The morning light snuck into the room. Beams of light illuminating the room. Enough brightness to disturb your sleeping eyes. Humming softly, you tossed and turned a bit. Feeling a sudden loss at something. Patting your hand around on the matrass to find her. Groaning soft, you hated having a king size bed. You rather had a smaller bed so you wouldn’t lose her. You kept patting your hand around till it got lifted up. – “I’m right here.” – Susan replied lowering your hand on her head for you to feel her. Smiling with your eyes still closed, you rolled over to the side.
Letting your other hand join Susan’s body, pulling her closer to you. Susan helped you a bit, moving to you. Your arms went around her, pulling her as tight as you could against your chest. Exhaling relieved to have her in your arms again. Susan’s arms were around you as well. Susan let her chin rest on top of your head. Snuggling underneath the sheets. Susan had a smile on her lips. – “I do have to get up.” – she muttered out, rubbing your back. – “Five more minutes.” – you replied listening to her heartbeat. Susan giggled loud, giving you a playful slap against your back.
“I have duties to attend.” – she explained. – “Your duty is with me, your majesty.” – you told her, rubbing your forehead against her chest. All snuggled up against her. Susan laughed once more. – “I’m afraid that excuse won’t count.” – she said hearing you groan annoyed. Susan shoved you a bit back to have a glimpse of your face. Your pouty lips making her laugh. – “I’ll tell the High-king, you were indisposed. Emergency?” – you told her. Susan cupped your cheeks, slipping her leg between yours.
“How I wish you could, but this is important.” – she let out, giving you a kiss afterwards. Susan let go of you, slipping out of bed. You groaned loud, rolling on your back to stare at the ceiling with your arms wide open. – “Oh don’t be such a baby Y/n.” – Susan said grabbing a pillow, throwing it at you afterwards. The impact made you close your arms, legs pulled up. Moving the pillow aside, you rolled onto your stomach.
Watching her get dressed. – “Tell me what is on the agenda oh Queen Susan the gentle.” – you called out, receiving a glare from her. Chuckling a bit, you pulled a pillow underneath you for support. – “Well there is the morning report. The gathering with the archers. The kings council…” – she listed pacing around to count on her fingers.
Keeping her focus on getting it all right in the right order. You puffed loud as it caught her attention. – “And when does the queen have time for her loving subjects?” – you asked her. Susan’s brow quirked up. – “and with loving subject, you mean yourself?” – she teased.
You nodded jumping up to your feet on the bed. Susan chuckled softly finishing preparing herself. You jumped out of bed, coming over to her. – “I mean you must pay attention to your subjects.” – you told her, placing your hands on her shoulders as she sat in front of the vanity. Susan looked up at you through the mirror.
“You are no mere subject Y/n.” – she told you, turning around. Taking your hand in hers, she left a soft kiss on them. – “You are my long becoming friend and partner now.” – she reminded you. – “Without you I don’t know if I would’ve been so brave. Not with the white witch, not with Midas…”
With tears in your eyes, you wrapped your arms around her. – “Liar, you are the bravest person I know. You are only saying to please me.” – you cried out, hugging her tight. – “I am not.” – Susan replied with a smile, patting you on the back to give her some breathing area. Sniffling loud, you pulled away. Seeing the tears in your eyes, she looking amusingly with sympathy at you.
Letting a finger brush against your cheek to make you snap out of it. – “Perhaps you should get dressed too.” – Susan said pointing at your nightgown. You looked down at yourself, snorting loud. You ran to the closet, pulling out your cloths as Susan finished up. Hand in hand, the two of you roamed the halls of Cair Paravel. Subjects bowing their heads at the sight of their queen.
The doors got opened to the throne room. Susan’s siblings already present. You walked Susan up to her throne next to Peter’s. Susan gave you kiss, saying her goodbyes. She then went to sit on her throne. – “Y/n.” – Peter greeted you with a nod. – “High-King Peter.” – you replied with a curtsy. You then curtsied before Susan, Edmund and Lucy as well.
Susan gave you a sympathetic smile with a little wave gesture before you made your way down the steps. Leaving the throne room. As the doors closed on you, you saw the bison approach the kings and queens for the morning report. Sighing loud, you didn’t like being away from Susan. It was like you couldn’t think without her or figure out what to do. Stepping away, you went outside knowing what her second topic of on the agenda was.
Sitting on a rocky wall, kicking your feet back and forth. Waiting patiently for Susan to pass by. You knew she had to pass here to get to the archery area. The sun just warm enough on your skin. Puffing loud, you hoped it wouldn’t take much longer. Missing her already. It was something you couldn’t help.
Ever since being separated from your family because of the war, you developed this need for reassurance that anyone was always close by. That anyone being Susan. Meeting her first at the professor’s house. Following along to Narnia. Susan went from strangers to friends to lovers. It took a while since it wasn’t accustomed for two girls to be in love.
Back at home it might have been a problem, but in Narnia it never is. Free to love whoever you like. Sudden footsteps made you lift your chest up. Smiling hard at the sight of Susan. There was a second of surprise on her face, before it settled to a smug stare. – “Have you been waiting for me Y/n?” – she asked as you jumped off the stone wall.
“Yes. A Queen needs an escort to her next agenda point right?” – you told her, locking your arm with hers. – “Alright escort me.” – Susan replied. You led her down, further away from the castle. Not far from you were knights practicing their swords skills. You arrived at the tent, opening the flap to her. – “There arrived safely.” – you said. Susan curtsied at you as a thank you. Letting her hand rest against your cheek, she stole another kiss from you. – “Will you wait for me?” – she asked. – “As long as I need.” – you told her. Susan disappeared into the tent as you waited outside. Kicking at some rocks to pass the time.
The tent flaps opened once more as Susan and the archers walked out. She was still talking, leading them to the practise court. It intrigued you, so you snuck closer to them. Keeping your distance. The archers stood with their backs at you, listening carefully at their commander. Susan stood by the practice targets. You far behind the wooden fences.
Lifting your body a bit up, you admired her from afar. Susan’s gaze fell on you mid-sentence, making her pause briefly.  Needing a bit of attention to pick up on her speech. You came leaning on the fence, blowing on a flower. Susan suddenly laughed, the archers looking confused at her. Widening her eyes, she cleared her throat excusing her little outburst. Trying not to pay much attention to you, she finished her speech.
The archers nodded as she parted ways with them. – “You made me laugh.” – was the first she said. – “I didn’t do anything.” – you told her confused. – “I know.” – she answered teasingly, taking your hand once more. Escorting her to the kings council. Knowing you couldn’t be present or anywhere near it, you said your goodbye’s and returned to your quarters.
Waiting eagerly and yearningly for Susan to return. Laying mindlessly on the bed. Staring out onto the sea. Cleaning up a bit. Anything to make time go faster. The door opened making you lift your head up. Susan stumbled exhausted into the room. Gasping loud, you got up, running up to her. – “My dearest Susan, look at you.” – you said giving her a hand for support.
You led her to the bed, letting her sit down. Susan let herself fall back with an exhausting sigh. – “I am drained.” – she let out, letting an arm fall over her face. You came sitting beside her, looking briefly up to the ceiling. – “Than you must need healing.” – you told her. Susan intrigued, moved her arm up with a smirk. Both of you laughed crawling further onto the bed. Snuggling against each other.
Facing each other to embrace the other one as purely as possible. – “Please tell me no more attendances?” – you asked her. Susan shook her head as her chest rubbed against your forehead. – “No more, just you and me.” – she told you. Lifting your head up, you smiled at her. – “My favourite moment of the day.” – telling her with the most lovable gaze. Susan looked down on you, smiling before her lips crashed onto yours. Kissing you deeply with all the love she had for you. Finally able to relax after a long and exhausting day.

a/n: this has been in my requests for god knows how long, i do apologise for only getting to it now. i did change it up a bit from what anon originally requested, hope that's okay!
Tumblr media
How do you make two obviously in love individuals realise their feelings for each other when the said two individuals are also too oblivious for their own good?
That was the same question Peter had going on in his head.
It has been too long.
Way too long since his little brother — Edmund, admitted he has feelings for Y/N — someone he has grown close to over the years, who also happens to be Edmund’s best friend since forever. Also including the fact that same Y/N did the exact same thing Edmund did, only a week later.
Some would say that Peter is in a huff. Jaw clenched and eyebrows furrowed as he walks down the halls of the castle towards the library. A bit too niche of a topic for him to be in a huff about — but he's only human after all, and only wants happiness for the two. Gratefully, as a king, he can hide the reason behind his frustration by blaming his duties — claiming they were starting to get too much. People seem to buy it, except for two.
“Peter, are you alright? You’ve been sighing like a mad man since you sat down.”
Lucy’s question only had the young king sighing again, not missing the way Lucy and Susan shared a glance before him.
“It’s those two,” he answers, nodding towards the two figures who had seemed to tuck themselves against each other under one of the castle’s big library shelves.
Both Lucy and Susan follow Peter’s gaze, faux fatigue lacing their shoulders as they watch Y/N and Edmund share fond looks to each other as they immerse into a novel. Y/N was holding the book, conveniently keeping it up between the two of them to read. Edmund had himself stood as support for the young girl who had relaxingly rested upon his chest, his arm behind her — flat against the surface to keep his weight on, allowing both of them to stay upright.
It would be a moment for couples — only if they were one.
“Who do you think will confess first?” Lucy loudly wondered. Although, not too loud to pop the bubble Edmund and Y/N had themselves in. Peter hummed, suddenly alert as if he wasn’t just huffing a few minutes ago. His sisters looked at him, eyes waiting for him to say something.
“What? Isn’t it obvious? I’m sure Y/N will say something first.”
Susan silently scoffs, mouth opening as if someone had just offended her. “Don’t think so lowly of Edmund, would you? I know it’s going to be him.”
Tumblr media
“Ed, do you know what colours Peter’s planning for this year?” the young woman asks as she welcomes herself into Edmund’s bedroom. Upon hearing no answer and only the sounds of water running, she assumes he’s still busy giving himself a wash. Thinking he’ll be taking a while, she sits on the four-poster — fussing herself around as she gets comfortable, crossing her legs underneath herself. Relaxing in her seat, she opens the book she had on her hold — continuing where she had left off.
Getting herself lost in the plot, she fails to realise the sound of water stopping nor the fact that Edmund had come out of the washroom and had asked a question himself. It was only when the mattress beneath her dipped did she look up from her page, seeing Edmund looking fresh — wet hair dripping all over his sheets. “You’re not laying down with wet hair, are you?” Y/N asks, eyes narrowing at the sly smile growing on Edmund’s face. “No.” he simply answered, further provoking her as he slowly ascends on to his pillows.
Y/N only sighs, rolling her eyes as she stands up from her position to grab the stray towel the boy had half-mindedly discarded. “Come on,” she says, tapping his thigh lightly, “this way you won’t be waking up tomorrow, complaining about a mind-blowing head ache you have.”
Edmund scoffs at her dramatics, swinging his legs off to the edge of the bed. Y/N settles herself between his thighs, hands under the towel as she carefully dries Edmund’s hair.
He sighs, eyes closing and his hands making its way to her waist. He keeps them there, finding himself getting drowsy at the feeling of Y/N’s fingers through his hair and the soft humming she emits. “I like it when you dry my hair for me,” he whispers, eyes still closed. Y/N laughs softly, giving his hair once last swipe before putting the towel aside. Combing the strands lightly, she finishes her routine with a soft kiss to his head. “I know you do.”
Tumblr media
“You’ve really outdone yourself this year, Pete! The party’s amazing!”
Peter laughs, amused at the unnecessary volume Y/N spoke. “I can hear you perfectly you know. No need to shout,” he teases, laughing again at the pout forming on her lips. “Do you know where Edmund went?! I’ve been looking for him all night, I have something to say to him!”
His eyes widen at the girl’s question. Could this finally be it?
As if on cue, Edmund presents himself — although a bit tipsy himself, not as much as Y/N is though. “What’s going on?”
“Ed!” she squeals, wrapping her arms around Edmund’s torso. The boy manages to catch himself from falling, giggling to himself as he too reciprocates the hug. “Oh dear, how many have you had?”
Y/N removed herself from Edmund, hands on her hips as she appears to be deep in thought. Edmund looks at his brother for an answer, only that Peter remains silent. Raising his arms halfway up in the air feigning innocence. She suddenly gasps in her place, quickly spinning around to face Peter. “You gave me two! And then… I think I grabbed another two. And maybe… Idunnoanymore, Ithink…” her words began slurring into each other, earning a chuckle from both brothers. Edmund feels himself slowly sobering up at her antics, wrapping an arm around her waist to steady her. “It’s bed time, don’t you think?”
“No… nonono, notyet—”
Peter remains silent from where he had stood himself, not before moving a little further away from where the pair were standing. He watches as Edmund remains calm, a dopy smile on his face as he dotes on you and your blabbing. He mentally pats himself on the back, triumph enveloping him as he hopes his initial plan of getting you together (finally) happens.
Tumblr media
“Come on, my love, just a few more steps…” Edmund encourages, guiding his very drunk girlfriend back to his bedroom in one piece.
One day he’ll get Peter’s head for this.
As soon as the door opens — Y/N escapes Edmund’s grasp, almost catapulting herself onto the bed. She relaxes herself, taking a few deep breaths in before sitting back up. “Do you think… they know?” she hiccups, eyes barely open to look at Edmund.
Edmund feels his heart swell at the sight, his eyes giving nothing but love as he slowly helps Y/N get ready for bed. “I don’t think so,” he begins, wiping a damp wash cloth over her face – a hand gingerly placed under her chin to keep her from swaying. “But I do think Peter wants us to quicken up a bit, be together officially. Maybe that’s why he gave you too many to drink.”
She lets out a small huff, a pout on her lips. “But we already are together, Ed. It’s not our fault they remain oblivious.”
“I know, my love. What about we tell them tomorrow? How does that sound? Surprise them during breakfast, hm?”
Y/N laughs, a sound never failing to sound like music to Edmund’s ears. “That’s… good…” yawns break her words apart. Edmund slowly guides her to lay down, ensuring his actions are not too sudden for her to suddenly feel nauseous. “Let’s go to bed then, now, shall we?”
Not even finished with his sentence and Y/N’s were already closed, hands tugging onto the blankets to snuggle herself in further. Edmund smiles, standing up from where he perched onto the edge of the bed to now get himself ready. Right as he enters the washroom, a question is suddenly asked.
 “Ed, are you even drunk?”
He just laughs, not having the heart yet to tell you that he had caught on to Peter’s game very early on to the night. Not that he can for your soft snores had followed your question aright after.

I really don't want this Narnia series........ because I don't like the idea of someone else playing the love of my life. Like I trust Greta (now) to make the series something wonderful.....but Peter was fine as he was being played by William!!! Same with all the other characters, like those movies were part of early 2000s magic and to redo them just seems like they're going to mess it up (same with the hp series).
But also Peter was and still is my ult crush. I don't want someone else other than William to portray him.... because as much as I liked the book version of Peter, William is the reason I love Peter.

“The White Witch is coming. You all must work on your skills.” Aslan told the young Kings and Queens.
“Will you teach us?” Lucy asked walking closer to Aslan as they followed him to their tent.
“We all will young one. I do have someone in mind to teach you all different things.” Aslan answered Lucy with a heart felt chuckle.
“Who?” Susan asked once they stopped walking, wondering who the loin had in mind.
Aslan turned to face the children before answering the older girl. “She is skilled in everything you all will need to know, no matter the situation at hand.”
“A girl?” Edmund asked pulling a face and for that Peter smacked him upside the head.
“We would love to learn from her.” Peter smiled apologetically to Aslan on behalf of his brother.
“Agreed.” Lucy and Susan said at the same time also smiling.
“Yeah, whatever.” Edmund mumbled rubbing the back of his head.
Aslan gave a nod. “Then you’ll all start tomorrow. As for now, get some rest. You’ll all need it.”
^ ^ ^
“I see you all are ready.” Aslan said as he approached the field he had them escorted to.
“We are.” Susan nodded, she was ready to learn.
“Good, Your teacher should be here soon.” Aslan stated before looking around to see her figure coming through the mountains. “An there she is.”
A girl around Peter and Susan’s age came down the hill on a beautiful black stallion. As she got closer her features became more apparent and Peter, well Susan had to nudge him to close his mouth.
“Hey, I hope you all weren’t waiting to long.” Y/n smiled sheepishly as she dismounted her horse.
“Nonsense, Y/n.” Aslan smiled at the young warrior. He had known her, her entire life. Seeing the girl always brought a smile to his face. He knew she was the perfect one for this. “Y/n this is Lucy, Edmund, Susan, and Peter.”
Y/n smiled giving a gentle wave. “Nice to meet you all.”
“Children this is Y/n. She’ll be the one teaching you all.” Aslan explained as he also introduced them.
“Its nice to meet you.” Susan spoke up since Peter couldn’t stop staring. She reached out and the to shake hands.
“Likewise your majesty.” Y/n smiled.
“Please just call us by our names.” Lucy smiled at the older girl, enjoying the energy she let off.
“Yes, please.” Susan nodded in agreement with Lucy’s statement.
“As you wish.” Y/n nodded agreeing to what they had asked. “Shall we get started?”
With that Y/n started showing them different things. Such as knife throwing, basic field first aid, archery, and now sword fighting.
“You should introduce yourself personally.” Susan suggested to Peter as she walked over to stand next to him. The two watched Y/n teach Lucy ways for her to use a sword at her weight and height disadvantage.
“Should I?” Peter genuinely asked.
Susan nodded smiling at him, she had never seen Peter so into a girl before. “You like her. I can tell. Hell, it’s obvious Peter.”
“That obvious?” Peter grimaced smiling shyly.
“Yes. But it seems she is oblivious to it.” Susan nodded towards the Y/h/c-ed girl a few feet in front of them. “Go for it.”
Once the two siblings were done talking they noticed it was Peter’s turn now that Lucy was done. How convenient.
“Hey, Peter right?” Y/n asked smiling up at the blonde as he approached her for his turn.
“Yeah. Y/n right?” Peter smiled nodding at her. He noticed that he had done a lot of smiling around her today.
“Yeah.” Y/n let out a light laugh at the boy's words. How they mimicked her own. Y/n looked up at Peter with a smile. “You ready Peter?”
“Absolutely.” He nodded pulling out his sword.
“They’d be cute together.” Lucy giggled nudging Susan whose face matched Lucy’s.
“They would be.” Susan agreed
Aslan chuckled deeply standing next to the young women.
“What's so funny?” Lucy asked Aslan smiling mischievously at the loin.
Alsan smiled over at the two and they could tell he knew a lot more than he let on. “There are many prophecies for the daughters of Eve and the sons of Adam.”
Susan squinted her eyes before asking. “Are you saying that who we end up with is also prophesized?”
Aslan nodded with a hum. “Part’s of them, yes.”
“So are Y/n and Peter?” Lucy wondered out loud smiling over towards Peter and Y/n’s direction.
“Yes young one, they are. But let’s keep that between us for now.” He gave Lucy and Susan a knowing look. The girls couldn’t help but smile at eachother. They wouldn’t tell their brother but they couldn’t wait to watch their love story play out.

