Okay wait in the momward/bessie AU how do you think Kat’s friends would react to finding out about Bessie?

Well, for starters, Anne would be thrilled. She had been the one to take care of Kat when she was pregnant. She had refused to let Kat stay in school, instead convincing her parents to come live with her and take online school until she gave birth, then she could go back. She didn’t want her little cousin to be teased or mocked by the other students, so she got pulled out before she started to really show.

When Anne meets Bessie and sees how timid and shy she is, she would chuckle and go, “You were a quiet baby.” Which prompts Bessie to ask what she meant by that. Anne goes on to tell her how she came out crying, naturally, but went silent the moment she was put into Kat’s arms and wouldn’t make a noise besides giggling and cooing UNLESS she was held by anyone else. Anne laughs and said Bessie whines loudly when she tried to hold her, but shut up instantly when put back into Kat’s arms. (She leaves out theoart where baby Bessie wouldn’t stop crying after she was given away...)

There was one time, however, that Anne got to hold Bessie but she fucking swears on her life the baby was glaring at her the entire time. She would bounce her and talk to her in French, which erased the “glare” with a very confused look before she started giggling. It’s one of Anne’s favorite memories.

Cleves would also be very happy for Kat. Even though she’s a close friend, she actually had no idea Kat had a baby. They were college friends, so they met after Kat gave birth, and there was really never a good time to bring it up. However, she makes an effort to try and make Bessie feel comfortable for Kat.

And I like to imagine Kat and Aragon being costars, so she was the first one to find out. Kat went to her when she had her theories about Bessie being her daughter, but Aragon was like, “You can’t just assume someone’s kid is your kid, Katherine....” But joke’s on her because Kat was right!!
