Poochyena Bite Pokemon
Type: Dark
Emerald Pokedex Entry:
It savagely threatens foes with bared fangs. It chases after fleeing targets tenaciously. It turns tail and runs, however, if the foe strikes back.
Wanted to post Pokemon and Character associations I have that may or may not be part of the Main AU and also get some drawing in. This is one sketch ive finished

mori and dazai are such an interesting relationship and it sucks that any analysis of them is bogged down by talks of experimentation and/or pedophilia

You know how I know Fyodor is worse than Dazai, even while he was in the Port Mafia.
Because Fyodor would have killed Ango that night.
Maybe he would've calculated correctly that Ango would become more valuable alive than dead.
But Fyodor doesn't trust what he can't control and if it was him Ango betrayed, it shows he can't control him.
Because Fyodor wouldn't have simply sown seeds of distrust in Chuuya and the Sheep, but make Chuuya dependant on him.
It's literally what he tells Dazai to do so the waitress falls in love with her.
Fyodor would never look at Chuuya Nakahara and see a human, it's why he was so easily fooled into thinking he was anything but.
Because Fyodor would never have cared about Atsushi as anything other than the guide to the book.
Because Fyodor would never be able to comprehend befriending Oda.
Maybe in his hay day as a famous underground child assassin. But Oda "lowest on the totem pole of the Port Mafia and doesn't kill anymore" Sakunosuke?
Wouldn't give him the time of day.
Because Fyodor wouldn't see anything to gain from it.
And that's what makes Dazai different, because Dazai for all his faults and flaws is undeniably human.
He let Ango go. Did he sew seeds of distrust in the Sheep, yeah but he also told them to trust Chuuya and threw him a party. He finds him undeniably human.
He sees Atsushi as human too, has never seen him as simply his ability. He's his mentee, his friend and subordinate.
And Dazai would never, ever say that befriending Odasaku wasn't worth everything. That it didn't give him something so precious and valuable.
Dazai isn't perfect, but there's a reason it was always the Demon Prodigy. And never the Demon itself.

OKAY BUT LISTEN. LISTEN. I WANNA BREAK DOWN SOME OF THE PANELS FROM THIS SCENE CAUSE UH. This is like a powerpoint of the audience realizing the Sheep are not Chuuya's friends.
Tumblr media
First off, baby? Baby. Also Chuuya's body language in the art is so, like, embarassed/self-conscious teen, except instead of the problem being hanging out with the wrong people in high school its...Mafia-level stakes. Anyway, Chuuya curling up while hiding from his "friends" immediately gives you a sense he is not the one in control.
Tumblr media
Dazai-like expression who? Chuuya is putting on a mask so eerily similar...it gives us some great parallels.
Tumblr media
Chuuya unnecessarily apologizing to Shirase? Yeah. Straight from the book.
Tumblr media
Insane over Shirase's solid B+ gaslighting. I don't remember if these lines are from the book, but Shirase implying Chuuya's the one "acting like a tyrant" when he literally didn't do anything?? Except ask politely for favors? Throughout the whole conversation he's been the polar opposite. But hey, maybe Shirase's just projecting.
Tumblr media
Haha, "somehow".
Tumblr media
Nothing to add here except Shirase's body language in this is SO much better than the anime. In the anime he just acted mad and kinda hot-headed. Here he's smiling, acting friendly, giving off those "ofc I'm on your side Chuuya but you make it so hard for these made-up reasons" vibes. Shirase is opportunistic, manipulative, he believes he has control over Chuuya, and therefore his ability.
Tumblr media
Of course, Dazai can tell immediately what Shirase is doing. That Shirase has more power over Chuuya than Chuuya does over any of the Sheep (which is once again reinforced by the body language. Shirase's arm over Chuuya's shoulders, swamping him. Being physically taller than Chuuya. Chuuya just kind of standing there, passively.
Tumblr media
Also despite what Shirase seems to believe, he and the other Sheep are not one bit smarter than Chuuya. They're eagerly celebrating their victory when Chuuya can clearly tell this is some sort of plan on Dazai's part.
Tumblr media
Dazai destroying any leverage they had over Chuuya and yet knowing there's some reason Chuuya is doing this anyway. Offering him a choice.
As I've said before (and it's more obvious than ever in the manga) Shirase's using it to gain Mafia territory by getting some of their members captured. I've stated this before, and we do get a confirmation:
Tumblr media
The "self defense rule" is something Chuuya explicitly created. To not strike unless provoked. I have a lot of thoughts on this and why but that's not for this post.
Tumblr media
And we have!! Dazai getting pissed off on Chuuya's behalf!! He's scary.
Tumblr media
(Spoiler alert: they are not his friends.)
Tumblr media
Ahhhh
Tumblr media
Ahhhhhhhh
Guys I love this chapter. Because on one hand, Shirase, like the rest of the Sheep, have very legitimate fears. They're literally a bunch of kids that used to be preyed on by other organizations, and if Chuuya is not guaranteed to protect them, then...well...they're in horrible danger, really.
The problem is that Chuuya is ready to protect them. But they don't trust him, and it seems they never have. The whole thing is built on Shirase (and probably the others) holding some kind of emotional and social power over Chuuya, therefore guaranteeing their safety. But when that's not longer the case, well, they don't trust Chuuya to protect them. I'm curious how the manga is going to adapt Dazai's whole "meat" story later on because the issue isn't a selfish conflict of interest. The issue is trust, and the lack of it between Chuuya and the rest of the Sheep.
It's like the Sheep built their gang on high school clique rules, and didn't realize Chuuya's not just operating out of a sense of obligation and need to belong, but genuine care. Anyway, that's all I have to say. The art is beautiful.

"Gentleman, you say?"
15! Chuuya x reader
Reader is implied to be fem!, could still be gn!
Warnings: swearing, alcohol
Contents: your mafioso roomate being annoying, fifteen era, mafia! reader, pre-relationship, idiots in love, teen romance, fluff, ooc? chuuya (idk)
Sorry for grammar! Not proofread!
Tumblr media
Working in the Port Mafia wasn't so hard.
You were granted a new family, money and status. There were a select few members who were noteably young, as young as teenagers. This was mainly because of the gifted, limiting manpower into making criminal organizations choose children as their subordinates.
You didn't really mind it--being a kid in the mafia. It had it's ups and downs, yes, you did murder; but what would you have been really doing if you tried to live as a civilian as a gifted?
One thing you didn't like though--even hated, was the Port Mafia dormitory.
Constant parties, the overwhelming scent of alcohol and cigarettes in hallways, and don't start on the drama. Your only source of peace was the empty unit next to yours--at least that gave some sort of silence in the dreadful nights of Yokohama. Cramped in the tight apartment that secretly held mafioso teenagers, ones which the other residents thought of as school delinquents.
