Hey there lovelies! I saw so much continuous clowning today! 2-3 days in a row? It's been a while since we've had that much all at once! I'm so happy to see people feeling the love and camaraderie with each other again! I hope that continues even if we see things calm down! Something I heard in WJW today that really stuck with me was "We just want YOU Kristian", something David said when Kristian kept asking if his Belfast accent was okay for the role. How absolutely heartwarming is that? We knew that David and the rest of the cast and crew were kind and wanted everyone to be themselves, but to hear that out of the mouth of Kristian and how it affected him, in his book where he poured out his soul-- just hit so much harder. That really is one of the major values that drew me, and I know quite a few others of the crew to OFMD so hard. Acceptance and celebration of individual uniqueness is at the core of OFMD-- it's part of the building blocks that makes our show so special. Each crew member has their own skills they bring to the table, and we can feel safe when we're allowed to be our true selves around others.

OFMD exudes that kind of acceptance in droves. We can hear it in their varying accents, in the wide array of queer portrayal, in the character's love and acceptance and forgiveness of each other-- in the music, the stage decoration, and the cinematography. We each are different, and we all bring things to the table that make the fandom, or the world a better place. We may not always get along, but it is in the uniqueness of so many crew we find creativity, love, kindness, acceptance, and a place where we can feel safe and learn to be more of our true and authentic selves. Embrace your uniqueness lovelies. You are different from me, from your moots, from your favorite fan artist/writer and that's fucking beautiful. We want YOU, crew. Be YOU in everything you do. Rest up lovelies, see you tomorrow <3

Pendatang and why I think it's important for the fight against censorship

Malaysia's first fully crowd funded film is finally out and its free on YouTube!!!

(btw its fully subtitled in English, Malay, Chinese (Simplified), and Tamil for those who want it)

Pendatang by Kuman Pictures is set in a dystopian future where, due to racial extremism, Malaysia is fully segregated. Citizens live in their own areas based on their race and mixing between the races is punishable by 25 years in prison.

The story centers around a Malaysian Chinese family who is forced to relocate to a designated house by the authorities but they find a Malay girl hiding in their attic.

Anyone who is familiar with the Malaysian film scene would be wondering, "A Malaysian movie about race and inequality? How the fuck did this movie get through the censorship board?". Well, easy. They didn't even try.

In the name of keeping peace in the country, The Malaysian Film Censorship Board (Lembaga Penapis Filem - LPF) is notorious for censoring local movies to the point it loses its impact or keeping movies in a limbo for years. But films need LPF's approval to be able to release theatrically local cinemas.

The makers of Pendatang knew that this film wouldn't have made it past the censorship board or any other kinds of local governmental/commercial release or funding channel. So from the start, they set out to crowd fund this movie to release it for free online - where the LPF has no jurisdiction.

They managed to raise past their goal of RM300k (which is about slightly less than 100k USD). And one year later, they've kept their word - the movie is available on YouTube for free with no ads (making it a non-profit movie).

This is what the makers have to say about this move and what they hope it achieves:

So not only is it a badass move to bypass censorship and non-profit, its also a ground breaker and this opens up a whole new avenue for Malaysian filmmakers.

But it can't be that bad, can it? Well here are some films that weren't so lucky with the LPF.

Mentaga Terbang a story about a young girl's religious journey after her mother's passing to find out what happens after death. It was banned in Malaysia.

Tiger Stripes, the Cannes award winning teenage body horror film detailing a girl's journey with womanhood. It was so heavily cut by LPF that the filmmaker has disowned the censored version and has come out to say that essence was removed from the movie.

Spilt Gravy on Rice is a dark comedy based on a play of the same name. It is a story about a journalist who is close to death and decides to fix his family issues with his 5 kids who all have different mothers. The film was submitted for approval in 2012 and was forced to make changes (including an alternate ending) and was finally approved in 2020. Due to covid, the premiere was delayed till 2022. The original playwright, Jit Murad, passed earlier that year and never got to see his story in the big screen. You can find the film with its original ending on Netflix now.

This is why a movie like Pendatang is so important. Some suspect that Pendatang will be taken down or blocked by the government. I hope it won't.

Malaysian filmmakers want to share good stories that shouldn't be watered down. Malaysian voices want to be heard and shouldn't be unnecessarily filtered and censored.

Sara and Noel: She Was Love

Sara Macdonald had dressed with particular care that September day two years ago. Her pale blonde hair was smoothed with serum, her lips painted with her favourite Kiehl's gloss, her tight Moto jeans topped with a designer T-shirt.

She completed her look with Gucci sunglasses - and her newest and most cherished accessory, a rock star on her arm.

Noel Gallagher, the driving force behind one of Britain's most talented and notorious bands, Oasis, probably didn't even notice that his new girlfriend had taken longer than usual to get ready or, if he did, pause to consider why.

But news of their romance had just broken in a gossip column and Sara expected to be blinded by the flashes of dozens of paparazzi as they emerged from the house.

Sadly for her, no one was there. And as she and Noel repeated the exercise day after day, Sara felt an unmistakable pang of disappointment.

She had to wait two weeks until he finally agreed to come with her to an awards ceremony to get the splash of publicity which she had expected.

For PR girl Sara, 31, the daughter of a well-to-do middle- class Edinburgh family of schoolteachers who was educated at the city's fee-paying Mary Erskine school, becoming a rock chick was the fulfilment of a girlish fantasy.

She loved the kudos of being famous, albeit by proxy, as 'Noel's new girl'. When he penned a ballad, She Is Love, in her honour, she was ecstatic.

