technically part of the ghost king wwx series of posts but could also just be stuff in general. a lot is for protecting the yiling burial mounds and the people who live there. idek how long this is going to be so keep that in mind!

Sending stone - A raw quartz or amethyst crystal attached to a talisman-tag that tells the stone to vibrate in specific lengths and frequencies causing audible tones that can be used in specialised patterns to convey messages across certain networks. Sending networks are differentiated by the colour of the thread/rope/tassel used in the tag’s binding. It's essentially a morse-code group chat, looks like this picture but instead of metal it's engraved on wood or bamboo.
Spirit Binding Wraps - Cloth strips/bandages that are intricately sewn with a long continuous array that wraps around anything with a golden core, ending in an array that anchors into the ground and doesn’t let go. It's styled after a large snake and will only release after being fed resentful/yin energy. Expensive and arduous to make, as both the cloth and threads need to be soaked in either liquid resentment or Spirit Sapping Liquor, both of which can only be found (or made) in the burial mounds, and the repeating array must be embroidered to the correct lengths before the ending anchor array can be attached. Bloodletting Buckets - Black bamboo buckets engraved with talismans that force any resentful energy in the contained liquid to coagulate into sludge at the bottom of the bucket, allowing residents to safely drink the burial mounds water without being a yin/yang cultivator.
Heart Binding Tattoo - A tattoo array over an individual’s heart that allows them to come and go through the barrier at the base of the mountain. Were someone to try and use a corpse with the tattoo to enter the mountain, the corpse would attack them. Made with Wen Qing, written in either Shizhoupian or Shuowen Jiezi, but I don't quite know witch.

Spirit Sapping Liquor - A derivative alcohol variant made in the burial mounds that eats spiritual/yang energy once consumed, travelling through the blood and clearing qi blockages within one’s meridians without touching the golden core (so long as one does not cultivate during the 3 day period that its active), and thus lessening chance of qi deviation. The resentment in the liquor can also be directed to eat poison from within a person by a talented Guidao practitioner (He Xuan, Hua Cheng, Wei Ying, Wen Qing, Wen Ning, even Qi Rong if he wanted).
Earthshifting Talismans - lets anyone stir up and loosen large areas of earth within a day, allowing less effort to be used when tilling or aerating soil, or digging cold storage basements. It's just kinda like putting a piece of land in the pear wiggler.
Hearth/Chill Box - a bamboo, wood, or stone box with engravings on the inside that keep it at a stable temperature, either hot or cold. Used to heat pre-made food, incubate eggs, build housing for chickens or other small animals, to heat water for bathing, to freeze meats, and make ice.

About the air element: The air element is linked to things such as divination, concentration, visualization, and prophecy. Backstory: A bard from the underdark, Turgi will probably never return home. She struggled with the rules down there - she couldn't comprehend the hierarchical structure of anything, struggling to understand why genders are different as well as bloodlines. Due to the circumstances of her birth, she had so much responsibility, and no desire to fulfill it. She's not hugely good or evil, but she was very unsettled by how poorly many were treated.
When the tadpole came, she was thrilled. At first, curious and scared. But ultimately, excited. Breaking out of that ship, meeting new friends along the way... She loved it. And. It was the first time she breathed surface air. She does miss her childhood friend though, one in particular, and wonders how they're doing. Maybe someday she will send word, when she feels more settled.
Goal: Turgi really just wants to make sure her friends are happy and take care of. And she wants to get by, make music, and thrive emotionally.

- For Turgi, love is just a kind of vibe. She spends her life in search of maximizing good vibes and minimizing bad ones. She doesn't believe in attachment, but she does have people she gravitates to and whose relationship she will cultivate even if it means some bad vibes along the way. She would die for them, and protects them out of admiration respect and an overwhelm of good vibes when thinking of them or when being around them, especially when they do things she admires.

She wears leg wraps that Sasli cut for her out of thick cotton, fastened with decorative pins she bought from an artist she had a crush on a few years ago. And a worn silk belt, double thick, that Mix gifted her once as an apology for getting her into a bit too much trouble. She wears a kerchief from Dag as well, and uses it to clean up messes sometimes.

The ankheg (pronounced: /ˈæŋkɛg/ ÆNK-eg about this audio file listen; also: anhkheg) was an insectoid creature that burrowed underground and hunted from below.
Ankhegs were covered in a strong chitin armor.
Ankhegs could see in pitch darkness, as well as detect vibrations in the earth, from up to 60 feet (18 meters) away. The "attack" acid was part of the digestive system for the creature, so it couldn't digest food for six hours after a discharge.
The ankheg was an ambush predator that waited around 5–10 feet underground for prey to wander into position. The attack was quick, as the prey was crushed and ground in its mandibles and assaulted with acidic digestive enzymes. If a foe proved too difficult, the ankheg could also squirt acid to take it down. If several ankhegs were attacking a group, the ankhegs would try to attack different targets. If prey was attacked by more then one ankheg, the ankhegs would just play tug-of-war with the unfortunate prey.
Lava ankheg A sub-species of ankheg that were adapted to burrowing through volcanic soil.
Ecology A typical area could have a lone ankheg, a pair, or a cluster of ankhegs.
Diet Gaining nutrients from the ground, the ankheg also had to hunt fresh meat to sustain itself. It could also eat decaying meat.
Life cycle Ankhegs mated in autumn, when the fertilized female would kill the male to lay 6–12 eggs inside him. Usually, a high number of eggs survived and hatched within two to ten days and started to feed.
An ankheg broodling did not hunt and remained hidden, while its mother brought it sustenance. After a year, the young were able to fend for themselves.
Around the second year, the young ankheg shed its chitin before winter. It takes a little less than ten days to complete the process and grow a new shell. During this time, the youngling was slower and more vulnerable. To defend itself, it secreted a fluid that smelled like rotten fruit. This defense could backfire, as some would seek out the smell.
Habitats Living in warm climates, the ankheg dwelt in partially collapsed burrows usually around 40 feet underground. The ankheg hunted in forests or grasslands where prey would wander into its traps. If an area became too barren, the ankheg moved on to other, more lucrative areas. Ankheg tunnels were sometimes filled with the remains of victims, eggs, or chitin. Their tunnels would sometimes be around 60​ to ​150 feet (18​ to ​46 meters) long and 5 feet (1.5 meters) feet high. Hollow tunnel ends were used for lair purposes, such as sleeping or hibernation.
Relationships They were known to compete with giant ants for territory. If they were killed or driven away from their nest, the broodlings left behind would be made to serve the giant ant colony.
Usages
Ankheg chitin Ankhegs could prove to be useful for a farmer. Provided it stayed alive, its tunnels could bring in water and its excrement contained enriching minerals. Ankheg burrows also aerated the nearby land which could improve crop yields by as much as 15%, providing the ankheg population was managed.
An ankheg shell harvested from a slain ankheg weighed roughly 100 pounds (45 kilograms). Armorers like Taerom Fuiruim in Beregost could forge a type of chitin armor from the shells, referred to as Ankheg plate mail. It took three days to make. The armor was very nearly as effective as full plate mail, but weighed considerably less and could be worn by warriors who usually couldn't wear such heavy armor. Taerom claimed to sell ankheg armor to rich nobles for 20,000 gold pieces. However, if one provided the shell, he would charge just 4000 gold pieces for a set of completed armor.