Until that asshole took it; the short ginger boy with a permanent scowl on his face, the boy who had the best style you had ever seen. And you hated it. Ever since you were fifteen, he and his smelly bandaged friend would storm into his apartment; have the loudest arguments--no, fights in the middle of the night.
Before, if you couldn't sleep, a nice cup of hot milk and basking in the night's breeze would do the trick. Now, there was a 50/50 chance he was there smoking on the balcony next to you, alone or with that annoying mummy boy.
It's been a few months since then, and you were sure that he hasn't even recognized you once as his neighbour; and it pissed you off, considering the amount of sleepless nights he caused you. It was safe to say you had one-sided-beef with the boy who used screaming as his fight or flight response.
And because finding someone absolutely insufferable meant asking numerous people about them, you asked a few of your subordinates who were into drama about said boy, eager to learn more information about him. Because he pissed you off, is why.
"Oh, you mean Chuuya? He like, used to be the King of the Sheep before he joined the mafia, I'm pretty sure." Your friend chided, you and a few other girls were standing in front the doorframe of Kouyou's office, all surrounded in a circle. "Really? That's wild." You scoffed, folding your arms over your chest. "Yeah, and the guy who recruited him is that emo guy; he's supposed to be Bosses successor, right?" She asks, twirling a strand of her hair. "His name is Dazai, and yeah. They're called 'Double Black' or something." Your other friend joined in.
Just as you were talking, a tall woman with ginger hair and pale skin stepped out of her office; her elegent hands clasped together under her pink kimono.
"What are you girls talking about?" The woman questioned, her hair tightly held up by long gold pins. "[Y/N] was just asking about Chuuya, sis." Your friend replied, you scoffed in response. "I was just asking because he's an annoying neighbour!" The other girls laughed. "Oh, Chuuya, I was recently requested to take him under my wing." Kouyou responded, revealing more information. "Actually? What do you think of him?" One of the quieter girls asked enthusiastically, the woman only chuckled in response.
"He's quite the gentleman, I'll say."
Kouyou's words only echoed in your ears as you lay in bed, a pillow ontop of your chest. "Gentleman.." You repeat, staring mindlessly at the ceiling. "Gentleman my ass!" You kick the wall next to your bed to no avail, tightly wrapping your arms around the pillow. "If he was, he would've seen how tired my eyes are from not sleeping.. and finally shut the fuck up.." You mutter with heavy eyelids. It was around 2 am. And it was one of those quiet nights, thankfully; but you still had trouble falling asleep.
As you were about to finally drift off to sleep, cradling your pillow in your arms; a loud strum of a guitar sprung you awake. It sounded like a electric guitar, and the person playing it had a shit ton of energy. A sultry voice sang melodically as loud waves of music crashed from his guitar. You had an idea of who it was.
Storming out of your cramped apartment, only in a thin t-shirt along with loose shorts, you scrammed over to Chuuya's apartment door angerly. "I swear to God.." You curse under your breath, the damn guitar still audible. Closing your fist, you firmly knock on the boy's door.
Knock, knock
The fast-paced strum of a rock song quickly stopped, light footsteps could be heard behind the steel shaft, before he finally unlocks it.
"Yeah?" The boy cracks the door open, he had his short ginger hair down; and he wasn't wearing the black fedora and choker like he usually did. A red and white electric base guitar slung lightly over his shoulder and stomach, the cord connected to the bottom, leading to what you assumed was his bedroom. Chuuya was wearing loose black sweatpants along with an oversized white t-shirt. Even though the boy was small and lean, you couldn't help but notice the exposed muscles on his forearms. 'Shit.' You cursed at yourself, before meeting his stormy blue eyes once more.
"You're so damn loud all the time, can't you play that at another time of day?" You huffed, crossing your arms. "There are people trying to sleep." It wasn't the safest option to yell at a criminal who had possible connections you had no idea of, but you were also a criminal, and would definitely kick his ass if he tried anything, right?
Chuuya looked at you with a slight frown, but you were right in the end, so he sighed and ran his lithe fingers through his ginger locks. "My bad." He mutters, feeling a bit embarrassed. "That's all you can say?" You murmur, you felt a little bad, but he was the waking cause of your terrible eyebags. "You could be a little more quiet next time." You add on, looking off to the side.
"Yeah, I know. My fault." The redhead said, apologizing begrudgingly. You only sighed and assured it's okay now before you soon left. Knowingly storming off into your apartment as the boy watched you with guilt yet irritation on his face.
Although the next morning, you rubbed your eyes and opened the door to take out the trash. Only noticing a small box infront of your doorstep with a yellow sticky note on it, you crouched down to properly read it.
'Sorry we had to meet that way, neigbour. Take this as a peace offering.
- Chuuya N.'
As you opened the box curiously, it was homemade packaged bento, along with a small corgi made out of rice on the side. The stupidity of it made you laugh a little. Even though his handwriting made you question if he knew how to write at all before this; a smile still crept on your face as you took the box and note inside.
"Quite the gentleman, huh?"

As much as I dislike characters getting revived after tragic/dramatic deaths, I'm so so happy that Adam got revived in Stormbringer, and Chuuya got to see that he got revived.
Chuuya's lost so much during his life. The sheep, the only people he called family. The flags, the only friends that considered him a kid and an equal. His humanity, slipped away at the hands of N. His free will, almost taken by Verlaine.
And Adam, despite being one of the least normal people he's associated with, somehow is the one whose relationship with Chuuya felt most normal and humanizing. But he gets taken away from him, too, and isn't that unsurprising? Chuuya is numb to it at this point: the grief, the longing for people he can never see again.
That's why Chuuya just... laughs at Adam in the end. It wasn't about the android joke, never was. It's that finally, one person he cares about is back, is here, with him. One person he hasn't forever lost without saying goodbye.
It's immensely relieving, and you know what? I wouldn't have been surprised if Chuuya's laughs slowly turned into sobs, the moment all of this dawned on him...

Once when Chuuya was still in the sheep, he and Shirase got into a huge argument over Shirase being reckless with shop lifting which started to escalate into a fight. Out of rage, Chuuya punched the brick wall of the alley they were in and the brick crumbled like sand under his abilty, which he hadn't even realized he was using.
Chuuya went numb and gave up on the argument, all he could see was blood on his hands thinking "What if that was a person? A friend?"
Since then, any time he feels a strong emotion like rage or depression he immediately distances himself from everyone, wether that be a sky scraper or a random cave in the middle of the woods, he's terrified of hurting people so he treats himself like a wild uncontrollable beast.
Dazai's the only one ever to get through to him, finding him easily, even sensing when he's in one of his 'moods' and silently sitting beside him.
