An ask game for writers to procrastinate working on your WIP(s)
Hey all! Thanks so much for tagging me @wellbelesbian, @aristocratic-otter, @valeffelees, @you-remind-me-of-the-babe, @ivelovedhimthroughworse and @iamamythologicalcreature! You’ve all correctly determined that I am procrastinating writing.
1. 🐬Tell us the name of your/ one of your WIP(s)
I actually don’t have any that are named at this point. Titles and tags are really difficult for me and I put both off to the last minute and second-guess myself into hell
2. 🍄Decriscribe your wip/one of your wips in the format of “___ + ___=___”
Popular movie retelling + flying goats = Baz and Dev have A Spot of Bother
3. 🌍What tags or warnings will your / one of your wip(s) need if you intend to share it?
Wraaaugugh, see #1 :P. I don’t know, in seriousness, I think the WIP mentioned above will end up getting a tag for sexual harassment or something like that given the nature of one necessary scene in the movie it’s based on. It’s not going to be worse than the source material, which is PG-13
4. 🧭An alternative title to your/ one of your WIP(s)?
Oh, to have so many ideas for titles that there’s ever an alternative lying around to spare :(
5. ⚠️Which wip your most likely to finish or update next?
I’m pretty likely to finish a sequel to Field Trip of Dreams (SEE WHAT I MEAN about titles?) this week. The eighth years are off on another field trip—this time it’s a weekend training excursion with the Mage. Baz and Simon have been dating for the short time that’s passed since FToD, but they manage to get in a fight on the bus trip to Scafell Pike, and when it turns into a sort-of-tussle the Mage mistakes it for actual animosity and sends them off to a secluded cabin to bang (I mean work🙄) it out. Absolutely everybody but Davy—including the other teachers—knows exactly how much of a “punishment” this is
6. 💾 What is your document of your wip/ a wip called? (not the stories actual title but what you've saved it as)
Practical magic au
7. 🖍️Post Any sentence from your wip
“Shut up, Gareth!” we shout as one, Snow adding a few brutish threats as Gareth pales and turns back around in his seat.
8. ♻️A scrapped idea for your current WIP
I actually can’t remember. I don’t plot my writing out very extensively so in a sense there’s hundreds of little scrapped thoughts rather than anything huge. I’m eliminating a lot of things with my crucible marriage fic, but it’s hard to say right now what’s actually gone or just being moved around. I know a major one I’ve been battling with is that prior to getting dragged off to Pitch Manor by his new husband Baz, I want Simon to have been living with Penny in a flat of their own, but for another aspect of the story I want him to have been living with the Mage in Watford (which is an au mage’s settlement in the fic) as well. There’s ways to work around it for the results I want, I just haven’t written it out yet.
9. 🤔What's a story you'd love to write but haven't even started yet?
I’m pretty sure I have at least a few lines written down for everything I want to write
10. 🤡How many Wips are you actively working on?
Oh, man…actively, probably the field trip one and my COBB. Somewhat less actively: a reverse COBB fic, a sequel to Monsters Under the Bed, a sequel to After Hours where Simon makes good on his promise to despoil Baz on his office desk, and my unending crucible marriage fic. Less active than that: a fic response to a prompt for Simon being the one kidnapped and Baz has to rescue him. There’s probably (cough*definitely*cough) some pretty messed-up OOC smut stuff lying around in my docs as well, that I add to when I’m in the mood and have zero plans to ever post
11. 🛠️Is there a scene or anything in the WIP you are struggling with right now?
I keep telling myself to just write and stop worrying about this for the moment, but I’m kind of bumming myself out worrying about whether I want to use first or third person, as well as past or present tense, for my COBB. I think the issue is that some scenes are bound to play out better one way while others would be better served differently. This is not usually a thing I struggle with.
12. ❤️Not a question, just a second kudos to send.
🥰
This was fun! (Once I stopped putting it off, lol). No pressure tagging (and sorry if I get anyone who’s already done it): @cutestkilla, @mooncello, @artsyunderstudy, @prettygoododds, @drowninginships, @hushed-chorus, @bookish-bogwitch, @thewholelemon, @brilla-brilla-estrellita, @youarenevertooold, @ileadacharmedlife, @facewithoutheart, @imagineacoolusername, @ic3-que3n

Chapter 21: Ultimatum
Oh no, oh no, oh no…
Panic. Sheer panic.
She couldn't say no in front of all of his guests – and he knew that. She knew what everyone would think of both of them if she did that; gods, what a disaster! The news would be everywhere! Archduke of Baldur's Gate, officially and publicly humiliated by – by whom? She was nobody! People would start whispering and they'd spread rumours and the entire city could easily turn against her – after all, most of the people loved Gortash. She walked around in the city with open eyes and ears.
