heyy!! can you do a dbf bucky caught masturbating? only if u wanna obv~!
No honestly bc the thought of a man masturbating is way too hot, it makes me so weak 🥵
I've probably talked about this before but it's delightful to imagine him staying over in the guest room of your house for a while and when he thinks the house is empty, he's taking some time for ✨self care✨, not knowing that you're still home.
I always imagine he's so vocal too so when he thinks he can be as loud as he wants, he doesn't hold back.
He's surprised at how badly he needs this, taking his time at first with just a few leisurely strokes. He's rock hard in no time, his hand wrapped around his own length, doing everything he can not to think about you.
Fuck, it would be so wrong to think about you. He knows it would. It's wrong to think about kissing up your bare legs or sucking bruises over your collarbones. It's wrong to imagine how you'd look on your knees for him, begging him to finish on your face.
No matter what he does, that's all his brain wants to come back to. He can almost hear how sweet your little moans would be when he rubs your clit.
You'd be such a good girl for him. He knows that and he loves it.
There's no harm in letting himself give in a little. As he gets hornier, precum drips from his tip and he's only focused on imagining how gorgeous you'd look beneath him, lost in pleasure the way he is.
He hadn't even considered that you might still be home. As far as he knew, you were planning to go out with your parents so he was safe to groan your name the way he wanted to.
Heat pools between your legs at the sight of him on the bed in front of you. The guest room door hadn't been pulled shut completely and when curiosity got the better of you, you were beyond surprised to see Bucky laid out on the bed, stroking his own cock and whining your name.
"Such a good fucking girl for me." His voice was loud enough that you could hear every word.
His hand moved faster, soft breathy moans tumbling from his lips and hanging in the air.
Your panties were soaked. Rational thought had all but left you. Pure need buzzed in the pit of your stomach and there was no doubt in your mind that you'd summon this image of Bucky every single time you felt like touching yourself for at least the next 3 months.
The decision seemed to come naturally to you and before you'd really thought about it, you'd pressed the door open and stepped inside, settling on the end of the bed.
Bucky sounded startled. Understandably. His cheeks were flushed, desperately trying to cover himself and make apologies at the same time.
"Bucky, please." You almost sounded timid while you prized the blanket from his grasp. "Can I taste you?"
He swore he had to be dreaming. This couldn't be real. You weren't actually asking that right after he'd spent so long imagining it. Is this how manifesting works?
"Are you sure?" He asked, not missing the way his dick throbbed when you nodded enthusiastically.
Bucky pulled the blanket back, grasping his dick again, stroking slowly. He swore he'd never forget the sight of your tongue pressed to the tip of his cock, looking up at him before you swirled your tongue around the head, gathering as much precum as you could.
"Oh fuck, that's it. Such a good girl for me, holy shit." He's lost in the feeling and he couldn't tear his eyes away from you, even if he wanted to.
Your lips wrap around his tip, sucking gently while he continues to stroke himself and he swears he's going to lose it. You hum your approval at a fresh bead of precum gathering over his tip but it's not there very long before you've licked that up too.
He forces himself not to imagine how pretty you'd look with your tongue or your face painted with his cum because if he does, this is over. He's determined to make that a reality but not just yet.

BE MY VALENTINE — MINSUNG.
pairing: minho x jisung genre: smut, NSFW, friends to lovers warnings: dom!minho, sub!jisung, jisung has gay panick, oral (m. receiving), bratty jisung, cum swallowing a/n: it’s part of my valentine’s collab! the way word count keeps increasing with every work…
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
what is the definition of friendship? when does the line between friendship and relationship cross?
jisung felt unease; his emotions couldn’t sit right with him and were about to reach the peak. how could he remain calm, when minho kept giving him forehead kisses when he was asleep?
the two of them have been best friends for so long. everyone even called them “chopsticks”, because they were always together. sleepovers were a common thing between them, along with cuddling, sharing clothes and other normal things. all friends do that, right? jisung wasn’t so sure about it anymore.
when minho suggested to rent a room at a spa hotel for february 14th, jisung almost had a heart attack. was it supposed to be a date? a romantic date? an actual romantic evening?
best friends usually go to a spa hotel for entire valentine’s day, just to spend time together, right?
even if he was weirded out a little, he couldn’t say no, since minho was paying for it. at least that’s what he told himself.
“it’s quite nice, actually. look, they even gave us towels and soaps.” minho said as they entered their hotel room.
jisung followed him in, noticing something in the middle of the room only a moment later. something he certainly hadn’t expected.
“one bed?!” he exclaimed.
“ah, yes. i think they confused us for a couple.” minho explained in the most calm manner.
“confused us… for a couple?” jisung raised an eyebrow. that sounded weird.
“yeah, i think so. i wouldn’t book a room with only one bed, c’mon.” minho chuckled as he opened the curtains.
the view was breathtaking. the sun had already set, so the entire skyline of soul could be seen in full view. billboard lights flashed in the distance, people hurried somewhere like ants, and the stars were shining bright in the sky.
“wow…” jisung immediately forgot about the bed and came up, pressing his face against the window. his cheeks pressed absurdly against the glass. he reminded minho of some little animal looking at everything with big eyes.
“aghm-“ minho cleared his throat, finally switching his gaze off jisung. “let’s go to the sauna then, shall we?”
“we even have a sauna included?!” jisung couldn't contain his delight.
“of course. i booked everything they had listed.” minho said proudly, picking up the t-shirt and shorts provided by the hotel. “alright, ima go change.”
he disappeared in the bathroom, leaving jisung with his cheeks still flattened against the glass.
the whole jjimjilbang experience included relaxing in a hot tub, trying several saunas and getting a massage later. once you were done, you could order a cold drink and some dishes in your room and spent the night there.
that’s when jisung realized he had one problem approaching. the dress code in jjimjilbang was a little different from a public pool — you wear nothing at all.
the realization made him gulp. of course he has seen minho’s naked body before, but only for a split second. jisung always turned away, being scared to be seen as a creep. but even after seeing minho’s body for half a second the images of his broad chest and muscular shoulder couldn’t leave jisung’s mind. it was as if it had been imprinted there forever. was he ready to spend whole day with naked minho by his side? what if he just gets hard in front of him? what if minho sees him get hard? what if-
minho loudly closed the door awakening jisung from his panic mode. it was his turn to change clothes now. on wobbly legs, he went to the bathroom, his thoughts kept returning to the possible hard-on.
after both of them were finally in proper clothes, boys left the room. the bathing area was huge indeed, but first they needed to take a shower. jisung quickly washed up in order to avoid standing next to a naked minho rubbing his muscular shoulders. he knew he won’t be able to look away.
jisung chose to sit in a hot tub first, since it had a lot of bubbles and could cover the groin area pretty well. the water was so warm and relaxing. jisung even leaned his head on the edge, closing his eyes in pleasure.
“ah, so warm.” minho exhaled, finally joining jisung in the tub and sitting right next to him.
jisung shivered at the sudden skin contact. why did minho sit so close to him? like impossibly close, so their shoulders were touching. was this even appropriate to sit that close to each other while being fully naked?
jisung tried to ignore that thought, shutting his eyes harder to avoid accidentally staring at minho. moreover, he tried to think of something disgusting or scary, so that his dick wouldn’t get hard.
after half hour minho finally showed signs of life. “wanna move to the sauna?”
his voice sounded so soft and quiet, jisung felt his heart melting.
“sure.”
“alright, let’s go.” minho’s hand then found jisung’s hip underwater, leaning on it for support. digging his fingers into jisung’s skin and grunting like a grandfather, minho stood up, revealing his dick to everyone nearby. but none of the people cared. none, except jisung.
he was in such awe from minho’s hand movement that he forgot to close his eyes. but it was too late. now minho's cock was just at his face level. he was big… and thick as jisung imagined. not like he was thinking of minho’s dick all the time, but he had some thoughts about how his friend’s dick would look like. if only he could lean in slightly and lick the tip with his tongue and then-
“going?” minho asked with a note of confusion.
jisung joilted. he really hoped he wasn’t staring between minho’s legs this whole time.
“you can go. i’ll be there in a bit.” jisung answered through heavy breaths. now his dick was rock hard and the stimulation, although small, from the hot tub, did not help his desperate situation at all.
minho gave him a last questioning look, but exited the hot tub. the whole plan was going down the drain. everything was falling apart and jisung’s fears were becoming a reality. he was sitting with a rock hard dick in a public hot tub because he saw his best friend's cock. was it even normal?
it made him dizzy, but jisung had no other option than to start thinking of all disgusting things that happened to him. when he threw up on himself, or when he had to clean up his dog’s poops out of the carpet and pick out each piece individually… yeah, it worked. in a matter of twenty minutes, jisung managed to fully get rid of a hard-on and finally left the hot tub.
sauna was definitely a better choice right now, since jisung could come up with an excuse to cover up his crotch area. minho would probably give him another questioning look, but jisung didn’t care anymore. it would still be better than thinking of disgusting things again instead of relaxing and enjoying the evening.
jisung managed to wrap a towel around his hips and entered the sauna. it’s been a long time since he visited places like this. the familiar feeling of warmth surrounded his body. he was about to relax so good. thankfully he won’t have to worry about getting hard anymore.
minho saved a place for him on the bench, so jisung had no other choice than to sit next to him. but even when jisung tried to look away, out of the corner of his eye he noticed how minho sat: slightly slouched, legs wide. to make room for it, obviously. or to show it off. although nothing in his face betrayed anything smug or arrogant. his eyes were closed, as if he was asleep.
they sat in silence for a while, enjoying the warmth of the sauna. jisung still avoided looking at his friend, trying to forget the hot tub incident.
the next half hour passed smoothly and they decided to go to massage. but even when they were taking another shower jisung avoided looking at minho even for a second again. he became so anxious and was struggling with himself and his sudden feelings.
fortunately, the massage was an individual experience, and they didn’t have to be in the same room. after being on edge for a long time, jisung was finally able to truly relax and enjoy a massage.
even though his mind was still full of questions about why he had such intense reactions after seeing minho’s bare body. until today, jisung had never given much thought to it. sure, maybe he thought once or twice about how fit minho was. and yes, maybe sometimes the fact that minho seemed like an attractive guy crossed jisung’s mind. and jisung supposed he couldn't ignore the electric tingle that ran down his spine last week when minho had brushed his lips against his forehead, thinking he was asleep. but just because jisung considered what it might be like to date minho didn't mean they could actually date each other. terror, desire, confusion and curiosity all battled it out inside jisung’s stomach. it was only because jisung had never seen minho’s dick before. it was not like he had a crush on his best friend, right?
“do you want haejangguk as usual?” minho asked, looking through the menu.
they were back in the hotel room. jisung was so drained and sleepy, he immediately crawled under the sheets and was about to pass out. the massage took the last bits of his energy.
“mhm.” he answered. he was too lazy to even move his lips.
“okayyy, i’ll have fried chicken then.”
minho called the reception and made an order for the room service. but when he finished the call and turned around, he found jisung sleeping with his head almost completely hidden under the covers.
minho felt his heart trembling. why did jisung have to be so freaking cute? lying on the side, he had one cheek squished by the pillow, while the other was looking so round and chubby.
unable to resist the urge, minho climbed closer to jisung on the bed and laid down, staring at the sleepy expression on his friend’s face.
jisung swore he didn’t notice how he fell asleep, but what minho did next woke him up in a second. another forehead kiss. jisung knew he hadn’t imagined it and now he had all the evidence, as he was fully awake. minho didn’t stop on one, he gave jisung another and then another kiss on the forehead. his lips felt so soft.
jisung started smiling under the covers. a familiar warmth filled his chest, heading somewhere down into the groin area. he genuinely did not want to show that he was awake. he just wanted the kisses to last forever.
but the desire to catch minho red-handed was stronger.
“what are you doing, hyung?”
minho could have sworn his heart almost jumped out of his chest. he cursed, immediately pulling away.
“i thought you were asleep.” in the blink of an eye, minho was already lying on the other side of the bed as if nothing had happened.
jisung stared at minho in disbelief, thinking of how he should approach this conversation. he couldn't understand why minho shunned him so much, why he didn't want to admit his own actions.
but just as jisung was about to finally confront minho, a knock on the door disturbed him.
“oh! room service!” minho abruptly sat up on the bed.
fuck.
this is what you call a bad timing.
minho welcomed the service lady in, letting her to put all the plates on the table and leave shorty after.
“food is here. come eat.” minho did not even give jisung a glare as he continued to arrange the plates.
“not until we talk.” jisung puffed out his cheeks in displeasure. even though he looked like an offended child right now, he needed to get an answer from minho in any way.
minho was silent for a while, but after realizing that jisung was not joking, he gave up, sitting on the edge of the bed.
“fine. what do you wanna talk about?”
“i dunno. everything?!” jisung threw his hands up in annoyance. “your weird behavior whole day? your accidental booking of a couple’s room? your constant forehead kisses, when i’m asleep?”
jisung didn't notice how angry he got. he didn't plan on yelling at minho, he didn't want to start a fight with him. it just happened.
“if you're so worried about it, i actually accidentally booked a room with one bed. when i noticed, it was too late to cancel the reservation.” minho’s words were sharp. “besides, we often sleep in the same bed, so i didn't think much of it. and... my weird behavior? or maybe it’s yours? because i’m not staring at your dick like a horny bitch whole day.”
jisung was so stunned that he started opening and closing his mouth like a fish. he did not expect that instead of repentance, minho would go on the attack.
“how can i not stare at your dick when it’s right in front of my face?!”
“just don’t look at it?!”
“then don’t shove it in my face!”
“i don’t shove it in your face!”
“you literally did in a hot tub!”
“i had to stand up somehow?!”
“and chose to wiggle it in front of my mouth!”
“i didn’t! gosh… if i really wanted to fuck your face i would have already done it!”
“so you don’t want to?!”
“i didn’t say that!”
both of them suddenly paused. how did the conversation turn into this? none of them had an answer to that.
it wasn’t long before minho was right on top of jisung, holding his hips down and kissing him hungrily. practically spit on spit, purposefully as sloppy as possible, they kept devouring each other’s mouths. the desperate hunger for one another that had been hidden deep inside them for so long finally bursted out.
the slurping noises were filthy, but neither of them seemed to care. instead jisung tightened his arms around minho’s neck and threaded his fingers through his hair. it was a mix of passion and anger from the fighting before. jisung took minho’s tongue into his mouth, sucking on it like he would suck him off.
jisung’s dick grew embarrassingly fast, causing him to wiggle his hips under minho’s body. why was he so easily turned on?
“you are so cute when you are flustered…” minho pulled away, looking at jisung intently. a string of saliva still connected their lips. one hand brushed a stand of hair out of his face, while the other gripped his waist.
jisung didn’t respond, only blushed even more. his puffy cheeks were completely red. he melted just like that, becoming completely malleable in minho’s arms. he was trying so hard to avoid intense eye contact, but it was hard to do so, considering that minho was pressing his whole body against him.
pleased with the reaction, minho grinned and moved to kiss jisung’s neck, leaving bites and sucking at any piece of skin he could see. biting became even harder when he heard a series of desperate moans from jisung. he then spread jisung’s legs apart with his knee, resting comfortably right between them.
“fuck-“ jisung whimpered, thoughts getting hazy each second.
to think that he would end up being crushed against the bed by his best friend, while being kissed and toyed with… he started grinding his hips against minho, bucking them up. he quickly got more and more desperate, reaching his climax just by dry humping.
“gosh… you are so loud.” minho wanted to sound annoyed, but he couldn’t hide his cheeky smile. having jisung like this, grinding his hips against him, was the best reward he could get.
“then why don’t you shut my mouth with your cock?” jisung suddenly said, immediately regretting his words. he did not want to sound so eager for minho’s dick.
the smile dropped so fast from minho’s face and got replaced by a devilish smirk. “you think you can handle it?”
oh lord. jisung shut hit eyes. he couldn’t bear with minho looking at him like that. he was practically undressing him with his eyes, while his thumb traced over jisung’s bottom lip.
“i can. i can handle it.” jisung nodded multiple times. no, he definitely sounded eager for minho’s dick now.
minho gave jisung a final warning look and lifted himself up, settling with his back pressed against the headboard. he stripped his clothes quickly, they went flying across the room. the act itself got jisung gulp hardly, wanting to undress as fast as possible too.
his gaze caught on minho, naked and beautiful, leaning casually against the headboard as his eyes leisurely traveled over jisung’s body. minho’s cock was hard, long and already leaking, making jisung’s mouth watery.
he then scooted a bit closer to minho, leaning in for a kiss again. minho responded just as passionately, his hands tangled in jisung’s hair and his hips bucked up in search of contact.
jisung thought he could probably spend hours just kissing minho, but that wasn't what he wanted now, when the sight of dripping dick was just beneath him. he pressed one last kiss on minho’s lips before kneeling down.
he ran his hands up minho’s thighs and then took that thick cock in his hands. the feel of his cock alone made jisung impatient. it was so warm and the skin felt so silky soft.
but before taking it into his mouth, he shot minho an inquiring look only to find him with his head thrown back. reading that as a sign to do whatever he wants, jisung tightened his grip on the cock.
“oh fucking shit…” minho groaned. a throaty sound had heat shooting right up jisung’s groin.
precum was pearled at the tip, and jisung licked it off slowly, savouring the taste of minho on his tongue.
“oh, oh fuck!” minho whimpered, looking down.
jisung smiled and did it again. he was ready to put on that show for him, never breaking the eye contact and taking minho as slow as possible.
he wanted to touch him everywhere, wanted to know how every inch of minho’s dick felt on his tongue. minho tasted so sweet, and jisung couldn't get enough of him. following the pace, jisung licked the tip again, alternating between kitten licks and fully taking the tip into his mouth.
minho’s hips trembled, the muscles on his thighs tensed under jisung’s palms as he moved his hips up towards jisung’s face.
“you're- ah- good at that- just- go a bit faster-“ minho gasped out. he restrained himself this whole time from grabbing jisung by the hair and pushing him down his cock. but he was slowly losing his patience.
“make me.” jisung hummed, shivering at the thought of what was about to happen next.
minho opened one eye to make sure jisung wasn’t joking. oh well, the cocky smile on his face confirmed so.
if jisung wanted to receive a full face fucking experience… how could minho say no?
his hand then grabbed on jisung’s hair, interlocking his fingers tightly, and pushed him down the length with all force. even thought jisung was fully prepared for that, he still nearly choked on the dick.
minho began to fuck jisung’s mouth, while continuing to hold the hair tightly. the slick sounds of his own cock sliding in and out mixed with the wet sound of jisung’s mouth.
when jisung got used to the speed, he took hold of the base of the dick with one hand, sliding it on the thickening shaft. he hollowed his cheeks around minho’s huge cock, trying to be so good for him. he wanted to be used like a toy — wanted minho take as much of him as he desired.
jisung caught himself on a thought of how much he was enjoying this. on his knees, in nothing but his underwear, his face in minho’s groin and mouth full of dick. couldn’t be any better.
minho was so hard and dripping from jisung working him up. the sounds jisung’s mouth was making... it was all so filthy and dirty, but he couldn't get enough. he wanted, needed to hear more of that.
as jisung curled his tongue one more time and began moving his head at impossible speed, minho felt his orgasm approaching.
“fuck!” he whined. the grip on the hair tightened, and he came inside jisung’s mouth. jisung continued licking him through orgasm, not letting even a single drop of cum to waste.
as minho finished, both his arms encircled jisung’s cheeks and he left a kiss on his forehead, brushing away his sweaty bangs.
“did so well for me, jagi.” minho cooed, and jisung blushed at the praise. he ran his thumb over jisung’s lips, looking at him in awe. “you swallowed it all?”
jisung nodded and minho groaned again. “fuck- that’s hot. you’re so hot.”
jisung couldn’t help, but blush even more. they’ve been messing around for far too long, and jisung has been hard this whole time. he was desperate for minho to fuck him, suck him off or just do anything to his body at this point.
but as soon as jisung was about to beg for a touch, minho looked somewhere behind him, the look on his face immediately changed.
“the food is cold now, by the way. told you we have to eat first.” the usual grumpy minho was back. it was adorable how quickly his mood could change.
“well… im still hard. you can try to satisfy your hunger with my cum, if you want.” jisung leaned closer to minho’s face.
the way jisung was so bold with his words left minho speechless. he was not surprised he was hard again so soon.
“you offering?” he grinned, capturing their lips back together.