MY Narnia hyper fixation coming back in 2024 the year of our lord and Savior Aslan- Jesus Christ? Yes, very likely.
This is just a small what if mixed with AU prince Caspain movie
Narnia; What if Peter had a Spouse
Gn significant other for Peter
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I am an enthusiast of angst so I cannot help to think about how many lovers Lucy and Edmund probably left behind in Narnia( I usually imagine Lucy being pan and poly and Edmund being bi since I mean we all saw the movies 😏 bombastic side eye!) what if Susan had been engaged to a good man who cared for her and it was a good alliance, someone she saw herself loving some day and of course if Peter had been married.
It was a normal day in Cair Paravel when the Siblings never came back from their hunt. Peters's spouse was hosting the weekly tea with their sibling's partners when a frantic fawn ran into the room to inform them that the kings and queens had disappeared
how Peter's spouse was the person everyone else went to when the Pevensies didn't show up after a week, and how they were now in charge of Narnia since they were now King/ Queen Regent.
How they have to deal with the distraught significant others of the Pevensies and have to watch Lucy's girlfriend/s searching high and low, sky and sea's for her but never finding anything until they give up in the one year anniversary of their disappearance.
Edmunds significant other shutting themselves, starting to miss the weekly tea and lunch peters has been holding for years now and then just stop coming over to the palace at all and avoiding everyone until they aren’t heard of again.
And the worst of it all dealing with the fallout of Susan’s engagement.
A man whom everyone learned to care for and came to see as a friend turned cruel and unreasonable, demanding Peter’s spouse marry him in retribution so his kingdom would continue its alliance with Narnia.
Peters's spouse is so overwhelmed not able to decide if they should accept or not, On one hand, they still hold hope their spouse and siblings would come back but on the other, they were the only protector left of Narnia which meant they had to do everything in their power to protect their subject and do what was best for the kingdom. Finally, Oreius is the one to hold a meeting with everyone close to the Royal family to talk to Peter's spouse and make them see Peter nor Susan would expect them to marry, and neither did any of the Narnians who loved their ruler, the one who stayed and has been taking care of them.
They finally reach a decision to reject the marriage proposal and offer instead a trading alliance between the kingdoms. It's accepted but no one ever sees Susan's ex-betroth in Cair Paravel again.
Later that same year Peter's spouse receives a visit from none other than Aslan himself. They are sitting on the beach having what they remember Edmund calling an existential crisis, their guards are away at a respectable distance when they feel someone sitting next to them and when they look there he is, in all his glory- Aslan.
The lion sits and listens to the current ruler of Narnia cry their heart out offering a small nudge hoping to give some comfort. Once they have calmed down Aslan lays down next to them and observes the sunset, and as the sun hits the water on the horizon he finally speaks.
" They are destined to come back," he says and turns to look at them.
Peter's spouse looks up at Aslan, " What?"
" As you heard my child," he replies eyes never leaving the horizon, " The kings and Queens are destined to be back but," he stops turning his head, and looks them in the eyes. " not for years and years to come"
"I'll be gone by then," they say knowing what Aslan hinted at.
" And they will be lost," he says, " confused and scared."
" Is there a way I can..." they speak, not really understanding what they are asking but knowing in their heart, that they are asking for a second chance.
" There is," Aslan said, hesitation in their tone," but it will cost you greatly. "
They waited for more still looking at Aslan.
The lion sighed, " If you wish to wait for them, I can help with that but you would leave Narnia without a ruler. I could freeze your body and send you into a deep sleep only to be awakened when the rightful rulers of Narnia are back."
It dawns on them for a moment before accepting.
They make preparations and a council is placed in line for when the spell is to take place. They say their goodbyes to everyone, their family and friends, and their most loyal guards, a small order is formed that will take care of them in their slumber; The order of the Firebird.
They lay down in a bed full of their favorite flowers and all their friends are their surround them, Aslan walks in and whispers something to them and then gently blows in their face and they are swept into a dreamland.
Years pass and wars happen, by the time of Prince Caspian thousands of years have passed, and many orders of the Firebird have come and gone but always to come back loyal to their ruler and cause.
It's a calm morning in spring when a gasp is heard from the bed where the enchanting Ruler of old Narnia resides. They sit up in the bed and gasp for air as they hold their throat.
It's time, they look around their room confused since this looked nothing like their chambers in Cair Paraval,
as they tried to stand up their knees give in and they crashed to the floor thats when some guards came running in, guards that looked nothing like their friends who they last saw.
“ Your Majesty!” they all exclaimed rushing to their side and helping them up.
“Thank you” They thanked the guards softly as they hold on to them, feeling their body so when suddenly their was a paused in the air, the unspoken fact, they were back- Peter was back. The guards looked expectenly at them waiting for an other or something. They shoved their hands into the pocket in their outfit taking out a golden firefly that immediately glowed and shot into the sky waiting for the party to follow it.
“Lets find our Kings and Queens” they spoke with a huge smile.
In a hurry the guards prepared horses and cavalry to escort them and find the Kings and Queens, ridding in a centaur who claimed to be a descendant of  Oreius,  they learn that it had been years- thousands actually, they were currently at war and that most of the hope had been lost, the order of the Firebirds and the rebellion were the last of what remained of old Narnia.
The firefly finally arrived at the destination from the back of Andreas- the centaur who kindly offer to let them ride in their back- they could see a bunch of Narnian’s and… humans, humans who looked exactly like their husband and siblings, a human who was holding Peters sword, a human with the same golden hair that they had run their fingers through every night.
It was him, their husband, their king, it was..
“PETER!” They shouted jumping out of the centaurs back and landing in the ground not caring about falling or tripping, their only goal to reach their husband. Peter turns around not caring about the man infront of him and runs in their direction.
Their small guard follows them swiftly, banners and swords drawn surrounding the stranger who has their sword drawn on their King, protecting them.
Peter reaches them first and hugs them arms around their shoulders, heart beating threatening to burst out of his chest and gripping into the material of their cloths.
“ You are here,” They whisper and sobs.
Peter is in tears and tightens the grip on them. “ So are you.”
They separate from the hug and they caresse Peters's face, tears running down their faces matching Peters. “ You look just like the day we met,” They say softly and chuckle a bit.
Peter sobs and nuzzles into their palm, “ And you look just like the day I lost you.”
-
here it is everyone! hope you enjoyed it! it's a small thing that has been in my mind since I was literally a child. I might develop the idea more but it would be with an actual character but I wanted to put it out to the world first as something anyone can see themselves or their character in!

Peter didn't understand what Caspian had just told him. Or he didn't want to understand. He walked over to the cold stone wall where the Narnians had depicted the image of a warrior. A woman stood surrounded by soldiers and held a sword over her head. Peter ran his fingers over the rough wall and wiped away a layer of dust, allowing the colors to shine brighter.
— The tutor told me that she became queen after you left Narnia. Her reign was short-lived. When the Telmarines declared war, Queen Y/N tried to negotiate with them, as she understood that Narnia would not be able to win. But she didn't succeed, — Caspian's voice grew quieter with each sentence. He looked from Peter to the rest of the Pevensies, — this image illustrates how she, with a small detachment, detained the Telmarines while the Narnians were fleeing into the woods.
— Unfortunately, no one returned from Cair Paravel that day, — Trufflehunter said.
There were tears in Lucy's eyes. She clung to Susan for support. The elder sister felt despair. It was so hard for Susan to realize that her friend was gone. Just a year ago, they were choosing a dress for a wedding, planning for the future, and now… Edmund looked at Peter. He looked calm enough. Not a single emotion showed on his face. Ed thought at first that maybe Peter hadn't heard, but no, Peter had heard everything. His heart just collapsed in one moment. This can't be true! Despite all the pain that swept over the king, he did not give himself the opportunity to show weakness.
— And where was she buried? — Peter's voice sounded very rough and cold.
— As far as I've heard, the Narnians have never been able to find her body, — Trufflehunter said, — but we remember her during the full moon of the second summer month.
When evening came, Peter went out into the fresh air. The sun had almost set below the horizon and the forest was plunged into darkness. It was very quiet. Peter sat down on a rock that stood nearby. When he returned to Narnia, all he thought about was meeting you again, seeing your smile and feeling the warmth of your embrace. He hoped that you would be alive, that you would find a way to be with him again. It seemed that his hopes were dashed at the moment when Trufflehunter said that you had not returned. Annoyance, anger, and despair filled Peter's heart. He must take revenge on the Telmarines for what they did to the Narnians and to you.
The King took a small ring from his breast pocket. It was quite simple: gold, with a small green gemstone. This is the ring he wanted to give you after the wedding. He imagined how charming it would look on your finger. All this time, while he was in England, Peter kept him, in memory of you, so as not to forget his promise to be there and protect. He was hoping to come back, give it to you and make you his queen. He was only afraid that you wouldn't accept him at the age he is now. As it turned out, this was the least of the problems.
Even though everyone kept telling him that you were gone, Peter couldn't help but believe that he would see you. He just didn't want to believe that you would disappear from his life so easily. If he needs to fight thousands of Miraz’s soldiers, he is ready to do it. He is ready to challenge all the villains of Narnia, just to see your eyes again. Now this ring was the only reminder of you. It would have been easier to throw him out, to leave these feelings behind, but he couldn't and didn't want to. If he has to live his whole life in pain, then he will be glad, because this pain is the only thing that connects you and him. He was High King of Narnia, Emperor of the Lone Islands, Lord of Cair Paravel, Knight of the Most Noble Order of the Lion, but he never had the strength to come to terms with the circumstances.
Peter looked up at the night sky, which was already strewn with stars. Tears rolled down from his eyes. If only he could have come back earlier…

summary: being the king's and queen's advisor came with many surprises
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Your arrival to Narnia had been fortunate for the King’s and Queen’s reign. You had arrived one fateful day, after having fallen asleep on your backdoor patio while reading. When you eventually woke up, you were not in your patio anymore, instead a tall figure mounted on a horse stood a few feet away from you. He was wearing a silver shimmering crown that glowed as the sun hit it. You immediately shuffled back as you tried to get as far away as possible from the man in front of you.
“Don’t be afraid,” the man said as he dismounted his horse.
That didn’t stop you from being very much afraid. You couldn’t bring yourself to say anything, so instead you frantically dragged yourself backwards while simultaneously trying to reach out for a stick or something you could defend yourself with.
“No- stop that, I wont hur-” the man started, however, his words were cut short as you pointed a branch at him. He simply raised his hands in a bored way, prompted by his actions you stood up, without lowering your weapon.
“Can I talk now?” he asked.
“Where am I?” you replied.
“You’re in Narnia,” he said. Up close, and without the sun blinding you, you could see that he was actually rather handsome. He had dark brown hair, kind blue eyes, and a sharp jawline. He was dressed in weird clothes -beautiful, but weird-, he wore a thick dark green cape that was embroidered with intricate silver patterns over a white silk shirt, and brown trousers. Overall, he exuded an air of regency, (which could be mostly given by the fact that he was also wearing a crown), however, you would not allow yourself to lower your guard.
His reply only prompted more questions. How could you have fallen asleep in your garden, and have woken up in the forest?
“Have I been kidnapped?” you asked.
The man laughed, and he lowered his hands, to which you jolted your stick at.
“Put that down, will you, if I had wanted to harm you, I would’ve already done it”, he said, as he swiftly swept his cape away, so that a seathed sword came into view.
“I really don’t understand how that is reassuring,” you replied, the branch not leaving your firm grip.
He sighed and just extended his hand. You eyed it for a second, and then looked at him before returning your gaze to his hand as you promptly shook it.
“I’m Edmund Pevensie. It’s nice to meet you”.
“I’m not telling you my name Edmund Pevensie, for all I know, you might just be a well-dressed murderer”.
“He did say you were quite ‘peculiar’,” Edmund said as he chuckled. He turned his back on you and went to mount his horse again.
“Wait. Where are you going? Are you leaving me here?”
“That’s what you wanted, didn’t you?” he asked in a mocking way, as he sat on top of the horse.
You lowered your weapon and sighed, “Well, not really. I mean, you brought me here -beautiful place, by the way- but I’d like to go home now, please.”
“I didn’t bring you here, Y/N.”
“Then who di-?” you paused as you came to a sudden realization. “How do you know my name?”
“He told me. And He told me where to find you as well”.
“You do realize that most of the things you’ve said at this point haven’t made sense, right?”
He laughed once again, you seemed to amuse him, “You are breath of fresh air. I’m sure my siblings will have no problem getting along with you,” he said. “Now, if you wan’t answers, you can come with me, if you don’t, you can stay here,” as he gave you your options, her extended his hand towards you.
You pondered your options for a moment: mounting a horse with a total (handsome) stranger, or stay here, in this (admittedly, beautiful) forest. Unfortunately for you, you would have to choose the first one. You sighed and dropped the branch before making your way to him. Before taking his hand, you eyed his silver crown and then looked at him.
“Am I supposed to bow?”
He chuckled, endlessly amused by your behavior, “I think we’re past that now.”
You chuckled as well before taking his hand, and being pulled up by him to mount the horse. When he was sure you were secured, he turned his head to the front and patted the horse’s neck. “Take us home Phillip, please”.
The horse apparently understood, as it neighed and apparently nodded before turning around and galloping to God-knows-where.
That had been nearly two years ago, when Edmund was merely an 18-year-old boy. Now, you were running around the castle grounds, making sure that everything would be perfect for his birthday ball, where single ladies form all around would presents themselves to him as future possible wives and queens. He didn’t have to choose a wife, however it was now a tradition since Peter had had one the year you had arrived, at the request of the Beavers.
“At least give it a try My King,” Mrs. Beaver had said. And so he did, however, he didn’t chose a queen, something that disappoint every available lady in Narnia and beyond.
So now, here you were trying to make ends meet so that Edmund could have a nice birthday, and he could pick a queen.
“Do make sure the trees are happy, they look their best when they are,” you said to a maid.
“Yes, My Lady,” she replied.
Even though you weren’t exactly royalty, being their advisor/ representative/ local magic healer, amongst other unofficial duties, you were treated like the next big thing.
“Oh, and also the food must not go in the ballroom, but rather in the conjoined rooms. The satyrs have agreed to pass out drinks, haven’t they?”
“Yes, My Lady.”
“Perfect, and the centaurs will be receiving the guests, right?”
“That has been taken care of already, My Lady,” a voice interrupted the usual affirmations of your female companion.
Edmund stood in front of you with a grin. The maid immediately excused herself, not before wishing him a happy birthday, to which he offered her a sincere smile and a gracious vow.
“Good morning Ed, I suppose you’re getting ready for your big event,” you said as you flipped through the stack of papers in your hands which were filled to the brim of things you had to take care of.
“Actually, I was about to ask you if you wanted to go for a ride,” he said as he joined your side.
“Ah, I wish I could, but unfortunately, I have a lot of things to get done for the party,” you replied, taking a quick glance at him.
“Phillip does miss you,” he said.
“I’m sure he does,” you said in a sarcastic tone. In reality you could imagine he actually missed your mare, Kamaria.
“Come on-” he started, but he wouldn’t get the opportunity to finish his thought, since you heard a voice calling to you from the other side of the gardens. It was Susan, who has pointing at her wrist, indicating you were late.
You groaned softly, “God, I have to get my dress fitted,” you said as you covered your face with the papers. “I’ll see you tonight!” you spoke as you started to make your way to Susan, to which Edmund wanted to say something, but a sudden thought halted your steps.
You ran up to Ed once again and threw your arms around him, “Happy Birthday, your majesty,” you said up to his ear. You felt him wrap your arms around your waist and hug you tighter. You eventually let go, praying that your face wasn’t as red as it felt. You looked at him one last time and as you ran towards Susan, you looked back and yelled “Save me one dance, will you?”
You saw him laugh softly, before going to face Susan.
“Oh Edmund, please dance with me!” she said in a sing-song voice.
“Be quiet,” you hushed and gently nudged her.
“Just kiss already.”
Tumblr media
The night had been lit up by the various candelabra that gave life to the ballroom, as well as the stunning gowns and dress robes that the guests were wearing.
You stood by the King’s and Queen’s thrones, always at their left side. You were wearing a beautiful gown that had been tailored just for you, which made you feel like a star. However, you knew that was not the case, this night was not about you, it was about Edmund, and the girls that came here to be courted.
Once everyone was settled in, trumpets sounded throughout the room, which prompted the guests’ attention to move towards the thrones. Peter, Susan, and Lucy stood up, and the room cleared out for them in a semi-circle. They were to choose their first dance now.
Lucy went first, she immediately went up to one of the satyrs that were passing out drinks and asked him to dance. He happily agreed, as he set down the platter on his arm and bowed to her. Susan went next, she graciously picked one nice looking guy from the crowd, and curtsied, he returned the gesture by bowing. Last, was Peter, you saw as the girls in the crowd straightened their posture. You smiled at that, knowing that if you were in their position you would’ve probably done the same, it filled you with endearment towards the girls. However, you soon saw their posture deflate, and their eyes fell on you. You came to the sudden, and mortifying, realization that King Peter the Magnificent was standing in front of you.
Your eyes went wide, and as much as you wished to ask for an explanation, you couldn’t.
“Can I have this dance?” he asked, a shit-eating grin on his face.
You saw Susan trying to hold back her laughter at your reaction as she gave you an encouraging nod.
Turning your attention back at Peter, you felt as if your blood has been drained; you were used to being the center of attention, however, this felt different, it was as if you were being judged by your own people. “Peter, what the fuck?” you whispered harshly, as you offered him a tight-lipped smile along with your hand.
Since having arrived to Narnia, you’ve abstained yourself from cursing, mostly because you knew that people here weren’t as used to it as you were back in the twenty-first century, however, sometimes you just couldn’t help it.
“Ah yes, always with the sailor mouth,” he chuckled, as he led you to the center of the ballroom. “You don’t see that a lot back home.”
“So you’ve told me, but what you haven’t told me is what are you doing.”
“Is it so bad that I want to take my advisor out to dance?” he asked, positioning his hands on your waist.
“Not at all, my king, but I’d rather not be the target of the death glares coming from the fine ladies here,” you replied just as the music started to fill the room.
“Then you’re going to hate what comes next,” he said, you could hear the grin on his voice. You tensed under his touch, and he felt it immediately, as he spun you around and smiled. “Enjoy yourself Y/N, don’t worry. You’ve been doing that a lot lately.”
“What do you mean Peter? What are you guys up to?” you were starting to get worried now.
“You look beautiful,” he said as a reply. “I’m sure he’s thinking the same thing.”
You remained silent, a silent confused noise was the only thing that escaped your mouth as he spun you around again. It was obvious that he was playing a game, and he was refusing to give you any answers. From the corner of your eye you saw Orion, his usual stoic expression seemed a little off, he was looking at Edmund, who was now making his was to the stairs in front of the four thrones, meaning that he was now going to choose a woman to dance with. Not just any woman, but the one that could possibly be his next wife.
Right on cue, the music came to a swift stop, and Peter set you right gracefully. He then bowed and offered you his arm as support.
You knew Peter, and you knew the Pevensies. You knew they would never do something bad to you, or something that would make you uncomfortable in a way that you couldn’t handle, so why was it that you felt dizzy with nervousness?
“Relax,” Peter whispered reassuringly.
“I’m trying,” you whispered back.
“Just so that you know, you never had to worry about anyone else,” he spoke. “He only has eyes for you. Ever since he found you in the forest.”
You gasped softly. The sudden realization about who he was talking about all along dawned on you. But it couldn’t be, could it? You were so lost in your thoughts, that the gasps of surprise, as a certain king approached you didn’t seem to faze you.
“Would you do me the honor, of conceding me this dance?” Edmund said, as he asked for your hand. His blue eyes were soft, and they shimmered with the light of the room. A small (and beautiful) smile adorned his features.
Peter smiled at him, and then at you. Shocked was a small word to describe your state at the moment. Never would you have imagined this was how the night was going to go. Still in your state of shock, you were barely aware of your hand moving to be in his, and of how his fingers wrapped around it as if they were welcoming you home.
“You look beautiful tonight Y/N,” Edmund said while taking you in.
“Ed…what is this?”
“Isn’t it obvious?”
“I’m afraid not,” you whispered as the music filled your ears once again. “When I asked you to save me a dance, this wasn’t what I meant.”
Edmund inclined his head a little, so that he could look at your eyes, “I’m mad for you Y/N, and this is my way of telling you that. I wanted to sort of give you a heads up, and maybe even propose today when I asked you to go for a ride with me.”
“Ed, listen…if this is a joke…”
“What? Why would you think this is a joke?”
Your eyebrows furrowed, it all seemed too good to be true. You knew your relationship with him had always been sort of playful, borderline flirtatious maybe, but you’d never thought that your feelings were reciprocated.
Lucy was the first to find out about your feelings for Edmund, albeit it was not because you had wanted her to, but because the young Queen was so observant that nothing went unnoticed by her. Of course, after Lucy found out, Susan did as well and she was not going to be subtle about it. So one day, as you were making some jewelry as a gift for the fairies for your upcoming diplomatic trip, Susan barged in and demanded to know everything, Lucy rushed behind her, trying to get her to calm down as to not frighten you. You had thought that Peter didn’t know about your ‘secret’ but after tonight, you were starting to think that you were a little more oblivious than you had previously thought.
“Ed, I- I don’t know. I just… this is,” you tried to explain whatever it was you were feeling. You were confused, overjoyed, overwhelmed, you felt weak and powerful at the same time. You felt as if you had been put on a pedestal the moment Edmund chose you, as if the fact that he had picked you in a room full of beautiful girls made you worth looking at, but you also felt exposed, as if the same fact meant that you were now like a piece of meat on display.
Edmund’s eyebrows furrowed. “Listen Y/N. I don’t want you to force you into anything that you don’t want to do. I don’t know how you feel about me, or if I misinterpreted our relationship. What I do know, however, is that this is not a joke or a prank, this is truly how I feel about you, and that I will make every effort in me to make sure that you have the life you deserve, whether that is with or without me. I know that there’s no one else in this room, or in the entirety of Narnia or even Archenland, for that matter, that compares to you. I want to spend the rest of forever with you Y/N.”
You were left speechless, and the silence was loud. The music had dissipated along with Edmund’s words. He kissed your hands and with an adoring gaze got down on one knee as he took out a beautiful silver ring from his pocket. The ring had an amethyst in it, your favorite stone, and your birth-stone as well. You gasped, and your hands flew to your mouth, the room gasped along with you.
“My dearest Y/N, would you do me the honor of being my wife?”
You saw Peter, Susan and Lucy beaming at you. They stood by their respective thrones, Lucy held on to Peter’s hand tightly. You looked down at the dark-haired boy in front of you. His eyes never seemed to leave yours. Your chest filled with warmth and you allowed yourself to relax, a soft smile appeared on your face as soon as you gave him a soft nod.
You would be honored to be called a Pevensie.
“Yes my King, I would love to be your wife,” you replied as you extended your left hand, were he slid the ring into your nuptial finger. He promptly stood up and swept you into his arms as he spun you around.
The whole room exploded into applause and cheers.
“You are unbelievable Edmund Pevensie. You know that back in my world, skipping the dating stage is unforgivable, right?”
He laughed and pressed his lips to yours, “It’s a good thing we’re not there then, yes? Because now I can tell the world how lucky I am to call you my wife.”
You giggled and burrowed your nose into the crook of his neck, “Not yet charming, we have to go through the actual ceremony.”
“Yes yes, formalities my love. If it were up to me I’d have it done tonight.”
“You’re starting to sound like Peter there Ed, maybe marriage will make you more impulsive,” you replied as you giggled into his neck.
“Maybe,” he said as he pulled back a little, just enough to see your face and press his lips against yours once again.
“I love you Ed.”
He smiled, and his eyes took you in, he didn’t need to say it back, you knew he had already. In every action, and every moment you had spent together. But he did, and your heart soared.

