Oliver's backstory!! TW for SA, abuse, death, animal death, bullying, and trauma.

Oliver Love, 25, born in Tealand, Chambridge. Their mother (Verona Love) was a human, and their father (Geralt Love) was a fruit bat chimera. Their parents were very wealthy, which caused them to be quite spoiled. Their father was a bit of an odd man but was still kind, and their mother was nice and caring. Their city was populated mainly by chimeras, and they had many friends.

When she was 6, she went outside to play tea party with her toys. She suddenly noticed the smell of smoke, grabbed her teddy bear, and ran back to her house. She was horrified to find her house and city engulfed in flames. She closed her eyes tight and sobbed, hoping it was all a horrible nightmare.

Next thing she knew, she was being sent to an orphanage in Matchester. She gripped onto her teddy bear, the last remaining thing of her parents and her home. When she stepped into the orphanage, she noticed that none of her friends were there. Everything she used to know was gone.

Pups life in the orphanage was horrible. Pup was bullied by the children, and the adults were just as cruel. Pup had no one to play with, and often talked to pups toys. Even at school pup didn't get a break. Pup was often physically pushed around by other kids and none of the adults noticed or just straight up didn't care.

When they were 12, they found a stray dog. They fed him and the dog started following them. They became friends with the dog, and came to visit and feed him every day. On an unfortunate day they visited the dog and saw some bullies beating him up. They begged them to stop, but the bullies laughed at them and pushed them to the ground.

They got up, and found the dog gravely injured. They took him to a vet but unfortunately he ended up dying from his injuries. They were devastated their only friend was dead, until they had an idea. They dug him up, and took him to an abandoned building to try to bring him back to life. After many failed attempts, they're about to give up until… it worked! It actually worked!

She continues taking care of the dog, and takes an interest in mad science. She practices reviving animals and various other experiments. She even trains the dog to help her! (aka training him to bring her things) She still has it rough, but her experiments and her best friend keep her going.

In high school, she was a generally quiet kid. Her hair was a mess, she was tired all the time, and didn't really want to hang out with anyone. However, one day a cat chimera approached her at lunch. He introduced himself as Katelyn. Oliver was confused, but hesitantly introduces herself too. They talk about science for a while, and he tells her that he has something to show her, but she can't tell anyone. He shows her a robot he made, and she is stunned.

Pup tells him that pups been thinking of a way to make a combination of biology and robotics, and they both come up with a theoretical experiment of a robot with human organs. The bell rings and pup asks to be his friend, and he accepts. He also says they can hang out again sometime.

Katelyn introduces them to her friend a few days later at lunch. She introduces Oliver, and introduces him as Charlie. They hold their hand out and before they can say anything, he aggressively shakes it. He tells them that he's also a scientist, and is interested in chemistry. He also tells them that his mom has a lab they can use.

They are a bit put off by all of his energy, but note the part about the lab. Katelyn apologizes for his eccentricity, but they say it's fine. The bell rings and they go to their respective classes. Later that day, Charlie witnesses a kid bullying them. He goes to defend them, attacking the bully. A teacher sees this and gives them all detention. He apologizes, but Oliver thanks him for defending them. He smiles and says it was no problem.

In their Junior year, a teacher tells them to stay after class. They ask if they're in trouble, but he assures them they're not. Then he starts… touching them. They try to push him away, but fail. They beg him to stop but he doesn't. When he lets them leave he tells them to never tell anyone about this, or else. They are horrified.

The next day she tells Katelyn and Charlie about what happened. She begs them not to tell anyone else, especially not any adults. They promise they won't. They both try to comfort her the best they can. It's not enough.

While walking in the hallway, someone bumps into her. This triggers her, and she attacks them. After realizing what she did, she runs away and hides. After school, another kid pushes her and calls her a monster. She attacks them in anger, but she goes too far. She looks at what she did in fear and exhilaration. She takes the body to her lab to hide the evidence, and decides to experiment on them. It gave her a sick sense of enjoyment and retribution.

They start kidnapping other students to experiment on. Katelyn notices that students are starting to disappear, and Oliver's odd demeanor. She tells them that she knows whats going on, which makes them freak out. She assures them that she'll keep their secret, since they kept hers. They calm down, but still feel a bit on edge.