Glass Igloo Holidays for a Romantic Couples Trip with a Twist
Tumblr media
Booking a holiday to Finnish Lapland and staying in a glass igloo is a wonderful experience and one that many couples choose to commemorate milestones and occasions, whether a wedding, honeymoon or another celebration they’d like to mark with a special holiday.
Arctic glass houses and igloos are a once-in-a-lifetime way to view the Northern Lights, fitted with amenities such as a hot tub, ice bar, and private sauna to help you wind down and relax amid some of the most astonishing scenery and landscapes in the world.
There are numerous glass igloo hotels and resorts to choose between, ranging from the Iisakki Glass Village to the Jeris Aurora Domes, the Pyhän Asteli Aurora Igloos and the Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort, where visitors can stay in newly built Kelo Glass igloos.
Let’s look at some of the destinations to consider for your trip to the Arctic, the types of accommodation available, and how a heated glass igloo provides a unique way to view the phenomenon that can only be seen in the Northern sky during the winter months.
What to Expect From a Glass Igloo Holiday
A modern, luxury glass igloo resort is a world away from the idea of a chilly, snowy igloo exposed to sub-zero temperatures and the sharp Arctic air that accompanies each snowstorm!
Depending on your preferred destination within the Aurora Zone and whether you’d like to stay in comfortable glass igloos within a resort or a glass igloo hotel, you will find:
Beautifully warm igloos complete with kitchenettes featuring essentials like an electric kettle and fireplaces where you can unwind with a thermal glass roof for that amazing view of the night sky.
Glass igloo packages that include an exclusive use log cabin with a glazed dome situated at one end with cosy blankets, seating and dining spaces.
Ice hotels with a stone fireplace in each room, or glass igloos and luxury round-shaped tents or yurts available to guests, complete with an outdoor heated jacuzzi.
While the winter months are ideal for Northern Lights guided tours, guests also visit Lapland during the ‘midnight sun’ period in the warmer summer. At this time of the year, the sun almost never sets, making it a superb time to experience summer glass igloo functions and spot some of the rarest species in the Arctic Circle that hibernate over the winter.
Glass igloos are permanently insulated and warm, using innovative thermal glass, allowing you to enjoy a romantic, secluded trip to this remarkable part of the world for a honeymoon, anniversary, engagement or other occasion at any time.
If you are looking for a holiday during the Northern Lights season that offers something extraordinary, we’d also suggest looking into a snow castle, a feat of engineering that provides winter holidays like no other!
Making Your Glass Igloo Holiday Extra-Special
Staying in a glass igloo is a brilliant experience, with contemporary igloo hotels providing private accommodation with a laser-heated glass roof to ensure you feel warm and comfy inside yet have a radiant view of the Northern Lights, the Arctic wilderness around you and the stars overhead.
The Lake Inari adults-only Nangu Wilderness Resort is perfect for engagements and honeymoons. An alternative resort in Ranua, close to Ranua Arctic Wildlife Park, is another location where visitors can see an array of spectacular wildlife, from polar bears to arctic wolves and moose.
If you are planning a glass igloo tour as part of a memorable occasion, we can recommend a huge array of finishing touches, including:
Private meals prepared by a chef in an ice restaurant, accompanied, of course, by a bottle of perfectly chilled champagne or cocktails served in an ice bar.
Guided tours and excursions, such as ice fishing, visiting a Northern Lights ranch, a reindeer farm visit and a trip to a snow sauna.
Rustic Aurora cabins far from the light pollution, with an insulated glass dome positioned over your sleeping quarters or with a glass-walled sauna outside to make the most of your surroundings.
Guests can also consider a number of incredible accommodations. Many couples opt for a traditional Finnish log cottage complete with an outdoor hot tub or stay in a charming Arctic Snowhotel, with the convenience of an Aurora alarm service to ensure they get the first glimpse of the Northern Lights as they emerge.
Whatever your perfect glass igloo holiday looks like, our travel consultants can create a bespoke itinerary to make your holiday unforgettable. You will find full details of each glass igloo package or tours published online, or are welcome to contact us to discuss your requirements.
Glass Igloo Village and Ice Hotel Holiday Destinations
As experts in Northern Lights travel and organising unusual, charming, and traditional accommodations, the Baltic Travel Company can recommend an array of stunning destinations from which to select. Some of the best places to stay in an ice hotel or modern, insulated glass igloo include:
Finnish Lapland, to the far north of the country close to reindeer farms and Lake Inari.
Northern Norway, with glass igloo resorts based amid vast snowscapes.
Swedish Lapland, offering popular resorts to the north of the Arctic Circle.
These beautifully wild winter destinations will never disappoint. They offer an unspoiled view of the night sky from within your snug glass igloo, providing the best vantage points to see the Northern Lights dancing across the sky in all their glory.
We can also recommend glass igloo holidays combined with a longer itinerary, allowing you to explore, try snowmobiling and reindeer rides, or visit a luxury hotel or lodge to relax and unwind with a pre-booked glass igloo trip for one or two nights of your stay.
For more information about planning your glass igloo holiday, choosing between destinations within the Arctic Circle, or scheduling your romantic getaway, please get in touch or browse our winter holiday packages online.
Each glass igloo holiday is adapted to your requirements, with all the details taken care of, including flights, transfers and your choice of accommodation in your selected glass resort.