TW: Reader getting stabbed with a sword, injury, mentions of death (nobody died)
Tumblr media
The man infront of you almost killed you, his sword entered your stomach. The last thing you heard before passing out was Edmund screaming "Y/N!". When you woke up, the pain was there, and some bandages covering the wound. You reached for them, but accidentally pressed too hard "Ouch" you muttered.
"They're awake" A voice you recognized as Peter's said
Then, the sound of shoes against the floor were present for some moments, soon you saw the faces of your siblings. Lucy and Edmund were beside the bed, they started asking questions, like how you felt. Peter and Susan were a little behind. "Give them space" Susan walked a few steps, getting closer to the bed but not as much as the other two were.
"Are you feeling better?" Susan asked, in a soft voice
"It hurts, a lot" You answered
"The pain will go away in some days, we'll have to change your bandages daily" Peter walked to stand where his siblings
"We thought you would die" Lucy had tears in her eyes
"But I didn't, I'm still here" You grabbed her hand "I will never leave you"

Something He Can't Have
Tumblr media
Edmund Pevensie x fem!reader
A/N: Not me falling back into one of my oldest hyperfixations after watching the movies this past week for Christmas 🥴 I honestly don't know what to say for myself, other than that I had fun writing this and it may have single-handedly saved me from my recent writing slump. Anyway, hope y'all like this, byeeee ✨💕 Warnings: none
Lucy lets out a groan that sounds so annoyed that it instantly draws Edmund back into the present moment. “Can I ple-ease say something now?” She asks Susan, who sits to her left at the banquet table.
Susan shushes her, but there’s no malice behind it. In fact, when she does allow a disheartened look to grace her face, she directs it toward Edmund. “No. I suppose we shouldn’t meddle.”
They’ve captured his interest. Which is something that seems nearly impossible, considering that he’s spent so much of this banquet staring at Peter and (Y/N) on the dance floor, watching his older brother enjoy dance after dance with her. And trying hard not to take it too personally when (Y/N) throws back her head to laugh every now and then at something that Peter has said. Usually, she only laughs like that at his jokes, and usually only when they’re alone together.
If Peter is making her come undone, allowing her to feel comfortable outside of the carefully crafted polite and diplomatic persona that (Y/N) has created for herself to use in Cair Paravel’s court, then she’s become relaxed with him. And who knows where that will lead?
“What are you talking about?” For good measure, Edmund tosses one last glance at the dance floor before turning his attention to his sisters.
“That!” Lucy exclaims, gesturing between Edmund and the crowd that swirl on the floor before them. “This!”
Edmund raises an eyebrow. “The ball?”
His younger sister groans, burying her head in her hands. “Oh, I give up!”
“Edmund,” Susan says sternly. “I promised myself that I wouldn’t get involved, but this has gone on long enough.” For a split second, the gentle queen loses her composure, though only ever so slightly. “I mean, for God’s sake! It’s downright painful to watch!”
Still confused, Edmund isn’t sure what to say that will clarify whatever his sisters are talking about without further upsetting them. Instead, he settles for biting his lip, glancing between his sisters and the dancing, trying to work out their meaning himself.
Susan sighs, turning to Lucy. “He’s either a better actor than we give him credit for, or he’s downright daft.”
“Help me out here,” Edmund says.
“(Y/N)!” Lucy hisses, leaning across Susan so that she can scold her brother without causing too much unwanted attention. “You’ve been following her around all lovesick for ages now, but you haven’t done anything. And now you’re all jealous watching her dance with Peter.”
“Am not!”
Lucy swats his arm. “You’ve been staring at them all night. If you like her so much, then you better do something before you lose her forever!”
In other situations, Susan might chide the youngest Pevensie sibling, telling her that she’s being a bit overdramatic before offering Edmund some sort of good-natured advice. Edmund looks to her expectantly, only to find her brown eyes full of disappointment; she agrees with Lucy.
“We can all agree that you wear green better than any other, Ed,” she says. “But jealousy is not a shade that suits you.”
“Me? Jealous?! Of who?”
But his sisters only fix him with knowing looks. It makes Edmund want to wither away from existence on the spot. He spent most of their lives before Narnia being jealous of Peter. It’s been hard, but it’s something that he’s worked on since they were crowned. He really thought that he had overcome it. Now, though, his sisters’ words, coupled with the funny feeling in his stomach . . . He feels like a man, trapped, full of guilt, and caught in the middle of something very private. Which innocent people with nothing to hide do not feel in situations like these.
I fancy (Y/N), he realizes, admitting it to himself for the first time. It feels demeaning, somehow, to put a label on the feelings that he’s been harboring in secret for so long. And I’m jealous because she likes Peter more than me, says the next one, which makes him feel even worse.
A warm hand takes hold of his and squeezes. For all the annoyance that Lucy has felt toward him in these past few minutes, she offers him nothing but a kind look and encouraging smile. “You have to do something, Ed.”
“I – “ The words clog in his throat, causing him to swallow thickly, trying to find some of the air which has suddenly become very scarce. As you spin by on the dance floor, Edmund can see how you’re smiling at Peter like he hung the moon, and how his older brother beams at you like you created all the stars. Who wouldn’t want to bask in the sun’s warmth like that? And what sort of evil would dare separate two people who appear to be so . . . so in love. “I can’t.”
“You can,” Susan reassures him. “Trust me, Ed.”
Edmund, however, can’t take his eyes off of you. “I can’t ruin that.”
“You won’t,” Susan says. And if Edmund had his wits about him, he would recognize that she says it with the tone of someone who is very sure of herself because she has access to information that no one else has. (She, after all, is your best friend. But facts like that tend to fall by the wayside in moments of intense anxiety such as this.) “Ed, it’ll be fine. Trust me.”
To unstick the words in his throat, Edmund reaches for his goblet and takes a swig of the drink from inside. If he’s really going to do this, he’ll need all the courage he can get, no matter where it comes from.
As the song ends, he pushes back his chair and begins to make his way around the table. Lucy squeals with delight from behind him, and both his sisters offer nods of encouragement and thumbs up when he turns back to them, unsure.
The next thing that he knows, he’s on the dance floor, maneuvering his way through the crowd to reach you –
He catches sight of you just as you excuse yourself from the dance floor. You disappear into the crowd before he can call out to you, though he reaches out a hand, like he might be able to catch you from afar.
“Edmund!” A well-meaning slap on the back announces Peter’s presence. His older brother throws an arm around his shoulders. He radiates heat after all that dancing. “I wondered when you might join us on the dance floor.”
“I’m not. I’m just looking for (Y/N).”
Peter’s smile doesn’t falter, despite the fact that the next words out of his mouth are devastating news. “I believe that she’s retiring for the night.”
“Oh?”
“She said that she needed some air, that she might go to bed.”
As one of Narnia’s kings, Edmund is inclined to stay present for the majority of this banquet. You, being a courtier, are free to go as you please, seeing as there are no diplomatic negotiations, no fates of any nations, resting on your shoulders. If things were different, he would find a way to go after you.
And he’s actually looking for an excuse to do so when Peter says something that makes him stop.
“I wish she would have stayed,” the High King sighs. “We were having such a good time.”
Edmund nods, hands involuntarily clenching into fists at his sides. His voice feels hollow when he replies, “It looked like you were having a good time.”
“I was thinking – “ A laugh cuts Peter off as he shakes his head, looking half embarrassed, half giddy. “I was actually just about to ask her to be my – my girlfriend.” On the last word, something most unusual happens – the High King blushes. Actually blushes! Who would have known that such a thing was possible?
To say that it catches Edmund off guard would be an understatement. He’s never seen Peter so vulnerable . . . so happy. It makes Edmund’s mouth go dry. He and Peter have had their differences throughout their lives, but he can’t just ruin his older brother’s chance at happiness.
“Oh.” Is all that Edmund can think to say. He hesitates for a moment before asking, “What do you think she’ll say?”
Peter laughs, breathlessly, happily. “Well, I’m hoping that she’ll say yes, of course. In fact – “ He glances in the direction that you disappeared in. “ – I would go talk to her now, if not for my responsibilities.”
“Go,” Edmund finds himself saying. He can feel Peter’s look of surprise mirrored on his own face. But if Peter is going to do this, if this is all really happening, he’d honestly rather get it over with. “I’ll cover for you here.”
Now it’s Peter who hesitates. After a moment, his face breaks into a wide smile. He claps Edmund on the shoulder. “You’re a good man, Ed.”
I wish I were better, the Just King thinks as he watches his older brother chase after the girl that they both love.
From the banquet table, Lucy and Susan are giving him confused looks. Edmund only shrugs, then quietly rejoins them. He doesn’t speak, doesn’t want to explain what’s just happened. He recedes into himself, letting the party whirl by without him.
If only he were paying attention – then he would see the knowing look on Susan’s face.
. . .
It’s late when the banquet ends, and later still when Edmund slips into the library. He’s exhausted, but his mind is racing and won’t let him sleep. You and Peter had disappeared from the banquet hours ago. That’s plenty of time for his brother to have confessed to you and for you to have accepted. Dread fills him at the thought of the two of you happily announcing your new relationship the next morning at breakfast. He’ll have to face the two of you sometime, to muscle through his own pain and begin navigating a world where he has to accept that you’re in love with his older brother. But tonight, he can be amongst his books, which are a comfort.
He's so distracted that he doesn’t immediately notice you sitting by the fireplace, an open book on your lap, but a distracted look on your face as you watch the flames dance before you.
“Oh,” you both exclaim at the same time when you notice each other. The synchronicity makes you both laugh.
“I didn’t mean to frighten you,” he apologizes.
“I didn’t mean to take your hiding spot,” you say in turn. You shut your book, but Edmund holds out a hand to stop you.
“You don’t have to leave on my account.”
You squint, studying him for a second, before nodding and settling back into the cushions behind you. “Thank you.”
“Of course.” Carefully, Edmund takes a seat opposite you, gazing into the fire to gather his nerve. He didn’t expect to find you here. Didn’t expect to find you looking so . . . distracted and lonely as you stare into the fire, your book forgotten. He really shouldn’t pry. But you’re his friend, first and foremost, and he doesn’t want that to change. “Is everything alright?”
Delicate fingers pinch the bridge of your nose. You sigh, collecting yourself before looking up at him through the firelight.
“Peter asked me to be his girlfriend,” you confess. Though the library is quiet, your voice is dull, hard to hear. You do not look as joyful as he imagined you would when delivering this news.
“Oh,” Edmund offers. He fumbles for words. You look upset, so he can’t congratulate you. But then again, he’s not sure if he should console you.
You stare at him for a moment, studying him just as intently as he’s studying you. “I said no,” you finally explain.
“Oh,” Edmund says again, for lack of anything better to say. “I’m . . . sorry?” Except that he’s really not. He feels quite relieved, if he’s being honest with himself.
Your brows furrow. He’s said the wrong thing, but he’s not sure where he went wrong.
“I said no,” you repeat. “Because I have feelings for someone else.”
Edmund’s heart, only on the mend for a split second, plummets. “Oh. I see.”
“No you don’t,” you scoff. “Edmund, you’re the one I have feelings for! Have you really not noticed by now?”
The words echo through the still library. They hang between you for a moment. A glorious, albeit confusing, moment where Edmund can do nothing but stare at you, unsure if he’s heard you correctly. Narnia is a magical place, but there’s no way that you could have said the very thing that he would do anything to hear.
“You do?” His voice comes so quietly that when you don’t immediately reply, he worries that maybe he hasn’t spoken at all.
“Yes. And for quite some time, I might add.”
“But – “ Images of the night swirl in his mind. You had danced with Peter for ages, looking so happy. Everyone likes Peter. They always have. And much, much more than they like Edmund. To say that you have feelings for him . . . “Why?”
You blink, taken aback. “What do you mean?”
“I mean . . . Everyone likes Peter. He always gets what he wants.”
Even in the dim glow of the firelight, he can see your gaze soften.
“Oh, Edmund.” You leave your seat, coming closer to him. He rises, meeting you halfway, so that the two of you are standing together in front of the fire. Gently, you take his hand, intwining your fingers. Your hand is warm in his. You squeeze, and on instinct, he squeezes back. “That’s not true.”
“What’s not?”
“People like you, too. I like you.” Your grip tightens on his hand. “And Peter doesn’t always get what he wants. I know something he can’t have.”
“What’s that?”
A smile tugs at your lips when you gaze up at him and say, “He can’t have this.”

