Kakashi's dream is really simple. World peace and all the ppl he loves alive and happy. So it wouldn't just be about Obito, Rin and Minato, it would also be about a living respected appreciated and loved Sakumo who everyone still sees as the great hero he is, Minato would be the Hokage who finally brought peace to the Ninja world and he would be training Obito to be his successor so the Uchiha massacre would never happen either which means Sasuke and Itachi would be both happy as well which means neither Sasuke nor Itachi would ever become rouge ninja, Naruto would grow up with both of his parents and would have a happy childhood. And as much as I don't really ship Obirin but judging by how the first thing that came up to Kakashi's mind when Rin confessed her love to him was telling her that he didn't deserve her love and that Obito loved her more than the world so I think in Kakashi's Tsukuyomi dream, Rin might get over her feelings for Kakashi and would be in a relationship with Obito because Kakashi believed that Obito can make Rin happy and that he's the one who actually deserved her love not him and ofc he also knew that Obito loved her so in his mind them being together would mean that they both would be happy. And I think his dream would also have a happy Tenzo who had a better childhood and has never grown up in ROOT manipulated by Danzo as a result of Minato succeeding in achieving the peaceful world he dreamed of without the corruption of the likes of Danzo and Orochimaru. And it would also have Gai who never lost his dad either and Kakashi would be friends with him much much earlier too because his friendship with Gai is one of the things that Kakashi really appreciates so in his dream he would realize a lot earlier that Gai would be such a great friend. He would still be the sensei of team 7 because he really really loves those kids and I don't think he would ever give them up in his dream and it would make sense too because Obito would be busy being Minato's successor, Rin would be a great medic Ninja so that leaves him to his kids, the only difference is that they wouldn't be traumatized, trying to kill each other or leave the village or anything like that. Also, I think it would also have Asuma alive, raising his child with Kurenai.

and like I always say, yes there is a genuine if not quite the way they portray it friendship between Lando and Carlos! it's the same as Lando has with other drivers but rpf girlies just don't find them as yaoi or they aren't as hot for those guys. and I enjoy all their interaction in the not-insane privacy of my own head where rpf and reality have nice solid lines alsfsljafg. but it also reminds me how much I love that Lando and Oscar never went for any of this PR bullshit and have actually wanted to develop a genuine relationship without fan/McLaren/Netflix/TV network involvement. at no point does Lando turn to gimmicks with Oscar when he needs a PR boost even tho he could easily do so with McLaren's help and Oscar is a solidly safe bet bc he's considered so inoffensive and loved now.

but they won't jump on their ship name, they won't play gay for attention and engagement, they don't create any memes or soundbites, and the sweet and fun things they do aren't buzzworthy or contrived into a bromance format that fans are cultivated to recognize. some fans know Oscar helps Lando's brain sometimes, they get on the same wavelength and have nonverbal communication, they respect and support each other even when there's a huge disparity of outcome in a weekend, and they both genuinely love making the other laugh. like, none of that is something you can stick on a sm graphic and guarantee the kinds of numbers the bromances get. Netflix even made a joke about how they couldn't create a narrative around them even when they openly begged to make it happen salfgsaljfgla.

nobody in PR is at all intrigued by these two guys cautiously getting to know each other and cultivating a unique and unlikely positive and healthy team atmosphere together. there's no handy orchestrated narrative there. McLaren social media occasionally roll with the 'twinning' thing but even that isn't gimmicky enough and it's more about them being on the same wavelength than them actually being identical in any way. even the Oscar nickname thing has been unconsciously taken from fans by Lando bc he only said it the first time without thinking and from there he's kept it as something that just makes them both smile AND has even changed it up when fans started co-opting it too much. and neither of them pull it out in random interviews to try and create a buzz about it.

and whenever we get a dry spot in landoscar content or for the millionth time hear about them hanging out and not posting it - it's worth remembering that we're also not getting the 1D/BTS rpf truther pipeline fans showing up and that no one will try and conspiracy theory Lily into a beard/fake/bitch/leech or even decide to dislike her !! and we don't have to realize ah, they're only hanging out or talking about each other to manipulate fan engagement for a double purpose. they're either together or mentioning each other bc of their job and otherwise it's bc they genuinely like each other.

so i saw a long ass reblog under an anti-sylki blog that started off as something like "actually loki & sylvie has good romance chemistry meanwhile loki & mobius doesn't have any romance chemistry at all"🤓– and in this moment i went "alright best frien i'm not reading all that" then went to block instead of arguing.

didn't try reading that bullshit of a post further either just to anger myself, i know better.

i especially didn't wanna argue cuz i think that was a child..??? And there was Jang Wonyoung, the most popular and romantically solicited girl in the entire high school, shaking on her feet in front of her best friend, Ahn Yujin, who was currently trying to encourage her to confess to her crush... anonymously.

She was holding an envelope, very similar to the too many ones she had received today from her admirers, but compared to the others, hers was pink—her crush's favorite color—and it had some crayon hearts as decorations that she drew herself. Wonyoung ran her thumb over it, feeling the fiber texture under her fingertip as she, unconsciously, bit her lip, feeling anxious.

Her high school had this corny tradition of putting anonymous confession letters inside their crush's locker once every year, and just like in past years, she received a lot of them. Last year, she had recognized some handwriting on the letters, mostly from guys, but she wasn't interested in them, or anyone, to be fair. Until she happened this year.

Shin Yuna, the girl from her art class. She knew Yuna was a year older than her; she was repeating a year. She knew Yuna was friends with some seniors: Hwang Yeji, Lia Choi, Shin Ryujin, and Chaeyeon's little sister, Lee Chaeryeong. She also knew that Yuna was an excellent artist, who had a burning passion for it, and Wonyoung realized it when one day she observed caught Yuna drawing under a tree that was far from the other students during one of their breaks. Yuna was also part of the dance club where Yujin was too, and in Yujin's words, she was great, better than great.

Wonyoung knew her favorite color, her favorite food, her favorite music, her favorite piece of clothing, her hobbies, her friends, and her favorite places to hang out.

Wonyoung knew too much about Yuna, but had never talked to her, not even said hello to her. But she wasn't a creep, was she?

