Hanzo: None of you might remember this, but there was a time when Kuai Liang was considered out of my league.
Hanzo: oh how the mighty have fallen (into my arms)

The year is 1995:
Midway: Hey, Scorpion, we're releasing an updated version of Mortal Kombat 3. We were wondering if you'd like to join the roster this time around.
Scorpion: Of course I would! Finally, a chance to be part of the trilogy.
Midway: Beautiful. Now, we need to figure out your Animality-
Scorpion: There is nothing to figure out. I will become my namesake, as is appropriate.
Midway: Yeah...about that... See, in the first version, we gave the scorpion Animality to Sheeva. And it would be kinda lame of two characters shared the same one.
Scorpion: Can't you change it?
Midway: Sorry, not in the budget.
Scorpion: Grr...all right, how about a snake of sorts?
Midway: That one went to Shang Tsung.
Scorpion: That bastard! Maybe a dragon-
Midway: We gave that to Liu Kang.
Scorpion: A cheetah? They're yellow, I'm yellow.
Midway: Kung Lao.
Scorpion: Oh, we're wasting time. What animal is left for me? Something impressive and intimidating?
Midway: (Looks away awkwardly)
Scorpion: (Taking off his mask to reveal his flaming skull) Something IMPRESSIVE AND INTIMIDATING?