Hello!
could I get number 13 on the prompt list with Edmund Pevensie?
Summary: He was a King. You were no Royal. You were his friend, as he was yours. And despite the fact the people kept saying there was something more, you denied it. For a King could never love a commoner. Could he? Pairing: Edmund Pevensie x Reader Rating || Genres || Warnings: T. Romance. A/N: Yay! First request for Edmund!
Tumblr media
"Really, Your Majesty! This is just too much!" You said, running your hand over the fabric of the dress the youngest Queen of Narnia had forced you to put on.
"It is not." The Queen stated with the stubbornness of a teenager, which she was. "And how many times I've told you to call me Lucy."
"Multiple times, Your Majesty." You responded with a cheeky grin, prompting Lucy to roll her eyes in a rather un-queenly manner.
Luch walked up to straighten the thin satin belt that rested around your waist. The dress truly was a work of art. Made of a material that you were sure cost more then the wages you received, it was soft and delicate to the touch. Not to mention the work down the front of the dress seemed to sparkle in a way that made you feel like a princess. And the color? A grey that almost appeared silver. A rather unusual color but somehow familiar.
You were sure you had seen that color before, just not sure where.
"The seamstress made a few mistakes with the measurements, and I don't want it to sit in the back of my wardrobe. It is simply too stunning to never see the light of day." You let out a small hum of agreement as you allowed yourself a moment of admiration. The mirror in front of you showed a figure dressed in a gown that was surely out of a fairy tale.
Then again, you had seen grander and more beautiful gowns, and the one you wore was rather simple in comparison. But in your eyes, it was perfect. You twisted where you stood, hoping to catch a glimpse of the details that adorned the back. Lucy smiled at your obvious admiration.
"Maybe if you wore it to the ball next week, Edmund will finally notice you."
The words jolted you out of your little haze of admiration.
Turning your gaze towards the now smiling Queen, you blinked. "Notice me?" You asked, though you knew the answer before it came. Had heard it one too many times from so many people and creatures you knew.
"As in confess that he loves you, just as much as you love him." You blinked. The effect of her words were immediate as a blush turned your cheeks a bright red. The sight of which had Lucy smiling even wider.
"I-I do-don-" You were cut off by Queen Susan, who had been sitting at a nearby writing table and going over the final preparations for the Winter Ball.
"Lucy, you mustn't assume such things, it is rather rude." Her younger sister pursed her lips in a stubborn line. "Though I must admit Y/n." The Gentle Queen continued, now looking towards you. "Edmund does seem to show more affection towards you then he does anyone. Even us."
Annoyance had being told off forgotten, Lucy chimed in. "And we're his siblings!"
You shook your head as you reached behind you to undo the dress, anything to occupy her hands and hide her face lest the two Queens see the blush on your cheeks. "Your Majesties are mistaken. King Edmund and I are simply friends. And even that is a miracle given how I'm a simply maid and he is a King."
Lucy frowned. "And what does that matter? Love should not have anything to do with it." Having stepped out of the gorgeous gown and into your everyday clothes, you shook your head. "No, but that is it, Your Majesty." Your words sounded unconvincing, even to your own ears. "I am not in love with your brother."
A lie.
                                          ————————–
You were in love with King Edmund.
Had been in love with him since the moment you had seen him.
Of course, you hadn't realized it then. Had not picked up on the fact that perhaps your heart raced because he was so near. How your heart leaped in your chest when he smiled at you. Or even how everything just seemed a little more magical when he was around.
You had met him by chance. Having finished your duties for the day, you had chosen to go down to the beach and collect some shells. You already had quite the collection but you always found new beautiful pieces to add to your collection. You had just straightened up from picking a rather pretty pink shell when the sound of an approaching horse had you looking to your left.
There he was, sitting atop a horse, with no saddle or rein, no entourage or crown adorning his forehead to show his status. The speed at which he rode his horse had you stepping back before he was even near you.
For reasons known only to Aslan, he came to a halt as he neared you. You had returned to your little expedition and was already digging through a small patch of sand where you had spied a star shaped shell. The sight of it had a bright smile forming on your lips, your eyes alight with joy at such a small, insignificant yet beautiful creation.
And Edmund had felt his heart clench at the sight of your sweet smile. A strange urgency bubbled in his chest. One he had never known before. One that compelled him to dismount from his horse and approach you. Though he stood a good few feet away as he watched you straighten and place the shell in your basket.
It was then that you became aware of him. You stood there as well, your basket tucked at the side.
He had stopped at the sight of you. And the both of you had simply looked at each other.
It was rather strange looking at a complete stranger in the eye. Normally you kept your head down and went about your work. But there was just something about him that had you meeting his gaze.
Him in his simple breeches, shirt and shoes, black hair swept away from his forehead, blowing gently in the salty air. Eyes alight with a light that you would see for months to come whenever you would run into him.
He knew it was not proper to stare, but he could not help himself.
You in your simple dress, with the hem wet from the waves that kept tickling your bare toes. The braid you kept your hair in, hardly able to keep the strands in place given how hard the wind was blowing. Your cheeks were flushed from being out in the sun for so long.
And yet Edmund had never seen a more prettier sight in all of Narnia.
Slowly, you smiled at him in a friendly manner. "Is there something that you needed?" You asked.
He shook his head. "I apologize for disturbing you on your outing My Lady, I was just curious why a young maiden would venture so far away from Cair. Assuming, you are from there." He quickly added, not wanting to make any false assumptions.
Giving a small nod, you confirmed his suspicions. "Yes, I'm from Cair. I work as a maid there." The both of you glanced down the length of the beach to where the castle shone brightly in the light of the slowly setting sun. "You're a little far out aren't you?" He asked with a smile to which you gave a sheepish one in return.
"To tell you the truth, I love to collect shells." You held up your basket to show the small collection you had gathered in the hour you had been at the beach. "And there aren't quite that many close to the castle, so I have to venture a little further ahead."
Meeting his eyes once more, you allowed yourself to admire how handsome he was. Surely he was a lord or something of the sort. Perhaps a visiting noble from Archenland? Edmund's line of sight shifted to the setting sun just behind you.
"May I escort you back to Cair? It is near sunset and the tide will be coming in." He offered, not wanting to leave your presence just yet. You glanced over your shoulder as well, before turning to give him a nod. "That would be appreciated thank you." You paused. "I do not believe you told me your name."
Edmund's smile faltered a little. He knew if he told you his name you would recognize him. Clearing his throat he decided on a little white lie. Or rather half-truth. "My name is Ed. And may I ask you for your name, My Lady?" You waved a hand in a dismissive manner. "I am hardly a Lady, but you may call me Y/n, Ed." It was a rather strange name, but then who was she to say anything.
With the horse following after the both of you at a slow pace, you and Ed began the walk back to the castle.
                                          ————————–
It took you longer then normal to return to the castle. Probably because the both of you were so lost in your conversation. You hardly noticed when his horse actually bypassed you and reached the back entrance of the castle by himself. You didn't care that you were late.
It wasn't everyday you met someone you could talk to like you were with Ed. It was strange. You wanted to tell him everything. And for someone who was very private with their thoughts, this was a huge surprise.
And you weren't the only one doing the talking. Edmund had always felt a little alone, even in his family. Before going to war, his father had been the only one to understand him. After coming to Narnia his siblings had begun to understand him too, but it just wasn't the same.
But then here you were. Someone he had just met, and he had never felt so understood in all his life. It was a little scary, how you were so inquisitive and were able to pick up on cues and read between the lines of every word that came out of him. You were sharp, clever and smart.
Yes, he knew all three words were synonymous, but he didn't care. They described you perfectly.
"Well I should head back inside." You finally said, once there was a brief lull in the conversation. You really didn't want to, but you had to get to sleep so you could work the next day. Ed gave a small nod. And was it your imagination, or did he look a little disappointed as well.
"I had a lovely time talking to you." You admitted with a bright smile. "And I shall be surely on the lookout for the book you mentioned. Perhaps I may find it in the local library." You had begun to climb up the stairs leading towards the backdoor. He would have to enter from the other side where the stables were.
Edmund continued to look at you as you ascended the stairs. You walked backwards so you could look at him even as you departed. Suddenly, he realized he didn't want you to leave. A burst of courage, one that would make his younger sister proud, had him bounding up a couple of stairs, reaching out and taking your hand in his.
A startled gasp left your lips as you looked down at him. He was still a few steps away, but even that distance felt intimate.
"Will I see you again?" He asked. The young King had no idea where this new side of him was coming from. He had always preferred solitude, and he was sure that the moment he left your presence he would revert back to his old self.
But for now, he would act on every impulse he could.
Just so he could be in your company again in the future.
You stopped short, a surprised look crossing your features as you blinked at him. Your gaze dropped from his face, to the hand that gripped yours. And though you were cautious around people you just met, something in you reassured you. Had you believing that you could trust him.
So you nodded, and the smile that lit up the entirety of his face was one that stayed with you till the next time you met.
                                          ————————–
It didn't take long for you to become aware of Ed, or rather King Edmund's true status. And though it did shock and embarrass you, not being able to recognize one of the Monarchs of your beloved country, the only thing that changed in your friendship were the titles. You began to call him Your Majesty, or King Edmund, whatever the situation asked for. And him, out of spite and knowing how much you hated it, called you My Lady.
Everything else stayed the same.
Your friendship. Your ability to know what was bothering one another. The fact that the both of you knew when the other was going through a hard time. He with his duties as a King, and you with your own problems.
The whole castle slowly became aware of your friendship, especially when Edmund would seek you out and would speak to you about the most recent book the both of you had read. He, like you, was an avid reader. Any book would do really.
Sometimes you would stop in the middle of your task, and simply stand with the King in the middle of the hallway, as the both of you discussed some new scientific theory being proposed by some cranky old centaur.
Other times you would burst into his study, frantically gesturing as you let out your frustrations concerning a character in whatever adventurous tale you were reading. He would put aside his work and just listen to you with that knowing smirk on his face.
Once he had let you rant for nearly ten minutes before handing you the second book and saying that hadn't been the ending. You had once thrown a book at his head for that.
He'd learned to not test you when it came to books after that.
Still, over the months your friendship had grown stronger. You had even gotten to know his siblings. And while you were friends with them as well, the level of intimacy you shared with Edmund, was one you could never reach with anyone else.
It was not surprising when the residents of Cair Paravel began to assume that the King of Narnia was courting a simple maid.
And though no one ever said it outright, everyone thought the same.
                                          ————————–
The Winter Ball was a grand affair.
Since the defeat of the White Witch Queen Susan had taken every step to ensure that the Winter Ball was the grandest of celebrations. Not only because it was Christmas but because she wanted to wipe away any negative memories the Narnians had when it came to winter.
As a half-dryad, partial to spring and summer, even you could not help enjoying the festivities.
But from afar.
You were keeping to the shadows, hiding in an alcove that overlooked the beach you and Edmund had walked along for hours at a time. Queen Lucy had gotten what she wanted. You attending the Ball. She'd actually dragged her brother into the conversation. And when he had asked if you were going to attend, you knew you were trapped.
He had looked so hopeful that all you could do was say yes.
You never could say no to him. A weakness he exploited sometimes when it came to getting away from Cair Paravel, during work hours, and just wandering around in the Woods or walking along the beach. Your Supervisor knew of your getaways, but since you had always been an efficient worker, she never complained.
At the moment, you were dressed in the same dress Lucy had given you, with your hair in an elegant braid, adorned with flowers you had picked from garden earlier that day.
You wore a necklace with the gown, a piece of jewelry that had been gifted to you by a certain King. Your fingers lifted to the gorgeous piece, lightly tracing the outline of the necklace, a small smile pulling at your lips as your mind wandered to the one who had gifted it to you.
"Lady Y/n?"
Speaking of which.
You spun on your heel, having forgotten that there was a side entrance to the alcove you were hiding in.
"King Edmund." You responded with a quick curtsy. You smiled at him as you straightened up. Silence followed, one where your smile slowly faltered, and your cheeks to grow red under his unwavering gaze. You adjusted the skirts of your dress nervously as you cleared your throat.
"Queen Lucy was gracious enough to lend me the dress, though I insist in returning it once I am done attending the Ball." You said as a way to start the conversation.
It was then, when your eyes dropped to his chest, that you suddenly realized why the color of your dress had been so familiar.
Every Monarch had their color. For King Peter, it was gold and blue. For Queen Susan it was two different shades of blue. For Queen Lucy it was red and blue. And for King Edmund, it was silver and blue.
The exact shade of the dress you currently wore.
If it didn't mean treason, you would surely kill Queen Lucy for playing such a hand.
"You look beautiful." His words prompted you to meet his gaze, which still hadn't left your face. Skin flushing, you reached up to push a stray strand of hair behind your ear. "Th-thank you. You look good too. Did your sister threaten you into coming in proper attire?"
Edmund rolled his eyes. "She said she would lock me out of the library if I wasn't dressed right." You couldn't help but giggle at his expression.
"May I ask, why you're not out there, dancing?" He asked, moving to stand next to you so that the both of you could look out at the various dancing pairs. You shrugged. "I prefer the company of a select few." He nudged you playfully with his elbow. "I hope I'm included in that list."
You hummed in contemplation. "I believe you are number three. After your sisters." You responded, to which he pressed a hand over his heart. "Your words wound my My Lady. How shall I ever survive your cruel intentions."
This was what you loved liked about Edmund. He was always ready with a joke of some sort. It was rather refreshing, to have a friend who made one laugh.
A comfortable silence settled between the both of you, as you stood there and just watched everyone dance and enjoy themselves.
"Do you remember that day when I found out you were a King?" You suddenly spoke up, your gaze just as soft as your voice as the memory of that day rose to the front of your mind.
Edmund chuckled beside you. "Oh yes, I remember. I was talking to Peter about something, and you saw me." You nodded. "And I came over and ask how close of a friendship you shared with him because you punched him on the shoulder."
Turning your head slightly, you looked at him out of the corner of your eyes. "You decided to have some fun, saying you were quite close. And when I asked how close, you said he was your brother."
Edmund couldn't help himself. He burst out laughing, while you blushed furiously at the remembrance of your embarrassment in that moment. "Your expression was hilarious." He said once he paused for breath. "And then you said but that would make me King. Though I was rather offended you knew that Peter was King."
You scowled at his grinning face. "Thats because I had seen him give a speech in public before. It is hardly my fault that you barely leave your library or your office to go out and meet people."
He made a face. "Now why would I want to do that?" You rolled your eyes at him. "One would think as King, you would prefer to at least show yourself in public sometimes." You reprimanded, prompting Edmund to point a finger at you. "Did Susan tell you to say that? She's always going on and on about how I should spend some time with people so that I don't forget how to talk."
A teasing smile pulled at your lips as you flicked his finger away with your own. "Well she's not wrong. I love reading books just as much as you do, but at least I go out and talk to people."
Edmund rolled his eyes. "I talk plenty. At least with the people who matter." As he said that, his gaze flicked towards you and you smiled, reaching out to loosely loop your arm through his. "I am truly honored to be one of those people."
He smiled, his fingers intertwining with the hand that wrapped around his arm.
"You have no idea how much."
So saying, he brought up the hand he held, and pressed a gentle kiss to the back of your hand. And since you'd forgone gloves for the night, you could feel the press of his warm lips against your skin.
Your heart beat rapidly against your chest, and you were sure your cheeks were a permanent shade of pink with how much you were blushing.
Suddenly his eyes lit up, as if he had just remembered something.
And he had.
"I almost forgot! I went down to the beach a few days ago." So saying he reached inside his pocket and pulled out a rather pretty shell. "I found this while I was down there, thought you might like it."
With your free hand you took the shell, examining the pretty colors that nature had painted it with. It was truly beautiful. But that wasn't what you were focusing on.
He'd been at the beach for his own purpose, whatever it had been. But he had thought of you. You were on his mind when he saw the shell. You were who he remembered when he picked it up knowing you would like it.
How could he be so sweet and kind at the same time?
And how, oh how could you not fall in love with him if he were to keep showing you such sweet gestures?
The sight of the shell, and the aftereffects of the conversation you had just had with him, was what compelled you to do what you did next.
It was a simple maneuver really. One that required you to push yourself up on your toes, and tilt you head forward a little bit.
A simple series of movements.
And yet the outcome of it had Edmund's eyes widening as he felt the result of your gesture against his mouth. But it didn't stop there. His entire body stiffened for a brief moment, before he relaxed and tilted his head a little to better return the gesture. The hand that was not gripping yours, came up to rest the tips of his fingers under your chin.
Slowly you pulled back, your eyes opening so you could look at him. He was smiling. He was smiling at you so tenderly that you were sure your heart wouldn't be able to recover from the beauty of it.
Of him.
And his eyes. You actually had to look away because of how intense they were, as if he could see to the very inner most corner of your heart.
The fingers on your chin pressed lightly against your skin, coaxing you to turn your head back.
Edmund couldn't help it. He couldn't help himself and not look at you. He had to look at you.
You with your kind smile and gorgeous eyes. The way your hair would dance in the breeze and your whole face would light up when you talked about something you were passionate about.
Finally, after a few moments of simply looking at one another, he spoke. "You know there have been rumors going around. Rumors saying that I'm courting you."
You pursed your lips to suppress a smile. "I've heard about them, and I don't understand how people would think that." Even as you said it, you couldn't help but smile, knowing exactly why people would think that. He grinned as well, knowing exactly what you were thinking.
"Well how about, we add wood to that fire and play a little game by giving them a little hint every now and then?" He asked, his eyes alight with that spark he got whenever he was thinking of some clever plan that would outwit anyone involved.
Luckily for Edmund, you shared his love of deception and pranks, so you smiled. "I think I would enjoy that."
He laughed softly, before leaning down to press his lips to yours in a brief kiss.
"Though I want you to know, that whatever hint or gesture I may show you, they come from my heart and hold true." He whispered against your lips, prompting you to nod.
"As will mine."
Suffice to say, the next morning, when Edmund kissed you in the open courtyard where a lot of creatures had gathered to clean up after the Ball the night before, the entire castle buzzed with gossip and speculation.
Though one thing was for sure.
In Mrs Beaver's words, the both of you were truly meant to be.