She received a lot of attention in the past, a lot of validation and praise from men and women equally, and she was confident in herself, but now, she wasn't. Not about this.

Could I really do it? No, she didn't think so.

"But I can't! I really can't!" she cried in defeat, her arms dropping, looking at Yujin hopelessly.

"Look, Wonyoung," Yujin grabbed her shoulders, making Wonyoung look her in the eyes as she spoke, "You can do this, I know you can, I've known you since we were kids, so I know what I'm talking about. You've been pining and drooling over this girl for way too long, and you need to confess now, or you're going to regret it after not doing it, and it's anonymous anyway! How would she know it was you who wrote that?"

Wonyoung frowned. "I don't know how that last part is supposed to make me feel better, but I'll take it, I guess."

Yujin let go of her shoulders and sighed loudly, almost grunting. "This is her first time experiencing this tradition, she'll probably be curious to know who wrote this for her, especially if it's from a girl,” she said with a smirk on her lips and then winked at her best friend. “You did specify that, right?"

Wonyoung rolled her eyes. "Yeah, yeah, I think I did. Maybe you're right."

"Of course I'm right, I'm always right." Yujin spoke with a cocky smile. This made Wonyoung roll her eyes again, but this time she was smiling, clearly amused by her best friend's behavior. "Now go leave her the letter, she's out of sight. See you at the cafeteria, Wonnie! You got this!" Yujin chanted as she started to go in a different direction from Wonyoung, leaving for the place where their other friends were.

Wonyoung was left alone in the lockers, with no one there. She took a few breaths in and out to keep her anxiety down, and then she walked towards a locker. A locker, that if you were a fool or new, you wouldn't recognize, but who wouldn't recognize Shin Yuna’s locker with the sparkly hot pink hearts and adorable bunny and cat stickers all over its door?

She took another breath once she was in front of it, making a “whoo” sound when she exhaled, and then, she took the courage to slide the letter through the vent of Yuna's locker, making a soft sound as the paper fell on metal.

It was done. She actually did it. Her heart was drumming against her ear, but she felt it in her throat, her eyes widened as she stared at the locker of her crush, she was freaking out now.

But it felt great; fear and anxiety started to get overshadowed by joy and pride. She smiled proudly at herself, with surprise still drawn on her face, and then she started to walk to the cafeteria where her friends were waiting for her. She tried to muffle the happy sounds that wanted to come out of her mouth; her steps were fast-paced as she knew she had some good news for her friends.

She did it.

“I did it!” she exclaimed, almost screaming, as she stopped in front of the table her friends were currently having lunch at. “I fucking did it, guys!”

“Did what?” Yena asked, visibly confused, with her mouth full as she was munching on a french fry.

“Did you leave her the letter?” Yujin asked this time, watching excitedly at her best friend.

Wonyoung sat beside her where there was a space for her, and nodded to answer Yujin's question. “I did it, Jinnie!” she whispered-screamed at Yujin, making them both giggle like little kids.

“Did you leave Shin Yuna a letter?”

“Wait, Shin Yuna?” Yuri said, her frown contrasting with Nako’s excitement. “You like and confessed to Shin Yuna?”

“Yes, don't you feel good for me?” Wonyoung was confused, she couldn't figure out why Yuri was looking at her like that.

“No, yes, I do feel good for you, and I'm proud of you, Wonyoung, but I didn't know you liked her and if I knew…” Yuri sighed. “Did you at least put something in the letter, like a clue or something, to give away that it was from you?”

“Yes, I did specify that I was…” her words were cut off by a sight far away from her but so clear in her vision. A sight of Yuna, with Wonyoung's letter in her hand, walking towards someone else: a guy, who she recognized very well, Huening Kai. She was sure that everyone in the place could perfectly hear her heart shattering like fragile glass as she watched that moment, when her crush hugged someone else, “... a girl,” she finished her sentence weakly, her lips feeling heavy, her whole body feeling heavy as the news presented in front of her.

She liked Yuna, but Yuna didn't like her back.

“Wonyoung…” She could hear Yuri’s voice saying her name with worry, with pity. Wonyoung didn't need that; she needed to get out of there.

She got up from her seat feeling numb, carrying her heavy bleeding heart with her. She could hear someone calling her name and felt their presence following her, but she didn't care. She kept running.

Wonyoung got out of the place successfully but failed at holding back a sob that she didn't know she was fighting to hide the whole way through the cafeteria.

“Wonyoung, wait!” Yujin's voice was clearer now. Way too clear, too much noise. She had to keep running.

But then, she felt her best friend's hand stopping her by pulling her by her arm, and like a habit, she found shelter in Yujin's arms as she let herself cry on her shoulder. “Shh, it'll be okay, Wonnie, I'm here for you.”

Wonyoung let her tears fall as she felt them burn the skin of her cheeks, her sobs making their way out not caring if anyone heard her. Yujin patted her head and held her shaking body tightly, trying to calm her down, as Wonyoung continued to unleash the pain in her heart for a few more minutes. Then, she felt the broken-hearted girl let go of her embrace. Yujin's heart squeezed empathetically when she finally saw Wonyoung’s puffy red eyes staring into hers, still shining with tears that didn't come out and her cheeks just as damp as the fabric covering Yujin's shoulder.

“Hey, it's okay,” Yujin spoke softly to her best friend as she tried to wipe her cheeks, but the tears that had been strained in her eyes finally fell without any effort, undoing Yujin's work.

“It's not! How could I be so stupid? I was so nervous and so distracted when I wrote it that I forgot to specify it was a letter from a girl,” Wonyoung's voice came out weak and shaky, but nasally and whiny, she felt defeated and dumb. “And now, she thinks her actual crush wrote that for her. She likes that Kai guy and he probably likes her back; you saw how they hugged.”

“You sure? ‘Cause I think he likes someone else, and he didn't write that letter, did he?” Yujin was still holding her by her arms, she squeezed them as an attempt to comfort her as she asked her question with a raised eyebrow.

Wonyoung shook her head weakly. “No.”

