YOU: season 5
Spoilies for seasons 1-4 below:
Okay so they’ve said that people from Joe’s past will come back to haunt him and possibly bring him to justice. So, I’ve been thinking about who could be part of this group of people who’d want to take Joe down.
Blythe and Ethan would probably not have anything to do with it. Blythe sent Beck’s book to her agent and got it published. Neither she nor Ethan have anything against Joe because they don’t know that he’s a murderer. Paco and his mom also have no reason to go after Joe; he helped them. No one from season 1 knows that Joe is the one who killed Beck- except for Dr. Nicky. But Dr. Nicky found God in prison and has no urge to take Joe down (he says so in season 2).
As far as loose ends from season 2, Ellie is the obvious one. Her sister is dead because of Joe. Joe ruined her life and she’s definitely never forgiven him.
Season 3 has more loose ends than others. There’s Sherry and Cary, and Matthew and Theo Engler. Sherry and Cary were literally trapped in the cage by Love and Joe and Cary almost died. Love killed Matthew’s wife, Natalie, and severely injured Theo. Matthew was on to Love and Joe, too. He was very suspicious of them. You could even consider Dante a loose end because he’s the one who ended up taking care of Joe’s son, Theo.
As far as season 4 goes, Marienne and Nadia are the big loose ends. Joe abducted Marienne and trapped her in the cage for a long time and only got away due to the combined cleverness of herself and Nadia. Nadia is framed for Eddie’s murder at the end of the season, and she goes to prison. But she knows what Joe did to Marienne and the others; she knows who he is.
I’d love to see as many of these people as possible come together to take Joe down. I know Jenna Ortega (Ellie) is booked and busy as hell, but I really hope she comes back. An Avengers-esque team up of all the people Joe has wronged would make me so incredibly happy.

𝔱𝔥𝔢 𝔰𝔦𝔫𝔦𝔰𝔱𝔢𝔯 𝔠𝔥𝔞𝔯𝔞𝔠𝔱𝔢𝔯 𝔞𝔰𝔭𝔢𝔠𝔱
BEFORE GOING INTO THIS POST, REMEMBER THAT THIS IS ALL MAKE BELIEVE, NOTHING UNDER HERE IS REAL, IT IS ALL FAKE!
♇ my uranus in the third house clicked, i was sitting on my bed and was wondering actors and actresses that can play a sinister character so well, have to have a common aspect. look at all these characters i list below.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
♇ what do they all have in common? they're ALL INSANE.
♇ like of course, actors and actresses know how to portray sinister, menacing and ominous characters, but these actors and actresses i've picked just know how to switch that button so quick and play such patronising and intimidating character, that'll make you think if they're actually like that in real life.
♇ for example, people really do be thinking the guy that plays joe is a serial killer in real life, and that the guy that plays nate jacobs actually behaves disturbingly off screen.
♇ and the aspect that does this is neptune-pluto. specifically neptune sextile pluto.
♇ neptune is the planet of projections, (camera wise), video, screen, acting and so on, and it being paired with a planet that is considered dangerous, sinister and scary, causes them to naturally play it so well.
♇ like i really be thinking the man that played ramsay bolton is a terrible person in real life. [but learn how to separate the character and the actor/actress].
♇ yet, neptune makes illusions, that's why it is said that people who play disturbing/rude characters are actually the sweetest people in real life, because that's what neptune does, it'll create illusions and delusions with whatever it is paired with.
♇ neptune - pluto gives the illusion that a person is terrible, predatory, destructive and power hungry. (on screen).
♇ for example, it can go the same way with neptune - venus, it can give the illusion that someone is sweet, on the other hand, they can be the meanest person. example given, ellen degeneres has neptune - venus and for a long time she was displayed as a generous and sweet person when in truly, she's not. she does have neptune sqaure venus so her mask wasn't going to be stable for a long time.
♇ here is a video example of people who have neptune sextile pluto and know how to portray sinister characters so well:

