I'm trying to start a movement here
[ID: The first 3 images are edited versions of the "Let's take ibuprofen together" meme. The captions now say "Let's read shoujo together". They each show a person holding their hand out to the viewer; a character from the series Benigyokuzui, Mob from Mob Psycho 100, and Jerma. / end ID]

as we enter the start of a semester and the dreaded Hour of Making Friends us upon us... if ur ever at a loss for what to say in one of those weird social situations where you only vaguely-know people, one of my favorite questions to ask is "what is your favorite food crime." a food crime is like the food combination that you love that other people find revolting. press them to take it further than pineapple on pizza, that's rote. food crimes is a good topic that has many benefits as it turns out all people are degenerates and also it will give you some cool ideas to try out later in the privacy of your own degenerate kitchen
the other good thing to ask is "okay but has anyone here ever been someplace haunted" bc it turns out if you ask most people directly they don't believe in ghosts, but many people are like "oh yeah i lived in a haunted house. ghosts aren't real tho"

Who the fuck were Lila's family? Her backstory in season 2 was that her parents are brits, but in this timeline she just has like 3 or 4 random american aunties and uncles and it's never explained? We're just expected to accept that she has this gaggle of family who are ready to babysit her plot device children.
And why are her and Allison the only one's who get other family members? it doesn't make sense and it feels like we were so cheated out of seeing the Hargreeves sruggle to fit in with whatever nuclear family dynamic this new timeline dumped them in

wanted to draw the girls from hunchback of notre dame 1 and 2 dancing cause they both have a red dress and i thought it would be cute
+ it always seemed likely to me that one of the triplets in beauty and the beast was only pretending to go along with her sisters... and due to that she’s good at playing a role but not so much at being herself so when she gets an interest in belle she suddenly turns real shy
do not erase the caption, use or rePOST my art (reblog ok)

Hi!
You were asking for warm feelings, so: When I was a kid, we visited the region, and the thing I remember most after woods like something out of Frost is the music. Not just Dolly Parton and Loretta Lynn, but the smaller folk music and dance performances we saw between national parks. (I still can't figure out how to make my feet move like that, and not for lack of trying!) I've always wanted to do it again as an adult.
I'm not from Appalachia, but reading your recent posts, I feel the same way about my own home that frequently tries to set fire to itself politically (Texas), and I find it reassuring and validating to read about your deep love for where your roots are. It's an increasingly rare thing, and while the scarcity of people of our frame of mind makes me sad, I'm also all the more appreciative of reading posts like yours when they come across my dash.
Way too often, when we talk about deterioration or instability in our homelands, we're told "just move." People don't understand how our souls are tangled up in the tree roots, echoed in birdsong, that we're part of the mist on the backroads and the rush of bats out of a cave like fucking Dracula. It takes a degree of bravery to let yourself become part of a place, even more to choose to remain that way--especially if you're vocal about it. So, rambling as this is, it's all to say hang in there, because your love for your land is a rare and beautiful thing.

i have to try so hard not to get upset when i have conversations with my family about love and sexuality because i know they will never understand anything outside of amatonormativity but fuck it hurts
being told that i will never have a best friend who will want to be with me forever because 'everyone will eventually leave because everyone wants to fall in love and build a family' just gets to me even though i know there are people who want that but it's just so hard to remember when no one in my life does

Hey. Hey. Speaking of Kaveh being like Kaeya mischaracterizations, I've come to a realization.
People say they want Kaeya and Diluc to be shippable instead of siblings because they want the dynamic, but the dynamic they describe isn't even theirs to begin with half the time; it's Kaveh and Al Haitham
huh anon yeah you might be onto something. admittedly i dont know exactly what the k*el*c people see as super romantic in the dynamic because i dont ever look at what they do i just block on sight. but if they want a friends to enemies to lovers sort of thing, then yeah kaveh and alhaitham have it all. to play devils advocate for one second though i guess you could argue that, oh, kaeya and diluc have a much more serious falling out and theres more angst and the stakes are higher all throughout their stories compared to kaveh and alhaitham who are just living in a college/university slow burn au, and thus the comparison made is stupid or whatever, i dont know. but im not the devils advocate and i dont care. so yeah i do think you're onto something