But if she said yes?
Most of the people of Baldur's Gate would be envious of her for sure. After all, he was the pillar of power, rapidly gaining the liking of every soul that lived there – tadpole or not, he was famous in everyone's eyes. She'd make enemies either way. If she refused him, people would hate her for humiliating him, if she said yes, people would hate her for being with him.
She couldn't possibly win.
She imagined, though, how Astarion would react. Because that was what he did best: reacting. Never planning forward, just acting on impulse. And that impulse easily could end in a bloodshed. He could go on a rampage right there and then, he'd bite himself through the crowd to get to them – would Gortash, or even Tav, be fast enough to stop him? Would they be swift enough to survive if that happened? How fast would Astarion fight himself forward in such an unsuspecting crowd?
Tav hadn't realised she had her right hand's fingertips over her mouth as she was staring at Enver. His eyes were dark, demanding an answer, and while only a few seconds passed since he asked his question, she knew even that was more than enough waiting for him.
Her nerves were on fire. There were no good answer here. He forced her to burn down her bridges and throw everything she ever had into a chasm. Settling down, marrying… having Enver Gortash as a husband! The man who was actively thinking on and then building a machine that could read thoughts out from a brain! The man who left his skull shavings on Balthazar's desk!
She nearly fainted. She too often forgot what he really was. What he could be.
Her tadpole squirmed around her head, and she knew Astarion was trying to see into her thoughts again. And strangely enough, despite her thoughts just a moment ago, all she could share with him were the silly moments of yesterday, as he rested his hands beside her head and she used the cord to mimic a mustache… her own laughter and the way he pursed his lips… the way she cupped his cheeks the morning after, how he kissed her palm…
He was a monster… did that make her a monster too, for loving him?
Her eyes filled with tears. She made her decision. May the crowd hold back Astarion for long enough for Gortash to defend himself. May the Steel Watchers be swift enough to grab the Ascended Vampire, if it came to that.
May the gods forgive her.
"It's been so long since I've felt safe with someone", she whispered, her heart pounding in her ears. She lowered her right hand and touched his fingers that held the ring. "I've seen you for the first time when I was at my lowest, and you've helped me to accept myself. I owe you more than I can ever hope to repay."
She paused, and his lashes fluttered. She felt like the entire world stood still.
"Yes. My answer is yes. I'll marry you."
The relief couldn't be seen on his face, but she'd known him enough to detect it through his eyes. Something new sparkled to life in his dark gaze as he took her left hand then, and slid the ring on her middle finger.
He lifted her hand closer to himself, and kissed the ring.
Then, a second later, he rose up and forward, kissing her passionately in front of everyone present, making them cheer and clap excitedly as he wrapped her in an embrace. She smiled in the kiss as she cupped his face – but listened closely if there were any other noise. Gortash's mouth tasted like Baldur's Grape; a velvety taste with a tart finish. As Tav still felt like she'd faint, the taste made her feel nauseous, but she didn't pull away until he did.
The rest of the night passed in a blur. There were so many people who walked over to them to congratulate them on their upcoming wedding – making her face hurt from smiling so much. It was a miracle that nothing happened so far; that the crowd and especially, the two of them, were still breathing. She didn't dare to glance in Astarion's direction, and perhaps Enver knew that, because when they were left alone for a few minutes, he leaned closer to her ear to whisper in it.
"His face will stay like that if he keeps staring at us so angrily."
Tav was trying her very best not to burst out in laughter. Her lips trembled with the effort.
"Enver!" She whispered back.
"See? I can be funny."
"I never said you couldn't be."
"You thought it. I know it."
She glanced at him with a raised brow, giving him a look as if she was asking if he was serious, and he smiled back at her, snaking his arm around her waist to pull her close, to his side. He kissed her temple as he did so.
"I'm glad you said yes", he murmured in her ear.
"You've given me no choice", she huffed, making him chuckle.
"It's good that you realised that you had no choice."
"Mean." Tav resisted the urge to poke him in his side.
"No. Strategic."
"No", she raised a brow, pulling a bit away from him to look in his eyes. He looked back at her with a brow raised, unconsciously mirroring her expression before he even saw it. "Tyrant."
The smile that spread on his face at that was as bright as dawn.
"Precisely."
To her surprise, Astarion had made no attempts to get close to them, but when the crowd thinned and she stopped beside the table to pick up something to drink again, her tadpole squirmed once more. Thankful for the momentary privacy, she ignored it, then thought happy thoughts on purpose; focusing on memories with Gortash, just to make Astarion's meddling in her mind as unpleasant as possible. She smiled as she reached out for one of the bottles. It was Suzailian Sweet; the bottle was decorated with dragon-like scales, and, judging by it's name, it had to be sweet. She poured herself a glass, then inhaled it's scent before she sipped it. The very moment it touched her tongue, she grimaced and let the wine roll back in the glass from her tongue. This was just awful! It tasted foul! She sighed as she put the glass down. Why did every wine taste horrible all of a sudden?
