I bought my first ever ultrasonic humidifier. It is so dry in the apartment that my hands are cracking and turning red despite frequent lotion applications, and my plants are starting to look crusty around the edges. I made sure to buy a low tech one with a manual dial, because I also ordered an outlet hygrostat (turns current to the outlet on and off based on a humidity range you set). I hope it all works out, because although I hate dry skin and nosebleeds, I hate having mold in my walls even more