But now her dream romance is over and Sara is alone, having been unceremoniously dumped a fortnight ago. At her desk in London last week, she refused to comment about the end of their relationship.

But we can reveal today that it has been an ugly parting of the ways.

Gallagher, always prone to fits of temper, was so angry and so determined to cut her out of his life when they split that he has already changed the locks of the pretty ?850,000 London mews house they decorated together.

She has told him tearfully that she 'can't see the point of living' without him. There have been long and emotional telephone calls in which she has appealed to him to give their romance another try. It was, after all, only a few weeks ago that he publicly declared how much he loved her.

But now the Oasis star is having none of it. He is turning a deaf ear to her melodramatic hints and is now entirely focused on the band's current tour of America.

'Noel is unrelenting,' said one of his friends. 'He's told her it's over and that's that. When he decides something he is incredibly stubborn, and he's so angry with Sara. No one around him even dares mention her name.'

His decision to end the relationship came after Sara gave an interview suggesting that Noel was keener to marry than she was. He also objected to her claims that she was a party animal and he a stay-at-home bore.

It was all far too reminiscent of the embarrassments his former wife Meg Mathews used to heap on his head. For Sara, a warm, intelligent woman, the interview was a terrible mistake.

Two years earlier it had all been very different when she and Noel met in Ibiza. At the time, he was still married to Meg, although there were serious problems with the relationship.

Sara was working for a London PR firm, Capitalize, one of whose clients was sponsoring some events at the island's nightclub Manumission, where DJ Fatboy Slim (aka Norman Cook) was playing.

Noel, who has a luxury home on the island, had spotted Sara backstage and demanded to be introduced to this slim and striking blonde. There was an instant mutual attraction.

'He came to hang out with us and we got on really well,' Sara said. She made sure he had her phone number and hoped he would call.

Noel and Meg returned to England and a few weeks later attended the premiere of the Guy Ritchie film Snatch. That was their last public appearance together and shortly afterwards they announced they had split up.

Noel, who had made a determined effort to clean up his lifestyle and wean himself off drink and drugs, had been tiring of Meg's rabid partying for a long time. He finally decided it wasn't worth patching up the relationship any more.

Noel left his wife soon after - meeting Sara may well have been a factor -and only a week later he and his new girl were spotted hugging and kissing at the Reading pop festival. The romance developed steadily and by the late autumn she was confident enough to talk publicly about it.

'Noel has had a hard year and it's been difficult for him, but we're getting on very well and he seems happier,' she said. 'He's a lovely man.

It's weird to think I'm going out with Noel Gallagher, but he's just a normal guy to me.'

This was not strictly true. While Sara was very careful to say she didn't care about Noel's status, she was in fact every bit as aware of it as Meg - another middle- class blonde PR girl - had been.

A publicist at a rival PR agency, who knows Sara, said: 'Sara is a pretty girl who likes to hang out with music people.

'Don't believe it when she tells you she's not interested in fame. She's like dozens of other girls who work in music PR. My view is that some of them would chew off their arm for a fling with the talent.'

At first, the romance was plain sailing. Sara was lively and fun and Noel found her effervescence captivating.

Within six months they had moved into a four-bedroom mews cottage in London's Marylebone. Where Meg had favoured marble and gold bathrooms, Sara persuaded Noel that something more low key in black and white would be nicer.

They stayed in together, played Trivial Pursuit, watched Popstars on television and drank good wine.

When Sara left her job to supervise renovations at the new house, it was an indication of the priority the romance was assuming in her life. Noel's main input, meanwhile, was to order a ?25,000 sound system with speakers in every room and the garden.

He said he was so happy that he was able to write songs more readily,including one, She Is Love, about his new woman

'She is from Scotland and she is very, very beautiful and very, very funny. That's about as much as I know,' he said at the time.

But while he was apparently content to take things as they came, enjoying her companionship and affection without thinking too far ahead, Sara seemed to see their moving in together as a prelude to marriage. Indeed, she was already visualising her big day.

'I'm quite sure Noel doesn't want to rush into anything after he's been so badly stung,' she said, but added: 'I love him so much and I would love to be the new Mrs Gallagher. It would be great if our wedding took place somewhere in Scotland.'

It was certainly a little premature, but it accurately reflected Sara's confidence in her future. The problem was that Noel, after marriage to Meg, was by then intensely wary of anyone likely to be seduced by the shallow glamour of the showbusiness set.

Looking today at the ruins of Noel's latest relationship, it seems likely it was Sara's chosen career and the emergence of behaviour mirroring that of Meg Mathews that brought it to an end. Noel has a deep suspicion of the showbusiness world - which is partly due to his downbeat temperament and partly to his experiences with Meg - and he hates meeting other famous people.

'There's too many a***holes to deal with,' he complains. 'I find it difficult dealing with other famous people to be honest because I don't really know what to say to them.'

His idea of fun is a weekend in Blackpool, taking his little girl Anais -his two-year-old daughter by Meg - on the funfair rides.

Sara, however, would drag him to celebrity spots such as the Ivy, where she was able to get a table thanks to her famous boyfriend. On one occasion Noel was observed, with a face like thunder, scraping the sauce off his steak.

A friend of Noel's observed: 'Fundamentally, he's a sexist, traditional, Northern male. Sara's a PR girl and a bit of a label luvvie about clothes. She's no Meg, but she is a girlabout-town.'

After her break to oversee the revamp of their new home, Sara resumed the showbiz PR life, albeit scaled down to three days a week with a new company outfit, Sainted - which did not please Noel. But then she made her fatal error.

