Marrying his bride the day he met her was never what he wanted. Harwin didn’t consider himself a romantic, but he thought it cruel to be bound to someone you didn’t know for the rest of his life. It was more unfair to you, being a woman and forbidden from seeking out others for love.
His father had meant well with this marriage. Apparently, your father was a childhood friend, and you the oldest daughter of a great house. Though Lord Lyonel wasn’t ambitious, he was loyal to his friends, and the king, who encouraged the match. So in a whirlwind of affairs, the betrothal had been arranged by ravens, and the marriage planned.
You had married in the sept of King’s Landing earlier this day, and though Harwin had written you a letter to calm your nerves, the first time he got any impression of you was when your father led you to the altar.
He felt sorry for you. Whatever dreams you had held for the future had been crushed the moment the septon bound you in marriage. And on top of that, he wasn’t sure if you were scared of him or not. His reputation was true to his character, and next to his wide frame, almost every woman looked frail.
And now, while the wedding feast was in full swing, he saw your hands shake as you attempted to cut your food. He tried to distract himself, looking around the room and attempting to take his mind off of the fact that his lady wife seemed to find him unpleasant.
King Viserys was sitting next to his father, leaving Queen Alicent to put on an icy mask. She was better at hiding it than his wife. Perhaps because she had been in King’s Landing for longer. Princess Rhaenyra, on the other hand, was deep in conversation with Lady Laena. The two of them had grown closer since the rift between Rhaenyra and Alicent, and if Ser Harwin was not mistaken, the Queen looked almost jealous.
Prince Daemon was currently returned from his latest exile, trying to rile up Otto Hightower. Judging from the strain in the man’s jaw, the Prince was quite successful in his venture.
Still, it was his wife that seemed the tensest in the room. The new lady Strong, and yet, you seemed to be anything but. From what he had heard from his father, you liked to read and was very well educated, but beyond that only quiet. You did not ride, or hunt, or keep an army of ladies around her.
For the latter, he was grateful, but for the others… It seemed you didn’t have anything in common. Harwin was as educated as a future lord needed to be, but he preferred to train and hunt. The first time he even heard you speak outside of her vows was to his brother.
“A gift, for the bride.” He said, offering you a book. At that, your face lit up.
“Thank you, Lord Larys.”
“I hear you tried to become a Maester once?” he asked, and you blushed.
“I was five and had not yet realized the Citadel accepted neither women nor children.”
Harwin smiled to himself. It seemed that, at the very least, you had some spirit. When his brother had left, he tried to find something to talk to you about.
“So, what topics interest you?” he tried.
“History and medicine.” you replied curtly.
“Yes, I imagine Aegon’s conquest is an interesting read.” He said. You tried to suppress a smile at that, and Harwin raised a brow.
“Is it not?” he asked.
“Forgive me, my lord, but every child is told the story of his conquest over and over. The histories of Old Valyria before the Doom and Nymeria’s conquest are much more interesting, especially since so much source material has been lost.” you said.
He could tell that you weren’t asked about these things very often, the words spilling out of your mouth so quickly.
“What about you?” you asked.
“Hunting and fighting.” He replied.
“Does that not get boring after a while?”
“It is to me what reading is to you.” Harwin said. He knew you were from the Westerlands, where people spoke more eloquently, and though he was from the Riverlands and had no use for flowery words, he tried for you.
Your silence returned when dessert was served. You dreaded the bedding, and Harwin didn’t think he had seen many brides that were as terrified of it as you.
When it was announced that the bedding would begin, you turned even paler. Before the lords attending could swoop in to grab you, Harwin quickly scooped you up into his arms. Wordlessly, he left, as the crowd let out disappointed shouts of protest.
He carried you all the way to their new, shared chambers, setting you down on the bed. Turning around, Harwin grabbed the pitcher of wine to fill up their glasses. You would need it for your nerves.
As he turned back around, he could see you lying on the bed, the skirt of your wedding dress hiked up to your thighs and staring at the ceiling stiff as a board. He would have laughed at the comical sight, if he hadn’t felt sorry for you.
Instead, he sat at the edge of the bed, gently taking your hand.
“What were you told about the bedding?” he asked.
“My cousin told me it was painful, but my duty.” you replied.
“Sit up.” Harwin said, and you scrambled to follow his words, pulling the skirt back down.
“Your cousin must have a horrible husband.” He concluded.
“They- they do not value each other much.” you said carefully.
“Beddings don’t have to be painful.” Harwin began. He’d never been a woman’s first before, but he wasn’t inexperienced by any means.
“Oh.” Was all you said to that. It sounded more like a sigh of relief than a question.
“Did you not say you studied medicine?”
“The bedding was… seen as unseemly for me. It was forbidden.” you replied.
“I’ll be gentle, I won’t hurt you.” Harwin promised. Still, when he tried to come closer to you, you leaned away from him, trying to keep the distance. As if a kiss would kill you.
With a sigh, Harwin grabbed the dagger from his belt and your eyes widened even more.
“What…?” you asked.
“I won’t force you.” He replied simply, rolling his sleeve back.
“No.” you said, grabbing his wrist. It was the first time you touched him. “I- We have to someday. And I’d like to learn. I need to make my father proud.”
“Your father? This is about you.” Harwin tried. You gave him a half-hearted smile, and Harwin felt that he wouldn’t become friends with his father-in-law.
“If you want me to bed you, you should start by kissing me first.” He said, and you nodded.
“Will I be your first?” he asked. You blushed, lowering her gaze, and Harwin carefully tipped her face up.
“Good. Less pressure.” He joked.
“I suppose so.” you replied. “I promise, it wasn’t while we were betrothed.”
“And if it was, I wouldn’t blame you. Whoever he, or she, was they got lucky.”
You smiled at that, blushing due to his compliment rather than shame. With a determined look in your eyes, you put a hand on his face, pressing your lips to his. It wasn’t the chaste kiss they had shared in the sept, and it wasn’t heated with passion, but it was more than the trembling leaf of a woman that had sit next to him at her own banquet.
Harwin deepened the kiss carefully, his hands finding your intricate braids, impossible to tangle into. So he held you by the small of her back instead, kissing you until you broke apart for air.
“That was… dizzying.” you said. Your cheeks were flushed pink, and your pupils had grown dark, and Harwin could feel desire begin to grow for you. Carefully, he seated himself against the cushions, sitting you down in front of him, and beginning to take out the pins in your updo.
While he worked on the tight braidwork, he began to kiss up and down your neck, careful not to go too low too fast. You let out a satisfied sigh, clapping your hand against your mouth afterwards.
“They’re all gone by now. We were too boring, I suppose.” Harwin joked, and you nodded.
“You don’t have to keep quiet.” He encouraged. “It tells me whether I’m doing the right thing.”
“Oh?” you asked.
“Trust me.”
When he was done, your hair fell down your back in soft waves. Harwin briefly wondered if it was because of the braids, or if your hair was always like this.
Then, he moved onto your wedding dress. It was laced in the back, gold and cream embroidery hiding the strings, and you began to tense when he opened them.
“It’ll be more comfortable if you can breathe properly.” Harwin said, slowly pulling the stiff part of the dress over your head. The long skirt followed, until you were left in a thin shift. It looked like it was meant to entice him, barely transparent enough to see your shape, but nothing beyond that.
Harwin took his time laying the dress over a chair in the room, returning with the pitcher of wine. When he offered to refill your glass, you shook your head.
“I’ll be drunk then. I want to remember for the next time.”
“Already planning ahead?” Harwin teased.
“I don’t know. In case this time doesn’t get me pregnant.”
“You do know there’s more to this than getting pregnant, right?” he asked. You raised a brow, as if you did not believe him. “It’s… it’s supposed to be fun as well.”
“Can we start with kissing again?” you asked shyly. Harwin leaned over, kissing you softly. Your hands were unsure, cupping his face, roaming around his hair and awkwardly landing on his arms. Harwin readjusted them, putting one on his jaw and the other on his shoulder the way he liked it.
He really tried to hold back, but when you let another whine slip, he grabbed your waist and pulled you onto his lap. You squealed, surprised, but once you were there, you continued with more enthusiasm than before.
Breaking the kiss, Harwin saw that your lips had become a little swollen. Mindlessly, he tucked a strand of hair back to where it had fallen out of place.
“I’m ready.” you said, lying back against the pillows with a look of determination on your face. Harwin snorted.
“You are not. If I do it now, it’ll hurt. Have you ever even touched yourself?”
Your mouth fell open at that, as if he was accusing you of fucking a horse, and your blush took ahold of your ears as well.
“I’m only asking to make you comfortable.”
“Never… inside.” you managed.
Harwin nodded, making his way down your body until he reached the hem of your shift. Gently, he began to pull it up and automatically, your legs crossed over.
When he tried to pry them open, you pulled away.
“I have had my maidenhead inspected.” you said, voice high-pitched.
“I wasn’t inspecting anything. Just… trust me on this.” Harwin asked.
It took you a moment, but eventually, you opened your legs back up, allowing him access. Harwin knew better than to stare (for now), and began kissing the inside of your thighs, making his way towards your cunt. When he finally tasted it, he felt like he was ready to die – until his lady wife scrambled backwards, trying to gather her bearings.
“This is wrong. It’s sinful.” you whispered.
“Not really. Asked my septon when I was a boy, and also, it feels good.” Harwin replied nonchalantly.
“I’ll take you by your word.” you said seriously.
You lied back down, and Harwin held your thighs, trying to make a squeeze somehow feel reassuring before he started again, slowly lapping up the wetness your cunt had produced. He could feel you writhe beneath him, but better yet, he could hear you moan.
Muffled pants and cries reached him, spurring him on. Very cautiously, he pushed in one finger, continuing to lick your clit to ease the way. It went in easier than he thought, and so, Harwin crooked it to make you feel even better.
He wanted to be your first in this as well, and he didn’t care if that was greedy.
He had to push you down by the stomach when your back arched. Harwin chuckled to himself as he worked the finger inside you, knowing exactly what he was doing.
After a while, he could feel your body begin to shake, and your legs wrapped around his head, pushing him down. He almost felt proud of you, even as he began to run out of air, but Harwin kept going, until you came, licking you like a starving man.
When you went limp under his touch, Harwin dared to come up from under your shift.
“And?” he asked.
“Whatever that was… I think I caught a glimpse of the Seven Heavens.” you sighed.
“You… came.” He replied, half-asking.
“Yeah. It was wonderful.”
“Did you never?”
“No. I didn’t dare.” you said.
“That’s a pity, to go so many years of your life without pleasure.”
“I see that now.” you quipped, and Harwin laughed with you.
You sat in silence for a while, you leaning against his shoulder with your eyes closed. Harwin felt that he was hard for you, but he didn’t want to disturb you. He could bed you some other time.
Sated with the knowledge that he had already done this for you, Harwin took off his wedding suit and changed into the long linen trousers that were laid out for him. He could feel your eyes burn into his back. Just to tease you (and not at all to inflate his ego), he flexed his back- and arm muscles.
He settled back into bed, staring at you until you realized you had been caught.
“Does my lady wife approve?”
“Mhm.” you mumbled, shamelessly staring at his chest. “I want another.”
“Another?” Harwin asked.
“Bed me. Make me feel like that again.” you mumbled through gritted teeth. Hesitantly, you let her hand wander under the blankets and into his trousers. His cock was still hard from before, and your eyes widened as you felt the girth of it.
“How will it fit?” you asked.
“You managed two fingers. I’ll help you work it out, but there’ll still be a small stretch.” Harwin tried.
Your hand was still frozen on his dick, so he carefully guided it to stroke him. All word about you rang true, you were a good learner.
Harwin closed his eyes, leaning back against the wall to concentrate on the sensation for a moment, before he stopped you.
“Are you sure?” he asked.
“Please.” you replied. There was still a residue of nervousness in your eyes, but Harwin wasn’t going to say no to such an invitation.
Slowly, he pulled your shift over her head, tossing it aside carelessly. For a moment, he could only stare, causing you to cross your arms over your chest.
“You’re beautiful.” Harwin said breathlessly. He wasn’t used to being gentle, but Gods be damned, he’d try for you.
Taking his pants off again, he began to kiss your tits, lavishly sucking more bruises into your perfect skin. Your hands tangled in his hair, pulling him down towards you, and Harwin tried to suppress a groan.
“Good?” you asked.
“Yeah. Really good.” Harwin replied. Your response was to lightly tug his curls, a smirk on your lips. He kissed you again, this time forgetting everything about gentleness and going slowly, swallowing your sounds up with a kiss, desperately holding your face with his hands, dwarfing it in comparison.
His thumb stroked your cheek, trying to convey the awe he already held for you, and you raked your hands through his hair in response. His resolve was melting by the second.
Carefully, he angled his dick up with your cunt, teasing your clit with the tip for a moment, before he slowly sank into you. One of your hands landed on his hips, and Harwin froze.
“Are you alright?” he asked. You stared up at him, wide-eyed, before you nodded.
“Just need a moment.” you managed. Excruciatingly slowly, Harwin sank in further, waiting for you to adjust, until he was fully inside you.
“Can I…?” Harwin began. You nodded, and he pulled back, before thrusting forward with as much self-control as he possessed. He expected you to cry out in pain, but instead, you met him with an unabashed moan.
“Fuck.” you panted, before catching yourself.
“I don’t believe you’ve sworn before.” Harwin managed. You opened your mouth to say something, but he thrust again and your answer was swallowed by another moan.
He tried to put all of his newfound devotion into his thrusts, to make you happy. To satisfy you, so that you would not grow to despise him, at the very least in this way.
All of his intentions of being slow and loving disappeared when you began to beg.
“Please, I need more.” you whispered. Even through the dim candlelight, Harwin saw you blush, but who was he to deny you?
So he picked up the pace, his thrusts turning almost brutish. He would have worried for you, if your eyes hadn’t been in the back of your skull, and your nails weren’t digging into his back.
“Fuck, you’re so.. didn’t expect this.” Harwin managed. You gave him a laugh, which immediately turned into a wanton moan under his ministrations.
“My pretty little wife, legs open only for me.” He praised. Harwin felt your legs wrap around his hips, desperate to create more friction, more intensity.
“Only for you.” You repeat, and Harwin can see the change in your expression, from tense to relaxed. Your posture is open to him (in more ways than one) and his heart almost sings at the thought that you might not despise him or be terrified of him after all.
Harwin manages to steady his mind into looking at you, and Gods, you look fucking angelic. Hair splayed out like a halo, mouth parted and face contorted in pleasure, trying so, so hard to keep your long-lost composure. Nothing feels more right than trying to break that composure, to make you melt into his arms even more.
To give up any thought of propriety and be his.
His thoughts run wild, his heart pounding in his chest with crazed abandon and he can feel himself coming close to the edge. He searches for the bundle of nerves between your legs, hoping to make you scream and when he finds it, it works so well he’s worried the entire Red Keep will hear you after all.
Desperately, he begins to rut into you, watching all coherent thoughts disappear from your eyes as he brings you over the edge a second time. Only then does he allow himself to cum, grabbing your hips harshly until he, too, is spent.
Suddenly exhausted, he rolls off of you, lying next to you and only grabbing your hand.
He turns to face you after a while, you doing the same. Your eyes meet and a smile appears on your flushed face.
“My body feels like it’s filled with lead.” You whisper.
“My lady wife. I never knew I could get this lucky.” He replies. Harwin got out of the bed, trying to find a washcloth. For once, you did not ask any questions, eyes closed in bliss. You let him wipe off the remainder of his seed, burrowing into his side as he lies down next to you.
“You are mine.” You whisper, hearing him chuckle at your words.
“Indeed. I swore it before the Seven just this morning.”
“I think I’m falling in love with you, Ser Harwin.” You sigh.
“So am I, my love.” He replies.

Please write about Harwin being married to Rhaenyra's sister. When the kids' fight happens in Driftmark, it's their son who attacks Aemond because he was defending his cousins and brother, who were fighting with Aemond and because he called them bastards. When Harwin and her arrive at the hall, they see everyone judging their kids, so they get protective over them, and the reader is the one to stand up against Alicent with the dagger, while Harwin protects their sons by hiding them behind him.
ooooh I love this! I hope I gave your idea justice!

