Ortho was concerned about his big brother, which was never a good sign. You knew he was worried when he asked you to meet with him on short notice. Your concern grew when you saw him pacing his room and trying to find the right words to say to you.
“Look, Ortho, dear, if it’s bad news, just tell me fast, like ripping off a band-aid.” You tried to assure him, though you weren’t sure you could handle bad news.
He paused. “I think Idia wants to propose to you.”
You blinked in shock. Well this was certainly an unexpected turn of events. Sure, you and Idia had been dating for several years, both at Night Raven and post-graduation. But you didn't think he'd be the one to want to propose. You kind of just figured that would fall to you, which you were more than okay with.
As you sat there thinking over Ortho's words, your silence only elevated his sense of worry.
"At least that's what I think." He explained. "But with how he's been acting recently, I'm almost certain he wants to propose. He's been talking about his love for you more often and I've seen him look at jewelry store websites. From my research, those are all sign's that someone wants to propose to their significant other."
“Ortho.” You say with a soft smile. “I planned on proposing to him.”
His eyes widened with shock before crinkling in the corners as he smiled. "Really?! Oh, that makes me so happy to hear! You and big brother Idia deserve each other!"
You giggled at his excitement and pulled a small box out of your pocket to show him the engagement band you  purchased a couple days ago. “See? I picked it out myself. Do you think he'll like it?”
He nodded eagerly. "Oh, he'll love it! It's very pretty! I'm so excited to have you as my sister-in-law!"
With warm cheeks, you nodded. “That is, if you’ll have me.”
“Of course! Big Brother Idia really cares for you and never stops talking about you!” He explained before quickly adding, “And I like you too, of course.”
You chuckled and patted the top of his head, much to his pleasure. “That's good to hear, Ortho. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go propose to your brother.”
“Be prepared for tears.” Ortho nodded all matter-of-fact like. "He is sure to cry a river as long as the River Styx from your proposal."
You laughed and nodded. You had no doubt Idia was going to cry. But you didn't mind. You were just excited to finally propose to him.
It surprisingly didn’t take you long to get a plan together on how to go about your proposal. You wanted to keep things simple, sweet, and all about him. You didn't want to overwhelm him more when was already going to be emotional. A nice dinner at home with all his favorite foods sounded like just the way to go. And then you would slide the ring across the table, pop the question, and boom! You two would be engaged!
You got butterflies just thinking about it!
As you were cooking in the kitchen, you heard a soft knock on the wall. There was Idia, smiling sweetly at you. "I'm home."
You returned his smile. "How was your day, dearest?"
He shrugged and watched you cook. "It was fine. And yours?"
"Not too bad."
"What are you making?"
You smile at the food on the stove, trying to ignore the butterflies in your stomach. “Your favorite.”
"Oh, really?" He sounded surprised. "Is today a special occasion? Did I forget an anniversary?!"
You chuckle and shake your head. "No, I just felt like doing something special for you. Is that alright?"
He smiled widely and nodded. "That's more than alright. Thank you, my love. Thank you very much."
"You're very welcome." You press a kiss to his cheek, making his hair burn red. "Do you mind setting the table? I'm almost done here."
He nodded and before too long, you were both eating and enjoying each other’s company at your little dining table. Of course Idia complimented your cooking, saying it was the best thing he’s ever eaten in his entire life. You listened to him talk about his day and he listened to you talk about yours. In the back of your head, you were squealing about the sweet domesticity of the moment and how the two of you would soon be doing this for the rest of your lives.
You couldn’t wait, but you planned to pop the question during dessert, so you had to be patient for just a little bit longer.
When you were done with the main meal, you mentioned dessert, and while you prepared it, he did the dishes. This was the perfect opportunity to check your pocket to make sure you still had the ring. It would be super embarrassing if you had to quickly sneak into your room to grab it. However, you had the ring. You were set and ready to put this plan into action.
You let him take a couple of bites of dessert before you took a deep breath and grabbed the ring from your pocket. Setting it on the table, you slowly slid it in between the two of you. Your eyes never left his face, gauging his reaction.
Idia’s eyes widened as he followed your hand. He had stopped chewing and stared at the ring before him. You had no idea what he was running through his head, but you wished you did. He looked thoroughly freaked out and that was the last thing you wanted. But you were too far to turn back now.
Taking a deep breath, you said, “Idia, dearest, I’ve been thinking about this for a long time and I finally came to a conclusion. I love you so much, I can’t imagine spending even a single day apart. So I want to ensure we will never have to. Will you marry me?”
There was a pause.
You held your breath.
“You-” He breathed. “You really want to marry me?”
Nodding, you answered him, “Yes, I really do. And, in case you were worried, Ortho gave me his blessing. He was practically bouncing off the walls when I told him my plan.”
He shook his head as tears welled in his eyes. “I’m not all that worried about Ortho. He already loves you. I’m just shocked about this proposal. I don’t know what to say.”
Before you could reply, he pulled a ring of his own and handed it to you sheepishly. You gasped at the simple but elegant band studded with little sparkly sapphires. It was perfect. You couldn’t have picked a better ring if you had gone with him when he purchased it.
“I’ve wanted to propose to you for the longest time, but I was just so scared. I thought you'd say no and I'd lose you forever. But now, I'm not scared anymore. You make it so that I’m not scared of anything. You have stood by me during my lowest point and continue to push me when I’m at the top of my game. You’re everything I could want and more. I would love to spend the rest of our lives together.”
Tears pricked your eyes and you whispered, “I would love to marry you too, Idia.”
He gently took your hand and slid the ring onto your finger. You put your ring on his finger, keeping hold of his hand and rubbing a thumb over his knuckles. You couldn’t help but laugh.
“It’s like we just got married with this exchange of rings.”
Idia chuckled as he said, “Well, I guess there’s only one thing left to do.”
“And that is?”
“I may now kiss the bride.”

MC figuring out their home is destroyed pt. 2
Here’s part 2, part 3 will be out at some point. I hope you enjoy this!(Hope you like dialogue)
ooc character(s)?, part 1, part 3, part 4?, masterlist ______________________________________________________________ You were acting different, everyone noticed, but no one said anything. No one had to. You have been missing from classes and other school activities, even Grim who’s your dorm mate claims he’s barely seen you. All of the teachers have been acting weird as well, especially Crowley, but none of the students mentioned a thing. At least not to the teachers. Rumors spread fast about the Ramshackle prefect who no one had seen in the past few days. Even your friends aren’t immune to hearing the gossip.
“Why’s Shrimpy hiding away from us now?” Floyd wines, he tried to go the Ramshackle himself, but he was stopped by Crowley. “And it’s not like the Dire is being any help right now.” Floyd thinks to himself for another few moments. “Maybe the mirror wasn’t able to send Shrimpy home, and this is all due to Dire Crowley’s lack of effort to get them home.”
Jade nods, Azul rolls his eyes at the twin’s efforts to find an answer. Now Jade speaks up. “Hey Azul, how about the weekly dorm leader meeting? You could try and find out what’s going on with [Y/N].”
“That’s assuming the Prefect isn’t exempt from the meeting, as they’ve been exempted from classes. They’ve been missing and the teachers haven’t said a thing, their name hasn’t even been called during roll.” Azul explains then right as he finishes, two idiots from Heartslabyul burst in.
“Floyd! Do you know how to pick locks?” Ace yells.
“Sort of, why?” Floyd responds, a grin creeping on his face.
“They want to pick the lock to Ramshackle and check on [Y/N].” Epel says as he walks in behind the Adeuce duo, Grim standing next to him.
“Hey! You’re making it sound like you’re not in on it too!” Deuce exclaims at the purple haired boy, Epel shrugs.
“Why don’t you ask Jack or Sebek?” Jade asks. “This seems to be a first-year get together.” Deuce and Ace looks at each other.
“Well we were going to ask Jack but he was in the middle of a run and we couldn’t catch up with him.” Deuce explains. “Yeah, and Sebek is..well…Sebek.” Ace adds.
“Do you actually have a plan?”
“We didn’t get that far-” “WHAT!”
Everyone turns after Epel yells, Rook, vice dorm leader of Pomefiore, is standing in the doorway. And before Epel can speak, Rooks offers an excuse. “Roi de Poison asked me to keep an eye on you. Now I’m here to help you get Trickster out of Ramshackle or at least get some answers. Now I know some more then others might be more against this then others, but breaking into Ramshackle isn’t the answer. We have to go to the person who’s most likely to have information AND answers.”
Everyone is quiet, trying to rack their brains. “Crowley” or “The Dire” or something of the sort is was blurted out by multiple people.
“Bingo.” Rook has a sly grin on his face, “Now here’s the plan…”
It’s a risky plan, everyone has to do their part. Even Crowley who is unaware of his own involvement. “Just wait for Crowley to start lurking around, then it’s go time.” Rook’s words play over again in Ace’s mind. Then there he was, Dire Crowley lurking, as he had been the past few days. “He’s here.”
“Dire Crowley!” It took some convincing, but it was none other then Riddle Rosehearts, dorm leader of Heartslabyul.
“Um, hello Riddle. Can we talk later, I’m a bit..how could you say…occupied..”
“No, I think we need to talk now.” Leona’s voice rings out.
“I would have to agree.” Vil Schoenheit, even agreed to take time out of his busy schedule to help.
Crowley seems to be stressed, to say the least.
One by one, all of the other dorm leaders stepped into the view of the Dire. All seven, Riddle Rosehearts, Leona Kingscholar, Vil Schoenheit, Kalim Al-Asim, Azul Ashengrotto, Idia Shroud(surprisingly), and eventually Malleus Draconia. Crowley is silent for a while.
“The information you wish is not mine to divulge,” he pauses, “but I can take you to the one you wish to see, and you can try your luck…”
______________________________________________________________ If you any suggestions of how to make the characters, please tell me! Also I hope you enjoyed part 2! Part 3 will definitely have them find out!

Never Far From Wonderland
The reunion between Yuu and their family was a tearful one. Since the year they've been gone, a few things have changed. Mainly, their family was in the midst of moving to a different place and were actually about to go through Yuu's things. It saddened Yuu that they had to leave their home so soon when they had just returned, but it made the moments they spent catching up with friends and being with their family in their childhood home all the more precious. On moving day, they gave their bedroom wall a pat, like how one would pat a friend's shoulder. "See you later."
A library, a pretty big community center, a bakery--no, at least three bakeries, and a few restaurants that offered outdoor dining. These were some of the businesses Yuu spotted on the way to their family's new house. It was a Saturday afternoon, so there were many people out and about. Families going somewhere fun or entering a sweets shop, fashionistas checking out boutiques, couples on their date, elderly folk and their grandchildren on their way home from a shopping trip, teenagers doing whatever. Yuu wondered how well they'll get along with their peers. Hopefully, it would go more smoothly than--
Hang on, did they just see unusually bright ginger hair?
They couldn't make sure. The car was moving away and they were sure the person was hidden in the crowd now.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was. . . strange being in a normal school again. For one thing, their classmates didn't have unusual hair color like royal purple or neon yellow nor did any have animal ears sitting on their head. For another, their classmates were friendly and, just like them, ordinary. They caught themself more than thrice thinking a welcoming classmate had an ulterior motive and they constantly reminded themself that this wasn't Night Raven College. No, this was just a high school on Earth.
Plain and simple and magicless.
. . . Well, they thought it would be.
When history came around, who entered their room but an older man with a stern face and greying hair, who resembled none other than Mozus Trein? Yuu was in complete shock, but when he spoke, they almost fell to the floor. This look alike even sounded like Professor Trein!
It didn't end there.
Science class brought in a professor neatly dressed who made multiple girls in Yuu's class swoon. A Crewel look alike, though this one's hair was completely black. He did, however, sport white earrings and Yuu saw him use a white pen with black spots.
Gym class introduced them to a rather muscular teacher with blue eyes and boisterous personality. He watched the students like a hawk and encouraged them to push themselves, work on their muscles! Perhaps it was Vargas's gym lessons in Twisted Wonderland, but Yuu found themself able to keep up. It actually made the gym teacher pull them aside and ask if they were interested in joining a sports team. Yuu hoped they weren't acting weird when they politely declined.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Where is it. . . ?"
Yuu had just left the school gates when they heard the murmur. They turned their head, thinking it sounded awfully familiar, and gaped. A petite frame, lilac hair--"Epel?"
"Huh?" The boy looked up. Yuu blinked, and the boy's hair was blond.
"Oh, sorry, I thought you were someone I knew."
"It's okay." The boy smiled. Great Sevens, even his smile resembled Epel's! "Oh, actually, have you seen a bike key anywhere?"
"Sorry, I haven't. Need a hand looking for it?" For the next several minutes, the two of them searched the locker rooms, Epel's homeroom (turns out, yeah, his name is Epel), and the library. No key. They started making their way to the roof when, on the staircase, someone called for Epel.
Yuu looked up and felt as though they were falling backwards, which made them grip the railing tighter. Five familiar faces, two floors above. Bright ginger and cherry red, navy blue and peacock green, white and golden-brown, cyan and cerulean blue and yellow, key lime green and yellow-green.
"We have your bike key!" one of them shouted, waving it over the railing. Yuu blinked a couple of times and they were suddenly staring at normal classmates. Epel yelled his thanks and asked where they'd found it while jogging up the steps. Yuu meekly followed behind.
"Who's this?" the one who resembled Jack asked.
"This is Yuu. They've been helping me look for the key."
All Yuu could think about was how strange the Jack look-alike looked without wolf ears, but they smiled politely and said, "It's nice to meet you all."
"Yuu? Aren't you in our class? 2-B?" Deuce-doppelganger asked.
Their eyes widened. "Yeah! What was your name again?"
"Hey, could we talk about this while we walk? I could really go for a bun right about now," Ace-doppelganger said.
"Would you like to come with us to the store down the street?"
Their heartbeat quickened, excited to join these familiar faces while knowing that these classmates weren't their friends from Twisted Wonderland. "Yeah!"
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Hey there, little imps!"
Oh my god.
His deep voice and showman-like way of speaking was unmistakable. He was without his top hat and skeleton makeup, but Yuu noticed he was wearing magenta eye contacts.
"Hey, Sam! Are the buns restocked?" His name is also Sam?!
"Came in an hour ago, still warm. There are plenty of the ones you all like." He met Yuu's eyes and smiled a little wider. "I see you all brought a new member to your squad!"
