory files from another life where the Games were the primary means of execution prevented her from getting swept up in the fever. True, 'she' had never experienced them herself, but 'she' had lost friends to them. Witnessing the sharp rise in their popularity left her cold and unsettled. But TRON of the old system kept them fair so... maybe nothing would come of her discomfort over them.
You ever ignore a gut feeling that something is wrong and then kick yourself for ignoring it when you realize that you were right to worry? Yeaaaah. To say that Echo was unsurprised when the Games turned lethal would be an understatement. It was not much later that the Golden Age came to a swift end, with the User KevinFlynn losing control and SysAdmin CLU rising to power. It was like ENCOM all over again...
Echo's fate in the cycles that followed is a bit muddled. Some say she was captured and rectified into a red circuited program assigned to the Arena. Others say that she returned to the life of crime to help those who needed help the most. It is equally debatable whether she was alive by the time Sam Flynn arrived on the Grid.
And now for some miscellaneous facts from the events of the RP game I played her in years ago.
There was, indeed, a red circuited version of Echo. During her tenure in the game she never really accepted CLU's defeat and thus never really adapted to the Free Grid. This was due in part to the rectification process severely cutting her ability to adapt to new things. Her time on the Free Grid ended when she was derezzed by Tesler.
In some poetic justice, a green circuited version of Echo appeared on the Free Grid not long after the red's demise. She was lucky enough to rez in near the same area her predecessor had met her end and ran into Tesler, who was injured at the time. He uh. Rather violently shot down her offer to help him and she ended up derezzing him in self defense. She lost an arm in the process and was BIG MAD about it.
Green circuited Echo has a work partner in the form of a grid dog named Fail. Fail acts as a mobile supply carrier that can accompany her into areas that vehicles can't fit. He is also capable of generating a small forcefield to shield medic and patient in unsafe areas. Also yes, he bites if provoked. She was the one to name him after he managed to get himself locked inside an ERV (emergency response vehicle) three times in their first shift together.
The green circuited Echo that rezzed in was from a future version of the Grid and had a very different disc format. It was a two part structure, with the larger outer piece serving as standard weapon and storage of nonessential information (ie: media files). The part containing her actual programming was a smaller inner disc that fit inside the dock and looked like a jade green tinted piece of glass.
She fits neatly into the "grumpy doctor with a heart of gold" trope. Her dry wit and no nonsense exterior takes some warming up to. Caring for her patients is her first priority and she will do what she has to. In the crossover AU I mentioned above the read-more cut she sacrificed her freedom to save someone in desperate need of medical assistance.
ISOs are fine in her book, though she did have to adjust treatment plans for them just in case. She somehow ended up befriending Gibson before his demise. There were days where he made her want to throttle him but for the most part they got along well, enough so that he trusted her to help other Bostromites here and there.
Bonus pictures, just because.
Tumblr media
(Green circuited Echo is one of the programs that Sam works with once he starts trying to rebuild his father's system. While she is very "meh" about the elder Flynn she does get along with Sam. Mostly because their senses of humor are compatible and they tolerate each other's hardheadedness.)
Tumblr media
(ENCOM Echo carrying around a kitty version of Dumont, drawn by @kesomon. She and Dumont did have a pretty good relationship. He was a great source of wisdom and comfort when she was trying to cope with the absence of her User. After the MCP's downfall they were both delighted to see that the other had survived.)

20 questions writer meme
Thank you @heyholmesletsgo for tagging me :)
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
76 (and counting)
2. What's your total AO3 word count?
1,095,178 at this moment
3. What fandoms do you write for?
I'm currently writing for Visual Prison and The Untamed/MDZS fandoms, but in the past I've written for Star Wars Rebels, the mcu, Supernatural, and a few others
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Maybe not so accidentally (899 kudos). A kalluzeb (star wars rebels) canon divergence AU
A Blind Goddess (657 kudos). Another kalluzeb fic. The star wars rebels fandom is a big one, so I guess it's not a surprise my top 3 fics with most kudos belong to it. It doesn't necessarily mean they're my best fics, only that more people have read them. But I'm grateful anyway.
The Reasons Why (426 kudos). Also a kalluzeb fic, and the first one I ever posted in English (I had only written in my own language until then). It was nerve-wracking to take that step but everyone's response was so kind it encouraged me to continue.