Yujin smiled at the short response. “Come on, let's get your face washed, can't let the people see the Jang Wonyoung like this.”

And Wonyoung smiled back.

The next day, Wonyoung was standing in front of her locker. She opened it, being welcomed by a bunch of letters she had received yesterday but didn't have the energy to read, so she left them there on purpose. She wasn't in the mood to read them all today either, but who knows, maybe some unrequited attention would cheer her up.

She took a crimson red envelope. It was plain without any striking decorations, but the color was pretty at least. She opened it and started reading it. Wonyoung found herself with words that she had read many times before in other letters from different people—the same sweet and lame words—and every time, it bored her. They didn't cheer her up, but instead made her more miserable than she was today. And something finally caught her attention.

“From: HK — just a tiny hint ;)” it read at the end.

Wonyoung's eyes widened as she recognized those initials.

“Oh my. fucking. God!” The other students in the hallway were now staring at her with confusion and curiosity, but Wonyoung didn't care. She couldn't believe this. She held the letter in her left hand and sighed heavily as she suppressed the urge to fold it into a ball and throw it far away from her.

For the first time in her high school years, someone finally made her feel something over a letter, but it wasn't what she expected.

Yuna's crush had a crush on her.

“Hey, you tall baby!”

“What do you want, Chaeyeon?” Wonyoung closed her locker, making a strong sound that made the girl behind her flinch. Then she turned around to meet her friend, who was looking at her with a frown.

“Not in the mood today?”

“No, not really. I just found out about the worst thing ever,” she answered Chaeyeon's inquiry and then handed her the letter.

Chaeyeon understood what she wanted her to do, so she took the letter in her hand and read the last sentence that made Wonyoung's day her worst day ever.

“HK? As in Huening Kai? I think he's the only guy I know with those initials and is around your age, but why do you feel like this?” Chaeyeon asked again, handing her the letter back. “You usually don't care about anyone's letter unless it's from Yuna,” she teased with a mocking smile.

Wonyoung groaned, rolling her eyes at her friend's teasing. Didn't she get that she was not in the mood? “Yesterday, I got the memo that Yuna doesn't like me but him. She hugged him after she thought my letter was from him.”

Chaeyeon’s whole face frowned in confusion. “And he likes you? What kind of weird love triangle are you in, girl?” She tried to suppress a laugh but ended up chuckling incredulously.

“I don't even know! Dramas didn't prepare me for this shit!”

“Well, and here I thought Yuna understood what I told her. I can see she's kinda dumb now.”

Wonyoung stopped in her tracks, now looking at the girl with a harsh stare. “What do you mean? What did you tell her?”

“Just told her she was getting a letter from you, but not actually told her that, just implied it.”

“What did you exactly tell her?”

“Well…”

“Hey, Yuna!” Chaeyeon said as she released her sister's shoulders from the grip of her arm, approaching the owner of the name.

“Yeah?”

“I heard you're getting a letter from someone tomorrow.”

Yuna’s eyes and smile widened, looking like an excited bunny. “Wait, what? Really? Who told you? Do you know them?”

“I can't tell you, I won't break the rules! But believe me when I say you will be happy and more than pleased when you know.”

“Are you dumb, Lee Chaeyeon?” Wonyoung almost screamed at her.

Chaeyeon frowned. “What?” She said, taken aback by the girl's strong reaction.

“What? That's what I'm asking you! What the fuck was that?”

“What I told her!”

“You literally did nothing more than mislead her into thinking her crush, who is clearly not me, likes her and gave her a letter!” Now, they were yelling at each other.

“How could I ever know she likes someone else?”

“Oh well, I don't know, you could've asked your sister about it since she's her friend!”

“Why would I ever ask my sister about Yuna's private life? That's weird!”

“You could've been weird once, for me!”

Wonyoung sighed as she brushed her hair back in an unconscious gesture to ease the stress and anxiety she was feeling; it did not work, of course. Realizing what she said, Wonyoung stayed silent, and so did Chaeyeon for a few short seconds until she spoke again.

“Now, you're crossing a line here,” Chaeyeon said, putting her index finger in front of her friend like she was scolding her, her voice tone more relaxed and serious now that she was slowly getting where Wonyoung’s anger was coming from. “You didn't write in the letter that you were a girl like you said you would, right?”

Wonyoung shook her head, defeated. “No, I didn't, so I'm mad at myself! I feel so dumb, Chaeyeon.”

“Hey, don't. It's okay. Mistakes happen,” Chaeyeon said as she put her hands on Wonyoung’s shoulders, squeezing them, trying to comfort her.

“I know, but I'm still kind of mad at you, though.”

Chaeyeon chuckled under her breath. “Yeah, I'm sorry,” she said, but then pursed her lips, seeming like she wasn’t convinced about her words. “... even though it wasn't fully my fault, to be honest, but I do recognize it was misleading. I could've done better or asked first.”

Wonyoung shook her head and sighed, feeling bad for lashing out at her friend. “No, don't apologize. You're right, it wasn't your fault, and I was just taking my anger out on you. I'm the one who's sorry.”

Chaeyeon smiled as she patted Wonyoung's shoulders. “It's okay, we're good. You know that I really don't care about those things, so no hard feelings.”

Wonyoung exhaled with relief. “Thank you.”

“You're welcome. Now come on, I think I know how you can fix this mess.”

ok, so I, personally, ship msu and ksu because I find them fun and more of crack ships then actual canon ships. I see why ppl like them, but they are more of crack ships. the only one that's actually sailing is ksu, but that's basically dead since timeskip.

but before I get into those ships, let's begin with the incest KawaHima.

kh is basically bsa, an incest ship. except the only difference is kh doesn't have same blood (bsa is incest because of their dads are reincarnations of Ashura and Indra and their clans are close, almost to the point of bsa being literally cousins). but kh are ADOPTIVE siblings, either way, they're related, not by blood tho.