summary: aemond loses an eye to your sons, but your only concern is protecting your family.
author’s note: I loved this request so much! I also tried to not make it an exact replica of the actual scene, and I didn’t want to make the names of the children the same as Rhaenyra’s, so they will be unnamed lol.
You practically sprinted down the corridors, fear driving your every step. Your hands grasped your nightgown to keep the fabric out of the way, wanting nothing to slow you down. You faintly registered the sound of thundering footsteps behind you– Harwin– but you were so focused on your mission it was as if he wasn’t even there.
When you reached the doors to the chamber, you pushed them open with all of your might, slightly stumbling into the room. All heads turned your way as you frantically searched for your sons.
“Boys!” You cried out, rushing over to them as you spotted them. They were standing by Rhaenyra and Daemon, with one of Rhaenyra’s hands on each of their shoulders. Their faces showed clear signs of relief as you hurried over to them and crouched down to their level, pulling them to you in a fierce embrace.
The room was silent as they watched the display before them. Harwin was right behind you, a hand resting on your shoulder as you squeezed your children. They put up no fight– they were as relieved to see you as you were to see them.
You pulled back from them after you were sure they wouldn’t be ripped away from you. Your hands cupped the cheeks of your youngest, turning his chin this way and that as you examined his bloodied face.
“What happened?” You asked him softly, concerned.
“Your children,” Alicent spat the words from somewhere behind you. You didn’t bother turning to look at her; you kept your gaze focused on the two boys in front of you. “Attacked my son.”
“I’m sure that whatever they did, they did in self defense.” Harwin spoke up, crossing his arms over his chest.
You two had been sleeping when a servant had abruptly entered your quarters to tell you the news. You hadn’t had the mind to make yourself more presentable, and neither had your husband.
You both stood in your nightclothes, and as you rose to stand beside your husband, you realized how underdressed you were compared to the rest of the room.
Alicent scoffed from her place by her wounded son. You watched them as you snaked a hand around one of Harwin’s arms. He looked down at you briefly before turning his attention back to Alicent.
“It was not self defense, it was planned and it was an attack. Your sons and Daemon’s girls cornered him and beat him–” she began, but was swiftly cut off by your eldest.
“He called us bastards!” Your eldest cried in outrage, pointing a finger at Aemond.
The room fell deathly silent. Your grip on Harwin’s arm tightened dangerously. Fury seethed through your veins at the false accusation.
It was not the first time you had heard those words. Alicent and the greens had been attempting to undermine you and Rhaenyra for years, but tensions were growing as you all grew older. With your father’s rapidly declining health, both sides were preparing to take the throne. Therefore, Alicent had recently taken to spreading lies throughout the castle about you and your sister. She never outright said anything, of course– but she had planted seeds that had grown quickly in the underbelly of the Red Keep.
“My children,” you began, gaze trained on Alicent with a murderous glint in your eyes. “Are not bastards. To insinuate that they are is treason.”
“That does not excuse what your children did to my son. He’s lost an eye over words!” Alicent cried, taking a few steps towards you. Harwin moved to stand in front of you as you pulled your children behind you.
The doors to the chamber creaked open once more as the King clambered into the room. He looked angry as he made his way towards his wife.
“What is the meaning of this?” He shouted, looking first to Alicent and then to you.
“Your grandchildren have attacked your son–" Alicent began, but you stepped out from behind Harwin.
“Your son called my children bastards–” you started with narrowed eyes, but Viserys interrupted you.
“Boys,” he spoke, taking a step towards your children. They peeked their heads out from behind you to see the King. “What happened?”
“Aemond took Vhagar, and he was insulting Rhaena and Baela, so I told him to stop but he said he would not listen to a bastard.” Your eldest spoke, and as soon as he finished, clamor rang throughout the room.
“Quiet!” Viserys roared. The room slowly quieted as the King moved towards Aemond.
“Aemond, I want no lies.” He told the boy as he stood in front of him. Aemond looked up at the king with his remaining eye, and it was then that you got a good look at what had happened.
You inhaled sharply at the sight of Aemond’s wound. You knew then that whatever your sons had done to Aemond had been what he deserved.
“I called them bastards,” the boy confirmed, eye glancing over the King’s shoulder towards your family. “And then the older one hit me.”
“See?” Alicent cried, a hand landing on her younger son’s shoulder. “You daughter and her family have no respect! Her children attacked your son and took his eye over words–” she began again, but you would not have it.
“Quite serious words,” you muttered, which caused Alicent to turn on you.
“Enough to maim my son? He has lost his eye! Your children only lost their pride–”
You surged forward, a few feet separating you from the Queen now. All eyes watched the two of you. Harwin made no move to intervene. Instead, he stood protectively in front of your children, a hand going back to keep them from moving forward.
“Perhaps he should lose his other,” you seethed, watching her. “You have constantly belittled my husband and I. You look down upon us, you slander us, and now you turn on my children?” Your voice was shaking with anger, your fists clenched at your sides.
“Viserys,” Alicent called to her husband. “Do you hear this? This is a clear threat to the life of your child!”
“I am also his child!” You shouted, taking another step towards her. Alicent’s eyes widened. “You so badly wish to play the victim, and I tire of it. My family and I have tried to stay out of your way, and still you always find a way to accuse us of something.”
Alicent laughed in disbelief. “I, the victim? Your sons are whole– they are fine. My son will never heal!” She glared at you for a moment before speaking again. “I shall have one of their eyes, as payment.”
“You will not.” You spoke firmly. You heard movement behind you as Rhaenyra and Daemon moved to surround your children in a little huddle. “Should you even try to lay a hand on my sons, you will lose the hand.”
“Another threat,” Alicent huffed in disbelief. “Viserys–”
The King, who had been standing to the side unsure of what to say, moved to stand between the two of you cautiously. He was torn between the pair of you– Alicent was his Queen, but you were his second daughter.
“I will hear no more of this,” Viserys said, unable to pick a side. “All children will be dealt with by their parents, after sincere apologies have been made.”
Alicent was hysterical now as she shook her head. “This is not justice!” She shouted, eyes flitting around the room in search of support. “I will take their eyes myself!” She moved forward then, and without a second’s thought, you acted.
You reached forward, hand wrapping around the dagger strapped to your father’s waist. You unsheathed it and held it up as Alicent raised her hands to you. Chaos erupted, voices yelling in surprise and children screaming, but you couldn’t hear any of it.
The roar of the room dimmed as you stared into Alicent’s eyes, your hands shaking with force as you tried to push the dagger towards her.
“I will kill you before you touch them,” you whispered to her, eyes wide with adrenaline as her hands locked around your wrists and tried to push you away.
“You have become someone I do not recognize.” She told you, eyes sparkling with unshed tears.
“As have you. And now they will all know how you spin tales–”
“Enough!” Viserys shouted again, bringing you back to the present.
You shoved Alicent back then, dropping the dagger to the floor. She stumbled backwards as you stepped back, an arm wrapping around your shoulders. Harwin. You looked up at him and he gave you the smallest smile.
He had never seen you so fierce– so protective over the ones you loved. And he was proud to know that you would always stand up for your family, even against the Queen herself.
“This infighting must cease! We are Targaryens– I will have no more of this constant bickering!” Viserys was yelling, but you paid him no mind as Harwin steered you back to your children.
Rhaenyra and Daemon stepped aside as you pulled your boys into your sides, a hand on each of their shoulders, holding them tightly.
“Good job,” Rhaenyra whispered into your ear with the ghost of a grin. You nodded once in response.
People began filing out of the room, slowly but surely. With no more dramatics to keep them consumed, they began to feel the late hour. You refused to move as you watched them go, your hands clutched around your children. Harwin stood protectively in front of the three of you, watching the passersby like a hawk.
Rhaenyra and Daemon also stood by your side. Rhaenyra placed a comforting hand on your shoulder. Daemon said nothing, but the fact that he had remained spoke volumes. He was notorious for disappearing at the worst times.
You only moved when everyone else had left the room, including Alicent and her children. She had not even spared you a glance as she ushered her sons and daughter from the room.
With the room empty, Harwin relaxed his guard slightly. He turned to you and gave a small nod. “I believe we should get these boys back to bed.”
You nodded in reply, removing your hands from your children. Rhaenyra and Daemon bid you goodnight before they slipped from the chamber together.
Harwin placed a hand at the small of your back, gently guiding you to the door. Your children walked a pace in front of you, that way you could watch them at all times.
“You did well,” Harwin whispered to you, leaning down to brush his lips against your ear.
“I have certainly made us an enemy,” you deadpanned.
“They were already enemies,” Harwin assured you, his eyes flicking back to the boys. “Anyone who tries to harm them is an enemy.”
“I agree.” You told him.
You both fell silent for a moment as you gathered your thoughts. Although you had seemed brave standing up to the Queen in a room full of people– you were now terrified.
You had no clue what she would do or say about what had happened. She would certainly spin things so that you were the evil one. You wrung your hands in anxiety– not so much for yourself, but for your kids. Your husband. You would do anything for them.
“I think the boys should stay in our quarters tonight,” your voice was quiet as you spoke to your husband. Harwin nodded with no protests.
“Of course.”
The four of you made your way back to yours and Harwin’s quarters. The boys were ecstatic to sleep in such a big bed, and you couldn’t help but laugh as they went back to their childish ways. It was as if the events of the last hour hadn’t occurred.
When you finally got them to lay down, you could not sleep. You sat in a nearby lounge, your eyes trained on their sleeping figures. You feared what would happen if you looked away for even a second.
“My love,” Harwin spoke softly as to not rouse the children. He had been speaking to someone in the corridor– a trusted guard, perhaps. When he reentered the room he came straight to you, crouching down to your side. “You must get some rest. Tomorrow will be long.”
You shook your head. “I do not trust her. What if she has something wicked planned?”
“She would not dare,” Harwin assured you. “Not tonight.”
You did not respond. Harwin sighed heavily, one of his hands reaching for your own. You allowed his touch, his thumb rubbing soothing circles into your skin.
“I have a trusted watchman stationed at our door. No harm will come.”
You still did not move.
“I will stand watch,” he finally said. You knew he didn’t mind standing watch, but of course he would prefer to sleep– you didn’t blame him.
But you couldn’t shake your fears, and so you nodded.
“Thank you, my love,” you told him, turning your head to face him. He smiled, and you leaned forward to press your lips to his.
It was a short but sweet kiss, and exhaustion crept over you when you pulled away. Harwin helped you up from the lounge and guided you to the bed. You stifled a laugh as he rolled one of the boys over, making room for you.
“Sleep well,” he whispered, pressing a chaste kiss to your forehead.
“I’ll make this up to you,” you told him. He grinned.
“I’m sure you will.”
You rolled your eyes, but you were thankful for his lightheartedness. He left to go sit on the lounge, and you closed your eyes, letting sleep finally take you.

The crowd thickens on the dance floor. You are sitting off to the side, on your third cup of wine, watching with amusement as your best friend gets in a heated discussion with Daemon in the middle of the room for the entire crowd to watch. As interested as you are as to what will happen between them, you take a sip and divert your eyes away so if someone were to interrogate you, you’d be able to feign cluelessness.
Your eyes sweep over the room, taking in the attendees. There’s King Viserys, who’s aggressively moving his knife back and forth in a cutting motion except he’s missing the actual chicken because he’s too absorbed watching with scandalised eyes at his brother and daughter.
Then there’s Queen Alicent, who’s also watching, but more subtly. She’s gotten better at concealing her emotions, and much better at learning the subtle ways of the court. You’ll have to warn Rhaenyra about her old friend.
But like every time the two of you are in the same room together, your eyes are eventually drawn to him. Unsurprisingly, he’s already staring at you. Ser Harwin Strong stands across the room with someone talking to him, but it’s clear he’s no longer interested in them. You smile at him, and he bows his head in greeting. His eyes shamelessly rake you up and down, and to tease and appease his appetite which you know all too well, you lean forwards slightly so your dress gives him a much nicer view. You grin at his smile.
That is the crux of your relationship. Longing glances from across the room, a moment of flirtation that doesn’t lead everywhere. For now, it’s fun. Sneaking around, teasing each other in public, the possibilities of what could be existing in the inch of space between your lips when you have your back against the wall and his chest pressed against yours, never pushing further, but not pulling away. You’re both satisfied with it for now. But how long will it last before it’s no longer enough and you both must make the decision of either being together or forever apart?
A scream rises above the crowd, tearing your attention from him. Duty and loyalty to the princess takes over your body, and you stand in search for Rhaenyra immediately. You catch sight of her white hair and see as the thick crowd, now panicked, shove the princess aside.
“Rhaenyra!” you shout out to her, but no one hears you.
No one except for ser Harwin, who despite being so far from you and on the other side of the panicking crowd, sees you grab the knife you had been cutting your chicken with and head determinedly into the crowd to defend your friend. As frustrated he is by you endangering yourself, he can’t help but chuckle at the sight of your stubbornness, loyalty, and bravery. But worry overtakes him as you disappear into the throng of bodies, gone from his view.
Out of the corner of his eye, he sees his father motion for him to grab the princess. Harwin stretches his head to the left before shoving aside the person in front of him, then the person behind them and every else who stands in his way. He occasionally punches someone if they won’t move. As the crowd gets even thicker, he begins to use his body to barrel his way through. He does pretty much anything that needs to be done until he catches a glimpse of you again, now having made it to the princess’ side. Blood drips down your knife. The sleeve on your pretty blue dress is ripped, and he sees blood stains around it.
You turn and your eyes meet, as if you could just feel his presence when he came near enough.
“Ser Harwin,” you gasp out. “Take the princess to safety—OH!”
The floor disappears from under your feet.
You scream out as his large hands grasp your waist, and with barely a grunt, hoist you over his very broad shoulders. The heat from his hands is familiar, the grip on your waist drawing memories from two nights before, but in this moment, all you feel is anger and disbelief as you are carried away from Rhaenyra who is picked up in a similar position by another member of the city watch.
“Put me down, ser Harwin!” you shout. You slam your fists against his back, not that he’d feel it.
“Stop moving, my lady,” he says gruffly.
You twist around so you can see a glimpse of where you’re going. One hand is still wrapped around your legs to keep you from falling. His other hand is shoving people aside to clear a way.
“PUT ME DOWN!” You try to kick, but his grip tightens.
Then he slaps your ass.
“I said, stop moving!”
Realizing that this isn’t a fight you’re going to win, you huff and stay still as he fights through the rest of the room. Only out in the hall where it’s silent, empty, and dark, does he bend down to put you gently on the ground.
You slap his chest. “You were supposed to get the princess to safety!”
“I was getting my lady to safety first,” he says unabashedly.
“You can’t put me above Rhaenyra!”
“Can’t I?”
Heat floods your cheeks at his words. You look down and see that his hands are still gripping your waist, as if he’s still keeping you safe. Silence passes between you, only the sounds of his and yours heavy breathing filling the air. Gradually, your anger ebbs away, but still his grip doesn’t loosen.
“You can let go of me now, ser Harwin,” you say softly, breaking the silence.
He doesn’t. He steps forward, forcing you take a step backward. Forwards, back, forwards, back, your eyes never looking away from his until your back hits the wall. He takes a step forward. Then another. He’s much taller than you, and much broader. His entire presence looms over you, but you don’t feel terrified or small. If anything, you only feel protected. Secure.
Loved.
He reaches for his shirt and tears a strip from the bottom. You don’t protest as he dabs the blood on your arm before wrapping it over the wound. When he’s done, he bends down to press a kiss against it.
“Does it hurt?” he asks softly.
You shake your head. The scalding touch of him being so close to you yet not doing anything is more unbearable than the knife that cut you.
“Who did it?”
“Harwin.”
“People get hurt from fights all the time. No one will know it was intentional.”
You can’t stop the chuckle from escaping. He smiles softly at you and moves even closer so his forehead is resting against yours, his breath warm over your lips.
“You can’t do that again,” he says.
You look at him challengingly. “Can’t I?”
“No, you can’t. Stop risking yourself.”
“Rhaenyra is my friend, and I have a feeling that things are only going to get worse from here. I have to stay by her side and protect her.”
He sighs, and you know he understands that he can’t ask you to forsake your friendship with her. “Then I will stand by your side and protect you,” he says instead.
You raise your brows. “Oh, will you?”
“Enough of this hiding around and being on opposite ends of the room. I want to be by your side at all times.”
“And how will you do that, ser Harwin?”
He takes your hand in his and presses a kiss to the inside of your palm. “Marry me,” he says, and you feel everything in you stop until he is all you can see and think and feel.
“Marry me and be mine.”