We Weren't Always Like This (413 kudos). This is a matchablossom fic (SK8 the Infinity), the first of the two fics I've written for that pairing.
No es la sangre (401 kudos). A thorki AU. This one is in Spanish
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Of course! The comments are a place to fangirl with people who are just as enthusiastic about the OTP as you are, what's not to like? Maybe I don't always reply as fast as I should, but I enjoy doing it.
6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
I think most of my fics have a happy ending, I'm a basic bitch and proud of it. The only exception I can recall is It's not over, a destiel fic that was inspired by episode 5x04 of Supernatural and there's no way a story set in that alternate timeline could end well tbh.
7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
The other 75? XDD. Okay, fine, there are two fics in which the happy ending felt very satisfactory to me because the characters went through quite a lot of angst to get there: Under the Spotlight (songxiao, The Untamed/MDZS) and Take my hand, take my whole life too (sagamist, Visual Prison)
8. Do you get hate on fics?
No, I've been really lucky in that regard
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I do, but I'm pretty vanilla about it. I think the kinkiest thing I've ever written was some light bondage and very soft dom/sub dynamics.
10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?
El vínculo más profundo. It's more of a fusion than a crossover actually. The characters are from the movie "Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters" but the story is set in the Pacific Rim universe. It was fun to write
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Yes, it happened a couple of times with No es la sangre. Someone took it and posted it as their own, first on ffnet and then on wattpad. I don't think it was the same person in both cases. One of the (many) advantages of writing for small fandoms, as I do now, is that the chances of that kind of thing happening are almost zero.
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Partially. Someone started translating No es la sangre into English, but they got busy and stopped after a while. I've thought about translating it myself but to be honest, I don't have the energy.
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
Yes, a very long time ago, with a very dear friend of mine. It was for the X-Files fandom.
14. What's your all-time favorite ship?
This is the most difficult question of this whole meme. I can't choose one, I love my ships dearly. I'd have to name at least five.
15. What's a wip you want to finish, but doubt you ever will?
I only have two wips currently in the works and I intend to finish both of them.
16. What are your writing strengths?
Action scenes, I think. Sometimes dialogue.
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
Pacing, infodumping, knowing how to let a story breathe and not rushing it. Those are the things I find more difficult to get right.
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
If the story needs it, and if it's a language I know well, why not?
19. First fandom you wrote for?
The X-Files. Yeah, it's been a while
20. Favorite fic you've written?
I changed my mind, this one is actually the most difficult question. Aaah, I don't know, I tend to associate my fics with the community I get to enjoy through them, you know? It's not about how proud I am of the fic itself, it's about the whole experience. I am very fond of En la prórroga because I wrote it as a birthday gift for a friend and she loved it. I'll always love Under the Spotlight because it was my doorway to the songxiao fandom, where I have met some of the most amazing people you can find on the Internet. The same for Can't go back anymore, my first visupri fic, because I got to become part of an incredible group of friends thanks to it. And then there's Baby, It's Cold Outside and all the fun we had while I was posting that one. I'm overwhelmed by the response I've received to Maybe not so accidentally and No es la sangre, because I never expected any fic of mine to become so loved by anyone. So how am I going to choose just one?
Tagging @dreamyguns @ardilla-cocainomana @malalechan and whoever else wants to answer

20 Questions Fic Writer Tag Thank you so much for the tag, @grapenehifics This looks so much fun!! 1.) How many works do you have on ao3? Officially 37 but like ... 25 of those are part of the Kinktober Series and another 6 for the Obianidala Series. So, 6? :D
2.) What's your ao3 word count?  132,934 Woof! Nice! 3.) What fandoms do you write for?  At the moment, purely Star Wars. I have three story in the MCU verse but that was a long time ago :D
4.) What are your top five fics by kudos? Counting down, Ms Mojo style! 5: When Sorrow Sang (MCU, Thor/Loki, AU, Discontinued) 4: Half-Pass and Half-Pipes (Star Wars, Obi-Wan/Anakin, Olympics AU, Almost finished :D) 3: Heel (Star Wars, Obi-Wan/Anakin, Sith AU, UFO) 2: Like Puppets on a Broken String (Star Wars, Obi-Wan/Anakin, Fix It GffA, UFO) 1: Flying Blind (MCU, Steve/Tony, Oneshot) Okay, the fact that ... Heel with it's less than 2K words being above all 10 chapters of Half-Pass cracks me up xD The Sith-Thirst is SO real!