Earlier this summer, London's Evening Standard asked Sara to agree to her first interview. Noel was not keen - Meg had embarrassed him with a column in a Sunday broadsheet and always went against his advice to do fashion shoots and interviews, which he hated.

He told Sara she shouldn't - but, just like Meg, she went ahead and did it anyway.

When the results were published, Noel 'went mad'. In the interview, Sara described herself as a 'dizzy bitch' with commitment issues, in contrast to Noel who owned houses and masses of possessions. She added: 'They say I'm trying to get Noel down the aisle, but I'm far too childish to think about marriage and babies just yet.'

It was exactly the kind of shallow posturing which Meg had always indulged in - in fact, it could have been Meg speaking. And as he read on Noel got angrier and angrier.

Sara claimed not to have owned an Oasis album before she met him, and said she didn't even know he'd had No 1 hits as she preferred more hip dance music herself. 'Noel hated that she was promoting herself as hip and cool on the back of making him and his music look rubbish,' the friend said.

She made him look yet more un-hip when she said: 'Noel will kill me for saying this, but my life's actually become more sedate since I met him. I don't need to go clubbing any more.'

A friend of Noel's said: 'He simply went ballistic. He just rang her up and said: "Right, you can **** off, then." It was the way she made him look like some pathetic wimp while she was the free spirit.

'She is completely devastated, but you know, she just shouldn't have done it. It was too much like Meg for comfort and he's not going down that road again. She has paid the price for coming after Meg - Noel reacted really strongly because it reminded him of her.'

It is an irony not lost on Sara that he has now cut her out just as ruthlessly as he cut out Meg. Her song, She Is Love, will no longer feature in his live sets. Like Wonderwall, his love song to Meg, he has vowed to never perform it again.

Darren Criss and Helen J Shen To Star In MAYBE HAPPY ENDING On Broadway This Fall

This morning it was announced that Darren Criss and Helen J Shen will star in the Broadway premiere of the new romantic musical comedy Maybe Happy Ending, with music by Will Aronson, lyrics by Hue Park and a book by both Aronson and Park. Michael Arden is set to direct the new musical which will begin previews Wednesday September 18, 2024 ahead of an opening night on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at the Belasco Theatre.

Dez Duron will make his Broadway debut along with Shen with the production. Additional casting will be announced at a later date.

NEW PROJECT announced for Alexander Skarsgård to star and executive produce "Pillion"

via Variety (5.8.24):

Alexander Skarsgard (“The Northman,” “Succession”) and Harry Melling (“The Pale Blue Eye,” “The Queen’s Gambit”) are set to lead the cast of “Pillion,” described as a “fun and filthy romance with heart” and being produced by multi-Oscar-winning powerhouse Element Pictures.

The film — to be launched in Cannes by Cornerstone, which is handling worldwide sales — marks the feature debut of Harry Lighton, whose short “Wren Boys” was nominated for best British short at the 2018 BAFTAs, was nominated for a BIFA and had its U.S. premiere at the Sundance Film Festival.

“Pillion” follows Colin (Melling), a weedy wallflower letting life pass him by. That is until Ray (Skarsgård), the impossibly handsome leader of a motorbike club, takes him on as his submissive. Ray uproots Colin from his dreary suburban life, introducing him to a community of kinky, queer bikers and taking all sorts of virginities along the way. But as Colin steps deeper into Ray’s world of rules and mysteries, he begins to question whether the life of a 24/7 submissive is for him. Has he found his calling, or simply swapped one form of suffocation for another? 

The film — set to shoot in the U.K. this summer — is an Element Pictures production financed by BBC Film, Picturehouse Entertainment and September Films, who will handle distribution in the U.K. and Benelux respectively. The BFI is also supporting the film. The screenplay was developed with BBC Film and is based on Adam Mars-Jones’ “Box Hill” which was the 2019 Fitzcarraldo Editions Novel Prize winner. Element Pictures’ Emma Norton, Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe will produce together with Lee Groombridge. BBC Film’s Eva Yates, Claire Binns for Picturehouse, September Films’ Pim Hermeling and Skarsgård are executive producers. Louise Ortega is the BFI’s executive for the project. Heads of department include cinematographer Nick Morris (“Wren Boys”), production designer Francesca Massariol (“The Strays”), BIFA Award winning costume designer Grace Snell (“The Souvenir”), BIFA Award nominated composer Oliver Coates (“Aftersun”) and casting director Kahleen Crawford (“Lost Daughter”).

Making her debut as a singer in 2011, she has gone on to be one of Japan's most popular singers. She is portrayed by Hirai Momo.

Kaori Takahashi was born on February 6, 1995 in Azabu-Juban, Tokyo, Japan as an only child. Born into a wealthy family, her father is Takahashi Hidehiko, a businessman. Her mother is Nakamura Mamiko, a singer-songwriter, socialite, designer, and former member of the eighties idol girl group Onyanko Club.

Takahashi's parents suddenly divorced in 2004, which caused her and her mother to move out of their wealthy neighborhood and into a small apartment in Yanaka, Tokyo. Takahashi and her mother would reside in Yanaka for two years until they moved into her maternal grandparents' home in rural Nakagawa, Nagano, Japan. They lived there briefly, moving to a larger townhouse apartment in Brooklyn shortly after.

After moving to the United States, Takahashi began acting and modeling as a way to support her mother. She attended an audition for Hannah Montana (2006) and secured a supporting role, and would continue working with Disney until 2010. Takahashi signed with Hollywood Records and released music under the label, but her debut album, scheduled for release in 2009, was shelved.

Takahashi attended high school in New York for a year, but moved to attend school in Tokyo in 2010. She would continue her modeling and acting career there, sending her mother a percentage of what she made.

