I have feelings about Andre immediately choosing violence after hearing Cate's assault story, complicated feelings. Jordan gave her space to talk about it at her own pace and acknowledged her trauma. "You body remembers" they told her when she tried to downplay it saying "I don't remember anyway so it doesn't matter", all without overwhelming her. Marie asked her if she was okay, she put Cate's feelings and well-being first. And when Cate wanted to move on from it, they both respected that and moved the conversation to the matter at hand. Andre going full macho man and going to kill Rufus without checking with Cate at any point... I don't know how to name my feelings around that yet. Like I get the impulse to hurt someone who hurt someone you love, I truly get it. And god knows Rufus fucking deserves it. But having been on Cate's side of the conversation, it doesn't help in any real way. The people who have reacted like Andre didn't help me, the people who sat down and listened and acknowledged my trauma and checked on me helped me infinitely more. Anyway, the feelings aren't negative per say, more like I'm looking at an overly excited golden retriever himbo, shaking my head and patting him condescendingly on the nose, like you've got the spirit buddy but you don't quite get it.

Misfit Family

listen, i am aware that this is very unrealistic but tbf i don't really care, this is just a cute lil idea i came up with in the car, looking at my dog (who has some weird vendetta against me)

"Oh, she's so cute!" James exclaims, petting the golden retriever puppy they just placed in his arms.

"Oh, isn't she just!" the lady says. "We just got her in last week!" James frowns at that, glancing over at the scared-looking, older dog lying in the corner.

"What about that one?" James asks, looking after the dog sadly.

"Oh, Rufus? You don't want him, he's been here for years," she scoffs. James frowns again.

"Poor baby," he comments, standing up to walk towards the scared looking dog. He appears to be some kind of mutt, broken black and brown patterns covering his fair, with a long, wrinkly face, and floppy ears. Just then Regulus walks into the shelter.

"There you are, James, I've been looking everywhere," he sighs. He then seems to register where he is. "No, James, no."

"But-"

"We are not getting a dog," he says rather firmly. James turns around, eyes wide and sad and he can see Regulus crack slightly.

"James-" he tries again. James cuts him off.

"But look at him!" he whines, going to pet Rufus. "She says he's been here for years, nobody wants him. He needs a good home, Reggie," James says. The lady scoffs again, picking up the puppy from earlier and going to serve another customer. "She told me not to bother with him," he continues in a sad voice. Regulus looks down at Rufus and immediately caves.

"Oh, you poor thing," he says, stroking his fur softly, so as not to upset him, and wincing at every sore he finds on the dog. Rufus seems to be comfortable with Regulus instantly, where he still seemed a bit scared of James. Many people would be offended by that, but to James, it bring him a sense of calm. A nice thought that these two hurt creatures, trust each other intrinsically.

"Who did this to you?" Regulus asks, tears welling in his eyes. James sees the anger grow in his eyes and he stands up immediately to go yell at the lady for her poor treatment of Rufus and ask for, nay demand, adoption papers. James smiles and focuses all his attention on the scared dog next to him. After a few minutes, he seems to adjust to James' presence, chancing to scoot a little closer. James feels honored to have gained his trust.

"There ya go, sweetie, it's alright," he whispers. Rufus whimpers but lays his head on James' lap. He beams and gently strokes his thick fur. Regulus walks back over, a stack of papers in hand, leaving a rather furious and embarrassed-looking shelter worker at the counter. Regulus is smiling.

"You ready to come home, baby?" Regulus asks petting the dog lightly, who leans into his touch. James is absolutely scandalized.

"Did you just call him baby?" he asks in a whine. Regulus winces.

"I can explain-"

"How could you!" James gasps, scurrying back from Regulus. Regulus holds in a chuckle and James twists his face in offense.

"I'm sorry, baby, it'll never happen again. You're my only baby, I promise," Regulus assures, reaching forward to caress James' cheek. His body betrays him, leaning into Regulus' hand and sighing. He quickly pulls back pouting.

"It better not," James huffs. Regulus laughs, holding out a hand for James to stand up. He reluctantly takes it, walking to the front to buy some essentials before they take the dog home. Regulus trails after him.

"I think he needs a new name," Regulus says quietly. "Rufus is associated with his old life, his bad life. I don't want him to have to deal with that." James knows this has more to do with Regulus' own issues, coming from an abusive home as a trans man, but he agrees immediately nonetheless.

"How about Froggie?" James asks, giggling and Regulus laughs too.

