What’s On Michael Portillo’s iPod: Lichen Slow
Here at Birthday Cake For Breakfast, we like to get to the heart of what an artist is all about. We feel that what influences them is just as important as the music they make. With that in mind, having just released their debut album ‘Rest Lurks‘, Lichen Slow – the new project from Malcolm Middleton (Arab Strap) and Manchester producer Joel Harries – talk us through what influenced the record.…

„We just clicked and had a good chat about Bolt Thrower”, erinnert sich Middleton. “I sent Joel an acoustic guitar bit and he immediately came back with a complete song. That’s when we thought we might be onto something.”
„Potentially a signpost to where Lichen Slow will head next: hooks but depth, and a little darkness”, erklärt dieser weiter. “The song grew out of Joel's chiming, mesmerising bass lines, bringing to mind magick, creation and a real or imagined deal with the devil.”

I'll be lurking tonight like a phantom from behind the screen of my phone, so I may not be posting any pics because my neuralgia has flared up so I'm in serious pain right now and it's hard to focus on anything when you feel like your being repeatedly stabbed down the side of your face with a hot ice pick.
However if I get rid of it or at least minimize it to level where the pain is tolerable then I'll post some more of my Hat Parade Spam

Release Rundown - Dutch Uncles, Lichen Slow and Sleaford Mods
Words: Ben Forrester
Dutch Uncles – True Entertainment(Memphis Industries)
It’s mad to think that it’s been six long years since art pop heroes Dutch Uncles graced us with new music. I’ll be honest, I was starting to worry if we’d ever hear from the South Manchester heartthrobs again. But a sigh of relief was let out here at BCFB towers when pictures of the band in the studio surfaced online…

I was catching up on Frankenbug VOD's, and this NPC looked into my soul. When I awoke, there was this. (moment of quiz NPC + Puzz summoning from the VOD ) (was going to have her stumble off screen right, then realized it would be much funnier to just reverse the frames)
PS:I didn't want to deal with keeping a top hat consistent so I just cut/pasted it from Puzz's professor Layton talksprite shhhhhhh (go see it here)
PSS:(Puzz faceplanting is in reference to this image(warning for flashing colors)+ Puzz 'stumbling in' to the stream chat. I sent the ask and then realized I was gonna add Columbo's coat, which covers so much of the outfit, so I just used the Layton sprite as reference before the response went up, might have gotten her hair colors swapped, whoops!)
