the hunger games doesn't fall into the "a teenager rebels against the government and wins" genre despite what everyone is saying. it's really more complicated here. it's not just a teenage girl fighting the government. she had an entire army and adults behind her. an entire country is fighting the regime. the only reason people think it's another "A GIRL IN A MESSY BUN LEADS THE REVOLUTION" genre is because she is the face of the rebellion. if haymitch succeeded he wouldn't be a teenage boy rebelling. he had beetee, plutarh, wiress and mags behind him even when he was just trying to commit a rebellious act in the arena.

for example, harry potter kinda fits into this genre, because although it's not just himself that goes to fight, the adults are pretty useless. so it's more like "a bunch of teenagers go up against the government." while in the hunger games the adults actually do something. harry potter is the only one who can stop voldemort. katniss is not the only one who can stop snow. she even ends up not being the one who kills him.