"Sort of. We actually just met them today."
"Who knows, though?" Ortho said, smiling. It was strange seeing him with a full face and not have some mouth covering or his eyes hidden. "They're pretty cool."
"I don't think I've seen you around before. You new to the area?" Sam asked.
"Yeah, I just moved in not that long ago," Yuu said.
Sam opened his arms. "Well, welcome to my shop! We got things ranging from trinkets to groceries. Maybe you'll find something new that you'd enjoy!"
They smiled. "Maybe! Thanks."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
It had been about a month since Yuu and their family moved into their new home. Yuu made quick friends with the ones who resembled their first year friends in Twisted Wonderland (well, they'd actually be second years now, since Yuu returned just before Night Raven College started its academic year again), and through them, they became acquainted with others who resembled their senpais.
The only ones they couldn't find were, of course Malleus, but also strangely Lilia. Sebek did talk about them, but not as excessively as his Twisted Wonderland counterpart, which Yuu found to be a little funny and a little weird. One of these days, they'll figure out how to ask about meeting the two of them without being awkward.
Aside from school life and their social circle, Yuu found that they enjoyed the new location. Turns out their room had a nice view of the sunset. It reminded them of the times they sat on the roof of Ramshackle Dorm and watched the sun set with Grim or the other First Years by their side. They wondered if their friends still met at Ramshackle Dorm to study or hung out on the roof. It would be nice to not leave the place empty like before, but whatever will happen will happen.
Yuu closed the lid of the trash bin. That should be it for their chores.
They were starting to turn around when they spotted something huddled against the fence separating their house from the neighbor's. Slowly, they approached it. They had an inkling of what it was and began making out a familiar, furry shape. Their heart began beating faster when they noticed its dark coat, perked up ears, and bright eyes.
They slowly lowered themself and quietly called to the cat. "Pspspspsps..."
The cat seemed wanting to approach. "Hey," Yuu gently said, "you want some tuna?"
After a couple of seconds, it slowly walked over to them and sniffed their closed hand. They stroked its head and it sat down, enjoying the affection. Soon, after some more petting, it showed its belly and Yuu happily pet the spot. They noticed it didn't have a collar and wondered where it went to sleep. It was too bad Yuu's dad was allergic to cats--something they forgot about until they embraced him after returning from Twisted Wonderland--they would have let the cat inside. Although, and Yuu noticed this with a small smile, the cat seemed well fed.
The cat got back to its feet and shook itself. It looked at Yuu with a little intensity, like it was expecting something. Then it hit them.
"Right! I'll be right back with some tuna."
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
On the way to school, Yuu would pass a rather big two story house with a garden in the backyard. All they could spy through the chicken wire fence were tomatoes and sunflowers, but they could imagine many more vegetables growing in beds and other flowers sprouting against the fence. On the porch were various pots containing different types of flowers, and from what Yuu could see, they all looked healthy. The placement of the pots never seemed to change, so it wasn't hard to spot a new addition one day.
They couldn't stop staring at it. It resembled one of the plants in the botanical garden, one of the most difficult to cultivate and thus one of Twisted Wonderland's rare plants. The one that grew no problem behind Ramshackle Dorm and which caused Crewel, Crowley, and their schoolmates to lose their mind when they found out about it. They wondered if the name of this plant was the same as the one in Twisted Wonderland. At this point, they wouldn't be surprised.
Come to think of it, have they even seen the owner of this house--?
"Admiring the plants?" Someone had come from the garden. He was a tall, lanky old man wearing overalls and a. . . patchwork top hat? "You're free to get a better look, if you'd like."
"Oh! Thanks!"
Soon, Yuu and the owner of the house got into a conversation about plants and other things. He was an eccentric old man who laughed at seemingly inside jokes, but he spoke in a familiar way and with a familiar cadence that made Yuu wonder something. They were half tempted to ask in a roundabout way if he had been a star sports player, but decided to try another day.
In the middle of talking about Clover Bakery, the double doors behind the two of them--they had decided to take a seat on the porch steps--creaked open.
"So this was what you were doing."
"We thought you bit the dust on the way in!"
Two old men, one stout and the other tall and fat. Neither seemed all that worried or concerned. "If I did, I would've made sure you two also bit the dust," the lanky gentleman said, which made the three of them laugh.
At that instant, a familiar grey cat slipped past the older gentlemen and went to Yuu. "It's you!" they said, immediately petting him.
"You've met him?" the fat gentleman asked.
"Yeah, he comes around to my house sometimes for tuna and scritches. Does he live with you guys?"
"He comes and goes as he pleases," the lanky gentleman said. "He's a stray. Doesn't like being indoors for too long. Or he just likes being independent and spoiled."
Yuu laughed at that. "Sounds like him. Does he have a name?"
"We never gave him one, but you can. He seems to like you," the stout gentleman said.
The cat seemed very pleased when Yuu started scratching under his chin. They smiled as they remembered scratching Grim's head one day and him purring like an actual cat. They also remembered his indignation when they began scratching under his chin even though he was enjoying it. He insisted he wasn't a cat, but Yuu begged to differ. Now look at his Earth counterpart; it was so funny.
"How about Grim?" they said.
"Hmmm, not a bad idea! Grim it is."
Yuu's phone buzzed. Grim was disappointed with the interrupted scratches as they checked. "I gotta go."
"So soon?"
"Ah, can't be helped."
"You're free to come around again. It's not often youngsters like you talk to people as close to the grave as us."
Yuu smiled brightly. "I'll take you all up on the offer. Just don't bite the dust before I come back, okay?"
The gentlemen laughed. "No promises!"
They waved from the porch as Yuu walked down the sidewalk. "See you around, Yuu!" the three yelled.
They were almost home when they stopped in their tracks. Grim, who decided to accompany them on the walk, stopped as well and inquisitively stared. Yuu didn't pay any attention as they thought about the old folks' parting message.
They didn't tell them their name, so how. . . ?
Yuu shook their head and continued walking. A mystery for another day.
A/N: Yay first story of the New Year!

"Jadeee, I think I'm hungry."
"... Care to elaborate?"
"I have had a weird feeling ever since yesterday, so I'm probably hungry. Can you get me something? I'm tireeed."
"We ate lunch ten minutes ago."
Jade quickly discarded his brother's comment, as he seemed to find a cereal bar in his pockets a few seconds after they spoke. He thought it was a mere small complaint that was now satisfied.
"Heyyy bro, I think I'm still hungry."
He was wrong.
After that day, the second-year student complained about his hunger every two minutes, no matter where he was.
At class, at the cafeteria, in the middle of his shift at the Mostro Lounge, and Jade could have sworn he heard him mumble about it in his sleep.
“Are you sure you’re just hungry?” Questioned the Octavinelle vicehousewarden, while he folded his clothes, as Floyd was laying on his bed on the other side of the room, with a frown on his face.
“Of course it is, why else would I feel that weird thing on my stomach and face? Sounds like I should go buy some takoyaki. Maybe Azul would want to join me, hehe.”
“On your face, you say? Do you think that’s normal when you feel hungry?”
“I mean, it never happened to me before, but I guess it’s because I’m really really hungry or something.” He replied with a relaxed voice.
“… Don’t you think it has something to do with the fact that almost every time you complain about wanting food, the prefect of Ramshackle is near you?”
The other twin remained silent for a few seconds, as he reflected on his brother’s question.
“Uhm, I don’t think so. Besides that I like them, I guess.”
“You mean, romantically?”
“Yup.”
Jade stared at his brother with an amused smile, and then chuckled, not really surprised at his sudden confession.
“Since when, may I ask?”
“Dunno, but I realized a few seconds ago, so thanks, bro.”
“You’re welcome, Floyd, but please confess to them before you spend all your money on snacks, if you can.”
“I’ll try, bro.”

“Aw, this one sucks, shoulda bought the pizza-flavored chips.”
The second-year eel complained with a frown on his face, as he was laying in the middle of the sports field, a bag of potato chips in his hands. It has been a couple of days since his chat with Jade, and he still didn’t know how to confess to his dear Shrimpy. He just wanted for them to get together without having to investigate human courting, as his brother suggested to him.
It sounded boring, but he understood the prefect might feel better with a familiar approach for them, instead of the traditions Floyd learned ever since he was little.
"Hmm, I think I saw someone give flowers to his partner a while ago, maybe if I give them a bouquet of dandelions? Maybe no, Sharksucker might want to eat it, humpf."
"Floyd?"
Even though his eyes were fixed on the sky above him, he could easily recognize the voice that called his name, his mind quickly imagining their curious gaze at him even when he didn't actually turn his eyes towards them.
"Shrimpy~Come here, do you want chips?" He lazily extended the bag in their direction, and the prefect was able to spot an amused smile on his face.
"Sure."
(Y/n) sat next to him, without questioning further about why was he lying in the middle of the field when he was supposed to be at the cafeteria, as it was lunch break. It was fine, either way, they also didn't want to explain why they were walking in the middle of the field when they were supposed to be at the cafeteria. Definitely not because they were looking for him, of course.
"You've been pretty busy at Mostro Lounge lately, haven't you?" The prefect asked, as they picked a few chips from the bag.
"Yeah, Azul has been making me work extra hours to pay for all the food I eat in my shifts."
"Oh? And why's that?"
"Because I got hungry, duh."
"Makes sense." They shrugged off the comment, as they ate one of the chips. "These are awful, the pizza-flavored ones we ate yesterday were a lot better."
"I was thinking the same, but they're more expensive now and Jade says I shouldn't spend so much money if I want to get out of my extra shifts." He pouted, suddenly getting up from the grass to sit properly, looking at (Y/n), who smiled fondly at him. "I think we should date, y'know? I like you a lot, Shrimpy."
"Sorry?!"
The prefect widened eyes gazed into the relaxed ones of the eel, as he didn't seem bothered after such statement. Bewilderment could be read on the first-year's face, as they scanned Floyd's face in an attempt of looking for signs of it being a joke. They found nothing.
"You mean, like, being lovers?"
"Lovers, high school sweethearts, spouses, you call it. That's how humans address each other romantically here, right?"
"Yeah..." They tried to speak through their bashful state, as they felt their cheeks being warmer than usual. "It's just that...I didn't expect you to confess so suddenly."
"I just felt like it, it's better if I get it out of my system fast, I guess."
Well, maybe the prefect should have expected a confession of that kind, now that they thought about it.
"But what do you say? Wanna be my partner? I promise to squeeze you carefully, and to buy you chips as soon as Azul pays me~."
(Y/n) laughed nervously, not knowing immediately how to answer. The expectant eyes of Floyd were kind of hypnotizing as they silently hurried them up to speak.
But his entire expression gave them a different feeling, a sensation of honesty and fondness they didn't see before on his face, as they never dared to look at him for too long due to shyness. He looked so adorable, so genuine at that moment, the prefect couldn't help but want to see him more often in that state.
To be able to admire his features as he smiled, when he got bored, when he felt relaxed, when he was angry, when he was comfortable, when he was being himself.
Most of the students of NRC found the demonstration of his moods scary, as they said he was unpredictable and intimidating, but (Y/n) knew he was just being honest. Not a single trace of falsehood was spotted in his voice as he proclaimed his intentions of being lovers.
"Of course. As long as you buy different chips, these ones are really bad." They pointed at the bag that now was laying on the floor, as they chuckled.
"Woohoo!"
Floyd suddenly celebrated, quickly throwing his arms around the prefect's body, in a hug that was significantly softer than his usual squeezings, but that still had enough strength to tackle them into the grass of the field.
"Careful, careful! You almost throw the chips out of the bag, don't waste your lunch in that way." The first-year laughed once again, as Floyd nuzzled his head into their neck.
"Don't worry, Shrimpy. I'm not hungry anymore."

"Here ya' have, a pretty dandelion for a pretty Shrimpy." Floyd extended a small flower he found nearby to the magicless student, who received it with a fond expression. "Careful not to let Sharksucker see it, though."
"Uh? Ruggie?"
"Yup."
"And why would that be?"
The eel scanned his surroundings suspiciously as if he was about to reveal a big secret.
"Seagull has told me things about him." He said whispering.
"C'mon, what did Rook tell you?"
"I'll tell you if you give me a kiss~."
"Floyd!"

┏ ⋙ A GENTLEMAN (JADE LEECH X READER)
♧…━━━━━☆
Jade looked towards you, drawn away from the conversation with Azul and Floyd about the Monstro Lounge sales, with Floyd teasing him as per usual, voices drowning out.
The feeling of calmness seeps into your blood as you looked outside the cozy little apartment as a place to hang out for vacation, staring out into the lush green wilderness while it drizzled, warming your heart with a quaint feel.
“Y/N?” He asks politely with a soft smile, eyes half lidded as he looks at you warmly. He leaned closer to you from his armchair next to yours, his cologne filling your senses. He smelt like the faint salty sea breeze with a sort of earthy and musky smell to him, a cooling affect to ease your nerves and warming your heart with a comfort spell of sorts. He smelt... nice.
“Fufu~ you look breathtaking even in a casual setting like this,” he whispered, using his hand to gently rub your cheek with. He grinned, smiling teasingly when he sees your face blooming pink.
“Jade~ me and Azul are gonna pick something up from the grocery store, you want anything?”
“No.”
“Alright then, we’re heading off. We’ll see you two shortly,” Azul states as he jingled his set of keys, inserting it into the door hole before leaving the two of you alone.
Perfect.
He slowly wrapped his arms around you, letting you sit on his lap as he rested into the armchair, feeling your warmth beneath his thigh as he softly stroked your back. You sighed pleasantly.
It felt nice.
Somewhere, something in the eel settled into his heart, an image of you and him in sync and coordination, dancing to the sound of the rain as it falls back as “pitter patter”. He slowly got you off his lap, as he stood up and brush himself, before extending a hand towards you.
Hesitantly, you laid the palm of your hand into his, his slender fingers grasp onto your hand gently as he pulled you closer to his chest, an arm around your waist.
Without saying a word, he took his first step and guided you slowly into a waltz, smiling warmly as he chuckles at how you attempt to dance along fluidly, but less like him, you were a little clumsy.
“Fufufu~ I used to be as clumsy as you are back then,” he teases, and fondly chortle when you pouted at him. “Oh, darling,” he smiles warmly, pink tinting his cheeks, “you’re the dancer right for me.”