Huffing a little, she decided to take it easy. The jug of water was always untouched at every gathering, anyway. She served herself a glass and glanced back at Gortash who was just telling a story to some nobles. She felt warmth whenever she looked at him; seeing the way he gestured and made his audience laugh made her feel particularly fuzzy.
Disgusting.
The voice in her mind was so loud that she flinched slightly. Astarion sounded like he was putting all of his efforts in that one single word, and Tav found him with her eyes as she lifted her glass to drink from the water again.
Not any less disgusting than you are.
At least I had a good reason to do what I did.
And what is your "good" reason?
After two hundred years of torment, I deserved it!
You've sacrificed seven thousand souls to get it.
And how many Gortash had sacrificed on his path to Archduke?
You want to make me believe you care about anyone but yourself? Tav scoffed. You're trying to turn me against him when you're just as evil. Pathetic.
The only pathetic one here is you, darling. You're being led by a tight leash like a prized poodle.
You'd do the same to me if you could.
I'd be so much better to you than he is.
Tav wasn't aware of how protective of Gortash she could become – until now. She wanted Astarion off their backs as soon as possible, and there was so much she could do; but Astarion's ego had always been fragile, and she knew that it was one of his biggest weaknesses. She had to strike where it hurt, where it really hurt.
You could never be as good as he is. Look at me. The dress I'm wearing is worth more than your pitiful 'palace' – oh wait, it's empty, isn't it? Because Cazador left you with nothing.
Astarion's silence was more than rewarding to hear.
You have no wealth, no followers, no friends, nothing, Astarion. All you have is words, words, words.
I'd rethink my strategy right now if I were you.
His voice couldn't get more threatening than that. Tav tilted her head slightly, her eyes narrowed at him.
Do you know what I love about him? That he's warm. I'm never feeling like I'm lying next to a corpse. He'd never, ever drew my blood, and he stops when I tell him to. He looks after my every need, and yes, he's amazing whenever we have sex. And oh, we do it so, so often!
I'm warning you, Tav-
After all you've done to me, I think I'm perfectly fine marrying him, because he's mended what you've broken: my trust in men. She continued without paying any attention to Astarion's words roaring in her mind. Do you know what will I do for him in return for all of this? I'll gladly bear his child if he wants me to.
Her tadpole painfully, frantically squirmed in her mind. Astarion said nothing, but she could physically feel his hatred, his fury. Tav was glad he had no idea of the truth.
No, children. I'll give him as many as he wants. That's another thing in the mountain of things you'd never be able to do for me. He'll live for long and he'll have heirs of his own who'd make his name even greater. His legacy will be recorded in many history books, while yours will be just a footnote in a chapter. Just as you are but a footnote in a chapter in my life's book, too.
Astarion stared at her for a few very long, intense seconds. His expression was so twisted with anger that Tav thought he might just leap through the crowd to grab her neck and snap it broken.
But then, the moment passed, and Astarion said nothing else as he turned away, yanking the poor unsuspecting girl on his side by her arm. She nearly tripped and fell, and Tav could hear the yelp even from that far away. She felt sorry for the girl, but she needed to do this to get him off her back. She finished her glass of water and glanced back at Gortash, who looked after Astarion, then back at her, as if he caught on to what was happening between them.
Her throat tightened when their eyes met, and she turned to the jug of water again to pour herself another glass. She might've made Astarion angry with what she said, she knew most of it wasn't true. This was why she didn't want to accept Enver's proposal earlier, either.
Because it was one thing she had nothing to her name, not even her Oath of Vengeance anymore.
It was another that she knew she wouldn't be able to ever give him children.

I don't know how to cope with who I've been because I've been undiagnosed my entire life.
Imagine living for more than two decades as bipolar schizoaffective and being unmedicated.
Imagine the absolute yoyo effect, being so depressed with no end in sight and no hope of ever getting better and yet still finding a way to stay alive... to not kill yourself.
Then, imagine self sabotaging every single last good thing for yourself because your mania (with psychosis) controls you to the point of mind breaks resulting in two hospitalizations.
Imagine ruining the only relationship that ever mattered. I sob as I write this, but this is the only place I feel safe enough to be myself. Not even on pen and paper can I put this into words.
My husband has been with me since I was 15. I can hardly even begin to wrap my head around how toxic, abusive, and straight up hateful I have been to that man, and all he ever did was love me unconditionally.