A week before prom night, Charlie mentions how they want to go, but have no one to go with. Oliver asks if she could go with them, as friends of course. They excitedly accept and invite her. On prom night, she tries on a few dresses, and ends up settling on a beautiful light pink dress. When she goes to meet Charlie, they're wearing a ridiculous looking suit. Somehow, they still look kind of cute…

At prom, they both have an amazing time! They eat snacks, and pup even asks to dance with Charlie. Charlie accepts, although he seems a bit nervous. Pup wonders why, but they're both having fun so pup quickly forgets about it. They both leave, and pup thanks them for a great time.

A couple months later they decide to take Charlie to see their lab. As they enter, they look around and realize they missed a bloodstain. They panic but try to keep calm and composed. They ask him to be his lab partner, and he pauses, which worries them. He accepts the offer, and they sigh with relief. They explains what this job entails, and he seems strangely chill with it. They don't really care though, as long as he's there to help.

Charlie and Oliver went to college together, but Katelyn moved away. After college, they buy a mansion and Charlie moves in with them. They continue doing their experiments together, until a villain organization contacts her. They ask her to work for them as a villain, and she responds that before she can accept their offer Charlie must be able to work with her. They accept Oliver's proposal, and they start working under the organization and are given new villain names.

After a while they start getting the hero organization's attention. They have a hero sent after them, and they fight. The battle is intense, and as she gets the upper hand the hero suddenly slashes her eye. She cries and yells in pain, and Charlie quickly comes to her aid. The hero leaves, and Charlie yells at the hero for being a coward.

My advice was that you might want to focus on those who would actually take the time and make the effort, ignoring everyone who might be powerful and upset, but ultimately irrelevant once they go home

so the Tedds have been brought up for this, I'm concerned about Fernanda. Not sure who else? Maybe the Hennigars, they seem prone to violent solutions and might have an additional grudge for having Alpeana go after Mccauleigh. I don't think we know enough about the personalities of most junior students to speculate. Concerned about Chase and Tanner (and Wye) though.

for now, part of what I’m passing on is a recommendation: steer clear of the Tedds, and stay away from the Belangers.

yeah, this is a nightmare. We've seen some other teachers use their children/apprentices as class assistants, or even things that seemed more like tests for the assistant as well as the class. But putting him up in front of everyone else, with no distractions, and quizzing and criticizing him like this... no wonder he didn't want to go to class

well. I guess I will find out how it goes! I wonder if they're going to be immediately suspicious of the girls? I feel like it's logical to look at people involved in the conflict at the school first, but maybe they'll feel its implausible power-wise and think some other enemy of hi seized the opportunity? For motives, the Kennet Trio had openly opposed him, but also were even more anti-Bristow. And having got rid of one headmaster right beforehand does not make them look innocent. Other people with motivation... some of the Aware, Nicolette, teachers who sided with Bristow

I hope Verona (or Avery) don't start trying to solve this murder, maybe in an attempt to prove their innocence

Given that the major factor holding up her family was Chase's apprenticeship, I'd imagine that losing both potential sponsors comes as a blow. VERONA, N,Y. (March 2, 2024) — Raymond “Savage” Ford (15-0-1, 8 KOs) captured the WBA featherweight world title with a dramatic, come-from-behind 12th-round TKO win against Uzbek phenom Otabek Kholmatov (12-1, 11 KOs). Trailing on two of three scorecards, Ford dug deep to secure his first world title in the final round, as Kholmatov was ahead with two scores of 106-103, while one judge had it 105-104 for the native of Camden, New Jersey. Kholmatov started off strong, pressuring and hurting Ford with a left hand in the second round. Ford then began to change the dynamic by pressuring the power puncher, using his high guard to stand in front of Kholmatov to land his offense. By the seventh round, both men were going toe-to-toe in the center of the ring. Kholmatov fought on the outside in the later rounds, but he was hurt by Ford in the final stanza. Ford quickly capitalized and landed a flurry. Referee Charlie Fitch waved off the contest at 2:53 as Kholmatov staggered into the ropes.  Ford said, “My coach told me to bring that dog out. We knew we were coming into their territory. This wasn’t under our promotion. But we had to dig deep. The whole time in the corner, I kept telling myself, ‘I’m going to stop him.’ I felt him breaking down as the rounds went on. “I started off a little slow. I felt I didn’t really have the energy and the legs to be the sharper boxer I know I can be. That was due to a tough weight cut. So, this may be my last fight at 126. Then, we’ll go up to 130 and call out the champions there. “I knew I had to stop him. The rounds were too close. I just had to bring that dog out that my coaches were talking about. I always knew I had it in me. I come from a rough background. There’s nothing that can stop me. Ever.” Venado Crushes Abe in Round Eight 

