So I posted this blurb on the HoRita Facebook years ago & apparently I’m psychic
Blurb below cut because it is quite long.
Now to pre-face this, obviously quite a bit has changed in 2 years and therefore I highly doubt this is going to be what happens.  In fact, I’m sure that the only similarity is going to be a kiss on/around New Years. But I still wanted to share this with all of you because I thought it was funny.
December 31, 2015
If I had written Days, right about now I would have Will helping Chad deck out TBD for a New Years party and avoiding Paul like the plague and Paul being very infatuated with the person he's been seeing Will as again.  I.E. going out of his way to help Abby with the baby, helping Chad with TBD, helping Brady babysit Tate, and writing hard hitting exposes on Ben and Clyde Weston and the serial murders in Salem.
Seeing the guy he started to fall for in that hotel room almost a year ago, makes his heart start beating faster and whenever they bump into each other his face flushes and his tongue ties itself in knots.  He doesn't know what to do.  He's never been this nervous around someone before. Not to mention the conflicting impressions Will has given him this year alone is enough to give him whiplash. So he keeps his head down and watches, trying to figure out what he's going to do, if anything.
Then, at TBD, they bump into each other and Paul's had just enough champagne to make him brave enough to try again.  One last time.  He goes over to Will and when Will tries to avoid him by going around him, Paul steps purposefully into his path. He apologizes and fully acknowledges all of his wrong doings.  Admits Will was right about a lot things, and asks if maybe they can start over.  For real this time.
Will is reluctant but decides that with Sonny casually talking about a long-term separation on the one phone call he finally got for Christmas, that holding grudges won't do him any favors with Sonny.  Especially when his husband already has one foot out the door. Finally, he agrees, admits his own faults and sincerely apologizes which Paul accepts.
They spend the rest of the night talking and chatting like they used to and Paul can't seem to help himself. He smiles, leans in towards Will as they're talking, and flirts with him like he used to.  Will is obviously flustered but smiles back and doesn't back away when Paul invades his space, he doesn't actively flirt back but he doesn't seem angry that Paul is.  Paul counts this as a win and orders them both more champagne.
After a while, Will relaxes and starts joking with Paul, and Chad who sees them and swings by to see what's going on.  The three of them laugh and joke around for a while but Will feels Chad's speculative gaze on him the whole time.  He starts to withdraw but then Chad abruptly stands smiles like a fool at both of them and says he has to go run the bar and that he'll be really busy but they should keep talking. Will's face gets hot and Paul grins wider but neither stop him as he goes to leave.
When the countdown starts Will glances over to a corner of the club, eyes going distant with remembered bliss. Inexplicably annoyed, Paul stands and pulls Will up to his feet and into his arms.  As the count grounds down and the New Year dawns, Paul slants his mouth over Will's and kisses him.
Fireworks go off outside and the sound is strangely muffled. All around them is cheering and laughter but it sounds so far away. Will's eyes are closed and after a moment, Paul's eyes slide shut also. He releases his grip on Will's upper arms and slides his hands back to rest on his upper and lower back, pulling Will closer against him.
A soft sigh rushes through Will and his warm breath fans Paul's face as his lips part and allow Paul's tongue to sweep inside. It's too hot.   Paul feels heat rush over him and it makes his head swim so his hands fist in Will's shirt for balance even as Will's hands come up to grab desperately at his shoulders.  Their mouths mould together and Paul can hear himself making urgent sounds in the back of his throat.  He drinks in Will's responding low groan and roughly slides his hands down to push Will's hips against his own.  Someone stumbles past them, laughing, and Will jerks away with a gasp.
Paul's eyes open and he blinks away spots, breathless with want and unsure of where he is for a moment. He watches the way Will's body heaves as he pants for breath though Paul was sure now that their kiss had only been a moment... it felt like forever but it had only been a moment. Dazed, Will stared at him, tongue coming out to wet his lips in a way that jerked Paul forward a step. That was all it took before Will was tearing out of the club. Emotions in a riot, Paul finally raises his gaze from the floor and meets the smirking face of Chad DiMera from across the room. Slowly, Chad inclines his head towards the door.
Paul goes.
-
Now, for this version of events I would want Will to have written in his journal about how he was starting to have feelings for Paul starting before they slept together and continuing to talk about them until his last journal entry.  About how he needed to get him out of Salem because he didn’t trust himself.
I would then want Paul to find this journal and realize his feelings from that time were returned and that’s why Will feels so drawn to him.  He’s remembering those feelings.  He died loving Sonny but being in love with Paul (though heavily in denial) and I would want Paul to realize this and begin to fully mend the bridges between them.
I would want the NY’s kiss to be the two of them getting caught up talking and ending up close together and for them both to do the intense staring thing and then just kind of end up making out pressed against a wall or a door. It would then be amazing if John walks in or knocks or something and ends up finding them and Will runs off.  Leaving John to give the “follow your heart” talk to Paul.
-
But... yeah.... I’m not writing the show though so we’ll see how this plays out.
I definitely don’t think HoRita is necessarily anywhere close to getting together and I’m HAPPY with that.  I want it to be a slow burn. The slower the burn the longer the fire will last.  If they were just a fling then they’d get together fast.  I want them to last so I want the writers to take their time getting them together.
What are your thoughts?

It will cost the network plenty ( like 60 mil not counting the rerun revenue). Reruns were yanked by CMT, Paramount and TV Land. She was also dropped by her talent agency ICM partners. She blamed Ambien but the company issued a statement explaining that racism is not a side effect of Ambien.  I feel bad for the rest of the cast and crew but bye bye Roseanne!

New York Yankees 2018 season preview: World Collection hopes and a rookie supervisor
By the workforce’s personal admission, the 2017 season was anticipated to be a transition 12 months for the New York Yankees. They do not just like the phrase “rebuild” in New York, so everybody from possession to the entrance workplace to the sphere employees referred to as it a “transition.” The Yankees traded veterans (Carlos Beltran, Andrew Miller, Aroldis Chapman, Ivan Nova) for prospects on the 2016 commerce deadline, and the aim in 2017 was to inject youth into the roster, even when it meant taking a step again within the standings.
As an alternative, the Yankees have been the most effective groups in baseball final season thanks largely to these younger gamers. Aaron Decide set a brand new rookie file with 52 dwelling runs — and, sure, a brand new rookie file with 208 strikeouts — en path to being named AL Rookie of the Yr unanimously, and runner-up for the AL MVP. Decide led all gamers within the FanGraphs model of WAR. Rookies and veterans, pitchers and place gamers.