Before medicine, I was cunning and deceitful. I wore the face everyone wanted to see, no matter who it was. Now, after this latest mind break, the last two to three months have been a blur. I've been manic since January of this year, and I am only coming down now because of my array of medications.
It is terrifying. I am terrifying. I do not even know who I am.
Being in a constant state of disarray since literal birth (my mother assumed I was just a difficult child) and becoming an extreme people-pleaser due to her inability to cope with having an unmedicated child...
I have ruined so many friendships by being too intense.
I know everything happens for a reason, but my insanity that only grew over time...coping with the fact that all those nights I laid in bed crying myself to sleep because I didn't know why it had been years, and the depression that was so normal around ages 10-13 (that went away for everyone else) stuck with me.
Imagine slowly descending into insanity, then one day you meet this man who is everything you've ever wanted, and your entire life is changed forever. You stick with him through high school even though he goes into the Army, and eventually marry him... only to suffer from your mind literally breaking from the pressure of being bipolar schizoaffective, unmedicated, and the stresses of being a normal adult who IS NOT NORMAL.
I'm an anomaly. I should be dead by this point in time. It's a miracle I have lasted this long with my condition unmedicated for SO long. I am lucky to be alive, and my mother and I were talking just yesterday about how lucky I am to have had such a strong family. Otherwise, I truly believe I would be dead (suicide/overdose). It explains why I struggled so much at my father's house. It explains why I treated my husband as well as others around me growing up with such disdain.
Hell, I unknowingly drank enough tequila to kill me one time in high school one night because I couldn't cope any longer. I am some sort of alcoholic. I struggle to drink responsibly. I didn't actively have the intention to kill myself, but I tried once by drinking 9 shots of tequila at 9 am after being on a bender for days when my husband went to the field. This was November of 2021. Like. I actually attempted suicide. I fucking laid on the train tracks and begged god to help me before running away from my husband in utter psychosis to my closest family to get help for myself.
It's like I have lived my entire life on autopilot. Literally. Now, I've cheated on the only man who could ever love me, run away from him in another horrible bout of psychosis, been hospitalized for the second time... sure. I am doing amazing compared to where I was before. But I can promise you, if I wasn't on meds that keep me stable, I'd have killed myself. There is nothing more in this world, not one single man can ever compare to my husband. I knew that from the moment I met him. Why the fuck do you think I married his ass. It wasn't for his looks.
Don't get me wrong, my man is handsome, sexy, and downright ravishing. However, I married him because I knew in my soul he was a good soul. He had his struggles, responsibilities, and such, but no one on this Earth has ever made me feel as he does. He lights up my soul like the mania does. He makes me feel like liquid gold is seeping through my veins. I can't tell you how many times I wanted to kill myself, and I even wrote letters. Twice. But when I got to his... I just couldn't do it. It was like... he literally is the glue that has held every broken piece together for the last five years.
Imagine fucking that up. Imagine being so twisted inside, not knowing how to be an adult or even a normal human being, and giving up on medication, turning to weed (not the best for this mental illness, but it curbed the manic symptoms and eased the depression... until my mind broke that is). I'd been smoking on and off since I was 14, so I knew it helped. I did the best I could without having a proper diagnosis. With no support, in a state 3 hours from my nearest family member, yet 14 hours from my mother and brother (who are my true family) and my friends.
When SZA said, "Don't you know I did it all for us, I did it all sober, I did it all on no drugs..." I fucking feel it in my soul. I fought depression. I fought mania. I gave the fight everything I had for so long, I tried so hard that my mind literally broke (sobbing again). Twice. My mind snapped like a twig this time around. My husband... my husband doesn't deserve what I have done to him over the years.
It is selfish of me to even continue being in his life, but what else could I do? He is the reason I breathe.
Just had to vent.

first time sex anal with Andy barber 😜😉
Whew, well this took some time, to figure out , where I should go... Sorry it's late nonnie! Warnings: smut, anal play( plugs) Again, this is a first time for me to write this this kind of thing. BE NICE. Thank you!
**
It's been a long day today. Your hubs at work, and you just gotten home from your work. Its date night tonight, so you dropped off your 3 year old daughter Rose and your 1 year old Bailey at your mom's house for the night.
As you walked into the house, your phone beeped and it was from Andy. He told you, he was bringing home a pizza and bottle of wine. And to prepare for "later activities."
Since have kids, your sex life with your husband, wasn't like before. So, that's why, every Friday, you keep this day just for you and Andy.
You've tried many things with your husband. Different positions, blow jobs etc. But there's one thing you havent tried yet, and you have been afraid to do it, until now.
You stood in the bathroom with the toy in your hand, and lube on the counter. You looked at the small pear shaped thing, and sighed.
"How in the fuck, do porn stars do this?" You asked yourself.
