to be honest, I actually like this scene so much. Sora and Nya are sleeping leaning on each other very adorably, Kai is exhausted and sleeping, crossing his arms, Lloyd is too bored but doesn't want to sleep so he's dragging his sword on the floor like a child, and Wyldfire and Arin is sleeping with same position and on the dragons. How cute. I mostly love the position between Nya and Sora.

Now waiting until next Dragons Rising episodes come out....

Kai except when/if he returns from the nether realm (which is probably soon if I’m being honest) he breaks down like a lil baby after he reads and listens to the voice notes and messages EVERYONE left for him. Full on sobbing as he listens to Wyldfire trying to find her place and move on whilst also feeling so insecure.

Five tissue boxes, gone after hearing Lloyd talk about how unsure and scared he rlly feels and how he honestly has no idea what he’s doing.

Rocking back and forth as he reads Cole’s texts about his life and how everything is going, as well as his insecurities and how down he feels sometimes with everything having changed.

He’s full on koala-hugging Zane as he listens to the detailed texts that have misspellings about everything he’s been bottling up and how much he just misses so many people.

WATERFALLS are what his eyes are as he listens to Nya’s strong but almost broken voice talk about how lost she feels and the pain she’s experiencing with Jay and him gone.

Big old baby eyes that are watery as he reads texts from Arin and Sora talking about their struggles and insecurities as well as updates on everything going on.

He sits late at night, texting Wu and Jay’s old numbers, sending voice notes to Skylor, Ray, and Maya, about his life and everything that he’s suffered through so far. He tells them stories, updates, and how much he misses all five of them. He sends Pixal’s number photos of them and Zane, giving her small notes of what’s going on.

Before all that though, the ninja all realise Kai is about to read and listen to everything they’ve sent him and they all collectively jump him and run like their lives depend on it with his phone. They refuse to have that loser find out how big of losers they were with him gone.

I feel like Kai needs his own focus season. He has season 7 but it had bad writing and animation also it was kinda shared between him and Nya.

I like what they’re doing with him in dragons rising. Wyldfire helping him reflect on his personality and their father-daughter relationship is cute. I kinda what to find out more about Wyldfire’s power and how it’s different from Kai’s.

Kai and Nya are finally having sibling moments. The writers trying to make up for Kai basically having no meaningful reaction to Nya becoming the sea.

I wrote this whole thing because I want Kai back.

OKAY SO. kai and bonzle r obviously trapped. gonna have some cute bonding moments with them and ALSO hopefully find out what was in kai's fear dream thingy????? whatever u call it. i assume the writers r planning to reveal it bc kai was looking absolutely SHOOK in the scene that followed like my man was not okay

ANYWAYS the ninja r obviously gonna focus on getting kai and bonzle back duh, but mainly nya (+ maybe wyldfire). i think at some point nya's gonna snap and go off on her own to find some answers and find out about the administration and look for clues there and WHO DOES SHE RUN INTO??????? take a wild guess

Oh god, it was such a tiny tidbit of a moment within the new season, but one of my absolute favorite things was when Kai was lecturing Wyldfire about patience. Him thinking about how much she reminds him of his younger, more hotheaded self. How he guided her through the forms that helped him cope when his sister was the ocean. How it was just so clearly shown that he was growing a soft spot for this little spitfire hellion right on screen as we were watching. It was just… so precious. Literally all I could think about for the rest of the episode….

Fritz and spitz has accidentally called both geo and/or cole dad at least once or twice

Sora likes to spend time with Nya by teaching each other about tech and how theyd mix their current knowledge with the stuff the other taught them (i imagine the same thing happening when pixal comes back)

Kai thought it'd be funny to show arin and Sora old pictures of lloyd when he was younger with the bowl haircut, now you're probably imagining both of them laughing but n o. Why? Cuz arin had a similar bowlcut before (this was before the merge) so he just kinda stayed silent while Sora was cry laughing

The thingies on the side of wyldfyres leg and knees are sheded scales from heatwave cuz she's not exactly lava proof

Arin is really cultured when it comes to memes and every time he references one to sora or wyldfyre their reaction is just like "what are you talking about?" But when he references them to the ninjas they go "YOU KNOW THAT MEME????"

