one of my favourite things about tma is that Annabelle is described as ‘looking like a film student’ and as someone who went to a dedicated film college it gets a laugh out of me because she could look anywhere from crawled out of the incinerator from Toy Story or look like something that would result from dropping a Japanese fashion subculture in joker acid

because my most intense interests throughout my life have tended to seem a little strange to most people, i did - reasonably - conclude that if i started going on tangents or getting excited or knowing too much about odd subjects, whoever i'm talking to would be taken aback or unnerved or unhappy. but i typically wanted to talk about slaughterhouses or free trade agreements or silmarillion rock operas or chemical weapons more than i cared how people reacted, and so i'd do it anyway. which was in its way good, because i've also been able to observe that even if people think you're strange, enough of them will also be interested or at least bemused by you, and sometimes they'll even turn out to also be very keen on the subject and gladly go down the rabbit hole with you. twice in the last two weeks i have let myself start talking with great excitement about supply chains and the people i was talking to also got very excited and revealed they too were obsessed with this to some degree. like yes some people are not going to want to hear what you have to say and tbh some people are going to prefer if you say nothing ever. but i do find that taking the chance and just letting yourself be sincere and not holding back all the time is worth the risk

Cyclonus is the best post-'86 movie character and I honestly love his original design so I decided he can switch between it and the final at will
it flips like a coin instead of spinning a globe and I call it his "war face"
he voluntarily changes to it when he gets angry or is preparing to fight. there's no personality change nor does he become angry when he switches to it, it just serves to frighten enemies or express himself better. his voice does get scarier, tho

On September 24, 2013, the MCU officially crossed over into TV with the pilot for Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. To help with the transition, the episode starred Clark Gregg's character Phil Coulson, who was already an MCU recurring character (though officially dead) and also featured Colbie Smulders returning in her role as Agent Maria Hill. The episode brought Deathlok and Daisy Johnson/Quake into the MCU, though neither were revealed as such at the time. The first team that was formed in this episode was made up of Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg), Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen), Grant Ward (Brett Dalton), Skye/Daisy Johnson (Chloe Bennet), Leo Fitz (Iian De Caestecker), and Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge). y'all im sorry but can we talk about how much of a dork conan looks like-
like our boy is out here regularly wearing suspenders & shorts combo with a red bowtie and oversized glasses. also his uncommon foreign name?? he's just ASKING to be made fun of
if you aren't familiar with the story there's No Way you'd think to take him seriously,, but somehow despite everything he's literally the coolest guy ever and Everyone loves him. like he really does live up to the "cool guy/kid" name, but no one would believe that by looks alone

141 and their fav birds
I'm a bird photographer, so here's some thoughts (lol I know nobody else thinks about birds like this but whatever, just let me have my fun)
Price - Eurasian Goshawk! Feels a kinship over their shared fiercely protective temperaments. These birds have the strength and power Price wants to emulate as a captain.
Gaz - Hooded Crow! He rescued and raised a baby hooded crow when he was a kid. He appreciates their intelligence and easily makes friends with any he comes across.
Ghost - Barn Owls! He likes the dichotomy of their near-silent flying and scream-like calls. Also Turkey Vultures, for their visual and dietary aesthetic of course.
Soap - Eurasian Oystercatcher! They remind him of home (I headcanon that he grew up on the coast). And their color palette is a bit reminiscent of a certain Lieutenant's...
Roach - Pheonix! Technically not a real bird, but I think Roach likes the idea of rebirth through fire. But I also think he might be scared of birds lol.
Pics of the birds below!

so we’ve established by now that we’ve all acquired an inner Senshi that tells us to eat properly and an inner Chilchuck that tells us to be mindful of our rights in the workplace, but what about Laios and Marcille? their self-care schticks are a little bit more abstract than the other two, so I’m curious as to what everyone’s learning from them

After the first pilot was rejected, Star Trek was almost completely recast with the exception of Mr Spock (Leonard Nimoy). The first episode of Star Trek aired on September 8, 1966. While The Man Trap was the first episode to air, it was actually the 6th one produced. Supposedly it was chosen as having more action than the other episodes. It was also supposedly one of the least favorites of Leonard Nimoy and William Shattner. The episode took place during 2266 (eleven years after the events of The Cage, which was the original pilot and later recut as The Menagerie). The episode introduced Captain James T Kirk (William Shatner), Dr McCoy (DeForest Kelley), Yeoman Janice Rand (Grace Lee Whitney), Sulu (George Takei), Uhura (Nichelle Nichols), and (off screen) Montgomery Scott (James Doohan).
