Terry Carter (born John Everett DeCoste; December 16, 1928 – April 23, 2024) Actor and filmmaker, known for his roles as Sgt. Joe Broadhurst on the TV series McCloud and as Colonel Tigh on the original Battlestar Galactica.
Carter acted in numerous television series, specials, and theatrical films. Carter was a regular cast member of The Phil Silvers Show (popularly known as Sergeant Bilko), appearing as Pvt. Sugie Sugarman in 91 episodes between 1955 and '59. Carter played boxer Rosie Palmer in a 1964 episode of the ABC drama Breaking Point. In 1965 he was the only black actor to have a role in the World War II drama Combat! in the season three episode "The Long Wait". He is best known internationally for his co-starring role as Colonel Tigh in the popular science-fiction TV series Battlestar Galactica. He was originally cast as Lieutenant Boomer, but was cut following a roller skating accident that fractured his ankle. After replacing Carter with Herb Jefferson, Jr., producer Glen A. Larson instead offered Terry Carter the role of Colonel Tigh, second in command of the ragtag fleet of starships, giving the series the distinction for the time of having more than one regular African-American character in the principal cast. Carter also starred as Dennis Weaver's partner, Sergeant Joe Broadhurst in the detective series McCloud for seven years.
In 1975, Carter started a small Los Angeles corporation, Meta/4 Productions, Inc. for which he produced and directed industrial and educational presentations on film and videotape for the federal government. Carter was president of Council for Positive Images, Inc., a non-profit organization he formed in 1979, dedicated to enhancing intercultural and interethnic understanding through audiovisual communication. Under the council's auspices, Carter produced and directed award-winning dramatic and documentary programs for presentation on PBS and distribution worldwide. NCIS: Los Angeles Season Eleven Rewatch:   “Groundwork”
The basics:  Hetty’s interest in a missing agricultural engineer has the team working with Veronica Stephens.
Written by:  Erin Broadhurst wrote or co-wrote “Praesidium”, “Unspoken”, “Come Back”, “Sirens”, “Getaway”, “Forasteira”, “Venganza”, “Joyride”, “The One That Got Away” and “No More Secrets”.
Directed by: Benny Boom directed “Ghost Gun”, “767”, “Fool Me Twice”, “Pro Se” and “Hail Mary”.

Our heroes:  Are helping the CIA and trying to figure out what Hetty is doing.
What important things did we learn about:
Callen:  Kryptonite is smart, deceitful, beautiful, deadly women. Sam:  Does not like the CIA. Kensi:   Can take out a security camera with her long gun behind her back or over her shoulder. Deeks:  Comes up with the plan to save Dr. Olonga. Eric:  The Harry Potter of data recovery. Nell:  No longer sharing the level of Hetty’s confidence that she once did. Hetty:   Protecting Nigerian agricultural engineers with a little help from the CIA.
What not so important things did we learn about:
Callen:  Maybe Statler, maybe Waldoff Sam:  Maybe Statler, maybe Waldoff Kensi:  The Man. Deeks:  The Dude. Eric:  Dingus. Nell:  Snooping. Hetty:  Gloria Edwards took Laos’s remains to Athens.
Who's down with OTP:   After a tough episode, all is well for both Kensi-Deeks, Eric-Nell.
Who's down with BrOTP:   Lots of conversations and advice from Sam about the women in Callen’s life.  That goes over as one would expect it would.
Any pressing need for a young FBI Agent:  No, enough three-letter agencies in this hour.
Who is running the team this week?  Hetty in absentia.
Fashion review:  Blue and white plaid button-down shirt for Callen.  Black tee for Sam.  Grey long-sleeve tee for Kensi.  Dark blue long-sleeve tee for Deeks.  Dark green pullover sweater over a blue print dress shirt.  Red, black and pink print blouse and red jumper for Nell – my favorite outfit so far this season.
Music:  “Get Gone” by Deap Vally is playing as the episode beings.
Any notable cut scene:  Nope.