Paring: Daemon Targaryen x reader, Harwin Strong x reader, Criston Cole x reader
Warnings: Swearing, oral sex, fingering, handjobs, p in v, Daemon being a dickhead
1.01
“What does the winner get?” You ask, a smirk pulling on your lips.
Harwin's lips brush against your ear as he whispers, “Whatever they want.”
“Fuck, Harwin!”
Harwin adds another finger to pump inside you while he uses his mouth to suck on your clit. He won the silly game you played while sneakily drinking in a tavern together in the street of silk while being dressed in a disguise, and what he wanted was to hear his princess beg, and beg you would.
“Please let me cum.”
Just as you’re about to reach your peak, Harwin removes his fingers. Chuckling to himself, seeing the frown on your face, he says, “You can do better than that.”
Not wanting to give in so easily since he refused you, you roll your eyes at his comment and lower your hand to attend to your own needs, but Harwin quickly snatches both your wrists and holds them above your head, one of his large hands holding them together with ease. He uses his free hand to rub his leaking cocks against you, slitting them over your clit and sending a tingling sensation through you.
A small gasp leaves your mouth. You want to beg, but chew on your lower lip instead.
Harwin leaves gentle kisses over your face. “My stubborn little princess, I know what you want, and I’ll give you what you want as soon as you say, please.”
His lips trail down your neck to your breast. He takes one of your hard nipples into his mouth and gently bites down on it, causing you to moan. Between the mixture of pain and pleasure, it causes you to loudly plead with him, “Please, please, please!”
“Please what?” Harwin asks before gently biting on your lower lip.
“Please fuck me!”
“Anything my princess wants, she gets,” he says before sliding inside you. He buries his face into the crook of your neck as he finds a steady rhythm as he thrusts inside.
What would all the ladies and the lords of the realm think if they knew the beloved second daughter of King Viserys and sister to the heir to the throne was being fucked by her sworn protector? Although it sounded completely scandalous, your husband, Prince Daemon, knew what was going on. Once your betrothal was announced, you and Daemon came to an agreement. You would do your duty by continuing your family’s bloodline, but you would also have lovers on the side.
You did love Daemon and were glad he would one day be the father of your children. But Harwin made your heart feel warm in a way you’ve never felt before.”
“Gods,” you squeal when Harwin pinches your clit. “I’m so close!”
“Cum for me. I want to feel you soak me.”
Doing as you’re told, you soak Harwin’s cock, which triggers his own orgasm when he feels you clench around him.
Harwin pulls out of your swollen pussy, watching as his cum slowly dribbles out. He reaches for a damp cloth and gently cleans you up before pressing a kiss on your soft lips. “Do you want to stay for a while?”
You look outside, then let out a deep sigh. “I do, but I should be heading back.”
“I understand,” he says, kissing your forehead before standing to redress. “I’ll make sure you get back to your bedchambers safely before turning in for the night.”
Your legs dangle over the edge of the table you’re sitting on as you flick through the delicate pages of the book in your hand. You were waiting for your lady-in-waiting to return; she had gone to fetch you moon tea from the maester before you bathed.
You jump when the door to the bedroom suddenly slams shut. You lift your head to see your husband storming into the room. You could see the fury burning beneath his eyes.
“Daemon, is everything okay?”
He snaps his head in your direction and stares at you for a moment. His fingers twitch by his side, and his jaw is clenched slightly. You gulped down; it made you nervous, not knowing what had made him so angry.
He stands in front of you, his strong hands gripping your hips as he pulls you closer to the edge of the table and begins kissing your jawline. You wanted to embrace Daemon, knowing that touch, sexual or not, was one of the things he craved most, but it felt wrong when you still smelled of Harwin.
When you feel his hands traveling to the bottoms of your skirt, you mumble, “Valzrys... I still need to bathe.” You push his hand away while feeling his gaze burning into you.
Incoherent words pass his lips; his anger has shifted in your direction, and eventually you understand what he’s saying. “Is it too much to wish that I come to my wife at night and she’s not full of another man’s seed like a common wh-”
He cuts himself off before finishing the sentence.
“That’s not fair; you fucked your way through half of the streets of silk, and I’ve never once said anything. I’ve only ever had one lover, and it doesn’t make me a common whore when it’s more than a physical connection. Harwin cares about me.”
He snorts out a cruel laugh. “Yes, I’m sure he cares about Rhaenyra in the same way.”
Your lips begin to tremble. The rumors of Harwin and your sister having an affair had hurt you deeply, since Rhaenyra knew everything. To you, it would be a betrayal you could never come back from; it would break your heart, and Daemon knew this more than ever. You clear your throat. “You’re just saying that to hurt me. Rhaenyra wouldn’t do that.”
“Perhaps there is some truth in the rumors circling the keep, and you’re the only one who doesn’t believe it.”
You jump down from the table, your bare feet hitting against the ground. “Unless you wish to share what is wrong with you, I suggest you stop talking.”
You knew of Daemon’s harsh nature, but not once had he tried to hurt you before. His words had left you feeling conflicted; he was being unnecessarily mean, but something must have happened for him to be lashing out so badly.
“Maybe I’ll visit Rhaenyra’s bedchambers as well, then me and the sworn protector can discuss who’s a better fuck.”
You slap him hard across the face and say, “Don't ever speak of my sister like that again!”
Daemon steps back; regret spreads across his features, but he says nothing. What if he was right? What if you were just a fool who couldn’t see what was going on? Not wanting to give him the satisfaction of seeing you cry, you storm out of your bedchamber, ignoring your husband as he calls after you.
The walk you had gone on intended to clear your head had done the exact opposite of calming you; it had completely shattered you. You had gone to her sister to seek her comfort and saw Harwin leaving her bedchamber, and you couldn’t think of a reason aside from them fucking for him to be there. You didn’t know what hurt worse—being betrayed by two people who meant the world to you or the fact that Daemon knew and let you become a laughing stock. If he had any respect for you, he would have told you as soon as he found out. An anger you’ve never felt before burns beneath your skin. All you wanted to do was lash out and set the world ablaze.
Soon as the door opens in front of you, you barge past the knight and enter his private room.
It was clear your knocking had startled him, which is why he was clutching his sword so tightly. Criston narrows his eyes and says, “You shouldn’t be in here.”
“No, I shouldn’t.” You pull him into a feverish kiss. He grips your shoulder with his free hand before coming to his senses and pushing you back.
“Get out.”
You lean against the wall, waiting to see how serious he is. If the knight tosses you from his room, then so be it; you would just find another way to get back at your sister and husband.
“I’m not going to tell you again,” he says sternly.
When you don’t move, Ser Criston steps into the hallway to see if anyone is watching. He comes back in and closes the door behind him. He tosses his sword to the side. “What is it you want, princess?”
It was no secret the knight hated most, if not all, of the Targaryens, as his loyalty was with the Greens, but he was still just a man, and you were sure he wouldn’t refuse your offer. “It appears my husband’s made a fool of me.”
“And you want me to help get back at him?”
“Yes,” you say, taking Criston’s hand in yours and placing it over your breast. When he gives it a tight squeeze, you lift your dress, then move his other hand up towards your already wet cunny, but when he doesn’t do anything, you plunge two fingers into your tight hole. “If you want me to stop, I will. Just tell me, and I will.”
He lets go of your breast and cups your face gently for a moment. “Oh princess.” His grip suddenly becomes tight. “You’ve no idea how long I’ve wanted to destroy your spoiled little cunt.” You withdraw your fingers as he quickly spins you around so your face is pressed up against the wall. “And that’s exactly what I intend to do.”
He spreads your thighs open with his knee and pulls your skirts up so your ass is almost on display. He rips your small cloth off and tosses it to the side. He pulls down his trousers enough so his cock springs free, then roughly pushes inside of you. He was much larger than you expected, and you whimper at the stretching sensation. Criston pounds into you without mercy until he spills his load inside you.
“You feel amazing,” he whispers in your ear before pulling out.
You use the fabric of the inside of your skirt to clean the seed off your sensitive cunny and the inside of your thighs. Feeling awkward, you say, “Thank you, Ser Criston; you’ve been most helpful.”
He grips your jaw. “Next time you wish to come here to act like a whore, I’ll not be so gentle with you.”
You’re surprised to see Daemon still awake when you enter your shared bedchambers. He still seems as flustered as before. You keep your head low and avoid his gaze, so he can’t see that you’ve been crying.
“Where the hell have you been?” He asks. “Do you have any idea how worried I’ve been? I’ve been looking for you all night.”
“Is that so?" you say. You walk to your side of the bed and begin to remove your clothing, which makes you feel nothing but disgust. You thought sleeping with Criston would have brought you some satisfaction, but it didn't; it only made you feel worse.
“When I couldn’t find you, I sent Ser Harwin along with some other knights out to look for you. They are searching for you at this very moment. I only came back on the off chance that you might return. I’ll need to send word to Rhaenyra, who had gone to Dragonpit looking for you; she will be relieved to know you are safe.”
You say, "She's the last person I want to see.”
“What?”
You toss the last article of your clothing to the side, pull the covers back of your bed, climb into it, and face the window so you don’t need to look at your husband, whose gaze you could feel on you. “When I left here, I went to see my sister and saw Harwin leaving her room.”
A few moments of silence pass, and then you feel the dip in the bed as Daemon gets in beside you. “I’m vaoreznuni. Harwin swore to me that there was no truth to it.”
“You asked him about it?”
He presses a kiss on your bare shoulder. “We may not have a conventional marriage, but you are my wife, my dragon, and I didn’t want you to get hurt. However, I shall feed him to Caraxes first thing in the morning.”
You chuckle at his words. He was saying it in a joking manner, but you knew Daemon would do that if you actually wanted him to. “I don’t think that’s necessary. Besides, it wouldn’t make a difference. Dead or not, I’d still be second best to him.”
You both remain silent as Daemon repositions himself so he’s curled up beside you, his bare skin pressing against your own, which causes tears of guilt to spill from your eyes.
“I did something I regret,” you whisper.
He places a kiss on the side of your head, “as did I. I took my anger at learning that the lady Laena was betrothed out on you, my beautiful, gentle-hearted wife.”
“Is that why you were so upset earlier?”
“She refused me when I insisted our affair didn’t need to end when she got married, but she said it does.”
Daemon craved acceptance from those he loved and most likely took your rejection as a sign you didn’t love him anymore, and with his ego already bruised, you could see what triggered his anger.
“Forgive me?”
“I will. Will you forgive me if I tell you what I did?”
“Dōna ābrazȳrys, I don’t wish to know what you did.”
His hand that was resting on your stomach moves to cup your breast. He pinches your nipple while kissing and sucking on the back of your neck, his hard cock pressing into your ass cheek.
“…Daemon…”
"Don't; I do not wish to know. I just want to feel close to you.”
His breath hitches slightly when you remove his hand from your breast, but Daemon smirks when you place his hand in your warm core. Immediately, he begins fingering you while using his thumb to rub at your clit.
You lick your palm before leaning your arm back to stroke his cock. You lean your head back to capture his lips with yours. After a few moments, Daemon slides inside you while maintaining his rubbing motions on your abused little pearl. It doesn’t take you long to reach your peak, with Daemon reaching his own shortly after you do.
Instead of pulling out of you, he holds you closely and kisses the side of your face. “I will never talk to you as I did tonight again, I promise.”
“I do love him, but I love you in a completely different way, Daemon. You’re never going to lose me; I will always remain by your side.”
I’m sorry - I’m vaoreznuni
Sweet wife - Dōna ābrazȳrys
Husband - Valzȳrys

Two days have passed since your little "talk" with Prince Daemon, and to your great relief he didn't try to talk to you, he didn't even glance in your direction.
But something in you told you that his silence was hiding something, especially after the threats he had thrown at you.
But you would deal with the problem in due time, for now you were grateful to have some time for yourself.
You were sitting under one of the trees in the garden, the sun coming through the branches gently settled on your skin, giving you a feeling of softness. You continued to read the book you had taken with you, and just for a moment you were fine, but something was missing, your protector. The king had asked for him, leaving you alone in the garden, and his absence weighed on you.
In this later years, Harwin had become more than your protector, he had wiped the tears from your face caused by Daemon more than once. When he wasn't with you, you kind of felt empty.
Alicent had tried to make you understand that what you felt for Ser Harwin was love but not being sure he felt the same, you had told your best friend the opposite.
Alicent had tried to make you understand that what you felt for Ser Harwin was love but not being sure he felt the same, you had told your best friend the opposite.
Daemon.
You stood up and bowed slightly to greet him.
"My prince."
You were about to leave when he grabbed your arm. "Stay with me, my lady."
You closed your eyes to keep calm. "my lady" how dare he call you like you were his.
"I do not think that-"
Daemon squeezed your arm tighter. "It's an order from your prince."
Even if you would have preferred to leave, he was right, he was still your prince, you had to obey him.
You sighed, “Fine.”
Daemon smirked, and began to walk, you did the same when he spoke.
"I didn't like your answer last time."
You rolled your eyes. "Maybe, but that's my one and only answer."
Daemon got in front of you to stop you.
"I know I hurt you, but I really, really need you Y/n."
He grabbed your face in his hands. Previously his touch would have excited you but now it's like his touch burned you, making you jerked away from his grip.
"Need me ? Why exactly, so you can fuck me and go away like nothing happened."
The prince was beginning to lose patience. "Y/n what more do you want ?"
You were losing patience too so you sighed and bowed slightly. "Prince Daemon thank you for this walk, have a great day."
As you were about to leave, he grabbed your arm and pinned you against a tree.
His grip hurt you, you winced and tried to get out of there. “Daemon stop.”
"I tried to be polite but you're making it impossible for me. I want you to be mine whether you like it or not, it's not a question it's a fucking order." He yelled at you.
You hoped that someone would come to your aid, but no one came, too afraid of Daemon and what he might do to them.
"I'll never be yours Daemon."
You kneed him in the balls made him step back, he growled and tried to grab you, but you had already taken the lead and you rushed running towards the castle, in your race you collided with something, or rather to someone.
“Lady Y/n.” You looked up and met Ser Harwin's gaze, you burst into tears and he hugged you. “I need you to tell me what happened.”
Your breathing quickened, he then took your hand and put it on his chest. "Fix your breath to mine Lady Y/n."
"Daemon, he has-"
You didn't need to finish your sentence, Harwin pushed you gently, and walked at full speed in the direction of Daemon who arrived just behind you. To say the knight was furious was an understatement.
"So this is why you don't you want me, because you're already fucking him?"
As he finished his sentence, Harwin's stitch smashed against the prince's jaw causing him to fall backwards, it was too late, Daemon had hurt you and the knight was out of control.
The royal guard had to separate the two men, Daemon the face in blood had a smirk because he knew that the knight was going to be banished from here for high treason, leaving you alone with him.
.
Harwin was again summoned by the king but this time he was in a bad position, you knew he was going to be banished or even worse, killed.
You rushed into Alicent's room, you found your friend sitting at her desk reading, when she saw you coming she rushed to you and hugged you.
"It's Daemon's fault, please Alicent, speak to the king."
Alicent slowly backed away and lowered her head. "It's too late Y/n, he will be executed tonight."
You cried even more. "No, no, please, there must be another way. I love him."
You said it, and hearing you say it out loud was a relief.
She took your face in her hands. "I'll talk to the king, I'll try to find another way, for you." You thanked her and burst into tears again in her arms.
.
Harwin's leg kept moving as he tried to release the tension. The king was standing in front of him, furious and screaming.
"How could you do such a thing Ser Harwin ! It's my brother, my blood, it's pure treason!"
Heads turned as Queen Alicent entered the throne room.
Viserys, still pissed off, barked at her. "Not now wife."
It was Alicent’s turn to raise her voice. "Forgive me my king but I must intervene. Ser Harwin is innocent."
The king frowned as Harwin remained silent, if Alicent had come to his defense then you must have asked, and just that thought warmed his heart. If he were to die for defending you then he would accept it without any opposition.
"Can you elaborate ?"
Alicent took a steady step towards her husband's throne. "Daemon is the only culprit your majesty. He assaulted Y/n."
Viserys frowned, startled by this new information. "What ?"
"He used the poor woman for his own pleasure, leaving her with a broken heart for years, and when she had the courage to say no to him he would not accept it and physically assaulted her. Ser Harwin only defended her."
A silence fell over the room as the king sat down, growling in frustration.
Daemon was well known for being violent but his brother didn't think he would hurt a woman, especially not his wife's closest friend, the queen.
The king thought of a solution to arrange all this, after minutes of silence he made a decision, and got up.
"Ser Harwin, I have your loyalty and your father's in mind, but I cannot let this act go unpunished. That is why I want you to leave in the night and never return. If he ever catches you want to come back, I would be forced to execute you."
Harwin swallowed his saliva, even if his decision did not please him, he was not going to contradict the king. He nodded and left.
Heels sounded behind him as he walked through the halls of the castle.
"Ser Harwin."
The knight stopped and turned to the queen, bowing his head in respect.
"My queen"
“I’m sorry I couldn’t have done more.” She apologized
Harwin frowned and shook his head. “My queen, you have done more than enough, I will be eternally grateful.”
She smiled sadly "What are you going to do about Y/n."
"I've caused her enough trouble, I think it's best that I leave without making problems."
Alicent blinked in shock.
"Aren't you going to leave without seeing her?"
Harwin lowered his head, ashamed. "I don't think she wants to see me."
The queen placed her hands on her hips. “Ser Harwin are you stupid ?”
"I-"
"Y/n is in love with you, she told me after begging me to help you."
The knight widened his eyes.
"I advise you to go and see her one last time." And with these words, the queen left.
.
The stress was becoming unbearable as you paced your room, waiting for any news from Harwin.
A knock sounded on your door, making you jump, but you quickly regained your senses and rushed to open it. Your relief was intense when you saw the face of the man you loved.
"Harwin-" He cut you off by throwing himself on you and devouring your lips with his. No one had ever kissed you with the same passion, you quickly kissed him back, letting your hands wander through his hair.
He pulled back for a moment and rested his forehead on yours. "I am banished from the kingdom, I must leave in the night."
You sighed "It's unfair. This is all because of me, I should be banned instead of you."
He took your face gently in his hands. "Don't say such a thing, it's in no way your fault, it's because of that bastard."
"Maybe, but if I hadn't been so weak, I wouldn't have fallen into his trap. I never should have let him into me like he did years ago."
He kissed you again to shut you up, then against your lips he whispered.
"I never want to hear you say you're weak again. He's the one who should be banished, he's a snake."
He was right, it was all Daemon's fault. You put your head on his chest, closing your eyes and listening to his heartbeat, when an idea came to you.
"Let's go."
He frowned with a small smile. "What ?"
"Take me with you, away from here. We'll go where you want, just you and me."
The knight lifted your chin with his index finger. "Are you sure ?"
You nodded and kissed him again before pulling back slightly. "But first, I would like to take revenge on Daemon. Do you want to be in it ?"
Harwin bit his bottom lip, smiling. "Absolutely."
.
You took Harwin by the hand and led him into the castle, unsure where you were taking him, he laughed looking around behind him.
"What are you doing ?"
You stopped in front of a door and opened it without bothering to knock, you dragged Harwin inside and pushed him to a bed where he fell backwards.
"Where are we ?" He asked you.
He grabbed your hips as you straddled him.
"In Daemon's secret chamber."
Harwin frowned. "A secret chamber?"
"It is here that he usually takes his conquests to fuck them."
He frowned and a wave of anger washed over him as he imagined that the prince had brought you here. But the anger was quickly replaced by excitement as you unbuttoned his pants, he realized what you had in mind and a mischievous smile appeared on his face.
"You are a little demon you know that ?"
You chuckled as you leaned in to kiss him. You grabbed his erect member and started jerking it off, immediately his hands started squeezing your hips and a bestial growl came out of his mouth. You slowly stood up and repositioned yourself so that your center was in contact with his erection, when you felt it you began to rub against it making you both moan in pleasure.
He grabbed the top of your dress and pulled it down over your stomach leaving your breasts exposed, the cold air made you shiver and harden your nipples Hardin grabbed hold of your breasts and played with them , pressing them in his hands and licking them.
Feeling you wet more and more, you begged him to take you, an order he accepted with pleasure, he turned you over so that you were under him.
In one gentle movement he entered you, making you arch your back and moan. He groaned as he saw his cock disappear inside you, it was like all the naughty dreams he had about you came true.
The more you moaned, the faster his movements became, each time taking you a little closer to your orgasm. He growled more and more in turn.
“Fuck Y/n I’m going to cum.”
You put your legs behind his back and took him deeper inside you. "Go ahead, I want you to fill me with your seed."
Your words encouraged him and he finished inside you, seeing that you still hadn't cum, he continued his movements but you stopped him.
“You don’t have to I-” He pushed some hair that had stuck to your forehead.
“Don’t tell me that when he finished with you, he didn’t make you cum.”
You looked away and Harwin groaned. “I want you to cum Y/n, you deserve it.”
You bit your lip. “Okay, but I want to do something first.” He pulled out of you and looked at you in surprise as you stood up to go... break a statue of Daemon's dragon on his desk, Harwin jumped when he heard the stone break, but he couldn't help but laugh.
With a gesture you threw everything that was on his desk, once the desk was empty, you turned to Harwin. "I want you to take me on this desk." You didn't have to tell him twice, in no time he got up, sat you on the desk, spread your thighs and in even less time he devoured you with his tongue.
You arched your back, hand in Harwin's hair, your vision becoming more and more blurry as your orgasm washed over you. Once the adrelanine went down, Harwin got up and kissed you again.
"What the fuck?" A voice sounded in the room, you turned and saw a very angry Daemon.
Harwin laughed and zipped up his pants, he pulled up your dress on your shoulder and helped you off the desk.
Harwin grabbed your hand and stopped in front of Daemon. "My prince, you are cordially invited to our wedding, let us know your answer as soon as possible."
The prince was smoking, he was giving you both a murderous look. This made you laugh harder and you left hand in hand.
Once away from Daemon, Harwin stopped you and put his hands on your hips. "Are you sure you want to go with me ? I don't want you to regret."
You kissed him to reassure him. "I only want you Harwin, I could never regret it. But before leaving I must say goodbye to Alicent."
He nodded and kissed your forehead. "I'll wait for you in your room."
.
Once outside Alicent's room, the reality of your choice hit you, you were going to have to leave your best friend here. As if she suspected your presence, she opened the door.
She ushered you in and a painful silence settled. "Alicent I-"
"You will flee with Ser Harwin." She cut you off smiling.
You nodded, swallowing your saliva. "I'm sorry."
She shook her head and took your face in her hands. "Don't apologize, do what you want. I wasn't given this privilege so please take this chance."
"But you will be alone."
She shrugged her shoulders "It doesn't matter, it's about your life. And when Aegon is king, you can come back and live here." You smiled at her and she did the same. "You deserve to be happy, away from here Y/n"
She hugged you one last time. "You should get going. I wish you the best Y/n."
"Me too."
With one last tear-filled smile, you walked away and went to join Harwin in your room, you found him sitting on your bed, patiently waiting for your return. When you returned to the room, he hugged you and kissed you again.
"Are you ready ?" He tells you.
“I am.”
It was with a heart filled with joy and a little sadness that you set off on horseback with Harwin, you had no idea where you were going, but you were certain of one thing, no matter the place, so much so. that he will be with you, you will be happy and safe.