Takahashi speaks Chinese fluently, as her mother studied it while in high school. She also speaks decent Spanish and French, the former of which she learned in high school, and the latter of which her mother also studied.

2005–2010: Career beginnings, stints with Disney, cancelled debut album

Shortly after moving to New York, Takahashi was scouted by IMG Models. She began modeling for magazines such as Seventeen and Elle Girl, for fashion brands such as Abercrombie & Fitch, and in commercials for the fashion doll brand Bratz.

Showing an interest in acting due to her love for actresses Lindsay Lohan, Angelina Jolie, and Lucy Liu, Takahashi began taking acting classes and auditioning for roles. Due to her inexperience, she didn't get many roles at first. However, she landed a small role in the television series Ugly Betty in 2005.

Around the same time, Takahashi's mother would spot a casting call in a newspaper for socialites Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie's reality show The Simple Life, calling for "eccentric families" on the East Coast that Hilton and Richie could live with. Seeing it as an opportunity for her daughter, Mamiko answered the call, and the Takahashi family was chosen by production. The family's episode aired in October 2005.

Takahashi would continue modeling following her role in Ugly Betty until she was convinced to audition for Disney's Hannah Montana. She scored a supporting role in the series, and she received critical acclaim once it premiered.

Following this, Takahashi would star in other TV shows such as the the sitcom Seven Street (2006), Law & Order: Criminal Intent, and in the film Cherrytree (2007). She also had a guest role in the show Wizards of Waverly Place (2007). In 2007, she began writing music and recording demos for Hannah Montana and other Disney productions, which included The Princess Protection Program (2008), 16 Wishes (2010), and Shake It Up (2010). Takahashi was also a cast member of The Mickey Mouse Club at this time, remaining on the show until 2008.

In 2008, she had a supporting role in the Emma Roberts-led film Wild Child. Afterwards, she had her first major film role in Lucky, playing the lead character Elizabeth "Lucky" Jones. The role garnered Takahashi a Kids' Choice Award nomination, as well as a Young Artist Award. In September, she was cast as Patrice in the Broadway production of the musical 13. Takahashi's popularity as an actress picked up, and as a result, Disney decided to push her as a singer, as well. Her debut single album, Kimberley, was released on October 9th, 2008. The album's lead single, "Girlfriend," debuted at No. 1 on Radio Disney. That same year, she also appeared in the music video for Miley Cyrus' "7 Things."

In early 2009, Takahashi starred in the television film Anything But, playing the rebellious Riley "Lee" Sawai. It garnered her first nominations at the Teen Choice and MTV Movie & TV Awards.

The same year, Takahashi was in talks with Disney to star in her own television series, but that would never come to fruition. She later confirmed that her debut album, titled Don't Tell, was set for release that year. However, months passed, and after the album's release faced multiple delays, news about it eventually stopped. By early 2010, Takahashi revealed that Don't Tell had been shelved and that she had moved back to Japan to continue school. Disney confirmed the news shortly afterwards.

The last film Takahashi was in before resuming school was Talk Talk Talk (2010), which premiered in theaters to positive reviews. Takahashi contributed to the film's soundtrack, which became her only album release in the States at the time. She also appeared in a few episodes of the Nickelodeon TV show Victorious, which she also wrote music for.

2011–2015: Other acting roles, debut in Japan, rising popularity

After moving back to Tokyo, Takahashi moved into her maternal aunt and cousin's apartment. While in school, she continued to write music with the help of her mother, and recorded a few songs which would be posted to her Facebook page.

Takahashi would ease back into work through modeling, scoring jobs with Seventeen, Egg, Nylon Japan, Vivi, and S'Cawaii. She modeled for the clothing brands JSG and Fig & Viper, the former of which was founded by former model Kaoru Watanabe. Takahashi was also featured in various commercials, as well as in campaigns for cosmetics brands such as Dolly Wink and ColourPop. She also became an exclusive model for Egg, appearing on five separate covers.

After modeling for a while, Takahashi had a supporting role in the Japanese drama Switch Girl!! (2011). The drama made her popularity as an actress rise in Japan, and later that year, she scored another major film role.

Playing the lead in the film High School Debut, it would do immensely well, becoming one of the most popular teen films in Japan and skyrocketing Takahashi to star status. She was nominated for numerous awards in the country, most notably for the Best Newcomer awards at the Japan Academy Film Prize. Additionally, Takahashi also sang "Heart no Tonari Ni," the song used in the films opening credits, which would go on to chart highly in Japan. As a result, the record label Avex Trax would later contact her and offer her a recording contract.

Takahashi accepted, wanting to restart her music career. After nine months of development and recording, Takahashi released her debut single, "Treat Me (Akachan o Atsukatte)."

Meant to establish her "eccentric" image and technopop sound, "Treat Me" debuted at No. 4 on the Oricon charts, selling over 100,000 units. It fared moderately in the States, landing at No. 39 on the Billboard Hot 100. The single brought Takahashi back into the public consciousness, and it set the precedent for what would be her debut album.

2012–present: Debut album, expansion into other countries, superstar status

Finally, on February 17, 2012, Takahashi released her debut album, Kaori. It was massively successful, selling over 400,000 units and debuting at No. 2 on the Oricon albums chart. It also did well in the United States, garnering a placement of No. 70 on the Billboard 200. With sales of over a million, Kaori was one of the highest selling albums in Japan by the end of 2012. Takahashi's sophomore album, Sweet 18 (2013), would turn her into a teen idol in the country.