I don't understand why ppl like it considering they're literally siblings. it's basically like shipping Boruto and Himawari. and not to mention their age difference.

ok, so now msu & ksu! first we'll start with msu because that won't take as long as the ksu rant:

so the first actual reason ppl started shipping them (actual fans) is the anime when Nue arc took place. that's what got me hooked on them.

but bsa fans only ship them to get Sumire and Mitsuki away from Boruto and Sarada because Mitsuki has only shown to be romantic around Sarada and Boruto (he might be gay for Boruto, but if he's straight, he's only ever shown interest in Sarada). and Sumire, well, need I say more? she is the ONLY character to have confirmed feelings for another character, hence why they want them both out of the way, because, other than Kawaki, they're the biggest threats to their ship. and they say Mitsuki is the captain of their ship, yet they're suddenly gonna want to throw him away the second he has any romantic relationship with either. and he actually never called them a "good couple" in the manga a.k.a canon and only in the Academy in the anime. after graduating and being on the same team, NOT ONCE has he said they make a good couple because he KNOWS they don't. hell, he asked Sarada ONCE about her feelings in anime and in manga, but he just wanted to know, not that he thinks they will make a good couple, but he was curious, not shipping them.

and with Kawaki, they ship Sumire with him just so they'll both be out of the way of their ship. yet Eida has feelings for Kawaki so she'll most likely get him and Sumire has feelings for Boruto so she'll most likely get him. Sarada's only option is Mitsuki, but yes, Kawaki is a victim of the disgusting bsa fandom because neither parties (Boruto, Sarada, Mitsuki, Kawaki) have confirmed their feelings for each other.

and they know how cringy their supposed ship is, which is why they try and say Sumire's love is just a crush and Sarada has confirmed her feelings over blushing and she's a tsundere. they even say Sumire only lied to Sarada so she could recognize her feelings, yet that backfired because after that, the only romantic scene they got was Sarada hugging Boruto in timeskip, like, 66 chapters after Sumire supposedly "manipulated Sarada in realizing her feelings for Boruto".

ok, so I gave a basic rundown, but I'll get into detail about it, starting with Sumire's confession:

ok, so here, antis claim that Sumire only manipulated Sarada into realizing her feelings for Boruto (which didn't happen considering the only romantic thing they have in the ENTIRE manga is the hug at the end of TBV chapter 5, the rest of their moments in the manga were cons to the ship). Sumire was GENUINE about HER feelings, not helping Sarada realize hers.

(btw, for bsa to actually happen, Sarada's personality has to take a big 180 for the ship to actually be considered romantic)

because this comes back up AGAIN:

this is when they KNOW she has DEFINITE feelings for him - REAL feelings. not an act, not a manipulation tactic, REAL FEELINGS, TRUE LOVE.

even Katasuke says "though it's so very obivious". meaning her feelings are true and real.

and say she DID manipulate Sarada to realize her feelings (hell will have to freeze over before it's confirmed that she did), her look wasn't jealous, but more of shock because it came out of nowhere, and she looked concern as Team 7 left and she was looking back at Sumire, probably like "oh no, this idiot is gonna get her heartbroken!". she was worried FOR Sumire, not worried ABOUT Sumire. she didn't think of Sumire as a rival, she thought of her as a close friend (she was her first friend and only friend until Chocho showed up) and she was worried that Boruto (being the dense kid he is) will hurt her.

say, just say, that she lied to Sumire about not having feelings for Boruto (as some antis claim), she'll be an even worse friend than Sakura was to Ino when their friendship ended. at least only one was serious about Sasuke (Sakura), Ino only went after him just to piss Sakura off. whereas Sumire's feelings are real and if Sarada has real feelings, all her moments after chapter 19 will be to piss of Sumire, because remember, she NEVER mentioned Sumire's name when she told Sasuke about Omnipotence, and she hugged Boruto IN FRONT of Sumire. that'll just make her look WORSE than she already does.

but Sarada couldn't care less about romantic feelings, let alone for Boruto. as she confirmed with Eida and Mitsuki.

so they need Sumire to be like Ino and move on with a guy like Sai (Mitsuki), hell, even Kawaki!

the only problem is:

"(koi) = Love between lovers(romantic)"

THAT is the kanji written on Sumire's databook and the cover she first appears in. they're both about SUMIRE, not Sarada as ppl claim. because why would it show up in the same cover Sumire does, huh? suspicious. but her databook cover comfirms her feelings are real.

but now they know that her feelings won't go away so they need Mitsuki and Kawaki to come and take her away so any of them won't be in the way.

msu has had NO interactions in the manga, had the Academy & Nue arcs and the one seen in the Kawaki arc where Mitsuki catches her when she falls over after Kawaki kicks her (all in the anime), well, if you exclude all the random classmate talking during other arcs. but overall, those have the romantic scenes and even then, the only romantic scene is that one seen in the Kawaki arc that isn't even that romantic.

ksu however, in the manga, only has Sumire being Kawaki's caretaker and the anime added a few "romantic" ksu moments, then realized, "wait, this isn't what's happening in the manga", and suddenly, it's like they never happened and ksu never even met.

ppl think that Sumire being Kawaki's caretaker will make her fall in love with him, yet HE asked about HER feelings for BORUTO, not him, BORUTO, his brother. both Mitsuki and Kawaki haven't shown any romantic feelings in ANYONE, including Sarada and Boruto. but at least with Boruto and Sumire, there's a spark there (Boruto being a little too much overprotective of her).

Sarada, however, currently, hopping to and from Mitsuki and Kawaki, so it's kinda hard to tell who'd she'll end up with but it'll probably be Mitsuki because Kawaki ruined Boruto's life. with Boruto, there's just that "he's my teammate, gotta keep him save", "my master told me to protect her so I have to."

say msu or ksu do get a lot of attention, you really think Sumire could look at them like she looks at Boruto. Boruto, himself, debunked that she may be a good actress, yet she can't hide her feelings. she can barely hide her feelings from Boruto in front of anyone. I'm honestly surprised Sarada didn't see the confession coming when Sumire started talking about if Boruto was popular with the girls back in Konoha.

but ppl start creating crazy theories that they'll end up together and that Kishi planned it.