Her hands gripped the fine curls of his head. She withered under his weight moments before his mouth was on her body, diving between her legs with such force she nearly saw stars.
It was magical - his tongue. Fierce yet gentle, he worked her sensitive cunt under the sheets of their small bed. He licked her clit with broad strokes, then tighter circles, driving her wild.
She whined, “Harwin please.”
His mouth continued to suck and lick, inching her closer to the inevitable height of her orgasm. She begged for release, for an end to the constant pleasure, tightening her legs around his head.
Harwin chuckled as he lifted just enough to speak but still be close to her core. “My princess,” he whispered as his thick finger slipped inside her. “I need you to cum.”
“Please.” Her hand snuck up to her breast, squeezing at the sensitive skin.
There was nothing this man couldn’t make her feel. Love. Lust. Happy. But tonight he was teasing her.
The slick sounds of his wife’s pleasuring was something dirty and only for their ears. He loved when she could barely contain herself, bucking under his touch. Begging for him.
Harwin’s lips returned to her throbbing cunt. He sucked as his fingers continued their rhythmic pattern in and out.
She whimpered, clamping her mouth shut out of fear she was getting too rowdy. “Fuck, fuck, fuck me—”
“Mm, I would, but then we might make another baby.” His head peered out from under the grey sheets. The curly brown hair she loved fell just below his chin.
With shallow breaths, she groaned as his lips trailed up to her neck. His hands still firm between her legs.
“Give me another child then. I need you. I’m empty without you.”
Harwin was no small man. He was big in all sense of the word. From his size and strength, to more private areas. Saying such things would earn her a toe-curling fuck and a babe come next summer.
She mewled as his bare cock pinned against her stomach. Erect and begging for entry, Harwin laid against his wife. He groaned at the mere graze of his cock against her supple skin.
“Say it again, princess.”
She swallowed. Aching for him. He adjusted her legs as he slid his hefty body between them.
“Again.” His tip brushed her wetness.
A pleading moan left her lips as she tried to form the words. Her mind was in sensation overload every time he touched her.
“Say it again, my love.”
“I need you. P-please—”
The handle of their bedroom door jiggled.
“Mommy? Is daddy home?” Small footsteps pad the floor outside their bedroom door.
“Uh,” She exhaled. “Y-yes, darling.”
The space was small for the family of four, but it was usually enough space. Just not enough when the parents wished for some private time.
Harwin shifted away from her body and covered himself. His pants were nearby. A light tunic tossed towards her just as Harwin exited the bed.
She admired his form in all its naked glory. Gods how she wished her children slept tonight.
“I’m home,” he shot his wife an apologetic glance.
Later, she mouthed. But there would be no later.
Once the eldest son Aeric stepped through the doorway with sleepy eyes and bedhead, so did the little girl. All with dark brown hair and matching eyes to their father.
“Why are you sweaty?” Cienna, their daughter of two, mumbled. Her stuffed toy dangled from her arms as she tried to climb the two person bed.
Harwin already slipped into his thin trousers and was completely reddened by the children hearing them.
“Why doesn’t daddy get us all some water? Then we can snuggle in bed, hm?”
“Yes!” Cienna cheers as she rests her head against her mother’s chest.
“We missed our father,” Aeric jumped onto the bed. He was tall for a six year old, but from the stories Harwin told her, so was his father at his age.
“I missed him too.” She snuggled her children close, so exhausted and wired from the evening.
She missed her husband every day he was not home. Each time he left the house was another day she’d hope he’d be back by sunset. His job required him to survey and protect the realm. And he did a great job, but it was great to have him home before the sun rose.
Cienna yawned, tucking the stuffed toy under her chin. “G’night, mommy.”
When Harwin returned, four glasses huddled in his large hands, his wife was asleep.
Gorgeous as always, he hummed.
Then on each side of her were the children. Nestled up to their mother for warmth and comfort, he smiled at the sweetest sight he’d seen all week.
The glasses weighed in his hands. The look of sheer predictability washed over his features. He figured they’d all be fast asleep. The smile that came after was pure joy.
“More for me then,” he smirked as he sipped one of the glasses.
Before long, he joined his family for only a moment before Cienna kicked him in her sleep.
He’d sleep on the ground tonight, it seems.

fuck, rich people. fucks rich people. - h. strong and d. targaryen
Description: You visit the beach and find two men that you can't resist. In which, you end up fucking both men on the countertops. (modern au) Rating: Mature 18+ (double penetration, oral [m. recieving], threesome.)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fuck, rich people. They always seemed to have a problem of their own - most of the times they're the ones who make the problem - which led to you being stressed about work.
The beach was your favorite place - hearing the sound of the waves crashing on the shore did miracles on your mental state. It was calming, and refreshing. It was a good thing that your parents bought this beach-house, as you were the only one enjoying this scenery.
You lean into the chair - breathing in the scent of salt in the wind. This was where you were meant to be. You take a lazy sip of the diet coke in your hands - perhaps you’d go on a swim a little later.
Someone moves from behind you, easing the thoughts off your head. You turn your head to look at the person - and it was Daemon, your childhood friend, and Prince of Dragonstone. “I didn’t think that you’d be here,” he chuckles, holding the foldable chair near his hips.
“I don’t think I’m ever not here,” your lips settle into a thin line.
You haven’t seen each other in ten-years, and by the gods was he hot. Handsome to the point that you’d expect him on the cover of Calvin Klein. He had that smile - that made you think that he just finished having sex. His hair is all over the place - but at the same time, it falls perfectly into place.
“How’s work?” he asked, folding the chair so he’d be sitting beside you. “Shit, as usual.” you answer - a chuckle escapes his mouth. “How about you? Still bothering the King?” you tease, remembering his bad-boy streak during university. He hasn’t changed - but he’s done a great job hiding his dirty laundry.
“Oh come on, Viserys loves me.” he defended himself, staring at you with lust. He was a fucking predator - a beast in heat when he’s around you.
“Only because he has to,” you sip on the straw, placing your phone on your lap - open for a conversation.
Just a conversation for now.
He pretends to search for something in his pockets, taking off his sunglasses to see better. “Shit, I totally forgot to bring any drinks - do you mind sharing?” he inquired and you nod.
Where was this going?
He scoots closer, bridging the wall between you. His hands reach for the can on your hand - taking his sweet moment once his hand settles on top of yours. You couldn’t remove your hands - some special force was preventing it.
He brings the can to his lips - coating the rim with his sweet saliva.
“Thank you,” he whispers, he removes his hand away from yours - to your surprise he wasn’t returning back to his chair. His hands were now reaching to cup your cheeks. He gives you a small kiss, letting go of you with a smile.
“I’ll see you sometime.” he whispers, standing up and retrieving his chair.
Tumblr media
Working as a lawyer sucked - especially when your firm is one of the highest rated offices in New York City. You had to get out - somehow. You were on the beach the next day, but Daemon wasn’t there. His roommate, Harwin, was though - but you were unaware of this relationship.
“It’s nice here,” Harwin smiled, writing his name on the sand. He was a jolly person to be around - he seemed to uplift other people’s mood without realizing it. “I agree,” you breathe with a chuckle - now sipping on a glass of coffee.
You lend your hand - waiting for a handshake. “I’m (Your Name), I live in that house.” you point at the four-bedroom bungalow. He smiles at you - joy reaching his eyes. “I’m Harwin. Harwin Strong,” he shakes your hand, quickly inspecting your face. “I live in that house - I have a roommate.” he points at Daemon’s house and you nod.
He didn’t seem like the type of guy who gets a roommate. “It’s nice meeting you,” you smiled in return.
Tumblr media
The devil possessed you - he lured you in with his kind smile, and now you were about to suck his cock inside a house that you weren't allowed to be in. Gods, the news outlets were going to fuck your reputation. "She's pretty huh?" Daemon tilted his head sideways, acting like you weren't in the room with them.
Harwin responded with an amused chuckle, watching you with your hands on his knees. He opened his legs wider, giving you a clearer view of his hard cock dripping with pre-cum. He cupped your cheeks gently, staring deep into your lust-filled eyes. The tabloids would have to wait - this cock in front of you was fucking delicious. You leaned down slowly, pressing a gentle kiss on his thighs.
"Good girl turning us on," Daemon growls playing with your hair - he's loved you since he was eighteen. All of his fucking teenage fantasies replayed back to this moment - his goddess on her knees like a slave.
Your tongue swirled around, pumping the mass inside your mouth. He closed his eyes and sighed. He could hardly speak with the heaven that he was feeling. You swirled your tongue around - making sure to reach every nerve ending on his penis. He moans your name, forgetting himself in the middle of bliss.
Daemon watches the both of you - turning himself on with the sight.
"Keep going," Harwin pleaded, wrapping his arms around your hair and pumping you on his length. His dick tasted salty and metallic - a faint reminder that he was human and that he tasted like a human. You gag around his length, taking your sweet time in adjusting.
You swirl your tongue again, smiling in content as his eyes flutter. Harwin was a good little boy. You licked the stripe of his length, sucking on his dick like a lollipop - fondling with your clothed pussy. They both turned you on.
You swirl your tongue.
Again.
Again and again, until his breathing heaved and tightened.
You could feel Daemon's hand on your head, bobbing you up and down the length of his roommates' dick. It only took a few moments until Harwin was spasming around your mouth.
"Open," Daemon commanded and you obeyed him - opening your mouth slightly to reveal the milky goodness underneath your tongue. He bites his lips, forcing his finger inside your mouth and splattering the cum inside. He removes his hand, wiping it on your face.
"Swallow, baby." Harwin ordered - and you found yourself obeying everything that they say.
You rise from your kneeling position.
Daemon welcomes you on top of his lap. You could feel his bulge press against you. He stares at Harwin who was still trying to regain his stance from his orgasm. "You good?" he inquires, wrapping his hands around your ass. Bouncy and firm like he likes them.
"Yeah," Harwin replies removing his shirt. "Get around her," Daemon motions, freeing his cock from his pants with ease. "You ever had two men at once," he teased, and you shake your head. "Prepare to be mind-blown," Harwin giggles, pressing his cock on your anus.
You lean slowly against Daemon's chest, providing Harwin with more angle - and Daemon lesser weight. You let out a small whimper, feeling Daemon enter your pussy. He groans feeling your tightness clamp against him.
"Dae," you moan - bouncing against him.
His tip was barely missing your womb, trailing along your cervix - making your eyes roll back.
Thank god for birth control.
He keeps pressing his cock inside - leaving you a moaning mess. He filled you with so much pressure that your cunny couldn't bare another second. You cum - squirting around his cock and leaving a white residue on his thighs.
You were about to collapse into him, but the familiar pressure began building once you feel Harwin behind you.
"Time for me, baby." he hums.

Could you write that trope where a sick character confesses but is sick so asks the person who they confessed to not to say anything? I'm sorry if this is confusing. Oh yeah and could it be with Harwin from HOTD?
I got what you mean, I always face-palm when that happens but that's only cause I like the trope.
Pairing: Harwin Strong x Fem!Reader
Tags: fluff, accidental confession, being sick, fever, hand kisses, flustered Reader
A/N: This trope was EVERYWHERE in shojo anime before.
Tumblr media
Rare for someone like Harwin to get sick. Injured yes, quite often, so often that he got scolded for it. But Harwin being Harwin he never let an injury get in his way, or his sickness for that matter. He pushed himself to his limits until he collapsed from his body being unable keep up with him.
Given that he was so stubborn and listened to a few people, one of which was you, who took care of a lot of his injuries before, you took many shifts to take care of him.
Before you'd get flustered and hot when he took his shirt off but now it had no effect on your mind. There were more important things to worry about, "Your fever seems to be a bit lower then yesterday. That doesn't mean you have a free pass to walk around yet." Harwin nodded, his eyes distant as they stared forward. "Harwin, are you listening?"
"Of course. I always listen to you." His warm hand eclipsed yours, which was still wet from the water you used to wash his back and shoulders. "You're always here for me. I am deeply grateful to have you by side."
Sure he was, he always told you so, and never asked for anything in return. It was one of the things you admired about him. He never abused his position of power.
"Have I ever told you how much I value your hard work? Because I do! You should... take some time off and we can go somewhere with me. To a lake perhaps? We could swim." He smiled with all the warmth he had in him, his body slowly lowering back on the bed. "And I could tell you how special you are to me. And that I like you."
"Like... me?" Harwin didn't see you almost drop the bucket of water, he was already turning on his stomach and hugging his pillow.
"Oh. Don't tell. It needs to be a secret until we go on our vacation." He mumbled, exhausted from the fever. Maybe he wasn't being serious. After all you've helped a lot of people, sick and injured and they tended to say a lot of things weather from the illness, pain or their medication.
Still you wanted to reassure him, "Your secret is safe with me, Harwin." Deep down you hoped his words were true. Time would tell if he repeated them.

Loving Hands
Tumblr media
The youngest daughter of King Viserys falls seriously ill. Perhaps the loving hand of the Commander can do so much to help.
genre: a bit of angst, mostly fluff. mention of minor character death.
a/n: this was inspired by my mum who took care of me recently. I was very ill with a migraine, cramps and an uneasy stomach and she stayed by my side through it all. Made me think how ser harwin would take care of his lover! Enjoy!
word count: 4K
A violent cough escaped your lips before you could bring up your handkerchief to your mouth, it felt as if your chest was rattling shaking your whole entire body from the inside.
What once started out as a small cough and a simple cold had turned into something dreadfully worse but being as stubborn as you were, you never wanted to admit it.
However, you began to feel weaker as the days drew on, your body sore as if you had gone horse riding for days on end, skin cold even as the sun beat down upon you.
‘Are you well my lady?’
The gentle, but deep rumbling voice of your personal guard, Ser Harwin Strong, caught your attention as your cough finally eased. You waved him away with a small smile.
‘I’m fine, Commander. Just a little cough is all, it will pass,’ You barely gasped out, trying to keep your voice as steady as possible.
He came to your side, a shiver running down your spine as his eyes roamed your face. ‘I’ve heard and seen much sickness princess. If I may speak plainly, that does not sound like a normal cough.’
You scoffed but with a chuckle.
Taking a brief look around for any stragglers that wondered the gardens, you clasped the Commander’s gloved hand into yours, squeezing it as you gave him your best smile.
‘I’m perfectly alright Harwin, I promise.’
In the past few months, you and the heir to Harrenhal had become incredibly close. From childhood friends to something you couldn’t really put your finger on.
His embrace was where you felt safest in the privacy of his chambers, his hands holding you as if you were made of glass, your own mapping out the scars that decorated his skin, memories left behind of the battles he had fought.
Your titles would be forgotten and conversation would flow freely. Sometimes a kiss or two was shared but nothing more. And yet, you knew it was most definitely more than friends.
He sighed heavily before smiling down you, letting his knuckles caress your cheek, ‘I only worry for you princess. That is all.’
‘But, I think I may call for the Maester once I have a nap. I’m feeling rather tired suddenly.’
‘As you wish my lady.’
His arm was out for you before you could ready yourself to stand up, gripping his forearm as you stood to your feet, his hand settling briefly on the small of your back to make sure you were steady before letting you go ahead.
But as you made your way back towards the Red Keep, you knew something was amiss. You felt light, your sight fogged as if tears glazed your eyes. You let your head fall back and looked up through your lashes, the sky a smear of blues and clouds like a child’s painting.
And then your world began to spin.
‘H-Harwin?’
You were unconscious before your legs gave way, too far gone to feel a pair of arms wrap around you as you crumpled to the ground.
Tumblr media
Even in his condition, Viserys was fast as he limped down the corridor, Rhaenyra running ahead as the guards hurried to catch up to them.
They burst through the doors of your room, coming upon the sight of the maids bustling around the bed, a Maester standing over you as you lay in bed.
‘Y/N?!’
Rhaenyra rushed to your side, ignoring the cries of the maids and Maester to stay away as she sat close to your side. The breath left her as she took in the sight of you.
Your skin had paled from its beautiful glow to a dull grey, sweat glistening across your skin. The soft wheeze that left your lips every so often caught her attention, watching the low rise and fall of your chest. Even your hair had darkened from a beautiful white to ash.
She gripped your hand in hers, pressing a kiss to it as Viserys hobbled to your bedside, a cloth held up to his mouth. ‘What is the matter with my daughter? I want an answer now!’
‘The Princess is down with influenza my King.’ The Maester was brave enough to speak up, coming to his side. Viserys looked at him in horror.
‘How did this happen? She was perfectly healthy this morning at breakfast!’
The old man sighed. ‘Unfortunately, it is a wicked sickness that can turn fatal very quickly if not treated properly.’
‘Is there anything we can do for her now?’ Rhaenrya, who had been quietly listening to the Maester, asked, unable to tear her eyes away from her sister.
‘I have given her the necessary medicines needed to treat such a sickness your Highness. For now we watch and pray that she makes it through the night, only then will we be able to tell how severe this really is.’
She nodded before Viserys looked around the room. ‘Who found Y/N? She was in the gardens this morning when I last saw her.’
‘She was your Majesty. The Commander was the one who was with her. He who brought her here and took care of her before I arrived.’
It was only then that the King and Rhaenyra finally caught sight of the man in the corner of the room, stock still as a statue, his eyes trained on the young woman now lying in bed barely moving.
For how big he was, Harwin had moved like lighting through the Red Keep after you had collapsed, carrying your limp body in his arms and ignoring those who whispered and gasped.
Had barked orders at the maids who had been moving about your room, ordering for the Maester and for the King and Princess be notified of your current state.
He had immediately moved you to the bed, and with caution to thrown to the wind, removed the thick layers of your dress to leave you in your shift. Only when the Maester arrived had he backed off, fading into the corner of the room to observe.
The King gave a nod to the Commander, words failing him as he looked to his youngest daughter once more. Pressing the cloth firmly over his mouth, he leant down, pressing his forehead against yours.
‘Oh my darling girl, my sweet little one …’
Tears immediately filled Rhaenyra’s eyes as a mere whimper left your lips, gripping her father’s hand where it rested over yours.
After their mother had passed, the two sisters made it their duty to remain close with their father, making the most of every day as his own sickness worsened.
Losing mother was the greatest heartbreak, Rhaenyra knew if her father lost you too, it would surely be the death of him, and her too.
The Maester shepherded everyone out of the room, looking towards the Commander who remained. He placed a hand on his shoulder, ‘Come now Ser Harwin. All we can do for now is let her rest and pray she makes it through the night.’
With a small push to his back, Harwin was led out of the room, his eyes remaining on you surrounded by your family, even as the door shut.
Tumblr media
The light had long faded from the skies as Harwin found himself pacing his room. It had been a few days since you had fainted in his arms, and still no word came with any improvements.
He tried to distract himself; tried training, reading a book, visiting the garrison.
Yet all he could think of was you, laying in your bed and barely breathing.
It brought memories of his own mother to mind, how as a young boy had stood in the doorway of his parents room.
He had watched as his father tearfully whispered sweet words of goodbyes to his mother who lay cradled in his arms, her breath rattling and then fading into silence.
Harwin couldn’t bare to watch another woman he loved so dearly perish the same way.
First he visited the kitchens brightly lit by the torches alight, the fire dancing across the walls. The cooks and kitchen maids giving him a smile before returning to their duties.
The head cook, Mrs Crooke, who had been in the midst of mixing a bowl of some sort of sauce, cheered at the sight of him, ambandoning her tools to embrace him heartily.
‘My dear laddy look at you! Commander of the City Watch visiting little old me.’ She cried, cupping his cheek with a large grin.
Harwin smiled, placing his hand over the woman’s. ‘Its good to see you again Mrs Crooke but I must ask you a favour. The Princess Y/N is incapacitated at the moment.’
Her hand fell to her heart, nodding, ‘Aye, we’ve heard she’s been taken ill the poor Lass.’
‘Well, that’s exactly why I’ve come to you.’
She raised her eyebrow in question and he continued, ‘I was wondering perhaps your broth would be able to help. I know she wouldn’t be able to eat anything heavy she wouldn’t be able to keep it down, so something light may at least keep her well for the time being.’
The old woman couldn’t help but smile, taking in the mistiness of the Commander’s eyes and worry written in his expression. She took his hand in hers. ‘You care for her don’t you lad?’
Harwin wanted to deny it.
If anyone found out it would be seen as incredibly out of line, even treasonous. He didn’t care what happened to him, he just didn’t want to see Y/N hurt or unhappy. And yet, in that moment, he couldn’t help but nod.
Mrs Crooke nodded, immediately turning to the other kitchen maids with a clap of her hands.
‘Take over here ladies, a special order is needed for the Princess Y/N!’
Tumblr media
Harwin made his way to Y/N’s chambers, armour now removed, carefully holding a marble bowl of cold water, a cloth thrown over his arm. The guard that stood at your chambers briefly looked at him, Harwin recognising him as one of his own men, he nodded to him.
‘I’m here to attend to the Princess.’
For a moment the guard hesitated, and fear brewed within the Commander’s belly.
He trusted his men, however he knew that no matter how loyal a man could be to his duty, a price could always overturn it. There were spies and traitors working for the corrupt within Kings Landing, they easily could spin this mere event into something far worse.
However, the fear ebbed away as soon as the guard nodded to him, opening the door for him.
Harwin quickly made his way over to the bedside, placing the bowl down. His glanced nervously over to you.
Sweat drenched your shift, hair matted against your face. The rasp in your lungs had worsened, and it made his heart clench as you gasped for air, groaning deliriously.
‘Oh my love,’ He whispered, pushing your hair away from your face, pressing his palm to your cheek. Your eyes briefly flickered towards him, sighing before falling quiet once more.
Harwin couldn’t help but press his lips to your temple in comfort, heart clenching at the warmth that prickled beneath his lips.
Quickly he picked up the cloth he had brought, folding it before dipping it into the water, letting it soak for a moment before bringing it to your skin. A whimper left your lips but he pressed on, wiping away any trace of sweat that he could see.
Leave the cloth to rest on your head, he reached into the pouch on his belt pulling out a small vial of oil. Pouring a generous amount into the centre of his palm, rubbing his hands together, eyes never leaving your face as you rested.
Harwin leant over you letting his hands rest against your neck, unable to hold back his smile as you keened beneath his touch. He began to massage around your jaw, your neck and just above your collarbones.
His hands wondered down your arms to your hands, taking one in his grasp and letting his thumb follow the lines that were etched into your palm before taking the other and doing the same.
‘Ser Harwin!’ He turned to find one of the young maids at the door, ‘i’m sorry I didn’t think anyone would be here Commander! I just came to check in on the Princess.’
He gave her a nod in greeting, standing to his feet.
‘At ease Maisley, it’s okay. I’m seeing to that the Princess is well looked after. Her fever has gone down considerably since I arrived. I would suggest helping her change into a new shift, she may grow uncomfortable when she awakens.’
She nodded, hurrying around the room. Even when she brought over the partition to obscure the bed from sight, Harwin turned his back to it, not wanting to make either of the ladies uncomfortable.
When a cough disrupted the silence, he looked up at the sight of one of the kitchen hands carrying a tray in the doorway.
‘The broth you requested Commander,’ The young boy announced, nodding to the black pot that sat beside the bowl of steaming broth, ‘Mrs Crooke also thought it best to also give some mint ginger tea, said it would help get her back to health in no time.’
‘Thank you, and give my thanks to Mrs Crooke once more. Let her know I will visit as soon as the moment arises,’ He said as he took it with a smile, the boy bowed to him before making his way out of the room.
Harwin placed the tray down on the bedside table once Maisley began to move the partition away to reveal you adorning a new shift, replacing the old one which she held in her grasp. She turned to the Commander.
‘Will that be all Ser Harwin? Anything else you may need?’
He smiled towards her. ‘Not at the moment thank you Maisley, go get some rest.’
The young maid bowed to him before also taking her leave, shutting the door firmly behind her.
‘Harwin?’
Whipping around, he found you staring up at him sluggishly, eyes barely open, a hand reaching out to him.
‘I’m here my love, I’m right here,’ He caressed your cheek, eyes softening as you even in your sickened state, leant into his touch.
You smiled up at him, but it faded as you took in your shift, the heaviness of your chest evident, glancing around to recognise your own chambers.
‘What happened? I-I remember us in the gardens and—’
‘It’s okay Y/N, you're safe.’ He hushed you, turning your face towards his, keeping his hand on your neck to keep you steady. ‘You were ill and fainted, I brought you to your room and the Maester took a look at you.’
Slowly the panic eased from your body, leaning back into the warmth of your bed, watching as Harwin picked up the steaming bowl from your bedside table.
‘You must eat, you need to keep your strength up.’
‘I’m not hungry Harwin, I’m just so sleepy …’
‘How about you eat just a little, then you can get some more rest? For my sake?’
You chuckled quietly at his child-like request, carefully trying to sit up. Harwin was quick to assist, a brief squeak leaving you as his arm wrapped around your waist, pulling you up to lean against the headboard and adjusting the pillow to accomodate you.
When you reached for the spoon, he was quick to pull away with a shake of his head and wearing a smirk, bringing the warm spoon to your lips.
‘I may be sick, Harwin, but I am not lame,’ You croaked only for your words to splutter as you coughed roughly, feeling his hand rub soothingly across your back.
When the coughing lessened, and your wheezing quietened, Harwin gently said as he brushed your hair back, ‘That may be so, but let me take care of you my love.’
Too tired to resist, you allowed him to feed a few spoons of broth. Even with your mouth feeling dry and tastebuds dulled, you enjoyed the rich chicken, rosemary and thyme that broke through; munching quietly on some of the carrots, potatoes and onion as he watched attentively.
Soon enough the bowl was empty, and Harwin was setting it aside before easing you back against the bed, your eyes now drooping sleepily. As he pulled back, your hand shot to his, gripping his fingertips weakly.
‘Please don’t go Harwin …’ You gasped, ‘I-I don’t want to be alone.’
Harwin’s heart broke, bending so he was looking into your eyes. ‘I’ll be only a moment darling, I just want to stoke the fire.’
‘Hmm, it is cold ...’ You whimpered. Harwin’s brow furrowed quickly placing the back of his hands against your forehead only to curse. Your fever had returned, and worse it seemed.
Quickly, he rushed around the room. Tossing a few new logs and kindling into the grand fireplace, he stoked at the flames until it was roaring and heat swarmed the room.
Returning to kneel at your side, he grabbed the soaking cloth once more, gently dabbing it across your face. A trembling cry left your lips, a tear slipping down your cheek.
‘Please don’t leave me ...’
‘I’ll be here beloved,’ He whispered shakily against your cheek where he laid a soft kiss, running his fingertips through your hair. ‘I’m not going anywhere.’
Leaning his forehead against yours, he silently prayed, asking the seven—or whatever force was present—to stay their hand and leave you be. He wouldn’t allow them to take you so easily.

