preshow hangout q+a! london 28 sept

I was at the show again tonight (I got to go on friday too!) and it was sooo good! I also got to go to the pre show hangout, so here’s some highlights from the q+a - putting under the cut as it’s v long and maybe a little spoilerish so....

- dan had lots of people he knows coming to the show tonight and was trying not to think about how how much ‘adult content’ there is and how they might react

- he had to remove some grandma jokes from the cardiff show because of the queen's funeral

- what disney prince would he bang? Immediate answer was the beast, then he clarified he meant in human form, then switched to aladdin

- people have mocked him for the fact that all he has in his rider is red bull, water and a banana (he reassured us this was not for sexual purposes)

- his feet smell like soap, but apparently americans have told him that's weird because everyone uses shower gel these days and soap is for medievel peasants

- he used to know how to do the dance to lucifer by shinee, and they're his number one all time group

- he thanked the person who wrote 'piss' on their piece of paper for bringing that over from instagram q+a’s

- the box where people post questions which is labelled ‘dan’s hole’ is now being referred to as ‘dan's slit’ because it’s a slot not a round hole

- the crew named the box dan's hole without consulting him and he's worried about getting it through customs to america

- the vip bags are meant to be an end of the world survival kit and you can use the bracelet as a weapon to fire at people's eyes and blind them

- there's lots of journalists coming to review the show tonight and Dan is worried they are all going to be bald white old heterosexual men and will think he’s just a woke child, but apparently if he wears nail varnish they'll suddenly realise he's gay and then whatever he says will be fine

- he said several times that we all have to make sure we cheer and look like we're enjoying the show so that the journalists will give him a good review

- his least favourite one direction solo music is liam payne’s

- the same person who asked that also asked for 'thoughts on’ daddy marx aka karl' and dan’s response was icon, legend, slay

- if phil were turned into a houseplant, dan wouldn't water him as he wouldn't deserve it because of how many plants he's killed

- dan thinks phil will live in filth for two months while he tours america and then do a panic clean 2 days before he gets back

- the person who asked them for a threesome was.....your mum

- corgi might win over shibe in the 'get a dog' discussion because shibes are apparently not very emotionally available

- someone said get one of each and Dan said he doesn't want to come home from tour and find two dog skeletons, so maybe that's a 2023 thing (!!)

- he emotionally vibes with the idea of becoming a cottagecore cat lady with 9 black cats

- his dream place to do a show would be in his house so he doesn't have to get dressed, so probably a livestream of him sleeping

- if he had to be a biscuit he'd be a hobnob - messy, large, circular and full of too much sugar

- fuck marry kill with mariokart characters - he'd marry then fuck then kill luigi

- he’s clueless about wine and never knows what to say when people ask him what his favourite red wine is

- phil only likes alcohol that tastes like ribena, and likes a nice gay rosé

- fave alcoholic drink - he said he's a gin girl because gin makes you cry and he's crying all the time on the inside so he's drawn to it on an emotional level

- someone asked how it felt to have turned an entire generation queer, and he laughed and apologised

- 'would you rather turn into sonic, godzilla or megamind every time you’re aroused?' dan’s response was sonic because whatever you're going to do, you can do it fast ‘time is money - spin on that, bitch!’

random mini sleepover Friday rant but god I hate making content for characters ppl don't really pay much attention to. like everyone's like no one makes content for these characters I wish someone would :( and I'm like here's 3 pieces of art and a fic featuring all the characters people talk about wanting to see more of!! and people just ignore it and are like still no content? sad. well there's other characters and it's just frustrating even if you don't like the characters I would appreciate more than 4 likes on the art I spend 8 hours making pls and thanks

