I just watched the Alondra video you shared and WOWWW!!! I looovee how after she put down the baton she fully embodies the music, emotions, and the dynamics of the piece!! It's also so amazing to watch her direct the bow movement of the violin section with her whole body. Also, I haven't heard Danzón no.2 before and this is such a fun piece!!! And the clarinet player definitely looks like Mr. Bean 😂 but, also I feel like the piccolo player is a giant!!! His hand is was definitely larger than the piccolo 😂

Ahhh hi Paganini anon!

Isn’t Alondra absolutely amazing?? I’m truly obsessed and a little in love with her. She has a such a special and unique conducting style, i just haven’t seen many other people on her level. It’s so refreshing to have a conductor love their job so much and show it on stage (so many of them have horrific anger issues and just look angry 99% of the time, lol). But yes, Danzón No. 2 is one of my favorite pieces to both play & listen to, cannot recommend it enough. Arturo Márquez is so gifted and I love anything he composes.

I was reading the comments before watching the video and a few people kept typing Mr Bean, but it still not to prepare me for the camera to cut to this man 😭 I honestly didn’t notice the piccolo player until you pointed him out but my god, he really is a giant of a man. And such a tiny instrument!! 😂

Not the same anon but there are TWO websites, one is thereisnowebsitedotcom.com, which is the one with the countdown and thereisnowebsite.com, that one has like 3 images (one is that one french pipe image, a portrait of a lady and a guy and a quote of the diamond sutra with colored words, if you put whatever word in the pipe image you get the portrait one, and in the portrait if you put niccolo paganini it gets you to the sutra one, on the the sutra one putting anything gets you back to the portrait).

The second one seems unrelated to Gravity Falls and the domain has been registered since 1999, and has been a thing since early 2000's. So it's an easy mistake to make, but yeah the GF related has the "dotcom" Added in the URL before the actual .com to differentiate

What music artists/genre would the MK characters listen to?

Kei Soejima

This is a bit easier for me to notice it from his route but Kei is heavily tied to classical music overall, whether it’s him who chose the music or someone else. Considering his upbringing and culture it also makes sense that he would probably like it. He listens to religious songs as well, such as Ave Maria. Now I’m not sure if he actually likes religious songs but it must at least be nostalgic for him.

He has also been playing “Paganini’s 24 Caprices” on the violin in his Best vs First story. He attends many social events where such musics can be heard since he’s a noble. And during Caleb’s dinner trap, both Kei and MC fell asleep while a classical music was playing in the background, back in his Sacrificial Lover story.

I can see Kei listening to such music and appreciate it, and for me classical music acts as a sort of leitmotiv in his story

Kazuomi Shido

I think Kazuomi would appreciate any type of music that is glamorous or epic, such as musics that come from Hollywood movies. He doesn’t like being bored and loves stimulation, and while he can appreciate art in its many forms, ballads don’t seem to be his favorite thing. It can be seen in Yuzuru’s S1 when it’s Yuzuru’s turn to host the Masquerade restaurant’s events. Yuzuru chose a romantic ballad, and Kazuomi comments about how it lacks some sort of excitement and that he would have chosen something else.

When I think about Kazuomi, I’m thinking of how enticing and extravagant he is. He draws people in, through his charisma and attractiveness. I also think about how much he likes burlesque shows. I immediately would pick a sort of jazzy genre for him. I’m not too knowledgeable about the names of music genres, but after some research I think he would really be into Cabaret music, Swing and Jazz, and maybe Electro Swing as well.

Anything theatrical, sexy, mesmerizing, a bit epic and fun would probably fit his tastes. I’m not sure what genre the 2 romantic soundtracks of MK fit into, but they embody perfectly Kazuomi’s charm in my opinion

Yuzuru Shiba

As mentioned earlier, Yuzu chose a ballad in his S1 when it was his turn to host the party at Masquerade. It seems he likes this type of music, as when MC said how beautiful the performance was, the other guys commented how perfect they were for each other if MC can appreciate something Yuzu chose himself according to his own tastes.

Considering that he grew up for some time in Italy, it could be that he enjoys some genres that have an Italian influence as well, such as any music with a melodic and emotive vibe to it.

I can see Yuzu enjoying classical music like Kei as well, especially because when he was younger, he created a phonograph for Jun so she could listen to her collection of classical records. It doesn’t mean Yuzu himself is interested in classical music, but it wouldn’t be odd if it were the case

Seiichi Setoyanagi (Boss)

This time it’s not easy for me to picture a specific type of musical genre when it comes to Seiichi. I’m sure that as a part of his job, he must be at least a bit knowledgeable about the genres if he ever needs to create an alias with certain tastes, or if it’s his alias’ profession to work with music. However as an individual, I think he would be the type to prefer silence or the sounds of nature over any particular music.

