so yeah, season 4 had a lot of issues. and episode 1 especially had a lot of issues. but i really really like how they touched on (if only briefly) the topic of severely changed routines and the dread of finality, particularly from the perspective of an autistic person.

yeah, abed tv was... something. but the concept they had going with the sort of dissociation that abed experienced as a result of the stress and panic from realising things were going to be different, that was pretty good.

and the way the rest of the group doesn't get mad at him, and actually tries to help him is nice to see too.

sure, there was a big missed opportunity to make the episode really good. they had all the right ingredients but, well, fell a bit short. but it's still nice to see that kind of thing explored.
