My 13 year old and his two friends made this game in the last week for the Pixel Game Jam on Itch. I could not be more amazed at how far his skills as a coder and game designer have come in the last year. I was such a slug compared to him at his age. Heck, I might be a slug compared to him now, I mean, look at that punch list!
If you have an Itch account and want to really boost a 13 year-old’s mood, please play the game and give it a rating!
Basically the sole reason I can't participate in game jams is that like 90% of them have a firm "no posting bug fixes during the judging period" rule these days. Like, I understand why that rule exists – i.e., avoiding the drama which inevitably arises when making a ruling on what counts as a bug fix versus what counts as a substantive revision – but if I tried to abide by it I think I would actually, physically explode.
So. @mochaangel and I plus a few other people made a game! For GMTK2024! It was a really fun experience and I'm very proud of how it turned out. Please check it out (and follow the link at the top for the rating page. Rating the game means a lot).
I think I keep having dreams about @andy-jam-blog ‘s universe because I swear I’m having discussions about it but I properly look back at my week and realize I haven’t said a word about it to anyone in my house
Anyways what if there’s a jam named Sammy Jam who is green and has freckles and their whole bit is they are one of the people who send Andy on increasingly ridiculous fetch quests for objects they “misplaced” around Jam Island