Quote: Callen:  “Veronica's just doing her job. You and I would have done the same thing.” Sam:  “She manipulates people for a living.” Callen:  “We don't?” Sam:  “Not people who are supposed to be on our side and helping us.” Callen:  “There are extenuating circumstances here. She's under duress. I'm willing to give her the benefit of the doubt here.” Sam:  “Of course you are. That's your kryptonite.” Callen:  “My kryptonite? You don't think I'm a good judge of people? That after all these years, I can't tell when someone's lying to me?” Sam:  “Oh, no, you're good at all that.” Callen:  “ Thank you.” Sam:  “Unless…” Callen:  “Here it comes.” Sam:  “You going to tell me you don't give certain types of people more doubtful benefits than others?” Callen:  “You lost me at kryptonite.” Sam: “ Smart. Deceitful. Beautiful. Deadly.” Callen:  “Sounds like the perfect Tinder date to me.” Sam:  “Yeah, it is for you. You don't see a pattern among the few select people that are able to dupe you?” Callen:  “I don't get duped.” Sam:  “ You're like Fatal Attraction with unlimited sequels.” Callen:  “And for the record, none of them have been fatal. Not yet.” Sam:  “Word of advice: Don't get a rabbit.” Callen:  “Just watch the road there, Dr. Phil.”
Anything else:   The previously-s are from “Mother”, Anna in Cuba and “Heist” which was the first Veronica Stephens episode.  A lovely beach day in LA has Veronica Stephens pulling up  to a beach parking lot in her SUV with a kayak on the top.  As she gets her gear from the back, an assailant starts to attack her from behind.  He has a hypodermic needle in his left hand.  Stephens is more than capable of protecting herself, getting free, getting to her kayak paddle and using it on her assailant.  With the man down for the count, Stephens jumps back in her vehicle and drives away.
Walking into the office, Sam is trying to get Callen to attend a barbecue with him, his buddy Tom and some other friends.  Callen likes Tom but wants to know if other SEALs will be there.  The last barbecue with SEALs had Callen getting a lot of workout out tips and inspirational quotes.  That happened when Callen asked why nobody was eating the potato salad.
Sam assures Callen it isn’t all SEALs.  This, to Callen, means some guys from Delta, MARSOC, other special forces teams are attending.  Mentioning one has become a talent agent really doesn’t change things for Callen.
Waiting for them in the bullpen is Nell with news that Hetty wants to see them in the boat shed.  Sam asks if Kensi and Deeks are on their way.  Nell has to remind them this is Hetty – pertinent information is not always shared.  Like today.
At the boat shed, Veronica Stephens.  Not at the boat shed, Hetty – though she is the one who told Stephens to meet Callen and Sam in the boat shed.  Stephens explains that Hetty helped out with a situation in Cuba the prior year.  Callen and Sam are well aware of what happened in Cuba.  The CIA owes Hetty a favor and she called it in.  With the CIA’s help, she was working to get Dr. Joseph Olonga, a scientist out of Nigeria.  Hetty worried that he was a potential kidnapping victim.  Using her phone, Stephens shows Callen and Sam a passport photo of Dr. Olonga.
Dr. Olonga is a leader in agricultural engineering with a number of patents in emerging technologies.  There are countries that would rather steal the patents or the technology than pay the right for them.  Stephens isn’t sure where Dr. Olonga is.  He made it to the US safely and was supposed to meet with Stephens later that day.  Only he’s not answering his call and she was attached on the beach.  She admits the beach attack could be unrelated as she recaps the morning’s incident, including alerting Hetty.
Callen and Sam are not pleased she went right to the boat shed.  Stephens tells them she wasn’t followed.  Callen disagrees – she was already followed once that day to the beach.  Countering that the attacker could have been waiting for her makes it worse for Sam – her attacker knew her daily routine.  “Either way, it’s shoddy tradecraft.”  Stephens makes a face and mocks them – she thought they were all friends.
Callen and Sam order Stephens to sit tight in the boat shed.  That’s not happening.  The CIA can handle Dr. Orlonga.  Sam disagrees since the CIA can’t even figure out who gave up Stephens’s cover a year ago.  With the enemies she has in and outside of the CIA, Callen and Sam insist Stephens stay in the boat shed.  They’ll find Dr. Olonga.
Callen leaves a voicemail for Hetty, who is not in contact with the team.  Sam notes that if Callen was running the team, this wouldn’t be a problem.  It would be for Sam, according to Callen, since he would no longer be Sam’s partner.  “Talk about a win-win.”  Callen calls Nell and catches her up.  They want to know if she spoke to Hetty that morning or if Hetty just sent her a text with instructions.  Nell spoke to Hetty.  They also want everything Nell can find on Dr. Olonga.  Sam wants Eric to look at security cams to confirm Stephens’s parking lot story.  And if she could, Sam wants Nell to find Hetty.