"Alright little Froggie, let's get you home," he smiles, clipping the collar and leash onto their new pet. James' eyes full up with tears as they leave the shelter and Regulus turns to him, face full of concern.

"What's wrong, baby?" he asks. James mentally giggles again at the name.

"Nothing it's just. We have our own little family now," James chokes out, letting the tears flow. Regulus understands immediately, running a hand up and down James' arm.

"Yeah, yeah we do," he smiles. By the time they get home, they both have a few tears staining their cheeks. There they all are, their little family of misfits, who somehow fit perfectly together.

CeCe Fathdon

She has strawberry blonde ringlets, dark blue eyes, is tan, and has a bunch of freckles.

She's a Telepath who can read emotions like Sophie.

The Neverseen tried to take her, but Wraith and Alvar got into it and lost her in a small town.

She was taken in (not legally) by a young farming couple who found her and couldn't have kids. They raised her.

She was found in a small blanket with the name "CeCe Fathdon" etched on it.

Oralie and Kenric's memories of her were taken away by the Neverseen

She got a green cap from her human family and wears it 24/7.

She originally thought her middle name was Fathdon until she met Tiergan.

He met her at 10 and took her to Solreef in secret, and only the Collective knows.

She likes cherry tomatos and fiction books (but the Elves don't have those).

She has a golden retriever named Rufus, whom she brought with her.

She wears overalls.

Tiergan teaches her everything they do at Foxfire (that he can).

Keefe is her idol, but she feels connected to Sophie and doesn't know why.

If she has to fight, she resorts to her fists.

She LOVES plants and constantly helps out the gnomes.

Linh, Marella, Maruca, and Stina eventually just adopt her (not literally).

She clicks with Amy as soon as she meets her.

She's approximately 5 years younger than Sophie.

Eventually marries a guy named Chen.

She met Chen when he wanted to join the Black Swan, and she took him straight to Sophie's house, except she was a nervous wreck and didn't knock.

Sophie was in a baggy hoodie eating ramen noodles crying to Bambi that's playing from a laptop when CeCe and Chen walk in.

Amir Patel

He's Indian and human.

His dad died when he was 6 and he cherishes his mom.

He can be awkward and nerdy at times, but he's a really good friend.

He gets bullied a lot until he meets Keefe.

He finds him in an alley by his house looking lost, sad, and a little crazy. Amir led him to his home and welcomed him as a guest until Keefe found the hotel.

You bring someone looking like Keefe Sencen to school, and people are gonna stop bullying you.

He was genuinely good friends with Keefe, and he almost told Amir about elves when he bought the elf for Sophie. He chose to talk about Sophie instead.

Amir asked him one day why he left. Keefe opened up about his parents.

He helped Keefe as much as he could.

He was a good friend.

He has short black hair, brown skin, dark eyes, and black glasses.

Whenever he fights, he uses an old metal bat he found (projecting Stiles Stilinski lol).

He's the same age as Dex, Biana, Jensi, etc.

okay, these go around a liiiittle quicker and i'm a golden retriever -- like/reblog this post if you're interested in interacting with a rufus shinra from final fantasy 7 ! i'm 25 and have been writing on this site for way too long but it's fine. there are dark themes present, and maybe a little too much influence from horror movies. i'm not the most familiar with the remake trilogy and am mostly just here for fun !

I saw a local production of Legally Blonde the Musical today!

One of the local high schools in my city (my old school's "rival" in fact haha) is doing a production of Legally Blonde, and I went to see it today! I'm a huge lbtm fan, but this was my first time seeing a live production, and it was honestly very good!! I am very passionate about the door discourse so I was highly anticipating that moment in the ballad. And this production passed the test! As soon as I saw that they were wheeling out the door during that number, I was silently freaking out to my friend haha. Anyway here are some other random notes/thoughts that I had about the production:

