My local queer bookstore is being threatened with eviction over their free narcan and fentanyl test strips, free store for the unhoused, and free narcan trainings.

Bluestockings is an incredible worker-owned community space that has been apart of the Lower East Side for 25 years. But in the last couple years, they've faced increasing harassment from the wealthier neighbors moving in and complaining about the presence of unhoused people around their store front. Despite all their community work being allowed by their lease, the landlord is pushing for an eviction.

Please help support Bluestockings! Visit them (if you're local), order books online, donate! We need more queer and community-oriented spaces, not another overpriced coffee shop or chain franchise.

It will run for 30 days, until October 28th 2023.

In the effort to be as transparent as possible with animation fun stuff, here's a pie chart breakdown for the costs for Ep 3 of Monkey Wrench. (which is out VERY SOON)

I'm able to do all the storyboards, designs and backgrounds and a majority of the animation myself (because I'm insane), if I were unable to do so then costs could EASILY burst past $100K+

The sad reality of the situation is;

Money = Thing getting made.

No money = Thing not getting made.

So please, if you're able, support indie projects if you want to see new interesting stories come to life.

Nanowrimo Check In Day #5

Day Five Target: 12,500 Words

Actual Word Count: 12,728 Words (And counting)

The problem with these check in's is that I've still got several hours of writing left to go! But I guess that's the nature of the beast.

I feel like all I keep saying is "So far, so good", but it's a good metric for this Nanowrimo. I was hoping to have a day or two's buffer at this point, but my daily target of 2,500 words is on the upper end of what I can consistently write day after day, so I'll take what I can get.

Right now I'm sitting at 12,728 words, and my goal for day five was 12,500, so I'm on par and I'm happpy with that. Especially considering, at the time of posting, I still have about three hours left to write today.

The next check in is on day ten, and if I'm lucky I'll have a dragged the manuscript a little ahead of target, but day ten is also breaking into Hell Week, otherwise known as Nanowrimo week two, so I guess we'll see where the journey takes us.

Signalis Fan Art!!! - It was my brothers birthday recently and he really loves this game (and he's the reason I played it in the first place), so I thought I would make him a poster since unfortunately Signalis Merch is limited.
