Ohio is such an insane state. It's like nothing happens here but everything happens here. We've got the most astronauts and are the state that shat out a general that almost burned South Carolina to the ground (William Tecumseh Sherman). Rock n roll's from here on a technicality. The Script Ohio. The Cleveland Museum of Art houses the infamous Boar Vessel, Etruscan, Ceramic. The "A Christmas Story" house is here, and Superman, and Dayglo paint. Nine Inch Nails, the Wright brothers, Gathering of the Juggalos, Chef Boyardee, Devo, Maynard James Keenan. There's a river that's caught on fire (Cuyahoga) so many times people've written songs about it. Cleveland's spawned more metal bands than any other city in America by a significant margin. The Serpent Mound. There are beautiful natural rock formations along the southern and eastern parts of this state that would make you tear up. Drew Carey, Neil Armstrong, Steven Spielberg, Thomas Edison, Paul Newman, Dave Grohl, and Guy Fieri are from here
But our politics are bad because we got gerrymandered for 20+ years so now Ohio's the butt of every weak internet joke

Can you please share this so people from the USA who follow/interact with you might see it? Claudia De la Cruz is a 2024 USA presidential candidate with the Party for Socialism and Liberation and she is actively trying to help Palestine. Thank you!
Of course!
"Claudia De la Cruz and Karina Garcia are running for President and Vice-President as the candidates of the Party for Socialism and Liberation. Claudia De la Cruz is a mother, popular educator and theologian born in the South Bronx who has spent her life organizing for justice for working people at home and to end U.S. empire abroad. i do not talk about politics online for a variety of reasons, top amongst them being that i think the most effective way to make an impact on someone's views is to have a one-on-one conversation with them. And i am personally most well versed in local politics because living in a conservative area means that i am fighting an uphill battle both ways trying to convince someone that actually the more liberal candidate is the one who is advocating for policies that will positively effect you, i promise, and i have to have specific instances i can cite as proof for these conversations to be really meaningful. but because of this specific way i engage with politics, sometimes i see posts on this webbed site that makes me go "why are you even talking. what are you aiming for. what do you Want."

"I voted for Biden last time and I've regretted it ever since"
No, sorry, no you fucking don't. Whatever disappointments you might have with the administration, you take for granted what a reprieve the last four years have been compared to the craziness of a second Trump term.
Stop pulling the "I'm black and from the south" card; Covid was killing your neighbors and Biden stopped it. You are a psyop; please go away.

i feel very voter-apathetic hearing the arguments about voting on here. i do think it's accurate that voting third party is effectively a vote for the republicans since we all know a third party candidate won't win, but that doesn't necessarily make me want to vote for joe biden. it's the lesser of two evils, but even so the evils are only lesser for americans. i could vote for biden so my dad might get student loan forgiveness, but no vote will make them stop killing palestinians. and that fact makes me cynical, makes me wonder if i should abstain or just outright vote for trump so the us can descend into an overtly fascist hellhole and people will finally do something, and america will die. but i don't think i could make myself vote for someone who would make things worse and kill people on purpose. so i'm between biden or third parties. maybe if people hate biden enough, the third parties could actually get a significant vote... but i'm sure people have thought that before, to no avail.
thoughts?

If anybody wants an update on the precariously-close-to-failed democracy of Ohio, the Republican supermajority is attempting to keep the sitting president off of the November ballot on a technicality they created (and have previously bypassed when convenient).
These are the same people that tried everything in their power to keep an abortion initiative off the ballot despite swearing up and down it wouldn't pass anyway because they totally represent the average Ohioan's opinion on this matter so they KNOW Ohioans are against abortion, and when the measure DID get put on the ballot and Ohioans DID vote to protect abortion, they immediately said "This isn't over," because fuck the people's will.
I've said it before and I will continue to scream it until I'm red in the fucking face:
One party isn't perfect, but they have shown they value the most basic tenets of representative democracy.
The other party is pulling out all the stops to ensure we are a "democracy" in theory only.

hearing someone talk about ow2 and they said “i think what blizzard did, that they cant ever come back from, is that they killed the hope of the players. its something very few games have ever actually done which is kill the hope that the players have that the game could ever be MORE than what it is.”
and i said damn why does that sound familiar… (looks at borderlands)

Shiroi Kumo - Solferino
"Hesitant, confidence, Athena's temple in greece, empathy, relief. You feel, and you feel, and you feel. Your heart might just beat out of your chest with how much you feel, and yet you hold onto nothing, as you live by the motto of "if you love something, let it go". You are someone who believes that good things come to those who wait - but in the same measure, you also believe in some level of karma. No one can outrun their just desserts, and everyone has done something they regret at some point in their lives. You're not different from the rest of the world, you just take it in stride. You love the world, in spite of its cruel indifference to itself. You love, and you love, and you love. you'll bleed to death from the ache of it."