The next morning after yet another restless night of anxious thoughts, Rhaenyra accompanied her father towards her sisters room like she had for the last few days.
When she had tried to get closer to aid Y/N where she could, the Maesters and maids held her back, not wanting the heir to the throne to avoid potentially catching the sickness.
It had angered her that she could not help her sister, instead ordering those who were present to do all they could for her. She could only hope that her sister had made improvement.
When the door to your chambers opened, a gasp left Rhaenyra’s lips, but this time out of shocked delight.
You were now sitting up in bed with your hair tied back sipping at what she presumed to be tea, revealing the colour that had returned to your cheeks, wearing a smile at the sight of your father and sister.
Just like days previous, Rhaenyra ran to her sister ignoring the cries of the maids and Maesters, jumping across the bed to pull you into a fierce, tight hug. You couldn’t help but chuckle, leaning your cheek against her head.
‘Sister you are fool to let yourself get ill so easily!’ Your sister cried, shaking you as if to bring clarity to your mind.
Smiling, you pulled away to look at her, only to sigh at the tears evident in her eyes. You pressed your hands to her cheeks. ‘I am sorry I worried you Nyra. You know how stubborn I can get in my own ways.’
Rhaenyra couldn’t help but shake with quiet laughter before pressing her lips to your forehead, letting your head rest on her shoulder.
At the sound of a familiar cane striking against stone, you looked up to see your father at your side, tears streaming down his face.
‘Oh father!’
Pulling away once more from your sister, you embraced your father, tears of your own springing to your eyes as his hand came up to run through your hair, also pressing a kiss to your forehead.
‘My dear sweet girl,’ He whispered to you, ‘thank the gods that you are okay!’
‘There is someone you should thank though father.’
When your father pulled away in confusion, you nodded with a smile towards the man that once more stood in the far corner,  hands clasped in front of him as he observed the room.
‘The Commander nursed me back to health. Had broth made and brought to me, eased my fever, and watched over me during the night.’
Harwin gave a nod to you, deep shadows sat beneath his eyes, tiredness straining at his limbs, but he would do it all over again just to see the way you smiled at him.
‘Ser Harwin,’ Viserys limps towards the Commander, leaning heavily on his cane as his hand came down on the man’s shoulder, ‘Thank you my boy. I will forever be in your debt for taking such care of my daughter.’
Harwin smiled briefly, bowing to the King. ‘Not at all your majesty, I only do what is best to keep the Princess safe as it is my duty. I’ve dealt with a lot of sickness in my life, I did not want to see her go through the same suffering that I’ve seen others go through. I must say, the Princess has an enduring spirit, she fought hard.’
You ducked your head with a shy smile, feeling a sudden nudge to look up at Rhaenyra who raised her eyebrow with a small smirk and you couldn’t help but giggle, hiding your face against her shoulder.
It was a day later you found yourself fully recovered, out of bed and dressed in a stunning blue dress, you left the confines of your room.
After some business had been attended to, you rushed out of your father’s room with excitement. Harwin stood in the corridor, his head turning towards you as you rushed towards him.
‘Ser Harwin, it is good to see you on such a beautiful day.’
‘Princess,’ He bowed his head in greeting to you with a smile, ‘I’m happy to see you doing so well.’
Quickly looking around, you took his hand, pulling him along with you. At first he was hesitant, looking around once more before following you into a small alcove, dimly lit by the sunshine that fell through from the corridor.
You turned to him, nervously picking at your nails as you glance up at him. ‘I wanted to thank you for taking care of me Harwin.’
‘Princess—‘ At your raised eyebrow, he corrected himself, ‘Y/N you do not need to thank me.’
‘But I do, because I know you didn’t need to take care of me the way you did. I need to know ... why you did it.’
For a moment he stared at you silently before sighing. Stepping forward slowly he removed his gloves tucking them into his belt, taking your hand into his.
‘Seeing you in that bed brought back memories I never want to see again. My mother s-she,’ He closed his eyes briefly before looking down at you, ‘She died of influenza. I watched her leave us in the arms of my father, the one woman able to ease his heart gone in a matter of days. And I couldn’t let you go.’
You felt his thumb trace the lines of your palm, but your eyes did not stray from his, your hand immediately reaching for his cheek to wipe away the tears that fell.
Leaning into your touch, he tipped your chin up as he brought his forehead to yours. ‘I couldn’t lose the woman I love to that, not again. You are the one thing that gives me meaning and purpose. Upon my vow, I will do everything in my power to ensure you are safe and loved.’
A small gasp left your lips after hearing his words, his breath batting against your skin. Without hesitating, you pressed a gentle kiss to his lips, your hand still resting against his cheek.
Sighing against your lips, Harwin’s hand fell from your chin to rest against your waist pulling you even closer. When you parted, his nuzzled his nose against yours affectionately making you laugh.
‘Oh how I missed that sound.’
You smiled sweetly up at him, pushing away the wild curls that obscured his beautiful eyes from your sight.
‘I went to see my father today, told him of my desire to marry you,’ You whispered against his lips, smiling as he pulled away in shock, ‘I must warn you, Rhaenyra also has put in a good word for you to him. She believes you’ve already proved yourself enough.’
Harwin felt as if he was in a dream, the blood thumping in his veins fuelled by the happiness that wrapped around his heart.
‘Have I ever told you how I love you?’
You laughed, gripping his hand between you. ‘You showed with your actions, they spoke so loudly and showed me how incredible of a man you are. One that I would like to have as my husband.’
Harwin smiled widely, letting his head fall to your neck. You couldn’t help but giggle as his nose brushed your skin, lips pressing against below your collarbone where he felt the pulse of your heartbeat.
A loud squeal left your lips as his arms wrapped around your waist and lifted you off your feet, spinning you around laughing heartily.
As history came to pass, people would know how Harwin Strong’s greatest honour was the love he held for his wife, Princess Y/N Targaryen and their children. And from that day onward, as he had vowed, Harwin protected, loved and ensured your happiness for the rest of your days.

“Ser—” the princess’ gasp is barely above that of a whisper, but in the desolate halls the sound echoes off the stone like a melody wrapped in silk, that lands at the heart of his desire and the head of his cock. “Harwin.”
“Do you wish me to stop, princess?”
Gods he prayed not, as his eyes looked down at you. The heavy heave of your chest—of the bare breast he just had in his mouth, tongue swirling, lips wrapped around your nipple.
A brief taste; longing looks from across crowded gatherings and fields, conversations that held more tension than a cast iron, that wicked smile that could bring forth the strongest of men to drop down in front of you—is all it took for a festering wound of affliction to blister deep in Ser Harwin Strong’s bravado.
If you were to push him away, to put an end to this, he’d go without trife. Happily give his princess what she wanted. You were not something to be conquered. To persuade. To overcome. You had become more to the Commander of the City Watch than he should have allowed on good conscience.
The magnetism that drew the two of you together finally coming to a head. Finally letting him press your back to the stone wall and seize his mouth to yours, his palms on your cheeks gentle when he felt the frenzy within his veins to swallow you whole.
To finally show you why he had dark circles rounding his eyes, sleep only finding him when your face was behind his eyelids—waking him in the late hours of the night in a hot sweat and a throbbing cock.
You held the reins of more than just dragons. Over Kings Landing. Over meek men who thought wrongly in thinking they deserved to breathe the same air as you, let alone ask to wed you.
“No,” you sigh. Pushing the heat between your legs along his thigh, the warmth burning through to his skin. Making his throat bob, “don’t stop, please.”
Harwin had no interest in making his princess beg. Plead.
He was here to serve you. To please you. To aid you in your own pleasure. To take honor in you letting him touch, taste, have you in this way like no other has before.
You held the reins over him; his lust, his desire, his affliction to simply be next to you. You had encompassed his mind, body and soul. And even the strongest of men cannot resist the bewitching of such a maiden with beauty and power.
You bring him to his knees like a wielded sword that he’s all too eager and willing to succumb to.
And as he moves down your trembling figure to his knees, pushing up your night dress, pulling your leg over his shoulder—his mouth moving along the inside of your thigh, teeth sinking in, your hips jutting, whimpers leaving your lips; he knows he holds those same reins over you.
That his affliction was yours.
That if he so desired he could have your front pressed to the stone and you’d let him take you with his cock right here. Fucking into your tight heat, palm over your mouth; you would beg then, plead for more.
A need appeased for the both of you.
He’d love nothing more.
A thought for next time. Right now, having you wither against his mouth as he runs a stripe up your wet folds, lips wrapping around that bud that has your fingers wrapping in his curls and tugging—is what his princess needs, what he needs.
The nightly images of you trembling below and against his broad frame, that flashed behind his eyes with his hand around his cock late at night, were mere delusions compared to the look of pleasure you were giving him each time your eyes looked down upon his.
Each time the tip of his tongue swirled around your clit, his grip on your thighs bruising, the deep grunt that vibrates through the halls each time he thinks of the marks he could be leaving on your skin to remember for later—the same mark you have left on his being.
He’d make the marks on your soft skin just as permanent, if you let him. If you allowed him between your legs again.
He would worship at his knees for the whole kingdom to see. Show his honor and devotion in the swipe of his tongue or the thrust of his cock, if it meant being beside you.
Having you. He'd beat down a million men, bloodied and hanging onto their lives the way your fingers are clinging to his shoulder, as your hips pump against his face.
“Ahh,” you gasp as he slips a thick finger in your tight heat. His finger twisting and pumping in time with his mouth against your folds, your clit, no part of your cunt going untouched by his tongue.
He wonders if this was your intention all along, when you slipped from your bed and down the desolate halls so late at night. Were you looking for him? The glint of happiness when you saw him round the corner was enough for him to have his mouth on you within seconds.
There’s a burning need in his gut to pull his mouth from your sex and press it against yours again, to feel those lips that tell the most beautiful tales, that speak his name like a lullaby—to silence you so you’re not caught; a death sentence that does little to put fear in him, but excitement instead.
When Harwin adds another finger it takes the restraint of a strong man not to pull you down onto him, to not plea to be inside those same walls that are gripping his fingers in a vice. Your moans growing louder as he fucks you with them with more vigor.
And when you finally come undone against his mouth, the way you gasp his name like you’re speaking to the Gods themselves, Harwin knows that he’s ours.
“Take me to bed,” his princess breathes against his mouth as he licks into yours, letting you taste your own sweetness.
“Yeah?” His grin is overzealous, hips grinding into your still throbbing heat, his leathers unable to conceal the thickness of his cock. Your eyes going wide at the lengthy drag of it against you, wariness in your eyes. His voice low against your lips, “it’ll fit, trust me princess. I have you. If you’re certain.”
Your nod is slow but sure. A kiss pressed to his wet mouth in certainty.
He will take your virtue and make it his own with the gentlest of licks from his mouth and strokes of his hips.
Never had he imagined himself to be a soft man. A man willing to go slow with the tide when an animalistic necessity of power went along with his given name.
But for his princess, softness is all he held.
There would come a time where heavy thrusts and rough fingers would be dug into your soft skin. But tonight the gentleness that came with savoring the moment is what you both needed.

