Listen, I can write 700 pages about my love for Perseus Jackson and it will not be enough.
Why Perseus Jackson son of Poseidon is considered one of the best well-written characters?
Well I can list millions of reasons but i’m gonna focus on what made ME attached to him
-he is an over-empowered character and we can’t even deny it. the boy literally caused volcanic eruptions and earthquakes at the age of 15
-HOWEVER, despite that, we never got to feel that he is exaggerating or trying to show off! He himself admits that 50% of these things happen by accident
-that man is HUMBLE with all capital letters. He never made the reader feel like shit because he always seems relatable.
-as a young adult, it’s absolutely beautiful to feel related to a powerful son of Poseidon
-that boy literally underestimated himself and gave credit to everyone around him. Saved Olympus? Nah i’ve done nothing that was Luke
-he is funny. and no not in a clown-character sort of funny. He is literally done with everyone around him
-the boy isn’t only humble but is willing to humble down everyone around him. Wdym a former Greek god appeared in my apartment? Get out I have no time for you
-he had done a lot of shit and made a lot of mistakes but never in my life I felt frustrated with him because my boy was clueless and trying his best
-that man is loyal af! If there’s one thing or two we can learn from that boy is loyalty
-let’s not forget that he is capable of putting everyone in their place even gods
-he isn’t one of those perfect characters who are trying to be all heroic and shit and that makes the reader feel closer to him bc same dude
-you know what? Just scratch everything. I just love Perseus Jackson so much and I don’t need to justify my love for him

So you think poseidon had to suffer through polyphemus's emo phase /hj /hsrs
No, I think all the moms had to suffer through it. Poseidon is the fun dad and then leaves when it gets annoying.

zeus is so bold commenting on poseidon having a forbidden kid as if he doesn't have TWO: one who is currently a tree and the other who's being raised by wolves. be serious

"Don't worry kid, you're dad had plenty of kids he stopped helping out when he lost interest"
Theseus, who was helped by poseidon multiple times, but in the end was thrown off a cliff by the citizens of Athens and drowned. Drowned in the ocean, the very domain of his father.
Kymopoleia, who was neglected by Poseidon once he found her to be too violent, left to wander his abandoned palaces, given up as a war prize to man she didn't even want with no choice at all.
Bellerophon, who was given the pegasus to tame as a gift from Poseidon in some myths, dying by falling off of it on his way to Olympus.
I'm just saying, that line wasn't a random throwaway line by Ares, he means it.

it is definitely cannon that everyone at camp calls Percy "Annabeth's boyfriend". They'll be showing a new kid around the place and be like "oh yeah, that's Annabeth's boyfriend, Percy. He's also the hero of olympus, beat the god of war, and a child of poseidon or whatever."

“Ares…is a moron.”
I honestly don’t think that anyone is more amused by the whole “this douchebag decided to try and fight the child of the sea god on a fucking beach” of it all than Poseidon.