I can’t remember any moment where there is a specific genre being mentioned for him or where he listens to anything. He seems to enjoy his peace and quiet when he’s not working due to his job, so I can picture him appreciating the sound of his environment. Sounds of crickets, tree branches in the wind, rain, etc…

Given his career, it wouldn’t be unlikely that compared to most people, silence is the most effective sound for him to relax

Masquerade Kiss MC

She is quite the romantic at heart, and finds Yuzu’s ballad during his S1 beautiful. She also likes the Mission Impossible movies so it could be that she likes epic musics as well. On a compatibility level, she is similar to Kazuomi when it comes to liking Broadway shows and their interest in movies. However, she’s more into romantic French films rather than American ones compared to him, so I’d say she likes romantic, and maybe even sensual songs.

Romantic ballads might be more of her thing. Just like the Boss, she must be quite knowledgeable about music enough for her to be able to create an alias, or maybe because she’s just into it, because in Kei’s route, she recognizes instantly the music that Kei plays on the violin. She also recognizes the long classical music played in Caleb’s residence in Sacrificial Lover.

I can’t be sure if she likes classical music as well, but I think any of them could enjoy it to some extent. In my opinion, anything that sets a romantic, heartfelt and emotive mood would be her type

On a side note, MC reminds me of the songs “Moonlight” by Kali Uchis, or the instrumental version of “Nothing Burns Like the Cold” by Snoh Aelegra when she’s in her seductive agent mode ♥️💋

respectfully, i have to disagree with prev antonio anon on a couple things. the song on the single string may be what causes the demon to take hold, but it doesn't cause full possession if played more than once. in the updated letter- which is almost certainly post-tampering- antonio was still said to be himself. he was acting odd with the letter he got, yes, but he was still himself. he was also still himself at the manor until after his overdose. andrea's inclusion gave antonio a known reason to go to the manor, to apologize for the demon taking control and to explain things to her. and while perhaps not the best written, it was something. it gave us a look into antonio's personal life after he managed to escape the princess, a different facet of his story that hadn't been seen yet. it also parallels the real paganini having been in an abusive relationship with a singer, and antonio's story is full of the same or similar hardships paganini faced.

Hiiii again!!

I had a phenomenal time at the concert!!! I went to see was Yuja Wang's piano recital and when I say my mind was blown I truly mean my mind was blown. I couldn't even form proper sentences afterwards. She also played like 6, maybe 7 I lost track, encores after having played 8 pieces. She is truly so talented and so captivating to watch. She is such a beast and played for almost 3 hours!! Although I did see that she did a Rachmaninoff marathon so she definitely has the endurance! Also the outfits, shoes, and her iconic bow was EVERYTHING!! sorry I'm just geeking out over here 😂🥴

Yes, of course. I am always down to rant about my spins. :)

Now, some context for those who don't know. TwoSet violin is a duo of post-professional violinists (they quit to do YouTube) who are working to make classical music more relevant in the younger generations.

They created a fake k-pop band called B2TSM (Bach, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich, Mozart) that is comprised of all the famous, long dead classical music composers listed. They released a song titled Duh Duh Duh Duh, with each of them singing/rapping a part, and Paganini coming in at the end with a violin cadenza. (a quick, fancy solo within a solo basically)

Then, later, there was a video released of Paganini reacting to a BLACKPINK song that featured a couple bars from La Campanella, a violin piece Paganini wrote, and Mozart featured at the end of the video as well. That then led to Paganini and Mozart releasing a parody of the BLACKPINK song they reacted to, which ended up leading to a bunch of controversy and a hate mob. (That is why I'm not on twitter.)

After that (and also their 4 mil concert) Twoset released another video in the B2TSM cannon that showcased the hate they got during that debacle. I won't be getting into the specifics of that video, because while it is interesting and humorous in parts, the comments featured in it leave a less-than-pleased taste in one's mouth and if you're curious enough you can look it up yourself.

Anyways, before this fake band was just a one-off thing and I myself didn't think it would go anywhere, but now there's a canon and there's shipping and it's great.

TL;DR: Two ex-pro violinists created a fake k-pop band made up of a bunch of classical music composers and now the band has released two songs and a drama response video.

5) Imagine if we all shared a playlist, the chaos. You said Tan dabbles in classical music so it's funny to imagine that after a song that us or Lem put on the playlist ended, Caprice No.24 In A Minor by Niccolò Paganini starts playing

8- im thinking quite a bit of laughs and “can’t believe you broke the bed” maybe he’d shrug and collect his things to head off to the spare room. maybe we’re like “where you going?” and he’s all casual, getting into the bed in ONE OF THE MANY spare rooms. and maybe we’re like “can we sleep on the sofa tonight?” maybe he gets a bad back on there so he’s hesitant, but he can’t say no to us. as much as I don’t particularly like the trait, I do think he’s quite casual about broken possessions (he has money now so he’s more carefree about things, but hasn’t always been) and so he’s like “we can just get another one” bc now he doesn’t have to worry about money

1- oooo okay so. im thinking no, but lem has a room at the house (and it’s decorated and IS his room, not just a spare one he sleeps in) so lem is welcome to sleep over at anytime. in the house I used, I think it’s fairly common for another house to be on the property or to be right on the cusp of it. I think they live right next door, so that way they can be near each other, but still get their own space. I do hc lem as more of a city person and tan as a countryside/ rural person. so maybe lem has another flat in the city