Sam doesn’t trust the CIA – offering Callen a “no offense” once he said it.  He and Callen were told to meet Hetty at the boat shed and wound up with Stephens and a CIA case.  The CIA isn’t supposed to be operating in the US.  Callen makes it clear he never operated in the US.  Callen brings up Anna working for the CIA.  That sort of makes Sam’s point – “where is she now?”  Callen tells Sam that Anna will find a way back or he’ll find her.
Nell confirms Stephens’s intel on Dr. Olonga.  He’s looking to solve world hunger using artificial intelligence.  After flying into LAX, Dr. Olonga checked into the Hotel Erwin in Venice.  Nell requested a wellness check on Dr. Olonga when he would not answer his call.  While he was not there, his belongs were.  When asked if Hetty ever mentioned Dr. Olonga to Nell, Nell confessed that she no longer has Hetty’s confidence.
There is no proof of Veronica Stephens being attacked but there is limited security camera footage in the area.  Kensi and Deeks are checking it out.  Callen thinks something is up – Dr. Olonga is of interest to Hetty, the CIA and is now gone.  Sam isn’t so sure – Hetty sent them to the boat shed, everything else they are working with comes from Stephens and is unverified.  And they still don’t know where Hetty is.
Nell might.  After Laos’s death, Nell did some digging around.  Laos was cremated at Hetty’s expense.  One of her alias’ passports, Gloria Edwards, was used to go to Athens.  Callen thinks Hetty took Laos home.  Sam asks if there are any codes to be found in books or thumb drives in broaches or are they truly on their own.  Callen thinks they should get Dr. Olonga’s case a look but if they don’t find anything, they’ll drop it.  Nell asks about Veronica Stephens who is “chillin’ at the boat shed,” according to Sam.  According to the security cameras, she’s long gone.  This confirms Sam’s lack of trust.
Callen defends Stephens – they wouldn’t have chilled in the boat shed either if they could help with a case.  He’s willing to give Stephen the benefit of the doubt.  Sam already knew Callen would – women like Stephens are his “kryptonite.”  Offended, Callen asks Sam if he really believes Callen can’t be a good judge of people, can’t tell when people are lying to him.  Sam thinks Callen can but gives “smart, deceitful, beautiful, deadly” women a break.  Sam sees a pattern in the women who dupe him – “you’re like ‘Fatal Attraction’ with unlimited sequels.”  Callen thanks Dr. Phil and asks him to keep his eyes on the road.
Kensi and Deeks are questioning people in Venice.  Kensi isn’t having much luck.  According to Deeks, the local surfers and skaters see “the man” when they talk to Kensi.  They are Deeks’s people – “and I’m the Dude.”  Kensi thinks more idiot.  Deeks found a security camera that records every license plate that drives through the area.  He got the owner to send the file to Eric because he’s “the Dude.”
Kensi thinks the attacker – if there was one – could have left his vehicle somewhere and walked to the parking lot.  In the lot, Deeks sees a parking slip with a 7:10AM time stamp.  There are a lot of cars in the lot – Kensi is thinking needle in the haystack.  On the ground, Deeks sees part of a kayak paddle.  Asking if there is a lost and found, Deeks thinks that’s called the trash.  And anything left is likely taken.
Reviewing Stephens’s story, Kensi is stuck on why would anyone try an attack.  All it did was alert Stephens to a possible kidnapping.  Only if it fails – the kidnappers would have Dr. Olonga and Stephens.  There are a lot of people who would love to get their hands on a CIA Agent with her past.  Kensi thinks that past is what’s catching up with Stephens.  Dr. Olonga could be “at Knotts Berry Farm eating funnel cake.”  Now Deeks wants funnel cake – they have them at the Pier.
In Dr. Olonga’s room, Callen, Sam and a hotel staffer find his phone, passport and wallet – all things he’d likely need if he left the room.  They are on a high floor so leaving through the balcony is out.  The hotel staffer did not see anyone leave the room but offers to show Callen and Sam their security footage.  There is an adjoining room – Sam wants to know who was staying in that room.