5.) Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? Always! I am so, so grateful for every single comment I receive and I want to let people know! Also ... comment conversations/exchanging thoughts are the best!!
6.) What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? A Tapestry of Broken Hope ... which makes sense because it follows canon :D and does it get angstier than that?
7.) What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? This would be such a spoiler but ... Half-Pass! I mean ... common! We all know where this is going 🎩💍🎩💕
8.) Do you get hate on fics? Fortunately, I have not gotten any. I'd probably just delete the comment, though (not that I would not hurt ...)
9.) Do you write smut? If so what kind? *glances at 25 stories of Kinktober* ... I try. I gotta admit though ... the heavier stuff ... is probably gonna go back into my reading-only corner :D
10.) Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? I have written a MCU/Pacific Rim Crossover :D Find it here! I like it!
11.) Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I'm aware of and I hope it stays that way!
12.) Have you ever had a fic translated? No. I thought about translating on my own into German but ... haven't gotten around to it. I think it would be an interesting challenge actually. That being said ... I'd love if anyone did it. (Or Podfic any of mine ... like ... that would be incredible)
13.) Have you ever cowritten a fic before? Not in the traditional sense I think, but I've exchanged thoughts voraciously with @grapenehifics on Half-Pass, and I'm currently collaborating with @wibzenadarksiderwithasoftheart on the new Dancing with the Stars AU (Coming to an Archive of our Own near you soon!)
14.) What's your all time favorite ship? Don't make me chose! (Obikin ... who am I kidding?)
15.) What's a WIP you'd like to finish, but doubt you ever will? When Sorrow Sang was actually a very cool idea and I remember being so hyped about it but then the energy just fizzled out.
16.) What are your writing strengths I hate this question 🥺 I don't know :( I'm not good at praising myself
17.) What are your writing weaknesses? Overthinking, Conversations, Cohesion?
18.) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I love bringing the element of multi-linguality into stories. Sometimes I will use my native tongue as a stand-in for non-basic (in SW terms :D)
19.) First fandom you wrote for? Harry Potter
20.) Favorite fic you've ever written? Nah ... I'm not doing this! :D (I do adore Half-Pass ...) I'm tagging YOU! Yes, you! Reading this rn!!

Tagged by @fezwearingjellybananas! thank you!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
117 (115 of which are solo authored)
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
810,361 (717,002 of which are solo authored, and more than a quarter of that is just mitm 😂)
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Whatever catches my attention long enough to give me a fic idea that I finish writing, honestly! I'm fully of the 'scroll twice to get to the end of my fandoms list' writer. But for specifics I'll try to just stick to the past two years, where I've collaborated on fic for USS Interpreter - a cast of original Star Trek ttrpg characters, the Spider Gwen comics (and Squirrel Girl comics), Star Trek Strange New Worlds (and Discovery, and a bit of TOS), Spider Man 2017, Raimi Spider Man, The Flash, IDW Transformers, The Untamed by way of Murderbot fusion/crossover, and Arcane
4. What are your top five fics by kudos?
Does It Hurt? - MCU CACW fix-it fic, with Tony and Bucky, and tonyrhodey
Don't Miss It - Ford and Mabel Gravity Falls Weirdmaggedon fic, optimistic speculation at the time
Meet in the Middle - My very, very, veeery long-ongoing driftrod fic
More than This - Aro (and ace) Obi-Wan
What You (Don't) Need to Hear - Aro Stanford and Dipper Pines
I do love that 2/5 of these are aro-centric fic
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
Yes! I love comments and I enjoy replying, and from talking to regular readers I think it helps encourage folks to comment. It's never something I expect from when I comment on other's fics, I just want to share my appreciation, but I always am happy to get replies myself.
6. What’s the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
Restraining myself to the past two years for specifics, I think You're Just A Little Boy, my transmasc La'an fic, has the most outright Unhappy Ending - at least for this fic, I might write a more hopeful follow up. I'll throw in when you're gone we won't say a word (but you know that's okay), my alternate future Pike fic, goes in for the most bittersweet, and I've definitely cried the most over it
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I write a lot of happy endings, but they're often threaded with a bit of angst or bittersweetness. Fungus Not-Amongus is altogether pretty delightful fluff for Tilly and Pike, though.