After releasing her second studio album, Takahashi released her debut Chinese album, K.T. (2013). Prior to its release, the single "I'm Not Yours" was released. It topped the Global Chinese Pop Chart, selling over 90,000 units in the country.

In 2020, Takahashi signed with JYP Entertainment and ventured into the Korean pop market with the single "I'm Not Cool" off of her extended play Spicy 'n Sweet. Both the single and album topped the Gaon charts, and Takahashi became the fastest female soloist to garner a first win after just four days. She would achieve a triple crown three weeks later.

With over 10 million albums sold in total, Takahashi is one of the highest-selling musical artists in Japan as of 2024. On September 6, 2024, she released her eighth studio album, CHECK IT!, alongside the single "ESCALATE."

The album sold over 2,500,000 units within its first week, and its projected to be the highest selling album in Japan by the end of the year.

Takahashi is a lesbian, of which she's been open about since her debut in 2012. She has stated that she has known she was into girls since she was in middle school, stating, "I guess I've always been this way. I naturally gravitated towards girls more, but I think it really clicked when I was around 11. I never clicked with boys in a romantic sense."

Since 2014, Takahashi has been dating singer and DJ Elizabeth "Liz" Ronson. The two were in a highly publicized relationship for six years, until they publicly split in 2020. They remained apart for three years, but rekindled their relationship in 2023. In September 2024, Takahashi and Ronson announced that they were engaged after seven years of dating. The two live together in Los Angeles and own a cat, Matcha.

At the age of nine, Takahashi was formally diagnosed with autism and attention deficit hyperactive disorder (ADHD). Since the start of her career, she has been very open about her experiences with both, and has been an advocate for other neurodivergent individuals.

In 2013, nine years after their publicized divorce, Takahashi's parents were remarried at a small ceremony in France. Takahashi acted as the maid of honor. The year prior, she had seen her father in person for the first time since 2004.

In 2014, Takahashi founded the fashion brand Jazzy. Targeted at mainly teen and young adult audiences, the brand was based around Takahashi's own individual aesthetic, as well as around the gyaru subculture. In 2016, Jazzy expanded into cosmetics and began housing Takahashi's first of two fragrances, Electric Pink. The brand, now worth over USD$400 million, is well-known for its eyewear, handbags, and accessories.

Takahashi began deejaying in 2014, following a surprise set at Tommorowland. Since then, she has done sets at Glastonbury, Coachella, and at the Governor's Ball in New York City.

In 2014, Takahashi became the face for Moschino's Toy 2 fragrance, but left the brand shortly after. In 2016, Takahashi was named the global ambassador for the Italian luxury fashion house Versace, which was teased in an Instagram post in April of that year. She became the face of the brand's Crystal Noir fragrance shortly after, and has remained with them since.

In 2016, she became the ambassador for SK-II, the largest luxury skincare company in Japan. A year later, Takahashi was chosen as the face of MAC Cosmetics, signing a USD$10 million contract with the brand. She was later featured in a pictorial for their Viva Glam lipstick line in Vogue Japan.

Takahashi has also been named the global ambassador of Bulgari in 2018, and Hermes the following year, and Marc Jacobs in 2022. In 2020, she became the model for Chum Churum, a soju brand founded in South Korea.

The following year, Takahashi was named the ambassador for South Korean eyewear brand Gentle Monster. In 2022, she partnered with the brand to create her own limited edition line of sunglasses. The line, called Kashi x Gentle Monster, was sold for six months.

In 2023, Takahashi partnered with Push! Color, a colored contact lens brand founded in Japan, to release her own line of colored lenses, called DEJA U. Four separate colors, ranging from light blue to hot pink to gray to yellow, were released in May.

As one chapter closes with the end of the Venice Film Festival tomorrow, another begins with the start of the Toronto Film Festival (TIFF), and who better to kick off our coverage than the stunning Caitriona Balfe?

After being notably absent from the red carpet for some time, the ‘Outlander’ star made a spectacular comeback for the premiere of ‘The Cut’ at Princess of Wales Theatre on Thursday evening.

Caitriona’s look was nothing short of show-stopping, and of course, it came courtesy of Balmain—where glitz and glamour are practically second nature.

The black sequin dress, designed by Olivier Rousteing, was an embodiment of bold elegance. With its alluring thigh-high split and crystal-accented dungaree-style buckles, the dress perfectly encapsulated Rousteing’s signature fusion of high fashion and edgy detail. The sparkle from the sequins was balanced by the structured design, giving Caitriona a modern yet timeless red carpet moment.

However, as much as I adored the overall aesthetic, I found myself slightly distracted by the patch pockets on the dress. While they added a touch of cohesive utility to the buckles, I couldn’t help but feel they didn’t serve much of a purpose. That being said, they didn’t detract enough to overshadow the brilliance of the ensemble.

Caitriona’s simplicity of her hair and makeup allowed her natural beauty to shine through, a smart move that added an effortless touch to the high-voltage glamour of the gown.

Hey there lovelies, another busy couple of days. My son starts kindergarten tomorrow! Boy how time flies, huh? I feel like I was pregnant like last month, and here he is grown up and 5 years old, and off to school. Do you remember those days? I remember my first day of kindergarten. I'm 38 years old, and that's still a day I remember. I remember the brown wall with the pink buttlerflies of my classroom, and the desks I'd never seen before. I remember being scared...wondering why I was in a new place I didn't recognize, but I remember having such a great time too. I remember counting to 25, and reading Berenstain Bears books, and making friends and I don't remember a lot of other days from that year, but I remember that one. It's amazing what little things in life we remember, even 30+ years later. Remember to take a moment to smile and enjoy things even when they're a bit scary lovelies. Sometimes they turn out to be wonderful memories. I hope you're all staying healthy <3 Just some quick love notes tonight-- the first from our Pirate queen, and the second from the darling TheLatestKate <3

A blog for celebrating the unique style of queer, Latino, plus size fashion icon Harvey Guillén.