I feel that. Honestly a part of us feels kind of weird about writing “phanfic” which is why there’s not anything outwardly romantic in the one we’re posting now it’s all like “if you intemperate this as romance cool if you see it as friendship also cool” but writing fan fiction in general is the ONLY way anyone will read ANYTHING we write. Savvy spent two years writing that and she knows it’s going to get probably like 20 reads max. I think the most one of the posts has is roughly 15 notes and that’s on one of the moodboards she made for it not even the story part. We’re so thankful for the people who are reblogging it and the people who say they’re going to read it because it’s what keeps us going. The story is dedicated to our late aunt who just always told Savvy she should just “be an author” and I think once Savvy tried to explain like “it’s not that easy” but like we keep going because our aunt just really thought we had a talent and told Savvy all the time just how special and talented she is with her writing, and ALL our aunts do, which is why we keep going. Like I wish I could say “I write for myself” and I mean I do but like you want the reads to. You create content for your favorite characters which aren’t that popular for yourself but you also do it to get attention which sounds so bad saying it like that but like for others and yeah. See also: I hate that the fandom for one of my lesser known interests is EXTREMELY toxic to the point they are literally like “idk like [identity] is just a bad [identity] and it hurts people” like what the fuck. So I can’t interact with any content I see on here for that fandom because I know the 20 people making it and they’re all borderline terfs.

Wrote 6.6k for my svt mafia AU - 돈’t Lie (at least not to me)

Wrote 2.4k for my phan Stardew AU - Broke, Gay and New in Town

Wrote a spilled thoughts post about being able to practice self love

And I journalled every single day

This week has had its ups and downs in terms of focus and motivation but I somehow still managed to just barely drag it onto the goal of 2k a day, so I’m very proud of that. And when I say just barely, I mean it. Exactly 14.001 words. Yep. That’s how it goes. I’ve been able to mostly focus on these two posted wips, and I’ve been making really good progress, with the svt mafia AU in particular. I will need to focus in on my phan Stardew AU a bit more because wow, we need lots of words for this one if I’m to be ready with two chapters for PEDIA as I have planned. Also the outline for November chapter is looking good, so I will just need to hunker down and focus. I leave for holiday with the family on Friday, for a week, and I’m planning to focus on the phanfic while I’m away but writing time in general will probably be more sparse, as I’m trying to not just be on my laptop the whole time. Still, some writing must be done, I like it too much. Okay, this turned into a ramble.

Tucker stretched himself languidly, shimmering tail lazily swishing through the air. Even here, in the gravity-heavy atmosphere of Earth, he could stay afloat without it.

Yawning, he nestled his head on his folded arms, peering over the banister he was leaning on. Below him, human bustled around, the soft noise of conversation filling the air. The crowd mostly consisted of adults, but Tucker’s sharp eyes spotted a few children running around among them.

He was drawn out of his inspection by the rustle of cloth next to him. Looking up, he met Danny’s bright eyes, the boy leaping up to sit on top of the banister.

“Hey,” the boy greeted Tucker. “You doing alright?”

Tucker snorted dismissively. “Shouldn’t I be asking you? It’s your family reunion, man.”

“Eh.” Danny shrugged, turning to look down as well. The heels of his shoes beat against the side of the rail. They made no noise. “They’re fine without me. But you clearly aren’t, so. What’s up?”

“Nothing, nothing.” Tucker shook his head, glancing at the crowd so he wouldn’t have to look at Danny. “It’s just… I dunno.”

“Eloquent,” Sam huffed as she stepped up next to them. She jumped onto the railing as well, straddling it, with one leg on each side. “Come on Tuck, just tell us.”

He sighed, but couldn’t stop the fond smile that appeared on his face. Even though he looked forward, he knew that the other two could see it. “I just… Watching that whole thing downstairs, it’s just… making me nostalgic, I guess.”

“Nostalgic?” Danny echoed thoughtfully. “For what? Your own family?”

“In a way.” Tucker turned his head slightly to wink at Danny. “I meant you two, dumbass. It’s making me nostalgic for our family.”

“Oh. Fair enough.” Danny looked down, and Tucker followed his eyes to the massive bulk of Jack Fenton. The other boy sighed. “Me too, I guess, now that I’m thinking about it.”

“Yeah.” Sam’s fingers rattled on the metal railing, the sound easily swallowed by the noise of the crowd below. “It’s… been a while, huh? Good old times.”

Tucker snorted. “Good for who? Because I seem to remember a lot of frustration.”

“Nah,” Danny denied, waving a hand as if he were swatting away the suggestion. “No frustration, just excitement. I think it went like…”

Can we discuss that in the last 24 hours I have avoided packing my dorm (Which I have to be out of Friday at 4:30), avoided my final (Which is due wednesday night (It's tuesday rn)), and overdosed on caffeine to the point I feel like I want to throw up?
