Listen, less that $50 a year (if you join during the beta period) is a fucking *steal* for the kind of content everyone at Watcher is going to be putting out for us.
Like they said in their video, this kind of stuff takes money (especially if they also wanted to pay their staff a living wage, which I KNOW is something we all advocate for on tumblr).
Reblogging about people being paid fairly is very different than having to actually help make that happen, I know, but if that's something you truly believe in, then you should support the content creators that believe that too.
I love Watcher, and I love that they were honest about the effort and money that goes into their work.
And yeah, we're all broke, but when you think about it, one year of Watcher costs about the same as ordering take out or eating at a restaurant one time.
I'm sure like most of you, I've been a fan of the Watcher team since Buzzfeed. Their shows got me into food and inspired me to try and pursue my own creative endeavors. Their honesty and earnestness is truly inspiring and I want to keep supporting them.
They didn't know if Watcher would succeed when they broke away from buzzfeed, but they did it anyway. And look at everything we got because they took that chance!
Now they're telling us that they're ready to take another leap, but that they need our help to grow. Aren't you curious to see what weird and wonderful things they want to show us?
Filling in the #5 spot was hardest, because there are so many right behind it that could swap out (like the energy of the salad ep is so chaotic) but at the end of the day I love that they were like "Andrew missed the first two episode so we're gonna find a way to combine them" and I think that's beautiful. Their attention to detail in recreating the 1x01 intro is a nice touch.
4. $2 Curry Vs. $75 Curry
This is the most Steven episode of them all, and as the creator of this series, he deserves his own spot on this list. As I said during Steven Week 2023, he talks more about his upbringing in this episode than any other. I also love as soon as Andrew finds out they'll be within arm's reach of Steven's favorite dish ever, it gets added to their order without question.
3. $1 Sushi Vs. $133 Sushi • Japan
Any travel episode is fantastic. I almost chose the Japan egg episode, but the $$$ location for the sushi episode just barely takes the win. They're all dressed up. Rie is there. The chef is fantastic and feeds the crew. Steven gets so nervous he can barely speak. It's great. Makes me tear up a little.
Also: "Conveyor belt me."
2. $18 Wine Vs. $1,000 Wine
All of the Australia episodes are great, but this is one I keep coming back to. They got to taste something that took a century to make! And when Steven surprises Andrew with his "up yours" toast, never fails to make me laugh. (and some of the first gifs I ever made are from this episode!)
1. $19 Brunch Vs. $113 Brunch
Andrew's personality over the first few episodes goes from reluctant participant to actively enjoying himself. And he makes this same journey within this one episode. It's like excellent foreshadowing of what their energy will be like for the rest of the series.
Many excellent episodes to watch, but this is my Worth It Winner!

⫸ Foodie Trio: Day Four
It was very hard to narrow this down to only five episodes. There really aren't any bad ones imo. If you want to see more I have a couple WI playlists
BREAKING: Andrew Ilnyckyj and Adam Bianchi join Watcher! The trio will produce and star in a brand new food show. "We picked up where we left off with Worth It, but we’re also making something completely new," Andrew shared.
More info to come this Friday with other major announcements.
Here they are!! The series of drawings I've been working on for months!
Now, trying to sum them up in a few words (in a reblog) is gonna be impossible because I can (and sometimes do) talk about each of them for hours on end. All you need to know tbh is that more than half of them have mommy issues and dog motifs. They all have something about their names, in a way, and they're in my brain 24/7
Watcher is becoming such a powerhouse. Ghoul boys and now the Worth it boys! Not to mention the rest of the talented and hardworking team members they’ve got currently and who knows what else they’ve got coming. This is only the first major announcement!
"The most fullfilling experience? I guess it can all be encapsulated by having this opportunity to do things on our own terms at Watcher, in a "Taylor's version" kind of way."