Letters and Lust
Edmund Pevensie x Reader
Tumblr media

Requested by @potatosdragon (hope it’s to your liking!)
‘Hi again,
I really liked the writing you made with my idea, and I just thought of another one and had to send it to you.
So it's Edmund Pevensie again
And the reader has been sent to a boarding school so the writing would be letters sent between the reader and ed. Maybe he sends her a scandalous one and the teachers find it.
It might be a bit vague so I would totally understand if you don't want to write it but I just needed to see if you would.
Thank you so much’

Y/N- Your Name
L/N- Last Name
Y/H- Your Hometown/Home-Country
Y/n/N- Your Nickname

There is no mention of Narnia, so the fic can either be taken as taking place in a non-Narnia world, or just that the sex and the letters are more important than ruminating on the left-behind fantasy world 🤷‍♀️

----------------------------------------------------------
Mareafe Academy
6th September, 1944
Dearest Edmund,
I have literally just sat down on the bed in my dormitory, and the FIRST thing I did was pull out a piece of paper and a pen so I could write to you. And, alright, perhaps I also arranged my novels in the little bedside table I have.
I’m early, and my dorm-mates haven’t arrived yet, so I can write in peace and solitude, too- shucks, I won’t be having much of that anymore, will I? It hasn’t even been twenty minutes in the boarding school yet, but I already really miss day school. However DO you manage at boarding school??? And you’ve been studying at one since you were eleven!
I miss you, Ed. I miss your freckles. I miss you holding my hand. I miss zoning out of the conversation when you talk about chess. I miss you not even realising that I’ve zoned out.
I wish my parents weren’t going away to Y/H for the rest of the year- yes, I will miss them, too- and I wish that St. Finbar’s had a vacancy so I could have attended then, because I would have been close to you throughout the year then. I really thought that’s how it would happen- that once school started again, you’d be going to Hendon, and I’d be going to St. Finbar’s, and we’d be close-by, like always. I mean, the last couple of years, we were together all the time, because the war had closed the schools down.
I love you. Chess-obsessed idiot you are, but I love you so much. Alright, you’re not an idiot, you’re the smartest person I know, but still. Your cheeks get so red when I call you an idiot.
I have to go, I can hear footsteps coming to this room. You know what that means- people. Ugh. I do not like people.
I’ll post this when I get time, and you BEST write me back as soon as possible! Bye-bye, darling.
Love, Y/N
Y/N stared at the letter after she capped her pen, and continued staring at it even as the noise of chattering and laughter filled the room.
She finally stopped staring once one of the girls approached the bed she was sitting on, with a welcoming smile- probably one of the old students- and she put down the letter. As she sat up and readied herself to stand up, and- regrettably- socialise, her eyes fell on the letter one last time.
‘Dearest Edmund’ were the two words she managed to read, and she smiled to herself.
--
The day after that, Y/N hurried to the telephone room during the break, after the classes of the day and before the prep-time of the evening. Her hurrying was because the monitor of her form had come by her solitary armchair, where she’d been reading the newest Nancy Drew, and informed her that her mother was calling.
“Hello, M-?”
“Don’t finish the word, darling, I’m not your Mum.” Came the lovely voice of her even lovelier boyfriend, Edmund Pevensie. “Did I get the routine right? It’s your break now, yeah?”
“Yes- it is-” Y/N had sent him her class-routine along with the letter, “but- I thought- the monitor said that-”
“Oh, I just put Susan on the telephone for that.” He chuckled. “She sounds very much like a priggish old lady.”
Y/N snorted, after which he continued, sounding a bit nervous, “Wasn’t sure how receptive a teacher or monitor would be to a young man calling and asking for the prettiest person in school.”
Her cheeks were already scarlet, “Ed, you haven’t even seen the others in the school.”
“And I don’t need to.”
“You charmer, you.” Y/N spoke, toying the telephone wire around her fingers. Then her voice softened, dropping to a whisper, “I love you.”
“I love you, too.” His voice softened, as well, and she could imagine the tenderness in his chocolate brown perfectly. “I miss you, Y/n/N.”
“Me too- and the fact that I probably won’t see you until Easter break-” her parents would be returning to Finchley then, “which is SEVEN MONTHS FROM NOW, is just torture.”
“I couldn’t agree more. The moment I’ve enough money, I’m coming up there and we’re spending the weekend at some cosy inn.”
Her blush deepened, and- oh, how she wanted to kiss him. And more. Oh, she truly wanted that inn-weekend immediately.
Still, she spoke teasingly, “I think the Headmistress might have some problems with you whisking away one of her students for the entire weekend.”
“What can educational administrators or institutions do when it comes to true love?” Edmund spoke dramatically to his girlfriend, and Y/N- giggling again- could visualise him having his hand on his heart. “Oh, I did love the birthday gift by the way, my last suspenders were hand-me-downs. But why-”
“Because-” Y/N’s voice lowered again, but it wasn’t so much as it was sultry, “I like to hold them and tug at them when I’m on top of you, and honestly, with the state the last ones were in, I was afraid they’d tear the moment I touched them.”
She glanced at the door of the tiny telephone room, just to make sure there was privacy- before turning back to the telephone.
“And- your suspenders aren’t the only thing I want to tear off you, you know.”
She heard a gulp on the other end, and then Edmund’s hoarse voice speak, “What I would give to be back to the ninth of August- and the twelfth- and the sixteenth- and the twenty-third- and the twenty-fifth- and the twenty-sixth- and the thirty-first- and the first two days of September.”
Visions of Edmund, his pale, freckled body under her, on top of her, beside her, kissing her, touching her, licking her, fucking her- made their way immediately into Y/N’s mind, and she clenched the telephone receiver tight.
They weren’t visions, they were memories, and she pushed her legs pressed together.
“I can’t believe you remember all the days.”
“I can’t believe we had less than a month of it.” He whispered back, huskily, and Y/N licked her lips. “Oh, Y/n/N-”
“If you keep calling me that, I will run back to Finchley and have-” oh, she couldn’t say the word, she didn’t know if the walls were soundproof!, “and read with you in front of your entire family.”
“Read?” Oh, she just knew that Edmund was smirking. “Read what?”
“Everything you can imagine.” Oh, she could be husky and seductive, too! “Everything you want.”
“Everything we want.” He corrected immediately, and Y/N could no longer ignore how wet she was. “I- oh, goodness gracious, I need to have a cold shower now.”
“I need to have you, but I’ll have to settle for a shower, too.” She just hoped none of her dorm-mates asked why she was having a shower at such an odd time. “I should go, prep-time is about to start. Call me earlier next time, my love.”
“Okay, will do.” Edmund promised. He’d call her all the time- it was the only way for her to be in his life for the next seven months. Well, that, and letters. Yes, letters... He could make good use of those, too. He really would miss his girlfriend terribly. “I love you, Y/n/N.”
Y/N sighed, and rested her head against the wall- wishing it was her boyfriend’s shoulder instead. As if it wasn’t bad enough that she missed her family- missed home- she had to miss the love of her life, too.
“And I love you, Edmund.”
--
Edmund was not at school. He was grateful for that- though, not as much as Peter or Susan were, and more than Lucy was- for he quite enjoyed the time at home, with his family. He didn’t mind school, generally, for he liked to read, and learn, and he did well in tests- but who could pick school over home?
Certainly not he.
Regardless of his gratitude for not being at school, he did regret that he was at home- because of Y/N. It was entirely unjust that she was stuck there, in some boarding school she had never been to, with her family travelling away for some urgent emergency, away from her home, whilst he was at home and with his family.
He wished he could go to her- he badly wanted to see her, be with her. Just for half a day, even. He was intending to, and had even started planning to go there for Christmas, but his parents had informed them that their grandparents were coming to stay Christmas week- which effectively poured water on his half-formed plans.
All they had now was letters. Not even telephone calls- at least for the present, for the old telephones had been removed, and new ones were being put in, and Y/N had said that she didn’t know how long it would take in her last letter. There was only one working telephone in the entire school, the Headmistress’s, and, as his dear girlfriend had said, “I don’t think she’ll be very keen to let me use it so I can hear sweet nothings from my boyfriend.”
Edmund was making the most of the letters.
Several of the ones he’d written were humorous- even if he did say so himself, droll, and loving, chronicling the things that had been happening at home and with him, as well as asking Y/N what was happening with her and showing sympathy for her ‘incarceration’ (as she put it in one of her letters) in school.
-
My cousin, Eustace, came over with his parents for Dad’s birthday. You’ve met him, the shrill kid with the eyebrows, and the terrible name- Eustace Clarence Scrubb? Anyway, they were to stay the entire weekend, which everyone- including them- were very annoyed about, but we all had decided to take it as much in stride as possible. But Eustace is just so annoying, and he was driving us four MAD the entire day- to show how much, even LUCY asked for him to shut up. Well, she said ‘please, be quiet, I have a headache’, but that’s ‘shut the bloody hell up!’ for her.
At any rate, he was driving us crazy. I told you he has a fixation with entomology- insects- and he brought his whole kit and collection of insects with him. Can’t part with it, apparently, since he’s observing some live specimens to note down some specifics about them that he feels the entomology books got wrong.
We (Peter and I, since Eustace is sharing our room) let those live specimens free. Freedom is extremely important, I know you agree, my darling.
In the morning, Susan- with such a smile on her face she resembled the Cheshire Cat- said that Eustace had demanded to go home, and so our aunt, uncle, and cousin were to leave for Cambridge after lunch by train.
And it’s only Saturday! HA.
-
It is unfair, Y/n/N, far too unfair that you’re in school, while most of the country isn’t! It should be a law that each educational institution should open and close at the exact same times, and that there should be the same number of hols- otherwise, it’s just bloody unjust. If I wasn’t already sure that I want to be a lawyer, this would have made it CERTAIN for me.
You deserve better, my love. Especially since you hate school so much. If I could swap places with you, I would. I’d look very pretty in a skirt and your school’s uniform, don’t you think?
-
Did you read the new Hardy Boys? The Melted Coins? Frankly, I’ve been enjoying Nancy Drew more than the last couple of Hardy Boys- is just me? I prefer mysteries related not to treasure nowadays, I feel. Buried treasure just feels far too overused.
-
But several were- they were not humorous and sympathetic and bibliophilic as much as they were libidinous.
Edmund wrote those letters late at night, when his brother was fast asleep and snoring. He was a night owl, thankfully- though, not as much as Y/N, whose sleeping schedule was more vampiric than human. He’d write the letters, burning the midnight oil, blush quite brilliantly at the contents of what he’d written as well as the images of his beautiful girl from that his mind came up with, and then he would go and post the letters the next morning.
-
Darling, you know I think a lot, but you know what I think the most about?
You. Always you. Your smile, your eyes, your eyebrows, the nose I love to kiss, the curve of your lips, and your hips. How I hold them when you take me inside you. The way your eyes flutter when I flick your nipples, how your mouth opens whenever I lick at your sex.
How incandescent you look during and after sex, on top of me or under, your body pressed hard against me. How your lips call my name, how my name sounds in your voice. We had so few moments where we could do all that- but we really made the most of it, and I’m endlessly grateful. And we’ll see each other very soon, and I SWEAR all our fantasies will be indulged.
You make me tremble, and you leave me breathless, especially when I look at your face flushed with ecstasy and when I hold you in my arms while making love. And I love you so much in those moments, as I love you in every moment I live.
-
I miss your tits. Your lovely, large, lovely tits. I miss how you giggled when I kissed them. I miss all of you.
-
Do you know I have to keep taking showers more than once every day? Every time I think of you, I just get so hard and I need to get myself off, after which I need to clean up- consequently showers.
Your last letter, about the- about the swimsuit and the swimming exhibitionism thing- I don’t think I’ve ever come so hard from getting myself off. If it’s your hands or mouth, yes, but not from my own hands.
I want that, too. You know that. I want all of that, so BADLY. Sometimes I’ll wander down some alleyways, the ones that are shortcuts, and I’ll think of pushing you against a wall and fucking you then and there. I think of you wearing those sexy knee-socks as you spread yourself on the bed. I’ll think of how bright your eyes get when I enter you, and-
Fuck, I’m hard again. Bloody hell, Y/n/N, I’ve already showered twice today! I’m going to die of a cold, at this rate.
-
Chocolate is my favourite taste. I adore chocolate, and I’d probably eat the floor if it was made of it. I mean, no offence to those five kids, but I should have gotten a Golden Ticket to Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory.
But I adore tasting you, too. I love you writhing under me, as I kiss along your thighs, and I love you pulling my hair when I finally have my tongue inside you. I adore everything about you, every single thing- but, gosh, your taste. You taste like oranges, and I drink your essence like I’ve been thirsty for centuries. I’m a rational person, easily the wisest in my family- not that that’s a difficult achievement- but you, Y/n/N, you drive me wild.
-
I want you to fuck me. I want you kneeling in front of me, your mouth around me, sucking me harder and faster. I want you to make me moan your name over and over and over until you unravel me completely. I want to give you hickeys everywhere. I want to be yours. I want to be inside you again. I want you.
-
Y/N’s replies would come the very next day, and he would lock himself in the bathroom whenever he read them.
Her replies were even more explicit and- as she had herself said in a telephone call- more unhinged than his.
-
Every night before I sleep, I masturbate. I close my eyes, fix my blanket, and then I touch myself. I touch myself, and I think of how you hold me. I touch myself, and I think how you kiss me. I touch myself, and I think of how you lick my breasts, how you suck at my clit. I touch myself, and my body shakes, and I think of how you fuck me. I come, somehow, my hips lifting, and I think of you and only you, my dearest.
Then I go to the bathroom to pee and wash my hands, and then, just as I’m about to fall asleep, I think of you again.
I turn, shoving my face into my pillow, and I fuck myself again, all the while wishing it was your fingers and your mouth and your cock inside me instead.
-
I drew you naked in class today. I spent a lot of time on your fingers. And your freckles. I really, truly, madly love your freckles. I love that I’ve kissed all of them, all over your body. Even the ones on your cock. I love them. I love you.
-
Was down swimming today- it’s cold weather usually, but somehow it was pretty warm today. I was really glad, and the MOMENT we finished breakfast, I ran to get my swimsuit and went to the pool. I mean, I didn’t run, I definitely never run, but I did walk very fast.
So I went to the pool, wearing my swimsuit and a bathrobe over it, and as I was taking it off, I wished you were there. I wanted you to watch me. I wanted to take off my robe, and my swimsuit, and I wanted you to see me, your pretty eyes going dark as I get naked. And I wanted you to take off whatever you were wearing, too- hopefully suspenders. I love you wearing suspenders, and I love to drag them off you. Obviously, I’d be watching you as well, because how can I ever NOT look at you?
And then I wanted to make love with you then and there. Outside, in public, uncaring of whether anyone could see. I still want it.
Writing this down, I’m throbbing again. I can smell how wet I am, goodness.
-
I might kill someone if I don’t get you inside my cunt right NOW.
P.S. (adding this in the morning), I didn’t kill anyone. A lot of people at school make me murderous, but I’ve had self-control so far.
I have, however, put a photograph of myself in this letter, one that I’m sure you’ll like. I’m not as adept a photographer as you- you know how much I fidget- but, again, I think you’ll like it. And I hope, love, that you’ll send me one in reply, too- only if you want to.
I love you. And enjoy my tits. Let me know what effect they have on you.
--
“Post’s here early!” One of Y/N’s classmates called out- she had just stood up to leave the Dining Hall, and had seen the postman walk across the doorway at the far end of it. “Oh, hope Mum got me the hair-band I fancied!”
As her friend pulled her down to the seat, teasing her in whispers that she needed a few dozen hair-bands to keep her flyaway hair in control, Y/N stood up.
She never ate much in the mornings, anyway- if it wasn’t compulsory, she would absolutely have skipped breakfast every day, waking up exactly six minutes before classes started. And now that mail was here early, she would go and see if she had letters- she usually had one from Edmund every other day, and one from her family every week, as well as occasional letters from some other friends she had left behind. There were, though, also many days that she did not have letters.
Today was not one of those days.
Recognising Edmund’s signature on the back of the envelope, Y/N snatched it from the tray of letters, and grinned hugely. She grinned so widely, in fact, that a group of first-formers heading her way saw her and ran away in the opposite direction.
She usually opened letters from her darling boyfriend in private, since their letters were private, and- more often than not- intimate. Today, though, she lacked the patience and ripped it open as soon as she reached the- thankfully empty, since most of the school was still at breakfast- entrance hall of Mareafe Academy.
Her fingers felt the texture of the letter’s paper- but along with it, they felt a much smoother, cooler surface. She pulled both out immediately- she was a curious creature, and then Y/N almost dropped the envelope.
She wasn’t just curious. She was forgetful as well, and she’d forgotten what she’d sent along with her last letter. And that she’d added a request, of sorts, for a similar response.
And she had got it.
It was a photograph of Edmund. He’d clearly taken it himself, from the angle- and another, far more clearer thing, was that he was naked. He was utterly, completely naked, from head to thigh- that was as much was there in the picture. Oh, and his thighs- what lay in between them- Y/N licked her lips.
Almost immediately, she bit her bottom lip to keep from accidentally moaning, and then Y/N hurried to the staircase that led up to the dormitories to sit down on the fifth step. Setting down the letter and the envelope on the sixth step- yes, yes, she would read it in a second, she desperately wanted to read what Edmund wrote, but she just needed to admire the gorgeous being that the love of her life was- she looked at the photograph even longer. Her eyes danced around to his pale and lithe form, to the flat of his abs that she’d press her palms against sometimes, to different spots of him she’d sucked, to all the starry freckles she had kissed, to his lovely lips that gave her kisses that brought her both calm and passion, and to all the parts of him that she adored.
She would absolutely be missing her first class, so she could take advantage of an empty dormitory- she would look at the photograph, and then she would mas-
“Child, is this yours?” Came a voice- and then, immediately, a hand bent down to pick up the letter and the envelope carelessly left on the stair.
Y/N turned, in panic and horror and so many other unpleasant, cardiac-arrest-reminiscent symptoms- but the damage was done. The form-mistress for the first form, as well as the House-Mistress for the school House she was in, Ms. Potts, had her hands on her letter.
And her eyes were on the letter- growing wider and wider and wider and wider with every passing second.
“What,” Ms. Potts said, her lips pursed so tightly together they seemed conjoined, and her fair cheeks turning a blotchy red, “is this abhorrent, shocking, and vile thing sent to you?”
Oh, Heavens. Had Edmund written about how much he liked to have her sit stop his face? Or perhaps some details about how she sucked his cock.
Y/N did not say anything, because she felt petrified. Mortified. She had wished for death before, but she didn’t think she’d ever wished it quite so keenly and desperately. She’d take anything! Couldn’t those air raids start again!? Just for the day?!
There used to be a chandelier in the entrance hall- it had been removed as the war had begun. She wished it was still there, so it could fall on her.
Ms. Potts shook in rage for a few more moments, apparently as unable as Y/N was of coherent speak- before spotting something in the student’s hand.
“What is that?” She asked, her gaze fixed on the photograph of Edmund. “Was that with his letter?”
“No.” The lie was immediate, and convincing. Talking, she was not very good at, but lie she could very well. “It’s a photograph of- of the tulip-bushes at our house in Finchley, ma’am. My parents asked a neighbour with green thumbs to look after the bushes, so they’ve bloomed again despite the house being empty-”
“Is that so?” The teacher cut off the narration, looking unimpressed. At least the splotches of red were lessening now, Y/N thought. “Let me see it, then, give it-”
“No!” Oh, she could have her letter, but she would not give away a photograph of Edmund naked! He’d trusted her with it, and she would DIE before letting a stranger see it. No one ever deserved to have their personal anecdotes or their personal photographs or documents be circulated to or by those who were never intended to see them. “Sorry, Ms. Potts, but it’s my photograph.”
“Hm, of course. Privacy is important.” Ms. Potts nodded, seemingly backing down. “But so is decency, Ms. L/N, and the things written in this letter-”
“I haven’t read the letter, ma’am.” Y/N said, because what else could she say? She didn’t know! She still felt like she was having a heart attack, and she was anxious about whether the hospital- oh, anxiety. She felt anxiety, and if Ms. Potts didn’t give her back her belongings, she may devolve into a full-blown panic attack. “I don’t know what it says. I’m not even sure whom it’s from-”
“Says it is from ‘your devoted and dearest Edmund’.” Her lip curled, and Y/N couldn’t be sure if that was a hint of humour or hatred. She could be sure, though, that she wanted the floor to open up and swallow her whole. Or at least transport her to somewhere far, far away, somewhere that was preferably known as ’Edmund’s arms’. “I thought such adoring signatures died out after the Georgian era.”
“I always thought that such signatures existed only in books.” The girl gave a shrug- not a nonchalant one, though that was the effect she was trying to convey. “Maybe- maybe that’s what this is, Ms. Potts, someone having transcribed a letter from a novel and sent it to me-”
“Admirable attempt at lying, L/N, but the lie only makes things worse. Mareafe Academy does not condone lying, cheating, or-” Ms. Potts looked down at the letter again, and the splotches reappeared, “such disgusting sentiments being written to the young women of tomorrow!”
“Oh, but- but, Ms. Potts-”
Why wasn’t there a dragon here? Either she could ride away on it, or it could eat her. Either way, her problem would be solved
Oh, she so hated to exist in a world of reality.
“And, according to devoted and dearest Edmund,” The teacher’s voice dripped with sarcasm, and it didn’t sound nearly as attractive as Edmund’s sarcasm did, “you were the one who asked to be sent such uncouth correspondence.”
Well, what was she to do now? Throw Edmund under the bus and keep him safe, or tell the truth and secure expulsion?
She couldn’t do either of that. She would protect Edmund and she would make sure her parents did not have to feel the shame of a child expelled from school.
What excuse could she give...
“I’m a writer.” Y/N said suddenly, before glancing down at the letter again- as soon as Ms. Potts lost focus on it, she’d grab it back. “I asked a friend of mine to help me with certain- salacious parts of the novel I’m working.”
Ms. Potts gave her a look, “Are you planning to become the female D. H. Lawrence, Ms. L/N? Need I remind you, most of his books were banned because of their- their inappropriate content.”
“And now he’s one of the most famous writers of the century.” Y/N pointed out. “I- I think that counts as a win.”
Ms. Potts rolled her eyes, “Would you like me to take this letter to the Headmistress? Perhaps she’ll motivate you with suspension to show her the photograph-”
“No!” She burst out again, shifting her weight from one leg to another, that was how nervous she was. She kept teetering-tottering. Edmund’s photograph would ensure expulsion.
Oh, why was this happening!? Wasn’t it bad enough that she’d had to wake up early for breakfast- even earlier than usual, because her dorm-mate had pulled the curtains back to let in the rare sunshine!? Waking up was awful enough!
“No- please, Ms. Potts, I don’t- I’m so- I’m sorry. I- promise that- that I won’t ask for such-” loving, “vile letters anymore. Please, I’m so very sorry, ma’am-”
“Alright, child. Calm yourself.” She sighed. Generally, she would have taken the student and the letter to the Headmistress, for its contents were that questionable- but she had a soft heart when she hadn’t had her morning coffee. And- well, she knew the girl was having a hard time with her parents so far away, and- and, between the inappropriate things, she could read the love that seeped out from every word. Edmund truly loved Y/N, despite the disgusting things he did to her and she did to him. “No supper for you for the rest of the week, L/N. Your suppertime will be devoted to extra prep time, and you’ll have two slices of toast and a glass of water before you head to bed.”
“Okay.”
At least it wasn’t expulsion- and she’d just spend the prep time daydreaming about Edmund. About the food, though- she usually was very hungry at dinner, but she’d have to make do.
“Thank you so much, ma’am- and, again, I- I am so- so sorry.”
“Hmph.” She made a sound to acknowledge the apology, and then held out the letter. “I’ll be reading the rest of your letters from this Edmund from now on.”
She nodded quickly.
“Now go put it somewhere private, I will come check in five-” after she had her coffee, “and for the Lord’s sake, get to class on time!”
She nodded again, grabbing the letter and the envelope, before running straight to her thankfully empty dormitory.
She had intended on locking the door, undressing- at least part-way- and then fingering herself until she came, while looking at Edmund’s photograph and/or reading his letter.
Y/N still wanted to do that, she thought, as she sank onto her bed. She wanted to do it even more, in fact, because now she had his letter, and she was reading all the beautifully dirty things Edmund wanted her to do to him or wanted to do to her- but she would refrain. Her sex was throbbing and her mouth was dry, but Ms. Potts would be up any second, and if she walked in on her masturbating- well, there would be no hope for her at ALL then.
For once, she would have self-control when it came to Edmund.
“Oh, darling.” She said, falling back on the bed and letting out a very long sigh. She wanted to go back to sleep. “Our fucking has fucked things up.”
--
Two months later:
“Yes, fuck, ah-ah, yes-” Y/N moaned, one of her hands gripping the bark of the tree she was pressed up against, while the other fisted itself firmly into Edmund’s hair, pushing his head further between her thighs.
They were in a clearing in the woods behind school- not too far in that they’d get lost, and yet not too near the entrance that they’d be seen by someone from her school. It was parents’ weekend- and, in place of her parents, Edmund had come to visit. Ms. Potts had enquired if she would be alone the weekend, and Y/N had lied that her uncle and aunt would be coming to take her for the two days- and the moment that Ms. Potts had turned around, she’d grabbed her little case and run outside. Thankfully, in all the crowd of cars and people outside the school, no one had noticed that the person she was hugging was a boy her own age, or that the hug was decidedly not platonic.
After they’d escaped the school, Y/N had said something that they couldn’t enjoy themselves in a pool- sand then Edmund had completed her sentence by saying that at least they could have some pretty good fun in the woods.
Edmund had taken up a paper route the last few months, and had done some odd jobs around the neighbourhood- and Y/N had made some money by tutoring some first-years, too. She’d begun the tutoring as a way to lessen Potts’s suspicion- but it had had a monetary advantage, too. Pooling their money together, they’d managed to afford one night at a nearby bed-and-breakfast, and they had both been so excited, Edmund had got on the wrong train- he’d realised just before it had started- and Y/N had buttered her hair, instead of her toast.
Edmund dug his fingers into her leg that was thrown over his shoulders, his tongue licking a path along her sex, and he felt a deep tightening in the pit of his stomach. He was already pleasured and sated- the moment he had arrived at the school gate, and had seen her run towards him, after which she’d thrown her arms around him, he’d been utterly content. He was even more so now. He had missed her so much.
He reached up blindly- but he was so familiar with her body, that he found her bare breast at the first try, cupping it hard as he began to suck at her clit.
“Come on, Y/n/N. Say my name.” Edmund grinned wolfishly, as a muffled sigh left her lips. “Moan if you missed me, darling.”
And she did.
This was exactly- exactly- what she needed. What both of them did. What they’d needed and wanted for so long. How utterly she had missed him.
And, considering that they’d only had sex for about ten days back in August, it was truly astonishing how well he knew her body. He really was a fast learner.
He knew it so well that she just could not keep her mouth shut, though she knew she couldn’t be too loud, “Fuck, Edmund-”
Then his fingers joined, too, inching closer to her clit, making her gasp and shiver and doubling the building ecstasy.
Needless to say, it took hardly a couple of minutes for Y/N to reach her zenith, her body relaxing as she came.
“No, no, no.” She said, a moment after her breathing eased- Edmund was looking around for their long-discarded shirts, his suspenders (which looked even sexier than usual, perhaps because she was seeing him for the first time in months), and her skirt.
Her boyfriend looked at her inquiringly- good Heavens, he was licking his lips, she might orgasm just looking at that.
She pulled her knickers up and debated on putting on her bra- she was trying to wear them more often, despite how much she disliked them, because she’d heard a sixth-former whisper in the pool that wearing bras helped with back pain.
And she had a lot of back pain.
But she decided against it. A few more minutes wouldn’t make her back hurt even more.
“Come a little closer?”
Edmund obeyed, but still looked blank. He was perfectly content to just look at her- after months of just letters, most of which had been censored and sanitised after a point- he just wanted to gaze at her.
“Why, Y/n/N?” He asked, and was answered by Y/N kneeling, pulling his trousers down, and wrapping her mouth around him in one fluid moment. He started violently, quite staggered by the action, and drew a sharp gasp of a breath. “G-give a fellow some warning, darling.”
“As though you didn’t know-” She pulled away from his cock for just a moment to smile at him- going down on her had hardened him, which meant he was already close, “that I wouldn’t let you go without returning the favour. It’s been too long, love.”
“I- forgot.” His lashes fluttered, his breath coming in short bursts as she started to take him in her mouth again, her head bobbing up and down between his legs. “S- ach, Y/n/N-” she sped up the work of her tongue- harder, faster- and he had to bite down on his bottom lip to hold back a moan, “silly me.”
She sucked for a few, slow moments- not enough to make him come, but enough to make him tremble and moan her name- and she could feel herself throb again, because it wasn’t inside her mouth that she needed him.
But she’d contentedly settle for this for the moment- it was Edmund, she liked doing almost everything with him.
Carefully, she pulled her mouth away from him- and asked softly, “Do you like this, my love? Do you like my mouth around you, as I kneel for you? As I put my tongue on your cock?”
Before he could reply, she bent forward again and trailed her lips all over his length, sometimes darting her tongue out to lick a freckle or sensitive spot- and then began to suck once more.
Minutes later, as the birds chirped in the trees, they lay on the warm grass. They held hands as Edmund slid inside Y/N, into the togetherness and oneness they’d had too little of and they had missed for months.
The sun scattered through the canopy of trees, falling onto their bodies, which flushed and naked and tight together. Their lips were pressed together, too.
And when they came together, they whispered both I love you and I missed you.
After that, lying naked on the warm grass and in each other’s arms, they made fun of other people- specifically, teachers- and teased each other- both verbal and sexual, and bantered, all interspersed with a lot of kissing. There was a small picnic basket lying a few feet from them, as well.
It was going to be an amazing weekend.