Over the last few years, Harvey Guillén has emerged as an important voice in the conversation around inclusivity in fashion, repeatedly making best dressed lists at red carpet events with his bold choices and taking every opportunity to advocate for greater diversity and inclusivity in the fashion world.

Since 2022 he has gone from mostly styling himself for his public appearances (and even for some of his roles!) to having a team of artists dedicated to helping him look his best in the spotlight. Through all of those changes, what remains consistent is the way he ignores the gender- and size-based limitations placed on fashion.

With excellent tailoring, bright prints and colors, bold flashes of skin, and the seamless integration of masculine and feminine details in stunning combinations that go beyond simple androgyny and venture into the realm of joyful, defiant genderfuckery, Harvey's personal style is all about obliterating barriers and inspiring others to do the same.

Memories: Scream Premiere (Y/N Ulrich Universe)

The end of 2022 and the start of 2023 were a bit crazy to describe it in a way, from the Avatar premieres, the Critic Choice Awards, Jack going to film another movie and you starting to prepeare for your VFX make up career while doing some campaigns for a few brands

But fortunately, march arrived and with that the Scream VI premiere in New York along with the press tour, and just like in december, the living room was a mess with clothes, shoes, accesories and things like that

"I can't wait to wear this bad girls", you smiled admiring your Valentino red platforms

"Wear your tiara to add more drama", Skeet joked

During early february, a small bussiness sent you a tiara with black stones as a gift, which you loved so much that you bought a crystal clear box to display it in your closet

"Dad, if I wear the tiara, I'm going to enter the list of nepo babies everyone hates", you pointed, "And I don't want that"

"A list like that really exist?", Skeet frowned

"It's unofficial, but it does", Naiia responded, "We're not in there"

"But we made a cameo on the NY Magazine nepo baby article", Jakob said, "That was wild, I printed it and hung it in our living room"

"You sounded like Toto Wolff on that episode of Drive To Survive", you laughed, "I have it, I have it printed out"

"That was iconic", Jakob noted, "I'm still waiting for the day he and Christian Horner have a fist fight, I truly believe Toto could beat the shit out of him"

"Or even better, a fist fight between all team principals", Stutz commented, "I'm betting on Guenther"

"Nah, Guenther would just sit, watch and laugh at the fight", you said, "But Zak Brown could beat some of them"

"This year is the Las Vegas Grand Prix, it would happen", Megan pointed

"Are you seriously thinking about adults fighting each other?", Skeet asked still folding clothes

"Which of them are you betting on?", you returned the question, "If we put them in a cage fight"

"Fred Vasseur"

With that answer, the five of you let out an audible gasp for the unexpected answer due to none of you thought of the Ferrari team principal as a potential winner of the fight

Due to none of you had to do a lot of press for the movie, you only had a shared interview with Jack for 'The Drew Barrymore Show' the day after the premiere, the flight was programmed on early saturday, arriving the same day during the afternoon and being stopped a few times at the airport because of fans asking for photos, autographs and even giving small gifts

During the road to the hotel, on Twitter you saw fan accounts posting about the arrival and insta stories from the people at the airport tagging both of you, at what you liked them and sent them a small message in apreciation for waiting at the airport

Arriving at the hotel, you sent Jack a text saying that you arrived while all of you registered to get the room keys and go to the rooms, on the elevator, you recieved a text from Coco Arquette

"Coco is coming", you informed, "She's bored"

"She's attending the premiere?", Skeet asked

"Yep, she's wearing a red dress, very Gale Weathers of her", you responded

"And you're wearing a black dress, which is very ghostface of you", Skeet pointed

"I know, is amazing", you exclaimed, "And we even didn't planned it, that's the best part"

Leaving the glam team on their designated floor, the elevator continued until it stopped at the eleventh floor where the concierge stepped out first with the cart with the luggage to led you to the suite, where while walking close you saw Coco leaning against the wall beside the room door

"Gale-Dewey", you exclaimed claiming her attention

"Billy", she exclaimed back

Since the two of you met a few years ago, both of you often refered each other as your parents characters

"Hi, I missed you", you said hugging her while the concierge opened the door to leave the luggage inside

"I missed you too", Coco said separating from the hug to enter the room with you, "Hi, uncle Skeet"

"Hey, kiddo, how's it going?", Skeet greeted with a fist bump, "Courtney knows you're here?"

"I sent her a text but they're doing press, so she hasn't seen it", Coco shrugged helping you with your luggage while you went to the small kitchen to grab snacks and something to drink

"I'll still text your mom to let her know you're here", Skeet said

"Dad, we'll be gossiping in my room", you anounced entering into one of the rooms

"Have fun and make sure there aren't any hidden microphones or cameras"

Closing the door and leaving the suitcases next to the closet, both of you took off your shoes to sit on the bed and open the snacks and drinks

"You won't guess who talked bad about me", you said while eating from the bag of Skinny POP popcorn

"Who?", Coco asked taking a sip from her Orangina juice

"Tana Mongeau"

"No fucking way! What did she said?"

"Well, I knew about it because a fan on Tik Tok sent me the clip of her podcast, basically she said that I came out of nowhere, that I was going to take advantage of Jack's fame and then jump into another famous guy, that I will be forgotten or live based on scandals, and that my fashion sense was basic as fuck"

"What the hell is her problem? You have been building your career since you were twelve during Riverdale with the cameos and the behind the scenes videos, your multiple campaigns with brands, you did a GRWM for Vogue a month ago, and she's more known for her scandals, didn't she had a baby she didn't know as a wallpaper?"