Real dogs! Rufus was a golden retriever, and when he came out, the show paused for a bit bc of the applauding haha. Rufus also listened to Kyle's command to sit which was quite cute haha A HUGE ensemble (it's high school so it makes sense). But they bring back the ensemble for like every possible song Elle was great - she used some vibrato and trills during her solos. Most of So Much Better was kinda a mess (backing music/ensemble not really lining up well), but OMIGOD she held out that last note just like LBB did on bway so huge props to her! Warner was a good singer not as strong as the other leads but he has the best expression/acting choices - more on that later Serious: they didn't do the accidental proposal pose which I thought was a missed joke The violinist during Serious walked back out with some great sad acting after Elle left before playing the last notes of the song (I thought that she was someone from the orchestra but they were actually part of the ensemble so that was cool!) What You Want: Elle's white outfit was cute!! They used the "Jet Blue" line! The actors' school photos for the Elle x Warner poster which I thought was funny haha Harvard variations: they got rid of Sandeep's character so the song was shorter Aaron Sholtz and Enid Hoops were played by butch actors which was cool! Bruiser now loves the Bachelor Emmett - the actor playing him (who my sister knew from elementary school) is such a perfect emmett! Looks exactly like how one would imagine him haha Background acting: Emmett introducing himself to the students and shaking their hands while Elle and Vivienne had their first interaction in class Blood in the water: Callahan was also a very good singer. I think this was one of the strongest number of the show. They also added grey to his hair He was kinda touching Enid during his lines with her but she kept on pushing his hand away from her - foreshadowing! Paulette was amazing!!! I think she might be my favorite actor in the show. She sounds EXACTLY like Orfeh did on bway. Also asian representation!! Ireland - she killed it obviously - seriously amazing!! (though she did accidentally came in early at one part). The lyrics are different from the bway version though (they were about her grandpa) Playboy bunny costume - they added a little tutu to it which was cute! Enid sat near them near the end of this scene (in preparation for Elle stealing her glasses). She tries to drink from a bottle but Warner took it away from her and drank it instead Chip On My Shoulder: Elle wears Emmett's jacket! Emmett saying he hadn't slept since 1998 killed me bc this kid is definitely younger than me haha Elle and Emmett don't do any secret handshakes though :( Elle sat next to Warner during her squealing exit and I loved that so much haha Reclaiming Rufus scene: Elle ran back on stage and threw her arms around Emmett and Paulette - I am here for this trio friendship When Dewey re-exited the trailer and saw Elle, he twirled his long hair

So Much Better, as I said before, was sadly not the strongest number but I do like that Elle's parents appear offstage when she called them. And Elle held out that last note!! Once again no Elle x Emmett secret handshake :(

Horror/Angst Starter Prompt | Open

The question seemed to come from far in the distance. He was faintly aware it was from Rufus...he was faintly aware of their situation, their location... They were on a trip, more retrieval and running Rufus around to lord his power, from the President, making the VP move about in mostly fruitless efforts. It involved one of the estates with the name ShinRa, as few as they were, they were there. Some were truly used by their namesake, others used by employees to expand their work in different locations to different ends.

But the awareness was falling deeper and deeper, buried under a monstrously mutating awareness that the words he was reading were bringing forth. Yes, he was crying. Locked in his own mind, confused and pained tears streaked slowly now and again down his face. There was not sound, but his shaky breath.

There were reports of figures collected and shipped off to the private labs in ShinRa, but Vincent was sure he knew all labs...were that...Deepground? His awareness of that shadow in the companies depths was present, but there was a familiar ache in his body, and in his brain, as he thought of whether he'd met any of these figures there within. But then...then, it was the names mentioned. Hojo, a name always bound in rage and detestation, and remarking upon how some of his earlier work with beastial transformations could be of use with eventual candidates. Then, there was...her name.

Lucrecia. Brief. A singular line, remarking on a figure, Chaos.

All of this was skating a surface. He was...aware...he was aware of this, wasn't he? And yet memory was scratching the surface of some fierce block in his brain, and something pained and howling was clawing and pounding. His head was aching. His body was aching.

This was...this was an episode. He couldn't be having this right now. Bastard as he was, this was the time to report to Hojo. He fumbled for his PHS, dropping the papers, hands shaking, but he could barely see. Pounding, the beasts within him all growling, clawing. Was it them, or him? Why did he feel he was being torn up from within? He tried to calm his breathing, knowing that electric chip would knock him out if he didn't manage to tame this episode.

And yet....and yet, it wasn't him that took control. It was the greatest beast, taking control to simulate calm for a moment, to ease the protocol that would lead to electrocution until Vincent passed out. But it was not true control At least, not control Vincent would have managed himself. It was Chaos, coming forth through Vincent's body instead of fully shifting, and making fun with this change.