Day 3: Peter Pevensie X Reader: Mirror Sex
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A/n: Apologies for this being super late. Writer's block is ass. Also sorry for it being short. 18+ Smut
Warnings: Smut, Mirror sex. P in V.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It's ten minutes till dinner and I'm in my room finishing up getting ready. Smoothing down my dress in the mirror. Lucy and Susan are sitting on the bed chatting to each other and waiting for me so we can all walk down together.
“You look fine Y/n.” Susan says. Lucy nods in agreement.
“Thank you. Just want to make sure it looks okay I mean, Peter is down there and I just..I want to look nice you know?” I say nervously.
Susan gets off the bed and walks over to me, “I get it, but it’s Peter we’re talking about. He won’t care.” She said, rubbing my back in comfort.
“I still don’t understand your crush on my brother Y/n.” Lucy says also getting off the bed.
I rolled my eyes, “Of course you won't Lu, he’s your brother” I said. She just smiles and shakes her head.
I take one more look in the mirror and then turn around and take a big breath. “Alright, I'm ready. Let’s go.” I said
We all turn around and leave the bedroom, walking down the stairs. I can hear grunting and rustling. We get down stairs and see the boys. Edmund and Peter, wrestling each other.
Me and Lucy look at each other and roll our eyes. We stand there for another minute before Susan clears her throat. They stop, and slowly turn their heads to see us standing there.
I cross my arms and raise my eyebrows. “What, are you boys doing?” I ask.
They scramble off the ground and dust off their clothes, Edmond clears his throat, “we were just messing around.” he said nonchalantly.
“Of course you were.” I said back. I look over at Peter to see him staring at me but when he notices me looking he clears his throat and looks away.
“We should head to dinner. It’s almost 8 and Ms.Chatham said the food is almost ready.”He said, heading to the dining room.
We all follow him. Taking our places at the table. Ms.Pevensie is already there.
“About time children. Ms.Chatham is about to bring out the food. Sit, sit.” She said,
“Apologies Mum, we lost track of the time.” Peter said.
“It's quite alright but do not make a habit of this.” She said in a warning tone.
As she finished this. The food started coming out. The servers, Justine and Mikey, start plating everyone. Starting with Ms.Pevensie, seeing as she is at the head of the head, then Peter and I since we are on the right side of the table. Susan is at the other end and Edmund and Lucy are on the other side.
“Thank you Justine and Mikey. You are excused until dessert.: Ms Pevensie said.
They quickly walked back to the kitchen and we began to eat. Dinner time is quiet as usual. Everyone is too hungry to enjoy conversation.
As I'm taking a bite of the pasta, I feel a breath on my ear.
“You look lovely tonight Y/n.” Peter whispers in my ear.
I Blush and nod, “Thank you Pete.” I said back
He smiles and we go back to eating.
We all finish the meal in silence.
Justine comes out a few minutes later to collect pur plates.
“Excuse me for a moment. I need to use the restroom” I say standing up.
The bathroom is down the hall and then when you turn left it's the 3rd door. It's a good distance from the bathroom.
I go about my business in the restroom. Washing my hands and drying them. As I open the door to leave. I get pushed back in.
“Woah!” I yell. Looking up to see Peter closing and locking the door.
“Pete, What the hell are you doing?” I asked.
He looks at me for a sec before slowly walking towards me.
“I don’t know. I just..can’t get the image of you in this dress,” he takes a finger and runs it down my side, “out of my head” He whispers.
My breath hitches and my mouth gaps a little.
‘W-what do you mean?” I ask.
He looks me up and down and then looks me in my eyes.
“I think you know what I mean darling.” He says. His face is getting closer to mine.
My eyes close slightly as he gets closer and closer. His lips ghost over mine, and his hands grip my waist.
Just as I think he's gonna kiss me, he quickly turns me around and pushes me up against the sink so we’re now looking at each other through the mirror.
“What are you doing?” I ask. Try to wiggle free.
“What I’ve been wanting to do for a while now.” He responds. Giving my neck slow kisses.
My head tilts back unconsciously.
His right hand trails down to the hem of the dress and pulls it up over my waist. Still placing kisses on my neck, he moves his hand to my panties, hooking his finger under and dragging them down.
I open my eyes slightly and make eye contact with him in the mirror.
My hand reaches back and grips his cock, slowly rubbing it for a few seconds before pulling it out and rubbing it on my entrance.
He hisses and his head tilts slightly. He removes my hand and takes over, slowly pushing inside me. I moaned, but I guess too loudly because he had to put a hand over my mouth.
“Quiet darling. Don’t wanna get caught now do we?” He asks. I shake my head quickly.
He starts off slowly before picking up the paste.
“Imma take my hand off now, think u can stay quiet?” He asked.
I nod and he takes his hand off and puts it on the waist with the other one.
Starting to pump faster I lean over the sink, needing to grip something. My hand came in contact with the already semi steamy mirror.
He groans slightly “Oh god, i'm gonna come darling. I-I need you to come with me baby. Can you do that?” He asks hurriedly.
I nod. “Uh huh, Yes yes yes.” I whisper, my voice cracking.
“Okay baby,” he says, pumping as fast as he can, “On the count of three baby, come with me.” He says.
“1” His hands move to my shoulders for a better grip.
“2” My right hand is still gripping the mirror, my left grips his arms.
“3” He says and we both let go, I moan so loud he has to turn my head and kiss me to shut me up.
When he finally stops thrusting, we both pause for a minute to take a deep breath. My body slumps against the sink and he slowly pulls out.
He puts himself away and then turns me around. He helps me pull my panties back up and fix my dress before grabbing my face and giving me a passionate kiss.
I gasp as I pull away. “How, how long have you wanted to do that?” I ask.
He rubs my face with his thumb “Since I met you in year 9” He says and smiles.
I smile back.
“I’m pretty sure it's already obvious but if it’s not. I like you Y/n. Alot.” He says.
“I like you too Pete.” I say back. Blushing and reaching up to give him another kiss.

