Funniest bit of the dnd movie is Xenk clearly being an NPC the DM introduced for lore and plot purposes who’s a competent fighter because of course he is, his reputation and backstory require it. But whoopsies the DM made him too powerful, the whole party likes him, and now they want him to come with to fight the BBEG which will completely and utterly fuck up the encounter balance
So instead of there being any actual plot reason he can’t join Xenk just says “I can’t. This is something only you can do.” And then walks off, never to interact with the party again because the DM just knows those little shits will find a way to use their OP creation against them
Out of all the decisions made for the film, I would have to say the best one had to be when they introduced Xenk by having him serve absolute CUNT™ and then casually leaving
LOOK AT THEIR REACTIONS PLEASE!!
Excellent observation by others: the fact he took off his jacket like he was about to dive into the water or wrestle the fish but no, he just wanted to be dramatic asf for no reason and then ofc you can hear the players ask the DM if they can smash romance Xenk but they can't. Also the SHIRT?? SLAY!
“Average character in Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves rolls 3 nat 20s per campaign" factoid actually just statistical error. Average character in Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves rolls 0 nat 20s per campaign. Xenk Georg, who has the favor of the Dice Gods™ & rolls over 10,000 nat 20s every session, is an outlier and should not have been counted
Have I mentioned lately that I loved D&D: Honor Among Thieves? Because I absolutely adore that movie and really really really REALLY want a sequel, or at least more works from the production team and every actor in it
God just. Every moment of this movie lives in my head forever rent-free. I need to watch it again.