How dreamy...a gentleman he is...

Hello! Can i have a oneshot of idia shroud, please? In Ghost Marriage, What if fem! reader was taken place instead of Idia? The ghost bride choose his girlfriend instead of him? Will he save his girlfriend?
omg i love this idea!
Tumblr media
♡ happily ever after? ♡ ♡ romantic and one-shot ♡ ♡ idia x fem!reader ♡
Tumblr media
"where is he...?" y/n asked, confused, as she was looking around the whole school for her boyfriend, idia, "i know he said that he was just going to the school shop real quick, but he have been gone for awhile now..." she was heading towards the main street when she suddenly heard loud voices, surprising her. "my prince!!!!!!!" a female voice yelled, loudly. "gyaaaaaa!!!!!" a male voice screamed, also loudly. "w-wait, that sounded like idia?!" y/n said, shocked, as she started to get worried and started to run towards main street, where she found him, "idia! are you okay!?" "y-y/n...?!" idia said, surprised, when he saw his girlfriend, then y/n noticed the ghost in a wedding dress in front of idia. "oh? who is this? your friend?" y/n asked, confused, as she walked up to the two, but before idia could answer her question, she started to introduce herself to the ghost bride, "i'm y/n! nice to meet you, umm..." "..." the ghost bride just looked at y/n, making her confused. "are you alrig—" y/n couldn't finish her sentence, as the ghost bride started to yell. "my princess!!!!!!!" the ghost bride yelled, loudly. "w-what...?!" y/n and idia yelled, shocked. "princess...?" y/n asked, confused, suddenly the ghost bride held y/n hands. "i always thought that i was looking for a prince..." the ghost bride said, seriously, "but the moment i saw you... i knew you were the one! my princess!!" "w-wait! this must be some kind of mistake!" y/n said, sweatdropping, "i already have a boyfrie—" "now, let's go and married~♡" the ghost bride said, smiling, as she kidnapped y/n. "..." idia just stood there, dumbfounded, it took him a few seconds to finally realize what just happened, "y/n got kidnapped and is getting married...!??!??!?!?!?!?!!?!?!"
Tumblr media
y/n was now standing in the cafeteria that have turned into a wedding ceremony, wearing a wedding dress and tried up so she couldn't run away. not only that but most of her friends were there paralyzed as they got slapped by the ghost bride, eliza, as they tried to save her. though she noticed that someone haven't tried to save her yet... idia. "aaaah~♡! i still can't believe i finally found my ideal princess~♡!!" eliza said, happily, as y/n sighed. "hey, leona." y/n said, getting his attention, "do you know where idia is?" "i don't know." leona answered, as he just wanted to leave. "we don't know where he is." vil answered, "he and ortho begged us to save you, but we haven't seen the two ever since we walked in here." "i see..." y/n said, sadly, suddenly a chubby ghost, chubby appeared, surprising her. "are you still asking for him?" chubby asked, confused, "you're about to marry a beautiful princess and you're still asking for that guy?" "he's not just 'that guy'! he's my boyfriend!!" y/n answered, slightly pissed, then she realized that chubby has been saying sweet words and being protective of eliza ever since she met him, 'does he... love her?'
Tumblr media
it was now nighttime and the wedding ceremony was about to start, but y/n kept trying to buy more for idia to save her. "i can't wait any longer!" eliza said, " let's just start the ceremony already~!" "can't we wait 5 more minu—" y/n was about to ask for more time, but chubby cut her off. "stop asking for more time!" chubby said, slightly annoyed, "your 'boyfriend' won't come—" "g-g-g-g-g-g-give me back m-m-m-my girlfriend...!" idia stuttered, as he suddenly walked into the cafeteria in a wedding suit, surprising everyone. "idia!!" y/n yelled, smiling, "i knew you would come and save me~!" "really? it looked like you had given up, yanno..." grim said, crossing his arms. "not now, grim!" y/n said, seriously. "eh!?" eliza said, surprised, "b-but she's my princess!!" "i-i..." idia said, not sure what to say. "say how much you love y/n!" ortho said, as he was hiding behind idia, making y/n almost laugh. "hi ortho~" y/n said, smiling. "hi big sis~!" ortho said, still hiding behind idia, "ah, i mean... i'm not here!!" "i-i-it's just as ortho said..." idia stuttered, as he was looking at floor, "i-i really love y/n... a-a-a-and i don't want to see her get married to someone else...!!" "idia..." y/n said, as she felt tears forming in the corner of her eyes, "i love you too...!" "oh... you truly love her..." eliza said, as she started to cry, "i just can't break you two apart... chubby untie her..." "yes." chubby said, as he untied y/n. "idia!" y/n said, as she suddenly hugged him, surprising him. "y-y-y/n...! n-not in front of everyone...!!!" idia suttered, as he started to blush and the tip of his hair turn pink. "sorry~" y/n said, smiling, then she turned around and noticed eliza's sad expression, then she walked up to the sad ghost, "eliza." "huh?" eliza said, confused, "w-what is it?" "you know i noticed something..." y/n said, making eliza confused, "there's someone in this room who is your ideal prince." "there is?! who?" eliza asked, curious. "chubby, of course!" y/n answered, smiling. "...!" chubby was speechless. "...!" eliza was also speechless, as she finally realized that chubby is the one for her, he has been with her since they were alive and even now as ghost, "oh, chubby! why didn't i realize this before!!" "eh?" chubby said, confused. "you truly is the one for me~!" eliza said, smiling, "i love you, chubby~♡!" "i-i love you too!" chubby said, smiling back, as the two hugged, "now let's go and get married!" "yes~♡" eliza said, smiling, "let's go back home!" eliza and chubby thanked y/n, as they disappeared with the other ghosts. after they left, everyone that was paralyzed could finally move again, making them sigh in relief. "now we can finally leave..." leona yawned, everyone agreed with him, as they were really tired. "thank you for saving me, idia~!" y/n said, smiling sweetly. "n-n-no problem...!" idia said, blushing, while looking away, embarrassed. "though, i'm surprised to see you in a wedding suit." y/n said, honestly, "i thought you would ride in here on a horse, wearing a samurai armor." "that is what i wanted to do...!" idia said, "but ortho told me to wear this... i don't know why he even have a wedding suit ready for me..." "heheh, let's go and get some rest." y/n said, smiling, "today was a long day..." "yes." idia said, smiling back, as everyone was about to leave the cafeteria, but suddenly ortho stopped everyone. "wait!" ortho said, getting everyone's attention, "the wedding isn't over!" "uuh, yes? it is?" grim asked, confused. "but big bro and y/n aren't married yet." ortho answered, making idia and y/n blush madly, "i've downloaded everything i needed to know for the two to get married!" "i-i'm not dealing with this again...!" y/n said, seriously. "i-i-i-i-i-i-i'm not ready to get married...!!" idia stuttered, sweatdropping. "everyone run!" grim said, surprised, as everyone ran out of the cafeteria, leaving ortho alone. "aw..." ortho said, sadly.

Pairing: Floyd x GN!Reader Genre: Fluff A/N: This is for @seajellyx for the Secret Santa Project held by @twstedsecretsanta. Happy Holidays, I hope you enjoy this small fluffy-fluff gift!
“Y/n.”
At the call of your name, the large gymnasium is filled with the sounds of gasps and mummering. You stare up at the podium with your face permanently set into a look of utter shock, because there’s no way that your name was just called.
Right?
The last thing you remember before spacing out was that the Christmas Royalties were about to be announced.
It’s apparently a tradition here at NRC: a celebration that’s a combination of what is a prom back on Earth and Valentine’s Day, where the popularly voted Christmas Royalties will have the chance to confess to their crush after being crowned — or challenge their rivals to a fight, for the less romantically inclined.
You always thought it was a ridiculous tradition. Especially when the chances of rejection and embarrassing yourself is ever present.
You’d given a thought before as to who you would confess to — though you’d hope you’d never have to. There is always a chance considering you are pretty well-known amongst the student body, courtesy of your friends’ overblot incidences and your magicless status.
And, as if the Sevens are playing a cruel joke on you, the student who had been called up to the podium first had been none other than your very own crush, Floyd Leech.
You’d met Floyd after your string of bad luck had you paired up with him as an Alchemy lab partner for the year.
At first, you thought he would be a difficult person to work with. The idea formed itself out of your preconceived notion that he is the louder and more uncontrollable of the Leech twins, thus he would never get any actual schoolwork done.
You had only witnessed him spending his free time messing with other students — your friends included — outside of class, after all.
But you were pleasantly surprised when Floyd took the initiative to reach out to you first with an offer to help, especially when the homework load got heavier as the year went by. His assistance, of course, was exchanged for a couple tight squeezes — and heavily dependent on his unpredictable mood.
Sometimes, Floyd could also be a bit flirty. He’d given you cheeky winks every now and then, or you would catch him staring at you in the middle of class with an unfamiliar glint in his heterochromic orbs.
Yet you thought nothing of it.
It was predictable of you to end up developing a crush on the man. It was a reality that your friends encouraged you to confess with the hidden hope that Floyd’s squeezes will only be reserved for you from then on.
But you’d also threaten that you’d transfer over to RSA if Floyd ever found out the truth.
But now? Flyod’s answer to “who would you like to call out to the stage?” was your name.
It was then that you began to wonder if all those times he’d been so cheeky in the middle of class was because he actually like-likes you?
“Is y/n here?” Riddle inquires into the mic again.
“That’s you. Haul ass, pal,” your friend Ace whispers as he elbows your side to bring you back to reality.
“Ugh… right,” you groan as you slowly stand up and make your way towards the stage.
Your body jerks in surprise when the overhead spotlight nearly blinds you, the bright light following your path exactly until you’re finally standing right beside Floyd.
“Well, this is quite the surprise,” you finally comment, arms crossed and an eyebrow raised at the taller man.
In typical Floyd fashion, the man reaches out and envelopes you in his arms. The squeeze he gives your body is much more gentle than normal. You manage to steal a glance at the man and return his wide smile with an amused one of your own.
“Shrimpyyyy,” Floyd coos before clearing his throat and speaking more clearly right by your ear, “sorry for doing this in such a public setting, but you wouldn’t pick up on any of the hints I’ve been giving you.”
“There isn’t much of a difference between the way you flirt and the way you treat your friends,” you chuckle, bending backwards slightly to properly look at Floyd’s face. From this close, you can see just how red his ears have gotten — and just how handsome he looks dressed so formally.
“You look marvelous, by the way. Not that you aren’t always,” Floyd compliments you as if he’d read your mind and wanted to beat you to the punch.
The cheesy words cause your cheeks to start burning up and earns more than an earful of aw’s from your briefly forgotten audience.
“Thank you, so do you— ugh,” you let out a short grunt when Floyd pulls you into another tight hug.
If anyone wanted to laugh at how silly you were making yourselves look, they didn’t. But if you weren’t busy trying not to suffocate in his arms, you’d have noticed how Floyd had thrown your audience a threatening look before they could even inhale.
“Thanks, Shrimpy,” Floyd finally takes a step back and squeezes your cheeks between his hands, tilting your head back so you’d meet his eyes. “How about a dance? I’m kind of tired of these people staring at us.”
Your lips curve up into a grateful smile as you nod, “sure.”
“I’m guessing you already know why you’re standing up here with me, but I do like you, Shrimpy. As more than a friend. I’d love to take you out on a date sometime soon.”
It’s as if those words unlocked a cage filled to the brim with butterflies. They flutter around in your stomach, leaving behind beautiful hues of reds, oranges, and yellows; warm colors that remind you of the beacon of sunshine that is Floyd Leech. You find it ironic, considering he’s from the sea.
You can’t hold back the grin that breaks into your face as you nod your head yes.
“Well, I’m glad you said something first because I like you too. Idiot,” you stubbornly admit with a playful roll of your eyes.
“That’s so cute! Congratulations!” Cater, who’d been standing and watching silently on the sidelines, suddenly yells.
With his lead, the rest of the student body begins to clap and the large gymnasium is filled with the sounds of cheers. Floyd tugs on your hand gently, and you allow him to guide you down the stage and straight to the dance floor. Large clusters of students come along, with most of them throwing confetti over your heads.
You’ve never seen them so lively outside of a good Spelldrive Tournament.
It takes a few minutes for the high energy to settle down, but finally everyone begins to break off into their respective pairs or small groups of friends.
Floyd wraps his arms around your waist, taking the opportunity provided by the slow melody playing to pull you close to him.
“Hi, Shrimpy,” Floyd beams, any signs and feelings of shyness already washed away.
“Hey,” you giggle as you wrap your arms around his neck and begin to sway together. “You sure know how to make a scene, huh?”
“I’m sorry, but you didn’t give me much of a choice. I thought I was being pretty obvious about it,” Floyd huffs, his lower lip jutting out into a pout.
“Well, I’m sorry too. For not noticing sooner,” you offer the man an apologetic smile.
Floyd hums for a moment before the mischievous glint is back in his eyes, “you can make it up to me somehow.”
“Didn’t I already agree to a date, sir?”
“But that’s different!” Floyd practically whines, and you’re surprised he’s not stomping his feet to match his tone.
You find him adorable, albeit a bit childish.
“I think I could get used to you being so cute,” you speak your thoughts aloud without meaning to. One of your hands moves to cover your mouth as you meet Floyd’s widened eyes. “I—I mean… what do you want?”
“How about…” Floyd pauses before his eyes travel up above your heads. You follow his gaze up to find multiple mistletoes dangling from the ceiling, “but only if you’re comfortable with it.”
Wordlessly, you place your arm back around Floyd’s neck and gently pull him closer to you. Your faces are mere centimeters apart, just a breath away from your lips touching.
“You know it’s bad luck to not kiss under a mistletoe, right? We shouldn’t risk it.”
“No, we shouldn’t,” Floyd mutters before he makes the first move to close the distance between you two.
Your eyes flutter shut right as your lips meet in a chaste and brief kiss. You couldn’t even hear the sound of your friends cheering from the top of their lungs over how hard your heart was beating.
“Floyd, don’t forget about us forever!” one of the Octavinelle residents in the crowd yells dramatically once the two of you finally pull apart.
“I guess that’s my cue to leave. I’m sorry,” Floyd rolls his eyes at his friend’s antics, but doesn’t let go of your hands despite his apology.
“I’ll see you tomorrow anyways, don’t look so sad to go!”