“Thank you, Your Grace.”
Princess Rhaenyra smiled warmly at the small child, as did you. The little girl humbly accepted the half a loaf of bread from the Princess’ hands.
You and the Princess were currently in the heart of King’s Landing, inside one of the city orphanages. The harvest that year was already proving to be bountiful, almost entirely in part to the good people who worked the lands of your home. It seemed that there was plenty of food to go around those days, and you were grateful that the Princess and the King were of the mind that it ought not to be wasted.
Back in the Reach, you and your brother had often done the same- you’d visited all of the orphanages and sick homes in Oldtown and even The Arbor at one point or another. Your father has instilled the concept of giving back to those in need very early on in your lives, as your grandmother had instilled the same in him.
You had mentioned this in passing to Princess Rhaenyra one day, when she was still becoming acquainted with you. Once she’d heard of it, she declared it to be a worthwhile endeavor, and adopted something similar as part of her own regular routine.  As such, she had made it a point to visit a new place in need throughout the city each week.
While it warmed your heart to help those less fortunate than yourself, especially the parentless children, you were happy that the Princess had decided to become more hands-on with her charitable works for other reasons. You were no fool- you knew how positively the common folk viewed noble men and women who showed them sympathy and kindness.
As lady in waiting to the future Queen, you knew it would be in Princess Rhaenyra’s best interest to win the hearts of the people as soon as possible. Dark plots were actively working against Princess Rhaenyra already, and the more political tools she equipped herself with, the better she’d fare in any future struggle for power.
While you had fully supported the Princess’ recent charitable endeavors, as did King Viserys, others from Court were less than thrilled with the idea. Queen Alicent had voiced some concern, as did Ser Criston Cole. He had deemed it too dangerous.
Even now, the Dornish knight was visibly sweating from across the room. From what the Princess had told you personally, and from what you had heard from others, Ser Criston Cole had experienced many battles, and lived to tell the tale of them all. And yet, in a simple orphanage within King’s Landing, he appeared to be visibly sweating and his eyes shifted across the room madly. His nervousness on behalf of the Princess’ safety had to have occupied his every thought.
Standing beside him, and much more relaxed in composure, was Ser Harwin Strong.
In your time at Court, Ser Harwin Strong had become a member of the City Watch. As a result, he’d become quite familiar with the inner workings of the city, and was comfortable walking amongst the streets. Ser Harwin had proven himself to be an asset for the Princess’ repeated journeys out into the city. Being out in the heart of the city didn’t appear to scare him or cause him any serious cause for concern. But you doubted anything would.
Unlike the panicked eyes of Ser Criston, Ser Harwin’s gentle eyes watched over you and the Princess carefully as you interacted with the children bouncing with excitement around you. You caught him staring at you as you continued to distribute bread, but forced yourself not to think too much of it.
Eventually, it was time to return the Red Keep. You could have sworn you’d never seen Ser Criston look so relieved- though perhaps that would only be true until the Princess’ next escapade concluded. He and Ser Harwin scouted the entrance to the orphanage to make sure there was no sign of danger while you and Princess Rahenyra bid the children goodbye with promises to return in a few weeks.
You made your way out of the dwelling to where the carriage, along with the rest of the guards who had been recruited to comprise the escort, was waiting for the two of you. Princess Rhaenyra climbed in first. You were quick to follow, but were temporarily paused when someone politely offered you an arm for assistance.
It was Ser Harwin.
“My Lady,” he said, bowing his head downwards towards his extended arm.
Despite yourself, you smiled at him as a sign of your gratitude, and hopped up and inside the carriage with his assistance. Once you and Princess Rhaenyra were both seated inside, the carriage was lifted up and off the ground, beginning the return back to the Red Keep. Ser Criston and Ser Harwin, one of them on either side of the carriage, kept vigilant eyes on your surroundings as the entourage moved through the streets. You caught glimpses of the two knights every now and then through the grated windows near the top of the carriage.
“I cannot tell you how relieved I am to be back,” Princess Rhaenyra sighed after a moment. She leant back against the wall of the carriage, and settled down further in her seat.
From your seat across from her, you offered her a small smile. “I recall the feeling of returning home after a long journey very well, Your Grace. I dare say that there is little else that compares.”
Princess Rhaenyra laughed shortly, but you knew she meant no offense. “Though I dare say the feeling of being out of the clutches of power-hungry suitors to be a far better one than that which you have described.”
You stifled a laugh, knowing your involuntary response would be frowned upon by most others at Court. However, none would be more displeased to hear of it than King Viserys, who had through painstakingly great lengths to arrange the tour of the Seven Kingdoms. It was all organized in the hope that his daughter might find a suitor worthy of both her heart and the title of King Consort.
Unfortunately, the tour had proven to be unsuccessful thus far. Princess Rhaenyra had visited the Reach, the Westerlands, and the Riverlands, and not a single notable contender had emerged- at least not in the eyes of Rhaenyra. She had claimed the majority of the hopefuls who had paid her visit to be either far too old, or far too young. She noted that the rest of them had been about as “insufferable” as their power hungry father and grandfathers, who had watched the proceedings with greedy eyes.
You had only received second hand accounts of the events, and largely from the Princess’ sole perspective. While it would have been expected of you to attend Princess Rhaenyra throughout her travels, she had taken her junior ladies in waiting with her for assistance instead. Meanwhile, she had tasked you with what she deemed to be far more important.
Princess Rhaenyra had asked you to stay behind, in King's Landing, to see to her personal affairs. It had been difficult to accept at first, even more so when the Princess went to visit the Reach. But you trusted and respected her opinion that you would be more of use to her elsewhere. While there would always be secretarial duties to attend to, and charitable functions to plan, the main reason the Princess had asked you to stay behind was for reconnaissance purposes.
Foul whispers about the Princess were abound, and they only grew more troubling in her absence. But with you, an obvious ally and devout supporter of the future Queen, roaming around the Red Keep in her stead, the whispers were more timid, and their perpetrators were kept at bay. Any rumors that still managed to reach your ears were immediately reported to Princess Rhaenyra upon her return.
“At least the Riverlands were quite remarkable,” Princess Rhaenyra noted positively, changing the subject. She gazed out the window, as if recalling a scene from her memory. “Even though they are named for such, I was truly amazed at the sheer amount of rivers we came across.”
You smiled at her enthusiasm.
“Have you ever been? To the Riverlands?”
“I’m afraid I have not had the pleasure, Your Grace.”
“We must change that then,” the Princess insisted, giving you a conspiring smile.
“Do you intend to return to the Riverlands soon?” you asked, with sincere interest. “Has one of the suitors finally caught your attention?”
Princess Rhaenyra rolled her eyes, a gesture that most would deem extremely unladylike. However, you knew it to be a common occurrence for her, and had grown quite accustomed to it. Her boldness was appealing, and refreshing amongst the other “highly-refined” ladies at Court. She had thick skin, and never hesitated to speak her mind; you knew that both qualities would serve her well as future Queen.
“Don’t sound too eager, Lady Y/N,” she chided playfully. “Lord Tully was a gracious host, of course. But unfortunately, all of the gentlemen callers were just the same. Too old, too young, or too-”
“-Insufferable,” you finished for her, having heard her same speech twice before.
Princess Rhaenyra laughed. “Precisely.”
In your time in service to the Princess, you had come to be quite close. You considered her a friend, and could only hope that she considered you to be the same. On bolder days, you might have contemplated whether Queen Alicent’s marriage to her father had left the young woman in search of some companionship. If there was a void in that area of her life, you were happy to fill it. You missed her when she was gone on her travels… But perhaps you missed one of her most recent traveling companions even more.
“It was not entirely a waste, I suppose,” Princess Rhaenyra admitted then, her tone shifting once more. “Ser Harwin Strong is far from terrible company.”
Immediately, you glanced at the carriage windows with worry. Was it possible that the very man in question was able to overhear you now? The streets were alive with people, but if Ser Harwin was walking right alongside the carriage…
However, Princess Rhaenyra did not seem deterred. In fact, noticing your apprehension only encouraged her more. She leaned forward in her seat, and said, “We had many great conversations, Ser Harwin and I.”
You forced yourself to smile, torn between the comradery and duty you felt for the princess, and the aching pain you felt in your heart.
“I can tell you all about our conversations, if you’d like,” Princess Rhaenyra offered, clearly, but thankfully, oblivious to your inner struggle. “I believe you’ll find them to be very interesting.”
Normally, you would readily indulge in some harmless gossip with her. But now, you loathed the thought of what she might tell you. “If it is your wish to share such details, Your Grace.”
The Princess finally noticed that something was amiss. She sat back in her seat, and gave you a befuddled look. “Is everything alright, Y/N?” she questioned. “You’ve been very quiet these past few days…”
You’d always prided yourself on your ability to be honest with the Princess. But at that moment, you could not compel yourself to tell her the entire truth. So, you settled for a half-truth, and opted to share with her one of the two things that hung very heavy over your head as of late.
“My father has taken ill,” you admit, lowering your voice so as not to be overheard by anyone outside of the carriage. “I received a letter from my brother just a few days past”
Princess Rhaenyra’s confused expression shifted to one of sympathy.
“The Maesters say he should pull through,” you continued, “But I am worried.”
The Princess had never been anything less than kind to you, but still, you could not have anticipated her next move. She reached across the carriage and placed a soothing hand overtop of your own, which you hadn’t realized you’d wrung together in your concern.
“My father has always described Lord Larris as a strong man,” she assured you full-heartedly. “I trust the gods will see to it that he recovers fully and swiftly.”
You were touched by her gesture. “Thank you, Your Grace.”
“Should you desire to go visit him, I will agree to it at once.”
“I will keep that in mind, Princess.”
Tumblr media
Later that evening, once the Princess had retired, you made your way from her chambers towards your own. Though the hallways of the Red Keep were seldom unoccupied, save the guards keeping watch, they certainly appeared to be that night.
It was unfortunate that the one person you encountered was the one man that, for once, you hoped not to see.
“Ser Harwin.”
The knight paused in his tracks, and bowed his head graciously in greeting. “Lady Y/N.”
“It is a good evening, is it not?”
“It is,” he agreed, smiling softly. “And, seeing as I have been fortunate enough to speak with you, it stands to improve even more.”
Despite your reservations, you blushed.
The relationship between yourself and Ser Harwin Strong, much like your relationship with Princess Rhaenyra, had grown tremendously during your time at Court. And, it had blossomed even as of late. While the Princess had tasked you with seeing to matters in King’s Landing while she went on her tours of Westeros, there were times when you had seen to everything that needed to be done, and as a result, you sought company instead. More often than not, that company had been found in Ser Harwin. Though he had his own duties to see to as a member of the City Watch, he’d never failed to make time for you.
At first, it started off with polite conversation occurring throughout strolls throughout the castle gardens and surrounding grounds. Princess Rhaenyra was correct in her insinuation earlier in the day- despite the bruteish nickname he bore, Ser Harwin was more than a decent conversationalist. The topics were light hearted, but any conversation with him sent your heart racing anyway.
Eventually, you began to share meals together on occasion. Deeper conversations occurred during those times. You’d come to discover that you and Ser Harwin had much more in common than either of you realized. You were both very close to your families. You had each lost your mothers at a young age, but both of you had good relationships with your fathers, and absolutely adored your siblings. He had enamored you with tales of the haunted halls of Harrenhal, and in exchange, you had told him all about the gardens of Highgarden and seasonal festivals that the Reach boasted.
Most recently, the two of you, along with a small party composed of his brother, two sisters, and another few members of the Court, had gone for a few days’ hunt in the Kingswood. You hadn’t lucked out on the hunt like some of the others had, but it was a thrilling experience nonetheless.
The hunt had led Ser Harwin to discover your familiarity with a bow. Though perhaps it was not very lady-like, your father had taught you how to shoot at a young age, deciding that it had the potential to be a unique party trick, at the very least. Your hobby had never been put to use by targeting live animals, but rather, stationary or inanimate objects thrown up into the air. For you, it had never been about the hunt, just the sport of it all.
As soon as you explained as much to Ser Harwin, he requested you to demonstrate your skills. You attempted to politely decline, but upon seeing a disappointed glint in his eyes, you changed your mind. A small crowd had assembled for the showdown between you and Ser Harwin one afternoon. His sisters, surprisingly, cheered for your victory instead of their older brother’s. You found it to be amusing, but oddly touching. Ser Harwin took it in stride, and merely jested about the familial betrayal.
At the end of the shooting rounds, you emerged as the winner, but by only a narrow margin. Ser Harwin could not be faulted; it was well known he was far more talented with a sword than bow, anyway.
Part of you feared Ser Harwin’s reaction, worried that his displeasure would put a strain on your growing relationship. But he had surprised you- as he often did.
“Any boy can denounce a loss as unfair, or even simply blame the wind for a poor shot,” he’d said, grinning ear to ear as he plucked one of your arrows from the bullseye of a target, and handed it back to you gracefully. “It takes a man to be willing to admit defeat to the truly better aim, regardless of who that victor may be.”
Ser Harwin Strong was a flatterer, through and through.
You raised your head to look him fully straight on. Speaking in such close proximity to Ser Harwin always made you recall just how massive he was. Your chin was practically tilted upwards, and his head was bowed down to regard you.
“I apologize that we have not been able to speak much before now,” Ser Harwin said, sounding and looking completely sincere.
“Your apologies are not necessary, My Lord. I am sure you’ve had a great deal of things to attend to, especially after having been gone these past few weeks.”
As was expected, Ser Harwin had traveled with Princess Rhaenyra during her tour of the Riverlands- his home. You had no doubt he had presented himself to her as a potential suitor in Lord Tully’s halls, along with dozens of other vying contenders. As the oldest son of Lord Lyonel, and Heir to Harrenhal, you knew Ser Harwin had every right to offer the Princess his hand. In fact, his failure to do so might have even been considered a slight against the crown- one that his father, the current Master of Laws, would not have likely been able to afford.
But you dreaded the day when news would reach your ears of Ser Harwin Strong’s betrothal. Between his title, strength, and handsomeness, it was a downright wonder why a match had not been made for him yet. You knew it was only a matter of time… and while you had come to cultivate deep feelings for the knight, Princess Rhaenyra would be a far better match for him.
Since their return from the Riverlands, you noticed more and more frequent looks exchanged between the two of them. Knowing looks. It was apparent to you that Princess Rhaenyra and Ser Harwsin held information that you were not privy to. And you had a sinking feeling as to what it was.
An announcement had yet to be made, but Rhaenyra had yet to complete her tour. She was off to the Stormlands the following week. And yet, it was likely all for show. She had to be fair and allow other potential suitors to believe they still stood a chance for her hand- when clearly they did not.
Princess Rhaenyra must have chosen Ser Harwin Strong.
The Realm’s Delight and Breakbones? They made a better pair than one would think. She was a dragon, and he was a fearsome warrior. Her mental ingenuity would only be supported by his brute force of strength. Together, they would take down enemies to her claim one by one. They would want or need for nothing- and neither would their children.
And you, you would resign yourself to your place. Despite being the daughter of Lord Tyrell, you could never hope to compete with the Princess of Westeros for a suitor’s hand. And you never would. You had sworn her your allegiance… your true heart’s desire be damned.
“How were your travels, My Lord?”
“A bit tiring, if I may speak plainly,” he replied carefully. Even you had to admit that he sounded fatigued. “But it was necessary, which has made it easier to bear.”
I suppose winning the heart of the future Queen of Westeros made the trip worthwhile as well, you couldn’t help but think to yourself. “I am glad to hear that, My Lord.”
Ser Harwin reached a hand up to smooth through his brown locks, and he shifted his weight from one foot to the other. You realized with slight shock that he was demonstrating an emotion you had yet to see him display in all the time you’d known him- Ser Harwin was nervous.
“Are you well, Ser Harwin?” you questioned, not caring at all about the concern which was evident in your voice.
Ser Harwin’s gaze softened even more. Your concern had moved him. “All is well, Lady Y/N…” He cleared his throat, before his eyes fell to the floor. “Or, rather, there are no physical ailments burdening me…”
On one hand, you were taken aback by the foreignness of it all. This large man looked as nervous and shy as some of the children you had visited that same morning. On the other hand, it was slightly endearing to learn that a man with the nickname Breakbones was not able to escape the burden of emotions that plagued everyone else. He was just as capable of being human as those two, even three times less his size.
Before you mentally dared to compare him to a gentle giant, Ser Harwin continued.
“I had some… rather enlightening conversations with Princess Rhaenyra during our travels,” he admitted, the nerves he physically displayed betraying his voice ever so slightly as well. “The conversations opened my eyes to a truth that I have denied for quite some time.”
You were surprised to hear that he had not been taken with Princess Rhaenyra upon first sight- most men were. But yet again, Ser Harwin was not like most men.
“I was hoping to discuss this further with you,” Ser Harwin confessed. He looked you straight on, and you couldn’t tear your eyes from his for a moment, even if you had wanted to. “Somewhere more private?”
There was a hopeful glint in his hazel eyes, but the thought of advising him on matters pertaining to keeping the Princess’ interest made you feel suddenly ill.
“Perhaps we could dine together in a few days?” he suggested then, his nerves amplified by your lack of immediate response. “Or, maybe we could take a walk in the gardens?”
You almost caved right then and there. Almost. Ser Harwin knew how much you liked walking through the castle gardens. Even though they paled in comparison to those of Highgarden, they still reminded you of home, and walking along the paths lined with various greenery and floral displays brought you comfort.
“I shall have to see, My Lord,” you replied, even though it practically pained you to not immediately agree. “The Princess has given me leave to visit my father, and I am inclined to take her offer.”
Instead of looking disappointed, Ser Harwin gave you a look of pure guilt.
“My sincerest apologies, My Lady,” he said. “... I may have inadvertently heard about the news of your father. While I did not mean to overhear you, I heard the Princess speak my name this afternoon, while the escort was on the way back to the Red Keep… I feared she required something of me. By the time I realized that I was not needed, I fear I may have heard too much.”
It was nice to have confirmation that the walls of the carriage were not very thick, if only for future reference. Part of you felt embarrassed by the fact that Ser Harwin had overheard your personal matter, but the other part felt relieved that the knowledge that had clouded your mind over the past few days had been made known to one of the few individuals you trusted in King’s Landing. And seeing as Ser Harwin looked and sounded as guilty as he admitted to be, you could not find it in yourself to be cross with him.
“Your apologies are not necessary, My Lord.”
“I wish Lord Tyrell a quick recovery,” he confided to you. “And, should you leave for Highgarden, I wish you safe travels.”
You smiled graciously. “Thank you, Ser Harwin. Should I see him, I shall pass your well wishes along to my father.”
It was Ser Harwin’s turn to smile then. But after a few moments, nervousness seeped into his composure once again. Though he was more soft-spoken than you had once imagined him to be, his next words were said so softly, that had you not been alone in the corridor, with only a few inches between yourselves, you might not have heard them at all.
“Should you decide to leave, Lady Y/N… I fear I will find myself counting down the days until I am in your company once more.”
… This man. This man was going to rip out your heart, tear it into pieces, toss it on the ground, and stomp on it through his impending marriage to the Princess you served dutifully. You knew you had to begin to prepare yourself to suffer through it… But you would also take any attention and warm sentiments that Ser Harwin Strong would grant you in the meantime.
The memories of his kindness that he had shown you would have to be enough to get you through the pain you were sure to endure.
Despite the forwardness of Ser Harwin’s words, what was more alarming was the stark seriousness of his expression. He meant every word of what he had just said, and you believed it fully. Still, you would have to be daft to decry him now just for the sake of proprietary.
“I must admit… I shall miss you too, My Lord.”
Tumblr media
By the end of the following week, Princess Rhaenyra was off on her tour of the Stormlands, with Ser Criston Cole glady serving as one of her escorts.
You had seen Ser Harwin in passing since the night you last spoke, but you did not make any further meaningful conversation with him. Though you missed your talks, you reasoned it was better for your heart to start putting some distance between the two of you now, before his marriage to Princess Rhaenyra would place you worlds apart.
You had seen to all the tasks that Princess Rhaenyra had left you with, and had begun to pack and ready the rest of your things. The plan was to embark on the trek back to Highgarden within a day or two.
But your plan was cut short when a messenger knocked on the door to your chambers. You had a visitor, and they were waiting for you in the courtyard of the Red Keep.
You hurried to the courtyard with moderate speed. It was seldom you had visitors- a cousin had visited once, a few weeks back. But besides that, no one had yet to pay you a visit. Many visitors to the Red Keep had it in mind to speak with many, many others besides the likes of you.
But when you entered the courtyard, you noticed the small entourage that had just arrived. No carriage in sight- just several men and their steeds. But that didn’t mean the visitor was from a place nearby. When your eyes fell upon a lean figure donned in the familiar colors of your House, you beamed brightly, knowing that without a doubt, this visitor was truly one for you.
“Brother?”
Your brother, Derron Tyrell, the Heir to Highgarden, turned to face you upon your call. When he saw you, he grinned. “Sister!”
You crossed the courtyard in large strides and practically leapt into Derron’s arms. Your brother caught you and returned your familial embrace with ease.
“I have missed you!” you told him hurriedly, pulling away to look at him. Even though it had only been a few months, going on a year at most, since you had seen him last, it had felt like far longer. But Derron looked the same as he always had, and it brought you joy to see him in good health.
“And I you, Y/N,” Derron replied, his smile still as bright as your own.
“What in the Seven Hells are you doing here?” you demanded of him in a hushed whisper, your arms falling back down to your sides. Suddenly, a terrible thought entered your mind. “Did I miss a raven? Is father-”
“Father is alive,” your brother was quick to assure you. “And you did not miss a raven, for there was none sent to you.”
You let out a sigh of relief.
Derron looked at his entourage surrounding him. Though you recognized most of them as bannermen with whom he had rode and fought beside for years, you could tell that your brother was wary of their presence at this particular moment.
“Come now, Sister- we have much to discuss.”
Tumblr media
It seemed that someone, although not you, had been expecting Derron Tyrell to arrive in King’s Landing. Chambers had already been set aside for him and his men, and he’d even been given a special audience with the King later in the week to discuss ongoing matters in the Reach.
Later that day, once your brother was settled in his chambers and unpacked, you met with him. You were eager to learn of the cause of his surprise visit, and to privately discuss what he had referred to in the courtyard.
The pair of you were seated at a table on the balcony connected to his chambers. As Derron poured you a glass of wine, before pouring one for himself, you asked him the question that had been on the forefront of your mind since his arrival.
“How is Father?”
“He’s made a turn for the better since I last wrote to you,” Derron answered truthfully, setting the pitcher of wine down. “He was still too weak to travel here, but the Maesters were even more hopeful than before by the time I left.”
That was great news. Perhaps your return visit to the Reach could wait a few more days, and once your brother’s affairs in King’s Landing were settled, you could ride back to Highgarden with him, and be all the more safer for it.
“What brings you here, Derron?” you asked then.
“You may not have received a raven, but Father did,” he replied. “Father received two of them, actually.”
“Who were they from?”
“The first was from Princess Rhaenyra herself.”
That was extremely surprising. Had you done something to upset the Princess? She seemed alright when she bade you goodbye before departing for the Stormlands… but perhaps she was attempting to save face in front of those around her. Had she written to your father and asked you to be removed from her service?
“I can see your mind racing,” your brother observed with a smirk. “You needn’t worry, Y/N. Princess Rhaenyra simply wished him a swift recovery, and invited him to King’s Landing to visit with King Viserys and to discuss matters of the Reach as soon as he was able to travel once more. I wish I had the letter to show you, but I believe father kept that for himself- the Princess complimented you greatly. I wish you could have seen the smile on his face as he read her words.”
The thought of your father’s smile due to humbling praises from Princess Rhaenyra brought a smile to your own face. You missed him. You missed home. But the visit with Derron would have to be enough, until a more suitable opportunity to return to Highgarden would appear.
“You mean to meet with the King later this week?” you asked, slightly confused. “Have you traveled here on Father’s behalf, then? Was there a matter so urgent that could not wait until he was able to travel here himself?”
“Yes… and no,” Derron. “All is as well as it can be in the Reach; the harvest has been as bountiful as we suspected it would be. But there was another, more pressing matter that required one of us to see to it immediately. Father decided it would be good practice for me to come and speak with the King about business while I was already in King’s Landing dealing with this other matter.”
The other matter must have been extremely pressing, if it had compelled your father to send Derron all the way to King’s Landing without so much as a raven’s notice. “Pray tell- what is this urgent matter you speak of?”
“That would involve the second raven Father received,” Derron pivoted. “Fortunately, I do have that letter in my possession. We both thought it might be best for you to see it for yourself.”
Your brother withdrew a rolled up piece of parchment from his coat, and handed it over to you. You took it with great intrigue, and immediately set about reading the tiny scrawlings littering the page.
“To Lord Larris Tyrell of Highgarden, Defender of the Marshes, Lord Paramount of the Reach, and Warden of the South:
I hope you are able to overlook my forwardness. I, Ser Harwin Strong, son of Lord Lyonnel Strong of Harrenhal, write to you regarding a most urgent matter of the mind and heart…”
You tore your eyes away from the page, and looked back up at your brother. The reassuring look on his face confirmed what you had suspected- your eyes were not deceiving you.
Ser Harwin had written to your father directly.
But what on earth for?!
“We received the raven with this message just a few days before I set out for King’s Landing. But I assure you, Father and I have discussed the contents of this letter at great length.”
You were almost too afraid to ask, but you found the courage to do so anyway. “What does this letter have to do with your visit?”
“If you would continue reading on, you shall see for yourself,” Derron encouraged you. “There are important conversations to be had with Ser Harwin Strong… as well as his father, Lord Lyonel. Such matters are far more appropriate to address in person, rather than by letter.”
Your eyes fell once more down to the parchment in your hands. “What matters could possibly require such attention?”
“... I can tell by your reaction that you have not spoken with Ser Harwin as of late,” your brother deduced. Didn’t last week count? “But that is of no matter. Now that I am here, we can all address it. Please, Y/N. Keep reading.”
“...
I would like to start by wishing you the quickest of recoveries.
I hope this letter reaches you in due time- I intend to discuss this subject with Lady Y/N in depth as soon as she allows me, and as soon as I muster up the courage to do so. I believe she is the one who deserves to learn of this matter first, and so that she may pass her judgment on it. But, on the advice of my father, out of respect for your great House, and out of respect to my own, I thought it wise to at least enlighten you about my intentions.
I apologize- I have never had the reputation for being a particularly eloquent man. But for this letter, I shall to be just that. I have only recently returned to King’s Landing from escorting Her Grace, the Princess Rhaenyra to my home, the Riverlands. Despite the tiredness I feel, the journey opened my eyes to a truth that I feel drawn to act upon at once.
My Lord, I have had the immense pleasure of sharing company with Lady Y/N since the Princess Rhaenyra recruited her to be of her service some time ago. Although I am sure you are aware, Lady Y/N is a great compliment to your house. Her kindness and charms are extended warmly to all, from the royal family to the poor of King’s Landing. Her wit entertains all who are blessed with her conversation, and her tenacity to succeed in an environment without the support of her family, who she clearly loves so dearly, has been nothing short of inspiring- even to a ‘brute’ such as myself.
All of this, when combined with the mere passage of time, and counsel from Princess Rhaenyra herself throughout our recent travels, has led to me to face one conclusion that I have been blind to for some time.
I have become completely captivated by Lady Y/N.
 …”
Derron’s next words nearly fell upon deaf ears as you spaced out, torn between continuing your enthralled reading of the letter in your hands, and seeking clarification to the many questions that had been raised by it.
“It would seem,” your brother said wistfully, “That I am here to discuss the terms of your courtship, and inevitable betrothal, to Ser Harwin Strong.”
You were astonished.
“But before I can do that, I must know… Is this what you truly want?”