Decide was the star of the present, understandably, however he was hardly alone. Luis Severino broke out as an ace and completed third within the AL Cy Younger voting. Gary Sanchez missed almost a month with a biceps damage and nonetheless led all catchers in dwelling runs and each the FanGraphs and Baseball Reference variations of WAR. Chad Inexperienced emerged as a dominant setup reliever, hanging out 103 batters in 69 innings. Jordan Montgomery supplied stability in the back of the rotation. He led all rookie pitchers within the FanGraphs model of WAR.
The Yankees exceeded all expectations final season and wound up one win away from the World Collection. They beat the Minnesota Twins within the AL Wild Card Sport, got here again from an Zero-2 deficit to beat the Cleveland Indians within the ALDS, then misplaced the ALCS in seven video games to the Houston Astros. A disappointing finish to an in any other case thrilling season for a Yankees workforce that, frankly, was mired in mediocrity with an getting old roster from 2013-16.
Now, going into 2018, the Yankees are not a enjoyable underdog story. They are not going to sneak up anybody this 12 months. They’re again to being the Evil Empire. A bona fide World Collection contender arrange for the current and future in addition to any workforce within the sport. New York has a wonderful younger core on the large league stage, one the most effective farm techniques in baseball, a wise and opportunistic entrance workplace, a brand new supervisor, and naturally gobs of cash. Let’s preview the upcoming season for the Bronx Bombers.
The vitals
Possible lineup
The Yankees led baseball in dwelling runs and have been second in runs scored final season, then they went out an added 59-homer man Giancarlo Stanton, the reigning NL MVP. Cashman additionally swapped out Chase Headley and Starlin Castro for Brandon Drury and Neil Walker. This stuff are at all times fluid, however right here is the beginning lineup new supervisor Aaron Boone figures to run on the market on Opening Day:
LF Brett Gardner
RF Aaron Decide
DH Giancarlo Stanton
C Gary Sanchez
SS Didi Gregorius
CF Aaron Hicks
1B Greg Chicken
2B Neil Walker
3B Brandon Drury
Bench: C Austin Romine, IF Ronald Torreyes, OF Jacoby Ellsbury, UTIL Tyler Wade
Ellsbury is at the moment working his approach again from an indirect damage and the Yankees have stated he will not be prepared in time for Opening Day. If that’s the case, it clears the best way for younger Billy McKinney to make the Opening Day roster because the reserve outfielder. Additionally, it’s attainable Wade begins at second base with Walker serving as extra of an excellent utility man who will get common at-bats whereas shifting round between first, second, and third bases. The Yankees have indicated which may be the case.
Defensively, Stanton has been figuring out in left subject this spring — he is by no means performed the place on the large league stage — whereas Decide has solely carried out so on the backfields throughout minor league video games. Boone has stated he desires to maintain one man in proper subject full-time and have the opposite transfer round. Based mostly on their spring defensive assignments to this point, it seems Decide will stick in proper whereas Stanton strikes between proper and left, as crucial. (Each will see time at DH as properly.) Appears easy sufficient on paper, and it is easy to see it working in spring coaching, however we’ll see what occurs as soon as the common season begins. It would take some time for Stanton to settle in whereas shifting round a lot.
Becoming each Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Decide into the outfield will take some creativity. USATSI
Boone has stated his “ideally suited” lineup would come with a left-handed hitter sandwiched between the right-handed Decide and Stanton, although he will not power something. Give the Yankees a reality serum and I am guessing they’d inform you they need Chicken to have a breakout 12 months and declare the No. Three spot within the lineup between Decide and Stanton. Me? I say hit Decide and Stanton second and third (or vice versa) and ensure they each bat within the first inning. Squeezing a lefty between them is getting a little bit too cute. Let the large guys eat.
Possible rotation
The Yankees spent many of the offseason on the lookout for one other beginning pitcher, and never only a depth arm. They wished an affect starter. The Yankees have been planning to make a serious run at Shohei Ohtani earlier than Ohtani shut them out, and as soon as that occurred, they shifted focus to commerce candidates like Michael Fulmer and Gerrit Cole, and free agent Yu Darvish.
Finally, the Yankees got here up empty. They re-signed stalwart CC Sabathia to a one-year contract and that was it. Right here is the introduced Opening Day rotation order:
RHP Luis Severino
RHP Masahiro Tanaka
LHP CC Sabathia
RHP Sonny Grey
LHP Jordan Montgomery
There was no fifth starter competitors in spring coaching or something like that. Barring damage, these have been at all times going to be the 5 starters the Yankees have been going to make use of to start 2017. New York’s rotation was fifth in ERA and sixth within the FanGraphs model of WAR in 2017, and now they’re going to have a full season of Grey, who came to visit finally 12 months’s commerce deadline.
Possible bullpen
Bullpens are notoriously risky, however on paper, you are not going to discover a higher bullpen than the Yankees’ bullpen going into the 2018 season. Try the reduction crew Boone can have at his disposal:
Nearer: LHP Aroldis Chapman Setup: RHP Chad Inexperienced, RHP David Robertson Center: RHP Dellin Betances, RHP Tommy Kahnle, LHP Chasen Shreve, RHP Adam Warren
When Betances, a four-time All-Star, is perhaps the fifth finest reliever in your bullpen, you are in a fantastic form. Chapman will shut and Inexperienced will reprise his multi-inning fireman function — Inexperienced recorded no less than 4 outs in 29 of his 39 reduction appearances in 2017 — in any other case Boone intends to mix-and-match together with his relievers fairly than assign them set innings. I think you may see Robertson in a “second of reality” function, just like Miller with the Indians. He’ll be on the mound in no matter Boone deems the most important second of the sport.
Two sluggers with a nickname to be named later
Sooner or later somebody will give you a superb nickname for Decide and Stanton. You’ll be able to’t power a nickname. It has to occur organically and it will occur in some unspecified time in the future. To date, a couple of month into spring coaching, it hasn’t.
Anyway, in Decide, the Yankees had a towering right-handed hitter with huge energy and sneaky good proper subject protection. Then they went out and bought the Nationwide League model of Decide in Stanton. The similarities are outstanding.
Solely as soon as in historical past has one workforce had two gamers hit 50 dwelling runs in a season — the 1961 Yankees had Roger Maris (61) and Mickey Mantle (54). Solely 30 groups in historical past have had two gamers hit 40 dwelling runs within the season. It most just lately occurred in 2015, when the Los Angeles Angels (Mike Trout, Albert Pujols), Colorado Rockies (Nolan Arenado, Carlos Gonzalez), and Toronto Blue Jays (Josh Donaldson, Jose Bautista) all managed to do it.