Looking at the thing, one last time you grabbed the lube and opened the cap and sqeezed out a small dropplet of the thick liquid. Closing the cap, you placed the bottle down and let out another sigh.
“Here goes nothing...”
You bit your lips, as you felt the pressure down there. Your toes curled, and your breathing started to become heavy. It burned, as you placed more pressure going in. You needed to relax, and you kept telling yourself that you can do this. You paused for a moment, trying to get your body to calm down.
After a few minutes, the toy went in. The feeling felt weird at first, but after a few minutes it fetl nice, even if there was a weird thing up your ass. You looked at the time, and realized that Andy would be home in 10 minutes. You quickly went out the bathroom and went to grab is white dress shirt from the closet. You took off your bra, and changed your normal panties to, your sexy black lace ones and it happens to be his favorite one.
10 minutes later
You sat in the living room, watching some TV when the back door opend and closed. You turned off the tv and got up from the couch. You head Andy call for you,
“Babe, I was thinking I should-” Andy said, as you watch him look towards you, and stared. You tried to read his expression, but you couldn’t read it.
“Andy?” You asked, getting worried. You walked over to him, in the kitchen. You stopped in from of him. Your husband studied you with his eyes, His blue eyes roaming around you. You looked closely at his eyes, and soon they turned dark and lust seeped in.
Andy’s hand went to the hems of his shirt and lifted up to see that you’re wearing black panties. He let out a growl, and looked at you,
“Dinner can wait.” Andy said and scooped you up into his arms placed you onto his shoulders. You yelped, as he walked towards the bedroom, upstairs.
**
You laid on your stomach, shirt off and Andy behind you. His hands gently grazed along your smooth creamy back, placing soft kisses. His beard tickled you, making you giggle every so often. Making his way down, towards  your bottom. He noticed the toy and he smiled. His hands gently massaged your ass, giving them a firm squeeze.
“Sweetheart, are you sure about this? We can-”
“Its fine babe.” You responded. You felt the mattress move and the bathroom door open. A second later, you felt Andy spread your legs open slighly and kneeled between you. He lifted your hips, and he placed soft kisses on both of your soft cheeks.
Andy took the toy out of you and placed it to the side. Then taking the bottle, next to him. Andy ripped opend the metal packet and slid on the condom.  Putting on some of the thick cool liquid along his growing erection, Andy gave himself a few pumps. You felt him, rub his tip against your hole You swallowed as he kneeled over you. You bit your lips, as you felt the pressure of his cock, entering your tight hole.
“Are you okay baby?” Andy whispered, as he placed a kiss onto your shoulders. You nodded, and he continued.
More pressure was felt, and you let out a soft moan. Sliding into you, inch by inch. Andy laced his hands with yours and you held on to him tightly. He grunted, as he went in even more.
“I got you baby.” He whispered in your ear.
**
You laid on your side, you legs tangled with his. Your fingers laced with his and you holding on tightly. Soft thrust, as his flesh smacked into your cheeks. Andy prasied you, telling how a good girl you are, then calling you dirty things, Making you turned on even more.
You came, at least 4 times, within that hour and you still was beggingg for more. Andy played with your clit, to add on to the pleasure. His beads of sweat, mixed with yours, heavy breathing, and loud profanities lingered in the bedroom.
Your husband, rolled you onto your stomach and continued to pound into you. Your ass bounced, and he gave you a few slaps making you yelp. Then you reached down and rub yourself.
That feeling rushed over your body, as you were close. Andy knew, and felt your body starting to tense.
“I’m close-” You muttered. And with that, Andy pulled out, ripped the condom off. He rolled you into your back, spread your legs and entered your dripping core. You screamed, as his thick length stretched you fully. He placed your legs back and began to pound into you.
His hips, slapping against your flesh. Your back arched, and your orgasm took over your body. You fell back down and was catching your breath. Andy sped up his pace, Grunting and growled, pounding into your hot cunt. You felt his cock, start to pulsate, and he shot his thick, sweet hot ribbons deep into your womb. Giving you a few more thrusts, and some added goods. Andy collapsed on top of you, letting himself soften. He held you and placed kisses on your forehead, the tip of your nose and then to your lips. Pulling away, he looked into your eyes and he smiled at you.
“You alright sweetheart?” Andy asked you. You let out a giggle, and placed your hand onto his bearded cheek.
“I am, and I have to say babe That was quite good, considering our first time.” You say. Andy laughed and kissed you.
“Would you do it again?” He asked. You looked at your husband and laughed.
“Of course I would,” You say. Andy then looked over, to the nightstand and then back down at you.
“Well, we are kidless tonight...”

