La Flamme de Minuit Victorious at Prix de Thornolile

In a heart-stopping display of skill and speed, La Flamme de Minuit emerged triumphant in a gripping race during the highly anticipated Prix de Thornolie. The race, which unfolded over a five-furlong distance, captivated spectators and showcased a fierce battle between its top contenders, La Flamme de Minuit and Griffon Rouge.

Set against the picturesque backdrop of Thornolia's vibrant l'Hippodrome Épitoise de Thornolie, the event drew a crowd of enthusiastic onlookers, including Thornolia's esteemed famille royale. Monseigneur l'Épin, a distinguished figure in the equestrian world alongside his father, graced the occasion and presented the victorious horse with the inaugural Coupe de l'Épine d'Or, a trophy specially crafted for this prestigious race in celebration of its inclusion in Thornolia's first ever Saison.

La Flamme de Minuit, a majestic equine with a fiery spirit, proved its mettle under the expert guidance of trainer Francois Delacroix and the skilled jockey, Pierre Leblanc. The horse's exceptional speed, agility, and determination captivated the audience, who eagerly anticipated a thrilling showdown between the top contenders.

As the race commenced, the thundering hooves of La Flamme de Minuit and Griffon Rouge echoed across the racecourse, creating an rousing atmosphere. The two horses showcased their remarkable athleticism and unwavering spirit, engaging in a neck-and-neck battle that left spectators on the edge of their seats.

The five-furlong race unfolded with breathtaking intensity, as La Flamme de Minuit and Griffon Rouge pushed each other to their limits. The crowd roared with excitement as the horses charged towards the finish line, their determination and skill evident with every stride, but it was La Flamme de Minuit who surged forward around the last corner, galloping across the finish line and securing victory. Griffon Rouge, displaying remarkable tenacity, finished a close second, leaving spectators in awe of the fierce competition between these equine powerhouses.

Adding an extra layer of prestige to the occasion, Monseigneur l'Épin presented La Flamme de Minuit and Pierre Lablanc with the first-ever Coupe de l'Épine d'Or. The Monseigneur also looked to be in extremely high spirits, leaving many to wonder if more thrilling news is on the horizon. This magnificent trophy will forever serve as a testament to the horse's remarkable achievement, as well as an enduring symbol of Thornolia's rich equestrian heritage.

As the sun set and the crowds dispersed, the echoes of this thrilling five-furlong race lingered in the air. La Flamme de Minuit's remarkable victory in the Coupe de l'Épine d'Or will be remembered as a shining moment in Thornolia's racing history—an exemplification of the unwavering spirit and indomitable strength of these magnificent creatures.

And let us not forget our Monseigneur's endeavours to find a wife during this inaugural saison. With the upcoming bal masqué in honour of his upcoming birthday in mere days, many wonder if he will soon be making an announcement. Though should we? He's been far too indecisive, and it may be a bit hard to believe he's made any sort of decision, though we believe it safe to say that it does appear to be between Mademoiselle Aubert and Mademoiselle Valery. Today's event left many questioning the Monseigneur's motives once more, but we suppose only time will tell.

1850: Night at the Opera (in collaboration with The Royal Thornolia Chronicles)

After my months-long Celtic spree, the time has come to briefly return to my old era of interest...

May I present to you a small 1850s set, made together with amazing Ali, the author of @theroyalthornoliachronicles! We're both so excited to finally share it with you all 💗 Make sure to check Ali's post for her half of the collaboration - practically necessary if you want your mid-Victorian gentlemen to be properly dressed for the evening!

While Ali dealt with the men, I focused - surprise surprise - on the ladies. And made two evening dresses, both inspired by the same fashion plate from ca. 1850:

If you follow Ali's story, you probably remember that a certain mademoiselle Eleanor Valery wore the dress on the right to an opera event. The dress on the left also made a short appearance, as it (or rather: its beta version) was worn by my simself Cecile, who was kindly invited to participate in the evening as well (no, that's not my real name. I just asked my husband to give me a random female French name, and that was the first thing he came up with ;)). And so both dresses are named after those characters: Eleanor and Cecile.

Both come in 29 swatches and I swear all of those colour combos come straight from mid-Victorian fashion plates - even if Ali claimed some of them remind her of 1980s Barbies ;)

You might notice that they vary slightly in style, and that's because I put an insane amount of work into texturing Cecile, as somehow I couldn't get it to look any satisfactory with my usual methods. I love the result, but the whole process was so convoluted that I'm not even sure if I could still retrace all the steps, let alone redo Eleanor in the same style. So we're left with this small discrepancy between both dresses. Hope you don't mind!