Decide and Stanton hit 52 and 59 dwelling runs in 2017, respectively, and each gamers are nonetheless of their 20s. Decide is 25 and Stanton turned 28 in November. They’re of their primes and so they have the pure energy potential to hit 50 homers once more in 2018. Now, hitting 50-plus homers could be very troublesome, however these two can do it. If you happen to needed to choose one participant to hit 50 dwelling runs this summer time, would not you choose Decide or Stanton? In fact you’ll.
It’s solely attainable each Decide and Stanton will dip down into the 40-something dwelling run vary this season, which might clearly be glorious, but when that occurs they’re going to be requested questions on why their numbers are down. They set the bar extraordinarily excessive final season. They’re flawed hitters, little question. Decide and Stanton will each strike out, and Stanton’s stroll fee is merely good fairly than nice relative to different high sluggers. These flaws will get uncovered at instances. It is inevitable.
Can they do it once more? Certain. Do it as soon as and you are able to do it once more. However, if even each Decide and Stanton take a step again, they’ll nonetheless be superb gamers, and the centerpieces of a strong and deep lineup. It has been some time since one workforce had two prime-aged gamers with this a lot energy potential. Even with their flaws, Decide and Stanton might be a nightmare for opposing pitchers. And in the event you get by them, you continue to should cope with Sanchez.
The brand new supervisor
The Yankees employed rookie supervisor Aaron Boone to exchange Joe Girardi in December. USATSI
For sure, hiring an inexperienced supervisor to run a World Collection contender is a dangerous transfer, although it’s an more and more common transfer lately. Six groups modified managers over the winter and just one, the Detroit Tigers with Ron Gardenhire, employed a skipper with prior managerial expertise. That’s the new development in baseball. Inexperienced managers.
Boone is a real zero expertise supervisor. He went from taking part in to broadcasting to managing. No teaching expertise, no entrance workplace expertise, no managerial expertise. The one different workforce to rent a real zero expertise supervisor during the last six years is the St. Louis Cardinals with Mike Matheny. All different rookie skippers hiring since 2011 had some teaching or entrance workplace expertise. Boone, like Matheny, has none.
The function of the supervisor has advanced. When the Yankees launched Boone at his press convention, he emphasised communication and relationships together with his gamers, not technique. That is as a result of the entrance workplace could be very concerned in these strategic selections. Batting orders, bullpen utilization, all that’s mentioned forward of time. GM Brian Cashman likened the organizational construction to a NASA mission throughout a latest tv look. NJ.com’s Joe Giglio has a transcript:
“I liken it to NASA and an area shuttle,” Cashman stated. “We’re constructing an area shuttle. In our case, it will be lower than a $197M house shuttle this 12 months. On the finish of the day, we’re constructing a house shuttle. We have a mission. We’d like an astronaut with specialised expertise to fly that house shuttle and take us the place we wish to go. Anticipating–like anything in life–things aren’t going to go the best way its deliberate.
“You are going to keep in contact with mission management all the best way. And we’ll present you gamers alongside the way–ones it’s possible you’ll not even know a lot about as a result of they’re going to be taking part in in Scranton or they’re taking part in in Trenton or acquired in trades or from scouting suggestions. We’re going to should inform you why the man is right here to assist shut the hole on it.”
“However the astronauts specialty is to plug-and-play, in-game selections,” Cashman stated. “So we’re making an attempt to rent individuals with the expertise to do these issues. However we’re not turning the keys over. The astronaut is not the entire house program. I believe the business has acknowledged that so many issues go into this to placing a workforce on the subject.
“The supervisor is a large piece of the puzzle, however one piece of the puzzle. The supervisor is not the entire house program. I believe that is the distinction now.”
My hunch is Boone’s in-game technique won’t be wildly totally different from Girardi’s. A lot of that stuff is set in collaboration with the entrance workplace. The distinction might be behind the scenes, with the best way Boone (and his employees) pertains to his gamers and disseminates info from the entrance workplace.
Do not get me incorrect, Boone can nonetheless screw issues up on the sphere together with his in-game selections, even with the entrance workplace concerned. Every week in the past he forgot to heat a reliever up for his scheduled inning throughout a spring coaching recreation, for instance. There are going to be rookie errors alongside the best way. They’re inevitable. The Yankees have a younger and impressionable roster. They’re banking on every thing Boone brings to the desk within the clubhouse greater than making up for any on-field goof ups. It is dangerous, certain, however by all accounts Boone is vivid and well-respected, and he is a pure with the media, which matches a great distance in New York.
Is that this the 12 months Greg Chicken stays wholesome?
The Yankees love Greg Chicken. Love love love him. Internally, they ranked Chicken as their high prospect a number of years in the past even when Decide and Stanton have been each within the farm system. Chicken has a powerful postseason displaying final 12 months, hitting .244/.426/.512 with three dwelling runs, one in every of which was fairly darn essential …
… however the truth of the matter is the child has performed solely 94 large league video games since his August 2015 debut. He is handled numerous accidents the final two seasons, and so they have been main accidents, not bumps and bruises. Chicken missed the complete 2016 season with shoulder surgical procedure and he missed near 4 months with ankle surgical procedure in 2017. That is not good. He has potential, however potential does not imply a lot in the event you’re not on the sphere.
The Yankees will once more go into the season with Chicken slated to be their on a regular basis first baseman and, if he stays wholesome, he is the kind of left-handed loft hitter who can pepper the Yankee Stadium brief porch. Think about his profession charges:
Chicken profession
MLB common
Pull fee
44.eight %
39.eight %
Floor ball fee
28.four %
44.2 %
Onerous contact fee
40.6 %
31.eight %
Hitting the ball onerous within the air to proper subject is Chicken’s factor, and that bodes properly at Yankee Stadium. He is hit 20 dwelling runs in 94 large league video games, together with 13 homers in 59 video games at Yankee Stadium, and that’s under no circumstances a fluke. When wholesome, Chicken can do actual harm, and he’d be a wonderful complementary participant behind Decide, Stanton, and Sanchez. The Yankees simply should hope he stays on the sphere for a full season for the primary time in his profession.
Much more prospects are on the best way
Inside the previous 12 months the Yankees have graduated or traded away a number of high prospects. Inexperienced, Decide, Montgomery, Wade, and Clint Frazier all exhausted their rookie eligibility in 2017 and are not thought of prospects. Additionally, in accordance with MLB.com, the Yankees traded away the No. 72 (Jorge Mateo for Grey) and No. 99 (Blake Rutherford for Kahnle and Robertson) prospects in baseball finally 12 months’s deadline. Additionally they traded their 2015 first spherical choose (James Kaprielian for Grey) and one other fringe high 100 prospect (Dustin Fowler for Grey) on the deadline.