"Kylie Jenner's daughter, Stormi, it was so creepy, I'm glad they called her out"

"And please, basic fashion sense? You are one of the best dressed people I know, are you going to respond to her?"

"No, I'm going to ignore her, she doesn't deserve my energy"

"Well said", Coco nodded with a high five

"Anyways, how's it going everything on your side?"

During the next two hours, both of you updated on everything in your lives while taking photos and doing tik toks, which one of them was using an audio from 'In The Heights' from the song 'No me diga', or even from the first Scream

It was after the entry of the night and while both of you watched the resume of the qualifying for the Bahrein Grand Prix, the girls time was interrupted

"Tornado, a package arrived for you", Skeet exclaimed

Leaving what you were doing, both of you got out of your room to walk to the living room to see Jack standing there with a bouquet of flowers in his arms, and with comfortable clothes instead of his press outfit

"Babe", you squealed running to him

"Gorgeous", Jack smiled opening his arms for both of you to merge into a hug, "I'm glad you arrived well"

"I'm so glad to be here on time", you said without breaking the hug

The hug lasted a few minutes during which none of you noticed how Coco left the suite to go to her own not without taking a buch of photos of both of you, and Skeet went to his room

"These are for you", Jack said handing you the bouquet

"They are beautiful, thank you so much", you gasped apreciating them, "I'm going to put them in water"

Going into the small kitchen, with the help of Jack, both of you put the flowers in a vase with water and colocate them in your room

"Is the qualifying from today?", Jack asked seeing the screen

"Yes, ", you nodded sitting at the bed at what he did the same, "Max, Checo and Charles are the top three"

"And the guy that sent you that messages last year?"

"Eleven, and his new teammate, eighteen"

"Last year they got a good result, what happened to them?"

"Their car isn't as competitive as last year, the Red Bull on the other hand, is like a rocket ship"

"Basically a season of hearing the dutch or mexican anthems"

"Absolutely, maybe other anthems with luck, but I still want to see Lewis winning again and his eight championship"

"Abu Dhabi was traumatic"

"The FIA did a mess in the last laps, Mercedes owns him the championship"

"Do you think Lewis could swap teams in a future?"

"I honestly don't think so", you sighed, "Toto and him are close, it's like a father-son relationship at this point"

"Just like Charles and Ferrari, Max with Red Bull, Kevin with Haas, Lando with McLaren, Lance with Aston Martin, Esteban with Alpine, Yuki and Alpha Tauri, and etc"

"Exactly, they all have their favorites"

Still hearing the repeat of the qualifying, both of you organized your things in the bathroom and in the small closet, and after you changed in your pajamas, which were one of Jack's long sleeved shirts which was a bit big on you and comfy shorts, both of you lay in your bed to continue watching the highlights of the qualifying until eventually both of you fell asleep

The sunday, it was a lazy day for everyone, during the morning you and Jack woke up a bit early to watch the race, which started good for Red Bull with a 1-2, and then all the cast from the preview movie and the recent one hang out in the terrace of the hotel, slightly remembering the mini reunions during filming

When the monday arrived, which was the day of the premiere, the preparations started since early in the morning

"Everytime there's a premiere I feel like going to the MET Gala", you joked while the glam team did your hair and make up, "Especially being in this hotel"

"One day you will be there", Nora said while prepearing the dress, shoes and accesories, "Don't worry"

"Manifesting"

"What's the theme this year?", Skeet asked

"Karl Lagerfeld:A Line of Beauty", you responded, "He created iconic moments and looks in fashion, but doesn't excludes that he was a shitty and horrible person"

"What would you wear if you were going this year?", Tessa asked straightening your hair

"Chanel, and tweed", you quickly answered, "With pearls, you can't fail with that, and let's pray that men don't appear in black boring suits"

"Amen", everyone in the room exclaimed

The rest of the glam session continued with small talking and comments about the process of the looks, and scrolling through Twitter

"Guys, we created a masterpiece, again", you concluded seeing the entire look in front of the mirror, "This is not regular ghostface, this is cunty ghostface"

"What the fuck did you just said?", Skeet laughed while getting ready

"I mean, ghostface slays all the time, but this is fashionable ghostface", you explained also laughing, "Can you imagine a MET Gala horror themed? It would be awesome"

When both of you were ready, they took a few photos for social media and you did a few Tik Toks with audios from the movies, including the iconic "please don't kill me Mr. Ghostface, I want to be in the sequel", before going to the lobby and walk in the middle of the fans and paparazzi to the van

"Y/N, you look beautiful", one person exclaimed

"Thank you", you exclaimed in response before getting on the van

Fortunately, the ride wasn't long, so you arrived at the place of the premiere quite early, seeing more fans and paparazzi on the entrance

"Demi Lovato is already here", Rachel informed seeing her phone

"Really?", you asked with excitement

"She was one of the first to arrive", Rachel nodded

"I can't wait to met her", you squealed

Finally getting out of the car, you were welcomed by screams of fans and flashes from the paparazzis, stoping to take photos with them and giving autographs before entering

"How are you feeling the shoes?", Skeet asked while waiting to step into the red carpet

"Surprisingly, they are comfortable", you responded, "Besides, I used higher and pointy heels for the canadian premiere of Avatar, so I'll be good"

When they let you step into the carpet, you and your dad posed together for a few photos until you jokingly pushed him aside to take individual photos, then taking some with Melissa and then going back to take individual photos, until you felt a pair of arms you knew very well circling your waist

