Hiya! Welcome to Mortis!

My name is Briar, I use She/They but any/all is also chill, and I run this blog and made its characters. When/if I officially produce anything know that I am not the only person working on this project, I’m just the creative lead and the only one with a social media account.

What is Incarnates of Mortis?

IoM is a story focusing on a group of magical girl esque figures who protect the land of the dead from souls that have been corrupted. These figures are dubbed Incarnates by the public and believed to have been born from Mortis itself. Our protagonist, an Angel girl known as Merry Tolli, leads a faction of the incarnates who believe it is better to reason with corrupted souls and heal their suffering. She is rivaled by an Incarnate who has dubbed herself The Crypt Keeper of the River Styx, who leads a faction of Incarnates who believe the simpler solution is to fight the sinners in order to destroy the source of their suffering through force.

Who are the main characters?

Merry Tolli- An Angel with a heart of gold who is unwavering in her compassion. She earned her status as an incarnate by saving the life of a drowning boy as a child. She goes by the alias Odette the Swan when fighting as an Incarnate

Nalu Ikaika- A loyal and fun-loving Nymph who is childhood friends with Merry. She earned her incarnate status by saving a girl from a fire that burnt down her family cafe. She goes by the alias Lily Loch while interacting with other Incarnates.

Felix Chatmao- A chill and down to earth cat therianthrope who is friends with Merry. He earned his status as an Incarnate by saving the life of a lost child in the forest. He goes by the alias Acteon of Felis while an incarnate.

Styx- Styx, or Crypt Keeper of the River Styx by her full title, is the leader of a rival group of incarnates. She is cold and analytical. Her true identity is unknown. She seems to be blind, but seems to be able to predict attacks.

Plague Mascarade- A gunslinging and mouthy incarnate who seems to be a siren. He insists his reasoning for allying with Styx is just so he can shoot stuff, but it’s unclear if he’s telling the truth. He often leaves battles before their finished in a rush without explaining.

There are more, but I don’t want to spoil the fun ;))

3) Please don’t whitewash my characters. Please don’t make my bigger characters skinny.

I’ve been pretty desperate to shift lately. I think I’ve forgotten they’re other realities. They’re real. They have problems. Just like this one.

MHA ~

School work. Oh my God. The work load is insane. Especially with all the training they have you do. You don’t have a lot of free time on school days. But, You find the time.

My (Adoptive) Father, Aizawa, Can be TERRIFYING when he’s angry. Trust. Dont get him Mad.

Dealing with my Nightmare quirk. A drawback for it is terrible nightmares every night. And in some cases my quirk can activate and put them into the real world. One of two ways to get rid of it would be realizing it’s an actual nightmare. Which is hard even for me. (More detailed than that, if you want more details about my quirks, lemme know!)

My Backstory and Connection to AFO/The League. Enough said. ☠️

Work Studies and Internships. I do both of them with Mirko, And she’s fucken fast. She does not stop. When we’re sparing, she leaves SO MANY BRUISES. Girls gotta take it down a notch. 😭🙏

Villains are fucken terrifying. Like, These are people who are aiming to hurt you.

Seeing my Family or Friends get hurt. Like the USJ. Seeing my Father like that is…Painful.

headcanons below for those that like that kinda thing 🔽

-rick is mixed, his mom was jewish and his dad was mexican, and they raised him catholic. they both sucked in different ways :/ (she was an alcoholic, he was emotionally absent, etc)

-he's a trans man!! he and diane were t4t, and he was the one who carried beth. he developed super advanced hrt for the two of them early into their relationship, but he didn't give himself top surgery until after he realised that diane was truly gone in every universe

-he is technically only 55 years old, but his experiments with time (and the damage of repeated trauma) have caused him to be closer to 75 mentally, physically, and emotionally.

-he has audhd, cptsd, and bpd (don't mind me projecting...) morty is his current fp, and he's constantly splitting on him. some of his past fps include his original beth, diane, birdperson, unity, and mr nimbus.

-he has chronic pain from his cybernetic implants. he could improve the tech if he wanted to, but he prefers to punish himself or numb himself with drugs and alcohol.

-he has big beautiful brown eyes like a baby cow 💖