Deco Sims - Three 4to2 Sets

Natalia Auditore's Medieval Tavern Deco Sims converted from Sims 4. There's ten deco sims with three recolors each. Use "move_objects on" to place them on chairs. I had to boolprop them forward after the chairs shifted forward when I tested them. I made a separate soup bowl for deco, too. They're compressed and you can either find them collection only or in the catalog under decorative/misc.

4t2 conversion of The Royal Thornolia Chronicle's Victorian Poverty Deco Sims from last year's @simblreenofficial, The set has a man, a woman, a boy, a girl, and two groups of dad/daughter and mom/son. The files are compressed and there were no recolors.

Lastly, The Devillier's 1920's Deco Sims. Use "move_objects on" to place the dancing couple, mom holding child, sitting man, and mom holding daughter's hand in place. They snap right into the correct position. They all have a couple recolors and the files are compressed.

Do you have the Patch-day blues?

Patch-day blues: Game not working. Mods not working. S4S not working. Discord help unavailable. It sucks.

Cry unstoppable under your blanket -> Does not help and gives you a wet blanket and red eyes

Drink a lots and lots of wine -> Does not help and gives you a headache

Go for a long walk -> Does not help but you might feel refreshed. Or exhausted.

Kick your computer really hard -> Does not help and your toe will probably hurt

Read a Sims story on tumblr -> Does probably not help either, but you will have a nice time, and maybe feel inspired. Which is a good thing for when things are back to normal. (Because it will be. Soon.)

A night at the opera - royalty and nobility attend the opening night of the new production of Lucia di Lammermoor at the Royal Opera. 

Downtown Zonneminster received its dose of glamour tonight with the opening night of the new production of Donizetti’s Lucia di Lammermoor at the Royal Opera. Many of Simovia’s elite were in attendance, including HRM Queen Alma, HRH Prince Andrew and escorting the Queen, His Grace the Landgraaf van Hoensbroek. The Queen was wearing a beautiful green gown, paired with a kokoshnik tiara and diamond jewelry from the royal vaults. She seemed in high spirits and even indulged the photographers for a few photos with the Landgraaf. 

Also spotted on the red carpet was the newly engaged Jonkvrouw De Thier, on the arm of her fiancé, the Vorst De Geloes. The Jonkvrouw was dressed in a stunning blue velvet gown that matched her sapphire engagement ring, as well as the famed De Geloes sapphire tiara. 

The night seemed a success, though HRM Queen Alma was seen looking somewhat downcast after the second intermission in the royal box. Of course, it is possible that she was simply moved by the opera itself. 

The new production had set the opera loosely in mid-Victorian times, drawing inspiration from the lead soprano Alexandria Wenthworth’s Thornolian roots. The soprano performed the part beautifully, drawing a standing ovation after her performance of the famous mad scene. 

The production will run for the entire season and has already received overwhelmingly positive reviews from the major critics.

Is there any connection between Minnie and Henry’s baby names and the Royal Thornolia Chronicles?!?!?!

I see you’ve spotted my easter egg! While there isn’t any formal connection (meaning that Minnie and Henry aren’t, like, descendants of the Thornolia royals or anything), I am a die-hard Addy + Arthur stan and I wanted to throw a little Jonathan shade ;) @theroyalthornoliachronicles and I are friends and I wanted to have a little fun with it!

You will have to wait for the triplets to be born to see what the final names will be, but I think it would be funny to choose Adelaide, Arthur and Jonathan... decisions, decisions!

1850's Menswear: A RoyalThornoliaChronicles and BatsfromWesteros Collaboration

Surprise! 

A project months in the making finally sees the light of day!

I'm so excited to introduce not only my first piece of CAS cc ever, but to also share with you thousands of recolours for these two suits. If you believe my use of the word 'thousands' is an overstatement...well...hold on to your bonnet. 

Each suit comes in six basic trouser colours (Black, Blue, Brown, Green, Red, and Purple), with each trouser colour coming with three separate package files: Solid, Patterned, and Plaid. Each of the solid and plaid files have 100 swatches, while each of the patterned files have 73 swatches. There is also a mourning set for each suit, coming with 44 swatches each.

In total? That's 3,364 swatches!

Anyone who knows me knows just how much I value variety, and while it seems excessive, I've never been more excited. Especially when it comes to making sure that our Mid-Victorian Men are given the variety they deserve.