Let’s Stay Here
warnings: fluff, not proofread, targaryen!reader, she/her pronouns used, reader is 18+
summary: having been born the second Targaryen daughter, you were used to being overlooked. however, there was one person who always had his eyes on you.
author’s note: this is purely self indulgent. I am obsessed with Harwin. also fuck house of the dragon I’ve got beef with that show now
When Rhaenyra had been named heir to the iron throne, you had been happy for her. Of course you had– you two were sisters, and although born a few years apart, you were close friends.
But with Rhaenyra’s naming, chaos had followed. Whispers in the halls of the Red Keep; sour looks from disapproving lords; passive aggressive comments from the queen.
Some days you felt as though you would explode if you remained in the castle any longer.
So, logically, you began to sneak out.
It was harmless fun at first; just seeing how long you could go without being noticed. The City Watch was relentless with their nightly patrols, and so it became somewhat of a game to evade them.
Over time, you became more bold. You would wear less to disguise yourself. You would stand closer to watchmen. A few times you even swiped trinkets and food from vendors in the street.
As all things do, however, it eventually became boring. What used to be exhilarating became mundane, and you once again ached for excitement. That excitement came in the form of one Ser Harwin Strong.
You knew who he was; his father was hand of the king, after all. And Harwin was certainly memorable by himself. You and Rhaenyra had whispered about him more than a few times before, but she had never been taken with him– not like you had.
So, when you finally spotted him one night in Flea Bottom, patrolling the streets in his armor, you couldn’t resist the urge to test your luck.
Grinning to yourself, you pulled off the torn cap barely hiding you hair and shoved it into the pocket of your trousers. With silver hair on full display, you started your trek towards Harwin.
He had his back turned to you as he walked down an empty alleyway. You cautiously approached, deciding to just walk past him to see if he would notice.
Your shoulder brushed his armor-clad one as you passed him, and instantly the knight reacted. His hand that had been resting upon the pommel of his sword gripped it, beginning to unsheathe the blade.
You just kept walking, until his startled “Princess?” stopped you.
You turned with a smile, curtsying to the knight. You saw as he tried– and failed– to mask a smile.
“Ser Harwin. Lovely night, is it not?” You spoke as if you were out for a stroll in the gardens at the keep. He shook his head, sheathing his sword and dropping his hand to the side.
“Forgive me, princess, but you shouldn’t be out here. Especially not alone.”
You hummed in agreement, nodding your head. “Would you care to accompany me, then? I’ve grown quite bored by myself. I’m sure you would provide great company.”
“Princess, I cannot– I must take you back your quarters.”
“You mustn’t. I am in need of some fresh air and excitement. My quarters have become quite stuffy as of late.”
He looked at you, and you could tell he was torn between his mischievous spirit and his duty. Deciding to make the choice for him, you took a step back.
“Well, Ser Harwin, I understand you must do your duty and return me to safety. However, I fear that you must catch me first. I hope that armor is lighter than it looks,” you teased before turning and running out of the alley. You could hear him curse and then the clanging of armor as he ran after you.
“Stop!” He called out, causing a few heads to turn as he followed you into a crowded street.
You laughed with glee as you slipped between people, turning your head every so often to catch a glimpse of Harwin’s gold cloak far behind.
As you rounded a corner, you were met with a dead end. You turned to leave, only to be met with the armor of a city watchman once again.
Looking up, you grinned as Harwin scowled.
“Hello again, Ser. It seems you’ve caught me.”
“It seems I have,” he grumbled, reaching for your arm. You willingly gave it to him, watching as his hand grasped your bicep. His grip wasn’t tight– but it certainly wasn’t lax, either.
He began to steer you back towards the castle, and you sighed. You easily could’ve evaded him longer than you had– you’d been doing it for years. However, maybe a part of you had wanted him to catch you.
Harwin had always been kind to you and Rhaenyra. He wasn’t like the other lords at court– he wasn’t fawning over your sister and vying for her hand. He was watching from afar– occasionally up close– and his focus wasn’t on her. It was on you.
“Forgive me if I speak out of turn, Princess,” he begins, and you nod your head absentmindedly. “But I cannot believe that the red keep could be so bad that you have to sneak out every night.”
You stopped, causing Harwin to tug slightly on your arm as he took another step. At your halt, he turned and looked at you with a grin.
“You can’t think you’ve gotten through the streets so safely all these years without help, Princess. I am better at my job than you think.”
“Why haven’t you stopped me before?” You questioned, resuming your walk.
“I have… noticed certain things during my time here. Certain things pertaining to you.”
“You’ve been watching me, then?” You replied, to which he chuckled.
“Everyone watches, Princess. Some more closely than others.”
“So it seems,” you responded. The two of you fell silent as Harwin steered you back towards the keep. It shouldn’t have surprised you that he led you right to the secret passage you had used to get out of the castle.
Smiling sheepishly, you removed your arm from his grasp and turned towards the passage. He bowed, giving you a quick “princess” before turning to head back towards the city streets.
“I’ll see you tomorrow night, Ser Harwin.” You called over your shoulder, causing him to stop mid-step. He didn’t turn, but you heard him chuckle as he continued on. You smiled to yourself as you watched him leave for a moment, before turning and slipping into the passage.
Your game continued from then on, except you weren’t the only player. You would deliberately search for Harwin, and he would always take you right back to the keep– but you two became closer as time passed. You would drag out your walks to speak to him for just a minute more. He would insist on hiding in the shadows for a moment so he could survey the nearby crowd, only so he could get closer to you in the darkness.
Eventually, you could no longer entertain your nightly trips to the streets of King’s Landing. You were being watched more closely as tensions within the castle rose. It didn’t help that Rhaenyra’s scorned suitors were now turning to you, as their first choice had been wed to Laenor. If they couldn’t have the heir, at least they could still have a Targaryen.
Your father became engrossed in finding you a match– just as he had done for Rhaenyra. Of course, you had already made up your mind on who you wished to wed.
“What are you thinking about?”
Harwin’s rumbling voice broke you from your thoughts of marriage and politics. You smiled as you rolled over in your bed to face the man beside you.
“Marriage,” you replied honestly, closing your eyes as he brushed a strand of silver hair behind your ear.
“Marriage, hm?” He spoke, his hand coming to rest on your cheek. You nodded, your eyes still closed.
“Which lucky lord shall be your husband?” He asked, and you reached your hand up, resting it atop his.
“No decision has been made yet. Perhaps a Lannister? Maybe a Baratheon?”
“You wound me, Princess,” he said, and you giggled as you opened your eyes. He was smiling at you, and you couldn’t help but smile back.
“Oh, how about a Tully?”
“Truly, you have no heart,” he told you, to which you laughed. You removed his hand from your cheek, intertwining your fingers.
“Of course I wish to wed you, my love. I could not imagine marrying another.”
“The son of the hand and the daughter of the king. I’m sure the king will be thrilled,” Harwin spoke.
“The king will be thrilled to be rid of me,” you replied, shuffling closer to him. “I am a burden keeping him from focusing on his heir.”
“You,” Harwin said, “are no burden. The king is lucky to have a daughter as great as you.”
“Flattery suits you, Ser Harwin,” you giggled. He chuckled and released you hand in favor of reaching over and pulling you into his chest.
“Tell me more of how great I am.”
“That would take years, Princess,” he responded.
“I have plenty of those.”
Harwin chuckled again, a deep and soothing sound to your ears. You rested your head on his chest as he slipped his fingers through your hair.
“Let’s just stay here forever. No eyes watching. No family quarrels. Just us,” you whispered.
“Just us,” he repeated.