Sometimes Dazai fills the space by saying a bunch of nonsense to make Chuuya laugh, other times Chuuya breaks down and they train, Dazai being the only one he knows how much strength he'll end up using; and the silent times they just sit on the roof, overlooking the city, inching closer and closer until they end up cradled in eachother's arms, blaming it on the 'cold winds'

I promise I took my meds, hear me out: this
Tumblr media
Can give us insight into this
Tumblr media
So: before we get into what it means, I'm going to tell you why these things are related. 15 is probably the best text we have when it comes to dissecting their relationship, and in 15, dazai says 2 things that relate to both raging romantic tension and also dogs.
Tumblr media
This, as well as an arguably more loaded section:
Tumblr media
This. Now bear with me, I really did take my meds, this second excerpt is almost a one to one copy of the dog treats panel. For those of you who have read 15, you'll know that this scene is the set up for chuuya being forced into the mafia. They duel, the "treats" (the sheep) appear, and then they disappear, and only when dazai walks away do both the dog and chuuya realize theyve been ensnared in a weirdly elaborate trap for someone who's supposed to not want anything to do with them.
Not only that, but it establishes that not only does he call chuuya his dog, but "his dog" is part of his future plans, and part of the reason he even has future plans.
Part of the reason that dazai wants to live at that point is to spend time with chuuya.
Now: with that we get back into the dog treat "duel".
First, I'll let you read it and draw your own links, as long as you promise to leave them in the notes
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
As a bsd reader, you'll probably know that dazai's plans often revolve around knowing what the other party will do. This is easily reflected in the dog encounter, because dogs don't know anything, and thus their behavior cannot be influenced to an unpredictable point. If you offer a dog a treat, you can count on that dog eating the treat. The problem is that dazai can't connect that motive to the dog's actions, because he specializes in dealings with egotistical people who rank highly in organizations who have massive flaws they overlook. Take him outside of his comfort zone, and he struggles to tilt things in his favor.
This analysis overlooks one teensy massive character trait that shapes the character: Dazai is the type to step on a rake, hit himself in the balls, and stick the landing so well that everyone thinks it was on purpose.
You can only tell what's "the plan" versus what is just improv by how hard he tries to sell that he's in control.
With this new lens, seeing how hard dazai tries to assert "the difference in [his status]" with the dog almost entirely colors the interaction as some sopping wet loser loses at his own game that he started against a small animal.
And now: how does this effect the skk reunion and how does it reflect on their previous relationship?
Well, I'm going to pull out some "oh holy shit... I mean, I meant to do that!" Moments
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This man is going back and forth like it's his job. He doesn't know what to expect because chuuya is far beyond his comfort zone. Hes everything that should make him predictable, and yet he never is. Every time he's taken aback by his target not reacting the way he "should" he pulls another trick out from his sleeve. Even literally, in the lock picking case. Whenever he needs to try to assert that he totally planned this, he goes for another trick.
As with the dog, when dazai walks away, the only thing chuuya was left with was a distinct sense of "this guy needs friends." They're both low stakes interactions that are born from dazai not expecting something and not knowing how to regain control of the situation.
This implies that dazai just doesn't know how to deal with a straightforward person and thus can never predict what chuuya will do, because he runs on an unswayable internal logic that makes him as difficult to manipulate as a human can possibly be.
As a partnership, they're constantly confusing the fuck out of each other, because dazai is weird and eats dog treats, and because chuuya cannot be understood with the logic dazai excels in.
They know each other but they can never hope to understand each other.

Wan Kindergarten!Chuuya
Bungo Stray Dogs Chuuya Nakahara & Gender Neutral Reader + Osamu Dazai X Reader
Beginning Note: Initially, I wanted to include all the scenarios that were thought of, but I decided to make them separate. So, there will be a continuation of this. @kiwibeanv helped a lot with the scenarios, especially the future ones I’ll do.
Word Count: 2191
(Fluff/Little Crack)
Background:
At some point, you had decided you wanted to take care of a human child, but you didn’t have a significant other and you didn’t really want to go through all the trouble of the process in making it.
So, you went to an adoption center and looked around at all the children there. All different ages, appearances, personalities, etc.
One child caught your eye, a ginger haired boy with big, blue eyes. He was so adorable, and he didn’t seem to be troublesome.
You did all the paperwork and whatever else needed to be done and now had an adopted son whose name was Chuuya.
Initially, he didn’t want anything to do with you, just locking himself up in his room that you’d prepared. He only left it for necessities, but sped back as soon as possible.
You didn’t have much hope in the beginning, but he eventually started to trust you. He would start eating at the dinner table, say good morning to you, sit in the living room for a while.
As more time passed, he was comfortable with you. Chuuya finally saw you as a parental figure, and you couldn’t be happier. All the waiting for him had paid off.
He was such a good kid. If he ever had to say hi to someone, he would greet them politely and introduce himself. He cleaned up after himself, he wasn’t always too loud, sometimes he would yell out, but he quickly calmed down.
Chuuya then reached the age of attending school, so before the year started, you took him shopping for clothes. The ones he had were a little worn and he could use a wardrobe change.
“How’s this one?” You held up a blue shirt with a sheep on it. He took a quick glance before shaking his head.
“I don’t like that one.”
You sighed and placed it back. Of all the options there were, he didn’t like any of them. You turned to him and asked, “Well, do you have an idea of what you’d like? We can look for it.”
Chuuya thought about it before looking up at you. “Something dark. I don’t like bright colors.” He looked at another shelf and pointed at it. “Like those!”
You looked where he pointed at and saw that the clothing were mainly black, gray, white, navy blue, and other dark neutral colors. You raised an eyebrow. “Those are church clothes.”
Chuuya pouted, “But those are the only good ones.” He turned back to you with puppy eyes. “Now you don’t want me to get what I like?”
You decided to check them out so you walked over to the shelves. “I suppose it can’t hurt. But don’t blame me if you don’t like them anymore.” You browsed through them all, asking him what he thought, and he finally made his decision.
When you two returned home, you told him to try it on to make sure it fit. He walked out of his room wearing the new clothes and showed you his outfit.
You were silent for a few seconds before muttering, “You look like a Christian. Like you’re going to the church summer camp.”
Hearing your words, his jaw fell a bit and his eyebrows furrowed. He looked offended at what you said. “I do not!” He screeched. He fell silent and looked down at himself, beginning to quietly mutter to no one in particular.
You let out an airy chuckle and crouched down to his level and pet his head. “I didn’t necessarily say it was terrible.” You didn’t actually know what to think. It was goofy, but you’re not going to hurt his feelings.
He felt a little better and smiled at you. “Can we go get some ice cream? I was good today, right?” He bounced on the balls of his feet.
You couldn’t resist him, so you agreed.
Kindergarten:
The first day of school finally arrived, so you ensured that Chuuya had anything needed and that he wasn’t going to misbehave. The two of you got to the building and you escorted him to the front.