Peter stalked across the ballroom, determined to talk to Y/N.
On the other side stood Y/N, who was determined to ignore Peter until hell froze over.
Susan rolled her eyes at the predicament. It was obvious neither of them would let it go, so she decided to take the reigns of the situation and manipulate their minds—slightly—so that they would stop this nonsense and so Susan, Edmund, and poor, sweet, confused Lucy could finally live in peace. "You have to dance with him."
Y/N scoffed. "I don't have to do anything."
Susan nodded. "You're right; you don't have to do anything. I just thought the High Queen and King should have the last dance instead of the High King and Duchess Mian, but it is no matter. I'll go get her-"
She shook her head. "No, it's-"
Peter approached his siblings, only looking at Y/N. He extended his hand hesitantly. "May I have this last waltz?"
She sighed, putting her hand in his. "If you must."
They walked away, and Edmund laughed at his older sister. "Remind me never to be on your bad side, Su."
Lucy looked up at Susan, puzzled. "But Duchess Mian was done dancing hours ago. She twisted her ankle."
Susan smirked. "She doesn't need to know that."
Peter put his hand around Y/N’s waist, earning a scoff from the annoyed Queen. "You don't have to be this close for a waltz, Your Majesty."
"Don't call me that."
"Call you what? Your formal title?"
He glared at her. "Stop behaving like a child."
She laughed. "I'm behaving like a child? Interesting."
"Y/N/N, I'm sorry."
She smirked, murmuring. "Well, this is new."
He continued. "I'm sorry that I haven't made you feel loved, and I'm sorry that you feel like I don't pay attention to you, but I do." Y/N just stared at him as he kept talking. "I know that your favorite color is deep blue like the sea, I know that you prefer blueberries above all other fruit, I know that you are fiercely loyal, that you want two children because you're scared the first one will get lonely. I know that you treat my siblings like your own, and I know that you are the love of my life." Somewhere along the line of his speech, she had looked down and was staring at his chest. Peter cleared his throat, nerves overtaking his adrenaline. "Say anything, please."
"I can't believe you." They twirled around again, and Peter became confused. Why was she still upset with him? "Y/N/N I-"
"Don't Y/N/N me. I just told you that I didn't want you to tell me like this because it would feel rushed. And here you are, saying some beautiful, heartfelt speech, and you expect me to fall into your arms? Is that it?"
"I didn't think that would happen exactly, but I did think it would go a little better than this-" He stopped, and his smile returned quickly. "You thought it was beautiful?"
"Peter-"
The waltz ended, and Y/N thanked Aslan. Perfect timing. Susan walked out into the middle of the dance floor, grinning. "Thank you all for such a wonderful evening. Safe travels home, and a Happy Christmas!"
Y/N talked to a few guests, thanking them for traveling so very far. But when they had all trickled out, and it was just the Narnian royals, she stalked off as far away from Peter as she could.
Tumblr media
She leaned her head against the back of her chair, letting out a deep breath. The night had felt longer than it actually had been, and she always felt more relaxed sitting on her balcony. Her robe did little to keep her warm, so she went back into her closet and pulled out a thicker one, layering it on top. Going outside in the middle of winter wasn't the wisest idea, but the balcony was her safe space. Her door flung open, and she gasped, hiding against the wall, looking for anything near her to defend herself. Peter’s voice echoed through her room, causing her to feel as though steam was coming out of her ears.
"Y/N."
She left her hiding spot, stalking toward him. "You cannot just come into my room unannounced-"
"I have to talk to you."
She shook her head.  "You cannot be in here-"
"Y/N/N, please-"
She put her hands on his chest, pushing him towards the door. "Someone could see you-"
"I do not care." He looked down at her, his eyes crazed with something she didn't want to address at the moment. But apparently, he did. "I love you, and I know that you love me. You're just scared. You don't like that I finally admitted my feelings for you at the wrong time when it looked like it didn't matter." He sighed. "And I am truly sorry for that, I am. But you helped me realize that I love you, and I always have." He walked closer. "I know that you love me too. You just don't want to become vulnerable."
She scoffed. "I am not in love with you. We're eighteen. We just think we're in love."
He laughed. "I did not say that you were in love with me."
Her cheeks turned red. "No, but you implied it.” He looked at her with that stupid grin. “Leave, Pevensie." She pushed his chest again, but he grabbed her wrists. She shook against his hold. "Why do you always resort to this?"
He pulled her closer. "You know that you love me."
She didn't move away, but she didn't move toward him. She merely smiled up at him. "You-need-to-leave." She pushed him once more. "We cannot handle another scandal at the moment."
He rolled his eyes. "I would hardly call turning down Lord Eluna a scandal."
Her laugh was void of humor. "It is when it looks like I merely turned him down because I wanted to."
Peter huffed. "Fine, I'll go." He smiled one last time before he left her room. "But you know where to find me."
Y/N laid back on her bed, staring at the ceiling in shock. She did love him; she knew that. She then spent the next hour contemplating whether or not she should go to him. A moment of weakness struck at 2 am. She couldn't get his confession out of her head. Actually, it was just the one sentence that made her heart flutter. "And I know that you are the love of my life."
Slipping on her shoes, she tiptoed to Peter's room, knocking on the door. No answer. Maybe he had gone to bed. She knocked once more, and the door opened, Peter's groggy face in front of her. She smiled awkwardly. "Did I wake you?"
He shook his head. "Are you alright?"
She shook her head back. He held the door open more, gesturing to come inside. Y/N looked around, smiling, when she saw a painting of the five of them above his fireplace. He closed the door and walked towards the fire, fixing a kettle.
"Would you like tea? Always makes me feel better when I-"
"I know that you're the love of my life too."
He put the kettle down and stood up, staring at her. "What?"
"I love you. I'm sorry, I just- I had to tell you." Peter walked towards her slowly, a smile growing on his face, and she became nervous. "Why are you silent? You're never silent." He walked closer, and she whispered, a smile threatening to break through her scared facade. "Please just say something."
Peter's smile had grown into a full grin as he looked down at her, whispering back a single word. "Jump."
A chill ran down her spine as she complied with his request. He held her by her thighs as he walked her up against a wall. She flushed. He dipped his head down, grinning boyishly. "You have no idea how long I've wanted to do this."
She sighed, stretching her neck to touch his lips. "Just do it, please."
He smirked and slammed his lips into hers without any warning. She let her hands travel up the nape of his neck, grabbing his neck and pulling slightly. She gasped for air, looking up at him, dazed and content. "I want you."
His eyes were dark, and her knees felt weak. He grinned once more, throwing her onto the bed. "I am going to prove to you how much I love you."
Tumblr media
The sun poked lazily through shut drapes, hitting her eyes. She sighed, opening them hesitantly. Her legs tangled together with Peters and his burgundy sheets. Y/N smiled giddily, knowing that last night hadn't been a dream. Peter's head was resting underneath her jaw, and she hummed softly, putting her hand through his hair. She moved slightly, trying to re-situate herself, and he groaned, putting his arm around her waist and pulling her closer, if that was somehow possible. He murmured in his sleep. "Y/N..."
She couldn't bring herself to wake him, so she carefully grabbed a pillow she had been using and placed it underneath his head. Prying his arm off her waist, she grabbed her nightgown and robe, quickly throwing them on. She looked back at Peter once more, pushing the hair out of his face, and gently kissed his forehead.
Y/N tiptoed towards his door, shutting it gently, and let out a deep breath she hadn't even realized she was holding. She walked to her room quickly and sank to the ground. "What just happened?" She was in shock, that much she knew. It wasn't the kind of shock you have after witnessing something horrible, but her gut was twisting, and she knew it was because they’d changed their dynamic forever. It was a lot to handle by herself.
She needed to breathe.
Tumblr media
Penelope galloped out of the stables, and she sighed as the fresh air rejuvenated her skin. Winter was in full bloom, but it wasn't the evil, cold, and dark winter that Narnians were used to. It was a magical, warm winter. The air was crisp but just enough so you enjoyed it. She rode into the woods, only slowing when she saw something eerily familiar. She stopped Penelope and jumped off, the snow crunching underneath her feet.
The lamp post.
Y/N grinned. It was still here. She walked closer, feeling at home with the old piece of infrastructure. She walked further into the woods, remembering the way back to the Spare Oom, as Tumnus so lovingly called it, perfectly. The flashbacks flooded back, and she grinned as she reminisced back to when they were just children. A chill ran down her back as she made contact with a rather furry branch. She kept walking forward, seeing the crack of the door until a voice called out.
"Y/N!"
She gasped, throwing herself out of the wardrobe. Walking back to the lamp post, butterflies fluttered incessantly at the sight of Peter and his disheveled hair. He looked nervous, and she blushed; it was sweet to see how much he cared.
She smiled lightly, walking closer to him. "Hello."
He nodded. "Hello."
Y/N cleared her throat. "Is something wrong-"
"You weren't there. This morning." He coughed, running a hand through his disheveled hair. "Imagine my surprise when I rolled over and you were no longer there."
She sighed. "Peter-"
"I understand. We don't have to talk about it again; we can just forget it happened-"
"I don't want to forget."
He looked up, tilting his head. "You don't?"
"No. I don't." She put her hand on his arm, smiling. "I had a nice time. I just needed some fresh air, that's all."
He nodded. "Ah." He grabbed her hand delicately and kissed the back, his eyes locked on hers. "You scared me."
"I'm sorry." She brought her other hand up to his cheek, caressing it softly. "I didn't mean to scare you."
He sighed, and she stood on her tiptoes, kissing his lips softly. "Do you forgive me now?"
He didn't respond, and she kissed him once more, more passionately than the first. He’d almost melted into the ground. Wrapping an arm around her waist, he pulled her closer, murmuring against her lips. "You're forgiven."
"Oh thank Aslan, I was worried for a second."
He rolled his eyes. "As if I could ever be mad at you. "
Tumblr media
Y/N squealed as Peter helped her off her horse and twirled her around. She grinned down at him, and he looked up at her like she was the moon and the stars.
A cough echoed through the empty stables. "Are we interrupting?"
Her eyes widened, and she pushed herself away from Peter. "No, not at all."
Peter looked down at her with a humorous glint in his eye. "Not at all?"
She hissed at him, pulling his ear down to her level. "We are in the presence of your family, Peter. Try to hold yourself together for a moment." He smirked, whispering back. "That's going to be difficult."
Edmund sighed. "Are you done?"
Y/N nodded. "Yes, yes, we're done." She pat Peter's arm lightly. "I'll see you at dinner, Peter."
Peter watched her take two steps, and he just couldn't stand it anymore. He grabbed her wrist as she tried to walk away and pulled her back towards him. She looked up at him, her eyes wide. She shook her head slowly, and he smiled reassuringly before looking up. He cleared his throat and looked up at his siblings. "Y/N and I have something to tell you."
Susan sighed. "Peter, you did not elope-"
They both turned red, shaking their heads quickly. "No! No!" Y/N looked up at him, and he smiled brightly. "We’re courting."
Susan crossed her arms and decided she would bring up the fact that she knew Y/N had been in his room for a different time.

There are two soldiers in a cave, waiting for rescue. One is a king; the other, one of his subjects. He is sitting upright, alternating between anxiously scanning the mouth of the cave for intruders and staring back down at the girl. She is less active, but that is due in part to the ever growing pool of blood underneath her ribs.
They have been here for quite some time already, and although the king will not admit it, he fears that it will be quite some time again before they are rescued. He must have faith, though, for both of them. It is hard not to worry. Not when Peter Pevensie can picture so plainly how they got here, and why they were forced into the cave to begin with.
They were not supposed to be attacked, but it happened anyway. Narnia is a kingdom, and kingdoms fall. Rival kings lust for power that isn’t theirs, and peaceful homelands must rally to protect themselves. Soldiers turn to bitter struggles, cowards turn to run. You had two choices when the banner of war was lifted:  stay and fight, or leave and live.
You chose to stay. Will that be what kills you, wanting to be there for your friends? No one can tell for certain, but your blood is darkening the stones beneath you with a deeper stain than you’d like, and the thought of rescue is quite far off. There is no guarantee that anyone will reach you in time, regardless of what Peter is trying to whisper to you. There is no guarantee that you can hear him at all anymore.
Instead, you can hear him yesterday morning, strangely strong despite the early hour of the morning. Narnian spies had come back around dawn bearing news of an approaching army, one that didn’t look friendly. The Pevensies had been carefully monitoring threats to their kingdom for years, but no one could tell for sure that one would attack until they were already on horseback with hands on weapons.
There had been limited time for defense. Peter had rallied his army and their allies, and his siblings frantically evacuated the surrounding townspeople to a safer location, all the while battening down the hatches at home so that Cair Paravel would not be taken. Battle plans were drafted long ago, but it is one thing to write them up in the safety of peace, and something else entirely to have to use them.
The attackers didn’t arrive until midday. They gave an announcement that Narnia was to surrender peacefully or fall violently. Standing on the ramparts of the castle, looking down on the swarms of soldiers, you could feel anger burning in your chest at the insult of it all. As if Narnia would fall to a paltry foe like some neighboring king. As if there was any among your ranks that would not fight to their last breath to defend their kingdom.
Peter had given an answer somewhat along those lines, although, as coached by Susan, with a little more tact. You could tell he was fighting to keep his rage in check, though, if the red crescents imprinted into his palms from where his fingernails had bit into his palms were any sort of warning sign.
After that, the only thing left was to go to war. Before the fighting started, Peter had pulled you aside and asked if you really wanted to do this. You were a soldier of Narnia, a force fighting for good, but more than that, you were his friend, and Peter did not want to lose anyone if he could avoid it.
Tucked into a quiet alcove of Cair Paravel, golden hair rusted over with the shadows of the dark corner, Peter’s hands had tightened around yours as he said, “You can leave now, Y/N. If you want to. I want you to be safe.”
You had shaken your head. “Absolutely not. Narnia is my home, Peter. I can’t leave when she needs me.”
Peter had sighed ruefully, but the spark of pride behind his worried expression had told you what you wanted to know the most:  having you there with him meant more than he could possibly describe. The two of you are friends, just friends, but sometimes, you think that the sort of friendship you have with him has long outstripped any sort of bond of camaraderie either of you have held with anyone else. If you die, you will do it by his side. If he falls, he wants you there to see it.
Thus the battle was waged. You donned your armor as quickly as you could, grabbing your weapons before helping the other soldiers. It was time to defend your homeland. No cause could be more important. No risk could be as worthy.
The sun is setting over the hills; Peter cannot see much of it, tucked into the cave as the two of you are, but the loss of light is enough to cause him significant worry. The attackers, although arrived around noon the previous day, had waited until the dark of night to close their ranks and begin the fight. It had added a deadly edge of danger to an already perilous battle, what with the reduced visibility.
The battle had been fought well through the night and into the next dawn, but Peter is not sure that another midnight spent in this stone refuge will prove a good idea for either of you. Mainly for you; Peter looks down again, noticing that your eyes flutter closed more than they stay open, and your skin looks dull and tired even without the loss of light. He pulls you closer to him, shuts his eyes, and prays to anyone who will hear, anyone worthwhile listening, that someone will save you. Not even him. It just has to be you.
Night falls and you hear the clang of steel against steel reverberating around you. Your soldiers, though kept in rigorous practice, have not been to war in a while. They do not exercise the cruelty that the enemy fighters seem to have in spades. What you do have is heart, though, and Narnia has taught you that even the most formidable of odds can be overturned in time.
Slowly, surely, light begins to creep over the sky, and the Narnians manage to push their attackers back from Cair Paravel, over the uneven, rocky ground and towards the mountains once more. Smooth ground twists itself with stone outcroppings, making the fight even trickier than it was before. You step over bodies on the ground, unable to tell whether they are friend or foe, but you force yourself to keep your head. It would not do to lose control now.
Dawn is upon you at last, touching rosy fingers over scarlet blood and pearlescent bone. There is no such thing as a good fight, an honorable war, and if you return home, the lingering knowledge of what has been done upon this land will sit with you for a long time to come. When you come home, that is. After all of this, you must survive. Narnia must survive.
A shout, a scream; soldiers pour over the hills again, and you realize with a chill that your enemies had reinforcements in line, waiting for something like this to happen. You managed to get yourself stuck on the outskirts of the battle in an attempt to go after some higher ranking officials in the enemy army, and now you’re lost in the downstream current of dozens of opposing soldiers flooding towards you.
Too many for you to fight by yourself, that much is certain, but you have no choice now. They encircle you, and even as you manage to take down some, there are too many of them. One raises his sword as you parry another soldier, and when you blink, it has pierced your armor, threading your ribs. It doesn’t hurt and then it does, an agony like lightning rattling through your entire body.
You might scream, you’re not sure of it. You wait for them to kill you, but strangely enough, the death blow does not come. Someone catches you before you fall, and the early morning sun shines on golden curls. Peter. He’s found you, somehow, in the tumult of the battle. You can just hear him shouting to his men that he’s going to take you to cover, and then he’s picked you up, cradling you in his arms like a bride, and running for shelter.
There’s a cave not far from here. Peter stumbles in, twisting past boulders and turns in the tunnel before he gently puts you down behind the cover of a rocky outcropping. There are too many of them out there, running past the mouth of the cave, so Peter does not dare leave you even when you tell him that you’ll be fine. It is a lie. He knows it. He stays.
Peter tells you that, despite the arrival of the enemy reinforcements, he believes the battle will be settled in favor of the Narnians. The enemy fighters were desperate, they knew they were going to lose, which was why they called in more men. They’re still being forced past the Narnian borders, though, even with a king and a soldier pulled out of the fight like this.
Peter won’t risk leaving you, not with the precarious shape you’re in. Besides, the landscape is so messed up with rocks that he is not sure that he could find this particular cave if he steps outside of it to fight again. You can hear the shouts of men, but neither of you can tell whether they’re Narnian or not. To shout back is to risk death.
Instead, the two of you stay there in the cave, feeling the hours tick by, unable to do a thing about it. Peter grows more restless as you grow more still. He tells you that his siblings will look for the two of you, that when they come, you will be safe.
“We’ll be fine,” he says, voice unnaturally slow, like a schoolboy repeating a lesson he’s learned by heart, “We’ll be fine.” You’re not entirely sure if he believes it.
And then it is dark again, and there is still no one here. Peter does not know if you are alive. He is telling himself that you are, because to keep up desperate hope is far better than giving in to the fear that he has lost you like this. There is a chance you have survived; the enemy soldier who hit you had slashed you across the front instead of stabbing you directly, which is what Peter did when he stumbled upon the scene and realized that he was about to lose the only person that matters to him more than anything else. We all have our demons, our secrets.
A scratching sound at the mouth of the cave, somewhat like a mouse but heavier, too, more purposeful. Could an enemy soldier have come back to finish the job? They may not have been able to take Cair Paravel, but they could at least slaughter the High King while they were running away.
Peter feels his entire body tense, his hand resting on his sword. He dares not draw it, too afraid of risking the noise. He’ll fight for both of them if he has to. He’ll keep them alive a little longer. Y/N does not stir by his side.
And then– a voice, just a few meters away. “Peter?”
It’s his sister. It’s Susan. Peter lets out a gasp of relief that could be a sob and calls back as loudly as he dares, “Susan?”
A clattering of footsteps and three siblings descend into the cave. Edmund’s eyes are wide and scared, but the fear starts to go away when Peter carefully gets to his feet and pulls his younger brother into an embrace. Ed starts to say something about how he thought– he thought– but Peter says it’s okay, he is not hurt, but then the words roll back on his tongue because Y/N is not okay, and therefore he cannot be, either.
Lucy has already found her friend lying motionless on the ground and hurriedly rummages through the small red bag on her side, reaching for the healing cordial she received so long ago. She carefully lets a few drops fall onto Y/N’s mouth, and the entirety of several millennia passes before Y/N coughs quietly and starts to sit up.
Peter falls to his knees, wrapping his arms around her. Distantly, he hears Susan ushering his siblings away, something about wanting to give them space, but he does not care, he does not care because she is alright, Y/N is alright, and that means he is, too, very much alright.
Y/N whispers in his ear, voice still hoarse but healing, slowly. It’s okay, they have time. “You stayed?”
“Yes,” Peter says back, choking on some unnameable emotion, “I did. I would never leave you, Y/N. I– I love you. You know that.”
She does. “I love you too,” she says, and Peter can find it within himself to smile at last, to help her up, to walk back with her to the castle. They have time. It is okay. They will all, somehow, be alright after this, and that means that far fewer worries crown Peter’s head tonight and all nights after that.

