Asteroid signe (459)

signy, heroine of the völsunga saga (asteroid 459)

Signy (sometimes written Signild or Signhild) was a rather popular Germanic name - two rather famous Signys exist in this mythic saga. One marries an evil king named Siggier who slaughters everyone in her family but her brother, Sigmund. Sigmund and Signy have an incestuous relationship that results in a son - Sigmund is then forced to hide from Siggier's wrath regarding this incident. To solve her husband's anger with her brother/lover and avenge her family Signy burns their home down with Siggier and her inside. The second Signy was closely related to Siggeir - she was the daughter of his nephew. This Signy fell in love with a king named Hagbard (sometimes written as Habor) - she was so in love with him that she vowed to never live without him. Her father did not approve of their relationship, and having a close relationship to King Siggier, he asked that Hagbard be killed. Hagbard was hanged and this Signy also set her home on fire and died. The second myth of Signy has a lot more to it but because we don't know which Signy this asteroid refers to. Thus I am sticking with the basics and keeping to the parts of the myths that somewhat align with one another. IN MY OPINION Signe in your chart can represent a) where those around you disapprove of your relationships, b) where you have secret affairs, c) where you refuse to live without love, and/or d) where you are willing to sacrifice yourself for the person you love the most.

Kinda hard to contemplate ffxiv characters while unsubbed from the game with no access to character creator and glams to try, but have had idea of a tall and imposing elezen/highlander on my mind for a few months... her name is Signe Gautier :-)

Like my other alt Varin she’s, to put it simply, chimerically fused with a voidsent. Though unlike Varin, very little remains of the consciousness that which used to be a voidsent before Signe defeated it and laid claim to its powers.

(If you can imagine Zenos, Vayne Solidor, Jeritza von FE3H, Mai in ATLA and Ushiyama in Golden Kamuy you’ll get a feel for her personality/demeanor as well as how she comes off to other people generally<3 lmao)

signe doesn't have many hobbies beside kill murder destroy etc. before meeting the girls she used to get into the common petty fight w random drunkards in the street, and she'd always be the first one to bring knives into the mix. she'd examine roadkill and try to determine how they died, and go to butcher shops just to admire the inherent violence.

nowadays, tho, she tones it down mostly for augustine and rodi's sakes. she goes along with whatever the group wants to to, but mostly likes to conduct experiments in astrophels lab with her, or generally just talk to her about mad scientist shit. she still beats up the occasional rando just for the sadistic thrill of it, but she can't get caught anymore now that she has friends on the line.

Hier j’ai désincrusté les marques à présent moisies du totem dépassé. L’une d’entre elle avait même commencé à creuser l’encoignure du fond de la tasse. 

Ce matin, j’aperçois d’autres inscriptions, celles-là encore floues, celles-ci une bigarrure de papillons qui volètent vers le sol d’un balcon. Je marche zombifiée, croise d’autres âmes en demi-sommeil passé ou à venir. 

Page blanche, j’attends les signes. Ballotée par le vent, telle la flopée de bourgeons désormais poussière, j’accueille le souffle et me console avec le souvenir du délice itératif qu’est la mise en terre.