8. Do you get hate on your fic?
I have once or twice, but not for a good long while, I've been quite lucky
9. Do you write smut?
Not yet! Got a project or two down the pipe that might have some, but it's not something I typically write
10. Do you write crossovers?
Yes! All the time. In the past couple years, I've written Ghosts in Your Head, Ghosts in My Head, The Flash fic in a Pacific Rim setting, more of a fusion setting, but I'll count it. Intersections, with Spider Gwen & Squirrel Girl, which are technically both Marvel Comics, but I'll count them as a crossover event in the comics spirit. Artificial Survivor is more of a Untamed fic in a Murderbot fusion setting, but the Murderbot characters are technically alluded to, so I'll count that too. Plus there's the Star Trek/Star Wars crossover with Star Trek OC's I'm helping out on. Generally you can find a lot of crossovers I've written, I find them really fun.
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Not to my knowledge
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
Yes! A reader asked to translate a tonyrhodey fic a few years back
13. Have you ever co-written a fic?
Given that I specified solo-authored fics above, you can probably guess the answer to that is yes! 😁 I'm co-writing fic about ttrpg Star Trek characters - I play & write Chief Engineer Piper Hawthorne. @severeannoyance is our captain and @plokoonsdisapprovingeyebrows is our Star Wars expert for our Star Wars crossover fic.
14. What‘s your all-time favourite ship?
Given that MITM is 1/4 of my solo wordcount, and I have updated it in the past two years, it's probably gotta be driftrod, at least for this ask. ask me next week, you might get a different answer 😂
15. What’s the WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I have a West Wing / X-Men 2 crossover that's been sitting in docs for many many years. I might release some of the finished scenes at some point, like I did with E2bard, because there's lots of good stuff and I always have fun with the West Wing character voices
16. What’s your writing strengths?
Dialogue, introspection, and replicating particularly strong character and narrative voices
17. What’s your writing weaknesses?
I tend to repeat phrases and overuse dashes, and don't expect much setting description XD
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?
I usually just indicate that something's in another language and keep it in the same language as the rest of the fic - English for me, I'm currently pretty monolingual, but I think other options are perfectly workable for other authors.
Not actually related to the question, but I've gotten comments in other languages or with phrases in other languages, and I always find them an especially high compliment - that my fic was not only worth reading in a language that wasn't someone's first, but that they also put in the time to leave a comment. I usually have to use a bit of google translate and ask my bilingual friends for help translating (thank you), but all the comments have been very nice.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
I think I wrote what was Star Wars fanfic for vocab assignments back in middle school, though I didn't know that was what it was called. My first published fic was for Bleach.
20. Favourite fic you’ve ever written?
Sticking in the past two years, Ghosts in Your Head, Ghosts in My Head is one I'm really proud of. And of course I have to mention Meet in the Middle, something I've stuck with for more than five years at this point.
tagging @severeannoyance and @plokoonsdisapprovingeyebrows plus @philcoulsonismyhero and @vetoing-clocks if yall want! Plus a blanket tag for anyone who wants to!

mervol odd numbers 👀
What originally drew me to it? oh, you're asking me this question taylor? huh? you?
well i'll FUCKING tell you. one day an unnamed, mysterious friend of mine said "hey jemi wandavision would make a great phantom manor au" and promptly sent me spiraling into this hell from which there is no escape. fuck you.
no but fr i wasn't interested in marvel at all until i decided to watch wandavision to try and scratch the phantom manor hyperfixation itch and now i'm here forever.
A character I want to carry around in a little jar and study like a bug loki, obviously. if someone's answer to this isn't loki, i'm concerned about them.