so in my mind they can be enemies with benefits (that will NOT turn into enemies to lovers) and they can hatefuck and try to kill each other until one of them is dead

but they can NOT be in love. canonically there is no affection between the two so any depiction otherwise is SUPER ooc to me and i get pissed seeing my fav charas personality warped so bad bc if blade was some rando enemy then like fine but dan heng has been living in fear of this one specific dude for years so i forreal cannot imagine any sort of secret love or whatever. (dan heng GET BEHIND ME!!!!!!!) i for the life of me can NOT imagine blade harboring any positive emotion towards dan heng, and the same goes for the reverse. ESPECIALLY the reverse.

so what i actually dont like isnt the ship itself, its the most popular fanon interpretation of the ship which is that dan heng has residual emotions from dan feng and secretly likes blade/blade has residual emotions from yingxing and secretly likes dan heng...... bc i rly like canon which strongly pushes that they both are separated from their past lives and tht the only bond that ties them together is blades ongoing vengeance and elio's script

99% of fic and art tends to lean towards the happy side of things (what if they were secretly in love, love that persists through death/reincarnation, happy endings, etc) and the same goes for hsr meaning most blade/dan heng stuff. like yeah a lot of it is angst but its angst w a happy ending. instead of just enemies its enemies to lovers. instead of the sins of the past have been washed away its we'll fulfill the unfulfilled wishes of our past. like...... the core concept of what would make the ship good to me is not there at all in most of the fandom stuff....

plus i just rly dont like how even though the game reasserts dan hengs identity as an individual again and again ppl still mix him into dan feng just for ship material... i might be projecting onto him or smth bc idk why i take it so personally but it feels so wrong. ingame he keeps repeating again and again "i'm not him", "i'm not dan feng", and then the fandom goes "actually, 30% of u is dan feng and that 30% is in love w blade" like what???????

ADAMAAAN ive come around to him a lot, compared to when i first played thru pla. 

(Also mind you its been a while since ive played and i took iridas route over adamans so i dont know. Every little detail about him. But i like him <3)

favorite thing about them: he’s so fucking funny, i love that hes like the straight man of hisui. Adaman is so fucking normal (genuine), and literally everyone else around him has like a secret bit they have to commit to or theyll die. And like he just has to deal w it. Like all of it. Everyone’s nonsense all the time. You can tell he’s so tired and he’s just trying to keep it together

Also obligatory, but his design is soo fucking killer. Ive only recently actually sat down to draw him n hes just so fun. So well shaped. I like irida’s design on its own a lot, but like compared to adaman? they did her so dirty.

least favorite thing about them: I WISH WE GOT MORE OF A BACKSTORY WITH HIM UGGH i hate to compare him to Irida sm here, but she got like. A very clear story of struggling to accept her new position as clan leader after being abruptly shoved into it. Of the rest of her clan either having insanely high expectations for her, or in Palina’s case, feeling like she didn’t deserve the position.

I get Adaman’s whole thing was Supposed to be that he struggled to earn respect from the rest of the Diamond Clan until Dialga outright Possessed him (which that part is fucking sick. For the record), but i wish they just made it more apparent that. That’s What was supposed to be happening lol. 

Because idk, at least to me, definitely the rest of the clan members were kinda bratty, but i never got the impression they were that way specifically Because they thought Adaman was a weak leader, you know? I didn’t even like realize that’s what was supposed to be happening until like. I don’t think he’s all that headstrong as some people may describe him, and i dont think he’d necessarily be someone that thinks like. Taking a nap is a cardinal sin. GMMTV 2023 Showcase

This is so exciting, it’s like a kpop comeback except instead of having like a 1 hour live showcase before the release time when the song and album drops, we get like a 5-hour event with like 20 trailers and possibly won’t get the shows till 2024.

Initial Reaction: KhaoFirst !!!!!! Messy, messy gays and physical relationships and arguing :00 Definitely not what I expect from a GMMTV BL but then Jojo came out and it all made sense. Mans likes messy, ensemble cast shows. Also I’m glad I wasn’t prepared for this one because trying to figure out who the main ship are (before I realized it’s ensemble cast) and whether Khao and First will be friends or a side couple in that first 15 seconds and then my mind just melting for the rest of the trailer was great. Definitely one of my most anticipated and a very very nice surprise.

I’ve watching some reactions to the trailer on Youtube and it’s hilarious how people start off normal in the beginning and then they keep going “huh? huh?! HUH?!?!” at the Friends-> Secret Crush on a Friend -> FWB -> BF --> A friend’s BF transitions and then go back a few seconds to rewatch the transition and understand it 

There’s a whole mess with it on Twitter with people saying it’s too sexualized or that it’ll give queer people a bad rep and Jojo even having to explain that it’ll be more than just NC scenes like bruh I hope this show is incredible and Jojo hits it out of the park because 1) I’m anticipating this show so much but also 2) I need him to show these ppl

Also people are kinda meh since it’ll be student (Prim) and teacher (Win) romance but like I don’t really mind that in this type of show (in contrast, I would’ve minded in The Eclipse)

Typing out long paragraphs to prove a point isn't going to suddenly make it valid. I believe anon is right. The misogyny in Naruto does a lot to highlight the relationship between the males. Different aspects of a piece of media are bound to influence each other. Kishimoto wrote Naruto to be similar to a much intense version of a rival-like relationship in his own life. He also acts as if women are part of some foreign species, leading him to say "idk how to write women" as justification for ruining all the arcs of females. Queer baiting is a thing. These things collectively contribute to make Sns so obvious.

So I'm sorry to break it to you but I can't, in a million years, believe that this cishet, married man sat down and intentionally wrote a 700 chapter gay romance. And yes, some pieces of media are unintentional. You just make this piece of art and not everyone will interpret it the same way. Anyone can show up and say "character A looks beautiful. This is an intentional thing done by the artist" when the artist drew character A to look average to their eyes. Kishi does realize that sns must look so fucking romantic to some ppl and he allows us to see it the way we want.