Between trades and graduations, that’s an terrible lot of expertise leaving the farm system. And but, the Yankees nonetheless boast what the scouting group considers one of many high farm techniques within the recreation. Try their spots on the varied farm system rankings this spring:
Nonetheless a high tier farm system, led by infielder Gleyber Torres, who’s on the very brief record of the most effective prospects in baseball. Torres wanted Tommy John surgical procedure on his non-throwing elbow final June following an ungainly slide into dwelling plate, and the one-year deal for Walker permits the Yankees to ship Torres to Triple-A so he can shake off the rust and get again up to the mark earlier than taking up the second base job long-term.
Third baseman Miguel Andujar was penciled in because the starter on the scorching nook earlier than the Drury commerce, so Andujar will head to Triple-A this season to work on his protection as he waits for an MLB opening. Righty Likelihood Adams and particularly lefty Justus Sheffield are among the many high pitching prospects within the recreation and each determine to make their MLB debuts in 2018. The Yankees have carried out a wonderful within the draft and worldwide free company lately, in addition to in trades, and their participant improvement system is far improved. They’ve tons extra expertise on the best way, remarkably.
Will they get below the luxurious tax threshold?
Surely. Proprietor Hal Steinbrenner has stated for years he desires the Yankees to get below the luxurious tax threshold to reset the workforce’s tax fee, which is at the moment the utmost 50 %. They have been initially planning to get below the edge in 2014, however as soon as the Yankees missed the postseason in 2013, that went out the window and so they spent large on free brokers.
This season the Yankees are in nice place to get below the $197 million threshold. Even after signing Walker to a $four million deal final week, the Yankees nonetheless have about $15 million in respiration room below the edge. They’ve sufficient put aside for the inevitable in-season call-ups — each call-up provides to the ultimate luxurious tax payroll quantity — and even make some commerce deadline additions. The Yankees have been speaking about getting below the luxurious tax threshold for years and this would be the 12 months they do it. Little doubt about it.
The plan to get below the luxurious tax threshold is, after all, made attainable by the workforce’s younger gamers. Decide, Sanchez, and Severino are offering large manufacturing at salaries close to the MLB minimal. Inexperienced, Montgomery, and Chicken belong on this group as properly. That is three beginning place gamers, two beginning pitchers, and one setup reliever making not more than $630,000 apiece. With out that low-cost manufacturing, the luxurious tax plan could be inconceivable.
The Yankees are poised for a giant commerce deadline
Between their monetary wiggle room below the luxurious tax threshold and their cache of prospects, the Yankees are poised to be a serious participant on the commerce deadline. They’ve the prospects to amass just about anybody — even when the Yankees make Torres, Sheffield, and touted outfielder Estevan Florial untouchable, they nonetheless have sufficient items to place collectively a blockbuster — and since luxurious tax “hits” are pro-rated for in-season additions, that $15 million below the edge might go a great distance at midseason.
What is going to the Yankees want on the deadline? Nicely, who is aware of. Pitching is an apparent reply, each workforce at all times desires extra pitching, and likelihood is wants will emerge in the course of the season, both by means of damage or poor efficiency. The Yankees determine to be in place to pursue long-term additions (Fulmer? Chris Archer?) or high-priced leases (Cole Hamels?) on the deadline. We’ve to see how the standings and the market shakes out, and which groups are prepared to promote. Level is, the Yankees are superb proper now and so they’ll have the wherewithal to get higher and handle any roster wants in July.

Guitarist Chad Gilbert talks about switching things up on New Found Glory’s ninth album Makes Me Sick, writing 100 percent on instinct, what coming out of Florida was like in the ‘90s, and why the band has no plans of going away anytime soon.
This interview has been edited for length and clarity.
How’s the anniversary tour going?
It is going awesome. Very easy. It’s really cool.
How is it playing full albums but mixing them up, so you’re not playing them in sequence?
It keeps kids on their toes. You show up to a show and you know what songs you’re going to hear, but you don’t know when. So you can’t take a pee break. You can’t go too far or you might miss your favorite song.
I think it’s the better way to go. It makes it so if you like one album better than the other, you don’t have to wait through one to hear the one you like more. They’re mixed together, and it makes the set ramp up and ramp down at different times.
Is there a favorite deep cut you’ve enjoyed playing on this run that maybe you’ve barely played in the past or have never played at all?
I love playing a song called “Your Biggest Mistake” off Catalyst. That song we’ve never played in the set normally and on this tour it’s going awesome. When we play that song, kids go crazy. I was really surprised about that.
So the new record sounds very different than your last one, Resurrection, did. It’s a lot more pop-influenced and less hardcore. The production and instrumentation is a lot fuller. How did you figure out what you wanted to do this time and make that progression?
Without trying to sound too cliché, our music is true to who we are and what we’re going through. In making Resurrection, we were a little bit more pissed off. We wanted to be really raw and aggressive. Touring on that album for two years, seeing our fans love it the way they did and sing along to it, the growth New Found Glory has made has been so cool coming into this new era of our band.
When we went to make this record, we were more self-reflective with this “nothing is going to stop us” headspace. It led for lyrics that are a little bit deeper and music that was not afraid to step out of the box. We went into Makes Me Sick with a lot of confidence. That’s what made us able to grow musically and not be afraid like we used to in trying new things.
I interviewed Aaron Sprinkle last month and he had some very kind words to say about you guys. How did working with him show up on this record?
Having Sprinkle there gave us more room to imagine. When I would write a melody in my head, if I were normally to record it, it would take me an hour to find the right sound to match the keyboard. Where with Sprinkle, I could be like, “Hey Aaron, I wrote this part in my head.” I could sing it to him and be like, “I like the Bananarama vibe on ‘Cruel Summer,’ or this vibe on that song,” and he would know exactly what instrument it was, find the sound, play it, and we could track it within 10 minutes. Maybe even five.
He was able to take our ideas or stuff we wrote and help us find the sounds that were in our heads. You can be a songwriter but it doesn’t necessarily mean you can find the sound. That’s a whole different style of production, and he’s really, really good at that. He’s a great song guy, too, but for us he was about producing this record’s sounds and bringing all of our ideas to life. He was awesome and so fun to work with.
He said when he works with a band that’s been around as long as you have, it’s not that he disregards an artist’s past history, but he tries not to take it too much into consideration. He tries to be in the present and not overthink things. For someone like you, who has a couple hundred songs out at this point, is it a challenge to not overthink too much or be worried that a song sounds like something you’ve done in the past? How do you balance all that?