“I trust that you won’t cause trouble while you’re here?” You crouched down.
He sighed, “I’ll be good, I promise.” He was quiet for a few seconds before hesitantly taking a step closer to you and slowly raised his arms. He was asking for a hug.
You smiled and embraced him, caressing his head before planting a kiss on his temple. “Good boy. If you behave today, we’ll have whatever you want for dinner.” You pulled away, but kept your hands on his shoulders. “Sound good?”
His eyes lit up. “Yeah! That’s good!” His smile grew and he quickly hugged you again before skipping to the door. Before entering, he turned and waved to you, then went inside. You returned the gesture and stood up to make your way home.
Once the day ended, you went to pick him up. He was waiting at the front, looking around before his eyes landed on you and lit up at the sight. He ran to you and hugged your legs.
He told you all about his day and that he made a few friends. But he didn’t like his teacher and didn’t really tell you exactly why.
As the year went on, he seemed to have fun. He did complain about a few things, but it didn’t sound too terrible. You had met some of the staff and thought they were lovely.
Dazai, who seemed to be the main teacher, had come up to you at some point to whine about being threatened with bombs. And any time parents and teachers met up, he just says to you that Chuuya wasn’t nice with him.
He just complained about anything and everything, no matter how minor the “offense” was.
At the news of the bomb threats, you didn’t know how to react. You just stood there, thinking why a nice kid like Chuuya would throw out some bomb threats, to his teacher especially.
“I’ll talk to him when we get home,” you told Dazai before leading Chuuya away. And talk to him you did. He wasn’t happy about the lecture.
In general, Chuuya’s a very good child except for when he’s around Dazai, for some reason. He tries to be all mature, but you know that he loves all the children stuff.
He loves Odasaku Man and always plays the episodes when he gets home from school. At this point, you know the whole script of the show.
Doesn’t matter what meal he’s having, he wants milk as his drink. “I want to grow taller!” (Throughout all the years, he didn’t grow as much as he wanted)
The books he reads, he wants to read all the adult books (You never let him), but for bedtime stories, he goes with the picture books and fun plots.
You’ve also seen the other kids in his class, and you’re a little hesitant on the ones he’s best friends with. They might not be the best influence for later in life, but you’ll let him choose his friends. You’ll just make sure he knows how to take care of himself, but he’s still your little baby boy.
One of them is also wearing a strange outfit. He looks like a pilgrim and you feel like him and Chuuya could relate with the odd clothing. He seems cute. [Talking about Akutagawa]
You’re not even sure if Dazai is the best teacher. He’s gone onto his knees and pleaded with you to join him in a double suicide, and you’re skeptical. How was he approved to be teaching the class?
(Bonus) Romance with Dazai:
Despite your doubt concerning Dazai, you’ve somehow gained feelings for him. You never really acted upon them, just letting them exist. Sure, he may flutter your heart once or twice, but you’re not going to ask him out. If he were to somehow reciprocate, you’ll leave the confession to him.
And he did ask you out. Albeit, in a weird way. You still accepted, agreeing to go out with him. You had also befriended Yosano and Kouyou, so you left Chuuya under Kouyou’s care while you were out.
The two of you hit it off, so now you’re both in a relationship. You didn’t tell Chuuya because you knew he would throw a fit whenever Dazai was mentioned. You kinda regret not telling him, but oh well.
He noticed you and Dazai beginning to get closer, and he thought it was weird but shrugged it off as weird adult things. Then Dazai kissed your hand, which he’s kinda done before, but Chuuya was never used to it, so he just loudly gagged at the sight, letting his thoughts be known.
One time, you told Chuuya to wait for you at a specific spot because you wanted to talk with Dazai. He obeyed and started idly playing with the dirt for a while before looking in your direction, wondering why you were taking a bit. You seemed to be saying goodbye to his teacher, but Dazai planted a kiss? On your cheek?
His face morphed into a horrified expression as he let out a shocked sound. He ran up to you, tugging on your clothes and begging you to get away from Dazai.
Really, all he did was throw a tantrum. You excused yourself and took him home, where he locked himself in his room for the rest of the night.
You decided to let him do his thing for tonight, peeking into his room at midnight to see him sleeping in an awkward position on his bed. At least he put on his sleepwear before laying on the mattress.
You repositioned him, gently kissing his head, then left to your own room.
The next morning, he said good morning to you and apologized for his behavior. You forgave him, of course. It’s not his fault that his teacher and guardian got together and didn’t let him know.
Whenever he sees you and Dazai do anything that could be classified as romantic, he just gags and says “Disgusting!” Or “Ew!”
You had asked him to be as respectful as he could towards Dazai, but you didn’t really expect much from him. You just wanted them to at the very least tolerate each other.
He indeed did not act as nice as you wanted. Chuuya would still be the little rebellious kid he apparently was in the class, even more so with Dazai as his parental figure’s boyfriend.
Now, the brunette had two advantages in the power dynamic. Not only could he have the upperhand as Chuuya’s teacher, but also as his future dad. He poked fun at the boy and if Chuuya tried to retaliate in some way, Dazai would just complain to you.
With you, Chuuya is an absolute angel, always smiling at you, cuddling up to you, doing whatever you say, bringing you little gifts, and the like. With Dazai, he was the opposite.
That little demon, he would be louder, cause more trouble than usual, throw little fits, give Dazai weird looks, and more. It’s like Chuuya’s only goal when around Dazai was to make his life hell. And it kinda was.
One time, you had to run some errands, but couldn’t bring Chuuya along. Luckily, there was no school that day, so Dazai came over to babysit. It should be easy, right? Chuuya wouldn’t want to cause any trouble in his parent’s house, would he?
When you opened the door to your home, it was a mess. Furniture was out of place, the TV was on, there was food on the floor, and in the middle of it all, Dazai and Chuuya froze. The former holding the child away from him while Chuuya was biting Dazai’s wrist. They both looked roughed up.
“What happened here?” You slowly asked, closing the door behind you. You placed down whatever was in your arms and removed any articles of clothing, putting them in their proper place.
“Oh, my lovely significant other who I deeply cherish and wish to spend the rest of my life with! I was just handling your little demon!” Dazai’s smile was tight as he placed Chuuya onto the floor. The latter removed his teeth from where they were. “I know it looks terrible, but we were just bonding! Right, Chuuya?”
The boy flinched at his tone before running to you and jumping onto you. You held onto him as he buried his face in your neck. “Mom/Dad! Dazai was a big meanie! Why are you even with him? He tried to hurt me!”
Dazai scoffed, “I did not! You were biting me! And you saw it, (Name).” He sighed, going into the kitchen and wetting a paper towel. “I’ll start cleaning...”