That being said, i don't see the point in arguing whether kishi intended to write homosexual characters or not. Does saying that it was intentional make you feel better about yourself /the ship?? I socialize with a lot of writers, some of them are national and international award winning film makers and I like to pick their brains, because of my own interests. One of them recently got nominated for an Oscar. I would have shared the link had I not been mindful about my anonymity. That's a privilege only special people get (you know who you are). Am I flexing? Let me know when your friend gets nominated for an Oscar, even though I think Murican film awards are quite overhyped, but it's still a major recognition. Anyway, you know why I don't think Kishi's writing is unintentional? The whole reason why Kishi thought it was important to talk about - are they friends? Or brothers? Or More? points to the FACT that he wanted to say something with it. That their true feelings for each other is at the very least, suspect. If they aren't brothers, since Naruto does finally admit he doesn't think Sasuke is his brother when talking to Hagoromo, and if they aren't just friends, as Naruto finally admits in chapter 698, that he doesn't really know how to explain it, what else could it be?? And how is it that I have seen this trope so many times in other gay media, very much derived from personal stories of gay film makers?

Why would Kishi tell the story this way when he makes Sasuke ask Naruto over and over again, to define the relationship, and Naruto keeps saying, because you are my 'friend'? Why waste so much precious panel space when he could have added more fight scenes that otakus just eat up with both hands? Have you asked yourself these questions? Do you even think about writer's intent? Do you even use your head while consuming media?

I have the advantage of having watched I don't know, around fifty films about gay coming of age stories, and talking to actual gay people to compare if their stories or experiences were similar.

The writer's intention says a lot. I get that most fans don't understand the method of writing a story, but to think it's accidental is plain denial mixed with ignorance.

Kishimoto intended to tell a gay love story. Otherwise he wouldn't have told the story in this manner. No way. He deliberately moulded the story that forces the protagonist, who is closeted gay, to answer why he cares about Sasuke so much, and what his feelings for Sasuke mean. Why would there be this intent to define this relationship, had they not been purposely written as two boys in love with each other? And why are we seeing the same dynamic in Boruto which isn't even about these two? Yeah, sure, Kishimoto has apparently moved on but he is still continuing the same dynamic in Boruto, nice, heh.

Why aren't they close to their wives? Why don't they even talk to them, much less spend time with them? But they always have time for each other? They smile for each other and look alive and happy when otherwise they look so dull? Why is Sasuke's marriage such a sham? Why doesn't he kiss or visit his own wife? Why does Kishimoto show Boruto think of his mother when Sarada talks about bento in Gaiden but when she gives it to Naruto in the next chapter, Naruto thinks of Sasuke looking at the bento and not his OWN wife when she is the one who regularly makes it for him?

Do you really not see writer's intent? What is Kishi trying to say here, in a genre where he can't explicitly say it, but has other means that he uses so blatantly? Before you ask me questions, ask them to yourself. If you then have doubts, then maybe come to me. Or don't. I have a huge backlog anyway.

How easily you sweep significant moments under the rug without asking yourself why the writer wrote it this way if he didn't want to say something with it? Writers use everything in their toolboxes to tell their story. Narrative, dialogues, characters, visual imagery, which in Naruto's case, all points to a deliberate intention. You think it all happens in isolation? No thought required?? Maybe you don't do things that way, but don't expect everyone else to be as simple minded as you. I can agree that one can be susceptible to interpreting a piece of art as not intended by the creator. I remember once, when I was working in an art gallery, and admiring a painting. So this old man, a collector stood alongside me, also looking at the painting, and asked me what I saw in it. And I told him. He had a different idea, and he got offended by my reading of it, much to my amusement. But you see, it was abstract art. I can look at a Jackson Pollock painting and say it's about a murder scene. You could say it's about rains. That's the fun about abstract art. But there's nothing abstract about Naruto. If anything, it's too expositional, like any other shounen manga. Love, know your genres. Don't think you can get away with comparing apples and oranges, it's such an obvious ploy.

If you have seen that film, then you know what I am talking about. A lot of people who thought it was about mach speed and testosterone and male ambition were surprised to see how gay it looked and sounded.

This is a clip from a dramedy film called 'Sleep with me' and this is one of Quentin Tarantino's acting roles. Now he is being funny here, and even though he makes a lot of sense, it's meant for comedy, that's the whole point of this scene in the film. It is funny. BUT. There is a difference. The difference is TROPES. Writing your script with a line or two that sounds like a character is saying superficial funny gay shit, is different from actually taking those tropes and embedding them in your narrative. The other reason why Top Gun sounds accidentally gay, and is not actually gay, is because otherwise Tom Cruise would never have signed the film, that man is probably gay himself and is notoriously homophobic, and he would sue anyone's ass who as much as breathes about his doubtful sexuality. And secondly, the writer admitted that he didn't write it that way, but he could see how it could be interpreted as gay. But these moments are only for laughs, totally circumstantial and don't add ANYTHING to the actual narrative.

Naruto's story on the other hand is GUIDED by it. Naruto does everything to get close to Sasuke, to understand him, to make him trust him. Kishimoto uses a lot of tropes well explored in global gay media to tell their love story. I have made comparisons with actual films, look for them here and here. I am sorry (not) to say your understanding of narrative is ridiculously poor.

Yes, I know queer baiting is a thing. Apparently, you don't know what it means. You know what is queerbaiting? Ops and eds of Naruto is queerbaiting, such as Blue Bird, Diver, Broken Youth etc. Why? Because the producers knew it ain't never gonna happen. Kishimoto didn't write the lyrics or create the visuals of the ops and eds. But the studio still commisioned super romantic, explicitly so, ops and eds exclusively for the two of them. To attract a certain subset of audience and it did get traction because it was already established in the story and appealed to audiences it was targeted at. The studio was aware of how it looked to audience. But it's not the kind of genre where you can write it explicitly in the actual story.

As for Kishimoto being misogynistic, yes he is. But that still has nothing to do with Naruto and Sasuke's purposeful love. Is it possible to create homosexual media without or with minimal female interaction with the male leads? Absolutely. 'Hawaii' by Marco Berger has close to no female representation in it, but it's about two gay men realizing their love for each other. Same goes for 'Tropical Malady' by Apichatpong Weerasethakul. 'Happy together' by Wong Kar Wai. Minimal, completely absent or entirely irrelevant female representation. Does that invalidate their own story? No. Obviously.