Reblog, Like, Comment
I’ve done some Domme reader stuff that I haven’t done before so please comment on how i did :P
//
It’s been two months since Yoongi heard those three words slip past your lips from your lips in the hotel room. He made love to you that night like you couldn’t believe. He didn’t let you lift a finger because you were exhausted, especially after the performance and the emotional drainage loaded onto you that day. He worshipped your body, like the goddess he truly believed you were. Everywhere your body liked to be touched received his lips in the form of a kiss or light nip. Your body was subject to wave after wave. You were left a wrecked, exhausted shaking victim of his tongue technology.
//
It had been a week since Yoongi had heard you mutter those words in person. You’d been in the in the States. You’re reunion was going to be at a house that you knew pretty quickly you’d wanna excuse yourselves from. The … had been gently stroking at your walls since you left the airport. You were slowly getting needier and needier and every bump and damn pot hole was making it worse. If Yoongi had been good and done what you’d asked then he would have a smooth silicon butt plug making him just as needy.
Why do I do this to myself
-How long are you going to be?-
-Missed me huh? :P-
-Is it a crime? And besides Tae keeps trying to get me to dance and linking arms with me…help-
-Lol, I will pay extra to see this. I’m here anyway-
The bass could already be felt through the lit porch. The wide white door with gold embellishments; the window to the party inside. The house was extravagant, so says Greek god of music Apollo posing for the stone fountain you passed on the way to the porch.
“About time you showed up, pretty sure Yoongi is swamped with Tae affection and needs you” Lee chuckled welcoming you inside.
“I’ll make sure I take my time getting a drink then, thanks for inviting me by the way”
The annex floor war marble, the black pattern laced in the white marble resembled mosaic, this room was clear but the noise flooded out through the open living room door.
“Oh please, how much have we worked together these past two years. You basically lived in my here for two months this year” He wasn’t wrong he’d near enough help you produce most of your last album.
“Alright! I was just being polite jeez!” he slid your coat off your shoulders storing in in the cloak room large enough to be a childs room.
You followed him through to the king sized kitchen. The flurry of people drifting in and out, in addition to the smalls groups conversing conveniently next to the generous snack table the kitchen appeared to be much more cramped. You responded to a few smiles and waves in turn; there was a fair share of Idols around; as well as dancers, producers and various other roles from the music industry. All the alcohol bottles were shoulder to shoulder along the back of kitchen unit.
“Mixers all in the fridge, you good?”
“Yeah, yeah” you were already eyeing up the different flavour gins. His only response was a thumbs up and he merged seamlessly through the people and out the back sliding doors.
Mid pouring the lemonade arms wrapped round your front and you were squeezed tightly, all with added sound of a high pitch squeal.
“Oh my god I’m soo glad to see you” Sophie squealed. When you were released you turned to find her and a couple of the hair stylists from your company equally brimming with slightly drunk infused glazed over eyes. Karen was already handing you a shot. Sambuca! The worst!
When your sambuca disgust face twitching stopped you followed the girls outside. The sun was low in the sky, ready to pass the illumination baton on to the tall lamps dotted around the pool. The swimming pools lights were already glistening below the calm blue as perfect yellowy ovals. The calm blue was disturbed by a couple of splodges of green, white and pink; an inflatable dinosaur and unicorn ring were happily bobbing on the surface. Untouched, for now at least. You didn’t need to scan the mass of smart casually dressed people around the pool for long until Hobi’s laugh pierced through the music yanking your gaze to where your legs were now taking you.
Of course, it was right next to the music deck. Underneath the permanent veranda. ….. had moved his music deck outside, as far as you could tell there was no one actually manning so the music must be from the speakers with just the option to mix. You clapped eyes with Tae, a grin and an amused shake of your head greeted him. He chuckled, Yoongi’s hand captured firmly under his arms. You shushed him. You wanted to enjoy every miniscule reaction up close. Yoongi was naturally trying to pull away from affection to find solace in the chairs in front of him. When you were easily within range Tae let go stepping behind for you to come darting behind Yoongi wrapping your arms around him.
“Seriously, I swear to god I will end you!” Yoongi warned, blind to the more feminine hands at his waist. The other boy’s mouths dropped which hastily got covered to shield their amusement.
“Rude!”
His body stiffened before fighting in your grip to turn and face you
“Babe.. I’m so sorry I thought you were Tae” You kept your face straight for as long as you could to enjoy the panic washing over Yoongi’s face. It was a mere and feeble few seconds before you erupted into a giggle. You could feel eyes migrate onto you; as much as you were amongst your own industry and there were no paparazzi the two of you were still pretty big news.
“Hey” the saccharine low voice melted into you like butter on a hot crumpet.
“Hey” you replied, his hands dropped to envelope yours into a squeeze. His lips were screaming to you, begging for yours to comfort them but you were not a huge PDA fan. Yoongi who seemed more than happy using you as an excuse to go sit down and out of the zone of dancing Tae; who’d now moved onto Jin who was much more pliant.
“You look nice” Yoongi spoke plainly clambering through the glasses on the table until he reached his wine.
“I look nice?” You mocked teasingly
“You haven’t seen me for a week and you just say I look nice?” you goaded further. His eyes rolled, smile twitching at his lips.
“God! you’re sooo demanding what do you want me to say?” he whined sparkle glinting in his eyes.
“I missed you, can’t wait to have what nice clothes you are wearing on the bedroom floor while I fuck you until your begging me to stop”
The remainder of your mouthful of drink sprayed onto the stone, darkening Infront of you. Your glance quickly scanning your immediate surroundings for potential heard ears. Your core clenching around your toy. The dampness of your underwear becoming mildly uncomfortable.
Did he just?...out loud? Where has my shy Yoongles gone
“Well… I mean that’s certainly more… interesting”
“Yeah?”
“Yeah, not bad, if it was me though I probably woulda said… missed you can’t wait to have my mouth round your cock drinking down your cum”
“Ooof touché. Now no more otherwise you’ll start giving me…issues. Where’s Sophie and Karen disappeared off to?”
“Well we wouldn’t want that would we” pecking him on the cheek.
“No doubt to get me more shots to catch up, has Lee played your track yet?”
“Not yet he’ll, he’s got my memory stick”
“You trusted him with the password? Bitch you don’t even give that to me!” you whined.
“Damn right I don’t last time I did you put our private videos on there, I don’t need that kind of distraction when I’m at work”
“Not my fault you have no restraint”
You were right. Sophie and Karen had fought their way back over to you each with two glasses in their hands. Jaegerbombs.
“The hot tubs freee and has our name on it…” You’d packed your bikini in your overnight just for this. You wrote some of your favourite tracks from your last album in that hot tub.
“You saw Lee wave at Yoongi flagging him over
“You guys go I’ll be like 5 mins, got to hear what my boys made”
“Babe, you’ll hear it wherever you are, you go I’ll catch you in a bit” The kiss to your forehead signalling finality
“Fine!” you huffed squeezing his hand off your waist
“Sure it’s not just because you want me in a bikini quicker?” you teased out loud.
“You flatter yourself way too much” He countered acting disinterested; the glint of insincerity clear as day through his eyes. The hand he’d refused to let go now slid from his grasp.
The appeal of the hot tub was it was embedded into the floor. You stepped down into the shimmering warmth. A square area immediately around the circular pool the floor matched that you’d find in a sauna. You’d be on your knees on the seat of the tub, relaxing undulation of bubbles swarming your skin while you’d be writing lyrics on the wood, elbows growing sore with how fast your ideas were flowing out. The biggest appeal was the one-way glass, you could see the pool and if the patio pool area was free of swarms of people you had an aesthetic view of the skyline. The blanket of lights from the sea of buildings of Seoul.
The flow of water was circling and bubbling away, diffusing weakly into your tired muscles. The condensation had made the room soothingly stuffy and warm. The one-sided glass leaving the three of you in a tranquil heat filled space. You’d initially packed an overnight bag as you weren’t sure if you’d be staying at Yoongi’s or yours. You’d packed a few… extra things for Yoongi which you made sure were coated underneath the pyjamas.
The music filtered through the speakers in the top corner of the room, your ears alert for Yoongi’s new music that he’d refused to share with you. You’d tried every legal blackmail your mind could possible to torture Yoongi. When it came to music you’d very quickly learned he was as stubborn and private as you. You’d only hear it when he was happy for everyone to hear it; the only way you’d hear something before was if you were actually collaborating.
“Don’t you think Kihyun is looking damn good tonight” Karen cooed.
“You’d eat that boy alive” you chuckled
“How do you know I haven’t already?” she challenged from the side of the hot tub, the thin waves of steam failing to cover her deceptive smirk.
“Oh come on! you know Wonho would have told me” triumph filled the air. The three of you shared amusement
“You still talk to him then?”
“Not as much, but we’re still close”
“Well that’s hardly surprising most of your messages were absolute filth.”
“Well, there is that” you laughed, Sophie blunt as always.
“Anyway cheers girls, you bitches are the best” Glasses klinked, the beat of a song you’d never heard before started seeping into the room
“Oooh this must be it” you buzzed, the lower tones and bars of music ringing true of Agust D.
Your heart thumped to the bottom of your stomach, lead weighted. Blood plummeting southwards leaving your face drained. The sounds reaching your ears unbelievable.
“Well that’s erm different” Both girls eyes on you to gauge your reaction, you’d not moved. Face frozen eyes stuck wide.
“Wait…that’s not you…is it?” Your stiff expression face obviously confirming. The whole intro of the song he’d mixed in was the unmistakeable sounds of your moans. You completely blocked out anything when the lyrics started.
“I’m going to kill that asshole” Your shock morphing into pure anger out of embarrassment and self-preservation from m completely falling into tears.
“That’s a fucking dick move, he didn’t even ask?” mouth falling into a O.
“Would I want to hurt him if he did? I mean Jesus how could he, that’s so humiliating”
“He’s an artist right, you guys get soundbites from everywhere, people won’t even think it’s you. No one would expect Yoongi to do something like that. And it’s remixed pretty good, it’s pretty sexy actually”
“Don’t you even dare support this”
“I’m just saying” Karen shooting to defensive mood
“And anyway, that’s beside the point! How could he do that to me”
He is going to learn the full meaning of in dog house back home and he’d be a fool if he didn’t know that already.
When the songs was at its end the crept open. As soon as you saw his face you made sure you gave him daggers, right now you hoped they were primed and sharp. His hesitant movement into the room, sheepish aware of the wolf’s den he knew he was sacrificing himself to. Swim shorts over his shoulder.
“We’ll just go” Karen elbowing Sophie.
//
“What the actual fuck Yoongi! Your joking if you think you’re getting in” you seethed. He took a small step forward but no further. The barrier of your blood boiling giving him no choice but to choose wisely and come no closer.
“I’m…sorry, it was a complete accident, please let me explain” He rushed.
“An accident?” you scoffed.
“You don’t make a whole fucking song by accident, I don’t even wanna hear it. Do you know how embarrassing that was?” His head drooped low, eyes regretful looking up desperate at you.
“No one knows it’s you…I”
“You don’t know that! That’s besides the bloody point, you used something private without even asking for permission” He slumped himself down on the wooden bench that ran along half the room.
“I know I’m sorry, it wasn’t meant to be played”
“Oh the song you’d made that Lee Asked if you could play at his party you mean?” you snapped.
“I made two versions!” his voice never even raised but it strongly spoken.
“I thought I’d removed that one off the memory stick, he obviously played the wrong one” You churned the fact that actually he’d never meant the song to be heard through the grinder of your thoughts.
“Please forgive me I never meant to…” he pleaded
Fine!
“You know what fine! If you didn’t play it on purpose… just get out I’m too angry, I need to cool off” he stood without a word of contest. He knew by now how hot blooded you were. Eyes never leaving the floor, the now wounded sheep made his way towards the door. His face wringing the anger from your body as quick as it had flared. Leaving you empty with just guilt for company.
“Yoongi wait”
“Want to make it up to me?” He recognised your tone, he recognised the devilish smirk slowly creeping across your face.
“I’ll do anything you want” Instant submission.
Good boy
“Well that’s exactly what I want, lock the door, get changed and come in”
He joined you in simple black swim shorts, his V-lines more prominent than the last time you saw him. As soon as he settled you straddled his lap. A spring recoiling in his arms looping round your waist to hold your hips. He shouldn’t get to touch you, you wanted to pin them but you’d missed his touch too much to argue with yourself. You let it be, for now.
“You need to stop working out” You delayed his reply
“Wh..y” you went onto his lips, hard; catching his bottom lip between his teeth with just a much force. You heard the soundless exhale, a soft breeze from his lips. The growl was stuck in his throat but your hand felt it where it was resting loose on his throat.
“You can’t be hotter than me. Now are you ready to be a good boy and do exactly as I say?” his amused smile switched to an open mouth whine; dragging his hair back in a short tug.
“Well that’s impossible and yes I am yours to use” to hear those words roll off his lips was just…
“Sit up on the side I can’t have you make me cum with all this water” You clambered off him to resume the same position.
“I’ve missed those hands and I know how much you like to use them but to make it more of a punishment I won’t be moaning for you or calling your name” Your ability to do this was partially his fault, when you’d stay at the dorm with the others Yoongi actually wanted to keep things quiet from his brothers. You would always make sure you’d seduce the fuck out of him so he couldn’t refuse. You’d test how quiet he could be and he did the same. So in short it was actually mostly your fault.
You pulled at the bow at the back of your neck, the top flawless in the way it fell from your skin. You held it up biting your lip letting it fall from your hand. Yoongi pulled at the tie just below your hip, bottom lip also disappearing becoming victim of a bite. The lustful coffee swirls of his eyes focused on yours waiting for approval before he removed it from your glistening skin.
The grip of your hands tightening on his shoulders, his hand dipping, tracing his fingers from your neck down, your chest rising under his touch, through the valley of your breasts. His palms flipping up when they reached between your thighs. Pursing the heavy breath through your lips, dissipating the moan in your throat. Both your foreheads pressing together eyes challenging each other in a battle of unbridled lust. Throwing your white flag back with your head when his finger pressed to the front of core, too quickly finding the precious velvet wall. The double hit being in this position his palm was also pressed against your even more precious bundle of nerves. Your neck quickly succumbed to a wave of open-mouthed wet kisses; each igniting a different line of nerves rerouting them between your thighs. Your chest pressed to him your back arched in a perfect crescent. He tilted you back slightly leaning further to you. His fingers could go that much deeper. His palm pressed to your clit with just more pressure. Before your head buried in his neck the unknowing hustle of the people received such an arrogant devilish smirk before a harsh thrust of his hand had you clamping down on his shoulders. He was trying to make you lose your own game. All your moans you made sure were caught in your throat.
“Fuck this is infuriating without you moaning” Yoongi breathed in your ear. His fingers pumping harder.
You could support less and less of your own weight; you became heavier in his hand and lap. He knew he had you.
You fell completely apart, your legs tensed so hard convulsing around his thighs. His fingers still pressed hard to the front of your walls; palm still snug on your clit. He hooked his finger harder inside you, the next pulse of your muscles with the pressure of his fingers right there caused something deeper to release
Your cry flooded past your lips, the moan and expletives loud and breathless in Yoongi’s ear. If his shorts weren’t wet from the hot tub, they’d definitely be soaked with you.
“Did you just?” he asked through heavy exhale, smugness caked on his face.
“I did just”
“That was…so fucking sexy”
“Great punishment” he toyed like a brat.
“Oh babe I’m not done” The glint in your eyes made sure he knew. You tugged his hair dragging his head so your mouth was next to his ear
“I’m going to fuck you from behind while you look out at everyone. I want you think how much of a good boy you are”
“What? You can’t?” you’d already got yourself out of the hot tub.
“And why not?” You challenged, fully prepared for his response.
“Don’t you need…”
Yes I do you thought to yourself holding the harness in your hand
“You brought that to a house party?” the wideness of his eyes briefly sheltered the mischievous creases that built in the corners of his lips.
“Well I was hoping I’d be coming to stay at yours”
“But seriously…here?” he still challenged
“Oh so you don’t mind making me squirt like that, but fucking you is a bit too far?”
You butted in before the guy had a chance to respond
“Now stop being a brat, I want those off and you bent over the side of the tub” The lack of smile and piercing eyes dissuaded any more backchat.
The gold metal buckle lightly pinched the skin at your hip as you stepped into the pool. Yoongi’s head already resting on his arms. He exhaled through his teeth, your hand gently reached around and wrapped at the base of his cock.
“Are you so hard it hurts yet?”
“Getting there” he admitted, the colour fading back into his knuckles when you let him go
“Well you’re not going to cum from this” you warned.
“That’s never not happened” The complaint coming through a low echo with his head weighted on his hands
“You’ve been doing sooo much better. You’re just going to try extra hard for me today. Promise I won’t make it too difficult”
“If you do then you’ll just have to go without making me cum for a month. And you know I’ll make you watch when I do it myself”
“Ready?” hand slick with raspberry lube stroking the thin purple silicone shaft.
“What do you say?”
“I’m sorry for playing that song…ugh!” If he was going to say anymore, he didn’t with you teasing
“Thank you, now ask for it. Ask for your punishment like a good boy” His head took a quick glance up soaking up the view. He couldn’t deny it had definitely become quite a kink. The danger and the audacity of it just ruffled his feathers in all the right ways.
You deemed the silence too long. Fingers skipping up his spine, twizzling in his hair. Sharp tug.
“Ugh!”
“I’m waiting”
“Fuck me…please… I won’t cum…I don’t deserve it” His words hitting you like honey, sweetening right in between your thighs
“God, you drive me crazy when ..” Your leg propped up, hand resting at the base of his neck. Another hand tight on the masterpiece of his ass.”
His head dropping, groans deep in his throat. Hips slow pressing into him.
“Head up, look straight” Knocking your hips in a jolt against him
“I want you looking at all those people while I fuck you”
“Do you think they’ll be surprised to know how much you love it when I have you from behind” You leaned as far forward as you could, slithering your words at the top of his spine. Feeding into his love for you dirty mouth.
He was attempting to choke his moans away, half conscious of the open space of the room. He was struggling to hold himself together. When he’d whine a certain way, you knew he was close so you’d stop and give him a moment to control himself. You weren’t feeling cruel enough to actively try and make him fail.
Your hips had slowed now, and the long drawn tortured moans you were rewarded with. Oof. You could have quite easily stopped and wrapped the mouth he loved so much around his cock and given him the release he so desperately needed. You didn’t.
“I…can’t…anymore” he panted, exhausted. You still inside him pushing your hips to meet his ass once more
“Say please”
“Fuck please!” he cried. The desperation calling your punishment satisfactory. The top half of his body collapsed onto his arms. A beautiful panting mess of your own creation.
“Now I’m so hard it hurts” he breathed, muffled. Buckles undone, harness carried to the bag. Satiated smirk solid on your lips. You made no attempt to hide it when you re-joined him back in the tub. He shuffled round and slid fluidly onto the seat. The creases around his eyes glistening with tears. You swept them away with a gentle swipe of your thumb.
“Such a beautiful boy. Such a mess for me”
“I’ve been good, please…let me cum…Babyyy” Oh god the whine was sounded so perfectly with need and beauty. You were actually impressed he managed it. He’d normally come undone pretty quick.
“Fine, you can cum but… you have to tell me, and you only get my hand” His hands excitedly grabbing your hips as you sat on his lap; gasping when you most definitely on purpose guided his cock through you as you lowered yourself.
He really was desperate.
He breathed a curse as your thumb rolled over his tip. Eyes automatically firing warnings your way. Inhaling your bottom lip between your teeth, the evil smirk responding. You are still in control and you are not done.
Back arched into his chest, hand spread at the base of his neck. Lips dangerous, finding that spot he loves you to clamp down on.
“Fuck, I’m not going to last long” he breathed already flushed trying to contain himself. The small bulge of his adams apple bobbed underneath your lips, his legs stiffened in between yours. You kept your hand movements slow and deliberate. Wanting to drag each long groan past his lips that you could.
“Is that nice baby?” Asking the obvious you knew but you wanted to hear it.
“Mmm so…” his words choked as your hand worked faster. His fingers locked tighter onto the outside of your thighs, head dropping back mouth agape stuttered soundless whimpers. Your hand constricting the side of his throat coaxing him to just topple off the edge.
“I’m going to…” Your hand abandoning his cock before his hips started spluttering. Even though you still had pressure on that beautiful milky throat of his. The sweet exasperated groan and breathy curses tweaked the sides of your lips up. His tortured pupils looking so feebly at you, devastated you’d just ruined his climax that he was gagging for. The water settling around you, your arm dragging droplets round his scapula, rolling down his chest perfect little drops.
Wet hands toying with the bottom of his hair line.
“You’re unbelievable, you know that” his chest still rising and falling in rapid undulations beneath you.
“And you know you can’t get enough of it” you countered pressing an adoring kiss on his plump lips.
“Babe you seriously gotta stop trying to leave me like this” it was a weak tired plea more than being a brat so you forgave him. If you ruined him just right, he’d stay hard; giving you plenty of extra play time. You retrieved your bikini halves from where they were shamelessly dropped.  Facing the gap in the wall towards the changing area wringing out your hair; your ass a full spectacle to him to enjoy.
“Well I won’t because we’re not finished and you’re going to come and fuck me against the wall”
He followed you through into the changing rooms like the absolute love-struck horny puppy you know he is and you wouldn’t change him for the world.