Masterlist | Part 1 | based on this request | requests are OPEN!
When Harwin returns to your chambers, he’s exhausted from City Watch patrol and all he wants is to fall into bed with his pretty wife – only that you’re not there.
He pauses at the emptiness of the bed. Usually, you’re already in your nightclothes at this time, asleep with a book in hand and it’s left to Harwin to carefully lie you down and cover you with a blanket.
Instead, the bed is empty. He searches through your rooms, in your newly deemed library, more books in shelves and piling on the floor, with notes scattered between them, but that too, is empty. Next, he looks in the nursery your father gifted to you prematurely, only to be disappointed by the sight of another empty room.
With an exasperated sigh, Harwin heads out of your chambers and towards the only other place you could be: the royal library.
He’s been here only a few times, most of them after he’s been married, and always to look for his wife. And indeed, you’re in the library as well. Curled up in a far corner, with a book in hand and-
Is that his shirt?
As he comes closer, Harwin can see that you’re wearing his shirt and simple linen pants. Only that his shirt is massive and gives everyone a perfect view of your cleavage.
“My love.” He greets you, leaning against the wall across from you.
“Harwin.” you smile up at him, almost doe-eyed.
“What are you reading that forced you out of our chambers?” he asked
“A book about Sothoryos. They have monsters so venomous they can kill a hundred men.” You replied, lifting the book up to emphasize the chain connected to it.
“And you did that… in my shirt?” Harwin asked.
“I hope you don’t mind. I couldn’t exactly walk around in nightclothes, but I did not want to wake my maid-in-waiting to dress me this late. They’re quite comfortable.”
“Do you want to retire for the night?” Harwin offered, and you nodded, standing up to put the book away. Harwin watched as the shirt fell even lower, revealing the tops of your breasts.
Unaware of the predicament you were putting him in, you kissed him on the cheek, before hooking your arm in his. You made your way towards the exit of the library, but before you could step into the hallways of the Red Keep, Harwin put his gold cloak over your shoulders, trying to tie it in front of your breasts.
“What’s wrong?” you asked.
“Your shirt is- it’s quite revealing.” Harwin answered.
“Ah.” You replied, pulling the cloak closed and making your way toards your chambers.
“Ah?” Harwin asked after a few minutes.
“I didn’t realise.” You said. Harwin glanced down at you, the way you were practically skittering towards your chambers.
“Was Sothoryos that interesting?” he asked.
“You couldn’t drag me there for anything in the world, but it’s fun to read about.”
“I’d rather drag you somewhere else.” He mumbled, too quiet for you to hear.
The Red Keep seemed swept empty, the two of you only passing a few guards and Lord Beesbury, who tottered past you without a care in the world. But Harwin did not miss the glances the guards threw at his wife.
It wasn’t your clothes, or your cleavage, but simply that you were pretty enough to catch any man’s eye, and those in the Red Keep often had no manners.
“They’re staring at you.” Harwin said through gritted teeth.
“Is that so?” you asked, and Harwin saw you fight the devious smile worming itself onto your lips. Slowly, he began to realise what was going on.
“Was this your intention?”
“No.” you replied, but your tone was so uneven that he highly doubted it.
“It was.” He said, his mouth almost falling open in shock. “My innocent lady wife, trying to get me jealous. Why?”
“I wasn’t trying anything.” You said, but the smirk on your face was all-telling. Harwin shook his head, trying his best to ignore the fact that the guards walking past were still staring, but when one of them turned to look at your ass after he’d passed you, something in Harwin snapped.
Quickly, he pulled you into an alcove, away from the main hallway, staring down at you with dark eyes.
“Why?” Harwin tried again, but you only smiled at him giving him no answer. Instead, you surged up, kissing him roughly. Harwin gave in, melting against your lips after such a long day. He almost gave a groan when you nipped his lower lip. Your hands were exactly where he liked them to be, lightly tugging at his hair.
Frustrated, he flipped you around, careful not to smack you against the wall, but still pressing you against the cool stone. His giant hands quickly dwarfed yours as he lowered himself down to your ear.
“Are you going to give me an answer or must I get it out of you myself?” he asked. Harwin wasn’t sure if it was a good idea to let this side of him come out so soon, if she’d like it, or withdraw again, terrified, but right now he needed this.
Instead of answering him, you gave him a cheeky smile, letting your ass brush against his crotch, where he was already hard.
So he flipped you back around, only to be met with the sight of your lust-blown pupils and heaving chest, revealed to him since his golden cloak had fallen of your shoulders.
“You’ve got a terrible lack of respect.” He warned.
“Is that so?” you jabbed.
“I am Lord Commander of the City Watch, heir to Harrenhal and your Lord Husband, so yes.”
“I didn’t know you took yourself so seriously.”
“You’re walking a dangerous line here.”
“Bite me.” You said, your smile still much too bright to his liking. Angrily, he hoisted you up over his shoulder, carrying you the rest of the way to your chambers. He didn’t care about the looks he got from the last pair of guards, only that their eyes wandered up to your ass on his shoulder too quickly.
When you made it to their chambers, Harwin kicked the door closed behind him, sitting you down on the edge of the bed.
The smug smile on your face made him feel murderous, and at the same time, he was impressed by the fact that you had grown this bold so quickly.
“How did you get this idea?”
“Believe it or not, I am in forced proximity to the other ladies of the court. I hear them talk about their affairs and such.”
“So you want to have an affair? Is that it?” Harwin hissed.
“No. Only taking their advice.”
“For what?”
“Getting ravished.” You said.
An idea began to form in Harwin’s head at your words. Two could play at this game. So he crossed the distance between the two of you, capturing your lips in a heated kiss, but instead of lying you down on the bed as he normally did, he picked you up, carrying you towards a wall.
Your legs were hooked tightly around his waist, stone digging into your back as he grabbed your ass in his palms.
“You want to get ravished, hmm?” he whispered in your ear, and you nodded, frantically trying to reach his neck to place kisses there, but he pulled away with a chuckle.
“Say it.” He demanded.
“Please. Please fuck me, husband.” You whispered breathlessly.
“My wife. What would people say if they saw you now, begging like a common whore.” Harwin replied. “Get on your knees.”
“What?” you stuttered, and Harwin reveled in your innocence.
“You’re a smart girl. Do what I did for you.” He commanded. You blushed furiously in response.
“I am-“ you began, but Harwin interrupted you.
“I don’t give a fuck what you are. You certainly didn’t.”
Slowly, you sank down to your knees, watching Harwin as he opened his breeches and took out his cock, pumping leisurely.
“Open up, my love.” He commanded. His hands threaded through your hair, he guided you, and you quickly found a rhythm, trying to apply what you had heard about… this.
You couldn’t see him well, but you could hear him, groaning praises to you.
“You look so pretty like that, on your knees for me.” He said, hips bucking upward as his head fell back.
After a while, he grabbed your hair in his hands, carefully tugging at it and pulling you upwards. You stood on wobbly knees, letting him wipe the spit out of the corner of your mouth.
With no qualms about it, Harwin kissed you, leading you to the bed a little gentler than before.
His hand wandered down your body, going between your legs.
“You’re soaked for me love. All that from sucking my cock?” he demanded.
“Please.” You replied. Harwin wanted to chuckle to himself. You were a mess, blushing furiously but obviously hoping for him.
He took his time with your clothes, letting his hands trail so slowly he could see the frustration form in your eyes. Slowly, he palmed your breasts, licking your nipples until they grew hard, before moving on to your cunt.
Harwin draws teasing you out, letting his beard barely scratch you clit, touching you everywhere except where you need him to be. When you try to push him down, he grabs your hand, holding it down on the mattress.
“You want to be fucked?” he asked again, and you nodded enthusiastically, brows furrowing to confusion as he leaned back against the cushions.
“Get on top.” He commanded.
Hesitantly, you moved to hover over him, and Harwin helped you guide himself into you. As you sank down on his dick, his hands found your hips, steadying you carefully.
“Good?” he asked, his caring side taking over. Yes, he was frustrated, but he would never risk hurting you.
“Yeah.” You replied. With his hands guiding you, you rolled your hips, causing him to hit that spot inside you.
“Take your pleasure.” He commanded. You moved around for a bit, trying to figure out what felt right, and when you did, you started moving more quickly.
You felt his eyes burn into you, never once leaving your form. When Harwin gave you a smirk, you couldn’t help but comment.
“What?” you snapped.
“Look at you, bouncing on my cock.”
“I-“ you began, freezing where you were. And then, his hand was on your neck. Not quite choking, but still dangerously close to it.
“You like that?” Harwin asked. You nodded in response, and he dared to squeeze a little tighter.
“Keep going.” He commanded, and you continued to move, feeling the tension build up in your belly. You let yourself be loud, not caring how much any guards outside might hear, only caring about the high you were chasing.
Harwin was still watching you, and when he saw you get close, he began bucking up into you, helping you along until you came around his cock, your cunt desperately clenching for more.
You practically collapsed on top of him, his cock still inside you.
“You didn’t get your release.” You murmured.
“It’s fine.” He said, his hands wandering to your hips to lift you off.
“No, keep going. I’m not sure if I can move though.” You replied.
Harwin nodded, positioning your head onto his chest. You felt him thrusting into you, his hips slapping against your ass as you bounced upwards, your head in the crook of his shoulders. Not soon after, his thrusts grew sloppy.
Wanting him to feel as good as you, you did your best to ride him for the last part of it. You felt a sense of pride as his head tipped back, giant hands practically bruising your hips with his grip until you felt him spill inside you.
Completely exhausted, you rolled off of him, lying down next to him. You stayed like that for a while, until he opened his eyes again with a smile on his face.
“I suppose you should disrespect me more often.” He said.
“Perhaps.” You replied, spreading out on the bed like a lazy cat. When Harwin got up, you followed his movements shamelessly, staring at his back like there was no tomorrow.
Suddenly, you heard him chuckle.
“What is it?” you asked.
“You moved the bed.” He replied.
“The power you possess over me.” You sighed, letting him push the bed back into place. He returned with towel, cloth and a jug of wine.
Carefully, Harwin wiped you down, before he dried off your back. You hadn’t noticed yourself sweat, but this felt like a treat anyway.
When he was done, he handed you a glass of wine.
“How was your day?” you asked.
“Tiring. There’s a group of children running around in Flea Bottom, cutting the purses of the people.”
“Did you catch them?”
“Actually, I let them go.” He admitted. “There’s no sense in chopping off the hands of hungry children. They’ll only grow to resent the king. Gave them an earful about stealing though.”
“That’s kind of you.”
“What about you?” Harwin asked. As you moved behind him to work out the tenseness in his shoulders, you thought for a moment.
“Grand Maester Orwyle and I got into a small argument over whether or not I should be in the royal library all the time, and of course, I read about Sothoryos. I also visited the stables, to pick a horse so that I can accompany you riding sometime.”
“Why did you argue with the Grand Maester?” Harwin asked. “Is the library not open to everyone?”
“It is, but he finds that I take up too much space. Even though the books I read are mostly dusted over.” You complain.
“I’ll have a word with him tomorrow.” Harwin decided.
“You mustn’t.”
“I must. Otherwise, you’ll be caught stealing from the library soon.” He joked. Carefully, he turned around to you, grabbing you by the waist and setting you down in front of him.
You wanted to protest, but he had already begun working out the kinks in your own neck.
“You do need better posture if you want to continue reading though.” Harwin said.
“And they more comfortable seating arrangements.” You replied.
“I’d like to go riding with you.” Harwin interjected. “It can be fun, if done properly.”
“I see that now.” You joked. Harwin rolled his eyes at that, lifting up the covers next to him and allowing you to cuddle into his arms.
“I’m so glad I married you.” You said, missing the smile on his face at your words. Yes, married life was far better than you had thought, even if you would have to pull your lord husband off of the Grand Maester tomorrow.

Love in the Kingswood | Harwin Strong X Reader
Tumblr media
Pairing: Ser Harwin Strong X Fem!Reader
Word Count: 2489
Synopsis: Princess Rhaenyra's Lady in Waiting, Lady (Y/N) Vaelor, slays a boar to protect her cousin, upon her return to the royal camp she realizes she's caught the attention of Ser Harwin Strong, and as they go on their own hunt they fall in love.
Author's Note: Feedback and comments are always appreciated! Also any ideas for other one shots so I can be inspired to write more :). Can be found on A03 as well.
Never had you been so happy to see a forest as you were when you arrived at the Kingswood. After hours of awkward small talk, glares from Alicent and the uncomfortable bumpy carriage ride you were more than ready to disembark. As Lady in Waiting to Princess Rhaenyra you were a constant companion at her side and as a distant cousin you were welcomed into the inner circle of the Royal Family. King Viserys had recognized Rhaenyra’s increasing isolation after Queen Aemma’s death so he reached out to your father Lord Vaelor who quickly dispatched you to King’s Landing. It was daunting at first but you became fast friends with Rhaenyra, a comforting and supporting presence for her. As the royal carriage slowed you could hear the cheers for the babe Aegon outside, Rhaenyra already withdrawing into herself.
“Are you ready?” you asked softly, grasping her hand and giving it a reassuring squeeze. After a few seconds she gave you a brave smile and nod before stepping off with you at her side.
The encampment was enormous with various tents and booths for Aegon’s name day celebration. Soon you found yourself in the main royal tent and after a quick conversation with King Viserys who doted on you as if his own daughter, you went on your rounds but kept a watchful eye on Rhaenyra. The King never explicitly stated you were to mind her but it became evident you were also responsible for keeping her in line, as spirited as she was. As you exchanged words with Larys Strong, you could see Rhaenyra speaking with her father, both voices increasing in tandem with their agitation. As their argument came to a crest, gathering the attention of the court, Rhaenyra stormed off.
“Pardon me, Larys I must go!”
Larys, understanding your role, nodded and stepped aside as you tried your best not to run in the tent, trying to make it through the maze of people. Once you were at the exit you broke into a sprint at the same time someone was walking in.
“Excuse me, I’m so sorry!” you apologized, not even recognizing the tall man you had bumped into. Ser Harwin Strong had seen you at court, a quiet shadow to the fiery Princess Rhaenyra, and had only formally met you when King Viserys had introduced you to the court. Watching you run after her he couldn’t help a small smile, he found your panicked state quite adorable. As he watched you go after Rhaenyra, his brother inched closer to him.
“Lady Vaelor is most kind, I’m sure she did not mean to leave in such a haste,” Larys noted.
“Do you spend time with her often?” Harwin turned to his brother. “We sometimes cross paths in the library and will have tea with others from court in the Godswood,” Larys replied.
“Do I sense romance?” Harwin teased but Larys rolled his eyes. “No. But from the way you constantly ask after her and the way you stared at her bottom as she walked past I’d say you had that notion in your own head,” Larys replied coolly. Harwin let out a bark of laughter, slapping his brother on the arm before continuing into the tent, the feeling of your body pressing against his, still on his mind.
“Rhaenyra wait!” you cried, lifting the bottom of your skirt as you tried to keep up with her long strides but she was soon galloping off into the forest.
“Ser Criston-,” you called out and you didn’t need to finish as he helped you up on your horse before mourning his own. Without wasting another minute your steeds were off, racing to follow Rhaenyra. You loved your cousin dearly, would defend her to the very end but sometimes you swore she was trying to give you gray hairs. Thankfully you were a skilled rider and even in your dress you quickly caught up with her. Criston grabbed the reins of her horse and she scowled as she was stopped.
“Gods above Rhaenyra give me warning next time you decide to run off,” you shook your head, patting the neck of your horse to calm it down.
“I just couldn’t stand it one more minute! I don’t want to marry,” she pouted, silver strands whirling around her face. Criston looked over to you and you both exchanged a serious look, shaking your head in disappointment but the air of seriousness broke as Rhaenyra smirked, making the forest come alive with your trio’s laughter.
Rhaenyra insisted on walking back but you were nowhere close to the camp by the time the sun had set. Thankfully your horses had food and water and a light blanket strapped to them so you assisted Criston in making the fire as Rhaenyra set up for the night.
“Do you think the realm would ever accept me as Queen?” Rhaenyra broke the calm silence as you all ate the bread and meat from your packs.
“The lords bent the knee to you Princess,” Criston replied but she didn’t seem satisfied by that answer.
“I think that you will be a great Queen. The realm never had a chance to be reigned by a Queen before. They may be uncomfortable at first but once you prove yourself to them they will love you as I do cousin,” you said making her grin. Before she could reply there was a rustle in the distance and the horses began to whine. Criston was up and peering into the darkness, sword at the ready for whatever it could be. From the corner of your eye you saw Rhaenyra bring out her glinting dagger and you cursed yourself for being unprepared. Suddenly you and Rhaenyra screamed as a large boar burst through the bushes and rammed into Criston sending him flying to the side. It barreled straight towards Rhaenyra, jumping on top of her as she let out another scream. The urge to defend and protect surged through you as you grabbed her dagger from the ground. With a cry you plunged it into the boar’s back with a sickening crunch. Blood sprayed everywhere, hot and sticky, and the squeals of the boar filled the air. Criston pulled Rhaenyra out from under the boar as you continued to stab it, not stopping until it went completely still. The dagger fell from your hands, and you looked down, eyes widening in realization. Blood poured down your face and neck and the light purple fabric of your dress turned maroon.
“Fuck,” you hung your head.
“Fuck indeed,” Rhaenyra whispered, as she held onto Criston tightly.
“Cheers to Lady Vaelor, Slayer of Boars,” Criston breathed out before you fell over in exhaustion.
The following morning your trio finally made it back to the royal camp, exhausted, dirty and in need of a bath. The only upside was your kill which was being dragged by Criston’s horse. It soon became clear to everyone who had killed the boar. Climbing off your horse you tried to keep your composure as dozens of eyes watched you. Thank the gods your mother was not here or she would have dragged you off by your ear. Judgment and shock were evident on everyone’s faces as you walked alongside Rhaenyra. She had some blood splattered on her boots but you were drenched. It must have been quite the sight, Lady (Y/N) Vaelor, Princess Rhaenyra’s Lady in Waiting covered in the blood of the boar she had slain. What caught you by surprise was that in the sea of judgmental gazes there was a man, smiling. He was grinning as he peeled the skin off a rabbit, eyes roaming over you in a way that sent a delightful shiver over your body. Then you quickly realized who it was- Ser Harwin Strong. Thankfully the blush that spread across your cheeks was hidden by the blood. You were acquaintances with his brother Larys but had never gotten the chance to spend time with the man they called Breakbones. There he was eyeing you with a mixture of awe and something else, a sort of hunger. Breaking away from his gaze you followed Rhaenyra to your personal tent for a long awaited bath.
Later that evening you mustered the courage to come out of your tent and eat dinner. King Viserys had publicly thanked you for the boar, which was cooked for tonight. Not used to all of this attention you kept to the edge of the feast, picking at your meal. A shadow passed over you and when you looked up, your heart began to beat as fast as a hummingbirds.
“Ser Harwin,” you curtsied, dress pooling around you, tongue grazing your teeth to make sure nothing was stuck in it.
“At ease Lady Vealor,” he replied seriously as if you were a fellow member of the Night’s Watch, making you giggle. “That was horrible, I apologize,” Harwin chuckled nervously, rubbing the back of his neck.
“No, it was quite funny. How can I help Ser Harwin, if you are looking for the Princess-,” you began but he stepped closer to you, close enough that you needed to look up as he towered over you. “No, I was looking for you,” he said. Another blush spread across your cheeks and you found yourself at a loss for words. The most handsome man in Westeros (in your opinion because Rhaenyra would argue Daemon) was looking for you?!
“What do you say to going out on a small hunt of our own?” he asked hopefully. “I was impressed by your killing of the boar and I’ve heard you enjoy archery-,” he continued to ramble, as if afraid to hear rejection from you.
“I’d love to.”
Harwin paused, eyes widening with happiness and he suppressed the urge to sweep you up in his arms at the moment. Gathering his composure he stepped back, “Tomorrow morning then, I shall arrive at your tent at sunrise, My Lady,” Harwin bowed his head.
“See you then Ser Harwin,” you curtsied before dashing off to find Rhaenyra.
Morning couldn’t come soon enough and when Harwin announced himself outside your tent you were ready, flinging the curtain open. Harwin forgot what he was going to say as he looked down at you as he gulped. Gone was the usual purple dress, today you looked like a huntress. Hair braided away from your face, leather trousers, your house sigil of two spears embroidered on your vest.
“Good morning Ser Harwin, Princess Rhaenyra is spending the day with the King so it looks like I’m all yours today,” you greeted him with a shy smile.
“I’ll take any time I get with you Lady (Y/N),” Harwin smiled back before offering you his arm.
Your conversation had started light as you walked through camp, the usual pleasantries especially with so many ears around but as you made your way deeper into the forest you found yourself opening up more. Harwin was a great listener, nodding along to your stories and quite eager to learn more about you as he asked about your home, your life. It wasn’t long before you began to see evidence of rabbits in the area, Harwin insisting you take the lead on the hunt.
“Wouldn’t you prefer to be out there hunting down deer and wolves Ser Harwin, instead of hunting little rabbits with a Lady,” you teased as you crouched down. Harwin crouched down beside you, angling his body closer to yours.
“There’s nowhere I’d rather be at this moment,” he whispered, his breath tickling your ear. Turning to look at him, you were entranced by the depth of his eyes and you resisted the urge to run your hand through his mess of curls, turning back to the task at hand. Harwin watched as you brought out your bow, silently parting the bushes to get a clearer look at your target.
Notching the arrow your eyes narrowed in concentration, as you prepared your kill. Slowly your breaths evened out and with a final exhale your arrow went flying before hitting the rabbit straight through the eye.
“Damn!” Harwin cheered, squeezing your shoulder. Other men would have chastised you for your skill, or felt their manhood threatened but not Harwin. Ser Harwin Strong was not like other men, and you could already feel the stir of love in your chest.
After a few hours you had amassed quite a few rabbits and hares, Harwin carrying them in a bag as you walked beside him. With every step your bodies inched closer, shoulders grazing one another’s. After a few more minutes you approached a small creek bed that led to the camp and before you could look for a log to cross over, Harwin offered you his hand. Thinking he would guide you through the small stream you took it, “Thank you Ser-,” you began but let out a squeak as he wrapped his muscular arm around your waist and hoisted you up against his body. Instinctively you curled up against him, arms snaking around his neck as he walked you both through the water. He did not let you go however until you came closer to the camp, not at all tired. As he let you down you fought the urge to pout, not wanting to leave his comforting grasp.
“I’ve had a wonderful time, truly,” you thanked him, looking up at Harwin.
“Please just Harwin,” he said, hand reaching out to wipe dirt off your cheek gently.
“Harwin,” you echoed.
“Can I ask you something?” Harwin asked a bit nervously, and you nodded. “Why did you say yes to coming with me? I know my reputation-.”
“I said yes because you’re not like other men. You asked me to hunt with you, not to watch you hunt. Your brother Larys speaks nothing but good things about you. You’ve been nothing but kind to me Harwin,” you said sincerely. It was Harwin’s turn to blush and he looked around quickly to make sure no one was watching. Leaning forward his hand came to cup your neck and for a moment you thought he was aiming for your lips but instead his lips pressed against your forehead in a sweet kiss, so delicate for someone nicknamed Breakbones.
“I will always be kind to you (Y/N), I will be by your side if you let me,” Harwin whispered as he stared longingly into your eyes.
“I want nothing more,” you whispered back before surging upwards to kiss him, not caring who saw. Little did you know your journey with him would not end there but your relationship would blossom and endure through a civil war of fire and blood. Ballads would be sung of his strength in battle and of yours in diplomacy and eventually dragon riding, and in the end your children would carry on the legacy of both your houses with pride and glory.
