Dear Ladynoir,

My birth name actually means "first dragon," but I did find the metaphor interesting.

Actually, I must confess, I had sometimes used my birth name while in Khura'in when speaking in Japanese, though Ryuichi is not the name the Defiant Dragons used when translating their rebellion name to Japanese. That's because they're called the Defiant Dragons, not the First Dragons.

More specifically, in Japanese they'd be called Hangyaku no Ryu. Their motto would be "Ryu wa kussezu" or "Dragon never surrenders." The first part of my name would be there, but not the full. Even if my name was shortened to "Ryu" for Japanese speakers informally speaking to me, it would be "Ryu-chan" or "Ryu-kun."

So, no. No one uses my name when talking about the Defiant Dragons in my native tongue. It has Ryu in the name, but that's no more confusing than if a rebellion were called the Black Cats and there just happened to be a foreigner named Kitty.