“You’re right, but I’ll still kick their ass for interrupting our moment.”
You laugh and nod slowly, “I can get behind that.”
“That’s my Shrimpy,” Floyd grins before planting a quick kiss onto your cheek. He finally lets go of your hands and takes a few steps backwards towards his waiting friends, “maybe I’ll come find you again for another dance?”
“I’d love that. I’ll be waiting.”

"I'm Sick"

Tumblr media
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Sorry, can't go"
"Yes, you can"
You sighed while holding the phone a little closer, you could tell he wasn't sick, in fact it sounded like he was up and making food.
"No"
"Deuce is going, we already bought your ticket, you're going."
"Nu-uh"
"Why can't you go to the museum with us?"
"Because."
"Because what, Ace"
"I'm sick" he then let out the fakest cough you'd ever heard, if you could even call it that. Without the context, it could be easily mistaken for a hiccup.
He had seen the movie, even if he would deny it, so you decided to have a little fun
"Boo, you whore" then hung up and waited
It wasn't long before he called again
In fact, it was less than a second
"Why the hell did you call me whore?" he asked, stifling a laugh about as good as the fake cough
"Like the movie" you replied
"What movie?" he asked, stuttering as he kept trying to keep in the laugh
"You know" hiding a laugh youreself, you looked at the time before speaking again "You should go, it'll be fun and we need to leave soon. Are you really that scared of the stairs?"
"Psh, no. It doesn't matter if they're open or not, I'm fine with stairs, I'm not a little kid and I know that I won't fall through the gap."
It's almost sad how terrible his acting is, you considered asking Vil to give him lessons
"There's elevators, Ace"
Silence.
"...Working elevators?"
"Yes, they work." You shrugged on a jacket and looked at yourself in the mirror, trying to multitask.
"Fine, I'll go"
"Okay, hurry up and get ready, there's only like ten minutes until we need to leave"
"Bye Mc"
"Goodbye"
"Goodbye Mc!" said a third voice, wait... was that-
"Deuce?! Why didn't you help with-"
Before you got an answer, he hung up.
Oh well, there was an exhibit only accessible by stairs... to them, at least. Good thing you went and checked it out earlier.
Twisted Wonderland request. I'm in my 30s now so I'd be old enough to be a teacher but what if we stepped that up to a guidance counselor? y/n would be a crucial part in the overblot students' therapy. it doesn't have to be romantic just something that was on my mind
Being the NRC guidance counselor
Characters: overblotters
Genre: angst a bit? Reverse comfort, platonic, maternal figure more than friend or lover
Format: one big paragraph mess (just my thoughts on how’d it go)
Pronouns: they/them (gn reader)
-----------------------------------------------
Being the NRC guidance counselor would include some things that aren’t exactly in your line of work. For example, deadly tantrums (the overblots). Crowley would hire you right after the first overblot and have an assembly introducing you. When you go up to speak and tell your intentions, no one really takes you seriously. But when Leona’s over blot happens and in such a public setting, people start getting tense. You want to help, so you send out a survey and have everyone fill it out. You look at the results and talk to individual students. In fact, you spoke to Azul before his overblot. He didn’t say anything concerning, but you knew better. He wasn’t being open. You didn’t blame him, he didn’t know you. After his overblot though you started noticing the pattern in the overblots. It was the house wardens. So of course your next target was Kalim. You stayed over the holidays to watch him and noticed him acting differently than how everyone had described him. Of course, since two new students always seem to be with the overblotters and they only started when they came along, you brought that up with Crowley. He dismissed it and you didn’t bother bringing up your suspicions to him again. He never listened. What threw you off is when The vice housewarden overblotted and not the housewarden. You thought this job wasn’t for you, investigating wasn’t the job for a guidance counselor anyway. No one would blame you if you looked for work elsewhere. You were almost going to throw in the towel, until a student willingly knocked on your door and asked if you had the time. You were ecstatic, they actually had problems they wanted to talk about. With you! That student was Vil shoenheit. You listened and you gave him solutions and similar situations such as his. He came in annoyed and left relieved. You thought it was going well, until he overblotted as well. You were in the dirt, you didn’t prevent anything. But hey, more people willingly come to talk to you now and you schedule weekly sessions with the students who overblot. You track their progress on growing as a person and offer them a place on campus if they just need to calm down. You talk riddle down, You reassure Azul, Vil, and Idia, you build up Jamil and Malleuses’ self identity. Even if Leona takes advantage of your office and takes naps there because he needa a “mental health break”. It was a mess at first, but you’re really helping. You can feel it. They don’t feel like going to you is a drag anymore, they go to you happily because they know you can help them.
A Heart’s a Heavy Burden
Characters: Azul, Jade, Floyd, Lilia
cw// Azul Ashengrotto Typical Angst (self hatred, eating disorders, body hate, childhood trauma, past bullying) body horror (mild), fighting a fish, fish violence(?), Azul loses it part 23686482, Floyd leech typical behavior, jade leech typical behavior, Azul Ashengrotto typical behavior, bullying a child (self bullying), Cannibalism jokes
The potion swirls, delicate shimmers of pearl dust floating near the surface. Light emanates from it, blue and gold and white, sending shadows dancing around the ceiling.
“Are you sure about this?”
“I’m positive. These kids need it.”
It’s no accident that Azul found himself in the clutches of this spell. It was stupidity, and his own at that.
He had heard of the mystery potion that Sam was selling and it’s vastly wild effects it was having on others. He had even heard what happened with Riddle, and it did genuinely seem like it was helping.
And he wanted it.
He was so sure of himself, after shoving everything down for ten years, that he was already the best he could be. Yes, there was always room for better, but he didn’t need anything, not like those other poor souls.
As he sits on the floor of the VIP room, disoriented, he comes to terms with the fact he was very, very wrong.
He was dissecting the components of the potion, trying to reverse engineer the aspects, to figure out what was making it tick. Attempt after attempt to break it down, to essentially undo time and emulsification, and it was clear now that the potion had a mind of its own.
Heating and cooling and heating and cooling and stirring and un-stirring and inspecting and-
Poof.
Azul felt himself be knocked back, coughing as a mist hung in the air and clung to his every pore. He groaned, floundering to try and sit up.
When he looked down, he noticed that his pants looked…lumpy. His shoes had sipped off, and out the bottom of his pants appeared wriggling tentacles, attempting to grab onto something.
He stilled them, rubbing at his eyes. He still had his glasses on, and they still appeared to be working, so it seemed…
Half transformed. Below the waist were his tentacles, but above it he was human. He frowned, squirming. He attempted to shift back into his human form as he had done several times now, only to find he was stuck.
He grumbled, wiggling out of his pants, freeing himself from the cloth prison he was trapped in, wrinkling his nose at the feeling of the office’s carpet against his suckers.
He let out a sigh, scrubbing down his face with a free hand. This was certainly not what he was expecting to happen today, and he was not having a good time with it.
He paused when he felt something touch one of his legs, and nearly jumped out of his skin. He turned, slowly, to see what might be there.
He stared at the tiny octomer that stared back with his matching shade of silver hair and bright blue eyes, staring at him in confusion, with tears pricking at the corners of them.
“H-hello?” The tiny boy asked, hands clasping Azul’s desk.
No.
No. No. No. No. No. No. Absolutely not.
This thing…this child, it can’t be here. Azul frowns, staring blankly at the child. He didn’t want to respond, he didn’t want to acknowledge it’s existence, he didn’t want it to be here at all.
He inspected the child, though, finding that he was in much the same condition that he himself was in. Half human, half octopus, three hearts pumping warm blood rather than the blue normal. Gills missing, skin warm and pink, but tentacles still present and moving around, feeling at everything within reach. Ah, right, he hadn’t developed such conscious skill over them for quite a while, had he?
Little Azul stared at him, reaching out to grab his hand. “You’re an octopus, like me!” He said, trying to open a conversation again, “My name’s Azul. I…I think I’m lost.”
Azul stared at him still, trying to think of a response. What he should have said was something comforting to the lost child, but what came out was, “Man. I was truly a stupid child.”
In a second, his younger self looked like he’d been slapped, and moved away from him. It was clear he wanted to ask questions, that there was a lot on his mind, that he wanted so badly for this other mysterious octomer to like him, and…
“That’s really mean.” The kid said, tears finally slipping from his eyes, “What did I ever do to you?” He rubbed at his eyes, his gaze turning hard and cold against the older version of him. “I just wanted some help.”
Azul spluttered, surprised at his boldness. The slightest guilt tugged at him, and he glared back at the child.
“Fine. Since I’m ever so benevolent,” he gritted out, “I’ll tell you. You’re a younger, weaker version of me. We’re at night Raven college, in my office, where I run a business. People look up to me for help, because I worked hard and began an excellent mage. You,” he poked at the little boy, “Aren’t supposed to be here. So, we’re going on a trip.” He grinned maliciously, actually glaring at this child, “Nobody can see you. So we’ll need to get you covered in something.”
The elder looked around, desperately trying to find something to cover the child with in order to sneak him to the Octavinelle salt pools, just a floor away. He settled on the pants that he was previously wearing, then realized the slight issue with his plan.
Azul’s luck seemed to break even further, because when he finally looked up, he realized that the VIP room door was open.
And the child was gone.
Panic set in and he dropped the task at hand, rushing over to the door to look for the kid. It took him a little bit, since he had to work with eight legs and no water to help with movement, but he moved surprisingly fast for being on land.
He rounded the corner, only to immediately be met with Floyd’s surprised eyes. He was holding the bundle of octopus as the kid clung to him, sobbing into his shoulder.
Floyd’s expression was something Azul hadn’t ever seen before. It was equal parts angry, pity, sympathy, and surprise. He gently nudged the kid with one hand, hushing him for a moment, “Hey, baby tako, you wanna go for a swim? It’s been a while since any of us have done that. I can tell you all sorts of fun stories~” he baited, tickling Azul’s side with a soft grin.
Little Azul looked up, sniffling and wiping his eyes (and mouth, Azul noted. Floyd’s scarf was covered in ink now, which made his stomach twist with a rage he couldn’t explain) The kid finally gave him a smile, one that made his eyes crinkle and his chubby cheeks bulge and turn a little pink. “You wanna swim with me?” He asked, looking at Floyd with adoration, “A-are you sure? I’m not very fast…” He said, beginning to deflate.
“That’s alright,” Floyd said, “If you wanna go faster, you can just grab my fin. I can take us really fast.” He gave him a little mischievous wink, then adjusted his grip, sitting the tiny octopus on his waist.
The commotion around the VIP room caught the attention of Jade, who had previously been in the kitchen teaching Lilia some cooking techniques since Mostro wasn’t open. He dismissed himself for a quick moment, making his way over to his brother. When his eyes settled on the bundle of joy settled into Floyd’s arms, he was equally surprised and somewhat delighted. Now, that’s a sight he hasn’t seen since they were children.
“Oya? Is that a young Azul I spy?” He asked playfully, knowing full well of the answer, “I wasn’t expecting such a delightful visitor today, but it is surely worth shuffling around my schedule for.”
“Nee~ Nee~ we’re gonna go swimming in the pool!” Floyd cheered, leaning in to nibble gently on one of Azul’s squirming tentacles. He didn’t bite down hard, but it still made Azul yelp in surprise and retract it. “You’ll come too, right? Oh, and Big Azul has to come!” He said, turning to look at the merman sitting on the floor.
Jade leaned over just a bit to peer at him, looking even more surprised an amused than before. “I suppose he will. Azul, why are you transformed in your office?”
Azul frowned and crossed his arms, letting out a fussy huff, “I can’t turn back. I’m stuck like this. It happened when the…that,” he pointed at his younger self, “showed up.”
“He has a name, y’know.” Floyd said, sounding slightly irritated, “he’s Azul.”
“I’m Azul.” The 17 year old defended, glaring at the child, “That is a mistake.”
Little Azul looked ready to cry, but settled for glaring at his older self and spitting ink at him.
Four things happened at once. The twins burst out laughing, while Little Azul looked mildly terrified. Older Azul began crawling across the floor on all limbs at Floyd, looking utterly terrifying for once. Little Azul, in response, began to shriek in fear. And the cries of a child in distress alerted Lilia, who rushed out of the kitchen holding a pot and a kitchen knife, poised to attack the threat at hand. This did not help, and Little Azul began to cry on top of screaming, resulting in a lot of very uncomfortable eardrums and a whole lot of ink being spewed.
Lilia threw the knife to the side and made arms for little Azul, holding the blubbering mess close and trying to soothe him. Older Azul, on the other hand, was currently being lifted by Floyd in a nelson hold, arms trapped firmly due to having pesky bones, and tentacles dangling underfoot. It wasn’t easy for Floyd to do this, since Azul could still control his legs and was also larger than the eel by quite a lot, but he managed through the power of sheer Will and a little bit of non-gentle biting.
Jade had left to turn off whatever was going on in the kitchen, and returned with a giant cardboard box normally used for ingredients. Floyd proceeded to shove Azul’s bottom half into it, much to the octopus’s dismay.
With the elder Azul thinking clearly, he could see that, yknow, maybe he shouldn’t have picked a fight with a child. Even if he felt that since that child was him it was fair, it was still a bad call on his part, especially when missing the Appropriate Body To Fight. Now, missing part of one of his legs, he was tired and miffed and ready to give up because this couldn’t get any worse.
“Oh, look at you! You’re so soft and squishy, I could just gobble you up! Are you hungry, little guy? I can make you something and bring it to you.” Lilia cooed at little Azul.
Nope, no, nope, he can’t do it. This is officially the worst day of his life and he wants to stop existing right now, especially when the kid giggles and nods along, looking excited.
He shrieked further into his new cardboard octopus box, sulking and seething. His tentacles writhe in anger, and Floyd smacks one away from Lilia’s cape.
“Dude, what’s your problem?” Floyd asks, clearly annoyed and extremely bluntly, “Why are you bein’ mean to little Octy?”
Azul scoffed, “You haven’t called me that in forever.”
“You haven’t been that in forever.” Floyd says, “‘n you avoided the question. Why are you pickin’ on a kid?”
Jade took that moment to crouch beside him, “Didn’t you say after your overblot that you would stop trying to erase your past?”
Azul glared, watching Lilia play with his young self, “I’m not attempting to erase my past. I simply don’t wish to be reminded of it.”