The reason why I think you are homophobic is because when you trivialize, and appropriate gay content in the name of heteronomativity, you are being homophobic, whether you think of it as such or not. It's like saying - Oh I don't care if you are gay, just keep it away from me.

A person like, oh I don't know, You, would think - hmm that makes sense. He at least isn't opposing gay relationships.

Your understanding of homophobia is quite shallow, I must say. Kishi's intent is so clear, that you really don't have to be a cinephile to get it. There are many other fans who got it in their first read or watch, just through an unbiased and unprejudiced stance. You don't even have to be exceptionally smart. You just have to avail yourself to the story, to let it immerse you, without coloured and unobjective lenses. Which is honestly the only right way to watch or read anything. Homophobia is such an ingrained mentality, quite like misogyny, that it shows in what you say and how you react to certain things, and it doesn't have to be overt. Almost all the - they are just friends, or they are brothers, or it is just accidental arguments clearly stem from heteronomativity and homophobia because it is such an ingrained response, that one isn't even aware sometimes that they are doing it. People often lack insight into themselves and the majority of Naruto fandom is emotionally young or belong to an age group that is inexperienced in both life and consuming media. Sometimes I suspect most of them haven't seen anything outside of Shounen or shoujo or anime.

And I will tell you something else. People who are in my film circles, I made a couple of them watch Naruto. I didn't say anything about it being gay or whatever, I said nothing. They also understand visual language and narrative like I do. And like I had suspected, they also came out knowing it was a gay love story. Coincidence?? I don't think so. You just gotta be honest with yourself, it's just so much more relieving. Why carry the burden of lying to ourselves? It's not worth it. If you still don't understand what I mean, maybe you will, when you grow up. Not just in terms of age, but experience and understanding.

I'm gonna lose a lot of people here, and likely cause they don't want to read to the end to hear all I have to say, but here goes: I don't particularly ship Byler either. When most people hear this statement they immediately equate it with the statement "I don't think Will is gay and neither is Mike" (I feel like this is true for most queer ships, or just shipping culture in general?).... this could not be more wrong. For one, nobody ever immediately knows why someone ships something (and a lot of times, the person themselves don't understand/realize why they subconsciously pick to a specific pairing and cling to it so tightly) and while it's completely understandable to have become defensive, say, because you feel as though your own identity is under attack, it's so easy—natural even—for people to snap into survival mode and try to defend themselves. But as we've seen, this can, in the right circumstances, also feed the pre-existing cycle of offense and defense that is far too long and philosophical a discussion to dive into here and now.

No, for now I wanna just reiterate that just because someone admits to not being particularly hyper-enthused by a specific ship—yes, like Byler—doesn't mean they automatically hate it. I don't particularly campaign for Mileven either! I've been persuaded by both in the past, but I've never found myself at point where I'm making fan accounts surrounding the ship, pumping out content 24/7, and I certainly haven't felt compelled to bash anyone who ships the other. Byler and Mileven shippers, hard-core super-shippers specifically speaking, are some of the most toxic fans I've ever encountered. Is it every one? No!! But most. Most. The most extreme ive heard/seen is horrific. I'm talking death threats, suicide baiting, doxing, constant harassment and just overall borderline cyberterrorism. It's fucking unacceptable. And the underlying theme here and why there's so much fear spreading throughout fandom spaces. Why someone felt the need to limit contact and come to someone they claimed to trust to anonymously admit they aren't frothing at the mouth for one of these aforementioned ships. (Thank u btw for feeling u could trust me) This is not okay!!! People have to see how wrong this is!!! Right?? Right?!

I have no idea how much people will respect all this considering the source: a 21 year old reader insert writer who dedicates most of her time to writing teenagers into the plot of stranger things with Will Byers as their love interest (yes, specifically fem presenting/ she/her pronoun users). So no, I wouldn't blame anyone for hearing me say the words "I'm not a big byler shipper" and assume it has anything to do with that. But I'd hope that anyone who knows me, or is at least willing to hear me out, will understand that I have stated many times (and likely will again cause im a ✨️repetitive bitch✨️) that when I was a teenager, I was going through the absolute worst years of my life. Like, it warmed me up the for 2020s, that's how bad it was for me. And the only thing that got me through (likely without falling into what I believe would have become some incredibly dangerous habits) was falling into a world I could completely disappear into and forget my own shitty world existed.

I found this series called The Maze Runner, fell absolutely in love with the books and the world and bought every copy I could get my hands on. And when that wasn't enough, I looked for every blogspace I could get my hands on. Enter tumblr. Not even five minutes into my new account and searching the maze runner tag do I find a short little story called an "x reader". I literally cried. I was so fucking alone cause, and I'll tell yall, in the span of 15 months, I put down my dog of 11 years, lost my great-grandmother, then my grandpa, then my great grandfather, and then my grandmother. I had reason to believe I would suddenly lose my best friend to depression, and then to top it off my parents got divorced. Granted things have definitely gotten brighter, but little 14 year old me was no where near a healthy state of mind, or body and stumbling across something that not only let me disappear from my collapsing world, but surrounded me in love and encouragement, no matter how corny or silly, by the characters I had fallen in love with was an indescribable experience. This. This is precisely why i write. If theres even a chance i can provide that for you, and God, in the 2020s of all time to be a teenager, than i want to. I want to pay it forward.

That being said, I'd also hope one would understand while things were on the mend, I wasn't fully recovered by the time stranger things came out and i decided to write for it. The grief and trauma was one thing but, another thing you guys might know about me if you've been following me for a while is in the past, I've struggled severely—and still do a great deal—with compulsory heterosexuality. And honestly, a little internalized homophobia I think. It's stuff I work on daily, and it's stuff, I'd be willing to bet, a lot more people deal with than you'd expect. It's for this reason, that I suspect hilariously enough, me a deeply closeted lesbian while planning an x (at the time fem!)reader rewrite for younger kids to escape into, was faced with the choice of a love interest and subconsciously chose one of the only semi-canonically gay male characters available. Yes, essentially, in my own comphet riddled brain, I subconsciously gave both the (fem)reader and Will Byers my own comphet.