bonus fandom subspecies answers: angry tony stark fans, wanda stans, people who can't let go of endgame, people who are somehow still unfathomably mad about she-hulk
The character who gives me the greatest gender envy i'm cis :pensive: but if i had to answer: sylvie and okoye
A character who feels like home my beloved wamda <3
vision also by proxy
The character I'd most enjoy feeding to a pride of ravenous lions uhhhhh hayward i guess. fuck that guy
A ship that makes me want to look into the camera like I'm on The Office people who ship wanda and stephen i am so sorry but to me they give off the profound energy of a ship that would have a billverly it chapter 2 kiss where they go in for it, linger a sec and then pull back with a mutual ".......yeah i got nothing"
The non-canon pairing I find the most intriguing i was about to say most of my ships are canon but then i remembered jen/monica :) i hope the writer of that one fic knows how much they changed my life
A character/story arc that bores me to tears whatever the fuck was going on with the american government in wakanda forever so they could shoehorn some white people into the story
The line of dialogue I quote most often its past midnight and there is so much mcu please don't make me answer this
Crossovers/AUs that pique my interest one day i will sit down and somehow share the elaborate pacific rim au where wanda and loki have a raleigh and mako arc AND THEN YOU'LL ALL SEE
also like everything we've rped ever. obviously.

20 questions for fic writers!
I was tagged by @firebatvillain :D!
1. How many works do you have on AO3?
I have 148 works on AO3
2. What’s your total AO3 word count?
I have 740,203 words in total. I added 59,061 words this year
3. What fandoms do you write for?
Supernatural (TV 2005) (32) Naruto (16) Doctor Who (12) Interview with the Vampire (TV 2022) (11) Black Clover - Tabata Yuki (Anime & Manga) (10) The Avengers (Marvel Movies) (8) Star Trek: Alternate Original Series (Movies) (8) Sherlock Holmes & Related Fandoms (8) Tennis no Oujisama | Prince of Tennis (7) Banana Fish (Anime & Manga) (7) Sherlock (TV) (7) Teen Wolf (TV) (5) My Hero Academia (Anime & Manga) (5) Spider-Man (Movies - Raimi) (4) Hawaii Five-0 (2010) (3) Death Note (Anime & Manga) (3) X-Men (Movieverse) (3) xxxHoLic (2) Whitechapel (TV) (2) Sherlock Holmes - Arthur Conan Doyle (2) Star Trek (2) Captain America (Movies) (2) Hannibal (TV) (2) Pacific Rim (Movies) (2) One Piece (Anime & Manga) (1) CSI: NY (1) Spider-Man - All Media Types (1) The Venture Bros (1) Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon | Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon (Anime & Manga) (1) Kakuriyo: Bed & Breakfast for Spirits (Anime) (1) Suite Life on Deck (1) My Life in Film (TV) (1) Boruto: Naruto Next Generations (1) Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle (1) Daredevil (TV) (1) Gundam 00 (1) Vampire Chronicles Series - Anne Rice (1) Star Trek: The Next Generation (1)
4. What are your top 5 fics by kudos?
Our Soulmate Academia (BnHA (MHA)) - 355
Pain (Banana Fish (manga!verse)) - 280
Crush (SuperWolf (SPN/Teen Wolf (MTV))) - 256
A Gift (Avengers (MCU)/Daredevil (Netflix)) - 219
Best Laid Plans (Banana Fish (manga!verse)) - 203
5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not?
I always respond because it seems like the polite thing to do especially now that people don't leave as many comments as they used to back the 00's on ff.net
6. What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?
You Can't Stay Blind - (SuperWho (SPN/Doctor Who)) - the Eleventh Doctor runs into Crowley who's wearing a too familiar face
In the Pasture of a Vale (Supernatural) - Dean runs into Adam and Ben five years post-season 5 (written back in 2010)
7. What’s the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?
I think I always end up with a kind of mixed emotion ending like Best Laid Plans or Our Soulmate Academia, so it's difficult to remember the truly happy ones. The most recent happy ending would be The Mystery in the Fog (ACD!Holmes) where Holmes and Watson end up at the same secret wedding of an underground queer club they're both members of unbeknownst to each other and have some revelations
8. Do you get hate on fics?
Sometimes I do. The most infamous incident was the time I wrote a fic speculating on who Castiel's vessel might have been before I got to Jimmy's episode in my binge watch back in the day. The reviewer went into gruesome detail on how I was going to burn in Hell for my fic. It was unreal. I just deleted the fic and then went on to write several more SPN fics as you do.