Although the two of them were troublesome at times, you loved them both. You knew Chuuya would grow into a strong gentleman. It doesn’t matter what he will do for the rest of his life, he will always be your baby.
Honestly, when you first felt like taking care of someone, it was an impulsive decision. But you’re glad that you went through with it, otherwise you wouldn’t be with Chuuya.
End Note: When KiwiBean first watched Wan, they thought Chuuya had a Christian fit, while Akutagawa had a pilgrim one. So, thanks to them!
Honestly, it took a few months to convince them to watch BSD, and they watched a few out of context before seeing the first episode. A few days to continue watching, and now they’re hooked. [I kept repeating BSD until random thoughts of Dazai and Chuuya’s name just ran through their head. :)]

Chuuya does not hate Mori, and he is not afraid of him! I see people say this so often and it doesn't make any sense!
Chuuya's respect for Mori is one of the most emphasised dynamics in the whole series. Chuuya views Mori as everything a leader should be, and pledged his life to server him and his organisation.
Never once do we see Chuuya show any kind of dislike for Mori, in fact we see they have a very close relationship. In Stormbringer with Mori sits next to him for the Flags funeral and even tracks down his real parents at the end.
Him Mori and Koyo all hang out together together and have an almost familial dynamic in the scenes they're in.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
As for him being afraid, Chuuya points out that he could defeat Mori in a fight and leave if he wanted too. He is easily strong enough to take out Mori especially once Dazai is out of the picture. but he stays out of respect for Mori's skill in leadership (something he felt he lacked in the sheep)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Chuuya knows what an awful person Mori is, Mori doesn't exactly hide it around him, but people tend to treat Chuuya as a very morally good character and forget that he works in the MAFIA, he has killed countless people, probably loads of innocents as well. He encouraged Dazai to kill Q so we know the idea of killing children isn't unacceptable to him.
Tumblr media
None of this is to say you shouldn't like Chuuya (He's one of my favourite characters) Just that he is a lot more nuanced then people seem to think, he has done awful things, but that doesn't make him a bad person, because fictional characters don't need to follow real world ethics. Chuuya can respect Mori and that doesn't mean you shouldn't like him, I think people pretend other wise because they hate Mori* and don't want Chuuya to be ok with a character like that. But doing this changes a really key relationship for Chuuya and takes away from the nuance that makes him so interesting.
*I think Mori is a great villain and a disgusting, vile person who I would gladly kick in the groin if I got the chance

Gonna start by saying this is before the events of stormbringer so the flags aren’t dead (I can’t handle it 😭)
He has so much love to give
The type to not really know if there is love in this world, but he’s sure there is because he has so much in his heart to give
And that’s for you!
He’s still a teenage boy, sometimes nervous
You are definitely his first kiss, first love, first everything
And because of this, he holds you on a pedestal above everyone
Shy compliments, only really being bold when he’s ditzy on some foreign wine
Gentle kisses, he is absolutely terrified of harming you
Will brush your hair, kiss your cheek, clip your nails, then cuddle you
Arms wrapped so softly, but it’s still such a strong hold
This strength is great for danger
“Wear what you want, I can fight”
If anyone ever seriously bothered you, he’ll comfort you first and take care of them second
His loyalty is unmatched
Not “sorry, I have a girl.” It’s “No. I have a girl, go away.”
But that harshness melts away the second he sees you. After losing so much, he likes to have you in his sights
He trust all of the flags to care for you
Knowing his friends would never cause you harm in the slightest way
Speaking of, it was most likely Albatross that pushed him to confess.
Over a bet on pool, loser had to listen to the winner. The flags, being wingmen, made Chuuya finally confess.
He had no excuse not to, he was already head over heels
You aren’t a bet, mind you. It’s simply it was the push he needed to do what he was planning for what felt like forever
Assuming you met in the port mafia, he won’t talk much on his past
His new past, the sheep. He likes to stay quiet.
He will never admit it, but because you’re around the same age as the sheep members he sometimes feels as if you’ll leave in betrayal
The best way to comfort him is taking out his little ponytail and playing with his hair
And his… earlier past. Not even he knows the full truth. It’s unlikely he’ll tell you much for many reasons
One, he doesn’t wanna scare you away. Two, he’s scared you’ll think he isn’t human too. Three, he wants you safe and uninvolved. And four, it’s hard to talk about for him
But, of course you do find out. He was terrified for your reaction
So when you said you loved him all the same, he couldn’t just about died. Swearing he saw an angel
That is the first time you see him cry. The stress, fear, confusion, dehumanization. It’s too much, he breaks
You take him in your arms and pet his hair like you always do. A gentle kiss and reassurance works wonders for him.
On a lighter note… GET A PUPPY
Mention you’re the mom and he’s the dad, he’ll melt like ice in the sun
A big dog definitely, something that could probably jump over the two of you.
At 16 he runs the gemstone black market for the port mafia, so expect the most expensive jewels on your neck and wrists.
Anniversary, birthday, holiday, or just a random weekday. Doesn’t matter
Only a year in the port mafia and he’s already rich, so what’s it to him?
Over all, he’s never been in love before. Be gentle and honest. He doesn’t need much, just you.

When you can't fall asleep - headcanons
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairings... gn!reader x Dazai, Chuuya, Ranpo
fluff! - short scenarios
I apologize for any mistakes in advance - english is not my first language!
Hope you enjoy! xx
Tumblr media
Dazai Osamu
You were tossing and turning in your bed, trying to fall asleep, but even the clock ticking kept you awake. Dazai was sound asleep next to you, and it pretty much pissed you off. He was facing you with his back, peacefully snoring. You bit your lower lip and hugged him from behind, burying your face in his messy hair. You remained in this position for several minutes. Your helpless attempt made you let out a huge sigh.
Dazai woke up when he felt your huge exhale in his hair and slowly, carefully turned around. "What’s the matter, belladonna?" He asked while yawning. "Did you have a nightmare or something?" His words were blurry; he was still half asleep.
"I wish." You sighed again, even more painfully. "I can’t fall asleep." You rolled on your back and looked at the ceiling.
All of a sudden, Dazai snuggled up to you. "I can feel you’re annoyed. Come, come, hurry!"
You couldn’t guess what was on his mind, but you blindly followed his order and made yourself comfortable in his embrace. You felt a tiny bit better.
"Now, close your eyes, bella, and focus on my voice." He tightened his arms around you. You could hear his heartbeat in his chest. "One little sheep. Two little sheep…" "You know I’m not a child anymore, right?" You giggled a bit.