Footage shows a room service attendant rolling a cart away from the room next to Dr. Olonga’s as well as a gentleman coming up from the stairs.   Switching to the room service attendant in the elevator, he has a large gash on his head – as if he was struck in the head by a kayak paddle.  The hotel staffer does not recognize the attendant.  Sam thinks Dr. Olonga is stashed in the room service cart.
Sneaking around Hetty’s office, Nell nearly jumps out of his skin when Eric comes up from behind and asks what she’s doing.  Nell whispers she is looking for clues to figure out what is going on.  Eric wants to know why they are whispering – Nell doesn’t know why.  Eric looks inside Hetty’s desk bookcase.  Nell is pretty sure Hetty isn’t there.  Eric thinks Hetty would want them to think that until “she springs out of a drawer or drops from an air vent like an angry mongoose.”
Nell wants to know why Hetty lied to get Callen and Sam to meet with Veronica Stephens.  With the problems the team had with the CIA in the past, Eric thinks Hetty arranged a face-to-face to make things easier.  Nell thinks something is off.  After her tablet beeps, Callen sends over photos of three men from the hotel security system.  He also wants Nell to look for Dr. Olonga’s laptop going live on line – it was the one thing missing from his hotel room.  His kidnappers may want to download his research.
Sam calls Callen over – live security footage shows Veronica Stephens in the lobby.  Before Callen and Sam leave to confront Stephens, they ask the hotel staffer to have security detain her.  Callen and Sam find the security officer on the floor – Veronica ran.  Callen and Sam chase her to the street.  She revs up her sports car.  Callen plays chicken – jumping in front of the vehicle.  Sam shows up with his gun drawn.  Sam brings up “Fatal Attraction” again.
This time, Veronica is taken to interrogation.  She lost her “cozy privileges” in the boat shed.  She finds nothing about the boat shed cozy – it smells like dead fish and seagulls.  Callen thinks of it as nautical charm as he shows Stephens to the bad side of the table.  She’s not staying.  Trying to run him over means she’s staying for a while.
Kensi and Deeks arrive in the main part of the boat shed as Callen shows Stephens a photo on his phone of the room service attendant.  Deeks wants to know what is going on.  Sam sticks with a continuing game of chicken.  Stephens is shown a second man from the hotel.  She denies knowing him.  “Liar, liar, pants on fire,” is Nell’s response as she pops up on the plasma.
The second man is Peter Sanders, a Department of Agriculture employee working with Dr. Olonga in Nigeria.  In fact, he was traveling with Dr. Olonga, something Stephens should know.  Nell can’t find him – not answering his landline and Nell is still looking for a cell phone number.  Deeks thinks the Department of Agriculture job is an undercover position – Sanders in probably CIA.
Eric joins in on the fun.  He ID’s the room service attendant as Dana Farnham, born in Belgium, in the US on a student visa.  He’s studying hotel management at a nearby college.  Kensi asks if Farnham is a hotel employee – he is not.
Sam interrupts Callen and Stephens – they need to go.  Stephens comes on to Callen – talking about whether he can hold her or not.  Handcuffing her to the interrogation table, Callen thinks he can hold her just fine.  Claiming handcuffing her to the table is a career ending mistake, Stephens takes out her phone.  She plans on having the team fired.  Sam likes the idea – he needs a vacation.  The call fails – the boat shed has cell phone jammers.  Or seagulls, according to Callen.  Asking about a rest room, Sam points out the trap door to Stephens.  “Try not to fall in.”
Kensi is making a fake delivery to Dana Farnham’s address.  She wants to hand it to him – save the package from the porch pirates.  Deeks is ready to break in when Callen and Sam see Farber jump out a window in the back of the house.  Running down the street, Farnham sees a dump truck pulling an earth mover on flat bed.  Jumping on the flat bed, Farnham moves up to the dump truck and tries to jump in.  He fails, falling to the street.  Run over by the flat bed, Farnham is dead.  The team is horrified by the “human speed bump.”
Still bothered by Farnham’s death, Kensi is sitting on the curb about 20-feet from the blood splatter.  Deeks comes over and talks about counting their blessings before speaking to “Statler and Waldorf” – great nicknames for Callen and Sam.  Callen and Sam are trying to get into Farnham’s van.  Deeks has his crushed cell phone.  Eric, “the Harry Potter of data recovery” is going to try to pull info from the phone.
