The Magic Thief by Sarah Prineas (2008-2014)
In a city that runs on a dwindling supply of magic, a young boy is drawn into a life of wizardry and adventure. Nevery finds that interesting, and he takes Conn as his apprentice on the provision that the boy find a locus stone of his own. But Conn has little time to search for his stone between wizard lessons and helping Nevery discover who--or what--is stealing the city of Wellmet's magic.

Furthermore by Tahereh Mafi (2016-2017)
There are only three things that matter to twelve-year-old Alice Alexis Queensmeadow: Mother, who wouldn't miss her; magic and color, which seem to elude her; and Father, who always loved her. The day Father disappears from Ferenwood he takes nothing but a ruler with him. But it's been almost three years since then, and Alice is determined to find him. She loves her father even more than she loves adventure, and she's about to embark on one to find the other.
But bringing Father home is no small matter. In order to find him she'll have to travel through the mythical, dangerous land of Furthermore, where down can be up, paper is alive, and left can be both right and very, very wrong. It will take all of Alice's wits (and every limb she's got) to find Father and return home to Ferenwood in one piece. On her quest to find Father, Alice must first find herself--and hold fast to the magic of love in the face of loss.

One of my goals for 2024 is to get more people involved in Fandom. I love the communities here on Tumblr & there are so many great & clever people on here who carry so much knowledge. However, that knowledge can & should be shared - at least in my opinion - & an easy way to do that is to get involved on Fandom & their wikis.
Now, I promise, it's not intimidating - if you can create & edit a Tumblr post, you can edit articles & pages on a wiki. Here, you can find an easy step-by-step guide on how to get started with contributing, but you can also message me & maybe I can help guide you through any question marks.
For this first post, I want to highlight some wikis dedicated to children's literature that need some help & love from their fans:
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland - the pages linked here need to be expanded, so if you know something, don't be shy :)
Amelia's Notebooks - the pages linked here need to be expanded
The Blackwell Pages - all pages need to be expanded on
Bone - the pages linked here need to be expanded
Boxcar Children - links need to be added to these pages
Children of the Lamp - the pages linked here need to be expanded
Charlie Bone/The Children of the Red King - all pages need to be expanded on
The Chrestomanci Series - links need to be added to these pages
Emily of New Moon - the pages linked here need to be expanded
Endling - links need to be added to these pages
----
The Green Ember - the pages linked here need to be expanded
Howl's Moving Castle - all pages need to be expanded on
Jumanji - links need to be added to these pages
Little House on the Prairie - add links from IMDb, TV.com & TV Guide to each episode's page, plus the complete cast & crew for each episode
The Magic Thief - all pages need to be expanded on
The Magic Tree House - links need to be added to these pages
The Magisterium - the pages linked here need to be expanded
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children - the pages linked here need to be expanded
Night Speakers - the pages linked here need to be expanded
Ruby Redfort - the pages linked here need to be expanded
----
The School for Good and Evil - links need to be added to these pages
Septimus Heap - the pages linked here need to be expanded
The Sisters 8 - all pages need to be expanded on
The Three Investigators - links need to be added to these pages
Tom Sawyer/Huckleberry Finn - all pages need to be expanded on
The Underland Cyclopedia - the pages linked here need to be expanded
The Unwanteds Series - links need to be added to these pages
Warhorse - all pages need to be expanded on
Wonder - pages for the cast and crew of the Wonder film need to be added
Zathura - all pages need to be expanded on
Now, this is quite an extensive list, but if your favourite book or series isn't mentioned here, I suggest checking out the literature page, the book club or go to this page & simply search for your favourite book/series/author.
To repeat what I said at the beginning of this post, there is a step-by-step guide on how to start contributing, but don't be shy to message me if you have any questions :)

I ADORE characters that just have something subtly wrong with them. Just the slightest thing that makes them uncanny, like they don’t belong in that world.
Like how the Darkling has looked 17 for centuries.
Or how Miguel has claws instead of spider grip.
Or how Nimona’s eyes reflect light like a cat’s.
Or how Connwaer never got sick.
Or Achilles hair being gold while everyone else’s was brown.
You know, just little things that’s say “this one is different. This one is not like us.”

I am perhaps the only person on the planet who remembers the Magic Thief book series lmao but it was my fave as a kid
(For those who don’t know wtf these books are: Crowe is Maggie’s brother, Embre wing is Crowe’s son, and Connwaer is Maggie’s son. I wanted to practice drawing family members without accidentally drawing them completely identical lol)

I really love The Magic Thief because Conn is such an enticing protagonist (all sassy and snarky but 90% of it is his internal narration, not spoken aloud, he observes so much, and he's clever!) and also because Nevery, despite his seeming aloofness and the *gestures* crotchety old wizard vibes of him, he's JUST as chaotic as Conn

Did I just impulsively make another discord server? Yeah maybe.
I've made a book club server! I've started re-reading a list of books I've loved in the past and I want to talk to people about them, so if you've read any of the following books, are interested in them, or want to hear me talk about them, here's my current list: Deltora Quest, The Magic Thief, Ranger's Apprentice, The Paladin Prophecy, and Foundling. The list will absolutely expand, and feel free to recommend books :]

Ok so,
I have malidaptive daydreaming. Basically I create intense and specific scenarios in my head about whatever, and then I either do traditional daydreaming all day OR i act them out for hours at a time repetitively.
Another thing to add is: a lot of my hyperfixations are books especially The Magic Thief.
So I daydream a lot of different scenarios about The Magic Thief. All. The. Time.
Now onto the point: If I wrote down a few of my scenarios and turned them into multiple chapter fanfics, would you read them?
