Terrific economic news for all Americans

Friday brought a stunningly good report on increases in jobs, wages, and productivity. The report was so good that a Biden Twitter account released the Fox News commentary on the jobs report as a campaign ad! See @BidenWins, Trump Senior Advisor Larry Kudlow explains how the Biden economy deserves more credit, even from Conservatives. In short,

Inflation-adjusted wages were up 4.5%

the economy added 353,000 new jobs in January (non-farm payroll)

prior two months jobs report revised upward by 126,000

worker productivity rose 2.7%

President Biden also tweeted an important metric for Black workers:

New economic analysis shows that under President Biden, the Black unemployment rate was under 6% for a full year. That's the lowest Black unemployment in history.

The media is no longer able to sustain its negative narrative about the economy, finally admitting that President Biden’s stewardship deserves credit for the good economic news. See Politico, Biden’s economy keeps messing up Trump’s message.

Até aquele dia, eu não sabia que existia um mar. 

Ver toda aquela água me deixou nauseada. Como podia o mundo ser tão grande? 

Era como se ele fosse me engolir viva, mas estava ali, calmo, quieto. 

“Você está perdida?” alguém me perguntou, mas eu não olhei para ele. 

“Estou procurando o mural,” respondi por reflexo. Não era verdade. “O mural de empregos.”

O homem sorriu, como se soubesse exatamente do que eu estava falando. 

“Garçonete?” ele perguntou. “Eles estão loucos procurando por uma na taverna perto do cais.”

“Sim… Isso mesmo,” respondi devolvendo o sorriso.

Fora de casa, fora dos olhos de águia dela, eu precisava ser como um camaleão. Eu era local de qualquer lugar que estivesse, e, ao mesmo tempo, uma viajante que veio de qualquer lugar. 

Eu era todas as coisas e coisa nenhuma. 

Aquele foi meu primeiro emprego, mas não durou muito. Eu não queria ficar lá por muito tempo porque se ela me encontrasse, conseguiria me levar de volta. No entanto, foi o emprego mais importante que eu já tive, porque ali eu aprendi a ser alguém além da minha mãe.

Foi apenas um ano depois que ela me deixou atender o salão quando os piratas estavam presentes, mas apenas sob supervisão. 

Aos poucos, ganhei a confiança deles a ponto de receber gorjetas sempre que eles apareciam. Me chamavam de irmãzinha e me traziam alguns presentes quando voltavam de algum lugar mais distante. 

Um dia, voltaram com um homem encapuzado, que não ria ou falava como os demais. Ele era sério, mas os outros pareciam acostumados com a postura esquisita dele. 

Quando vieram me cumprimentar e me dar mais algumas conchas, ele apenas me olhou. 

“Sejam bem vindos de volta,” eu disse com o mesmo sorriso de sempre. 

Horas depois, quando quase todos os piratas já tinham ido dormir, ele se aproximou de mim no balcão e pediu uma bebida forte. 

“Você é novo na tripulação?” eu me atrevi a perguntar, porque o silêncio estava muito constrangedor. 

Ele riu enquanto bebia. 

“Eu sou um amigo de longa data, pode-se dizer.”

Naquela semana, virou uma espécie de ritual. Ele esperava todos irem dormir e vinha até o balcão para pedir algo forte. 

Eu o servia e fazia uma pergunta, e ele respondia com outro enigma. No fim das contas, eu não sabia nada sobre ele. 

Quando eles partiram, perguntei se ele voltaria e ele disse que preferia que não. 

Ele voltou. 

“O que é esse negócio na sua cintura?” eu perguntei enquanto servia sua dose naquela noite. 

Ele parecia menos irritado com as minhas perguntas, mas ainda era um homem de poucas palavras.

My aunts planned a surprise party for my other aunt (Aunt Theressa) but the party is the weekend we were gonna celebrate my birthday.