Callen and Sam see some tools in the front of the van including a saw.  Kensi opens a duffle in the back and finds a head.  She walks away - this has not been a good hour or so for Kensi.  Deeks sees the head with a “son of a bitch” reaction.
Stephens is able pick the handcuff lock.  As she’s breaking out of the room, Callen walks in.  Stephens tries to threaten him but Callen is in no mood.  He has something for her to see.  In the main section of the boat shed, they show Stephens Farnham’s ID and explain his unfortunate demise.  The head belongs to Peter Sanders, “or whatever his name is”.
Callen tells Stephens that Sanders had a puncture in his neck – probably drugged or poisoned just as she would have been drugged or poisoned.  Sam says Sanders is dead and butchered, Dr. Olonga is probably dead and butchered so that leaves Stephens alone.  They release her, wishing her luck.
After Stephens leaves, Callen and Sam review what they know.  Farnham was in charge of the body parts disposal, Sanders was the body parts so the man seeing taking the stairs at the hotel – he’s probably running the operation.  Nell found out the room next to Dr. Olonga’s was charged to an Adam Kline on a fake credit card.
Stephens returns.  Dr. Olonga was brought to the US with some of his technology.  Maybe they could set up a trade – Dr. Olonga for the technology.  The technology is in a secure hanger in a secret part of the airport.
As Eric works on the phone, Deeks is pestering him.  Wearing magnifying glasses and with a light, Deeks wants to know if Eric found anything.  Eric would tell Deeks if he did.  “Well, no pressure,” Deeks offers to help – he rebuilt a 1935 Indian by himself.  Eric sees the similarities between an antique motorcycle and a new cell phone.  The phone sparks and explodes.  As Eric is about to quit, Deeks says only a genius could bring the phone back to life.  Eric takes that as a challenge.  “Who’s my favorite brainiac?” Deeks asks before chanting “Bulletproof, Bulletproof”.
Callen, Sam and Stephens go to the airport.   She accesses the private hanger, which is completely empty.  She is worried.  The only people who knew about the hanger was Dr. Olonga, Sanders and Stephens.  The missing tech was self-driving tractors, watering drones – automated farming equipment.
With nothing in the hanger, Callen is done with the case.  Looking for help, Stephens wants Callen and Sam to help her look around.  The hanger is empty – there is nothing to look for.  Stephens talks about Sanders being butchered but that only annoys Callen.  She should have been honest from the start.  Callen and Sam leave her behind.
Nell updates Kensi and Deeks as Eric yells “It’s alive” Frankenstein-movie style.  Deeks want to know if Eric said that or if he’s hearing voices.  With his two hands, Eric resurrected Farnham’s phone.  Trying to open it on the big screen, the data fails though It worked downstairs.  Eric freaks out a little, yelling that Mr. Phone, the phony.  Eric gets the data from the phone on the big screen.  Nell will send all important info to their phones.
Nell ID’s the man from the hotel using Farnham’s phone.  Nick Bardia is a local running a rug business in Van Nuys.  LAPD is checking out his apartment in Ocean City, Kensi and Deeks are on their way to the rug store.  Sam thinks a rug store is a better place to hold a hostage than an apartment full of witnesses.  Nell agrees – the 14,000 square foot rug store could hide Dr. Olonga and all his technology.
Kensi and Deeks pull up with the Roach Coach.  Callen, Sam and Stephens are right behind.  Deeks checked around – the place is “festooned” with new security cameras – airgapped.  Kensi calls the REACT team for back-up.  There isn’t enough time to commandeer a garbage truck as a trojan horse.
Deeks thinks a rug store is full of flammable stuff.  Smoke them out so the team doesn’t have to go in blind.  Callen sees the possibilities – cover up a security camera long enough for someone to get to the roof and drop smoke bombs into the ventilation system.  Someone inside would at least have to check and see what’s going on.  The bad guys could also try to move Dr. Olonga during this – they could intercept him.
Callen asks if Kensi can take out security camera with a suppressive shot.  “Behind my back or over my shoulder?” Kensi asks.   If it works, Callen doesn’t care how.  Passing a shotgun to Stephens, the team is ready to go.
Kensi makes quick work of a backdoor security camera.  Callen Sam, Deeks and Stephens go in.  Deeks climbs into the building and finds a ventilation shaft.  Calling “fire in the hole”, Deeks sets off two smoke bombs.  Deeks yells that it would be amazing if nobody was there and they ruined hundreds of rugs.  Stephens looks confused.  Sam tells her they don’t allow Deeks out much.