"Sssh, don’t interrupt. Try to relax, okay?" He said in a very gentle tone. You nodded to his chest, but you still feel confused about whether this would be helpful or not. "Now… One little sheep. Two little sheep. Three little sheep." You felt your eyelids get heavier. His voice was somehow calming and soothing. "Four little sheep. Five little sheep. Six little sheep." You let out a silent yawn into his chest. "Seven little sheep. Eight little sheep. Nine little sheep." He gently caressed your back while counting; you felt sleepier already. "Ten little sheep…"
Tumblr media
Chuuya Nakahara
"Chuu, I can’t sleep." You suddenly turned to the ginger, who held you in his arms. You couldn’t tell if he was already asleep until he spoke up.
"Me neither. But…" He stopped for a moment." Wait here." Chuuya pulled out his hands from under your body. "I’ve got a great idea to solve this problem."
He carefully walked out of the dark room. You could hear some glass shattering from the kitchen. In a few minutes, he came back and crawled to the bed.
"Gimme your hand!" You hesitantly reached out your hand. He placed a wine glass in it, and you heard some gulping sounds.
"What the hell, Chuu?" You asked doubtfully; you were pretty unsure about the success of this idea.
"Don’t be so picky and trust the process. I’ve heard that drinking red wine before bed helps you fall asleep easier. So, cheers." He raised his glass and toasted with yours.
"I heard drinking on a daily basis is called alcoholism, you know?" You gulped down your drink, then burst out laughing as you heard him choking on his drink from the surprisingly harsh comment.
"You’re ungrateful. I just wanted to help you, you know, Y/N? And this is what you say in response?" He poured another glass for the both of us.
You drank up your wine again quickly and put the glass down beside the bed on the floor. You crawled into Chuuya’s lap like a kitten. "Sorry, Chuu" You said in a blurry, sleepy tone. "But… I feel sleepier, you see…" You yawned and curled up even more.
Chuuya’s huffish attitude washed away as he heard you mumbling. He kissed your forehead and gently caressed your back. "Told you, you ungrateful little…" He smiled warmly in the dark as he heard your breathing paced.
Tumblr media
Edogawa Ranpo
Ranpo quietly sneaked into your shared bedroom; he was working late again. He stopped for a moment in surprise that you were still wide awake, reading a detective book in bed. "It’s pretty late now, ain’t it, Y/N? Why are you still up?" He sneaked in beside you under the blanket. He leaned in close to get a good look at what you were reading. "Well, at least your choice of book is good for falling asleep quickly. The main character is…" You quickly placed your palm on his mouth. "Ranpo! We've talked about this hundreds of times already. I know you already know who the culprit is in every book I read, but you see, I want to find out myself. So please." You looked up at him with a terribly exhausted look on your face. His emerald green eyes widened even more.
"Okay, okay, but…" He gently held your hand, which had been on his mouth moments before. "What’s the-" He lightly shook his head, like he had found out the problem himself. "You can’t fall asleep, right?"
"So that’s the reason why they call you the Greatest Detective in The World." You giggled because of your own teasing comment. "The answer is obviously yes." A huge sigh escaped your lips, and you couldn’t hide the weary look on your face.
He looked deeply into your eyes and frowned his eyebrows; suddenly, Ranpo turned around and drew out the nightstand’s drawer. He clamorously rummaged through the drawer until he took out a small metal box from it.
He looked like a little child when he gave you the box. "I think this could help…" He pouted.
You were a bit suspicious when you opened it. The box was filled with lavender flavored sweets. "I read in an article that lavender helps you fall asleep, so I kept some here for, you know… just in case."
You were overwhelmed by your happiness since Ranpo never offered his treats to anyone. A huge, warm smile spread across your face, and you leaned in to give him a light peck on his cheeks. "We can share, Ranpo.” His eyes immediately sparkled at the generous offer. “And… thank you."

Never give me your back
(Pm!Dazai x Gifted!FemReader)
Nakahara Chuuya x Gifted!femReader (but not really?)
Summary: To say it was your plan to be at Yokohama's most famous hotel and in its casino\club wouldn't be true but what wasn't really in your plans was meeting a certain redhead and the baggage that came with him.
Author's Note: So here is the prologue and let's see how it works from here, also slightly edited so ignore any mistakes if you find one, also Dazai, Reader and Chuuya are 16 here.
Info: Wc(2k-ish) Violence, drinking, gun and bullets, I suppose.
Go to Life Waster Series
Tumblr media
Dazai Osamu prided himself by how intelligent he was and how he managed to look beyond and see what others couldn't and that was exactly what had him frustrated in this very moment… What was it that he was missing?
The slug had told him that the sheep were looking for a certain someone, someone that Chuuya implied was like him in some aspects but to no avail, not the sheep, not the government… no one was able to find that person.
No matter how many paths Dazai followed, they all led to dead ends and now, he was faced with the choice of finding that person no matter the cost or it would be his end, at least in his eyes.
"Sir?" Someone calls for Dazai and he had half the mind to shoot whoever it was that broke his chain of thoughts but then his eyes drifted to the security cams on his desk, showing a live stream of the HQs casino slash nightclub and Dazai's eyes doubled in size when he saw…
He only thought to himself at that moment as his hand tightened around the gun in his hand… There is no way the slug figured it out before me.
Earlier that night
You regretted the decision you made the second you made it, why did you listen to Keisuke? That man didn't know shit about you yet he did but perhaps you should have stayed home instead of accompanying him to the meeting he had.
The Shady meeting he had if you might add because nothing about this meeting was normal in any shape or form and your gut feeling has been giving you signs since he told you about it but the nature of humans being the way it was… you ignored it.
Now, your ignorance had you sitting at the bar in one of the most expensive hotels in Yokohama, drinking scotch and questioning your existence… not a good combination by the way.
The other thing that had your stomach twisting with nerves was the fact that if anyone here caught wind of who you were… it would be over for you and whoever decided to tell on you.
You took in a shaky breath, hand barely able to hold the glass that contained your drink and you figured that the only way to calm yourself was probably to get somewhat drunk and loosen your nerves.
Without a second thought, you downed your drink, fighting against the burn that settled in your throat and the slight sting in your eyes and you had to close your eyes momentarily to steady yourself which also served as a reminder to why you didn't usually drink.
Everything suddenly felt heightend for you, the music was overwhelming, the speakers blasting, the movements of people around you and it made you feel like wanting to crawl out of your own skin, a sensory overload.
You needed to disconnect from all this, you had to but you also knew that the way your hand began clawing and scratching at your arm was no good sign… you had to stop… scratch harder… no, stop… draw blood…
The hand you used to claw at your arm was beginning to dig deeper, to draw blood but that's not what you wanted so why didn't it stop… Why wouldn't it stop?
Stop it! You are my greatest creation and I won't have your anxiety ruin it.
Shut up. Shut up. Shut the fuck up.
Go away. You're not here anymore.
I'm not yours anymore, I'm not-
You just realised that your hand was stuck, no longer sedating the unexplainable itchiness and you looked down to figure out what had it stuck but the moment you did you saw it.