Iceland - Day 6
Got up after a night of somewhat fractured sleep, partly due to pain from the fall, partly due to being too warm, and partly due to the fire alarm going off at 2 in the morning despite the lack of any actual fire.
Left the hotel at 9 as usual after dropping my postcards in the box and headed for the first stop of the day: the nearby site of Dimmuborgir, where volcanic rocks have formed into such fantastical shapes that it’s easy to see how legends of trolls arose. Some of the rock formations really do look like they’ll get up and walk away once the sun goes down, with hints of rocky faces frozen in the stone. There was also an information board about the Yule Lads, Iceland’s mischievous answer to Santa Claus, despite it being July.
We then set off once again, and after a couple of photo stops overlooking peaceful Lake Mývatn, arrived at Goðafoss, the Waterfall of the Gods. This is not as high or as forbidding as Dettifoss or Gullfoss, but very picturesque in its own right. The river crashes over a rough horseshoe of rock into the gorge below, where basalt formations have created strange herringbone patterns, and carries on a short distance downstream to a second, smaller and less steep waterfall and beneath a high footbridge that gives an excellent view up towards both falls.
Though undeniably beautiful, Goðafoss was incredibly busy: not one but two cruise ships – one of them truly unnecessarily enormous, as we later saw – had docked at the city of Akureyri, and apparently every single one of the passengers had decided to visit the falls at once. Many of them lacked a clear understanding of the cardinal rule of Iceland – Stay On The Path – and were taking their lives in their hands on the rocks. There was also a small café and a much bigger gift shop, where I got a coffee, a t-shirt, and some souvenirs for people at home.
We left Goðafoss and carried on along the road, passing by peaceful fjords and high mountains, and drove through another very long – and, bizarrely and nerve-wrackingly, single-track road tunnel to find ourselves overlooking Eyjafjörður and Akureyri, but before moving on to the city we stopped at Laufás, a traditional Icelandic turf house and one-time home of the local pastor, now preserved as it was and in the care of the National Museum. Some of the cruise passengers caught up at this point, so we finished our tour of the house and continued to Akureyri, Capital of the North and biggest city in Iceland outside the greater Reykjavik area, being home to about 18,000 people. I sadly had to give the whale-watching a miss – there was no way we could reach the city in time – and so spent a couple of hours wandering the town centre, admiring the buildings, people-watching, and investigating the usual mix of souvenir shops and cafés, as well as a book shop with a wider range of English-language literature than I had expected. There is also a botanical garden perched halfway up the slope on which Akureyri lies, but I had to pass on that as well; I was by no means certain my back (still sore) could handle the climb back down to the city centre. I had hoped to maybe pick up some stronger painkillers in Akureyri, but the Apótek was closed on Saturdays and the nearest supermarket was too far to walk.
I met back up with the group and we left Akureyri, heading further north through two more road tunnels (two-way this time) until we reached the day’s destination, the peaceful little village of Siglufjörður and the Sigló Hotel. Elis had talked this up as the nicest hotel of the tour, and I have to agree (lack of bath notwithstanding); it has a top-notch restaurant, pleasant rooms decorated in a vaguely nautical style, and that undefinable ‘nice hotel’ smell in the corridors. It also has a spacious hot tub and sauna outside the front door, which seems like an odd place to put a hot tub but I can’t argue with the results: I went for a soak before dinner, lost track of time in the face of not being in pain, and stayed in there for almost an hour and a half.
Siglufjörður itself looks like a very classic Nordic village, with colourfully-painted houses nestled along the banks of the fjord and around its pretty harbour, followed by fish warehouses and – so we’re told – the premises of a local pharmaceutical company (which doesn’t outwardly appear all that different to the fish warehouses), all lying beneath snow-patched mountains dotted with anti-avalanche fences. It’s a very quiet location; while I was in the hot tub there was nothing to be heard other than the occasional bird or passing car, though right now I can hear someone playing music in the distance, possibly holding an outdoor concert or just having a very enthusiastic party.
Hopefully my back has improved by morning. I tried asking at the front desk if they had a hot water bottle I could borrow, but the man’s (otherwise very good) English didn’t extend as far as ‘hot water bottle’, I had no idea what the Icelandic might be, and the answer turned out to be ‘sorry, but no’ once we’d struggled over the language barrier.