9. Do you write smut? If so, what kind?
I've written smut a handful of times for fics and more often than that for RP since that's part of the RP culture I fell into in university. Most of my smut fics have been orphaned now, but the one that remains is Swallow My Fang at Night Island (Interview with the Vampire (AMC)) I approach smut like I approach fight scenes so I can keep track of the flow of action. I keep my own personal kinks out of it and try to write a scene I think the audience would look for instead
10. Do you write crossovers? What’s the craziest one you’ve written?
I've written 15 crossovers. I enjoy them tbh. In terms of plot, the craziest one I wrote was Distortion (BBC Sherlock/My Life in Film) where Jones was hired to play Moriarty and things get way too real. In terms of titles crossed over, the craziest one is probably The Hokage (Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicle/Naruto)
11. Have you ever had a fic stolen?
Yes, ages ago. It's why I'm my own beta reader or Kitty Britpicks me because I can trust her
12. Have you ever had a fic translated?
I had some requests but I've never been alerted to the final products
13. Have you ever co-written a fic before?
My brother and I regularly cowrote fics together when I was in high school and he was in middle school. If you ever read a Trigun script-based crack fic in the 00's with the phrase "Love and peace! Doves and geese! Change the world!" or "Another carnival ride with cotton candy," that was us.
14. What’s your all time favourite ship?
I don't think I actually have one because I'm a multi-shipper and I have so many favorites. That said, it might be inuyasha/Kagome since I always had an Inuyasha fic in rotation (usually more than one though) from 2001 - 2007 or so. Unfortunately they've all been lost to time. According to my AO3 relationship toggle in the filters sidebar, it's Destiel (7) and Devil's Minion (7)
15. What’s a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?
I have a BnHA fic from before we learned what Hagukure's powers were where she sent Class-A and Aizawa back in time to Yagi's high school years to do a kind of Tenchi in Love (1996) type of plot where they had to stop a time traveler from murdering Yagi. I wrote quite a bit of it but it stalled on me when Midoriy and Nana interacted and I wasn't completely sure how to get that to work
16. What are your writing strengths?
The most consistent thing I get complimented on are my fight sequences, which is why it's sad I lost all my IY fics because I wrote so many fights for them
17. What are your writing weaknesses?
My memory is a sieve and some of the holes are too big
18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?
I've done it before because I was a weeb and it was a trend in the 00's. Not sure I'd do it again now that I've matured past that.
19. First fandom you wrote for?
Technically fairytales. I retold Cinderella when I was so little my mom had to write it down for me because I couldn't write yet. I drew pictures to go with the narration
20. Favourite fic you’ve written?
The Land Across the Sea (Black Clover/Boruto) - Boruto ride a tsunami to Clover Kingdom and the knights have to take him back home, which is also Yami's homeland.
I got the idea for this fic when a friend and I were talking about what we'd want the Black Clover movie to be about when it was first announced. Then I took my idea of Yami getting to return to his homeland and made it a crossover because I like the idea of Yami and Naruto knowing each other from back in the day.

A concept:
Somewhere in the multiverse, outside of conventional space and time, there is a bar.
Post-Winter Soldier Steve Rogers, post-Uprising Hermann Gottlieb, and One Last Choice!Verity Willis are in that bar.
Annabelle Raises The Dead is playing in the background.
There is drinking and there is angsting.
And then plotting ensues.
After all, Steve is Captain America, Hermann is a genius, and Verity has a magical anti-bullshit sword.
What could possibly go wrong?

For your "Writers would you ever..." Meme... Would you ever consider writing a crossover of two of your favorite fandoms and what would happen if your two favorite ships met?
I would be so down for that! I think Middle Earth in general is a little hard to crossover with other non-fantasy worlds (you could maybe do Discworld, or Dragon Age? But even then you get a lot of WHAT IS THAT directed at Bilbo as a hobbit so it sort of precludes a serious fic).
Actually, I’ve been lately thinking about how well Newt and Hermann from Pacific Rim would fit into the MCU. I mean you just know that if there were aliens suddenly appearing, Newt would be there on the frontlines, and likewise Hermann for all his assumed stuffiness would probably leap at the chance to study space travel once said aliens like the Chitauri but also Thor started showing up.
I could easily envision a crossover where they work for SHIELD, or post Winter Soldier for Stark Industries, for example, and somehow meeting Steve and Bucky in the course of trying to solve the questions of how Earth deals with hostile aliens like Thanos. I can’t easily envision them having much to say to Steve and Bucky, just because both pairs are fairly different in the way they’d be tackling such a threat. But I already had an idea for a very small drabble where Newt is trying to complete some of Hermann’s research after Hermann gets dusted as a result of IW1.