It wasn't a what, it was a who. There was a gloved hand holding yours, keeping it away from your now red and angry arm and your brain didn't even comprehend the whole thing until the person who held your hand talked.
"Take it easy, Doll. Deep breaths." His voice was so… calm and relaxed and it somehow drowned the other sounds around you, making that dark cloud of thoughts disappear.
Your raised your head, your eyes meeting those cobalt blue ones that stared into your soul and you wondered if he could recognise how fucked up you were with the look he was giving you.
But something was still off about you and you couldn't for the life of you figure out what it was.
"Sorry to break it to ya but you kind of need to breathe, Doll." The redhead spoke again and you now understood what was wrong with you… you might have left the state you were in but your body was still in defence mode, where even breathing was barley allowed.
Slowly but surely you took one breath, then another and it almost felt like your lungs wanted to cry in relief at the feeling of air entering them again.
The embarrassment of the entire situation kicked in your brain as the gears started turning again and you felt your cheeks heat up in an instant.
"I-I'm so sorry, I don't know what happened, I-" You stuttered and stumbled over your words, adding insult to injury to this already embarrassing moment.
But when the redhead simply gave you an understanding smile and took a seat beside you, the embarrassment subdued at the thought that he didn't find what happened with you alarming.
He talked in that voice of his again. "No need to apologise or explain, Doll. I would get overwhelmed in a place like this, especially if it wasn't usually my scene."
He then tapped the bar and told the bartender to refill your scotch and ordered a new one for himself before he turned to you again.
A gloved hand was extended to you. "Chuuya Nakahara."
You pondered for a moment whether you should tell him your name or not but figured that it would be no harm to do so… like come on, what were the chances you meet again, right?
Shaking his hand, you told him your name before taking your glass of scotch and taking a huge gulp from it.
Chuuya downed the entire glass and it didn't look like he had the slightest issue with the burning sensation it left behind.
He tapped his glass for a refill before he turned to you, his blue eyes piercing through you. "So what brings you here, Doll? It's obviously not your scene."
Your fingers drummed against your glass, a habit you should have gotten rid of a long time ago but answered nonetheless and if you somehow screwed up anything, the alcohol was taking the blame.
"A friend of mine has a meeting here and thought it would be a good idea for me to come here too." You found your gaze wandering all over the man, from his face to his suit to that weird looking hat he had on.
Who was Chuuya Nakahara?
Chuuya said before he downed another glass. "Well, I'm glad he did, Doll. Otherwise, how else would I have been able to meet you?"
"But I'm also curious, what kind of friend leaves their friend alone in a place like this? I mean he must understand that some people wouldn't miss an opportunity to take advantage of you and hurt you." He questioned.
And that actually had you laughing, like straight up laughing out loud because he didn't just say that but he was excused, he wasn't aware of who you were, he didn't know that no one would be able to hurt you with what you had.
"Sorry, that was rude but trust me, Chuuya… no one can hurt me." You told him and you could almost swear you saw his eyes shine with a new light, as if he won the grand prize but as soon as you saw it, it disappeared.
He sighed. "Perhaps but sometimes we are the ones who hurt ourselves and you definitely seem the kind to do that."
Your body movement stopped all together and your blood ran cold in your veins while your skin paled. "I'm not--"
"Oh yes, you are. I know a haunted look when I see one and what happened with you a few minutes ago, it wasn't just about being overwhelmed… it was a triggered reaction but what exactly triggered you, Doll?" Chuuya asked and you felt your body kick into flight mode as you immediately jumped to your feet and went to walk away from the redheaded man.
But his hand caught your wrist and pulled you back to your seat and he looked you in the eye while his grip tightened on your wrist.
And he made the biggest mistake of his life when he asked again and said what he shouldn't have said. "What are you afraid of, Time Weaver?"
Your eyes burned blue and so did your body, you let the monster out as you stared him dead in the eye. "Certainly not you."
Blue ropes shot out of your body and slammed him to the nearest wall when you heard Keisuke call out for you. "Run! They want you!"
From the corner of your eye, you saw Chuuya get up and recover from the impact of the slam you gave him but you didn't comprehend that soldiers entered the club, with people screaming and running, it was hard to keep track.
Bullets rang in the air and you closed your eyes, knowing there was no way out of this, you just had to get Keisuke out and away from here then the rest could be solved or at least you hoped it would be.
Then everything went quiet and your eyes fluttered open and you took in how everything barely moved, the bullets directed at you were stuck mid air and Keisuke was stopped mid run to you.
You walked with slow and steady steps to him and shot out your ropes again, grabbing his body and walking up to the elevator, you put him inside and clicked on the G level before going back to the club.
A slight humming was what you let out while using your ropes, moving everyone and everything to suit your own purpose and a smile graced your lips as you saw the final image of the scenario you created before you went to stand behind chuuya.
With confidence you snapped your fingers and the world went back to its normal speed and you watched in amusement as the guards that were shooting at you were now in front of the bullets meant for you and how they fell to the ground as they got shot by them.
Chuuya was watching the scene with angry eyes and he looked left and right for you but didn't think about checking behind his back.
You had one rope out and almost… almost wrapped it around his throat from behind when you felt the cold bite of a barrel on the back of your head…
"I wouldn’t do that if I were you. He tends to lose his mind when he's angry." A nonchalant voice spoke behind, digging the gun deeper into your skull as Chuuya turned around.
His eyes widened when he saw you behind him but simply gave him a smile and was going to slow down time again when you sensed a hand holding the nape of your neck and suddenly you couldn't feel your ability… what the…
You turned around to look at the man who did something to you and stared into one uncovered eye as he smiled mischievously at you.
"Welcome to the port mafia, Time Weaver." Was the last thing you heard before someone knocked you out and everything went dark.

The Sheep King and his Demon AU
Aka Bsd except Chuuya doesn't join the Port Mafia.
Not technically canon to this... Butt what if Dazai joined the Sheep.
Basically the whole operation of setting members of the Sheep free, takes a lot longer than anticipated.
And so Dazai is sort of taken hostage by the Sheep until their hostages are released.
I say sort of because Dazai offered himself up as a hostage.
He's curious, he wants to know about this gang of teenagers that causes such havoc for the Port Mafia.
Especially their king.
The Sheep hold a meeting and they agree.
Dazai is suprised by his treatment, sure he and Chuuya argue constantly and he can piss off anyone without even trying.
But they treat him like they treat each other.
At first Dazai assumed they were lax about security because he came willingly. Or they were just that overconfident.
But he realises that's not the case at all.
Sure they keep an eye on him, mostly Chuuya. But he's not restricted to their base, just warned against going further into Suribachi city.
Obviously, Dazai doesn't because that sounds like more trouble than its worth.