Floyd groaned, reaching down and flicking Azul’s head, “you’re bein’ a buzzkill. Nobody’s here to see it but us-“
“And the Diasomnia Vice Housewarden!” Azul protested.
“And Flapjack octopus.” Floyd corrected, “But he’s harmless. C’mon, stop being so grumpy and just have fun.”
“This is a rare opportunity.” Jade added, eyes twinkling, “It’s not every day you get to see yourself like this.”
Azul frowned, then turned to where he could see Lilia and the younger Azul.
“Wow, they’re so cool!” Lilia was saying, bent over to his little tentacles, “and you can feel with all of them?”
“Yeah!” He cheered, face warm with all the praise he was receiving, “I learned how to write with them too! I can write grimoires super fast now!”
Lilia smiled, “That’s so clever! I’m not surprised at all you grew up to be so clever.” He said, reaching up to pinch Azul’s cheek playfully.
The little merman giggled, shooing away Lilia’s hand half heartedly, “You think so? The other kids say I’m clumsy and slow.”
Lilia shook his head, “Everyone has different strengths. If there’s something they can do that you can’t, there’s probably a lot that you can do that they can’t. Speed has nothing to do with it.”
Azul tilted his head, then slowly shook it, “No, I mean…well, yeah, physically slow, but like…mentally.”
Lilia’s eyebrows shot up, “They call you stupid?”
Azul nodded, eyes downcast, “You probably think that too now, right?”
The fae laughed, “No, of course not. That’s the silliest thing I’ve ever heard, and I’ve been around quite some time.” He smiled easily at the kid, “You know octopuses are considered one of the smartest animals on earth, right?”
Azul shifted, tentacles splaying in what may have been an attempt to stand, the suckers popping softly against the surface of the table he was currently perched on. “Really?”
“Really.” Lilia confirmed, patting his head, “They’re known as great escape artists, and they have a lot of brainpower. It doesn’t surprise me that you’re so smart.”
The child beamed at him, squirming a little in happiness. His tentacles began to move too, in their own little rhythmic dance, and he made little popping sounds with his mouth.
The faerie observed this with wonder and amusement, taking it in for a moment before joyfully joining him. He floated into the air and began to wiggle his legs around, kicking them back and forth while he made popping sounds with his mouth as well.
This seemed to please little Azul, who added in a lilting trilling sounds and began to flap his wrists excitedly.
The elder Azul simply stared on in wonderment. “Did I always do that?” He asked the twins idly.
“All the time.” Floyd grinned, “sometimes you still do some of it. The popping, mostly.”
“And the wrist flapping, when you’re stressed.” Jade agreed, “It’s rather…endearing.”
“Can we go swimming?” The kid called, “I feel all dry, I don’t like it.”
This brought everyone back to the task at hand, and immediately the twins jumped to action.
“Yeah, yeah, let’s get going!” Floyd cheered, scooping up the octopus box.
Jade came over to take little Azul, only to find that the octopus was rather attached to Lilia now.
“Mister Lilia, will you come swimming with us?” He asked with big, pleading eyes.
Lilia couldn’t say no to a face like that, he would be heartless. Azul, on the other hand, was completely capable and willing to decline for him.
“Lilia’s very busy, now let Jade carry you.”
Lilia rolled his eyes with no real heat and said, “I’d love to go swimming. Shall I carry you?”
Little Azul lit up, immediately clinging with all of his limbs to Lilia, giggling at the movement of walking. Jade followed behind, grabbing a few things like towels along the way, but nobody paid much mind. Floyd was too busy trying to shove Azul back in the box while Lilia tickled the little octomer with a serene smile.
Azul was unceremoniously dumped into the salt pool (which was more so just an opening to the rest of the ocean, since octavinelle is underwater). He spluttered and pushed hair from his face, only to see Floyd frowning down at him. “Stop being such an asshole about the kid. He’s just you.” He said before promptly jumping into the pool.
The other Azul is set down gently into the water by Lilia, who then went off to the side to begin undoing his 50,000 goth chains and belts so he could wear just a tshirt and pants in the pool. He could have used magic, like a normal person, but the little Azul seemed entranced by the sound of chains and buckles clacking against each other.
Actually, so did big Azul, who ended up unconsciously floating closer and closer to the edge of the pool next to his younger self until they were right beside each other, both staring at Lilia and trilling softly.
It was until Lilia stopped that Azul had realized what he had been doing, and practically sprung away from his younger self, face warm a soft purple.
Oh, look at that, now that they’re in the water he’s gone back to his full form. So has the child, come to think of it. The potion must change with triggers, he thinks idly.
He sinks under the water, blinking as his eyes adjust to the dark. He lets out a sigh, bubbles escaping his mouth.
He hates to admit it, but it feels nice being able to breathe for once. This spell…this curse, as he’s beginning to call it, is messing with him. Surely it’s a punishment of some kind. This is no blessing, it’s exactly as shady and twisted as the deals he makes, and he’s on the receiving end!
He lets himself float for a while, tentacles just barely touching the surface of the sand below him. He can hear water splashing above, and the muffled sounds of joy and laughter, and he simply can’t bring himself to be mad anymore.
The twins are right. That…. His younger self, he acknowledges. He hasn’t done anything, and even if he harbors that inner hate…he really is just a child. He doesn’t know what’s happened, or even what’s going on now. So why? Why does he hate that child so much?
His heart sinks as he hears the deep, rumbling sound of a predator nearby. A long, slim silhouette crosses above him, blocking out the sun for a moment. When he looks up, he sees the shimmery body of a large, hungry barracuda.
Headed for the little octomer he wants to be rid of.
The little octomer that has done nothing but try and be friends, he reminds himself. The little octomer who was pleased to see him. The little octomer that was also, literally his younger self. His past made manifest.
He grit his teeth, propelling himself toward the barracuda, fists clenched. No, he wouldn’t be feasting on anything today. And besides, maybe beating the shit out of a fish would make him feel a little better. Release some pressure, or something.
He wastes no time in grappling the barracuda, managing to latch onto it with his whole body. He’s got his fingers in it’s gills, which he knows is uncomfortable as shit, and is trying to shove its head in a different direction. He’s squeezing it intensely, making it wriggle and writhe in his grip, as he forces its mouth shut with one hand, the other still grappling its gills.
Unable to make it change course, he resorts to just smacking the shit out of its snout and screaming incoherently with the rage of two years of nonstop paperwork and ten years of pent up self hatred coming to light.
All the tussling catches Floyd’s attention. He slips down under water, leaving Jade in charge of playing with Azul for a few moments (not that either of them min) as he slinks down to where Azul is still smacking the 6 foot fish that’s literally 1/6th of his size.
“Ya need any help?” He drawls casually, a wicked smile playing on his lips, “Sharing is caring, you know.”
“I’m good!” Azul chirps, a slightly crazed look in his eye as he balls himself up before flinging the barracuda harshly against a rock, “Thanks though.”
Floyd pouts dramatically, “C’mon, I wanna play too! I left little Takoyaki to check on you.”
Azul sighs and gestures to the fish swimming away, “I suppose I’ve had my fun. If you wanna chase after it, be my guest.”
Floyd grins, planting a wet kiss mockingly on Azul’s cheek before darting after the fish, overtaking it in no time.
Azul lets out a little humph before turning and beginning to meander back toward the surface of the pool. He gets closer, then sighs again before coming above the surface to tread beside his younger self, looking entirely too awkward for someone that’s literally just near his own self.
Jade had the Azul on his ‘lap’, tail flicking over them to splash the kid with water. He looked more like a sea otter than an eel, Azul thinks, watching the two play. It’s odd to see the twins so soft, especially with someone who as literally just him but younger, but he supposes they’re softer with children regardless.
Jade leans in and whispers something to the kid that he can’t hear, glancing over his way. When little Azul turns to look at him, he realizes that something he isn’t going to like is about to happen.
Suddenly, the two mermen disappear under the water, going further and further down. When they don’t resurface for a bit, Azul can’t help but feel a little rejected. Yes, he knows that he rejected them first, he even recognizes that he’s being an asshole, but still. It’s just reopening some old wounds.
This spiraling thought process is broken by Lilia, who’s sitting at the edge of the pool with his feet dangling in.
“You know, Ashengrotto, it seems like you were a delightful child.” He has calmly, watching as Azul blushes.
“I appreciate your kind comment.” He says, scrambling for the upper hand, “I appreciate you taking time out of your day to attend to this matter, as well. If you’d like, I believe it’s under control at the moment, if you have other business.”
Lilia raised an eyebrow and let out a hearty laugh, leaning back, “You sound so serious. It’s really no big issue. I miss having children around, they’re always such a joy.”
“Oh.” Azul says, swimming a little closer, though he kept most of his body under the surface, “do you have lots of younger siblings then?”
Lilia laughs again, smiling down at him, “Something like that. For a long time, my home had younger kids in them. Childhood is such a gift. To see young people experience things for the first time, and develop themselves? It’s lovely to see who they grow up to be and where they came from.” He said nostalgically, gaze distant. His eyes train down on Azul quickly though, and he gives him a sympathetic smile, “I suppose, though, it might be upsetting to some. You, in particular, seem to harbor a lot of anger. Especially toward him.”
Azul contemplated this for a moment, tracing the black skin around his wrists. He thought hard before quietly admitting, “I wasn’t good enough.”
“Huh?” Lilia asked, seemingly surprised by his answer, “What makes you say that?”
“Too fat. Too slow. Too stupid. Too lazy.” He said, each with a pause longer than the last, “Just…not enough. Or too much, maybe?” He followed a crack between the edge of the pool and the concrete beside it with his finger, eyes trained with it, “I want to be better.”
They sat in silence for a while. Azul found himself relaxing into it, like a weight was lifted from his chest, while Lilia seemed to just be thinking hard on what to say.
“I think,” Lilia finally began, speaking just loud enough for him to hear, “perhaps, the issue wasn’t you. It was others expectations of you. You were simply doing what you needed to in order to survive as a child, right?”
The silence returned, and Azul felt that his silver tongue had turned to lead. “But..” he tried. He couldn’t find anything to refute that, no logical argument could be made. Everything left was stuck in his feelings, and, well…
It was quiet. Lilia gave him the grace and space to think as he splashed around in the water, sending little droplets across the top.
Azul lifted his head from his arms when he felt the gentle tap of a hand on his shoulder, and the intertwining of tentacles around his own. He turned to look, and was met with his younger self, as well as both twins. Jade was holding a collection of…something, while Floyd was swimming back and forth in circles just a few feet away.
Little Azul was right next to him, hopefully holding out something. It was a coin. Unpolished, and certainly not rare, but it still glittered against the light.
“Here.” The little merman said, “it’s for you.”
Azul stared, eyes flicking between the coin and his younger self. He gingerly took the coin from his outstretched hands, then clenched it tightly. He placed it against the lip of the pool, then smiled at the child, “Thank you.” He said softly, offering the child his hand, “Would you like to go find more with me? I’m sure your coin hunting skills are on par with my own.”
Both octomers finally smiled, together, and slipped under the surface.
The elder took little Azul’s hand, guiding him carefully. He could swim faster, since he was bigger, but decided to let himself move slower.
The slowly sink to the seabed below, tentacles splaying with the soft impact. The younger Azul immediately began to search for coins again, tugging on the elder, “I found the last one this way!”
He lets himself be tugged along by the child, hovering not far behind. The water is murky, and he can’t tell if it’s from being so far down or from feelings being let out.
His hand finds Little Azul’s, clasping it with a desperation he didn’t know he had.
“I’m sorry.” He says, settling down, “I’m so sorry.”
He feels little hands wiping at his cheeks, and looks up to see big blue worried eyes.
“It’s okay,” the kid says, “You did what you thought was best.”
Azul stares at his younger self, completely silent and at a loss for words.
“Can we be friends now?” The kid asks, looking hopeful, “Nobody else gets me.”
“They can’t.” Azul says softly, “They don’t have the brainpower.”
It earns a giggle from little Azul, and a wide smile. “Let’s find more coins!” He grins, beginning to swim off. His eyes are trained down into the sand, hands sifting through greedily.
Azul follows suit, using all of his tentacles to aid in the mission. He ends up disturbing a crab, who pinches one of his tendrils and scuttles off. He pouts for a moment when his younger self laughs a little, but it turns into surprise when he chases it and brings it back.
“I’m sorry Mister Crab.” He coos to the creature perched in his tiny hands, “We didn’t mean to disturb you. We were looking for coins!” The crab, as expected, has no reaction, but little Azul laughs anyway before swimming off with him. He perched him on a rock, carefully. “I won’t move you too far, but this way we don’t bother you again. Goodbye, Mister crab!”
The young merman returns to his elder self, smiling widely. “He said he’s sorry for pinching you.” He says seriously, “are you okay?”
Azul smiles, patting his head, “I’m quite alright. Shall we return to our hunt?”
The two spend hours at the bottom of the sea, sifting through sand. They find various things, several of which little Azul keeps, that are not coins. Shells, sea glass, various shiny pieces of what’s, quite honestly, trash, bottle caps, pieces of kelp, bleached coral, and even a few pearls and gemstones.
Azul is surprised at just how much they find, but more so what his younger self deems valuable.
“This shell is pink inside!” He chirps happily, showing his elder self, “It looks soft! I like it!” He then proceeds to hold it in one of his tentacles as he continues to search.
“This is so shiny!” He holds up a piece of foil from a pop tart, discarded carelessly into the sea, “I could look at it for hours!”
“Why did you choose that?” He asks, pointing at the stones in his hands
Little Azul looks up and beams at him, “They’re chlora…clo…chlololora…”
“Chlorastrolite.” He supplies gently.
“Chlorastrolbites!” He says, smiling, “yeah, those! They’re green, like Jade and Floyd. I wanna give it to them.”
He holds out the pieces out to show Azul. They look as though it’s been split in half, giving two even, matching pieces.
Azul gives a watery smile, scooping up his little self, “I’m sure they’ll appreciate them greatly.”
Little Azul smiles even wider than before, all of his pearly white teeth on full display. He wiggled around, tentacles thumping gently in time with him before he stopped, “I found something for you too!” Little Azul squirms around a little before one of his tendrils comes up to plop something in his hand.
He turns to the elder Azul, proudly holding out his treasure.