"Hi", you smiled turning your head to look at him, "You look more handsome"

"You look more gorgeous", Jack said kissing your cheek being careful of your make up and hair

Taking advantage of the moment, the press took photos and videos, some while you weren't paying attention to them, and then looking at the cameras and doing different poses

While Jack took some individual photos, you went and took some with the girls and also with Coco, before stepping aside so the cast and crew can take the group photo, until you heard your name being called by the cast to join the group photo, at what you trotted to stand between Jack and your dad

"How did you run with platform heels?", Jamine asked

"Dude, I don't know", you laughed

After the photos were taken, it was time for the interviews, the first one with Seventeen and then Vogue, when they gave you the instructions of what to say

"Hi Vogue, I'm Y/N Ulrich, I'm so happy to be here at the Scream 6 premiere, my dress is a Balmain, and I chose it because reminded me of the Ghostface costume, and this franchise has being part of my life since I was a little girl, so being here is so special, and tonight is the first time I'll be seeing the movie, and I hope everyone enjoys it, have a great night"

Fiishing that small segment, you went with MTV, where they gave you a mini mic

"It's a baby tiny mic", you exclaimed watching the mic, "I love it"

"Fisrt of all, it's an honor to be in front of horror royalty, the Ghostface Princess", the girl interviewing you said, "I feel like there's a lot to unravel of your outfit, which is amazing, so can you please give us the whole context"

"Of course", you nodded, "First of all, I have to give credits to my stylist whom I like to call my fairy godmothers because they make this possible, um, the dress is a Balmain which we chose beacuse the sleeves are like the Ghostface robe, and then we wanted to add pops of color red, which ended in the red platforms and my clutch, my earrings are mini bowie knives, the iconic Ghostface weapon, the rings which are from a local bussiness from LA are like the blood spilling and the iconic ghostface mask"

"And your make up is spectacular, I love the eyeliner and the red lips"

"Thank you so much, it's like what Taylor Swift said: 'draw the eyecat sharp enough to kill a man'"

"That's so genius, I love it, and please can we get a closer look at the nails because they are a piece of art", laughing you raised your hands so the camera could focus your nails, "Now that we did the outfit appreciation, we can talk about the reason why were here, the movie, you have a cameo, you met your boyfriend Jack in here, how does it feel to be part of this iconic franchise?"

"It feels like a full circle moment, you know, having seen the four first movies at eight years old, I watched them with dad and he told me behind the scenes, Neve, Courtney, Matthew, Rose, Jamie, Drew are like uncles and aunts to me, having a cameo and meeting Jack was so incredible, so yeah, it's amazing being oficially part of this legacy", you responded, "And also with this cast we are a big happy family, I love everyone"

"What can you say about the movie were about to see?"

"Well, I only was there one day to film my part and never returned to the set, because I hate spoilers", you laughed, "I only known the basic of the movie, and the change of scenary to this big city I think is an amazing concept, and what Radio Silence has done since they took charge of the story is incredible, they are continuing the legacy of Wes and honoring him, which I think is the most important, so yeah the way they create and develope storylines is one of the best thing I've seen, and happy to be part of it"

"Well, thank you so much for talking with us, it's always a pleasure"

"Thank you so much for having me, have a great night"

"You too"

Finishing the round of interviews, you went to the sidelines where you stayed with Anna to talk, and then walking to the theatre with everyone to watch the movie, and grabbing popcorn and something to drink

And after the directors and the cast, in which again insisted that you stand with them for the segment at what you accepted, said a few words about the film and thanking everyone for being present to watch it

"I'm excited", you smiled while the lights started to fade

"Any predictions on who Ghostface might be?", Jack asked

"I let you know after a few minutes of the movie", you responded

Being anxious of your reaction when the reaveal comes, Jack only smiled in a mischieview way

Certainly, you were shocked because the change of style of the openning but in a good way, and then you were mad at Sam's therapist

"There's us", you smiled seeing the small scene

"I'm so happy that I asked you on a date", Jack said in a small voice

"And I'm happy that I accepted", you responded in the same tone resting your head on his shoulder

For the rest of the movie, you resisted the urge to bite your nails, instead holding Jack's hand or arm, and also regretting not being on set for the shrine filming days because of your "no spoilers" rule, and also laughing when Ethan said the phrase 'am I going to die a virgin?'

When the third act started, you were already in tears because all the injured or dead characters that you didn't notice how Jack got his phone out to film your reactions

"Holy shit", you murmured after Wayne Bailey revealed himself as a ghostface, and then the ghostface at his left started to lift his mask leaving you more shocked, at what you turned to look at your boyfriend, "You're ghostface"

"Surprise", Jack laughed

"Oh my God", you murmured returning to watch the movie, only to see Liana's character alive being the third ghostface, "Oh my God!"

Apparently your voice resonated in the theatre because you heard some laughs

For the entire third act you were at the edge of your seat watching how everything was developing, and suffering by the way Ethan died, and then cheering when Sam and Tara's plan worked and the core four, Kirby, Gale and Danny were alright

"My honest opinion of Ethan, good boy and ghostface: it was hot", you said to Jack while the credits started, "You nailed it"

"Really?"

"Absolutely, by the way, please, if your comfortable, can you please call me 'sweet dumb thing'?"

Laughing a little, Jack got a bit closer to you until his face was next to your ear

"Sweet dumb thing", he said in a low voice that made you giggle

I just saw the movie, and I swear this is no biased, but is absolutely amazing, you are not ready for everything that is going to happen