I don’t think we do at this point. What we remind ourselves is when New Found Glory started, our genre didn’t really exist. There was Blink and West Coast punk that was big, but that was a different style. Us and Saves the Day at around the same time were blending more emotional lyrics with punk/hardcore-influenced stuff. When we started writing songs, it just came out. We didn’t overthink it. Is this punk? Is this not? Is this whatever?
Looking back to Stick and Stones, we had songs on there like “Sonny,” which totally doesn’t fit the genre. Even “Head on Collision” and “The Story So Far,” we had a lot of songs that weren’t so much punk rock songs, they were New Found Glory songs. Looking back throughout our career, we always did that, so we never think about it. We write what feels real.
We never try to fit anything, and we also don’t try to recreate. We don’t go in and go, “Oh man, how do we write a New Found Glory song?” As long as we’re being honest in writing songs that are true and real about what we’re actually feeling, then it always comes out exactly how it’s supposed to.
It’s more on instinct for you, then?
100 percent instinct. It’s never like we got to write a fast song or what if our fans think this. It’s not like that. I don’t mean it in a cocky way, but we feel that our fans trust us. Especially if you look at our catalogue, Coming Home sounds nothing like Sticks and Stones, and Sticks and Stones sounds nothing like Resurrection. But they sing all the songs the same. They love them each differently for their own reasons, and that’s what our fans count on us for. They don’t want to have the same album over and over again.
One of the cool left turns you do on this album is “The Sound of Two Voices.” I don’t know how you describe it. Hawaiian or something like that?
The little sounds and percussion stuff that Aaron added gives it an island vibe. But overall, it was our take on a Paul Simon throwback. When we started writing, it just came out. We were like, “Oh, this reminds me of ‘You Can Call Me Al,’ but somehow still sounding like New Found Glory.”
It almost sounds like it could be in Moana, too.
I love Moana, so I’ll take it.
Were there other highlight songs that you enjoyed working on and writing?
Yeah, I really love the song “Barbed Wire.” I really love the song “Blurred Vision.” The last song on the record, “The Cheapest Thrill,” is a fun one. We made 10 songs because I feel like every song has its own life, its own sort of ride. They all have their own pacing and something in the melody that makes it really different from the song before it.
You also have the most synths on a record since Coming Home, in addition to a lot of layered guitars and some solos. Was that fun to incorporate more of as well?
Yeah, definitely. Looking at older records we’ve put out, and hearing the production and then playing them live, we noticed there’s a difference. Our fans love our songs live, even though it might be missing some of the bells and whistles because we’re still a four-piece. They don’t care. So we were like on this new record, let’s make it an album.
We know there’s two different forms of listening to New Found Glory. There’s when you’re at home, you’re in your car, you’re on your headphones, so we were like let’s make this record sound the best it could be right then and there while you’re listening and not sacrifice anything. If we have an idea, let’s put it in there. Let’s make it really fun to listen to.
And then when people come see us live, they’re busy going off and singing along. No one really comes and listens for the third guitar layer, you know what I mean? You’re there at the show to go crazy and sing along.
You’ve mentioned before there’s a level of vulnerability this album has where you’re not afraid to talk about yourselves like maybe you have been in the past. What about this album do you feel like brought that out more?
I think maturity. Being a little bit older and seeing worries we might have had in the past or mistakes people have made throughout our career. Seeing us come out of them and being able to reflect. After living and touring in a van for 20 years, you learn a lot and you make a lot of mistakes.
Do you think getting married last year had any impact on the record for you?
I wouldn’t say it had an impact on the record because there’s three other band members, you know what I mean? If it did, it’s in the same way that Cyrus having a kid impacted the record, and Ian being sober impacted the record, and Jordan starting a business. All of us individually and where we are in our lives impact our records. I wouldn’t say one impacts more.
So I wouldn’t say so much getting married. It’s who we are now, each of us individually, and realizing the things in our lives that have kept our band going. With this band and writing music, we’re very lucky. Personal lives can be very difficult and very hard. We’re able to use this band as a way to express ourselves and impact other people’s lives, as well as it being therapeutic for our own. That’s what you get with the new record.
I was able to attend Yellowcard’s final show last month and it got me thinking about what pop-punk’s legacy is at this stage. You were two of the biggest bands in pop-punk’s heyday in the early 2000s, but now it’s more of a niche market and we’re at the point where we seem to be losing a prominent band every year. Where do you think the genre is in 2017?
I really don’t think about it, honestly. We were before the genre existed, we’re a part of the genre now, and we’ll still be a part of the genre when it’s not cool, if it ever was cool. I don’t think it ever was cool [laughs].
When we first started, it was always us, Get Up Kids and Saves the Day. No one ever said pop-punk. It wasn’t a thing. It grew and became a thing. Instead of trying to control what our fans think, we wanted to have fun with it, so we played along. This is a 20 years of pop-punk tour. We have no problem with calling ourselves a pop-punk band, because that’s what our fans call us. We’re not overthinking it.
A New Found Glory fan knows we’re not just a pop-punk band. You can see that by going to our shows. There’s people that listen to hardcore. There’s people that listen to metal. There’s people that listen to indie rock, to emo, to pop-punk, to regular punk rock. We have this huge melting pot.
As far as the scene goes right now, I really don’t know. I’ve always felt like we waved the flag of the genre, but whoever breaks up or gets back together or starts, New Found Glory is going to keep going. We’re going to keep doing the same thing. We’ve never been driven by a scene. We built our own world inside of it. So I can’t really say what the scene’s like because there’s so many different styles now.
And the internet has opened things up so much more than when you were starting out. Now there’s so many options everywhere, it’s more diluted in a way, too.
Yeah. We’ll just always do our thing. We’ll always tour. I remember when we had three gold consecutive albums, and then we didn’t. We were playing smaller shows, but it still meant the world to us. Things always go in circles and come around. Now our shows are bigger than they’ve been in a long time.
Big or small, if you’re a New Found Glory fan, you’re going to get the same amount of passion one way or the other. I think that’s why we’ve lasted this long and why we don’t break up. We’ve given up our self-serving pride a long time ago with this band. We’re here to play regardless. We don’t get affected by what anyone says or what’s cool and hip at the time.
You see a lot in 20 years. You see a lot. There’s so many bands that have come that were big and we might have been told to open for, and now five years later they’ll open for us. It’s just the way it goes. We’ll always be the same and we’ll always be here because we have that loyal fanbase, which is all we ever set out to have.
New Found Glory and Yellowcard also got me thinking about that five-year or so period where there were so many cool bands coming out of Florida. There were you two, Anberlin, Copeland, Underoath, Against Me!, A Day to Remember, Further Seems Forever, Dashboard Confessional. What do you remember about that time? What made Florida a hotbed where all these bands were coming up at the same time?
