While Americans are distracted watching the Super Bowl, Israel has chosen to begin bombing over a million Palestinians.
It’s timed too conveniently to be a coincidence.
There’s nothing we can do to stop this but please don’t be silent. Even if you’re watching the game, please use your voice to condemn genocide in this moment and afterwards.

As Palestinians in Gaza seeking to escape the Israel-Hamas war begin applying to come here through a special immigration program, immigration lawyers say Ottawa is asking for an unprecedented level of personal information from prospective migrants. "It's strikingly different than what is ordinarily required for a visitor visa application," said immigration lawyer Pantea Jafari. "[The federal government] is asking for significantly more information than any of those applications, and even more than any permanent resident's application." This week, the federal government launched a new program to permit up to 1,000 Palestinians who are extended family members of Canadian citizens or permanent residents to apply to come to Canada and stay for three years if their families can support them financially.

Nothing like the Pakistani gov expelling Afghan refugees en masse back to a despotic country in the wake of a devastating earthquake and on the eve of an upcoming winter. All because of attacks on Pakistan from groups linked to said despotic regime that had been at the very least tacitly supported by the Pakistani gov.
Oh.. and a potential update to this (which has been coming as there are tensions between Iran and Afghanistan):

If you're wondering how to help Afghans, and discouraged by the fact that it'd be near impossible to convince these countries otherwise, International Rescue Foundation is probably the most practical source.
Otherwise, if you're American and in a blue/swing district, pressure your rep to push for the Afghan Adjustment Act and similar measures to help refugees get here and be supported. And even if you're in an area where appeals will fall on deaf ears due to racism/nativism/Islamophobia, there are refugee orgs nearby you can get involved with.
If you're not American, there are probably equivalent things that could be done.

Displaced Palestinian children. Despite the bombardment, they still try to smile. Are these children less deserving of what children in the west have? Because they’re Palestinian!? Being Palestinian isn’t a crime. They do have names, and they have dreams. THEY TOO ARE HUMAN.❤️‍🩹

Would like to shout out Blakey Flakeyson for always being reliable in having the worst tweets imaginable when Palestinians are being murdered

It’s incredibly annoying how many Zionists love to focus on Palestinian refugee identity when any raids happen in refugee camps - their logic being “if Palestine is their country then how come they’re refugees inside of it?” - which can be easily answered when you actually think about it for more than three seconds.
IDP (internally displaced persons) make up the Jenin Refugee camp population. Internally Displaced Persons are people who are forced to leave their homes but remain within their country borders.
These are Palestinians from other places in Palestine, mostly Haifa, that instead of fleeing the country entirely, fled to Jenin for safety. This is why there are also Palestinian refugee camps in Gaza and throughout the West Bank.
Zionists also love to act like Palestinians are given special treatment with Refugee status because Palestinian Refugee status is inherited from generation to generation (their insistence being that Palestinians can only be refugees if they were exiled in 1948 and everyone after that are fake refugees essentially, that is if they even acknowledge Nakba survivors to be refugees lol) - this is not exclusive to Palestinians and is outlined by the UN.
As defined by the United Nations themselves, the children of refugees and their descendants are also considered refugees until a durable solution is found. (Somalia and Afghanistan are also other examples of this on the United Nations website)
Refugee status is multi generational because a solution to their political crisis has not been reached.
Palestinians within Jenin’s refugee camp are refugees regardless if they were survivors of the Nakba themselves or not, they are descendants of refugees who cannot go home, thus also making them refugees.

Sudan conflict: ‘Our lives have become a piece of hell’ - BBC News
As well as the Sudanese, people from many other nationalities are suffering because of this war - among them Syrians, Pakistanis and Indians, and large numbers of refugees from South Sudan. In Port Sudan, hundreds of families are now living in an overcrowded shelter that was formerly a university dormitory.

Reading some of the shit posts from the incoming Reddit-fugees is like listening to German and Polish being spoken, but not knowing either language. Pronunciation is very similar, and sure, there's probably a lot of crossover words too, but if one were to speak to the other, there's still a lot that doesn't get understood.
I mean, it's not hopeless, but it's gonna take some work...