Rufus had neared, too close, reaching out, when Vincent's form that had been curled in and shaking had stilled...and when it stood, it seemed to stand a few inches taller. Hair usually bound in a braid or ponytail seemed to shift and come loose, floating like mist at the tips. He turned a shining red gaze upon the blond, the core of the red shining gold in sunken, gray face. And when his mouth smiled, as was unusual to see on Vincent, especially to this degree, fangs would show in clear, gleeful threat.

The tears left shadowed lines across the grey flesh, and with a roll of shoulders, there was the tearing of fabric as bat-like wings that seemed to have a joint claw burst forth. He beat his wings, and surged, golden-clawed hand gripping Rufus' throat as he flung them to the nearest wall, slamming him there as his gleaming claw shone with dark purple energy, licking painfully at Rufus' throat.

There were no words, only a breathy, gleeful chuckle from the demonic mouth as shining eyes appraised the figure at his mercy. Within, Vincent struggled to regain control, to regain awareness, to regain whatever ignorance had kept this at bay. But it was not until Chaos tossed Rufus across the ground and began stalking forward, that the Turk tore back control. With a lurch and a shuddering, unholy growl, the figure curled in on himself, more and more, until he was on his knees.

There, Vincent sit. Skin, pale, but no longer gray. Loose hair falling like a fallen divinity around his face, hands scrapping nails across the concrete floor beneath them. He took many deep breaths, in and out, before speaking. He attempted what he could of his seriousnes, of his Turk business demeanor, as if trying to force away any weakness with every word.

"...I have been...compromised... We must return to headquarters... I will ensure you are reassigned with a...more suitable guard, as soon as possible... I will take the punishment necessary, for my failure here... I am...sorry...R-Rufus..."

yay i’ve been wanting to talk about these silly guys :D (also adding Sawyer in cuz he’s Dew’s best friend, just not his roomate)

also this got long so i’m putting it under the read more :3

i’ll start with personalities:

so Layla is just overall very silly but also extremely smart and a genuinely nice and caring person. she’s the embodiment of quirky weird girls but doesn’t let people’s negative opinions of her affect her life. she loves animals and nature, especially insects and plants (also frogs and cats). she also really likes astrology but idk what her star sign is cuz i haven’t figured out their birthdays yet. she likes watching cartoons and anime with Dew and Sir Bonkles. she’s also a programmer and video game developer i think, her and Hayden wanna make a game together :3

Layla’s pronouns are she/her, she’s 23, autistic (because i can’t write a neurotypical character for the life of me), shes trans, bi, and 5’4 (one inch taller than Dew HAHAHA)

Hayden is my blorbo i love him. he’s a super nice and playful person, often goofing around and trying to make his friends laugh and have fun. he’s very hyper a lot and def has golden retriever energy. he loves reptiles and will not stop talking about them to anyone who would listen (same) and spends lots of time with his snake Mars. he loves to play video games but also likes being active outside and plays some sports. he and layla are definitely the two extroverts of the group lols

Hayden’s pronouns are he/they, he’s 23, he’s also autistic and has a special interest in reptiles, he’s got ADHD, he’s asexual, pan, and he’s 5’6 (my height)

Sawyer’s a mystery. he’s very closed off and reserved, doesn’t like talking to people much and doesn’t have much friends. but he’s really really nice when you get to know him, it just takes him a while to open up to people because of his social anxiety. he loves to play video games (his special interest) and is overall very introverted. but he loves his dog Rufus more than anything and spends a lot of time taking him on walks outside. he’s also kinda punk rock and has some piercings and tattoos, and he likes playing guitar and making music with Dew :)

Sawyer’s pronouns are he/she and she’s bigender, he’s 22, autistic, has OCD, she’s pansexual, and is 6’1 (the youngest AND tallest of the group)

alright so now their dynamics with each other and Dew:

Sawyer is Dew’s childhood best friend, they’ve been through everything together. Sawyer also has a crush on Dew, but has been too scared to tell him for years. after Dew’s parents died and he moved in with Layla and Hayden, he and Sawyer kinda started drifting further apart. this is because Sawyer didn’t know the other two that well, and she’s just a really socially awkward person and is scared talking to new people. also some other secret spoiler stuff i can’t say, but yeah.

Dew also likes Sawyer but he also likes Hayden and Layla (who are in a relationship) and is scared to tell any of them. i should also probably mention that they’re all polyamorous because i’m on the aroace spectrum and don’t know ANYTHING about romantic relationships, and monogamy just seems boring to me (/lh). so yeah Dew has a crush on all his friends but is a literal CHICKEN (they also like him back but don’t mention it to him. it’s also super obvious i mean Dew is a terrible liar).