I know the mentions of Mark is mostly to make fun of him, but it has me wondering if you've ever thought about bringin in Madison or Emma. Unless she's under some form of inprisonment for her crimes, I thought it'd be nice to hear from Emma's side given that she worked closer with Monarch than Mark. And I only bring up Madison because I also think it'd be interesting to see the soap opera of Isla de Mara from a kid's perspective (but you could also do that with any kid from the island)
Yo Emma attempted genocide. Like. That's straight up what she did. That was full-on genocide. Every single titan she was okay with releasing was an "I'm okay with potentially every single human being in a hundred mile radius dying, along with whatever humans live in the direction it's heading next, and then on top of that all the humans that don't have the means and resources to survive seventeen simultaneous natural disasters, i.e., everyone who isn't either a millionaire or an extremely lucky crazed survival nut." I do not say this as criticism, because it makes her an excellent villain; rather, I say it to explain oh she is EXTREMELY under imprisonment. There is not the slightest little chance in hell that she's NOT under imprisonment. She is the most imprisoned person on the planet.
I do want to write some about her, though. We see very little of what led her to her terrorist buddies, but somewhere in her character is a very believable, very sad, very infuriating story about how an average humdrum white woman ended up spiraling into grotesque ecofascist extremism due to a combination of grief, isolation from people with more rational viewpoints, and a lack of people checking up on what the fuck's been going through her head since her son died and her husband went off the rails. So yeah, I would like to explore her character—see if maybe she can realize what she's become, see how the people who love her process what she's become.
It's just that if it happens, it's gonna be in one of those prison meeting rooms where the convict and the visitor are talking on phones from either side of a plexiglass wall. Or during some kind of "oh no! we've got a manufactured crisis on our hands that ONLY somebody with Dr. Emma Russell's EXACT skills can help solve, let's bring her in with handcuffs and four armed guards" plotline. And I've got no plans for any such thing right now. Exploring Emma's perspective is something that would be neat, but it's not currently a goal.
Madison's also someone I want to bring in—and doing so would be a lot easier than Emma—but it would be a challenge to get her in on any sort of main plot (so it would mainly be a "humans react to titans" fic rather than one of the fics that advance the story) AND it would probably not be done in a way that I think most readers would be expecting/hoping for.
Because like, most people have been characterizing post-movie Madison as spunky sassy energetic child all gung-ho to hang out with her new extended titan family. But like, look at what happened to her in the movie, and this is a child who:
1) got hauled along on a plan to cause the apocalypse
2) saw her mother unleashing Rodan on a civilian population
3) saw her mother unleashing Ghidorah on her father
4) watched a bunch of terrorists murder, like, a whole lot of people, including a lot of people she personally knew because they worked with her mom—like she was walking between corpses and everything
5) thought the titans were going to destroy the entire planet and felt personally responsible for stopping it
6) was nearly murdered—deliberately and knowingly—by Ghidorah
7) probably thought that she was gonna get accidentally stepped on by Godzilla or Ghidorah; had to physically run away from them in a hurricane by herself
8) had Rodan and Mothra crashing all around her while she tried to get into her childhood home
9) sank to the ground with her hands over her ears shrieking in helpless terror because she could die at any second and there was absolutely nothing left she could do to stop it
10) at some point had her entire goddamn house come down on her and she almost drowned in the bath tub, which means either Rodan or Mothra actually DID crash into her house while she was inside it.
But she yelled at Ghidorah when he yelled at her, so she's a spitfire that can bounce back from anything, right?
When/if Madison comes into the story again, it's not going to be as excited Designated Human Friend To The Titans. (Along with all of the above, it also wouldn't make sense for her dad to haul her along with him to work, considering all the shit that happened when Emma did that.) It's going to be as a child who went through a dozen traumatic experiences in one night, from multiple personal threats to her life to multiple threats to the lives of those she loves to multiple threats to the global life of the planet. This is a child whose dad keeps trying to stop her from obsessively tracking the news to see if any titans are acting up again and who jumps every time the big a/c unit outside rumbles on because it sounds like the distant footstep of a 400-foot-tall monster.
Madison is strong and is resilient, but you don't sink to the floor screaming like that without coming away with at the least some psychological bruises, but more likely scars. And it's only been a few weeks since all that happened.
So when she checks the news out of Isla de Mara, it's not from the perspective of a kid seeing what strange activities these big interesting animals are up to. It's from the perspective of a near murder victim tracking the location of her attempted murderer. She stared dead into Ghidorah's eye seconds before he attempted to kill her. That's what she's thinking about when she sees him.
Isla de Mara has decided Rodan’s off the hook for blowing half their town away because he was only responding in self-defense to an unprovoked attack by the U.S. Air Force; plus they know that Rodan is, apparently, capable of beating Ghidorah in a fight if need be; plus they get treated to lovely views like Ghidorah going into full Hissing Cobra Mode at a piece of threatening-looking driftwood; so they’re more willing to look favorably at Rodan, and they’ll barely give Ghidorah a chance to prove he won’t be a douchenozzle.