You: a Netflix Show & Book Comparison
The failure of a faithful film/book adaptation often runs in the anatomy of its chosen media, and while the Netflix series You, starring Penn Badgley, strays quite far from its original source, it’s an excellent example of a faithful adaptation.
At its core, both Netflix’s show and Caroline Kepnes’ 2014 book You run in the same vein of stories: Joe Goldberg and his very-normal response to an obsessive crush. However, the similarity pretty much ends there, and each story takes an equally enthralling - albeit different - road.
Tumblr media
(This post is solely focused on the first book - and first season - of You!)
Here are the main differences:
1. Book-You is much darker and sinister.
While the show is also narrated by Joe Goldberg, book-Joe dives deeper into his darker and creepier nature. Each page is crawled with his growing paranoia and attempts to justify himself, often missing large marks of redeeming qualities that show-Joe easily exudes along his charm.
2. Joe Goldberg is a different character.
While both the story is a deep character study dive of a killer, the characters are simply written differently. While show-Joe is witty, charming, funny, and nice to kids, book-Joe is blunt, creepy, and unlikeable, not to mention lacking Penn Badgley’s charm and screen presence. Simply said, show-Joe is who book-Joe thinks he is; show-Joe is written to be altered into an anti-hero rather than a pure villain.
3. The language, justification, and motivation.
While both characters commit the same nature of crimes, it is the attitude and justification that primarily separates the two Joe Goldbergs: while show-Joe is calculative and runs in the justification “for the better good” and is nice to kids, book-Joe expresses misogynistic language and impulsive behaviors.
In addition to the main differences, here are the minor differences:
Tumblr media
1. Paco does not exist. (Hence elaborating on the Point 1 that show-Joe is a difficult character to villainize because he’s so nice to kids!).
2. Beck isn’t a broke student and there’s no creepy professor.
3. Peach Salinger isn’t as suspicious of Joe.
4. Peach dies differently (she’s thrown into the ocean) and Beck doesn’t dwell on her death as much as she does in the show.
5. Joe never meets any of Beck’s friends; the hate runs similarly deep, but he only knows them through her hacked email conversation threads.
6. Candace is dead; there’s a different girl named Amy Adam who later steals Joe’s rare book and is the reason why he goes to LA to kill her (surprise!).
Tumblr media
Both the book and show are exciting on their own; to sum it up the best, while the show is more plot-driven thus having a stronger reliance on audience tension, the book is a deeper and more serious dive into the complexity of Joe’s character as a villain.
I would definitely recommend both the show and book; each is interesting for different purposes, and in the meantime, I definitely cannot wait for the release of Season 4.

The Line is Gray
Summary: Ruby is devoted to Weiss; Weiss thinks she’s actually obsessed.
Inspired by the season one finale of YOU, aka the best show ever.
Pairing: Ruby X Weiss
Word Count: 867
Warning: kidnapping
-
“Wait wait wait!” Ruby screams, leaning against the glass of the cage. “I know you're angry but we can talk about this.”
Weiss whirls around, and there's a fury there that Ruby has never seen before. In all her months of watching Weiss, she’d never even seen her raise her voice. Now, she looked ready to light her on fire.
“You have no idea what I am, you fucking psycho.” Weiss seethes. Her normally plated hair is loose and wild, falling over her shoulders in waves, and it makes Ruby cry harder.
She balls her fists on the edge of the carpet, her side where Weiss had stabbed with the typewriter keys aches but not as much as her heart. “I knew it was too good to be true.”
“What, all the nice things that I said to you, while I was locked in a cage?” Weiss screams. “You thought I meant that?” She's breathing hard, her cheeks flushed, and Ruby leans against the glass with one palm.
“You actually believe, that all of this,” Weiss says, waving her hand around the basement. “Is somehow justified?”
“It is!” Ruby swears. How can Weiss not see it, the devotion Ruby has shown her? She built her a home, gave her a place to write, no distractions. Isn't that what Weiss had always wanted?
“You are insane,” Weiss cries, her voice cracking, and she holds her hands against her chest. She’s still wearing Ruby’s shirt, the plaid one with the buttons, and her fingers shake. “You think what, that you did some bad shit and i did some bad shit and its what, equivalent?”
Ruby says nothing, her side pulsating, the tears on her face still damp and she tries to sit up straight.
“Yeah, I lied, and I cheated, but I-I didn’t stalk you,” Weiss cries, and she's out of breath. “I didn't hit you, I didn't kill people, I didn't do any of it!”
With renewed vigor Ruby sits up, banging on the glass door. “There's not a line…in the world, that I wouldn't cross for you.” She tries to smile, tries to show Weiss that she's still the same old Ruby, the same girlfriend who rubbed her feet at night and helped her with her essays. “That's love, Weiss.”
“That isn't love, that's obsession,” Weiss spits. “I didn't ask for you to come in like, like some sort of knight.”
“But you did!” Ruby argued. “You’re life was a mess-”
“And it was my life!” Weiss screams, her voice strained. “And I didn't need some psycho on her white horse to swoop in and save me. I mean, what gives you the right? You thought that I would be grateful?”
Weiss takes a step back, her shaking hand coming to rest above her mouth and Ruby leans her forehead against the glass. This isn't how any of it was supposed to go, no, no, no, it was all wrong.
“You, you are her. You are the bad thing.” Weiss says with a shaky breath. “You are the thing you wanted to ‘protect’ me against.” she puts her fingers up in air quotes. “But you know what I think? I think this is all some sort of excuse, an excuse to creep into people's lives and violate the shit out of them.”
Ruby settles her jaw, her eyes shut with exhaustion and disappointment. “If you let me out, we can talk. Okay?”
“I think you love it!” Weiss continues. “The power, the ability to control? It gets you off. I think this was the perfect excuse to take out people like Jaun, and Blake, people that have looked down on you, your entire miserable existence.”
Ruby opens her eyes, staring at her in disbelief. “No, no that's not true, I would never hurt someone I love.”
“Tell that to Penny, you sick fuck!” Weiss shouts, and nearly falls over from the effort. She sits down, breathing hard and her lower lip trembles.
“Weiss,” Ruby begs. “Just listen to me.”
Weiss looks up, her jaw tight and brow set. “You aren’t special. You're broken.” she says, her voice hard. “I could never love you. Rot in there, you psychotic asshole.”
She stands, brushing her jeans off and Ruby feels another tear slip down her cheek. Moving around storage boxes, Weiss climbs the stairs of the basement two at a time. When she reaches the door, she puts a shaky grip on the knob and turns.
The door doesn't budge. She tries again, this time yanking, and still it doesn't move. Weiss swallows, before turning slowly, and staring down the stairwell. Taking the steps slowly, she creeps back down, in search of the keys she had seen Ruby carry. As she looks around, her heart sinks, finding the door to the glass cage wide open.
Her blood runs cold, and she looks around, moving slowly, before she feels a presence behind her and jumps back.
“When Qrow used to lock me down here I learned a valuable lesson,” Ruby says softly, her face still streaked with tears but there was no emotion behind her eyes. “Hide a spare key, so you can get out of the god damn cage.”