A man runs out of the facility, only to be grabbed by Sam.  Callen and Stephens enter the building as Sam puts the man in a sleeper hold and then handcuffs.  Inside the store, Callen, Sam and Stephens see Bardia give instructions to his men.  Three are going to take the technology off-site.  Another is going to call the fire department and announce this is a false alarm, even if it isn’t because they’re done in that location.  Sam finds Dr. Olonga, alive.
The truck with the technology is ready to leave the building.  Callen makes it clear, Kensi is to stop that from happening.  Bardia is telling his men he will “deal with” Dr. Olonga.  Callen yells “federal agents” and the shooting begins.  Callen chases Bardia.  Bardia’s men surrender rather quickly to Stephens.
As the truck leaves the building, Kensi shoots out the engine.  The truck is going nowhere, as are the men inside.
Sam frees Dr. Olonga.  As they leave, Callen comes across Bardia.  Just as Bardia is going to fire at Callen, Deeks shoots him from the second floor and Callen shoots too.  Bardia is down.
At the bar, Deeks explains to Sam that he can’t see “squat” in the store because of the smoke.  Divine intervention parted the smoke and allowed him to save Callen.  Kensi didn’t see that happened but feels like she did since its all Deeks has talked about for the last four hours.  Callen and Stephens walk in.  She just wanted to say thank you.  The team offers a toast.  When Stephens goes to leave, she tells Callen she is going to send him a bill for her sports car’s brake pads.  Callen asks if he can expense that.  He can’t.  Deeks also needs $4.00 for his beer.
What head canon can be formed from here:  That Callen has a type, I guess, but never saw Veronica Stephens in that mix.
Episode number:  Episode 12 of season 11.  Episode 251 overall.

Please Stop Donating The Da Vinci Code to Used Bookstores: Critical Linking
Sponsored by The Nix by Nathan Hill. New in paperback.
Abranch of Oxfam in Swansea has received a copy a week of The Da Vinci Code since its staff can remember. Lately, manager Phil Broadhurst has make a tower with the books, at the foot of which he has posted a note, now widely shared online. “You could give us another Da Vinci Code … but we would rather have your vinyl! We urgently need more records to … make more money for Oxfam.”
No one wants your copies of The Da Vinci Code.

The NYPL would be far from the first library system to dump fines for children. New York’s Rochester Public Library made the move earlier this year, as did Pikes Peak Library District in Colorado. Others, like Oak Park Public Library in Illinois and Worthington Libraries in Ohio, already have or plan to eliminate fines for all residents. The key to this experiment, as Todaro explained, is finding ways to maximize access and positive relationships between libraries and patrons.
More and more libraries are dropping overdue fines.

When Ta-Nehisi Coates and Yona Harvey’s Black Panther & The Crew launched earlier this year, it proved that big publishers like Marvel can, in fact, still tell timely stories about real world issues, like how police brutality devastates black communities. But now, after a mere two issues, Marvel has cancelled the series.

HORADADA BOWLS CLUB BY IRENE GRAHAM Only one match to report on this week as we are now at the end of the winter season.  Win or lose the weather has been really kind to the Bowlers this winter with very few bad days.  The Falcons were at home to Emerald Isle Moonrakers and we were all very well aware that we had to produce the goods.  All but one of the rinks had really close results with the lead going back and forth a few times.  An exciting morning with the Falcons coming out on top.  We won on 3 rinks lost on 2 and it’s thanks to one of our rinks that secured us the overall shots.  Our winning rinks were: Irene Graham, Janet Jukes and Barry Evans 13 – 9 Wayne Jackson, Les Davies and Mick Kirby 23 – 8 Tracey Paffett, Ken Barber and Roy Thomson 17 – 14 The final score being 83 shot for to 66 against giving us 8 points to 4 against. Very well played to all of our team, we each played our part in helping the Falcons to move up a place to remain in division ‘B’.  We are equal in points to Quesada Rubies, but we just managed to pip them at the post on shots. The Royals with their last match result also moved 2 places up the table to finish in 7th place, only 1 point behind 6th.  We are a small membership club and to remain in the ‘B’ division for both the leagues is an excellent result for us. Again very well played to everyone who has played throughout the winter season and a special thanks goes to our Team Captain Peter Davis and Vice Captain Ron Odell for their efforts in putting a team together.  We know it is not an easy task. Have a restful 2 weeks break Team Horadada and we will start all over again for the summer leagues.  Keep em’ bowls a rollin’. No threat, but UK royal wedding fans in Windsor face tight security
WINDSOR, England (Reuters) – All royal fans coming to Windsor to watch the wedding of Britain’s Prince Harry and American actress Meghan Markle will have to pass through tight security but there is no known threat to the event, a police commander said on Wednesday.

