The Xa and how they grow. The brown-feathered kiddos past age of 1,5 are already able to fly somewhat. Xa don't show any sexual dimorphism, so there's only one Xa image for each life stage. Here's more about this sophont: https://www.tumblr.com/total-convergence/726112557515128832/tcxa

Comparison between Tovoxrans' first and current design! I think that now their design is more clear about its function and fits the ,,alien miner" vibe more.
Also I realised it looks like the chad vs virgin meme

This is a Willoh (short for "will-o'-the-wisp"), these pelagic squilloids live in the deep sea in large schools but at night travel up in the watern column following the movement of smaller animals and Altamiran zooplankton which they feed on.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
their bioluminescence not only confuses predators as they swim in large schools in the dark, but also as social signalling to let other Willoh know where they are, their schools can be millions strong and comprise a significant part of Altamira's marine biomass.

I've had this idea for gryphons for a while so I finally put it together. I'm just saying if anything was a lion-eagle it was dromaeosaurids.

Yes I know I am reposting my art (original post here), and in some irrelevant tags too (but they're places I hope to sell to). Since this piece has been a hit on other sites, I'm hoping to take the opportunity to calibrate my prices. Please spread this around if you can so I can get as much input as possible!

The Lancetfish is a species that looks like it comes straight out of a realistic fantasy world building project.

I finally (got help) slapping Wordpress into shape and Runaway to the Stars is now releasing as a public webcomic! Thank you so much for your support over the years, and sticking with me while I'm slowly chewing my way through this book. I'm very excited to share this story! It'll be updating every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday thanks to the massive Patreon backlog. Patreon will continue to update as I finish pages, which happens on a sporadic non-schedule.
If you experience bugs with the site report them to me. Some things may occasionally break, as coding problems tend to be a very "whack-a-mole" affair; and I'm still getting used to the interface.

The silver lily moonwalker (Lunambulans argenti) is a large insectoflorid native to the cold steppe of the Sunken Continent. Moonwalkers spent most of their lives buried up to their shoulders in mud or sandy soils in loose, semi-social groups known as bouquets. It displays a distinctly heliotropic behavior with its facial disk constantly trained on the sun through the course of the day. For approximately one week around the full moon, entire bouquets will travel by night to find new and more fertile rooting grounds.

A two for one post today.
Dragon posts for Smaugust.
The Maple Leaf Drake is a small to medium sized woodland dragon that populates聽temperate forests across the globe. Their unique body morphology allows them to hide, almost聽seamlessly, amongst vast maple forests. This physiological adaptation also extends to seasonal color changes throughout the year. They will live their lives hidden amongst the leaves, using their long聽proboscis bill to pierce through the bark of Maple Trees to extract the sweet sap, which makes up the majority of it鈥檚 diet.聽
Incredibly skittish, the Fearful Precious Red Coral Drake lives it鈥檚 life hidden amongst Red Coral. It鈥檚 long聽proboscis-like mouth snatching up small unsuspecting pray.聽

Minewolf 馃惡 馃馃Ж (Novacanis Liquidus Detonare) or Xittocoyotl "Large insectoid canines with a sharp explosion-proof exoskeleton. They carry and produce a blue liquid in their body akin to nitroglycerine which they eject to defend and attack. Whilst solitary they can group together like a wolf pack and excel at hunting.
Thanks to their unmatched sense of smell they鈥檙e able to detect hazards early, the odor of mines and other explosives even if in different states of matter, becoming incredibly useful to demine fields after undergoing training and domestication. This species can be avoidant of humans however but once trust is gained they may become loyal companions."

Some bovids of Lishel.
The western savanna is home to Keerso, Vans impala and, Tapper impalas. Keerso are one of the most populous animals in the area, leading to herds being domesticated for meat. Vans impala are seen as blessed animals, and killing them is looked down on.
The mountainous eastern coast is home Guinin, and Tapin. Both have been domesticated, wild populations still exist naturally. Guinin are often used in hauling due to their hefty builds. Tapin are fast, and sure footed. They can jump along tough terrain with ease and are often used for general transport. These species as historically important to the area.