Luis Alberto “Venado” Lopez (30-2, 17 KOs) successfully defended his IBF featherweight crown with an eighth-round TKO win over Japanese contender Reiya Abe (25-4-1, 10 KOs). Abe struggled with Lopez’s offense as the Mexican warrior launched forward with power shots from odd angles. A left hand from Lopez caused Abe’s right eye to swell. The ringside physician allowed him to continue, as Lopez continued to march forward. In the eighth round, inspired by the cheers from the crowd, Lopez initiated a flurry of quick strikes, which forced referee Mark Nelson to halt the action at :39. Lopez said, "I turned and looked at my family, my baby, my wife and my mom and dad, and that was the key to my motivation. I knew I had to finish the fight. "Abe was a warrior. He was able to continue with his eye shut. He continued fighting with a lot of heart. We know that Japanese fighters have a lot of heart. But I also have a lot of hunger to continue being a world champion, and I had to show that. “Like I have been saying, it would be great for me to unify. But I would also like to have a fight at 130 pounds. If they put me in against the winner of Oscar Valdez and Liam Wilson, that would be stupendous.”  Welterweight: Brian Norman Jr. (25-0, 19 KOs) and Janelson Bocachica (17-2-1, 11 KOs) fought to a no decision. Bocachica suffered a cut in the opening round. He landed a chopping counter right hand in the final seconds that dropped Norman, who himself was cut above his right eye in the second stanza. By round three, Bocachica’s cut prompted the referee to stop the fight at the end of the round.

Junior Welterweight: Hometown hero Bryce Mills (15-1, 5 KOs) defeated Gerffred Ngayot (6-2, 5 KOs) via six-round unanimous decision. An aggressive Mills fought at a high pace, which Ngayot had trouble keeping up with. Mills slowed down in the final two rounds, but landed more on a defensively-minded Ngayot. Scores: 58-57 and 60-54 2x. Middleweight: U.S. Olympian Troy Isley (12-0, 5 KOs) made a statement in his second fight with new trainer Brian 'BoMac' McIntyre. Isley delivered a seventh-round TKO over Marcos Hernandez (16-7-2, 3 KOs). Isley battled rhythmically throughout the fight, easily mixing in offense and defense, before landing a right hand that dropped Hernandez and forced referee Mark Nelson to stop the fight at 1:30. Bantamweight: Floyd Diaz (11-0, 3 KOs) tallied a unanimous points win against Puerto Rican veteran Edwin Rodriguez (12-8-2, 5 KOs). Diaz landed his counter right uppercut frequently on a game Rodriguez, whose spirited effort was subdued by Diaz's sharper counters. Scores: 78-74, 79-73 and 80-72. Junior Welterweight: Dominican Olympian Rohan Polanco (12-0, 7 KOs) handed Tarik Zaina (13-1-1, 8 KOs) his first loss tonight, battering him from post to post en route to an eight-round unanimous decision. Zaina was crafty on the outside, but Polanco overwhelmed him with constant pressure and counterpunching, dropping him and nearly finishing the job in the final round. Scores: 78-72 and 79-71 2x. Middleweight: Nico Ali Walsh (10-1, 5 KOs) defeated Charles Stanford (7-6, 4 KOs) via six-round unanimous decision. Scores: 59-55 and 60-54 2x. It marked the second straight win for the grandson of "The Greatest," who suffered his lone defeat last August. 

Heavyweight: Brandon Moore (14-0, 8 KOs) remained unbeaten with a hard-earned unanimous points verdict against Helaman Olguin (9-7-1, 4 KOs). Scores: 80-72 3x.

Ukraine’s national cheerleading team places first among teams at 2023 ICU European Cheerleading Championships

Ukraine’s national cheerleading took the first overall team place after winning six gold medals at the XI European Cheerleading Championship in Verona, Italy. The Ukrainian cheerleaders won the adult and junior freestyle and hip-hop duet competitions on the first day of the championship. On the final day of the competition, they won an additional two golden medals in the youth jazz and youth freestyle team tournaments.

