Navigating the Digital Landscape: A Student's Guide to Staying Safe Online in the Era of Technology
In this age of ever-growing technology, social media plays a crucial role in our lives, transcending age and demographics. However, amidst the vast online world, ensuring your safety is paramount. Welcome to 'Student Voices: A High-Schooler’s Perspective,' where we explore essential tips for staying secure while surfing the Internet.
Let's begin with the public perspective. With millions using the Internet daily, have you ever considered what impression your social media profiles leave? While introducing yourself is fine, oversharing personal information can pose risks. Remember, sharing selectively is key to maintaining your online safety. Be cautious when chatting with others; there's no obligation to disclose personal details, especially to unfamiliar individuals. The online world harbours potential dangers, so exercise discretion in your interactions.
For a more private viewpoint, safeguarding against hackers, viruses, and unwanted attention is crucial. Changing your IP address regularly is a powerful security measure. While the exact process may be unfamiliar, basic steps like resetting your router or changing your location with a different connection can shake off trackers and cookies. Further exploration of this topic may follow in future blogs, but these initial steps can significantly enhance your online safety.
In essence, if you're uncertain about online safety, it's better to go offline. Avoiding the disclosure of personal information and being cautious in online interactions are fundamental practices. Changing your IP address should be common knowledge for all. Let's collectively prioritize our safety in the digital realm.

My New Approach to Getting Paid to Look at Art
2022 is the year we get paid because there has to be something better than wondering when the next paycheck will come in. In 2022, we're leveling up and taking the leap- Who's with me?✋🏾
So I’m sort of in a pickle between wanting a career and wanting to retire in my 20s. It would work out if I worked on Wall Street or the sciences because I can find funding as a Black woman in STEM but not so much in Humanities as a graduate student. I’m making it in the art world so young and immediately see the challenges many of us in the liberal arts face, and several have overcome before me-…

As you think about hiring for 2020 and beyond, please don’t build teams with similar traits and backgrounds. Focus on hiring folks with similar virtues and principles like integrity, curiosity, and honesty. Different personalities and experiences accelerate creativity and new ideas for innovation. The reality is any transformation takes the right team who can trust each other and empathize. This is tucked deep in who a person is and how they interact with others and the world on the most basic level. This magic may not show up in a box you check when hiring. Just a morning reflection~> all the best everyone. #technology #supplychain #supplychainmanagement #studentvoices #supplychainqueen #business #management #humanresources #marketing #digitalmarketing #branding #hiring #womeninstem #womenintech #diversity #sustainability #jobs #innovation https://www.instagram.com/p/B7qPKAwH6hQ/?igshid=1rceubhhzelnv

What I’m Reading
Recently I finished "Inspired: Slaying Giants, Walking on Water, and Loving the Bible Again" by Rachel Held Evans. I consider myself a progressive Christian and have struggled over the past few years to reconcile my faith and lived experience as a Christian with traditional or conservative interpretations of the Bible. This book playfully re imagines biblical stories and chronicles the author's own struggle to love the Bible. It's a light and fun quarantine read, but it also helped me find some answers to questions I had been grappling with for years.