But guess what? Characters evolve as the story evolves and that rings true for COSMIC. I wish I had stories back then that casually explored sexuality outside the confines of cisgender heterosexuality in a safe, fun, encouraging way. I also wish I had stories that led you down one story with one character only and suck you in only to change and evolve if needed to say, an opposite sex or nonbinary character as the new love interest and being able to do so cause the love interest was never THE PLOT in the first place. It certainly would have helped speed things along I think, and even if I wasn't its healthy to try things out/consider before saying, ya know I think this still feels right, I'm good! And that's okay!

I deeply deeply appreciate anyone who read this far. I completely understand how much i tend to blather and granted i didnt plan on going into the specifics of my childhood trauma but i felt it necessary info as to why on earth im preaching gay Will while i currently have a Will x fem!reader on my page (Again, dont worry. Im not about to disrespect/erase anything likely to come in s4, nor have is this is a sudden thing in COSMIC) and seemingly shitting on ships. Again, it's the over intense shippers, not the ships themselves and overall lack of byler content that failed to get my attention.

In conclusion, yes, I don't particularly ship Byler much like you dear nonnie, but anyone who automatically thinks that statement makes us homophobic really needs to take a step back and perhaps consider taking a break from public fandom space. If you as a byler OR mileven shipper feel confronted at every corner to a point you're jumping down others throats, you need to take a break from the internet. Draw your ship, write some fanfic if you still want to engage in fandom activities offline but take a break from the internet and prowling for any throat to jump down.

Mao and Badgerclops were sitting on the couch, having a lazy day watching TV. It’d been surprisingly peaceful as of late, and Adorabat was on a class field trip with her dad as one of the chaperones.

Badgerclops was laughing at one of the cooking contestants flailing about as dramatic music playing during the timed challenge.

Mao shuffled in his seat, sparing a glance to his left before looking back at the TV.

“...Hey, Badgerclops,“ he started, “do you think I’m gay?“

The cyclops in question hummed, lowering the volume and leaning back on Sofia’s armrest so he could focus on his friend. “Whaddaya mean?”

He sighed, picking at his gloves. “I’m not sure if it’s only guys is what I’m trying to say.”

Mao let out a string of indecipherable sounds as his partner snickered.

“Dude, Mao. The king gives you looks when the two of you ‘talk’. Looks and sass that don’t really come out when he directly talks to any of the villagers. From a third party perspective, he’s definitely flirting. Same with Orangusnake. Well,” Badgerclops made a face, remembering their recent hospital visit, “almost the same.”

“Honestly I don’t talk to Eugene all that much, but I’m pretty sure he’s been warming up to both of us. Plus, I do think you should also consider...,“ he gestured between the two of them, raising an eyebrow. 

Mao stared at his co-hero, unamused. 

Badgerclops repeated the gesture, this time wiggling the eyebrow and giving a suggestive hum.

Mao snorted, giving a few half hearted kicks to the other’s leg until the other freed him. The two sat up and faced the TV again.

“Maybe,“ Badgerclops said, “you’re bi, instead of like, being into guys, specifically.“

Mao blinked, heroic brain thinking about what his companion just said. “Huh. Maybe you’re right.” He glanced at his friend and smiled, before going back to watch the screen. “Thanks, Badgerclops.”

Badgerclops raised the volume back up. “No problem, dude.” He grinned, wrapping an arm around Mao as he leaned into his side. The cat’s head rested on his chest as his ears brushed against the taller’s cheek. 

They stayed like that until both of them fell asleep.

wwx like... having thrown his whole life away to help the wens (yeah the sect leaders and jin guangshan in particular wanting his stygian tiger amulet was an Element but still) and not.... necessarily regretting it, but grappling with all of the consequences of it... becoming moody and drepressed at times, missing his family and lotus pier and his friends and probably simply missing being around people and causing trouble, extrovert that he is, lashing out at the wens and at a-yuan, just in general the whole messiness of that experience

the way the resentful energy does affect his temperament is rly nice bc its not too in your face,(i mean outside of the Shaky Hands of Rage) but like he clearly has a much lesser control on his anger and impulsivity (tall order) than both before bm and after hes ressurected

and jiang cheng.  being the tough love uncle . having raised the yunmeng jiang clan from the rubble all alone, his whole family dead, some of it on the blame of his own brother, his siblings, his closest friends gone.......and only jin ling there needing his guidance. 

THE PARALLEL BETWEEN JIN LING BEING A LIFELINE FOR JIANG CHENG AND A-YUAN FOR LAN WANGJI AFTER THE BATTLE AT THE NIGHTLESS CITY

and like . the fact! that lwj and jc dislike each other!!. jc projects blame onto him for wwx both “leaving” him and indirectly causing their families deaths and when hes so consumed by it he makes wwx an enemy, lwj is there now? trying to protect him?? and lwj, who can never understand the pain that wwx , indirectly or not put jc through, but who was right there when jc tried to kill him and will never allow him to hurt wwx again. and how they like. in a way project blame of their tragedies onto each other while dealing with some type of survivor guilt and in their own way still loving wwx through it all???  amd in way its kind of fundamentally selfish but also tragically understandable? and like when u put it against the fact that after he disappears during the sunshot campaign they were looking for him together and fought together??

JUST. THE CHARACTERS. AND THE RELATIONSHIPS IN THIS. MAN. UGH. GOD. 

and like i think thats what makes it so good? its such a sad and painful and violent story, edgy even, but its compelling bc at the center of it there are all of these relationships and different types of love and hope and. :( i love it

babie cultivator squad is the perfect ammount of cute and comedic relief while still bearing the weight? of the narrative in a way, both from sizhui and jin lings existences, and also. like. how do i put this. they feel hopeful? they were born after a war, they came of age at a time of relative peace, they dont hold on so closely to the resentments of their parents/father figures, they are specifically shown as more accepting and open minded. and its like.... Hope for the future  

one of the ?? things  i love the most is the fact that the main cast are often in situations where theyre hunted/running but they like. never wear disguises... just going around in their gorgeous expensive clan clothes and hair ornaments and distinctive spiritual weapons.... maybe w a straw hat on, just for kicks