My Life Is Your Life - 10
Tumblr media
WARNING! FOUL LANGUAGE!
Part Nine
Six Months Later
It was blistering hot out. The humidity made you want to crawl into a freezer and never come back out again.
“Oh god, why did I agree to this?” You cried out. Jacob was in front of you, walking the path up the mountain to the springs. Harrison had given you both the weekend off and Jacob had hyped you up about a tropical spring just outside the city where they gave you massages and treated you like royalty.
What he didn’t tell you was that you had to walk from the road to the springs, which was a three-mile trek up a mountain.
“Oh hush, just think, when we get there, they’ll have mimosas and a cool bath waiting for us.” he said, laughing loudly before pulling out his water bottle.
“We’ve been walking for what feels like hours. This is more than three miles.” You said, taking your own water bottle out of your pack.
Jacob didn’t say anything and continued to move along until he called out. “Look! A sign.” He pointed to a wooden sign that read you were close to the springs. In the distance, you could see a large building coming out of the side of the mountain.
“Oh, thank god.” You said, almost crying tears of joy.
The rest of the walk was done in thoughts of a cool bath and a sparkling mimosa. Both you and Jacob had watering mouths as soon as you stepped into the hotel.
“Welcome.” A woman said, holding a tray of mixed drinks. “As a way of saying “congratulations on your trek” please have a drink on us.”
There were waters, champagne, glasses of wine and even orange juice. You took the glass of champagne and downed it in one gulp. “I needed that.”
“Mimosas will be served to your room in a few.” The woman said.
You and Jacob looked at each other and started giggling like little girls. Upon entering your shared room, you immediately stripped naked in the bathroom and climbed into the bathtub. Above the tub was a door that you could open to look into your room.
“Knock Knock.” You said, as you opened it to peer into the room. Jacob was sat on the bed, his phone in hand.
“Oh, look how fancy. A door window from the bathroom to the bedroom. If that doesn’t scream kinky then I don’t know what does.” He said. You snorted, making sure your private parts were covered but still being visible enough to hold conversation.
“What’s on the agenda, Jacob?” You asked, playing with a strand of your hair that had fallen out of your bun.
“Hmm, let’s see. They have a sauna.” He said.
A groan escaped your lips as you slid back into the bathtub. It was nice and cool and made you feel good.
“Or, we could do a relaxing couple's massage.” He called out. You perked back up on the edge and smiled.
“Let’s do it!”
That sent you both into a fit of giggles.
“What would the boyfriend say?” He asked, wiggling his eyebrows.
You flicked water at him as you sank back into the water. “What he doesn’t know won’t hurt him.”
Another laugh erupted from the both of you and you realized that this was exactly what you needed.
A knock on the door let you know mimosas had arrived and Jacob handed yours to you as you both sat and talked for a while.
After a relaxing cool bath, you both donned your robes and headed to the massage parlor where the couple’s massage he talked about ensued.
Afterwards, you decided to take a dip in the underground pool they had. It was heated to a reasonable temperature and you enjoyed the feeling of it against your now cool skin. Jacob decided to do the salt room and after a while in the pool, you joined him. It helped open up your pores and clean out all the impurities.
A weekend of relaxing made you feel like a whole new person when you arrived to work Monday night.
Tom hadn’t bothered you all weekend, which was unusual. He was always texting you. But something bothered you when he didn’t answer his phone the day you returned home. You were hoping to see him, but instead you got an ignored phone call and no response to your texts.
You decided to push it aside and continue with your previously planned week. Only a few more days before you took the exam to finish your course work. Then you were really on your way to being a law enforcer for your beloved city.
Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday went by with no word from Tom. You grew aggravated and pissed off the more the days went by.
“Why isn’t he answering his phone?” You huffed, ending yet another failed attempt to call him.
“Who?” Harrison asked as he walked up behind you.
“Tom. Have you heard from him?” You asked.
Harrison looked at his phone. “The last time I talked to him was this morning. Said he had a meeting to go to all day.” he shrugged. “What’s up, buttercup?”
Your mouth fell open. “So, he can text you but he can’t text his girlfriend back? It’s been a fucking week Haz! WHAT THE HELL!”
Harrison shrugged and continued with his duties as the owner of the strip club. You watched him intently as you knew he was hiding something from you. Working for him for almost two years didn’t mean you didn’t pick up a few things about him here and there.
A phone call pulled him away to his office and there is where you followed him, leaning against the door and listening intently.
“Yeah, she asked.” Harrison said.
“No, I didn’t tell her. Why would I tell her?”
“That’s your woman, mate, not mine. You handle your business like you’re supposed to but if I were you, I would do it soon because she’s PISSED.”
“No, dude, but if you don’t hurry up, you’re gonna have to stick with the girl that your parents found for you.”
You slammed open his office door, taking his phone from his hand.
“Thomas Stanley Holland, I swear to god, if you do not come here right now and tell me what the hell is going on, I will shoot you myself!” You yelled furiously into the phone. Hot tears were playing at the edges of your eyes and all you wanted was an answer.
“Y/N, please, listen. I can’t really explain to you what’s going on but I will soon.” He said in a hushed tone.
A women's voice could be heard on the other end, asking him who he was on the phone with.
“No, you know what Tom. Fuck you. You don’t answer me for a whole fucking week and then you have some other bitch? I’m done. We are done.” You hung up, throwing the phone at Harrison.
“And you, how dare you cover for that traitor.” You pointed your finger at Harrison who threw his hands up in the air. You stormed out, taking no chances of being seen by Jacob with hot tears in your eyes. You decided to go home instead, handing off your tables to a new girl who seemed a little too eager to take them.

There really wasn’t anything I liked. Some of the front desk male staff is helpful and friendly housekeeping but I started to become “allergic” to the loud constant Spanish speaking around me even in the kitchen where they sit and talk.
Easy check-in. Lovely staff. Location is PERFECT. Hostel was cheap and great value for what they offer. Great for solo travellers like myself.
The position of the hostel, the people, the murales in the hostel, the room was quite nice but….
THE GUYS AT THE CHECK IN DESK CUTE AND POLITE , BREAKFAST . JUST A BAGEL AND APPLE PLUS COFFE, BUT THERE IS A NICE FIVE DOLLAR BREAKFAST SPOT AROUND CORNER

I came with a friend so we did a lot on our own but I’d recommend for anyone who comes on their own to enjoy the group activities they offer. I’d never stayed in a hostel before and didn’t know what to expect but it was a great experience and would recommend it to anyone to at least try it one time.

The place combines a great bar, a nice small spa/sauna and a hotel. Good idea and good realization. The so called CRATES (woodboard rooms sharing the bathroom) are cheap and you barely get what you pay for. Bed was comfortable and I used the earplugs to have a good night’s sleep.
Loved the staff Loved the bar Loved the entertainment Loved the other guests
Great location and very nice staff. Cool vibe and bar in evening.
This is not your standard room. It is more like a hostel. But the rooms felt secure, there is even a free safe, and the room felt cleaner than many chain hotels. And the bar downstairs had a fun vibe. The spa was also very clean and well appointed.
Personnel incroyable, activités très intéressantes

Day 15 - Roman Holiday
Waking up this morning, I looked outside at what I assumed was a cloudy day given the hazy light coming in the window. Instead I found that the courtyard was shrouded in a thick ethereal mist. Quickly heading outside, I snapped some surreal pictures--soon the mist burned away, but the experience verged on the supernatural, especially with the similarities to the horror film "The Others", which features a ghostly fog surrounding a British manor, not too different from our own. Happily, no ghosts here (that we know about). After breakfast, we headed into Bath for an appointment with ancient history at the Roman Baths. I had last visited this attraction 9 years ago and I remember being impressed--but seeing it again, we were all really amazed, not just by the historical significance, but also by how well the curators have crafted the experience. We first entered into a grand building and walked around an upper promenade--this is actually at ground level of the city, but the baths themselves are 4 meters underneath this, so you begin by circling the main bath from this elevated area-getting a great view, yet not quite experiencing it up close (this is on purpose). We began to learn about the history through our free audio tour, and Alex had his own "kid" version too, which stunningly kept him interested through the entire 1.5 hour self-guided tour. Heading downstairs, you don't go directly to the main bath (of course not!), but instead you learn a lot about Roman history through the artifacts found in the area--coins, columns, altars, and "curse" letters (apparently when Romans were robbed or sleighted, they would write little curse notes to the gods to smote the perpetrators--these were etched in tin, and many are still well preserved). There are great video "windows" around the area that show what it might have looked like in Roman times, with costumed characters going about their daily lives. Of course, the ruins themselves were mostly on the ground floor, but recreations of the rest of the buildings are seamless and give a sense of the scope. Where the construction could not adequately recreate the ancient Roman buildings, computer simulations displayed this even more accurately. Finally, after our brains were full with facts about Romans, we emerged into the primary bath area--the water is steaming and green with algae--you can walk fully around the bath and get a sense of what it would have been like 2000 years ago, enjoying a true historical sauna experience. Side rooms off the baths served different purposes--a cold water bathing room, changing rooms, gender specific baths--it was a full service experience apparently. And this city in Roman times wasn't even that big, population-wise. But they had a sweet natural spring hot tub. At the very end, you have a chance to taste and/or touch the water. I tasted it (hot, sulfurous water isn't that good, I learned). Alex touched it. Allison did neither. Anyway, the whole exhibit was a full success for all of us. Directly across from the baths sits Bath Abbey, a gorgeous cathedral, that we sped through. I could try to explain it in detail, but I won't because I think we are all burnt out on cathedrals and at this point, I couldn't tell the difference between this one and every other we saw. But it was grand, and we took many pictures. After the Abbey, we walked around a bit, found a shoe store and bought Alex a new pair of Converse (gold and black), and settled into a coffee shop for a quick lunch. Heading up a hill, we found the Circus--not the circus we know, but a large and completely circular intersection with a park in the middle and curved apartments in every direction. Turning west, we headed to the Royal Crescent--a much larger, semi-circular neighborhood, clearly related to the Circus, yet more impressive. Just south of this massive expanse of buildings is a green grassy park, where everyone goes to relax and take pictures. It is so large, that everyone snapping photos had to stand at the very back of the tree line just to capture the whole building. We took a few pictures ourselves and some boomerangs with Alex. Finding a cab back to our hotel was not as easy as we planned, but eventually we said goodbye to Bath and were back on the road. Arriving at Lucknam Park, we immediately changed into our workout clothes and took a family bike ride down the long entrance path. This day was absolutely gorgeous, with only a few clouds in the sky--by the time we had biked over to the soccer/football field, we were all sweaty, possibly for the first time this trip. We played a little one-on-two soccer/football (Alex and Allison versus me), and it was intense. The game ended with what I thought should have clearly been a red card on Allison, which ended in the winning goal. After review, the referee, Alex (also a player), made a really questionable call saying there was no penalty on the play (could have also been a flop on my part, to be honest), and that ended it. Hey at least nobody faked an injury. Next up was our tea time at the hotel. We intentionally had a light lunch knowing we were going to feast on sandwiches, scones, and desserts, at 3:30 in the afternoon, which just felt wrong (and yet it was so right). Our stomachs also felt a little guilty from all the mid-afternoon sugar and caffeine intake, but nonetheless it was a unique cultural experience. I still don't completely get it, but really no complaints here. Alex and I headed back to the pool for a bit of fun, then headed for dinner (we had a lot of meals today), which was delightful as usual. We ended up sitting next to a woman from South Korea with her 3 year old daughter. The mother was fluent in English and we chatted for a bit--her daughter knew a little bit but that didn't stop her and Alex from pretending to be dinosaurs, exchanging candy, and coloring together. Alex kept trying to explain how to play certain games in his little travel kit, but that didn't really go as planned--he didn't get frustrated but it was hilarious watching him try to communicate. And on another, totally effing random note, Allison spent an hour this afternoon in an online queue trying to book tickets for the "Museum of Ice Cream" exhibit which is coming to San Francisco this October. Along the way, she was telling me how quickly this thing was selling out its entire two month run--as in, it sold out completely during this one hour of ticket sales for the whole thing. So, at dinner, when we are talking to this random woman from SOUTH KOREA, she tells us her cousin just bought tickets for them all to the Museum of Ice Cream in San Francisco. WHAT IS GOING ON? It was crazy. It was random. It was crazy random. I guess this whole ice cream thing is catching on. Our evening ended with a heated game of Monopoly in the parlour, or was it the drawing room? It actually would have been better to play Clue in this building--as in playing clue for real, going from room to room, because this might as well be where the game takes place. It was the London version of Monopoly so all the properties were appropriate to this city (Leicester Square, Mayfair, etc.)--and it motivated us to try San Francisco-opoly when we get home, which is now in only two days time! Tomorrow we head into London to stay with a friend, and I get to attend the premiere of "Ruin Me", the feature film I shot in Michigan a couple of years ago. And that will be our last night of the trip!