In his hand is a small chunk of lavender aragonite, slightly smooth due to probably tumbling around in the sand for quite some time. The little octomer looks proud of himself, and he should be.
Azul takes it from him, settling down in the sand to be at his level. He cradles it gently with both hands, looking between it and him. “This is beautiful,” he says softly, “thank you.”
The young Azul smiles, looking wiser than his years. He looks up to find Jade and Floyd swimming their way. Floyd wraps himself around the little Azul, scooping him up with his tail. He turns to Jade with a grin, saying, “I win!”
Jade merely laughs a little and nods, “That you did.”
Little Azul pats at Floyd, saying, “I think it’s time I leave soon.”
The three mermen look confused. Jade raises an eyebrow as he asks, “What do you mean, ‘go’?”
Little Azul laughs a bit, “I can’t stay forever. I have to go back soon. Azul’s almost better.”
“Huh?” Azul asks, “I don’t understand.”
“It’s okay,” the child says, snuggling himself closer to Floyd, “You will.”
It’s evident that they won’t be getting any answers from him about his cryptic words, and Floyd simply shrugs. He squeezes little Azul against himself, pressing his face into the kid’s shoulder, “You’re so soft. ‘Zul isn’t nearly as fun to snuggle.” He mumbles, “You’re so soft and cute.”
“Don’t bite me.” Azul says seriously, “I don’t like that.”
Floyd pouts and groans dramatically, “Fiiiine, I guess.”
Jade comes over to join and scoops little Azul from his twin’s arms, “I’ve barely had any time to spend with you, have I? I’d like to state for the record that I have missed you as much as Floyd has.”
Azul stares, wide eyed at the twins being so gentle. He couldn’t remember a time in his life that they were ever so soft with him, even when they were children themselves.
Jade and Floyd grin at each other before swimming in opposite directions, Jade still gripping onto the kid as they swim, which makes him giggle in delight.
Then, in a few moments, the twins are tossing Azul back and forth gently, using their tales to fling him and catch him in turn. They’re swimming fast, probably faster than Azul had ever gone in his life, and it looked like the kid was having a ton of fun.
It made him jealous for a moment, actually. It had been so long since he’d played. He was only seventeen, but he felt much older in that moment. When was the last time he had fun like that, he wondered? It had been years…
He reached out with one tentacle, snatching his younger self. Everyone turned to look at him as he grinned wickedly, then took his turn tossing the kid to Floyd.
Time seemed to no longer exist for them, the three friends and their younger companion. It felt like a summer day spent at the pool, warm and bright and cool all at once.
But like a summer day, things would have to come to an end.
Little Azul swam sleepily over to his elder self, pushing himself into his arms. “It’s time I go now.” He said softly, letting out a little yawn.
Azul frowned, petting his hair absently, “What do you mean?”
Little Azul looked up and smiled at him sympathetically, “It’s time I go home.”
Azul was at a loss for words. He tried to think, how could he explain this? They weren’t close to home, they were at college, he couldn’t just leave, especially not on his own! He’s just a little kid.
Little Azul settled himself completely in his arms, and he barely noticed. He felt the warmth at his chest, and the stares of the twins trained on him.
He looked down, to find the tiny octopus merman seemingly asleep. His eyelids fluttered with movement, but the tiny snores he let out told him that it was just REM.
He pulled him closer, murmuring a soft, “Sleep well, little guy. I’ll protect you.”
And with that, the child began to glow faintly, shimmering and shining like the potion had earlier. He leaned further into Azul, and he felt something odd. Then, with a soft pop, little Azul was gone.
Azul spluttered, as in the same moment, his legs returned. He yelped in surprise and confusion, but luckily Jade and Floyd were there. Floyd grabbed him and began to swim him right back to the surface, where Azul began to splutter, coughing out a little water and taking in fresh air.
Jade surfaced next to him, hopping out of the water. He transformed back to human, paying no mind that Lilia was still sitting near the pool, and walked to his clothes. With a wave of his pen, he was dry and fully clothed. He then returned to Azul, helping him out of the pool and doing much the same for him.
Azul shook, still reeling from what transpired.
Lilia came to stand beside him. He reached out, grabbing his forearm gently.
Azul jumped and looked up, frantic eyes locked on Lilia’s.
Lilia gave him a knowing look, and gently said, “Are you quite alright, Ashengrotto?”
It took him a moment to collect himself and find his words. He was leaning heavily into Jade’s grip, and could feel his questioning eyes watching him again.
“Azul!” Floyd yelled.
He turned, eyebrow raised, “Huh?”
Floyd smiled, crossing his arms on the lip of the pool and resting his head on them, “Can we have Takoyaki for dinner tonight?”
Azul flushed and stuttered out, “Wha- I- h-“
Floyd laughed, tail lapping at the waves behind him, “We were good, weren’t we Jade? I didn’t even bite the little octopus!”
“If I recall correctly, you did actually do that.”
“But not hard!” He pouted, “‘n I’m hungry. All that swimming worked up an appetite.”
Azul laughed softly, somewhat in amusement and somewhat in disbelief. He sighed, “Yeah, you guys can have Takoyaki tonight.”
“On the house?”
“Well now, that’s a little much don’t you think?” Azul said deadpan, though all three knew he was joking.
He turned back to Lilia, brain finally having caught up to his question, “I…I think I’m okay. I feel a little…weird. I’m not sure how to describe it. Heavier, somehow? Denser?”
Lilia laughed a little, patting his arm, “Yes, I suppose a heart is a heavy burden, isn’t it?”
Azul gawked and flushed, crossing his arms. “Are you trying to say you thought me heartless?”
“Well, I mean no offense by it, but I don’t believe you were in touch with it much, were you?”
He glared half heartedly, then blinked. “I…one moment. I forgot something.”
Jade lifted an eyebrow in confusion as Azul took off his blazer, then promptly dove into the water.
Floyd exchanged a confused look with Jade before diving down to follow the dorm leader, tail spraying Jade and Lilia with water ‘accidentally’ as he turned.
Azul had puffed cheeks as he was frantically looking around, grabbing at the sand below.
Mister Crab seemed to take pity on him, and brought him exactly what he was looking for when he saw that he was running out of air.
When Azul turned to look, Floyd was hovering beside him, watching in confusion.
“You get it?” He asked when he saw his full hands.
Azul nodded, letting out a bubble of air. He was beginning to panic, and his lungs were beginning to burn. Curse his forgetfulness, both in regards to his pen and to forgetting the treasures.
Floyd swam him back to the surface (again) and Azul spat out some water, dumping the contents of his hands on the edge of the pool before brushing his wet hair from his face.
“Thank you, Floyd.” He said softly to him.
Floyd hummed, wrapping himself around Azul, “Yeah, I know. You owe me double that Takoyaki though.” He teased, before resting his head on his shoulder, “What’d you get?”
Azul flushed, squirming in Floyd grip a moment before sighing a little, “Little me had something for you. And me, actually.”
Jade approached the edge of the pool, crouching down beside the two still inside. “Oya? And what’s this?”
Azul’s hands shook as he held up the twin pieces of chlorastrolite, “He said, ‘they remind me of Jade and Floyd, and I want to give it to them’.”
Floyd chirped as he took the gemstone, admiring it. He squeezed around Azul a little tighter, humming, “Aww, I knew you loved us.”
“Wha- no!” He protested, face bright pink, “I simply appreciate you a lot!”
“Mhm, sure.” Floyd said. He looked behind Jade, checking to see if Lilia was still around. Evidently, he had left while they were underwater. He bit his lip before saying, very casually and somewhat teasing, “Love you too, ‘Zul.”
Jade took his piece with the upmost care, resting it in the palm of his gloved hand. He admired each part of it, before muttering,“I second that, Floyd.”
Azul looked away, staring toward the doorway. He felt that if he blushed any harder he might actually catch on fire, “Good, good. We all love each other. Now, I, uh….I think I have…work.” He coughed into his hand, finally getting out of the water, his clothes completely soaked. “This was pleasant. I appreciate the time we had together today. I think it’s time to, uh…yeah.” He picked up his gem from where it laid beside the pool and shoved it into his pocket. “I’ll see you later.”
“Takoyaki!” Floyd called out after him, “I mean it!”
Azul laughed and waved a hand to let him know he heard him as he left the room, feeling a lot better than he had when the day started.
“Are you going to stare with your mouth open like a carp the whole time?” He giggled.
“I can’t help it! The Savanna is so beautiful! I wish I could stay here forever.” You heaved a lovesick sigh.
He shook his head, his fingers brushing yours. “You’re so silly. It’s not like you’re never going to see this place again. Besides, you’re visiting for the whole summer and the break just started! We’ve got time to enjoy everything the Savanna has to offer.”
Your smile grew impossibly wide. “You’re right! And you get to show me everything, and I mean everything!”
Ruggie laughed. “Yeah, yeah, you’re right. I’ll be a better tour guide than Leona.”
“Sounds good.” You pecked his cheek. “But first, you promised I’d get to meet you grandma. I want to meet her first.”
He seemed to pause for only a millisecond. “Ah, yeah, you’re right. We’ll go there first.”
With your ever present bright smile, you tugged your boyfriend along as you made your way into his home village. It was small, but charming. It also gave you a pang of homesickness, but you didn’t dwell on those thoughts. You were more concerned about meeting your boyfriend’s grandmother for the first time. Whenever you managed to get him to talk about her, he spoke fondly of how she took care of him and all the other children in the village. You were determined to meet the wonderful woman who shaped the amazing guy you were absolutely in love with.
When you reached his house, he stopped you. Scratching the back of his head, he took the chance to explain, “Hey, just so you know, my grandmother, she can be a bit much sometimes. So if she’s a bit demanding or rude, that’s just who she is. She’s old-school, you know? So just, be prepared.”
You squeezed his hand, ignoring his blush for the sake of his pride. “Ruggie, I’m sure she’s just fine.”
Before he could protest, you knocked on the door. When the door opened to reveal his grandmother, she lit up. Pulling your both into a hug, she squeezed you tight.
“Ruggie! You’re here! And you brought your girlfriend! Oh, and she’s absolutely lovely! I can see why you fell in love with her.”
While you laughed, he groaned in annoyance. “Grandma, please-”
“Oh, hush!” Pulling you closer, she gave you a once over. “Let me get a good look at you. Yes, yes, you’re perfect for my Ruggie. Now come in! Come in! Tell me all about school and how you two started dating.”
“Grandma!” Ruggie barked out, his cheeks a deep shade of red. You still continued to laugh. At least you got her seal of approval. You could breathe a little easier now.
The three of you talked for hours over watery tea and biscuits. You had to admit, his grandmother was a phenomenal baker. When you mentioned this to her, she thanked you and told you she would give you the recipe so you could make them yourself. Of course this led to a discussion all about baking. And since Ruggie knew more about eating pastries than making them, he kept quiet and watched with both relief and joy to see his two favorite people getting along so well.
As he was about to make some more tea, there was a knock at the door. Upon answering it, he saw a couple of the neighborhood kids. He smiled, crouching down so he was eye level with them.
“Hey guys. How can I help you today?”
The boldest of the three took a step forward. “We saw there was an outsider in town. We’re here to check it out.”
Ruggie laughed as you walked up behind him. “Looks like the whole town knows you’re here. Y/n, meet Ayden, Isaac, and Yesenia.”
You nodded and held out your hand. “Nice to meet you three. Thank you for stopping by. I promise I’m not here to cause any trouble.”
Ayden crossed his arms over his chest. “See that you don’t. We’ve got enough problems here already.”
Yesenia tugged on his sleeve, a small pout on her lips. “Ayden, hush. Mama said not to talk about stuff like that.”
You winced a little. “Ah, well, is there anything I can do to prove I’m here as a friend?”
“Can you cook?” Isaac asked.
“Of course I can! What would you like me to make?”
The three children glanced at each other before coming to a consensus.
“Doughnuts!”
You laughed, ruffling Ruggie’s hair. “I see where you get it from.”
Swatting your hand away, he whined. “Oh c’mon!”
Shaking your head, you slipped back into the kitchen. “Grandma Bucchi, do you mind if I make doughnuts for some of the kids in town?”
She grinned. “Why, of course! Help yourself! I can even go get more ingredients if you need it. I will tell you, these kids have bottomless stomachs, just like Ruggie. One won’t be enough to satisfy them.”
You nodded. “Of course. I’ll do the best I can.”
After that, you got to work. It’s been a while since you last baked. But the process was just like riding a bicycle. It didn’t take too long for you to get back into the swing of things. Before too long, you had made a few dozen doughnuts for the kids to try.
With the goodies on a tray, you went back into the living room, where Ruggie and the kids were roughhousing. Smiling, you set the tray down on the coffee table. All four of them scrambled over, practically drooling.
“Alright. Tell me how I did.”
All it took was one bite and they were in love. The doughnuts were gone in no time and they were begging for more. You simply patted them on the head and promised you would do your best.
As you started to head back to the kitchen, Yeseniya tugged at your shirt.
“You should go to the community center. They have a bigger kitchen and more supplies so you can make even more doughnuts!”
Almost choking on nothing, you blinked owlishly at her. You didn’t think your doughnuts were that good! But her pleading eyes were making you melt. Besides, you were making these kids’ day by making them doughnuts. Who were you to deny them?
“Oh, I don’t know. We’ll have to see if it’s okay-”
“It’ll be more than okay.” Ruggie’s grandmother interjected. “We have people who come in to cook for those who can’t afford it all the time. Besides, the center is always open and fully stocked for whoever needs to use it. Money is hard to come by in these parts, so we’re always lending a helping hand to those who need it.”
A pang of empathy hit your heart as you thought about what she had to say. Well, if it was for a good cause, you had to do it now! So with a smile, you nodded.
“I’ll do it.”
“Yay!” The kids started tugging at you, dragging you to the community center. Ruggie just laughed and followed along.
Before too long you were cooking up a storm in the community center. Ruggie was acting as your faithful assistant, plating the warm doughnuts and setting them out for people to take. The three kids had raced around the town, telling people that there were free doughnuts at the community center. Ruggie’s grandmother was helping you keep up with all the hungry people. You had it all down to a system, making sure everyone got more than they needed.
While this wasn’t what you had in mind when you came to the Sunset Savana for holiday break with Ruggie, you were happy with how it turned out. It makes you feel good to help others and put a smile on people’s faces. You were swapping stories of home with Ruggie’s grandmother, and learning all of his embarrassing stories from when he was a little kid. It felt like you really had joined the Bucchi family and become a part of his home.