The clash of swords and human speech could be heard outside the castle gates. You gripped your sword in your hands and looked back at your soldiers behind you. It was a small group of centaurs, fauns and beasts who were ready to die for Narnia and Aslan. They knew they had no chance of winning, but they were determined. The courage of the Narnians gave you strength. You closed your eyes and an image of Peter appeared in front of you. It made your heart ache…
…You went out into the courtyard of the castle and called out to Susan. She was standing by her horse and preparing bags for a short walk through the woods. As soon as she saw you, a warm smile lit up her face.
— There you are, — you breathed a sigh of relief, — you do remember that I need your help trying on a wedding dress? — Seeing your worried look, Susan took your hands in hers reassuringly.
— Of course! This trip won't take long time.
— I'd like to be there, too, — Peter said, suddenly appearing behind you. He hugged you and kissed you on the temple.
— No, you will see it only on the wedding day! — you tried to make a serious face, but the feeling of endless happiness was so strong that you immediately smiled and kissed Peter on the cheek.
— Get a room already! — Edmund, who had just entered the courtyard with Lucy, muttered in displeasure. The girls laughed. Peter reluctantly walked away and mounted his horse. He looked at you with his deep blue eyes. His gaze was always full of adoration and tenderness. You couldn't help but be fascinated by him.
— Don't miss us here. We'll be back soon.
— Yes, take care of Narnia while we're gone, — Edmund said, after which the kings and queens left Cair Paravel.
Neither of Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy returned that day. They did not return the next day either. The guards you sent to look for Pevensie found their horses deep in the woods, not far from Mr. Tumnus's house, near a lantern. All their belongings were still there, but the kings and queens were nowhere to be found. Is it worth describing the pain you felt in those days? Your wedding to Peter was a few months away. It was planned that the whole of Narnia would celebrate for several days. But the feast turned into mourning.
The first time you didn't leave your bedroom. The tears on your cheeks didn't have time to dry. You didn't understand what was going on. Where's Peter? Why did he leave you? Where did Edmund, Susan and Lucy go? You sent the best bloodhounds to look for them, but to no avail. Mr. Tumnus tried to help you in some way, but you refused to eat, walk, and socialize. There was an emptiness in your heart that was filled only with a lingering feeling of longing and sadness. You waited for Mr. Tumnus to come just to find out if there was any information about kings and queens, but the faun just sadly turned away.
One rainy evening, you decided to lock up all your feelings. The pain of losing loved ones has been tormenting you for too long. One of those memories was the beautiful wedding dress that you never wore. You picked up Peter's sword and tore the hem of your dress with one swing. You continued, and the tears continued to flow from your eyes. It felt like every blow was stabbing into your heart. When you fall on the floor, you felt a little better. There will be no more reminders of a happy future, so you can give up hope and move on.
So the years passed. The Narnians trusted you, so they chose you as their queen until the Pevensie return. You ordered the things of the kings and queens to be packed and hidden in a hiding place. Maybe they'll come back, but you should be with Narnia now. You took on this responsibility for them. The last time you saw Pevensie, you promised that you would take care of Narnia. Even if you have to give up your life…
You opened your eyes abruptly when the massive doors swung open with a loud bang. The Telmarines began to storm Cair Paravel. You waved your hand, giving the command to the archers to shoot. The dense line of soldiers thinned out a bit, but there were still too many of them. The Telmarines surrounded you, it was all over.
— You can't escape, Narnians, — the army commander said in disgust. He aimed his sword at you, — you will die first.
One of your soldiers tried to protect you, but you signaled for him to return to the ranks. Yes, it's possible that you and your squad will meet death here, but you've given the rest of the Narnians enough time to hide in the woods. Perhaps the kings and queens will return soon, then they can save Narnia again. But not you. The last thing you remember that day was the bright blue sky that could be seen through the ruined ceiling of the once beautiful Cair Paravel.

Hi i love ur writing. Sorry this is long but could you do a Caspian x pevensie!reader whose susan’s twin and like he chose her over susan and like they meet in prince caspian and fall in love and he “proposes” but then she can’t come back to narnia.
BUT THEN… she goes back with E Lucy and Eustace(whose kinda her enemy in a funny way) for some reason and she’s with Caspian and it’s just them on the Dawn Treader and Lucy tells caspian how sad she’s been the year they were back.
Can it just be really angsty and fluffy at the same time🤭🤭

Prove Her Wrong
pairing: Dawn Treader!King Caspian x Pevensie!fem!reader warnings: angst obviously, dw it's also fluffy, mentions of drowning (no one actually does, but it feels like it for a moment), amicable banter, pining, regretting decisions, use of y/n (I'm so sorry) summary: both you and caspian have been miserable a/n: aahh, I love this idea so much! Also, thank you for giving me an excuse to watch the movies again, really needed that. I did kind of twist the plot to make it fit better, but I hope you like it nonetheless. Sorry it took this long to write it, my schedule's been packed for the last couple of weeks, I hope the fic makes up for it. wc: 2.6k

It had all happened too fast to comprehend. One second, you're standing in your cousin's room looking at a painting. The next, you're engulfed in a massive ocean trying to keep your head above the surface.
Too busy looking for the younger children, you hadn't even noticed the change in the atmosphere. Everything had gotten a little brighter, the air more fresh, the sky more clear. But you were preoccupied trying to make it out alive as the currents tried to pull you below the surface.
"Lucy!? Edmund!?" You yell out with what little breath you had left. "Eustace!? Anyone, where are you!?"
Somewhere to your right (or left, seeing as you had no sense of direction anymore), you heard a faint voice you recognised as your younger sister calling out for you.
"Lucy!" You manage to get out as you try to swim towards her. As you come closer, you were able to make out the two boys as well.
"What happened, where are we?" Eustace calls out, arms flailing around him as he tries to keep his head above water.
You share a fleeting look with your younger brother and sister, and something in your gut tells you you know exactly where you are.
"We're back, aren't we?" Edmund asks, confirming your suspiscion. But before you can answer his question, a ship dooms up, and it was approaching you rapidly.
"Swim!" You shouted, trying to put a safe distance between you and the ship while also trying to keep the others closeby.
You heard a few loud plunges into the water, and when you turned around for a moment, you saw some of the crewmembers swimming towards you. A moment later, you felt a pair of strong hands wrap around your waist.
"It's alright, I've got you." An all too familiar voice reassures you. You turned around, only to be met with a slightly older version of the man you had been forced to leave behind the last time you had left Narnia.
"Caspian..." You say breathlessly as you look into his eyes.
"Y/n..." He responds, equally out of breathe and clearly both surprised and confused to see you here.
Together with the other crewmates, he helps you onto the ship, even Eustace who is screaming fire and demanding to back to England. Someone hands you a warm blanket, which you gladly accept and drape around your shoulders. You glance at Caspian, and for a moment your gazes lock, before he is pulled away by Edmund.
"Did you call for us?" He asks, to which Caspian shakes his head.
"No, I didn't. Not this time, at least," Caspian answers, glancing over to you once more as he does.
You're interrupted by a shrieking Eustace, who is swatting away a large mouse sitting on his chest.
"Get this filthy animal off of me!" He screeches as he scrambles backwards.
"Pretty sure that mouse is far cleaner than you are, Eustace," You say as you roll your eyes and shake your head. "It's good to see you again, Reepicheep."
"It is a delight to see you as well, Your Majesties," He responds, bowing down for a moment.
Caspian walks up to the stairs that lead to the quarterdeck and addresses the crew. "Men, behold our castaways: Edmund the Just, Lucy the Valient and Y/n the Righteous; High King and Queens of Narnia."
All the men on the ship went down on their knees and bowed deeply in respect of you. No matter how many times you had been called Queen, it always sent shivers down your spine.
Caspian led the three of you towards the King's quarters, which doubled as his study, leaving Eustace in the care of the crew, who had fainted when he had seen Tavros the minotaur. You had been given some dry clothes that fit you like a glove, although your shirt was a little big and had a vaguely familiar scent to it.
In the middle of the room, a huge map of Narnia was sprawled out across the table. You scanned over it, your finger absently tracing the coastal lines as you lightly smiled to yourself. You wouldn't admit it out loud, but you had missed being here when you were back in England.
With Peter and Susan off to America, you been left to stay at your aunt and uncle's house with your younger siblings. At first, you had thought it wildly unfair to be stuck in England whilst your older brother and twin-sister got to live with your parents across the Atlantic ocean.
Eventually, you had calmed down and accepted your fate. Most of the time, you could be found lightly fidgeting with the one possession you had been able to take back with you from your last adventure in Narnia; a simple silver ring you kept on a piece of string around your neck. It reminded you of a time where you didn't feel like the second option, a feeling that haunted you often when being compared to your twin.
"It has been three years since we won Narnia back from my uncle," Caspian explains as he points towards the map, "There is peace in the entire country now."
"And have you found yourself a Queen in those three years?" Lucy asks, making you look up from the map. She truly didn't mean any harm with the question, but Edmund lightly nudges her side and gives her a stern look.
"No," Caspian says with a light chuckle to alleviate the tension, "not one to compare with your sister..."
"Hang on," Edmund interrupts, "But if there's no wars to fight, and no one's in trouble... then why are we here?"
"That's a good question. I've been asking myself the same thing," Caspian answers. "Before I tried to take the throne back from my uncle, he went after my father's closest advisors, the seven Lords of Telmar. They fled to the Lone Islands, but no one has heard from them since."
"So you think something's happened to them?"
"Well, if it has, it's my duty to find out," Caspian says rather solemnly. He looks over at you, trying to get a read on you, but your eyes are glued to the map in front of you.
"What's east of the Lone Islands?" Lucy asks, pointing towards the map where it just says The Great Eastern Ocean.
"Unchartered waters," Drinian, the captain, answers. "Things you could barely imagine. Tales of sea serpents and worse..."
"Sea serpents?" Edmund asks, his face lighting up at the sound of something dangerous to battle against.
"Alright, Captain, that's enough of your tall tales," Caspian interrupts. "You are free to go wherever you want on this ship, it is as much yours as it is mine."
It's a silent cue for Edmund and Lucy to go with the captain and explore the ship, while you stay in the quarters, leaning against the table, your eyes still locked on the parchment. After the door shuts, Caspian speaks up once again.
"Can you at least look at me?" He asks, his voice much softer and hesitant now. "Please?"
You lightly sigh as you look up at him, your eyes instantly finding his. "I'm sorry I left," You say truthfully, even though you sound rather defeated.
"Don't apologise, I- I shouldn't have asked you to stay." This time, it's Caspian who lets his head fall and gaze upon the map. "I knew you couldn't, yet I asked you anyway. I am sorry, for putting you in that position, that was selfish."
"It's alright," You somewhat reassure him, "Aslan knows I would have been just as selfish had roles been reversed. But we can't change the past, and we mustn't let it stand in the way of our future." You take a deep breath as you take a step closer to him. "You deserve a bright future filled with happiness, Caspian. Don't let me stand in the way of that by holding onto something that can't be."
It's the right thing to say, the logical thing to say. You're from a different world, there's no way of knowing if you'll be able to stay in this one after the adventure is over. It guts you to the core to walk out of the King's quarters, it tears your heart apart, but you try to shake it off as you go out onto the main deck.
Luckily for you, you're able to take your mind off of it when you notice your cousin Eustace talking to a regular seagull.
"What on Earth are you doing talking to a bird?" You say, a somewhat smug tone laced in your voice. You're called the Righteous, not the Humble, and for good reason.
"I just assumed that-" Eustace begins, his face turning a light shade of pink.
"That just because a mouse can talk, so must a bird?" Maybe it's a coping mechanism for the shattered heart in your chest, but you let out a light chuckle. "Oh cousin, you have a lot to learn about how things work here. Good to know you can't claim to be the smartest person in every realm." You shake your head and hear a few crewmen chuckle along.
The sky gets darker as the evening falls, and the crew celebrates the your arrival with festive spirits. Sea shanties are sung, dancing goes hand in hand with a lot of laughter and a couple of bottles of liquor are brought out.
Despite the gloomy thoughts that have been haunting you for the day (and the days before that), you laugh and leap along with the crewmen. Even Eustace loosens up a little, although keeping it modest. The only one who seems unaffected by the joyious celebrations is the king, who sits on the staircase and watches the others, or rather, watches you.
At some point, he is joined by Lucy, who due to her young age can't participate in the drinking and adult activities. She sits down next to him and keeps quiet for a little while, before speaking up.
"What's bothering you, Caspian?" She asks softly. "Is it the Lords?"
"For the first time in a long time, it actually isn't, my friend," He says truthfully, letting out a sigh. "It feels like even when she is this close, she is still worlds away."
He didn't have to say your name in order for Lucy to understand. It's the same way you didn't need to mention his whenever she would find you staring mindlessly at the wall or out the window back in England. You would always have that same tragic look in your eyes while you fidgeted with the ring around your neck, no matter how hard you would try to mask it whenever Lucy got your attention.
"You know, she feels the same way right now," Lucy responds, feeling incredibly sorry for both your misery.
"She's evidently better at coping with it than I am." The words came out more bitter than intended, but Lucy couldn't really blame him.
"Out here, maybe. But back in England," She refrained from saying 'back at home', never having been able to call it home when she had missed Narnia too much. "Back in England, she was a mess. A beautiful, poised and collected mess, but crumbling down on the inside."
Caspian didn't speak up, but simply looked sorry and felt even more remorseful than he already had.
"She kept the ring, you know," Lucy continues, "Oh, she would never say it out loud, but it was obvious she regretted leaving Narnia, leaving you most of all. I'm pretty sure she would give anything to stay this time around, if you'd ask her again."
"She told me to let go of a future with her, said she didn't want to stand in the way of my happiness," Caspian argues solemnly, "Sounded a lot like she wanted to move on from all of this."
"That's what she thinks is the right thing to do, because it makes more sense," Lucy counters. "Prove to her that it isn't."
With that, she stands up from the stairs and walks out into the crowd. Turning around one last time, she says:
"Oh, and maybe do something about the beard, it might remind her of the man she fell in love with."
Caspian lightly rolls his eyes at her comment, but decides to take her up on it nonetheless when he retired to the barracks below deck. For the sake of privacy, he had given his quarters to you and Lucy to stay in while you were on the ship.
Later that night, when everyone was passed out in their beds, Caspian went onto the deck to get some fresh air, where he soon notices you, leaning on the railing while you looked up at the stars.
"Still having trouble sleeping?" He asks as he stands next to you.
"Insomnia doesn't go away so easily, it seems," You softly chuckle, having to do a double take when you notice he has shaved. "I was almost getting used to that beard, but I'm glad you shaved it off any way."
"What is it with the hostility against my facial hair?" Caspian comments as he raises an eyebrow at you. "I thought it made me look ruggedly handsome."
"Who'd you have to look ruggedly handsome for before we showed up today?" You ask in a mocking way, making you lightly snicker when Caspian takes on a defensive tone. "Oh, stop it, I was merely teasing."
"Teasing, are you now?" He asks, a mischievous glint sparking up in his eyes as he leans in just a little. "That's not very Queen-like behaviour, now is it?"
You lightly sigh, letting your head fall for a moment before you speak up. "Perhaps I've gotten a bit rusty," You note, "I haven't been a Queen for a while now, you know?"
"Oh, don't worry, it's like riding a horse," Caspian assures you, "It's not something you can unlearn, even if you don't practice anymore."
"Well, maybe it's a good thing. Might make the next time I leave more easy..."
"You're still planning on leaving after this adventure?" Caspian asks, his voice growing a little more quiet. "You can stay, you do know that, right? You did the first time, surely you can-"
"Caspian, please," You interrupt him, pushing away from the railing and taking a few steps back, "It's too difficult, you know that. I can't just leave my family behind, and I can't ask them to stay."
"You don't have to do that. I am certain there's a way for you to move freely between realms," Caspian suggests, "And if there isn't, we'll find a way. Somehow, things like this have a way of working out."
He takes a step towards you, reaching out but refraining from touching you just yet. "Besides," He continues, "Time goes by much slower there than it does here right? We can figure this out and they won't even notice you're not there."
He searches for your eyes as he takes another step towards you, a silent longing in his eyes as he does. "You don't have to come with an answer right now. Whether it's tomorrow, next week or at the very last second, I don't care as long as you're certain that whatever you choose is something you actually want, not what you think is right."
You close your eyes for a moment and take a deep breath. "Okay," You say after a while. Your eyes are still closed, but a small creeps up on your lips.
"Okay?" Caspian echoes, his eyes sparking up, even though he's not sure he heard you correctly.
"Yeah," You say, opening your eyes to look into his. "Okay, I'll stay. But I might change my mind if you don't come here and kiss me, because-"
Luckily, he cuts you off mid-sentence by pulling you in and effectively using his lips to shut you up. You can feel him smile against your lips, and you can't help but reciprocate the gesture while your hands run up into his hair.