More than 100,000 people are expected to flock to the genteel town dominated by Windsor Castle where the couple will marry on Saturday in a glittering ceremony mixing traditional royal pomp with a flavor of Hollywood glamour.
Britain is on its second-highest threat level of severe, meaning an attack by militants is considered highly likely. Last year there were four deadly attacks blamed on terrorists which claimed 36 lives.
“There is no particular threat for this event. There’s no intelligence to support that this event is going to be particularly targeted,” Superintendent Jim Weems, the tactical commander for the wedding, told Reuters.
“People will be aware of the atrocities in the UK last year, in the last 18 months in Europe … or around the world, so that will be at the back of people’s minds,” he said. “We police this to keep people safe – we have the capability, with the right police officers in the right place with the right skills to deal with all eventualities.”
Some 5,000 officers were on duty in London when Harry’s brother Prince William married wife Kate in a huge display of British pageantry in 2011 but Weems declined to say how many would be patrolling in Windsor on Saturday.
However, he said it was the biggest operation his Thames Valley force had ever carried out and they had needed to call on neighboring forces to help.
In addition to road closures which will seal off the town and patrols by armed police and search dogs, visitors will also have to pass through airport-style scanning checks before they can reach the streets surrounding the castle where the couple will take part in a carriage procession after the wedding.

“There are search and screening locations all around the town. So when you come by car, if you park and walk into town, or you come by rail, you will go through one of our search locations,” Weems said.
“Every kind of police resourcing you can think of is probably involved in here somewhere along the line.”
It will not just be the threat from militants that will be occupying police thoughts.
Bob Broadhurst, the officer in charge of security for William’s wedding, told Reuters last month police would have to treat everyone in the crowd as a potential terrorist, prankster, protester or royal obsessive who might try to disrupt the occasion.
Police had dealt with 18 protests in London on the day of William’s wedding although Weems said they were not aware of any planned demonstrations.
However, last Saturday’s Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon was briefly marred by a protester invading the stage to grab the microphone from British contestant SuRie while she was performing, graphically showing what issues police might face.
The royals themselves have also been on the receiving end of pranks. In 2003, Aaron Barschak, who called himself “the comedy terrorist”, managed to bypass security at Windsor Castle wearing a pink dress and an Osama bin Laden-style beard to crash William’s 21st birthday party and give him a kiss.
“Our policing operation will cover all eventualities. I won’t go into what we are anticipating,” said Weems.
“We need to remind ourselves and the public that this is a wedding. It is a wedding in which the royal couple want the public to be involved. That is the story, it’s not about the police and security operation.”

Mor'easter? Northeast hit with its fourth storm in 3 weeks
Spring kicked off with a wallop of wintry weather along the East Coast as the fourth nor'easter in three weeks rolled in with the potential for a foot or more of snow Wednesday.
The first full day of the season included scenes of snow falling on blooming daffodils in suburban Philadelphia, New Yorkers twisting to fix blown-out umbrellas, tractor-trailers stuck on snowy highways and kids making their first snowman of spring.
"I want warm! I'm done with the cold," said Yana Damoiseau, a pedestrian in New York City.
Airlines canceled thousands of flights, and school districts throughout the Northeast called off classes ahead of the storm, which was expected to intensify in the afternoon and make its way into New England, with heavy, wet snow likely to knock out power across a wide area.
New York City braced for what could be its biggest March snowstorm ever, with 12 to 18 inches forecast. Gov. Phil Murphy declared a state of emergency in New Jersey, where most areas were expected to see at least 8 inches. Forecasters said Boston could get 6 inches, and the Philadelphia area could see a foot.

Add Weather as an interest to stay up to date on the latest Weather news, video, and analysis from ABC News.
