I also made one slight addition to Maris' story: Fritz is only her second husband, her first husband was a man from the village named James
(Because since you've said Feral is in his 50s, even if he and Maris are in the very earliest at just 50, that would still put that Maris only had Lavender at 34, and since in the 70s and early 80s it would have been strange for a young woman to only get married in her early 30s, especially since she's from a smaller community, I decided it would make sense for her to have had at least one previous partner before moving away with Fritz)
No one knows what happened to James. He just... disappeared one day. As did his childhood friend Hannah.
Some people observed that he was too close to her in ways he shouldn't since he was a married man.
But if one thing's certain is that Maris didn't cry when everyone failed to find him.
You know what they say
"Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned"
OOOOH DAMN!!!

Thought I had as I am doing a practical exam (VERY OLD THOUGHT LOL) {🔑}
"Okay okay listen listen, I don't play Genshin and I probably never will given the storage needed for that game, but it's just, Reverse Isekai! Genshin Impact characters getting isekaid to the modern world and the person (you, aka the reader) they got stuck with is either a college student or highschool student who is dumped with a bunch of activities and are on the brink of breaking down because of so much to do
Now your favorite Genshin Impact character is trying to comfort you and they try their best to understand your stress, since having a lot of activities can be really really stressful.
Not going into too much depth but I did feel stressed out when this period of time happened so for anyone who wants to brainrot about this can go ahead."

ayo written another hikikel drabble, this time how mari is feeling just during post good-ending, after getting her feelings sorted out and getting to see all the kids and have some moments
warning: mentions of hanging and suicide.
-------------------
The wind is light, a summery breeze wafting through the trees in the backyard. Mari lies there, watching the clouds lazily soar through a pristine blue sky. Summer break has only just begun, and already, so much has happened.
Kel came out of the house, for the first time in four years. And Mari didn't ever truly realise what that meant, at the time. But now, looking back on just a few days ago, it meant so much would happen.
She got to see Sunny again for the first time in so long. She understood, then, what she had done back then. How badly Mari screwed up with her brother. Of course, he was suffering as well. It became so blindingly obvious that he had to cope with death at twelve years old, and he did it by running away and pretending he was alright. At least Sunny did something with himself, something that was productive.
It hurt Mari, now, to see how she ignored everything, gluing herself to a piano. Gluing herself to the memories of someone now dead.
"You're letting yourself rot away, and for what? The memory of someone who wouldn't be able to handle seeing you break yourself like this!"
It stings, to see how she was causing the rest of them to suffer. If she had gotten back up sooner. Maybe she could've helped them, instead of running away from herself.
"If you want to honour his memory that badly, then get up! Dying on that piano won't bring him back! You know this! Mari! Why won't you see what you're doing to all of us!"
All the words Mari remembered Sunny spit at her. All those pent-up feelings, all that hate for what she had done to herself. How Mari let herself think such terrible things.
YOU LOVE A PIANO MORE THAN YOUR OWN BROTHER
The sun is warm, and the grass is oddly soft, with the soil beneath cold, from being mostly in the shade. Mari sighs, wishing she could take back everything she said. But Sunny was right. They couldn't change the past. He said that during their first big fight, and he said it again in the hospital room.
"We can't change what already happened. All we can do now is move forward and try to cope with reality. Besides, Mari. We should be happy Hero didn't actually hang himself, right? He never wanted to leave us, especially not like that."
She regrets what she chose to say that day. The words she spat, spat at a kid who had only just then come to terms with what he had done. A kid who was almost murdered.
And God, was that a sight to walk in on. All Mari heard was the thump of someone hitting the floor. She couldn't properly remember what exactly had gone down after. All Mari could do was call an ambulance and desperately try and stop someone from dying.
Maybe, after she had plugged the wounds and applied pressure, if she had gone back up, instead of numbly sitting there, then the kids she had once grown to love as a family wouldn't be so battered now.
Because Mari got to see their faces, and see just what damage a nail bat can do when it's being swung by a girl who had completely lost it in every way. It hurt so much, knowing now what could have been avoided.
"But we can't change the past, Mari! How many times do I have to say it?! We have to move on. Keep going... It's what he would've wanted for us."
A phone buzz disturbs Mari from her reverie. She turns to check the message, before sighing once more. She gets up and dusts the grass off herself, and begins to walk to the hospital.
I guess I can't keep running from this for much longer. I'm sorry it's taken me this long to stop being so stupid.
--------------
if yall like what yall see, consider following and reblogging! it spreads the content about and also I need people to talk to about my brainrot and thinking. Mari is a complex character and I really wanna do her justice. Next drabble might just be bully Aubrey or Kel hours. Maybe both. Who knows.