15 students, out of 38 junior students and 14 senior students, not counting the Kennet girls. Even if we assume the senior students are doing their own work outside of the classroom, that's less than half the student population.

welp. Honestly not that surprising that those ones would b the ones to break rules about harming other students (I'm assuming that's what happened). Also, on a side note, not thrilled about that meaning that all the students advancing to senior next year will be guys. I looked through the student guide and it's slightly biased towards guys (6/14 female senior students, 17/40 female junior students), which is honestly better than I expected given the biases old practitioner families often have.

So Alexander’s got a full plate, for meeting obligations, keeping things in motion, fulfilling contracts.

This lets them be pretty isolated from these power plays, and adding to that their duty to Kennet may preclude them from trying to get heavily involved in practitioner society (more attention is bad for keeping the town unintruded on).

'Day 1'

Tonight, I met the man I am going to marry. 

And before you start worrying about ‘arranged’ marriages, let me assure you – this is not the case.

Allow me to set the scene:

Every year my father’s company, The Corporation, holds a Grand Ball. This year’s theme was ‘masquerade’, and my mother has had a team of assistants preparing for the better part of the last 6 months. She’s got me a white mask that covers half my face, with swan feathers that look like a crown, and a white dress to match. It looks like I am wearing some crazy feathered wedding dress.

I was dreading the ball, in truth, because my parents kept insisting that they wanted to introduce me to my father’s newest Junior Associate, Mr. James Paris.  Apparently, he the youngest Lawyer to graduate from Verona University in over 70 years. According to my parents this makes him the so called ‘perfect match’ for me. My mother doesn’t seem to have any issues with my father presenting their 19-year-old only daughter as a prize for a 25-year-old man, in exchange for loyalty to The Corporation.

I don’t want my life to be like my mothers, based entirely around a man. I love her, I love both my parents, but they have such an old-fashioned way of thinking, that a woman can’t amount to anything more than a trophy or a servant to a male counterpart. My life is worth more than the value put on it by a man. 

I spent the better part of the first hours of the ball dodging my parents and avoiding Paris, making excuses about being called over by a friend, or taking several unnecessary bathroom trips.

But then, I saw him.

He was across the room from me, his black mask only covering the upper half of his face. I think it was the smile, the one that could charm a room, that caught my eye. Because while it was breathtaking, it didn’t reach his eyes. 

I didn’t recognise him, nor any of the people he was laughing with, but somehow, I felt like I knew him. I can’t say how or why, but its true. 

And when he looked over at me, I saw that smile shift. Suddenly, it did reach his eyes, the blue in them lighting up and making his entire face all the more beautiful. I can’t say for sure, but I feel like the smile I gave back must’ve matched, and next thing I know, I am headed straight toward him, my mind a curious whirlwind.

I can’t even recall what I said to him, as he stood there surrounded by his friends, but I know that he took my hand and led me to the balcony outside, away from prying eyes and listening ears.  

We chatted for what felt like only minutes but was closer to an hour. With each passing moment, the walls guarding my heart crumbled, as his words flowed effortlessly. He told me about his ideas for his future, and I told him all the things I wished would happen in mine.

It was only after he told me that his mother wouldn’t approve of him being at the ball, that I realised we had yet to exchange names.

I told him this, and he smiled gently, another one of the smiles that didn’t reach his eyes. He asked me if it mattered, and I said that it didn’t, but that I would like to have something to call him, and to hear him say my name. 

When I said this, the smile returned to his eyes, and he told me his name:

Romeo.

As in, the son of my father’s biggest competitor, the founder of the M. Group, the biggest rival to The Corporation. 

The family my parents made me swore never to interact with. 

Romeo must’ve sensed the shift in me, the gears in my brain turning and trying to find a way to make him take it back, for him to still just be the beautiful boy in the black mask, who made me share things I’ve never dared to say aloud. 

He surprised me then, told me we knew that I was my father’s daughter, that he knew I was Juliet, but that he didn’t think any differently of me because of it. 

I think that was the moment I knew that this was it, that he was the person I saw beside me in all my possible futures. 

So, I did something that scared me, and I took his face in mine and kissed him. 

I admittedly freaked out after that, and I apologised profusely before leaving, rushing back into the ball. I ignored the calls of my parents, heading straight upstairs to the sanctuary of my room. 

And that brings us to now, as I sit here 2 hours later, lamenting over whether or not I should have kissed him, and trying to decide if running away way the right thing or not. 

I guess only time will tell.
