Entry for @glowweek day 1!

I'm a huge fan of raves and EDM, so when i saw the prompt "Glow" i couldn't help but think of the amazing glowing from blacklight, UV paint, and of course the glow bracelets that are at these shows!

I took inspiration from the scene of Steven and Connie dancing at Sour Cream's party in the episode "Alone Together" and also some colors from clips of various Porter Robinson Dj sets.

FORGOTTEN DIAMOND AUTHORITY:

Years after Steven left the gems, a disaster occurred in Homeworld where a black hole appeared out of nowhere in the skies, from which five lights were projected to the other end of the galaxy, this event is known as "The Blackhole Sparks". Given this, The Great Diamond Authority contact Steven again to decide what should be done, so they chose that the Crystal Gems would go on an expedition to the last point where those lights were seen landing; upon arriving they were surprised to find a new civilization of gems in the same and pure style of the Era I, where apparently the lights were Diamonds brought from an alternate dimension: Black (which hides a great secret), Purple, Green (which we're talking about), Orange and Brown (will be important believe me); the CG decided to infiltrate taking their old roles to learn that before everything these Diamonds were in another universe where they had a great empire and recognition, but the disaster made them lose everything except their Pearls (and maybe Spinels?) and they were brought to this reality resigning themselves to start from scratch

POWERS: Phytoanimation but not like Steven because it's much more powerful being through her mind, she also possesses standard gem abilities. Her aura acts as a fertilizer by making plants and logs flourish around those affected, preventing their movement; although if used positively it makes a plant armor grow on the gem that makes more resistant to attacks

COLONIES: Six planets with several moons in this universe, another three with also moons in her original universe which were lost thanks to the event mentioned before

GEM LOCATION: Left eye

HEIGHT: Taller than Blue and Yellow

PERSONALITY: Too elegant but also fashionista, creative and a little mysterious

Steven will spend a lot more time on Homeworld during his "diamond days" than any of them expected.

Rose really had no option outside of war when it came to saving earth. Pearl herself explained it, saying she had tried to reason with the diamonds, all that led to was the human zoo. She had no way to peacefully resolve it. If I recall correctly as well- Rose (and what can be assumed at least some of the other cgs) poofed homeworld soldiers and didn’t shattered, they were there to protect life.

She ran from homeworld because to her it was the equivalent of the abusive household. If she didn’t hide her identity who knows what the diamonds would’ve done to her. Sure, when they thought Steven was Pink, they welcomed him with opened arms, but that was after they thought she was a dead for thousands of years.

She is a complicated character who does have things to take accountability for but that doesn’t make her evil. She made mistakes, a large majority of them were earlier on, before she had a chance to change.

She never manipulated Pearl into staying, Pearl wanted to stay on her own, Pearl loved Rose. From the few conversations we’ve seen, we’ve seen Pearl wishing to have met Pink as a regular Rose Quartz- meaning she wanted to be there. We also see Rose tell Pearl they could never go back to homeworld, but Pearl didn’t care. Rose didn’t make Pearl do anything she wanted to be there.

Rose is not a character that is black and white, she’s allowed to have depth and nuance. She can grow and change as a person, it doesn’t matter if she’s fictional.