Hayden and Layla are the gayest straight couple ever LOLL they’re silly!! (also not straight cuz they’re both bi/pan) they love each other!! i’m happy for them :) don’t know much else to say about that haha. like i said, Sawyer isn’t super close to them or anything but they like to have video game nights together so that’s fun.

Rufus, Sir Bonkles, and Mars all get along with everyone. Hayden doesn’t really let Mars near the cat that much because he can get the zoomies sometimes and go crazy (talking about Sir Bonkles but Hayden is also like that), but yeah they’re chill :) they get along and don’t try to kill each other!! Hey hey, I'm gonna do this here, because the text would be too long for the answer box below your post and I really don't wanna spam, so I'll just... yeah, do it here, if that's alright with you ^^

So, basically I got this character in mind, that grew up in the apocalypse and is 20 by the end of the game. She had a name given to her by her parents, but after losing them in the very early days of humanity's downfall, she kinda 'forgot' it. Not really, but she just didn't use it as often anymore, since she actually almost never met any other people after losing her parents.

The only thing she has left, is her little Golden Retriever dog, that she protects with her life (and vice versa). The girl is all he knows and even though he is well trained from the start thanks to her parents, he is very protective of her, resulting in some... not so pleasant situations with strangers.

The name of the dog is still debatable xD I'm thinking about calling him Rosso or Rufus, but haven't decided yet.

Anyway, they try to survive together, living of everything they can find and taking whatever they can to live a somewhat comfortable life together.

As they grow up, with the help of a few people they meet on the way but leave again, the girl and the dog become real survivors, developing certain routines when scouting out the area or when trying to reach food, that seems a bit risky to take.

They develop a strong bond and the girl has been given many names by the people they met now, never saying what her real name was and never telling anyone, what happened to her family. She wants to leave that all behind, even though she tries to keep the memory of her parents.

At one point, the girl and the dog even meet the Ericson Kids, but after a few days of staying there, talking to them and even helping 'em out, she leaves again (making her dog pretty sad, since he got to be good friends with Rosie).

But she decided for herself, that she's not made for groups and that her dog is all she needs.

After a few more years, her dog is 14 years old by then, he becomes really sick though. He couldn't walk that much before that, but now he can barely move a muscle without feeling pain. They travel one last time together, until they reach their hometown, where everything began.

The dog passes away after a few more hours there and the girl, well, young woman, is on her own again. For the first time since the apocalypse started. She buries the dog and gives him a nice little tree for his eternal rest, then she mourns him and leaves the next morning.

After being alone for some time, she finds herself in a big city, where she's looking for food. In a dumpster, she finds a young puppy, who's been abandoned by his mother and littermates. So she takes him with her, training him, guiding him, until he's big enough to defend himself. She gives him the choice to come with him or leave, but as attached as he already is to her, he follows her.

Just like her first dog did all those years ago. And with them, the story continues.

I love this!! There’s a lot to be told with this story, the poor babies. Honestly in the apocalypse things get real fucked up to where you question if you can really put your trust in humanity, however no matter the given situation you can always rely on a furry friend.

I know throughout the series there hasn’t been any good luck with animals but in a case where you can have time to form a connection with them is all the more heartwarming! Ugh it does break my heart, but I’m so glad she has another puppy to take care of here! 😭😭 Thank you for sharing! I would love to hear more in the future! <3

Trying to make this fluffy since today rightfully sucks, so... Garcy has decided they want to get a pet, but they can't agree if they want a dog or a cat. Who do you think would want which animal, what pros & cons would they throw at each other, and what decision would they ultimately come to? #DomesticGarcyProblems

Lucy wants a cat. Flynn doesn't want a cat because he literally is a cat and cats rarely like other cats. Wyatt has recently adopted a dog and Flynn hates it with his entire being because it's a rambunctious golden retriever who always barks at him. Rufus and Jiya have a nice old senior rescue pup who is sweet and grey-muzzled and everyone (even Flynn) loves her. Flynn just pretends that he doesn't.

Lucy and Flynn argue about it for a bit, but ultimately they go to a pound and Lucy adopts a cat, even while Flynn stands in the background with a grumpy expression. Like... a week later, Lucy comes down for a midnight snack and finds the cat curled up on Flynn's lap, purring. Flynn looks deeply resigned but doesn't actually move it, looks at Lucy, and shrugs.

"WHAT?!"