A lot of bands you were mentioning were later than we were. When we were coming up, there was New Found, Dashboard, Further Seems Forever, Less Than Jake, Hot Water Music, Yellowcard, Poison the Well. The other stuff was a little later. What I always loved about Florida is when you think about the bands from Florida, everyone sounds different from each other.
At the time if you weren’t from New York or L.A., and maybe a little bit in Chicago, you didn’t really have a chance. The Northeast and California is where every band came from. It’s where all the record labels were. Because those scenes were so big, there was a lot of the same things going on. Where when it came to Florida, none of us thought we would ever get anywhere.
There was nothing to do, so you would write songs not based on what was going on but based on who you were. There wasn’t a big scene in Florida, so if you were a punk band, you were playing with a hardcore band. If you were an acoustic guy, you were playing with a ska band. It didn’t matter. There was this weird mesh of things stylistically. Even the hardcore back then was really melodic and weird.
I think the fact that Florida is so secluded from everywhere, especially South Florida. It took 12 hours just to drive out. It let people be creative because you thought you never had a chance. You were just writing music for your friends. You were writing songs because you wanted to play that weekend at a club in your hometown.
You weren’t distracted by the business side of things, because there was none. Whereas maybe if you were a band in the Northeast or California, you were focused on writing and getting signed. But in Florida, it didn’t really matter.
With this being your ninth album and reaching year 20, is there a different feeling now, or does it more or less feel the same and how it always has been?
No, it’s a different feeling. When you’re younger and you’re growing, you feel like you have all this stuff to prove to people. You think there’s this thing you need to reach or this finish line. You’re constantly worried about what’s next.
Now, 20 years later, there is no stress. We’re not worried. We’ve done nine albums. We’re not worried if fans are going to like our band or not.
Or if the album sells.
Yeah, or if the album sells. It would be great if the album sells. It would be great if it’s the biggest record and sells a million records. That would be awesome, but we’re not living for that. We’re able to get onstage and play our songs and focus on what matters, and not about the illusion side of the music business.
We’re able to live in the present and enjoy every show and be thankful. Does that make sense? That’s the difference between then and now.

WilSon Scenes 9/13/12
*coffeehouse*
Adrienne: Is there anyone you are interested in?
Sonny: Yeah.
Adrienne: Really?
Sonny: Uh-huh.
Adrienne: Do I know him?
Sonny: You do, yeah. It's will.
Adrienne: Will? [Clears throat] Will Horton?
Sonny: That's not a good look. What's wrong?
Adrienne: I'm surprised.
Sonny: And you're not happy. I see it all over your face. What do you have against Will?
*******************
*Will chasing down T*
Tad: Leave it alone, man.
Will: Hey, hey. I'm just asking. Come on, come on. Come on.
Tad: It's too weird. I'm not talking about you and another dude and whether or not you guys are gonna date.
Will: I'm not--all I want to know is--you said that Sonny was interested in me, right? Is that what he said, though? Are those his words?
Tad: Yes, all right? That he's into you, but you're not into him.
********************
Sonny: All right, you've had enough time to think of a good answer, so...
Adrienne: Honey, I love you. I love you, and I support you in anything you do.
Sonny: Yeah, but what about will?
Adrienne: I adore will. He's a very sweet young man. He's smart. Oh, he's got a great heart.
Sonny: But?
Adrienne: [Sighs] But he comes with a lot of baggage, don't you think?
Sonny: What, you mean, like, the--the gay thing? I mean, we're--we're both--
Adrienne: I'm not talking about that, sweetheart.
Sonny: Then what kind of baggage are you talking about?
Adrienne: Lucas Horton and Sami Brady.
Sonny: Will's not his parents, so...
Adrienne: No, but he did help Sami and EJ become fugitives, didn't he? And he's lucky he wasn't arrested for that. And might I add--not the first time this year.
Sonny: What, you're talking about the murder charge? Mom, that was completely bogus. He had an alibi and everything.
Adrienne: Sonny, do you hear yourself? Is that the kind of thing you want to say about your boyfriend, really?
Sonny: Well, have you ever thought about what people could say about our families? Both sides, you know. Forget about the Johnsons. What about the Kiriakises? Uncle Vic lives in a guarded mansion.
Adrienne: He has a very respectable business now.
Sonny: Do you hear yourself?
Adrienne: Okay, okay. Our family brings its own brand of dysfunction to the table.
Sonny: See?
Adrienne: But--but that's exactly why I hoped you'd find something less complicated from the man you love. I can't help hoping that you would fall in love with a man who would make your life easier, honey... not harder.
************************
*Will still chasing down T*
Will: Hey, come on. Can you just wait a sec?
Tad: Okay, look, I told you what you wanted to hear.
Will: Can you hold it, please?
Tad: I'm not gonna sit around and journal about this with you.
Will: I'm not-- all I'm asking is--is, can you clarify a little bit? Because I thought--um, what about Brian, right? I thought--or even Sonny's mom thought that they were a couple.
Tad: I don't have time for this boy drama.
Will: Hey, hey, hey! Okay, you probably think this is sounding too gay, right?
Tad: If the sequins fit.
Will: [Laughs] I got two words for you-- Jordan Yost.
Tad: Come on, that was sixth grade.
Will: Okay, two more words for you--Natalie white.
Tad: All right, she was fine. Even you have to admit.
Will: I had to listen to you pine after her for hours, man. I failed seventh grade algebra because you made me sit in the back and watch Natalie and see if she was checking out the chalkboard or if she was checking out you or--
Tad: Hey, I didn't come up with the seating chart. If I was in direct line with her, I would not have asked you to do that.
Will: [Laughs] Okay. You remember those--those, um... those photos that you made me take for the yearbook? You know, the totally, um, non-posed, casual photos?
Tad: Man, this is cold. This is really cold.
Will: Well, payback is a bitch. So can you help me out? Please? I'll burn the photos, okay? Just--just tell me everything that Sonny said.
*******************
Adrienne: Sonny, I'm not attacking will. You know, he may not be ready for a relationship.
Sonny: Well, you couldn't know that.
Adrienne: I know, but you can know that Brian is not only handsome, he's dean's list, pre-med, and captain of his crew team--
Sonny: Did you get his, uh, height and weight as well?
Adrienne: Oh, well, that wasn't listed.
Sonny: So you googled him.
Adrienne: Please, like you didn't? [Giggles]
Sonny: Mom.
Adrienne: What?
Sonny: You have to stay out of my love life.
Adrienne: Oh, god. You're absolutely right. I'm so sorry. I'm late for meeting your dad.