Wyldfyre learned how to swear from kai

Fritz and spitz are masters of hide and seek! Whenever it's their turn to hide, they'll always taunt the seekers and you can never tell where they were hiding, not only that but they are really good at seeking too

Wyldfyre HATES the cold, AC rooms are a no no. Why? Cuz 1, she's not used to it. 2, it makes her feel like she's nowhere near her family/home. Which brings me to another headcannon

Wyldfyre loves hugs, they're warm and well it's nice, she associates warmth with the feeling of home or something like that, idk i thought it was sweet

Is it just me or does "evil" Arin remind anyone else a little bit of Kai? Like a younger Kai.

Something about how they both struggled with getting stronger (Arin with spinjutsu and Kai with getting his full potential etc.) and how they both started their journey looking for a missing loved one(s)(maybe even include when Nya turned into the sea), and their dislike for Wu.

(I know Kai apologized to Wu but I think he'd still understand where Arin's coming from).

Idk its not quite parallel but maybe something close, but I guess I think itd be kinda sweet to see Kai seeing a bit of himself in Arin? not in the same way he sees himself in Wyldfire but he sees like maybe his insecurity in Arin? The desire to get stronger, to prove himself, to find his family etc.

Since for most of the season(and i could totally be wrong about this) its kinda felt like Lloyd and everyone have been like "You'll get it you just have to keep trying". But he has been trying and he's still not getting it, in a way Kai could probably relate, from when he was the last to reach his full potential and trying to become the green ninja? and then giving up on that to be Lloyd's big bro?

Maybe not becoming a big brother to Arin or even a mentor but like an ear who'll listen but also understand in a way Lloyd and maybe even Sora hasn't been able to?

Things that will never happen but I desperately need in Dragons Rising

Warring cults both worship Lloyd

One is serpentine who worship 9 year old Lloyd specifically

The other is a mixed group that has blurry photos (think like big foot photos) of golden Oni Lloyd no one knows how they got them Lloyd definitely recognizes one from when he fought the overlord but the rest are faked but they get him so invested that he’s half convinced his dragon side and oni side spilt and there’s this Oni version of him roaming the country side

Harumi discovered to still be alive and actively instigating these cults because she figured it would summon one the ninja eventually (brother and sister bond NOT shipping her and Lloyd)

Arin and Sora finding out about the golden master prophecy right before this

They don’t connect the dots that Lloyd is golden Oni and think he’s just oddly invested in it out of concern for the followers of 9 year old him

When Lloyd goes full oni Sora goes “oh now I see the family resemblance”

Wyldfire freaking out about Lloyd being part dragon and he never told her!!!! She’s very offended

Kai mentioning how he forgets that Lloyd isn’t human and is ridiculously overpowered

Jays memories take a while to come back but they kidnap him and make him be a ninja with them and he thinks he has Stockholm syndrome for Nya when really it’s his memories slowly resurfacing

I want to see the realm of the departed and how that works with the merge. I mean we know the land of the lost prevents the lost from leaving but will the land of the departed stop the living from coming before their time or will they just never be able to leave

Kai and Nya freaking out about Lloyd’s oni form. Like considering Lloyd didn’t consider that his heritage was important he probably decided not to tell the guys he was able to reach it so Kai and Nya hovering and being helicopter parents

Wyldfire asking Nya about what it was like merging with the sea (idk why but it feels it should be Wyldfire specifically)

Jay overhearing about when Nya turned into the sea and having a strange pang in his chest and next time they are seen together he’s hovering

Sora and Lloyd make a deal where every week Lloyd tells her one thing she might not have realized they may need to know

It takes a while for Sora and Arin to connect the oni Lloyd cult and Lloyd’s golden form like at least one episode later where they are just talking about how it keeps bugging them and then they both realize and run to Lloyd shouting and demanding answers