Things Joe’s Fucked Up So Far
I’ve just started watching You and I’m keeping a list of all the dumb shit Joe does. If u do crime don’t do this shit
I’m only a couple eps in and I wrote these on my phone at 4am as live updates. They get progressively more unhinged
(line break added for no spoilers)
Ep 1-2:
Keeping souvenirs (Benji’s phone)
Keeping the souvenirs in his house no less
Telling other people (Paco) where evidence can be hid (ceiling tiles in washroom)
Sending messages from those souvenirs (IP address tracking is a thing, dummy)
Keeping a hostage in a public place where he could easily be discovered
Asking someone else to put the killing substance in Benji’s coffee (peanut oil in coffee is weird and could be remembered by the coffee shop employee— potential witness??)
Victim is someone close to someone he knows— his girlfriends ex, as a matter of fact
Before he died, Benji said they had mutually assured destruction. I’m guessing it’ll be more mutually assured than Joe thought.

YOU - a personal review nobody asked for
SPOILERS FOR SEASON 3 & 4
Tumblr media
Season three of YOU, -the netflix series- , was really disappointing for me, really wanted to dive in this whole rich suburbia thing, but it didn't quite do it for me, I really wanted the whole season being about Love, slowly loosing it about Joe lusting over the neighbours, and the killing starting slowly, out of desperation and everything just... clicking, the paranoia, a little bit of cheating and stalking, and then the murder! muahaha
It didn't happen, HUGE disappointment, everything seemed so rushed and then Love just started killing people left and right and locking them up... I don't know, and then the love interest was something
But I watched season 4 anyways, because I'm super curious
And the first part was AMAZING I was really enjoying this, this British "Clue" sort of thing, Joe, "redeeming himself" and I just enjoying it so much! the beautiful british people, this man having outsmarted Joe, a true psychopath that uses him as his personal killer I WAS EATING IT UP
But the second part? I'm in the ninth chapter and I can't digest it, WTF? perhaps it gets better in the last two chapters but I don't think so. The chapter I hated the most and I can't watch even now, is that chapter in season two, when Forty drugs him and he can't remember anything he did and if he kills Delilah, this feels exactly like that. And I HATE IT, not knowing what happened and what didn't it makes me feel desperate and I don't like it. this whole things seems like a bad trip
whyyyyy the first two seasons where AMAZINGGGGG and the first part of Season 4! wtf happened??? so dissapointed!