Sonny: You know, I, uh-- I shouldn't give you this... but you don't have to worry about me and will. He's not interested in me.
Adrienne: Oh, honey. It's his loss.
**********************
Tad: I don't know much more.
Will: Okay. Sonny didn't tell you anything else?
Tad: Nope. I did hear that guy Brian hit on him once, though.
Will: Really?
Tad: Yeah, it was disgusting.
Will: Well, did he--I mean, did they, like--
Tad: Do not make me relive this.
Will: Okay, but was there any, like--
Tad: No, please, please. Come on. Sonny froze the guy out because he's still hung up on you.
Will: Okay, really? You pr--he said that? You promise?
Tad: Yeah.
Will: Okay. Wow. I-I thought I'd blown it with him.
Tad: All right, and I'm out of here.
Will: Wait. Okay. But--but... seriously, thank you.
Tad: Yeah. [Laughs]
*********************
*Will goes to see Sonny at coffeehouse*
Will: [Clears throat] Hey.
Sonny: Hey. How's it going?
Will: Uh, good. I mean, better now. Better now.
Sonny: That's good. I haven't really seen you around lately.
Will: Yeah, 'cause I've been avoiding you a little bit.
Sonny: Look, I'm really sorry about what happened. You know, I-I feel I crossed a line with all the--
Will: No, no. No. You didn't.
Sonny: No, I did. I did a little bit. I shouldn't--the kiss wasn't okay.
Will: That's not what I'm saying. You--you're right about how I reacted, right? But--but--
Sonny: Look, I think everyone has their process when it comes to accepting their identity. There--there is no right or wrong.
Will: No, no, I'm saying I-I couldn't accept it, so that was wrong. And I'm--I'm glad that you called me on it. But that's not--that--I'm sorry. That's not why I'm he--
Sonny: [Laughs]
Chad: Hey, Sonny, uh, will. Glad you guys are both here. Um, I have some big news.
Sonny: Great. What--what is it?
Chad: Popped the question, and Melanie said yes. I'm getting married. [Laughs]
******************
Will: So, um, wow. Have you set a date or...?
Chad: Um, no, not yet. The only thing that I do know is that EJ will be my best man. And I was kind of hoping that you guys would stand up for me too.
Will: Okay, sure.
Sonny: Yeah, I'd be honored. Are you sure that you want both of us, though?
Chad: Of course. Why--why wouldn't I?
Sonny: Well, will Melanie have anyone else besides Abigail and Gabi? Because one will be the maid of honor, and the only one will be the bridesmaid.
Chad: No, that definitely-- definitely won't happen.
Sonny: Uh--
Will: Why not? Melanie doesn't want a big wedding?
Chad: Yeah, you know, you're probably right. Listen, um... uh, we'll figure it out, okay? I got to get going. I'll see you guys later.
Will: Okay. He was in a hurry. [Chuckles]
Sonny: I don't even know what that was--what that was about.
*******************
Sonny: I don't know if it's, like, just me, but don't you feel that Chad and Melanie are kind of rushing this whole thing?
Will: Yeah, I know. I mean, they--I mean, I guess they've been together for a while, but definitely seems like a major escalation.
Sonny: Yeah, I've never heard them even talk about marriage before.
Will: No.
Sonny: Or, like, getting serious, for that matter.
Will: Yeah, me neither. That's crazy. Well, I guess maybe--maybe I'd miss it because I'm pretty dense at sensing people's... signals and things.
Sonny: W-what do you mean?
Will: Can I talk to you about something, if that's okay?
[Telephone rings]
Will: Uh, no.
Sonny: Okay.
Will: Get it, yeah.
Sonny: It might be the supplier I've been waiting for all day to call me.
Will: Yeah.
Sonny: So just one second. Hello, this is Sonny. Uh, yeah, hey, Brian. What's up?
*******************
Sonny: Yeah, you can--yeah. Just check the showtimes and let me know. Okay, bye. Ah, sorry. What were you saying?
Will: No, it's nothing. Was that Brian on the--
Sonny: Yeah. Yeah, we're gonna go to a movie later. It's like a bunch of us friends, and... it's not a date.
Will: Oh, okay. [Laughs]
Sonny: Why do you seem surprised?
Will: I'm not. You know, the funny thing was I thought that you guys were... together.
Sonny: No, no, we're not together.
Will: I know now. T told me.
Sonny: T? Now he's poking around in my love life?
Will: No. The opposite, actually. Um, I forced him. This is embarrassing. But I forced him. I had some middle-school blackmail material... um, some photos.
Sonny: I don't even want to know.
Will: Won't get into it. But basically, he told me that, you know, you and Brian aren't together.
Sonny: Did he--did he say anything else? Well, of course he didn't say anything else, 'cause I don't have a love life. [Clears throat]
Will: Yeah, so I've heard. You know, the funny thing is that you don't have a love life for the same reason that I don't have a love life.
Sonny: Yeah?
Will: Yeah. So I think we have more in common together than we thought.

WilSon Scenes 9/5/12
Gabi: You know what? I feel bad for Melanie.
Will: Oh, yeah, me too. But you know, I am pulling for Nick to get out. Although I do understand she's a little freaked over what happened with the stalker guy. I know he scared you too.
Gabi: Yeah, he did.
Will: The police said he's working with an accomplice, right? Did they ever get any more info on that?
Gabi: No. No, and, um, now that Andrew's dead, they said that the trail's cold. Yeah, I gotta get back to work.
Sami: [Clears throat] Hey.
Will: Hey. Ooh, how is it?
Sami: It's--it's all right. How about you? How are you?
Will: I'm great. What's this? What's all this?
Sami: Oh, you know, work. I am getting things back under control at Countess "W" now that I am done with all their stuff.
Will: With all the stuff, yeah.
Sami: Right. So it's good to get stuff back to normal.
Will: Well, as normal as they can get, I guess.
Sami: [Laughs] I am back in business, Will. It's gonna be great.
Gabi: Uh, I'll be right back to get your order.
Sami: Hey, um, Gabi. Look, I'm really sorry if Countess W's work been so slow that you had to find another job, but don't worry. 'Cause we're back on track now, and we're gonna be using you a lot at Countess "W".
Gabi: Oh, I'm--I'm sorry. Did--didn't you hear? I quit.
Sami: What? What are you talking about?
**********************
Gabi: Um... Chad and I, um, we decided that we wanted to do other things.
Sami: Chad's quit too? Why does anybody tell me this stuff?
Will: Well, I guess when you don't check on the office for a month or two, you might miss some things.
Sami: Look, I'm sorry, okay, about what's happened. But your campaign with Chad was fantastic. The numbers speak for themselves. So I really--I really am asking you to reconsider.
