i still can't believe the way we got to witness buck slowly come to the realization that he didn't just think that tommy was this cool firefighting pilot guy that he wanted to get to know but that he actually liked him in a way that went beyond platonic friendship and that he liked being kissed by him so much so that he momentarily lost his ability to string together a coherent sentence or do anything other than follow tommy's movements with his gaze and echoe any words tommy spoke until he left buck's apartment with a smile and a promise of a date which meant that buck was left standing there with flushed cheeks and a barely contained smile before letting out a breath of relief because being kissed by tommy had been the most pleasant of surprises and with it that weight he had been carrying all his life had been lifted off his shoulders and he finally felt free