But he's not handcuffed or kept in a makeshift cell. He's allowed to roam around the base and the surrounding area with a Sheep member keeping an eye on him.
Their all well aware of who he is, and have procedures and an agreed upon plan if things go south.
But for the most part, Dazai is treated like one of them.
Like, Yuan takes food inventory. She calculates how much they've got, rations the food as fair as she can.
So Dazai is suprised when a can of crab is handed to him every so often.
Because no one else eats crab, he's the only one. And Yuan goes out of her way to get him it so he'll have something to eat.
He wonders if it's to keep him on their good side, but it's not the case. Because Yuan tries to grab the others food that they love, it's not always possible but she tries.
None of the others comment about it, some joke about him eating crab of all things but leave it there.
They never force him to eat with them but the door is always open.
"Thanks for the crab."
"Hm? Oh your welcome."
Shirase is a strategiest, which suprised Dazai given their first meeting.
But apparently when he's not blinded by emotions, he's a lot more calculating and smart.
Dazai's offered to help when he's seen Shirase scheming a heist against a shipment heading into Port Mafia terrority.
"You... Want to help us steal from your people?"
"Why not?"
Shirase just stared at him for a moment before snorting, moving to sit beside him.
Showing his notebook and filling Dazai in what was happening.
They spend the next few hours pouring over ideas.
Tossing plans back and fourth. Sometimes they end up walking in circles and Shirase ends up leaving to patrol but thanks him for his input.
Dazai's never had anyone but Mori to steategise with, but this felt different. Quietly he'll admit that it was fun.
For all of Chuuya's grumbling of not being a king, he's an effective leader.
And so different from Mori.
After becoming Boss, Mori is strictly hands off.
He rules through fear and intimadation. He doesn't have to fight because he had tools that would it for him.
Mori's word was law, you didn't challenge it unless you had a coffin picked out.
Than you had Chuuya who constantly throws himself onto the front lines. He's a team player even if he would jump into danger alone to spare the others.
The Sheep follow Chuuya because they trust him. They need each other to survive and care about each other.
Chuuya doesn't give orders, everything feels like an open ended discussion. They debate and scheme and come up with solutions together.
The Sheep have even benched him when he's injured despite Chuuya saying he was fine.
They know each other's limits and don't use that to exploit it each other. Rather how to help and take care off each other.
It's so different to what Dazai's used too.
It's werid.
But it's not a bad werid.
Dazai starts to dread the idea of going back to the Port Mafia. He makes a throw away comment about it at dinner and everyone goes silent.
Chuuya just looks at him like he's said the dumbest thing he's ever heard.
"Idiot, if you don't wanna go back. Don't."
Dazai wants to laugh and say that it's not that easy. You don't just leave the Port Mafia, he'll be killed or worse and that's before Mori finds out and deals with him personally.
Chuuya rolls his eyes, as if reading his mind. He tilts his head to the others, and Dazai looks around.
And notices the looks on everyone's faces.
No one objects, no one looks annoyed or angry... Infact, they seem to all be in an agreement.
If the Port Mafia tried to take Dazai, they would all rally behind him.
And Dazai... He smiles.
Somewhere deep down he knows he's found where he belongs.
Chuuya gifts him his blue wristband, putting it on his wrist.
Dazai: Werid way to propose Slug.
Chuuya: I'm not proposing?! We're not even dating!
Dazai: Do I have to do everything around here?
Chuuya: You never do shit!
Shirase: Not true! Shirase tell him! Tell him how useful I've been!
Shirase: He's not wrong, Chuuya.
Dazai: Awww thank you hedgehog!
Shirase:... Nevermind he's been lazing around all morning.
Dazai: Gasp betrayal!
Yuan:.. Did he just say gasp?
Dazai:, Fine fine, oh great king Chuuya will you go out with the lowly peasant that is me?
Chuuya:... I will pay you to never call me that... And sure fine I'll go out with you.
Yuan: I win! Pay up scrubs!
Everyone else: groans and pays her their money
Chuuya: You bet on us?!
Shirase: You can't actually be suprised.
Chuuya:...
Yuan: Thought so.
Dazai: Damnit why didn't I think of that?

I've been having a lot of reverse!skk thoughts lately.
Setting up some context: Oda never died during the Mimic arc. Dazai still unravelled Mori's plan and now there's a huge rift between them. Dazai never trusted Mori completely, and now he barely does. Their dynamic had turned into a power play between them.
Oda's kids still died. Oda lives having survived his suicidal massacre but the weight of his loss and the blood on his hands weighs on him. He is no longer a pacifist. His dream for writing a novel is gone. Dazai has tried to help him, but he can barely help himself so he's kinda bad at it.
Ango's hanging out with the government now! No one trusts him :/
Chuuya leaves a few months after the Mimic incident. He comes across a set of documents proving Mori's involvement with the Arahabaki project as well as his personal tied with the military doctor that is Chuuya's real father. After failing to kill Mori for his betrayal, Chuuya is now a traitor. No one knows why he tried to suddenly kill the Boss, but the incident itself is whispered throughout the entirety of the Mafia. People point to Chuuya's origins in the Sheep as proof that he was a traitor all along, bidding his time.
Dazai doesn't know why. Its driving him crazy.
Chuuya thinks Dazai knew the entire time. They're a mess of zero communication.
Chuuya spends his time hiding out in different parts of the world (he's got friends in the UK so there's that!) He looks for his parents and finds them, only to leave them behind like he's done in canon. He's aware the Mafia is keeping tabs on them, but that's not the only reason why he left.
He gets a little reckless, beats up some bad guys. He doesn't know exactly what to do with his life, so he's kind of mess.
His little vigilante spree reaches Chief Taneda, who sends Ango to keep tabs on him and offer him a job. Can't have a former military experiment of infinite power running around without supervision.
Chuuya, uh, does not take the offer well (poor Ango).
Chief Taneda finally confronts him in person, says if he wants a job Taneda knows a guy who is not affiliated with the government and whom Chuuya might like (received almost as badly, but Chuuya considers it).
While Chuuya's mulling over this weird offer, he runs into a human trafficking organization that was in conflict with the Sheep back in the day. He's got an excuse to beat up more bad guys. Guess who he ends up running into (yes it's the Agency).
More specifically, it's Ranpo! They squabble, they team up, the works. Ranpo is like "Do you want a job" and Chuuya is like "That's sus but I'll think about it" (he does in fact want it)
Chuuya ends up meeting the other Agency members before he agrees (Ranpo 100% has nothing to do with that. Totally.) He likes them. He thinks they're all insane. He misses having people around who aren't there to double cross him. He takes the job.
Enterance Exam! I'm so sorry Kunikida.
Chuuya avoids the PM like the plague.
And then he meets Atsushi.