The smooth, completely prepared kitchen is available to the next living spaces, making it simple to get a tidbit and a delight to plan suppers.
As a wedge of the Elounda Gulf Villas community, the property offers visitors complimentary transport administration to a private costal club, where you'll discover sunbeds, umbrellas, shoreline towels and, obviously, Crete's wonderfully clear waters.
Villa Sylvana
Drench yourself in the regular magnificence of the Greek islands at Villa Sylvana. Set in the midst of moving slopes, the customary five-room stone estate feels as if it's been a piece of the scene for quite a long time, yet is equipped with current extravagances. With the town of Gavalochori a short leave and four shorelines a short head out, the property makes it simple to the island.
With stone dividers, curved entryways, transmitted roofs, and comfortable chimneys, the insides of Villa Sylvana are warm and inviting. A sitting region highlights moderate dim couches and a provincial end table assembled around an expansive shelf, with a shining light fixture as an eccentric completing touch. The novel feasting region has an advanced semi-round bar-style table that can situate up to fourteen visitors.
From Villa Sylvana, it's a 10-minute stroll to the town of Gavalochori. On the off chance that you've come to Greece for the shorelines, you'll discover Almyrida shoreline around 4 km away, Odyssia Beach a little more than 6 km away, Sentido Aegean Pearl Beach around 6 km away, Esperia Beach a little more than 6 km away and Atlantis Beach just shy of 6 km away. The Dimotiko Tennis Club is around 9 km away, and Heraklion International Airport is around 110 km from the property.
Conclusion:
Crete enraptures and tempts the traveling buds with its amazing and lofty scene, with its kind and vivacious soul, its rich history, its cultural cuisine, and its hospitable individuals. The island of Crete is not only known for its affluent history, cosmopolitan blaze and clamoring and energetic nightlife. These highlights clearly contribute to setting up the island as a standout amongst the most prominent vacation destinations on the planet!

Perfect 4-day Cozumel Dive Trip Itinerary
Cozumel is the jewel of the Riviera Maya. This teardrop-shaped island sits only 12-miles off the coast of Playa Del Carmen, but it feels like you are worlds away. Gone is the hustle and bustle of a busy Mexican city, and, in its place, you’ll find a taste of the Caribbean and some of the best diving in the world. We’re sharing our best four-day / three-night itinerary for this tropical paradise.
Why Dive in Cozumel
Cozumel is a world-class dive destination off the coast of Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. It’s a 30-mile long, teardrop-shaped island that sits in a massive ocean current, which forms enormous coral reefs (the 2nd largest in the world) and pumps crystal clear water up to the surface.
You’ll get long drift dives that carry you along towering coral walls with 100+ feet of visibility. Sometimes, you float out over the void and see the ocean floor drop out beneath you. Other times, you can swim through caves and structures on the coral reef. The dive sites are in a protected sanctuary, so the fish are large and plentiful. If you have your buoyancy dialed in, you’re going to love diving in Cozumel.
Our DM pointing the way while diving in Cozumel
How to Get to Cozumel?
You can fly directly into Cozumel from the international airport on the north end of the island. Flights into Cozumel are reasonable from the US, often in the $400 price range.
If you’re looking for a more extensive Riviera Maya adventure, consider flying into Cancun. Tickets there will be about $50-$100 less than Cozumel, often with direct flights. You can easily take the Ado bus from the airport to Playa Del Carmen for about 200 pesos, and the ferry from Playa to Cozumel for about $22. Both legs are comfortable and take about an hour.
Whether you fly into Cozumel or fly into Cancun, then take the bus and ferry, you end up spending about the same amount of money. It’s only worth it if you’re extending your trip on the Yucatan Peninsula. Even then, you might look into flying into Cozumel and departing from Cancun.
The Cozumel Ferry dock
How Do You Get Around Cozumel?
You can rent a car from the Cozumel airport, which isn’t a bad option. Kayak offers rentals starting at $5/ day, but they are going to ask you for an insurance package. It is possible to use your credit card to provide car insurance, which is a benefit some cards offer.
If you’re taking a taxi, the charges start to add up quickly. Taxi rates in Cozumel are first calculated by group size, where a party of 1-4 people pays the same price, and it goes up from there. They also charge separately every time they cross through downtown. You usually pay about $10-$15 traveling from one end of the tourist zone into the city center, and about that much again if you go to the other side of the island — all the more reason to get a rental car.
Where Should Divers Stay in Cozumel?
There are a couple of considerations for divers staying in Cozumel. Does the dive shop you work with operate out of a particular hotel, or stop at the hotel pier? Also, is there shore diving available from your hotel?
Shore diving in Cozumel took a beating with recent hurricanes, so let’s focus on where dive companies can pick you up. We loved diving with Scuba Life Cozumel. Not only are they friendly and professional, they also have top quality gear. It’s no wonder they are ranked #1 on TripAdvisor with over 800 five-star ratings! What’s more, they pick up at the top dive hotels in Cozumel.

A luxurious beachfront hotel in Cozumel
Day 1 – Relax at Your Beachfront Hotel
You’ve flown into the Cozumel International Airport and navigated to your beachfront hotel. Now it’s time to relax and enjoy the amenities, responsibly. Remember, dehydration and too much alcohol don’t mix well with diving. You’ll burn through more air, get cramps easier, enjoy the boat ride less, and be at higher risk for gas toxicity. While you’re at it, maybe you’d want to try an Italian meal for the first night if your stomach gets bubbly.
The first day of a dive trip is also the time for you to brush up on your scuba skills. If it’s been a year or more since you last dove, or are just feeling uneasy, many of these resorts have on-site scuba centers. They’ll happily take you on a refresher course to get you in top form. Maybe check out the spa to get the kinks out from flying or chill by the pool trying to remember why babies with rabies are fierce (your pre dive buddy check pneumonic).
Night 2 – Enjoy the Cozumel Sunset
There is nothing quite like a Cozumel sunset. Almost every hotel is located on the western edge of the island. Pick your favorite location from your hotel’s private beach to a recliner by the pool and wait for nature’s masterpiece.
Mexico humidity allows for more than blazing orange sunsets. If the day is just right, you might witness a green flash. These usually occur when the surface is warmer than the overlying air. The warm air forms a prism, which refracts a green globe above the disc of the setting sun. If nothing else, take this moment of peace and calm with you as you dive. You might just get a minute or two more bottom time.
A beautiful Cozumel sunset
Day 2 – Dive Palancar Reef and La Francesca Reef
There are more than 35 Cozumel dive sites. However, most divers frequent Arrecifes de Cozumel National Park (Cozumel Reef National Park), located on the south-west edge of the island. La Francesca Reef and Palancar Reef sit closer to the hotels.
La Francesca, named in honor of Jacques Cousteau, is a shallower reef suitable for open water divers or a second tank dive. Cozumel owes a great debt to Mr. Cousteau for introducing the world to its dive sites and laying the foundation for dive tourism and reef protection.
Palancar is deeper than La Francesca and, like many of the reefs in Cozumel, requires an advanced certification or higher. If you don’t have an advanced certification, you should seriously consider taking your advanced certification class on your Cozumel dive vacation. You’ll see some incredible sites, and it’s so much more fun than your open water class because there are fewer instructions and more diving.
Whether you’re in class or not, you will be working on two skills on your first dive day, trim and drift diving. To stay trim while diving, adjust your tank height, and use trim weights. Your goal is to stay level without kicking or sculling, which is extremely important in drift diving since you rarely if ever, will be kicking. Once you’re trim, you adjust the speed you travel down the reef by changing your height in the water column.
You’ll start to notice the current slows down behind coral outcroppings. Hang out there with the schools of French Grunts to keep up with your group. If you try to kick against the current, you’ll burn through all your air and have to surface sooner than you want.
A spotted cowfish on a Cozumel reef
Night 2 – Explore San Miguel de Cozumel
San Miguel de Cozumel is the main city on the island of Cozumel. There are two hubs of activity, the ferry dock, and the cruise ship pier. With how touristy the cruise ship pier is, you might as well stay at your hotel. You’re heading into town searching for a more authentic experience, so set your sights on the Centro district.
It feels like the city spreads out from Parque Benito Juarez, a beautiful little park with a Cozumel sign and an illuminated fountain. Explore the area, looking for treasures and treats. Some of our favorites were the frozen drinks at Wet Wendy’s and the incredible tacos at Machete.
There’s no right or wrong way to discover San Miguel de Cozumel. Just make sure you take the time to soak in the ambiance. I would recommend coming in during daylight and staying until it gets dark to observe the light playing on the buildings and how the energy changes. Notice how many Mexican families are out walking together instead of staying home watching TV.
Tacos at Machete in San Miguel de Cozumel
Day 3 – Dive Columbia Reef or Punta Sur
If you’re flying out on day 4, you will want to start this dive day nice and early so you can clear your 24-hour no-fly hold. Are you ready for the challenge of Columbia Reef or Punta Sur? That’s the question you and your divemaster will be asking after the first dive day. Did you get trim set and float effortlessly, or were you sucking air like a Hoover vac?
If you demonstrate extraordinary skills and the seas are cooperating, you might attempt the most notorious dive on Cozumel – the Devil’s Throat on Punta Sur. It’s a massive coral swim through that starts at 80′ down. You continue at a 45-degree angle until you exit at 130′ depth. With those depths and that length of swim through, there is little room for error.
Perhaps you’ll be more comfortable on the Columbia Deep site. It’s a classic drift dive at 100′ down with a couple of much smaller swim-throughs. Another option is to stay on Palancar Reef and attempt the Palancar Caves, which have magnificent structure but are only 90′ down. Trust your DM, your instincts, and your training and error on the side of caution. You can always come back to Cozumel, take more classes, or plan an extended trip to get your drift diving skills on point.
After completing a deep dive at 90’+, your second dive might be one of the stunning bays on the south end of the island like El Cielo. You’ll find lighter current and the most beautiful blue shade of water you can imagine. It’s an incredible place to blow bubbles and look for starfish.
Do you see the sea anemone
Night 3 – Partake in Cozumel NightLife
For the last couple of nights, you’ve been good. You’ve stayed hydrated and only drank in moderation. Since you’re not diving tomorrow, all bets are off. I’m not saying you should go full Animal House, but you can enjoy yourself.
Your first option would be to plan your hotel based on the nightlife, whatever that means to you. If you’re at an all-inclusive, look to see if they have a restaurant that requires a reservation and get that reservation as soon as you check-in. The Occidental has a nightclub, and the Landmark has the Monkey Bar.
If you want to hit the town, Cozumel has those options too. It’s not raging like Cancun or Playa, but you can still party till the wee hours of the morning. Favorites include salsa dancing at La Rumba or live music at Dick’s Dive, Woody’s, or Wet Wendy’s. There’s no ‘one-party’, but more like a rolling wave of activity across town. You can bar hop and follow the music across various venues, depending on your personal taste and the day of the week. I would check with your hotel concierge for the live and local take.
Illuminated fountain in Parque Benito Juarez in Cozumel
Day 4 – Explore the Interior of Cozumel
You want an afternoon flight home so you can get your nitrogen loading down, and I’m presuming that you’re up and moving from whatever happened last night. Not that I’m judging. What happens in Mexico…
Let’s assume you’re bright-eyed and bushy-tailed and ready to do something other than diving. There are a couple of adventures that introduce you to the interior of the island.
An easy option is exploring the San Gervasio Ruins. Ancient Mayans took pilgrimages to Cozumel to worship Ix Chel, the goddess of fertility. The San Gervasio Ruins have a unique history, but they don’t rival the magnitude of major sites like Chichen Itza. If these are the only Mayan ruins you’re going to see, or you collect obscure Mayan sites like baseball cards, you absolutely have to go.
If you’re looking for more adventure, consider an ATV trek through the jungle to Jade Caverns. It’s one of the largest cenotes in all of Mexico. You’ll swim in the cenote, travel through El Cedral Village, and see the Coral Cove cave system all on one exciting trip.
The Cozumel inland adventures complete your 4-day / 3-night Cozumel dive itinerary. You’re ready to fly home with a suitcase full of souvenirs and memory stick full of photos that will make all your diving friends jealous.
Diving in Dos Ojos Cenote near Tulum
What Would You Do With an Extra Day in Cozumel?
What should you do if you want to extend your Cozumel literary? Many divers would say you should just dive an extra day on Cozumel. A lot of people come down and dive for an entire week. That’s a great option, but we wanted to throw one more out there, take the fast ferry across to Playa Del Carmen and dive on the mainland.
Here’s the low down on the ferries, Winjet and Ultimar both run ferries between Cozumel and Playa del Carmen. Depending on the schedule of the day, you might get a faster or slower boat. It’s about a 20-minute difference in travel time, so you’ll be better off taking the first available boat. There’s also a car ferry run by Transcaribe out of a different pier that’s much slower, infrequent, and costs more than twice as much. Just take the passenger ferry, and you’ll arrive in the heart of Playa.
There are several unique diving experiences you can take from Playa, cenote diving, and shark diving. We loved diving with Blue Life Diving. They are a short walk from the ferry terminal with top-notch gear and instructors. They offer small group bull shark dives without chumming and cenote trips that depart from the shop. Be aware of your nitrogen loading if this is your final day. Some dives, like Dos Ojos Cenote, are very shallow. Other dives, like Angelita Cenote or shark diving, are much deeper. Communicate your travel needs with the scuba pros at Blue Life to see what they can work out for you. They do offer Nitrox diving, which should decrease your nitrogen load.
Going to Playa offers much more than just another diving experience, you get to enjoy Quinta Avenida. It’s 2.5 miles of shopping, bars, and restaurants only accessible by walking. Honestly, after the first mile, it all starts to look alike. You should definitely check it out, but don’t feel obliged to see the whole thing. If you like fresh fish, tangy guacamole, or tacos al pastor, you’ll love Quinta Avenida. You could easily get your fill of Quinta Avenida on your 15-minute walk from the dock to Blue Life Scuba.

