Imagine you have to set up yakumo's enclosure for the next couple months. How do you set it up and what do you put in there?

oh NO.! THE PROPPHECY HAS BEenm FUFILLED

i am standing in my room, leggies rooted to the floor. i am in shock .frozen and i have no idea how to proceed. there is a perpetual pathetically sobbing serpent under my blankie.

#stares at the camera and stage whispers #i can't be responsible for another living creature. i can't. or . er. i can. but I SHOULDN'T #i'll have to suppress every violent urge in my body to keep this thing alive for several months #i CANNOT fling him out the window. i WILL NOT grab his entire face and squeeze. I SHALL NOT chew on his tail.#now i'm reminded of that post where it's a pretty princess cage on the floor and comments go [that aint big enough for a dog]#and OP is all [it's not FOR a dog 😀]#yeah. that's me right now imagining a full grown yakumo in a cage by my bedside #SO FOR EASE OF MY IMAGINATION AND TO increase yaku's chance of surviving these next months #i'm going to try real hard to imagine him exclusively in pocket snake form (scrunches up my face in valiant effort)#his enclosure (crib?!?!) is flanked on all sides by eiden plushies #since yaku is an adult there is a smaller chance of him suffocating on eiden in his sleep. wait. actually #arranges the eiden walls to give some pockets of air. i don't trust him. he WILL suffocate on eiden given the opportunity #he gets one of those tiny dollhouse cooking sets for enrichment LOL #or i'll give him a bunch of those make-your-own gummy kits with elaborate setups and tiny egg gummies #crying yaku is the excuse i need to finally get a humidifier #i can survive not misting myself.. usually... but yaku will cry himself into dehydration. it's misting time #he gets an entire alcove closed off in the corner with his basic needs met. i cannot perceive #he can lurk in privacy as much as he wants. there are at least TWO hot rocks in there with garukaru's faces painted on em #there is a duplicate open-space alcove next to it for when he actually wants something from me LOL #is he a free range snake? can i take him to a bunch of restaurants and shove food into my sleeve for him? he wants to sample the delights..#tempted to put a bell on him just so if he gets loose in the basement i'll know to fish him out #but he's pretty cautious... he won't get into any fatal situations in the house right? ...does he know how to swim?!#at least one day is reserved for testing yaku's swimming capabilities.#he is going into the bathtub while it has a film of water. gonna test his traction. i hope i won't get panic-strangled #asks

watched secret world of arrietty potentially my new favorite ghibli movie... not potentially i think it legit is

#i watched fourr movies today 2 ive seen b4 and 2 new ones... arrietty was one of da new ones #the other new one was orlando pretty good i liked how likee. artsy it was... it was very cool basically i liked it and i rly loved the #costuming #i do wish it had subtitles on site i use tho bc i had a hard time understanding.. not da movies fault bc i have a hard time comprehending #dialogue in a Lot of older movies.. but i liked it :]]#but anyways yes. one thing abt me i was obsesseddd with borrowers as a kid it was part of my fairy obsession. i was sososososooso hopelessl #delighted by the concept of tiny people who live secretly and their houses and furniture are all fashioned out of #everyday human objects it made me fucking craaazy #me and my siblings favorite activity used to be building fairy houses... we even had one playground we loved specifically #bc it had a bunch of trees with little hollowed out areas under the roots which made the best fairy houses...#we had umm. for a while this is fun my mom had this likee. sheet she made that was like.. a grading sheet for playgrounds #so everytime we went to a playground wed check the little boxes for each thing on the list it had... like we had Curly slide swingset seesa #etc... and then wed also write in anything that wasnt on the sheet that we loved #and we wrote in Great for fairy houses for a lot of them.... it was rly rly rly fun i honestly think that might be part of where my love of #spreadsheets came from.. one thing abtme i looooove to categorize things by a set metric. so yes #basically :DDD I LOVE FAIRIES I LOVE BORROWERS!!! i rly rly rly wanna get into building those little miniature houses. dollhouses whyd i sa #minihouses LOL. i was thinking of likee studson studios type thang i forget what theyre called #ik they make little kits for it so id start with that but eventually id love 2 start just making my own...#i also used to watch those like. miniature cooking videos. they were my cocomelon i would literally watch them boil a droplet of water and #Lose my fucking mind KJASBDKUBSJ #or when they put the little miniature cake in their little miniature oven... i specifically am remembering the pancakes #I NEED 2 FIND THOSE AGAIN. My friends and I had a small get together in honor of Halloween, and we ended up doing a ginger bread haunted house!

There's a few things going on but my personal favorites are these:

The tiny pumpkin patch on the side of the house 🥺 it was a pain but oh so worth it

The bat on the roof of the house with a tiny little construction-cone-looking hat (we decided they were having a little birthday party and that was his birthday hat)

The murder-scene on the other side of the house, with the suspect's footprints on the roof (we can't see it well here, but it's an orange bat in half)

i think i have given up on the yard now

there are things planted and we'll see what we'll see, but from everything i've read stuff will either die in the 110F heat or later on in a winter freeze so further $ invested may be a waste

and the only solution is to keep everything as potted-and-mobile or indoor plants

there's already been issues with ants and gnats so the impetus to leave them outside and then bring them in later is now very low

so maybe i will just have a lot of indoor plants - at least i can take them with me when i go

the one pothos is at least VERY enthusiastic and all the greenery is *so* fucking mentally soothing

... i just really want to buy so many more plants and i *have* to stop

#maybe if i liked succulents more or cared about flowers #but what i like is green and leafy and e idently none of that is really happy around here #like i have 'almost total shade' and 'lots of sun' options but nothing that will take those PLUS the stupid heat even with watering #gonna plant the the asiatic jasmine anyway just to see but then i guess just try to keep up with watering #i have two sansevieria a boston fern several pothos two peace lilies (one 3 ft) salvia sage oregano #a very sad dieffenbachia and tiny croton and some rosemary that i think gave up the ghost while the mint *may* be hanging on #got some indoor elephant ears from a kit just starting we'll see what happens and a red anne #the hostas and caladiums will come up or not idk #i just wish i knew something that would grow like these weeds lol thank goodness for the horseherb #i realized that sll i want is the same plants we had growing up but we were in sub-sealevel galveston - basically tropical #so all that won't necessarily like it here - people say hostas don't like austin :/#but we had what i'm pretty sure was the asiatic jasmine out at the front of the house and the elephantears and caladium #around the side with the ivy and the dracaena and the azaleas #everything i see that i like in the nursery ends up being labeled 'indoor plant' here #tempted to try to find some pink mulhy even though it's not 'leafy' just bc it grows here and might live #the palmetto does keep coming back after the freezes so that's something #obviously if i wanted to spend a lot my problems would be easily solved but it's not my house so i'm not buying like .. full shrubs

What's something you did as a lil kid that you were super proud of but looking back was... adorably dumb?

I wouldn’t say I was proud, but I unwrapped and ate about half of a dish sponge (brand new, not used). It was one of the really soft ones and tiny me liked the texture lol.

I was a strange child…

#answering the important questions here #I have no idea what posessed me to do such a thing #I was really young though- barely talking age #it came with my plastic toy “cleaning kit’’ with the tiny broom and dustpan and such #it came with a little duster too which I was super excited about because it meant I could help dust the baseboards in my house #I loooooooved to run around each wall #cleaning as I went #the definition of euphoria for little me #I was a boring child too I suppose…#oh well.