Gabi: Well--
Sami: And look, I understand if maybe you're afraid to go back to modeling because of what happened with the stalker.
Gabi: Yeah. Yeah, that's part of it.
Sami: Well, I can assure you that I will not happen again. I have the security team in place. You just have to come to me. We'll make sure. So think about it, okay?
Gabi: Okay, I will. Thank you. I'm gonna go get you a menu.
Sami: Will, talk to me. What is going on with her?
Will: Mm.
************************
Sonny: Hey, "T".
Tad: I'm on my way to a game.
Sonny: Yeah, I know. I was actually, uh-- I was hoping that I would run into you.
Tad: Why, so you can jump me again?
Sonny: No, I wanted to tell you that I'm sorry. I shouldn't have gone after you the way I did. And I was just kinda hoping that you'd accept my apology.
************************
Will: So...are you worried about Gabi, or are you worried about your bottom line?
Sami: [Sighs] Both. But of course I care about Gabi, and I can see that you're worried about her too.
Will: Well, she is a little freaked out from the whole, you know, stalker thing, you know. And who wouldn't be?
Sami: Yeah, of course. I wish there something I could do to help her.
Will: Why?
Sami: What do you mean why? She was employee. And she's your friend. And she's Rafe's sister. You know, I think she's really lucky to have you in her life as a friend, and-- hey, have you thanked Rafe for getting those charges against you dropped?
Will: No, but I will. Yeah, that's-- I owe him one from that.
Sami: Well, I am very glad that you and he are still friends. And I'm glad that you have Gabi. You know, she could really use your help. You could really help her get through everything that's going on right now with her.
Will: No, actually, I can't do that.
Sami: Why not?

Sonny: What do you--what do you want from me, "T"? You remember how this whole thing started? You came into my place, and you started wailing on me.
Tad: And what, are you afraid this is gonna happen again? Is that what this is?
Sonny: No, I'm trying to settle this between us.
Tad: What, man-to-man? [Chuckles] Good luck with that.
Sonny: Like two rational human beings.
Tad: [Drums fingers] How can we do that? I'm completely normal, and you're a total freak. And don't you ever lay your hands on me again, or else.
***********************
Sami: Will, what are you talking about? Why can't you be there for Gabi?
Will: Well, I just-- you know, given our history, I don't wanna give her the wrong idea.
Sami: I wouldn't worry about it. I'm sure she understands and still wants to be your friend, even though you're not interested in her. Did something happen? Did you two have a fight?
Will: Okay, can we drop? Can we--I'm sorry. Can we drop it?
**************************
Will: Uh, I'm sorry. I don't-- I don't wanna fight with you too.
Sami: What do you mean too?
Will: Oh, um, dad is still a little testy with me for, you know, helping you and EJ leave town, so--
Sami: I'm sorry. I didn't mean to put you in the middle of that.
Will: No, you didn't. You don't need to apologize.
Sami: Um, I could talk to him.
Will: No, I think that might make it worse.
Sami: Well, normally you'd be right. But in this instance, he should be look at it like you did him this huge favor, you know-- getting me out of his life.
Will: Yeah, I'm sorry that things have been so, you know, crappy. And I'm sorry that I've been so disrespectful and nasty to you-- for so long.
Sami: I deserved it.
Will: No, you didn't. You know, that night, um, of the explosion when I-- when I saw you hanging from the catwalk, I've never been so scared in my life. I'm just sorry that that's-- you know, that it took something like that to, um-- to make me realize how much that I do need you.
Sami: Well, thank you for saying that.
Will: And it's not--you know, I'm not saying things are perfect. And they probably won't be.
Sami: [Laughs]
Will: But you know, it's nice to be talking again.
Sami: It's more than nice.
Will: [Laughs] Whew.
****************************
Sonny: Do you treat every gay person you know this way?
Tad: You're the only one, or at least you were until you turned Will.
Sonny: Honestly, you really think Will hasn't been gay since the day he was born?
Tad: We used to cruise and look for chicks together, and rate them on a scale of 1 to 12.
Sonny: 12?
Tad: I've been best friends with this kid since we were kids. I would've known if he played for the other team.
Sonny: Well, I guess you're not as smart as you think you are.
Tad: No, you hit on him. You confused the hell out of him, just like you tried to do with me.
Sonny: Are you kidding me? I never hit on you, "T".
Tad: Hello. You tried to make me go to a baseball game with you.
Sonny: Yeah, because I had an extra ticket. I just thought I was doing you a favor. I'm not interested in you. I never was.
Tad: But you're interested in Will. I heard you telling your other friend all about it.
Sonny: Okay, yeah. I'm interested in Will. And I'd love to be more than friends with him. But, you know what? He doesn't feel the same way.
Tad: Why not? You're gay. He's gay. Sounds like a match made in hell to me.
Sonny: Are you serious? Huh, did you just on any girl that comes your way? Actually, don't answer that question.
Tad: Come on, I'm not like that.
Sonny: Yeah, well, neither am I. You know, I think it'd be cool if will felt the same way. But he doesn't. You know, maybe you've been there, "T". Sometimes it just doesn't work out.
[Door closes]
************************
Kate: Will. Hey, honey.
Will: Oh, hi.
Kate: I haven't seen you in days.
Will: Hi, I know.
Kate: Oh, my gosh. How are you?
Will: I'm great. Thank you. How are you?
Kate: Good.
Will: You know, that, uh, Stefano is alive?
Kate: Yes, I understand this too.
Will: Oh, but you haven't spoken to him.
Kate: Not a word. I don't even know where he is.
Will: Oh, I'm sorry.
Kate: No, it's okay. That's enough, enough about me. Actually, do you know there is this adorable intern at work that I wanna set you up with. His name is Scott. And he is hot. And he is smart. And he dimples to die for. I mean, unless you're already seeing someone.
Will: Um, well, I was. I mean, there was--no. There was somebody.
Kate: Was?
Will: Yeah. But he moved on, not that I blame him though. I think I kinda got some issues.
Kate: Are you kidding me? You are such a catch. This guy is an absolute fool if he doesn't see that.
**************************
Tad: I got a game to get to.
Sonny: There's just one more thing that you should know. Your friendship meant a lot to Will.
Tad: Are you gonna tell me that he's into me now?
Sonny: No, no, no. All right, I just know that he hated the way that things have fallen out. And I think maybe you should put some thought into why it got messed up in the first place. You know, just try to be just a little more accepting of how people wanna live their lives. And stop worrying so much what people think about you. All right, then maybe you'll understand that Will is still the same guy that he's always been. [Sighs]