Wrapping Up the Ultimate Cozumel Dive Itinerary
We hope you find your way to the island soon. Between the convenient flights and outstanding visibility, a dive trip to Cozumel should be near the top of your bucket list. When you’re out of the water, you’ll find Mayan ruins, jungle tours, and that unique Mexican Caribbean vibe. Be sure to drop us a line and let us know if this guide was helpful for you.

Where to Stay in Svalbard: Longyearbyen’s Best Hotels, Hostels & Camping Spots
Where are the best hotels in Svalbard?
When I decided to spend a week in Longyearbyen, Svalbard, I didn’t think too much about where to stay. Like I do when planning most trips, I just assumed there’d be a lot of places to choose from.
Not so much.
Svalbard sits at the end of the world, and the main settlement of Longyearbyen is officially the world’s northernmost town. It’s not a big place, though. With a population small enough to be outnumbered by the island’s roaming polar bears, there are only a dozen or so accommodation options – which also means that beds up here can get pretty expensive.
After doing some hasty research I chose to lay my head at the cheap and cheerful Gjestehuset 102 hostel for the duration of my stay in Svalbard – but thanks to doing a lot of walking in Longyearbyen, I also managed to investigate plenty of the other Svalbard hotels, guesthouses, hostels and even a couple of campsites.
So if you’re looking for decent places to stay in Longyearbyen, hopefully this article will help you make your choice.

Accommodation in Longyearbyen, Svalbard
Choosing where to stay in Longyearbyen is one of the biggest potential expenses of your Arctic trip. There are expensive hotels with all the bells and whistles, mid-range guesthouses where quirky design is more of a focus than having a private bathroom, and hostel dorm rooms with bunk beds and communal kitchens.
Alternatively, you can try your luck with Airbnb rentals (sign up here for £25 off your first booking!), or you can even choose a more adventurous sleeping spot and pitch up a tent at the camping grounds close to the airport.
Whatever your budget, there’s an option to suit it – although it’s worth bearing in mind that ‘cheap’ in Svalbard still feels a lot more expensive than elsewhere in the world.
Also an important quirk to remember about life in Svalbard: once you enter any hotel, guesthouse or hostel, you’ll be expected to take off your shoes. This tradition dates back to the old coal mining days where residents wanted to avoid spreading coal dust everywhere; now, you’ll see a big shoe-rack inside virtually every Svalbard business’s doorway. Unlace your boots and get used to wandering around in your socks!
This is box title
My top tip? Make sure to book your accommodation in Svalbard as early as possible. Not only will rooms be cheaper, there’s also the possibility that hotels and hostels will sell out months in advance, particularly in the summer.
High-end and luxury hotels in Longyearbyen
Tourists arrive in Svalbard either by air or sea, so the fanciest hotels are right in the centre of Longyearbyen, close to the port. These properties all have restaurants onsite, employ concierges who will happily organise all your tours and activities around the island, and will essentially take very good care of you.
The Radisson Blu Polar Hotel
The only hotel run by an international chain in Svalbard is the Radisson Blue Polar Hotel. A lot of travellers automatically choose the Blu Polar if they’ve already used and enjoyed Radisson hotels elsewhere in the world, and it’s also the base for many of the tour groups passing through Svalbard.
Now, I’ve never stayed at a Radisson (my backpacker budget doesn’t allow for it!) but when I visited the Blu Polar I was happily surprised at its lack of ‘uppity’ attitude. The hotel is stylish and modern, with low slanted roofs, warm ambient lighting and a gorgeous interior. I spent a happy afternoon at the Radisson Blu Polar with some friends from the expedition ship: we sat in the hotel bar watching sports (not my choice!), eating pizza and drinking beer.

The Funken Lodge (formerly the Spitsbergen Hotel)
The Funken Lodge hotel was originally constructed back in 1947 as accommodation for employees at ‘Store Norske Spitsbergen Kulkompani’ (a Norwegian coal mining company). After a big refurb in 2018 it’s now a tastefully designed place which looks a little like a Swiss lodge from the outside, and sits on a little hill – the height of which provides fantastic views!
I paid a quick visit to the Funken Lodge when a tour bus I was on dropped some passengers here, which gave me a chance to wander into the Funktionærmessen restaurant and gaze through the full-length windows to the snowy mountains beyond. There were guests sipping hot chocolate and it felt like a really cosy place to stay; especially as it’s set a little bit away from the main town, so it feels like you’re in a secluded spot.
Funken Lodge has a conference space for business guests, as well as a gym, sauna and library – but it’s apparently also really kid-friendly. Top marks go to whoever thought up serving fresh waffles to the guests every afternoon!
The Lodge is set back from Longyearbyen town centre, but there are shuttles which transport guests there and back. Alternatively it takes about fifteen minutes to walk.

Hotel Svalbard | The Vault
The Vault hotel is right in the middle of town, a stone’s throw from the Kroa restaurant and close to the red-roofed Svalbard Kirke church. It opened in February 2018 so The Vauilt is a new edition to the Longyearbyen hotel scene. It’s simple, sleek and efficient: 35 compact rooms (mainly doubles, but there are a few single rooms too). They offer a breakfast buffet each morning and there’s a sushi restaurant in the basement.
Hotel Svalbard The Vault is inspired by the Global Seed Vault situated just outside of Longyearbyen (a huge cold storage vault where the world’s seeds are kept). The hotel has lots of information about the vault for guests to read.
Another lovely feature at The Vault is a video display which, throughout the four month darkness over winter, shows the number of days, hours and minutes until the sun comes back!

Mid-range guesthouses in Longyearbyen
In Svalbard, ‘mid-range’ accommodation should be taken with a grain of salt as they’re still pretty expensive. However, the places in this section have more of a unique and individual atmosphere.
Basecamp Trapper’s Lodge, Spitsbergen
Basecamp is an homage to the historical trapper’s lodge it’s built in: the hotel features furniture made from driftwood and it’s decorated with old sealskins, artwork and maps from Arctic history.
The sixteen rooms are each decorated individually, and they can accommodate forty people in total. In keeping with the trapper lodge theme there are no TVs – but the ‘Cognac Attic’ has a glass ceiling for guests to view either the northern lights or the midnight sun, and there’s a pub and restaurant just next door.
The Basecamp Trapper’s Lodge is run by ‘Basecamp Explorer’, a company which operates five different eco-lodges in Svalbard including ‘the North Pole Camp’, a tented camp which changes location; a trapper’s old teepee hut amongst a hundred husky dogs; and the Isfjord Radio Hotel (mentioned later in this article).

Mary-Ann’s Polar Rigg
From the moment you walk towards the wooden boat which fronts Mary-Ann’s Polarrigg, you know you’re heading somewhere unique.
These atmospheric apartments are located inside three rigs surrounding a courtyard. There’s the mining rig, with standard single and double rooms inside; the transportation rig, which houses both luxe rooms and the spa and sauna; and the luxury rig, home to the ultra-fancy Polar Suite (£657 a night, year round).
The Polarrigg’s common area has an open fire burning, comfy sofas and thick patterned rugs and carpets everywhere. Just outside, there’s a smoking shelter in an old red miner’s bus (and the outdoor hot tub is close by too!).
Breakfast in the Shang Po-lar dining room each morning includes waffles and a typical Norwegian spread of meats and cheese and breads (140NOK). Check out the museum-like artefacts on the walls which come from the early mining days in Svalbard.
But it’s dinner at the Polarrig which gets everyone talking. The gorgeous Vinterhagen Restaurant feels like you’ve stepped into a conservatory: there’s plants hanging everywhere, underfloor heating and full glass windows and roof! They serve Thai dishes as well as more locally inspired Norwegian and Arctic meals like reindeer steak, Arctic trout, cod tongue and whale tartar…
Like all the other hotels in Svalbard, the on-site restaurant isn’t just reserved for guests – so if you don’t book a night’s stay at the Polarrigg you can still enjoy an evening at Vinterhagen.

Budget hostels in Longyearbyen
The budget options in Longyearbyen are the Coal Miner’s Cabins and Gjestehuset, both in a little area called Nybyen which is 2km from Longyearbyen’s centre (so it takes about half an hour to walk).
There’s plenty of transport available in Svalbard, although no public transit system. Instead, there are taxis and bus pick-ups for all tours, and a shuttle bus which gets you to the airport before your flight, or which drops you at your hotel from the airport.
Coal Miners Cabins
These two-storey buildings used to be barracks for the coal miners, but they’ve now been renovated into seventy bedrooms with eight shared bathrooms along the corridors. The hotel also has a main unit where the reception, restaurant and bar are all located.
The Coal Miners Cabins is a simple, clean hotel with a Norwegian breakfast buffet on offer every morning. The Coal Miner Grill is open to the public for lunch and dinner – it’s the original mess hall and was probably my favourite place to spend my evenings (they have delicious burgers and plenty of locally brewed beer on tap too).
One of the regulars at Coal Miners Grill is a stuffed polar bear named Nanook who props up the bar and hangs out with guests at their tables. Buy him a drink if you spot him!
If you’re trying to stick to a budget, the Coal Miners Cabins also has a kitchen with utensils, fridge and oven. There are travellers of all ages staying here as it’s probably the most reasonably priced place for what’s on offer!
Check availability at Coal Miner’s Cabins | prices start at £67pp
Gjestehuset 102, Svalbard
Opposite the Coal Miner’s Cabins is Gjestehuset 102, Longyearbyen’s only official hostel, which is also built inside a miner’s cabin. There are shared bathrooms and sixty one beds in total, spread throughout single rooms, double rooms and a few four-bed dorms: I stayed in a dorm and had plenty of space to store my sizeable suitcase, along with a sink and a mirror.
The price includes breakfast in the communal kitchen each morning – a lovely spread of cereals, toast, meat, cheese and salad – and there’s free coffee and tea available all day and night.
When I first arrived in Longyearbyen, fresh off my expedition ship, it was only 10am and I couldn’t check into my dorm room until 2pm. Luckily Gjesterhuset has a little communal room with a TV and comfy chairs where I happily hung out for a couple hours and caught up on all the internet I’d missed over the last week!
Gjesterhuset 102 is Longyearbyen’s cheapest accommodation option, but it’s a perfectly adequate place to stay. For meals you can either buy groceries in the local supermarket and store them in the fridge, or head to the Coal Miners Grill just opposite.
Book a room at Gjesterhuset 102 hostel | prices start at £40pp
Camping in Svalbard
Most people visiting Svalbard choose to sleep indoors – but for some hardy travellers, camping outside in these stunning landscapes makes total sense.
You can open up your tent each morning to see reindeer grazing, terns swooping and the occasional Arctic fox scampering past. Just don’t forget your eye mask to block out the midnight sun!

