Lower Decks is getting it's own panel at NY Comic Con and I was initially hopeful that maybe some new developments had come about in the last few months since the cancellation, but it also seems very much like a "farewell" panel since they managed to get the complete warp core four back together I'm surprised that there's no SNW panel since that's the new leading show, and Section 31 is coming out at some point (personally knowing paramount and streaming movies as of late I'll believe it when I see it) so hopefully this gives us a better idea at what its about.

Anyways its day one trillion of missing lower decks before it even ends

i have to shift into my headcanon mode and rewatch the first season of tng just to make stuff about tasha yar. i love her but there is so much that bothers me + i would have done differently as a ukrainian myself

#the most prominent instance is her surname ofc. who thought that naming her after babi yar (a sight near kyiv where the most brutal #massacres of the world war two took place) was a good idea. i just think of someone naming a fiction character after one of the countless #massacres that took place during the current war and it makes me sick. there is no surname like that in ukrainian as far as i am aware #just make it yaremko or yaremchuk if you want to stick with yar (why) idk?? she would also be nataliia i think?#just thought about someone calling her natalka and cried a bit i need to make some sort of content about her right NEOW #returning to the yar thing. it also basically means pit/abyss. you can imagine how it was used in the context of massacres.#just WHY who decided that it would be a good idea.#i could also say something about her unfortunate fate but this makes her a true ukrainian in my eyes. she has that dog in her (zhurba)#my post #star trek #tasha yar #just had to make a small correction the most brutal massacres of the world war two *in ukraine

i genuinely can't believe that siddig has captivated my brain for over 7 months now and every now and again he brings in some other character into my brain that fuels the hyperfixation even more. like usually when a hyperfixation starts to fade it... it fades away...? it's gone. i need like at the very least a year to even feel like "hey maybe i could like this again" but with sid it's like "ok he's gone now... never mind he's bac- ok i got another interest- wait no, hi sid- nah, this time for real i have a new hyperfixa- GOD DAMN IT HE'S BACK ??? #more specifically I’m thinking about sohm al #and how half of the journey through it is just tedious amounts of climbing/walking up a mountain #important note: eyrie and alphinaud still aren’t on the best of terms #they are cordial and kind but eyrie remains distant towards him #much more of the WoL compared to eyrie #but on the trek up the mountain there’s a patch of slick rocks #eyrie tells alphinaud to go in front of them and becuase the poor lad can’t catch a break #he ends up slipping and nearly going off the edge until eyrie grabs a hold of him #and it’s not a nice grab a hold of him. it’s a hang onto the boy for dear life and hoist him back up #carry him the rest of the way up the narrow slick path and set him down in a safe spot to look him over #it’s terrifying for the both of them but it’s hugely eye opening for alphinaud #just how scared eyrie looked when they caught him. it wasn’t the hero scared to lose an innocent life #it was *eyrie* scared to lose a friend. someone they cared about deeply even if they didn’t talk about it #it was the unknowing push they both kinda needed to work on their friendship #Estinien talks to eyrie about it at the camp near the Zenith when it’s just the two of them left awake #eyrie confiding in Estinien about the loss of their father to a similiar situation around Alphinaud’s age #and how they couldn’t bear the thought of losing the boy #estinien noticing how much eyrie cares for the boy as a father does but he keeps that to himself #shdndndn AHHH #me slapping HW this expansion can fit so much eyrie and alphinaud friendship development in it #they are dear friends. eyrie is alphinaud’s father. alphinaud continues to be the spark of hope eyrie needs #without it they would have consigned themselves to loosing estinien for the greater good #oc: eyrie kisne
