Images are the way one might present themself, whether it's socially, physically, or anything else. Images can be either a desired facade, or maybe something that is forced upon someone. Images can change overtime. Peoples' views of others can and will change. Sometimes that's hard to accept. In this case, Angel Dust is going through this image-change.

Angel Dust takes pride in his image-- or rather, his semblance. He's known as the hot, slutty, irresistible porn demon that everyone wanted to have inside of them. It has been this way since the start of his career as a prostitute working for the infamous lust overlord, Valentino. Nevertheless, his reputation had a change that was quite inevitable for the spider.

Although it was extremely uncommon, the demon found himself tangled in something that both he and society deemed impossible. He had gotten pregnant. This news came as a major shock to both himself and those in whom he told. That was months ago. Two, to be exact.

The arachnid-demon was now in the late stages of his second trimester, at around 26 weeks (6 months). This pregnancy was not treating Angel well by any means. Angel, who was used to a fast-paced, energetic lifestyle, had to either change or leave many things that he used to take part in, behind. Drugs, alcohol, and sex were things that the demon partook in on a daily basis. They were addictions, you could say, and having to drop all three, minus sex due to the nature his job, was nothing short of difficult for Angel.

He also struggled with both the physical and emotional changes that came with the pregnancy. Intense mood swings due to his hormonal levels often times left him in places that even he didn't want to be in himself. Not to mention the changes within his body. In his first trimester, he has developed a mild form of hyperemesis gravidarum, which confined him to the couch most of the time. The lack of activity was absolutely wretched for the demon, since he was used to being active all day.

Although Angel had to engage in these extra precautions due to the pregnancy, he wasn't alone in this. Charlie, Vaggie, Nifty and the others (-Alastor) all did their part in taking care of him. Albeit, Angel thought of Husk to be his biggest help in this whole situation.

Husker, who was also the soon-to-be-father of the little demon spawn, had been Angel's biggest beam of support throughout the entire ordeal. Whether it was giving Angel a soothing back rub in the middle of the night, or waiting up for him on the nights that he worked late, Husk was always there, even in Angel's darkest times. Angel appreciated these gestures beyond something that he could explain in words, and often it prompted him to apologize profusely to Husk, in which was returned by gentle reassurances. Husk always made sure to let Angel know that no matter the circumstances, that he would always be there for him.

However, despite their extremely close relationship and Husker's promises of comfort, protection, and support for Angel, there were some things that Angel struggled with mentally that Husk couldn't realize.

LawLight Polls - Opening January 25, 2024

Additional big thank you to all authors who replied. I was going to try to find a way to include each other who gave permission/interacted a work vs. work poll - but INSTEAD, I will just be ensuring that they are showcased in the polls yet to come.

As a general reminder, don't be a dick. Fanfiction author's work for free. Read them, give them some love, they are both amazing stories and deserve all the praise in the world.

What will the polls look like in the future?

I have changed the format so that the polls will focus on Lawlight tropes. Each poll will have my own recommended Fan Fics in that category, and I will invite others to showcase any stories that they recommend in either of the tropes.

For example:

Politician Light vs. Detective Light

L played a character to trick Light vs. L is exactly the unkempt genius he portrays himself to be

Yotsuba Arc vs. Alternate Universe

This way we can include short fics and longfics all in one. It doesn't require me to have to review and search for tropes in each story (as long as I know the ones that I've read myself) (this is so I don't get overworked again and die).

***To avoid any possibility of thinking that the polls are merely a circular way of comparing two specific works, my own suggestions will always include as many as possible. They are to be used as reference, not as a "one or the other". ***

This was, in my opinion, the best way to respect the majority of author's works and wishes.

From my experience of myself and speaking to other fanfic author's, the idea of people talking about and recommending their fanfic is awesome, but the idea of using it as a competition is unnecessary stress or possible other ick feelings.

From hereforth, I will do my best to have as many discussions and recommendations about Lawlight fic as possible in ways that makes everyone as happy as possible!

How will my fanfic recommendations be included in the polls?

This may change around. When I first had the idea, I wanted to make an indexed list. - obviously when you go on A03 there are tropes and you are able to look things up yourself. However, I wanted to make an index that would help with the themes we might have a hard time explaining.

Such as, "L is playing a part vs. L is actually the weirdo he is as displayed in the show".

All this to say, I want to save them and make record of them, but I don't know how well an actual indexed concept would work. So then - I introduce - HELLO IT WILL BE A MESS BUT I WILL SHOWCASE THEM TO MY BEST ABILITIES.

For each trope, any recommended Fanfictions that came in, they will all be shared along with the final poll Re-Blog.

This will be lined up fairly simple. Trope 1: [List underneath] Trope 2: [List underneath]

What is even the point of your recommendations if others are expected to also share their favourites in that trope?

I feel like after all of this work and reading if I didn't share some of my favourites it would be weird.

If no one else has said it by now, let me be the first to give you a warm welcome to 2023! I a nice few weeks over the end of the year!

Now then... Ahem.

I just realized that I told all of you that I would be uploading a chapter on the 9th. The 9th is a Monday. I don't even upload chapters on Mondays! This is how you know I can't read calendars. I completely goofed that. I got the initial two week break part correct more or less, but something in my brain must have switched off for me to screw that one up. I can only apologize.

I came on here to give you guys an update on my hand and how it's been impacting my typing speed and just realized that I gave you guys a completely wrong date. Sorry about that!

So then, the update with my hand. I can't type that fast because of the burns (which are thankfully rapidly healing) I just don't want to stress them because my injured hands gets tired easily. And sore. The skin is kind of stiff which makes it a little harder to type, but as the new skin is growing in and the old skin is being removed, I'm slowly getting back up to speed. Very gradually. In an effort to not overextend myself for the time being in allow for me to properly heal and not do further damage to myself that could be permanent, I'm only going to upload for Fridays for these weeks:

January 20th, January 27th, and February 3rd.

I'm certain that by then I'll be able to actually type since my hand is recovering quickly. But I just want to make sure. And for anyone wondering about the nerve part the injury: Good news! No permanent damage! Thankfully it was just the surface of the nerve and not a deep nerve, so nothing was severed or anything like that. It was only damaged just enough to hurt like hell smh!

The chapter upload for January 20th will be a Elden V chapter, and the chapters for January 27th and February 3rd will both be Petrichor chapters. Since the Elden V chapters are easier to write, I figured I would start with one of those to get my bearings. Thank you all so much for your well wishes! I've been using Google Assistant to help me write a lot of the chapters recently because it's easier to write with my voice than it is with my hands, so please excuse any glaring spelling errors or punctuation mishaps. My phone thinks it knows what I'm saying better than I do, and my dyslexia brain makes editing slow and ineffective hehe!