Longyearbyen Camping Ground
About 300 metres from the airport car park and down a steep track is Longyearbyen Camping. It’s effectively ‘on the tundra’: there’s a lagoon beside it which is popular with nesting Arctic terns, and reindeer and Arctic foxes both roam the area too.
This is Longyearbyen’s original camping site, set up in 1976 just after the Svalbard airport was opened and people began to wild camp in the area. The local government built a toilet and shower block plus a fully equipped kitchen and an outdoor fire pit for grilling, and it’s been popular ever since. Facilities are only open to the public when there’s no frost on the ground, but you can still theoretically camp here year-round – just bear in mind there’ll be no access to running water or electricity in that case!
You don’t have to lug all your camping gear to Svalbard, either— the site rents out tents, sleeping bags and insulation mats for use. Tent rental is 180 NOK (£18) per night, and it costs 150 NOK (£15) per person to stay at the site (children under 13 stay free of charge). There are also bikes to rent so you can cycle into the town centre.
Perhaps most wonderfully, anyone who stays at Longyearbyen Camping is also able to hang out with the Arctic Naked Bathing Club. If you want an official certificate and your name in the logbook, rules state that you have to both take a swim and dive into the Arctic sea without your clothes, and a staff member at the camping site has to watch you do it.
I did my own Arctic plunge in Svalbard and can guarantee it’s just as freezing and exhilarating as you’d imagine!
NB: If you’re planning to hire a tent, you’ll need to reserve it before arriving (just visit Longyearbyen Camping’s website for info). The camping site only accepts cash, but there are ATMs in Longyearbyen town centre if you need them.
Other places to stay on Svalbard
If you’re keen to explore the Russian side of Svalbard, Barentsburg and Pyramiden are fascinating places.
Both Russian mining settlements, they differ significantly: Barentsburg is home to around 500 Russian and Ukrainian coal miners and their families, while Pyramiden is effectively a ghost town – it was hurriedly abandoned in 1998 and the buildings have been left to the Arctic elements ever since.
Strangely enough, both settlements have two accommodation options on offer despite their differing populations. Pyramiden has the Hotel Tulpan and the Pier Hostel, while Barentsburg has the Hotel Barentsburg and the Pomor Hostel.

It’s cheaper to stay in Barentsburg than in Longyearbyen, so plenty of tourists find themselves at Hotel Barentsburg, a comfortable place (albeit a bit old-fashioned) with 43 rooms throughout the building’s four storeys.
There’s an onsite restaurant with a great view of the Grønfjord bay to the north and views of Olaf Mountain to the south. They serve up both European and Russian cuisine for breakfast (100 NOK), lunch (200 NOK), and dinner (150 NOK).
The Barentsburg Hotel is a great place to base yourself while exploring the Russian mining settlement. Tourist favourites include the Orthodox wooden church (recently restored), the famous Lenin statue (second northernmost in the world, as the top spot goes to a similar bust in Pyramiden), the Pomor Museum, and a small smattering of street art.
In the evenings, there are Russian shows in the theatre with folk songs and dances, and live music on the weekends – or the bar at Hotel Barentsburg has Russian cognac and vodka on offer.

Pomor Hostel, Barentsburg
Pomor Hostel is housed inside another classic-looking Soviet building. There are thirty rooms with seventy two beds in total for pretty reasonable prices: a twin room costs 600 NOK (£55/$70) and a triple room is 800 NOK (£74/$93).
Guests share bathrooms and shower cabins which are dotted along the corridors, and there are washing and drying machines which can be used for free too. There’s a kitchen attached to Pomor Hostel, but if you don’t fancy cooking then the Red Bear Pub & Brewery across the road serves meals and drinks.

Basecamp Isfjord Radio Adventure Hotel
Welcome to the most isolated Svalbard hotel of all: the Basecamp Isfjord Radio Hotel.
As you might expect from its name, the Isfjord Radio Hotel is built inside a radio station which once linked the inhabitants of Svalbard with the Norwegian mainland. It’s 90km from Longyearbyen and extremely remote – but although it still looks rough on the outside, the Isfjord has been totally transformed within.
There’s a sauna with a panoramic view of the ocean, a library filled with Arctic literature, and restaurant which serves beautifully prepared food caught by one of the few remaining trappers in Svalbard. If you’ve ever wanted to re-live Svalbard’s traditional trapping days, this is where to do it.
The ‘adventure’ aspect of this luxury boutique hotel lies in the difficulty required to reach it: there’s no road connection, so you arrive either on dog sled in the winter or by boat in the summer (there are daily boat trips from both Barentsburg and Longyearbyen).
The Basecamp Isfjord Hotel also offers a weekly adventure program with expert guides who take guests on birdwatching expeditions and wildlife spotting trips – searching for seals, whales and even polar bears.
Check for availability at Isfjord Radio Hotel | Prices start at £209pp

The Tulpan Hotel, Pyramiden
Have you ever wanted to spend the night in the northernmost ghost town in the world? If your answer is a resounding, “YES!” then you’re in luck: Pyramiden’s original Tulpan Hotel is open to guests from March to October, and it’s one of the few operational buildings left in Pyramiden, Svalbard’s abandoned Russian mining settlement.
The Tulpan Hotel has 24 twin rooms – some in a modern design and some more Soviet-style – and guests can stay for full or half board. There’s a restaurant on the first floor which serves breakfast (150 NOK), lunch (250 NOK) and dinner (200 NOK).
As you might expect in an abandoned town with less than a dozen residents, the hotel bar is open until 2am – and they have a LOT of vodka.
Prices from £75pp for a Soviet-style single room | Check for availability at the Hotel Tulpan

The Pier Hostel, Pyramiden
For Pyramiden visitors on a tighter budget, there’s a rudimentary accommodation choice at the Pier Hostel,  just beside the port. Inside three cabins they have twelve bunk beds on offer, along with a shower, toilet and electric stove. The Pier Hostel is probably akin to sleeping inside a shipping container, but still has the necessities – and the location offers a stunning view of the fjord and the Nordenskiöld glacier in the distance.
For 300 NOK you’ll get a bed with included bed linen. Tip: It’s better value to book the whole cabin! If you stay at the Pier Hostel you can order your meals up at Hotel Tulpan (a 10 to 15 minute walk away) but you’ll need a gun to fend off unexpected polar bears (seriously – it’s the law).
Book a room at Pier Hostel | Prices start at £28pp

Where To Stay In Iceland: Best Hotels In Reykjavik & Beyond
The Best Places to Stay in Iceland
Accommodation In Iceland
Iceland has become an incredibly popular travel destination over the last few years. Learn where to stay in Iceland for your vacation including the best hotels, budget hostels, and campgrounds.
As I’m sure you’re already aware by now, Iceland is an incredible holiday destination for all types of people, from families to adventurous solo travelers.
While flights have become increasingly cheap, food & lodging however are not.
There are tons of unique places to stay in Iceland due to its diverse scenery, and every time I visit I find something new to experience, which makes it one of my favorite countries.
Best Places To Stay In Iceland
When it comes to finding a place to stay in Iceland, hotels can be on the expensive side, and there aren’t a lot of options compared to other countries. Hotels can get booked up months in advance, especially during the high season.
It’s important to book your accommodation in Iceland early to get the best deals.
In this guide, I’ll cover everything from budget backpacker hostels to luxury Reykjavik hotels, family-owned farms, campgrounds, and even campervan rentals — you’ll learn exactly where to stay in Iceland to have a great time.
Reykjavik Iceland Hotel Guide
Where To Stay In Reykjavik
Reykjavik is the capital of Iceland, and where most travelers base themselves from initially. The city welcomes guests with a cosmopolitan mix of restaurants, cafes, street-art, museums and tour company headquarters.
The busy heart of Reykjavik is the Miðborg neighborhood, especially Laugavegur Street, where you’ll find shopping, restaurants, nightlife and all sorts of fun things to do.
If you want to be where all the action is, stay close to Laugavegur Street. But there are some other great neighborhoods in Reykjavik too, which I share below.
Here are my suggestions for the top hotels, hostels, and campgrounds in Reykjavik depending on your budget.

Golden Circle Hotel Guide
Where To Stay On The Golden Circle – Selfoss & Hveragerði
The Golden Circle is a circular 300km route that takes you from the capital city of Reykjavik towards the center of Iceland, and back again in a single day. It’s the perfect introduction to Iceland if you’re short on time or on a layover.
From ancient historical sites to beautiful natural landmarks, the Golden Circle has a bit of everything. You can join an organized tour of the Golden Circle or rent a car and self-drive at your own pace.
Most people base themselves from Reykjavik for this drive, however, you can also spend the night somewhere along the Golden Circle. The towns of Selfoss and Hveragerði are good options for this.
Here are my suggestions for the top hotels, hostels, and campgrounds on the Golden Circle depending on your budget.

Where to Stay in Vik, South Iceland
Where To Stay On Iceland’s South Coast – Vik
Iceland’s South Coast is filled with natural wonders, making it perfect for an adventure outside the capital. If you’re driving around the entire Ring Road on Route 1, this is usually the next stop after a trip around the Golden Circle.
The South Coast is home to some of Iceland’s most famous waterfalls, like Seljalandfoss and Skogafoss. Reynisfjara Black Beach, Sólheimajökull Glacier, and the Eyjafjallajokull Volcano are other highlights.
One of the larger towns tourists stop at is called Vik [MAP], with many different lodging options, restaurants, and activities nearby. So it’s a great place to stay for a night or two.
Here are my suggestions for the top hotels, hostels, and campgrounds along Iceland’s South Coast depending on your budget.

Best Iceland Hotels Near Hofn
Where To Stay Near The Glacier Lagoon – Hofn
Continuing your drive on Iceland’s Ring Road, you’ll eventually reach the fishing village of Höfn. Höfn means “harbor” because it sits on one of the few natural harbors found in Iceland. This is the next major town after Vik, about a 4-hour drive away.
While four hours doesn’t seem like much, there’s so much to do in between these two Icelandic towns on the South Coast that you can easily spend a full day on activities, and may want to spend a night here.
Hofn is the town closest to Jökulsárlón glacier lagoon and Vatnajokull National Park. Watching the sunrise from Jökulsárlón was one of the highlights of my trip, so you might want to sleep nearby.
Here are my suggestions for the top hotels, hostels, and campgrounds near Hofn and the glacier lagoon depending on your budget.

Stay in a Campervan!
Renting A Campervan In Iceland
There are many ways to explore Iceland. Most people rent a car while staying in hotels, or rent a campervan while sleeping in the vehicle. Convenience is one of the main reasons people choose to rent a campervan.
Once you’ve rented the vehicle, you can start driving and exploring the country on your own terms. It’s a lot easier to find a campground with space for your van than it is to book a last minute hotel in Iceland.
Renting a campervan in Iceland can save you a lot of time and money. You can prepare your own food on the go and save money on accommodation. It also gives you a lot of flexibility to change your plans anytime you want.
But life on the road might take its toll, especially if you have small kids. Not all campervans will have a toilet and you might definitely miss showering on a regular basis.
The weather depends on luck and what time of year you visit Iceland. A worst case scenario is that you might have to cook in the rain, snow, or deal with high winds and cold temperatures.
I’ve traveled around Iceland both ways, and if you’d like to rent a campervan in Iceland, I highly recommend Happy Campers.