Growing Up Gupta
Technology has allowed cultures from around the world to interact and learn more about each other. Multicultural lessons are included in school classrooms to help students understand how people live in other parts of the world. As a parent, you can teach your child about the importance of appreciating our similarities and differences by incorporating multicultural activities into your home. Here are a few ideas that will help your children understand the similarities and differences between your household and others around the world.
Festivals
Most cities hold several festivals throughout the year, and these often include crafts, food and dances from other countries. Take your family to a local festival to see what you can learn about another culture. Go to a powwow so your children can experience Native American crafts, music and dances. Celebrate Cinco de Mayo by going to your town’s parade and enjoying the colorful music and delicious food. Explain to your children why each event is important in its native culture, and then discuss how it is similar and different to your own celebrations.
Lessons
You can easily incorporate multicultural activities into your child’s music lessons. If your child plays the violin, have him learn some songs that are popular in other countries. Incorporate traditional songs from multiple cultures from around the world into your child’s piano lessons, and take the time to explain the importance and meaning of the song. You can even sign up for lessons on the Internet so that your child can learn the beautiful art of Japanese Taiko drumming.
Books
Each time you visit the bookstore, include a few multicultural books in your purchase. By reading about different cultures, your family can learn about how families live in other countries. You can then incorporate some of the food, music, games and activities into your family time on the weekends.
Teaching Respect
As you go through your multicultural lessons, emphasize the importance of respecting the differences between the cultures. While some of the practices of another culture may be surprising to your family, they should learn to accept and appreciate those differences. By showing this kindness and respect, your family will be teaching others to do the same.
By incorporating multicultural activities into your home, your family will become well-rounded and thoughtful citizens. You will be able to work together to spread your appreciation of other cultures so that the world becomes a better, friendlier place.
About Us
The family name Gupta गुप्ता is one in all the foremost current within the Indiancommunity. It’s a family name that I even have become aware of owning for the last 10 years of my life. I might say it’s one that I even have fully grown to like. Hence, this web site Growing up Gupta was birthed. Growing up Gupta was created as a way for my husband and me to speak concerning our distinctive family. It’s not each day that you simply hear of a Black woman marrying associate Indian man (whose oldsters are originally from Northern India). However, we’ve been blissfully married for eleven years and have one kid (Amaya) who is currently 5 years by age.

Interracial Dating Vs Interracial Marriage
A person you've been dating ends the relationship because they're not interested in marrying interracially. How many of you out there have experienced this? Yes, interracial dating is definitely on the rise and is generally much more accepted today. Society is more tolerant of non-traditional couples and, as a result, a lot more people are willing to give interracial dating a try but that doesn't necessarily mean they're willing to take the big plunge. Why would somebody date interracially but not want to marry interracially? On the surface it smacks of every negative racial stereotype you’ve ever heard of, right? Good enough to sleep with but not good enough to make a wife etc. Sexual curiosity… the bane of interracial dating. That might be the situation with some but there’s something else to consider as well. There are a lot of people, men and women, who just don’t want to deal with the cultural challenges of an interracial marriage. Dating is a different story. You can end a dating situation if things get too complicated because of racial differences but that’s not really an option for marriage. Once you take the vows, as in any marriage, you’re tied to that person and ending it can be messy. Plus, it would be hard for a judge to consider racial issues as “irreconcilable” differences. That’s why a lot people are wiling to date but not marry interracially. Now, when you take a step back and really think about it… can you blame them? Normally, it’s a good thing when people are willing to take some time to think about what they could and couldn’t deal with in a marriage and we often encourage our friends to date different people to find out what those things are. So, why can’t racial issues be included in that basket of other things that you should consider? If it’s okay for a person to walk away from a dating situation because they don’t like the other person’s personality quirks shouldn’t it also be okay for someone to walk away if they think that an interracial relationship is too much trouble for them? It’s not really a waste of anyone’s time to date even if they’re unsure about how they’d feel about marriage. If people only dated because they were marriage-minded, there would be a lot of empty restaurants on Friday and Saturday nights. A person can genuinely be attracted to you, and for all the right reasons, but realize that the stares in public make them too uncomfortable. And, yes, it’s okay for you to be disappointed in them for not being strong enough to endure that sort of thing for the sake of being with you but, ultimately, if they’re not willing to try you shouldn’t force them. Otherwise, your relationship will not be based on the right kind of foundation. And you should definitely want to know that before going into it. If you can see that your mate may not be able to deal with the challenges of an interracial marriage don’t wear blinders. Now, whether or not you’re willing to go out with someone who makes it known upfront that they’re not interested in marrying interracially is a completely different story. Obviously, it depends on what you’re looking for and how mature you are. That’s kind of like going out with someone who doesn’t want kids though when you have a five-year old at home. But then again, if you’re just dating to date and not to prescreen people for marriage then maybe that’s something you’re okay with. We’re not suggesting that you should or shouldn’t go out with people who wouldn’t marry interracially. We’re just examining what some of the motivations might be. Ultimately, it’s up to you to figure out if you’re willing to go out with someone who isn’t interested in marriage… whether it’s due to race or not.