Little did you know that Ruggie was so happy he brought you home. Seeing you get along with his grandmother and his hometown made him swell with pride and love. He didn’t believe it was possible to fall in love with you more than he already was. Yet here he was, falling in love with you all over again. You were absolutely perfect, not just for him, but for his family as well. It was then that he made a vow to himself that he would never let you.
By the time the last plate of doughnuts were taken, the sun was setting on the horizon. You and his grandmother were out of breath, practically collapsed on kitchen chairs. He smiled tenderly at the sweet scene before him.
“Don’t worry about dinner tonight. I’ll take care of it. It’s the least I could do for all your hard work today.” He said.
You smiled gratefully at him. “Thank you Ruggie, that would be wonderful.”
“Think you can help your old granny home?” His grandmother asked with a breathy chuckle. “These old bones ain’t what they used to be.”
He chuckled. “Of course. Then you can tell me what you want to eat tonight.”
“Not doughnuts, that’s for sure.” She muttered as Ruggie helped her onto his back.
As the three of you walked back to his grandmother’s house, he smiled while listening to his grandmother go on and on about what she wanted to eat, your hand in his.
MC figuring out their home is destroyed pt.3
Here's part 3! Thank you guys for all the support! Lots of dialogue, like seriously, sorry. Taglist at the bottom!
angst, ooc characters(?), slight swearing(one word), mc/yuu x dormleaders(kind of), part 1, part 2, part 4?, masterlist
______________________________________________________________
At Ramshackle, Crowely knocks on the door
"Can't you just unlock the door?" Leona asks, he says it in a tone like he threatening to leave if Crowley doesn't go quicker.
"It would be rude to barge into her house." Crowely tells them.
"Don't you mean dorm?" Azul questions.
"That's what I said."
"No it's not."
"Yes, it is-"
Azul goes silent as he hears the door creak open. You're there, rubbing your eyes.
"What now Crowely?..." you go silent as you see your fellow dorm leaders. Crowely's face seems to be a mixture of of nervousness and another emotion you can't quite pinpoint. Guilt? Relief? You can't say. "Why are you guys here?" you ask them, there is slight hostility in your voice.
"Well-" "I was so worried!"
Kalim throws himself onto you. "I was so scared! No student had seen you in days and no one told us anything!" Kalim hugs you as he speaks.
"Speaking of which," Riddle interjects, "what happened?" Despite his seemingly angry tone, there's worry in his voice.
"Nothing happened."
"Well something must have or else you wouldn't be here. You would be back in your world."
"It doesn't matter. Not to you anyway." you mutter that last part, but Leona still hears you.
"Actually it does, if your missing classes and not showing up for school events. It does matter." Leona says to you.
"He's right."
You look at your friends, eyeing each one of them. "I appreciate your worries but I just want you guys to leave me alone."
"We're just worried about you!"
Everyone then starts talking over each other except for you and Crowley. He's standing to the side, regretting taking the dorm leaders with him to see you. Ugh, this is making my head hurt. "Can you guys SHUT UP!?" Everyone goes quiet, they're not used to you yelling like that.
"[Y/N] calm down."
"No Vil! You don't get to tell me to calm down! I've been having a bad week, and now I have to give excuses for you guys to get off my ass!"
They're all quiet for second.
"It's just..it seemed like you wanted to go home..so bad." It's Idia, speaking softly, yet speaking here in person nonetheless. Everyone's surprised he spoke up.
"Yes, what happened?" Malleus now talks, softness in his voice. "We just want to know what's going on and why you aren't going home or possibly, couldn't go home."
You're silent for a bit. "It's not that I couldn't go home exactly.." you pause, wondering if you should tell them. Your voice starts trembling, "I just don't have a home I could go back to..."
Thoughts are whirling in your head.
"What do you mean? Like your family doesn't want you back or-"
"No." you interrupt. "I told you, you wouldn't get it." You try to keep your composure. "My world is....destroyed, when I visited it, i-it was a wasteland." You didn't even know you were crying until your vision blurred from tears. "T-There was n-nothing left." hiccups then start interrupting your sentence, "E-Even hic my f-family.." you couldn't finish your sentence.
A moment passes.
Kalim hugs you again, more softly than before. You fell to your knees, hugging and crying into Kalim's chest. At first, no one else moved. Then Malleus crouches on the ground and hugs you as well. Over the next few minutes all of the dorm leaders comfort you, it being them hugging you or saying reassurances or both. But with them here, deep down, you know you'll be okay.
______________________________________________________________
I don't plan on doing anymore parts of this but you can request(in comments or request page) for scenarios that take place in this AU after this takes place. Or I can make a part four if given enough material. Seriously though, thank you!
Replacement
Where there's a new exchange student that replaced the Ramshackle student
Tumblr media
Stunning, enthralling, captivating, and enchanting.
That's the only way to define the youthful Y/n L/n. Her beauty knew no bounds; it approached and transcended heaven itself. It seemed as though every speck of beauty had been bestowed on her and her alone. She was attractive enough to attract the attention of others. She was born to be the center of attention. She was destined to have everything in the palms of her hands.
So, in what ways can Yuu compete with her? They, unlike her, are inept pupils who cannot wield a single magical power. They are someone who is well-liked and simple to manipulate. Yuu is someone who easily falls into pleasant deception with an empty promise—an endless lifestyle filled with nothing but deceptive gestures.
Y/n was more essential compared to everything else. She had complete influence over every person in this place. With the flick of a finger, she could make thousands of people become infatuated with her ethereal beauty. It was dangerous, clever, and wicked of her. It was very unfair towards Yuu, who had fought hard to earn a position in this world.
Wrong. Oh, how completely incorrect they were.
Yuu has no idea when everything changed. They had no idea when the Ace had abandoned them in favor of her. It was terrible and depressing to witness their their supposed to be lover cling to someone else. It sparked sentiments of jealousy and insecurity within them. Of course, they recognize their shortcomings in comparison to her, but surely it can't be that horrible, right?
“Good puppy! You succeeded in creating a superb mid-grade potion." Yuu casts a peek in her direction, where she smiles warmly at Crewel. Receiving compliments from one of the harsh professors was difficult. They were aware that it required a complete concentration on a single mid-grade potion. "It's nothing, Mr. Crewel. I was able to brew such a potion thanks to your teachings."
Yuu bit their bottom lip, glancing down at the concoction they'd brewed. It was nothing out of the ordinary for her. "Man, being in the same group as Y/n must have been wonderful." When they heard this, the prefect frowned. They shifted their eyes to Ace, who seemed astounded by her stunning looks.
It wasn't necessary to inform Yuu. They are aware of their flaws, which are the things they have worked so hard to conceal. It made them over think through every possibility. Whether at this point, they're a great partner to have around in alchemy class or not. Whether they're compatible with the new transfer student. Whether somewhere in this society—they still had a place where they truly belonged.
Yuu was overwhelmed. Everything that's occurring and every single second that revolts against them all. It didn't help their condition that they had been fixing all of the problems at this college. All of that goodwill, though, might have been wiped away in an instant with just one transfer student. They are now back in ostracized land.
A land where their worth may not be recognized. Where neither of them would turn back to face them. They will pretend to be unaware of the call for assistance or their own guidance. Should Yuu live in such a world? They barely understood the concept of magic, so taking away a sociable friend would be far viler than anyone could have imagined.
Yuu wondered where all of that transient joy had gone. The days of all of their friends conversing, playing, or just seeking their assistance are long gone. It was terrible, empty, and lonely. The stars that had adorned the black sky had floated away to a far more enthralling cosmos, leaving behind their moon that had screamed out in agony.
They had no idea that the point of view had shifted. Where the wariness and antagonism transform into a ferocious loathing for the girl. A foul, horrible, and violent set of emotions engulfed their journey — their bliss.
It was unwarranted, even unfair. They had worked hard for it, and the foundation upon which they had relied shattered right in front of them. They have been replaced by a new monarch, who has replaced those sad memories with a great delight that she has disseminated. A happiness that many wanted in this place; whether it was acceptance, comfort, or anything else, she was there to provide it.
Alas, what about them? What about them that had offered it all at once to those ungrateful bastards all at once? The price they had to pay for being polite and helpful has completely stabbed them in the back. It had cloaked their long-standing compassion in resentment and venom. It contaminated their hearts with something Yuu themselves could not recognize.
A tray was placed in front of them, jolting them out of their stupor. Yuu looked up to see the transfer student, who was eating a lemon lollipop and smiling at them. "You must have been Yuu, right?  I never got the opportunity to properly greet you." That's true. They were far too preoccupied with avoiding her, which caused others to question their actions.
"You know, being here at the beginning... Is extremely bothersome." She acknowledged it with a warm grin, sitting across from them and removing their lemon-flavored sweets. "Because I felt like an alien species that had infiltrated Earth, attracting the attention of scientists, you know?"
Yuu moved their eyes over the table till it was pulled to the line where the two Adeuce duo were now trapped, with Grim by their side. "And I genuinely admire you." When they heard that, they trembled and looked towards the Y/n direction. She smiled with her eyes squinted as she leaned her chin on the top of her palm.
That was a risky action, and Yuu was confident that the hierarchies all over this place had altered. As the rumor had it, despite her developed and chilly exterior, she's quite a kind-hearted charmer, and people might let down their defenses around her. Her natural appearance was even more powerful than Jamil's dreadful, unique magic that lay with the help of a magic power.
It is said that Yuu was wary of her. They contemplate the consequences of their ill-mannered intentions. What sort of ploy or schemes have they created before entering this place? What exactly does Y/n seek in this place instead of a studious relationship between two schools? There's no way they would've sent someone that could've been an important assessment to the school to a villainous school.
 "N/n~!" Yuu nervously turned to face the source of the sound, watching Cater enthusiastically wave his hand about, with Riddle and Trey sitting right beside him. There was an empty place between them, indicating that they had intended to invite her over for lunch. And they weren't so blind as to overlook it.
Such a joyous personality, one that elevates others' emotions and makes them grin. It was pointless to try to get rid of her at this point. Y/n had made a tangle of ties with the individuals they had admired. There will be no unnecessary commotion because a mediator has arrived.
“I’ll talk to you later, Yuu! Oh, and tell Ace I'll meet him after school!!”
These two are diametrically opposed. She, who understands the world — such as the trend, the lesson, and all the wisdom that they could never comprehend. In comparison, they did little more than provide a momentary moment of consolation. It all collapses and vanishes just in front of their eyes. And all that is left is a sense of disdain, sorrow, and torment.
I just read your Ramshackle fics?? Heascanons?? For Twisted Wonderland and oh my gods I am invested. All I can imagine is MC, livid and in tears, storming their way through campus to the headmaster’s office (where maybe a prefect meeting was about to start, like they were waiting on MC or something) and MC is pissed. Throwing a diary at the headmaster, cursing him out, claiming he killed them (the previous ramshackle students). Of course everyone is like “wtff 👀” staring at each other before MC takes another diary out of their bag and begins to read the entries (specifically about how they barely have any money for food and such, and that one kid who started the school year with a round healthy face is now very pale and thin). I’m sorry I can’t. Like it never crossed my mind that those graves could belong to previous students and the fact that it’s “covered up” especially in your story. I can also just imagine MC cleaning the gravestones afterwards like you said and the rest of the students checking up on MC. And like how would they react to all the diaries ending on the same date (especially if it’s fast approaching??). But like how would they other students react to the things MC discovered about the Ramshackle dorm in general.
But anyway, I love this. I love your story. It got my brain going, my brain thinking. Take you time, sweetie, but holy fuck I need more. Like shit this is so good!! Like I want to know more. I really want to know more. I can just see Ace, Deuce, Grim, and MC just going on little adventures uncovering the secrets of Ramshackle dorm, like holy shit. What if they found a journal about another student like MC, as in magic-less and essentially coming from a different world/dimension. Keep up the good work sweetie, my mind is completely blown.
A/N: sorry bestie I start rambling towards the end let me know of any Grammer or spelling errors!
If you want more of my ramshackle/other dorms hc or have any of your own I'm just and ask away ♡
CW: mentions of bullying and death!
Tumblr media
I am so glad you loved it, bestie! And oh yes, I've come up with so much ramshackle brain rot and the whole there was another MC tidbit, I'll go into that with my own Mc, but I don't want to spoil anything.
I have it all but its all unorganized in a Google doc But here is a little snippet:
Crowley turns a blind eye to most things, especially when money and more acclaimed are involved. What's the cost of a few nobodys who can't do magic disappearing? They're just ghosts.. shadows, a blink and they're gone. Only a few remember those faceless, nameless students, and the memories they do have are of them being pushed down stairs or being forced to dance in hot iron shoes. Many of the NRC alumni have fond memories of being sorted into their dorms, making new friends, skipping classes to take a dip in the lake.
Sadly, for the students unlucky enough to be sorted into that dorm overlooking the hill, it was a death sentence. In the past, the dorm residents just dropped out after the first few months, not even making it to the first exams. However, enough stayed one year to warn teach the incoming first years. Most of the teachers were there for the check, and only a few cared about their students. For the ones who cared, seeing the life drain from some of the brightest minds they've seen was gut-wrenching. There was nothing they could do. Crowley turned his back as he counted his money, and all they could do was the same.
Tumblr media
I absolutely love it when Disney let's Yana make the twst world dark, even if it's just little sprinkles. Like the gem mines and the two OB dwarfs, or what Leona went through back in the afterglow. I have a lot of stuff that I've written that I don't post much of because I let the intrusive thoughts win and shit gets dark quick. It's the implications of how TWISTED everything is, gets me going.
The ghosts don't remember a lot of their previous lives, but they feel a calling. So maybe doing that calling would help them remember so they can move on. They're not working because Crowley can cheap out; they're working because it's where they feel the safest. The librarian ghosts are there because, in some long forgotten past, they remember hiding away in the deepest parts of the library.
I like to play that the whole house is alive trope, but not in the way Casita is, but the way the house from Monster House is. Ramshackle is aware of everything and it's letting Mc solve the mystery of its forgotten past.
Tumblr media
Mc didn't need to read the rest of the diaries to know how things went for the other students. They only needed to read one. While flipping through the pages, they noticed dark splotches littered the later entries. They thought it was just a way to censor the lives this school ruined, as the stain always covered the date or a name.