The storm was just the latest to come off the assembly line in the Northeast since March 2. Many people's tolerance for wintry weather was already worn thin, after repeated power outages and lots of white-knuckle driving.
"I didn't think I'd still need to keep storm stuff in my car in late March, but what are you going to do?" Wilson Collins, of Toms River, New Jersey, said as he checked his car trunk to make sure he had a shovel, a blanket and other emergency items. "I just hope this is finally it."
On the other side of the country, a storm brought heavy rain to California, and tens of thousands of people in Santa Barbara and Ventura counties were ordered to flee their homes because of the danger of mudslides on slopes burned by recent wildfires.
By late morning in the East, hundreds of auto accidents were reported. On New York's Long Island, Newsday reported that a woman was killed and five people were injured when a van overturned on a parkway.
More than 1,000 flights in the New York City area alone were canceled, with a ripple effect on air travel around the country. On the ground, Amtrak scaled back service on the Northeast corridor between Washington and Boston, and some states banned trucks from major highways.
The storm also unloaded snow on Virginia and West Virginia as it pushed into the Northeast. Virginia reported more 240 traffic accidents since midnight. In West Virginia, around 17,000 customers were without power.
New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo said 5,500 utility workers and 300 National Guard members were standing by. The state also sent generators, light towers, plows and salt to areas that have already endured multi-day, storm-related power outages this month.
Cuomo said he was told the utilities were better prepared this time.
"We have had assurances," he said. "Frankly, I'm not satisfied with the assurances."
Not everyone was sick of the snow.
In Orwigsburg, Pennsylvania, about 90 miles outside Philadelphia, 10-year-old siblings Talia and Miles Broadhurst made their own fun on yet another day off from school, climbing onto the family SUV and sliding down the snow-slicked windshield and hood before plopping onto the snow.
"If the snow keeps me away from school, I'm fine with it," Miles said.

Its narrow holes and deep bunkers, plus the potential for high winds, make it a typically challenging Open track. The course will play at around 7,156 yards and is a par-70, but the conditions and course layout make it brutally challenging anyway. In 2008, Harrington’s winning score was 3 over par, and only four players stayed within nine strokes of even over the full 72 holes. British Open 2017 Live World No. 1 Dustin Johnson is a slim favorite entering the event, with No. 3 Jordan Spieth and No. 7 Jon Rahm just behind him. Johnson has three wins in 12 starts this year, but he’s struggled through the first two majors. He withdrew from the Masters in April with a reported back injury, and he missed the cut at the U.S. Open in June. British Open 2017 Live Stream Rahm is the sport’s fastest-rising star, a first-year professional who ended 2016 ranked 125th in the world. He’s coming off an Irish Open win on the European Tour and also won the Farmers Insurance Open. Rahm hits a huge golf ball and has been stunningly consistent at 22 years old. In 15 starts this year, he’s got nine top-10 finishes against two missed cuts. It’s hard to imagine him not playing well at Birkdale. British Open 2017 https://british-open.net/

British Open 2017 live stream: How to watch Friday online
The second round gets underway at Royal Birkdale.
The Open Championship moves to the second round on Friday at Royal Birkdale. It’ll be a long day on the links on the English coast, with some players jockeying for position atop the leaderboard and others scrambling not to miss the cut.
British Open TV schedule 2017
Golf Channel will broadcast the action starting at 1:30 a.m. ET and running until 4 p.m.
Open Championship live streaming
The Golf Channel app and official website will carry live coverage.
At The Open, the top 70 players in the field (plus ties) survive to play beyond the 36 holes. How many shots a player sits off the lead doesn’t matter, as long as he’s within 70 leaderboard places of the guy leading the pack. That makes for some interesting head-to-head competition in the middle of the pack, because the players on the fringe are the ones who set the cut. It’s different from tournaments where the cut is determined by a specific deficit. In some ways, it can make Fridays more fun.
Birkdale isn’t all that long, a par-70 course that’s playing this week at 7,156 yards. But high winds can and do visit the grounds, and the fairways are as narrow as they are flat. It’s not an easy place to play. When Padraig Harrington won The Open there nine years ago, he did it with a score of 3-over.
What players appreciate about Birkdale more than anything is its fairness.
“You get much more consistent bounces, so the well-struck shots are rewarded and typically end up about where you would anticipate,” Phil Mickelson says.
