the best days are the ones that are storming.

truthfully, those were the most nostalgic and peaceful days for you and blade. for the first time in forever, the both of you are together, away from work, and peacefully basking in each other's presence as the two of you were silent.

blade was leaning against the wall, arms folded across his chest as his eyes were closed. you were on the couch looking through your phone, scrolling through social media and looking through all different kinds of videos that displayed on the "for you" section of the app you were on.

blade wasn't quite interested to see what was on your phone, as it was mainly consistent of irrelevant internet facts and some memes that he didn't find funny. the man never touched his phone after all, and you were the person who's always up on social media all the time. blade didn't care, but if you were to show him a post or something you saw online, he would definitely pay attention to it.

after all, whenever it came to you, he was attentive... phone or not.

"blade," you call out his name, your gaze remained fixated on the display of your device, "can you come here?"

blade didn't hesitate. he pulled himself off the wall, expecting to see some sort of unfunny meme or random "fun" fact from the internet... but instead, he was greeted by your hand in his. you gestured him to come closer, proceeding to lean against him as you sat on his lap.

he didn't mind this. he would probably be watching your phone or whatever is on it over your shoulder, now.

"also, look at this video of this guy falling down the stairs. i think it's funny."

He panted as he sheaths his blade, feeling a bit disappointed. Several years before this would have been little more than a warm up. Either he'd gotten out of practice or the bandits near Kohonagakure were better trained than he was used to. All that mattered was that he had saved those children from seeing the monster he had been during the last great war. His vision may have been gone, but it forced him to create a newer sword style. He could smell and feel the blood on his clothes and skin. The entirety of his dragon tattoo shown on his left arm, something that he and his sister had gotten once graduating from the sword school.

"Hello there, are you here to collect your friends or to help a blind man?" He said as he looked over his should to the people coming closer. He may not have been able to see, but he could sense the taller figure flanked by two shorter ones. "Unless it's the two children who left to find help. If so, My apologies for the threat."

will be attempting to explore the difference in philosophies between reader and chung myung — nihilism in that nothing you do will ever matter vs chung myung who strives to create a better future that he might not even have a chance to see. reader who can connect with people around her vs chung myung who has trouble opening up and trusting others with his burdens... among other topics i.e. reader's feeling of alienation in both lives as someone who physically does not look like she belongs in this community

It's so weird to have hyperfixations as a system cuz I'm hyperfixating on one character and the co-front on another, so it's just a constant headache of spinning characters in my head

sooo… thoughts on Malenia, Blade of Miquella vs Malenia, Goddess of Rot ?

I don't consider them separate people, just an ascension (not claiming this is canon, it's just my interpretation)

In terms of gameplay I of course prefer Goddess of Rot. It's the spectacle, the beautiful attacks and visuals, she's amazing. But my favourite part by far is her aggression. She's just so mean and fast and doesn't give any breathing room. And it doesn't feel broken too because you had an entire phase 1 to learn all of her attacks at your own pace.

AAAAH AND THE MUSIC IS SO GOOD TOO when the chorus kicks in and then drops and then gets more intense it's just so perfect for her fight, the flow of it.

The summoning horn blares once more, signaling the start of combat. Colorful decorations hanging from the walls sway from the breeze as the door to the training grounds closes, keeping the sharpest bite of the blizzard outside at bay for the combatants and spectators alike. Python eyes his opponents warily as they take to the floor. Two students with two staves. With nothing sharp to defend themselves with, it looks like an easy victory at a glance. However, the light magic they wield means they could mend each others wounds effortlessly. Python's instincts tell him his flippant remark earlier was more accurate than he thought—they really should end this as quickly as possible. "Sorry about this," he calls out breezily, only sounding about half-sincere as he draws his bow and points it at the boy with the forest green hair. "I've got a nap scheduled later that I really don't wanna miss. I'm sure you'd understand."

Python 7/7 HP hits Linhardt 8.5/8.5 HP with Blue Bow [Roll 11, -2 HP; Linhardt 6.5/8.5 HP]

He tilts his head toward his partner with a grin. "You ready to go? I was only half-kidding about that nap plan, y'know."