The log books weren't any better. Mc took note of how every few months the penmanship would change. Neat and flowing cursive to thoughtless and stiff chicken scratch, either the writer would change or they were reading someone else's devolve into insanity.
Day 45-
We were given our monthly budget … only 300 modals to split between 20 students. I asked the Headmaster if he could increase our amount but all he said he was stretched thin with the building of the new calaseam everyone's budget would be low for the coming months.
Day 49-
I asked around the other leaders and they said their budget had been the same… each of them getting around 3,000,000 modal.. That is 5 times the amount we get. We can only buy bread with the amount we're given.
Then at some point the log book changed from budgeting and general grievance to count how many students they'd lose.
Day 112-
I watched as two of my first years walked into the woods with five Scarabia third years following close behind. only the third years came out.. 18 students remain.
Day 195-
I sent two of my dorm members to collect papers from whoever is the current Savanaclaw dorm leader. It was a mistake as it's been three days and they have yet to return. 14 students remain.
Tumblr media
Those are some of the things of note that I wrote for Ramshackle Lore. Tho the one thing I disagree with is Crowley part bestie... Sure, Crowley can be an ass, but he's shown that he cares about his students. Like during Chap 2, he could have ignored the students getting injured, but he didn't, so he went to the person he trusted the most to solve the case. Crowley knows that if he goes around asking questions, the students will get scared because if the Headmaster is calling the students getting injured into question, that means something bad is happening. Word got back to Leona that he would have to lay low, throwing his entire plan into the fire. So, by getting a student to do the questioning, the culprit would be caught. He also disregards leona's title and reprmands him for his dirty tricks.
I believe the previous headmaster(s) turned a blind eye to the treatment of previous ramshackle students. But it would be a great scene..
An angry Mc bursting into his office during a dorm leader meeting throwing a book at him while spewing vitriol at Crowley because, for all they know, he's been the headmaster. They blam him for the deaths of the students. He knew what was happening and he looked away, and he's going to do the same to them. Crowley shuffles through some of the pages. He can see why Mc would assume the worst. While waiting for them to calm down, he will explains himself.
Ramshackle had long abandoned when he became headmaster. It wasn't like he also wanted to know the history of the decaying dorm. Why do you think he meets with the ramshackle ghosts? Every time he thinks he's getting close to the truth, fifty more mysteries appear. It's all just a misunderstanding. He knows he can be irresponsible and let money blind him. Anyone would do that, but he'd never go as far as to let students hurt others just for the hell of it.
Phantom Bride: The proposal of a magicless prefect.
“Utterly disastrous ”
The prefect of the Ramshackle could only sigh as she observed how the so-called capable students went into the cafeteria in order to conquer the heart of the ghost bride, Eliza.
At first, she thought the entire situation was going to be quickly solved, as her classmates were motivated (as always) by rivalry and selfishness. However, as soon as (Y/n) heard proposal after proposal, her hopes went significantly down.
Either way, it would be a lie to say that she didn’t felt amused as the bride slapped every suitor that stepped into the room. Eliza shut down the proposal of housewardens, vicehousewardens and a bunch of people who constantly mocked her for being a magicless student. Oh, how delightful was to see their pride being throw over the window.
Still, the prefect wondered how hopeless they could be. Every single proposal sounded so stiff and lacking of sincerity, she even started to feel sorry for whoever that would be the romantic partner of those irremediable creatures called men.
So, she decided to solve the issue by herself.
As soon as the remaining students stepped out of the school to come up with another strategy, (Y/n) stood firmly in the middle of her classmates, and with a sudden rush of confidence said,
“I have a plan.”
“Great Sevens, I know I haven’t been a top tier person, but I know for sure I don’t deserve to go to the afterlife without seeing the next concert of Precipice Moirai…” Idia mumbled as the preparations for his wedding kept going around him. “At least give me a worthy heroine to save me instead of these normies, agh…” He groaned to himself.
“You know we’re right next to you, right?” Commented Trey, earning a scared glare from Idia, who, in fact, forgot he wasn’t alone, too buried in his own lament.
“Idia, my love, I see your perturbed expression! I’m so sorry that I had to leave your side for a minute, you must so impatient for our wedding.” Eliza appeared once again in the room, hurrying her steps to comeback to her spot next to the groom.
The blue haired housewarden could only let a panicked cry, silently coming back to his mental goodbye speech for every game and figurine that resided in his bedroom, continuing to lament every performance that he would miss from his favorite idol groups, to regret all those mangas he said he would buy later…
However, in the middle of his monologue, he was interrupted by the loud sound of the doors of the cafeteria being abruptly opened, which was followed by the melody of trumpets (although it seemed to come from a speaker, rather than an actual instrument).
Everyone in the room fixed their gazes on the source of such scandalous arrival, encountering the figure of a magnificent white horse, escorted by Riddle and Epel in the front, while Rook and Ace remained in the back of the group.
The biggest shock out of the entrance? The person who was ridding the horse.
The great prefect of the Ramshackle Dorm, looking particularly sublime while wearing the most magnificent tuxedo suit they could find, which complemented perfectly each beautiful feature that she had. Her eyes looking as shiny as the jewels that adorned her clothes and hands, matching exceptionally the bouquet of flowers that she held.
“Your Highness” Saluted Riddle, bowing slightly his head towards the ghost. “I present you to Princess (Y/n), the most admirable and outstanding member of Night Raven College, who has come to present you her wishes of courting you” Introduced politely the housewarden, as Rook helped the prefect to get down of the horse.
Eliza’s expression looked amazed as (Y/n) approached her, confidence and determination radiating from her gaze, as she softly took on the bride’s hands, laying the most delicate kiss she could on it. Then, placing the bouquet of flowers in the ghost’s possession, carefully keeping eye contact with the princess.
“My Lady, how pleasant is for me to be able to contemplate your beauty with my own eyes.” The prefect praised, performing with the most genuine smile she could draw on her face. “I’m aware that I have arrived a bit late, and that I might not be fitting of your expectations for a partner, but I just couldn’t give up the chance of express my adoration for you”.
“Not only you’re late, but I see you ignore my soon-to-be-husband, he’s right here!” Eliza quickly snapped out of her initial surprise, as Idia stood next to her, his eyes screaming ‘please take me out of here’ at the magicless student.
“I can assure that I don’t, princess. But I want to demonstrate you how perplexed I have been left by your mere presence, I’m in awe ever since I first saw you, and I can’t let you marry him without trying to capture your heart myself.” (Y/n) proclaimed proudly, trying her best not to forget every word that Rook suggested her to use.
“…I’ll give you a minute, just because I’m feeling benevolent”.
“It’ll be enough, my Lady.”
“Would you believe how long I’ve waited~? I’ve waited for so very long! For a glimpse of that tender smile...From youuuuu~!”
Sang the ghost, in the same way she did with the previous suitors, immediately noticing how the so-called princess (Y/n) didn’t follow her melody, and remained silent, watching her carefully. “How dare you to come here just to ignore my song! Haven’t you been taught of the courting rituals of a princess?!”
“…I apologize, Your Highness.” The prefect bowed her head in an apologetic manner. “But I have never heard such magnificent voice before, you have left me tongue-tied with the sweetness of your tune.” She smiled modestly, as the bride blushed slightly in reaction to her words.
Rook silently praised the words of his student, what a magnifique demonstration of devotion.
“I-It’s alright, Lady (Y/n)…” Answered Eliza, switching her gaze between the sweet suitor in front of her and the blue haired man that remained watching in silence how the student from Ramshackle tried to steal his position as the groom (not that he complained, though). “But you must understand that the time for my wedding is getting closer, so I ask you directly: What is your motive to ask my hand in marriage?”
The prefect sighed profusely in a dramatic way, as she fixed her suit, closing her eyes momentarily to prepare herself for the most demanding part of her performance of the night.
“Princess Eliza… As soon as I heard your story, the way you spent so many years looking for someone that could genuinely love you, I felt touched by your dedication and patience. Everybody could believe that after all these years, you would a bitter and tired bride, yet you remain as hopeful and kind as you can”.
The rest of the students could only roll their eyes as (Y/n) described the great kindness of the bride, the slaps on their faces aching slightly once again.
“You deserve nothing but true and sincere love, to be with a person that respects you and understands how precious you are.” She continued, looking for a second at one of the ghosts in the back, who looked at the bride with melancholy. “A perfect prince might not exist out there for you, but with the enough loyalty and trust, you'll forget about any ideal you had before.” The magicless woman kneeled down to the expectant bride. “So, my dear Princess Eliza, will you let me have the privilege of marrying you?”
The room stayed silent for a few seconds, with the spectators listening in eager awaiting to be released from the spell, as the ghost looked at the prefect with wide eyes and a crimson tone adorned her cheeks.
"What do you think about this, dear?" Eliza suddenly turned to Idia, who seemed a bit more relaxed after the declaration of the Ramshackle member.
"That was cool, I bet that if we were in a otome game, the affinity bar would have went like, a 20% up, y'know?"
"..."
An awkward ambient was set after the Ignihyde student's words, which was broken by the prefect clearing her throat to attract Eliza's attention to her. The bride looked at the prefect again, analysing her expression as if she was considering her options.
"...I accept your proposal, Lady (Y/n)!"
The declaration was loud and clear as the ghost threw herself at the arms of the human student, who reacted quick enough to catch her, feeling immediate relieve at the positive result of her plan.
Now she just had to put the ring on Eliza's finger.
"Just another day of saving everyone here at Twisted Wonderland".
The prefect thought, as she bid goodbye to Eliza and her now husband, along with the rest of the ghosts.
(Y/n) was glad to have been able to solve everything in the best way possible, even if it implied that she was left planted at the altar. Either way, she wasn't ready to get married yet, it was alright.
As soon as the room was left with nothing but students from the school, the prefect dramatically took the bouquet she brought with her, turning to the direction were her released classmates stood.
"And that's how you ask a woman to marry you. Y'all could learn one or two things from me, suckers."
(Y/n) smirked proudly of her work, throwing the bouquet at them as she walked with Grim out of the cafeteria, ready to go to her dorm and finally rest without ghosts invading her home.
┏ ⋙YOU GOT TO KISS THE SNAKE (JAMIL VIPER X READER) (1) ┛
Part 1, Part 2 (coming soon!)…━━━━━☆
“This man, I swear…” you muttered in frustration to yourself, feeling the butterflies fluttering in your stomach.
Black, braided hair glistening under the light, embroider with gold and shimmering hair bands that held his hair in a ponytail. He was just so pretty; beautiful dark skin, charcoal grey orbs that shone with such enigmatic aura, sharp eyelashes and all used to form a relaxed, handsome expression, you could look away from the Scarabia vice dorm much to your dismay.
“He’s just so pretty…” you groaned, stuffing your face into your arm as you blushed.
Jamil lifted his head to see your tired entity and blinked.
“Tired?”
“Go away…” Not knowing what to do, you let out a protesting groan, which proved you worse when he let out a soft and smooth chuckle that made you swoon internally.
“Whatever, Y/N. Make sure to get some rest,” Jamil placed a hand on your head and rubbed it gently and soothingly, smiling when you leaned very subtly into his touch.
He stood up, walking away. How you wished you could just wrap your arms around his torso and permit him to stay by your side, burying your face and take in his scent of aromatic spices and sweet flower perfume…
“Y/N!” You were startled by a cheery outburst, thoughts cut off by a joyous Kalim skipping towards you with a bright grin.
“Hey, Y/N! Have you seen Jamil?”
“Er… he was here a few seconds ago… I think he went back to his dorm…”
“Oh, okay!”
Kalim was ready to head out, but he paused as he observed how dull and gloomy you looked, and he decided he’d stay here with you for awhile in hopes of lifting you from the dumps.
“Hey, you okay?” Kalim jested with a concerned smile, eyebrows slightly furrowed as he bends down to meet your eyes.
“I… well…” you murmured. Were you thinking of Jamil for at least two nights? Maybe. Did those thoughts of him made you sleep? Definitely not. Being caught up with intense romantic feelings for such a pretty guy just sucks. It really sucks. The thoughts of ever confessing to Jamil made you all tingly and warm, before it drowns you in a hopeless void if you were to ever do such act.
“It’s Jamil.”
“Oh, what about him?”
“I can’t do it.”
“Can’t what?” Kalim raised an eyebrow as he draws his lips into a pout.
“He’s just- he’s so- he’s-“
“You like him?” Kalim uttered out straightforwardly as you blushed profusely.
“K-Kalim?!”
“I mean, I had the feeling you do every time you mention him, when you hang out with him, when you look at him, hear him, and you get this look in your eyes I don’t know how to describe but it’s like really noticeable to me and-“
“O-okay! Okay! I- Kalim, I- I do kind of like Jamil..”
“I think you like him a lot.”
“ANYWAYS..” you did not expect Kalim to be this observant around you, let alone just read your emotional state like an open book. That boy is just full of unexpected surprises in the most unexpected way possible.
“I just don’t know how to bring it up to him… “
Kalim looked even more baffled. “Just tell him.”
“I can’t!”
“Why?”
“I- I’m scared to even tell him an inch of how I feel, Kalim!” You blurred out the truth with exasperation.
“Scared..? Y/N, I’m sure you don’t know this, because Jamil wouldn’t say it straight to you either, but he’s really into you! Like, he talks about you, what you did that day, he thinks you’re pretty… actually wait those were secrets between me and him-“
“K-Kalim… p-please have mercy on my heart…” you clutched your hand tightly at your chest as you hugged your stomach with the other with a furious red dusting on your face.
“I can’t keep a secret like this in such a dire situation… which in that case…”
Kalim pumped his fist up high into the air, smiling with triumph and with confidence.
“We’ll just have you two go on a date!”
“W-w-what?!”
“Just the two of you getting your feelings across with no worries! That’s what I’ll do! Set you two up on a date!”
The silver haired boy was smiling proudly to himself with the idea he came up with. You, on the other hand, looked like you were knocked out of air.
“I’m gonna start planning, but Y/N,” Kalim’s lighthearted smile turned into a serious expression with garnet eyes looking at you with firm emotions.
“You have to tell him. Otherwise, you’ll drag on until it’s too late.”
You gulped, your heart started to beat faster without you knowing it and knowing why.
“Oh yeah, and you gotta kiss him, too!”
“Kalim!”