Multicultural and Fusion Weddings
It is becoming increasingly more common for couples of mixed background and ancestries to marry. Hence, we have more demand for fusion wedding ideas or creative ways to have a multicultural wedding. At any multicultural wedding each family's traditions are both wonderful in themselves and important. Therefore, it is important to incorporate both cultures and not to neglect one culture while spotlighting the other. There are little ways to put special cultural touches to the wedding, including in such aspects as wedding favors, food, décor and entertainment. Even if the couple themselves don't have strong ties to their individual cultures, it is often important to consider the feelings of the family members. Thus, we have fusion weddings that incorporate modern tastes of young couples and traditional facets that parents and family desire. One of the easiest ways to approach a multicultural wedding is to let one culture dominate the ceremony and the other the reception. Often the wedding ceremony takes place in the pride of the bride’s cultural and the wedding reception follows the traditions of the groom’s culture. The wedding reception can have traditional food, entertainment, and toasts to honor the cultural background. The incorporation of two cultures is not only common for multicultural weddings, but also for fusion weddings. Many modern Asian American couples will have a traditional Asian wedding ceremony in traditional Asian wedding attire and then the wedding reception is usually a modern traditional American wedding reception. As the wedding ceremony is of a spiritual nature for most cultures, it is often important to include the wedding attire, vows, music, décor and procedures of both the bride and groom as closely as possible into the ceremony. It is common to hold two ceremonies when the two cultures are extremely different. Couples often like to take separate religious vows at each of their given religious houses. Multicultural weddings are often elaborate and last several days in order to incorporate both cultures and events. More simple events will hold one ceremony in the morning and the second in the afternoon, then transition into the reception in the evening. Although, this can be tiring, with good planning it can be a beautiful day. There are also innumerable ways to include both cultures at a wedding without lapsing into a multiple days wedding. One way is to have the bride and groom wear the traditional attire of one heritage, while proceeding down the aisle to traditional music of the other. Another take is to have the bride and groom dress according to each other’s cultural heritage. This will symbolize their total willingness to embrace one another’s traditions. Another nice touch is to give out a little wedding favor at the ceremony to symbolize one culture and another wedding favor at the reception to symbolize the other culture. There are also many simple ways to blend cultures at the wedding reception. A buffet style dinner with two stations serving the food from both traditions will make all your wedding guests happy. Have the traditional wedding cake decorated to reflect the bride’s culture and have a groom’s cake to reflect the groom’s culture. Skilful cake decorator’s can make amazing creations with cake. Entertainment is another easy way to reflect your heritage at your wedding. Mix up the music and entertainment to suit both traditions. Play music from both cultures or bring entertainment and performers from both cultures. A cute idea is to start the first dance slow with music from one culture, often a traditional American wedding song, then transition into a an upbeat ethnic song that the bride and groom can dance to. Invite everyone to the dance floor to try the ethnic dance as well. It can be a lot of fun to teach your guests a new dance.Another very important part of weddings are the wedding favors. Make sure to give out wedding favors from both cultures or mix it up. For example, at a fusion wedding give out truffles or all American M&M’s in a traditional Asian takeout favor box. Wedding favors are one of the most creative ways to express yourselves and show gratitude to your guests, so make sure to be creative and symbolic with the multicultural wedding favors.Wedding decorations are also a big aspect of fusion or multicultural weddings. Ethnic events are usually colorful. Indian weddings have bold colors, lots of music and dancing. Thus incorporating bright colors, and ethnic Indian decorations such as paisley patterns, silk table cloths, and using a theme like peacocks or elephants would be great for a South Asian mixed wedding. Other couples of Asian heritage will incorporate elements of the orient into their western white wedding. Flowers such as orchids and cherry blossoms may be used to bring in an Asian touch. So, use decorations from your ethnic origin to create a fusion or multicultural wedding. The mix of tradition with modern ideas creates a beautiful vision.Multicultural and fusion weddings are on the rise. There is an increasing need to find thoughtful ways to blend two cultures so that wedding guests can cherish and enjoy the special day. Don’t be afraid to draw bold aspects of your culture to your wedding. It only makes the entire event more intriguing and beautiful.
